Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Be not afraid, only believe

  • He reads his text: a ruler of the synagogue falls at Jesus’ feet and pleads — my little daughter lies at the point of death; come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she shall live — and Jesus went with him.
  • Skipping down to verse 35, he reads the second act of the text: while Jesus yet spoke, word came from the ruler’s house — your daughter is dead; why trouble the Master any further?
  • Jesus’ answer to the worst report is the sermon in one line: be not afraid, only believe.
  • He announces his message in the words of the filed title: the greater the impossibility, the greater the miracle; he has come to preach faith and hope to somebody in an impossible situation, because nothing is impossible for our God.

Scriptures: Mark 5:22-23; Mark 5:35-36

The impossible rescue

  • He tells the story of the 2018 Thailand cave rescue: twelve boys and their young coach, trapped some three miles inside a flooded cave system as early monsoon rains rose, lost for ten days while their parents kept vigil at the entrance.
  • The Thai Navy SEALs who arrived to cheers had never cave-dived and lacked the equipment; two British men who dove caves as a hobby, with homemade tanks they carried under their arms to pass the narrow openings, were flown in on the tenth day.
  • They found all thirteen alive — but getting to them was not getting them out: the boys had never dived, could not see a hand before their faces, and the swim out ran a mile and a half under water.
  • The plan was to sedate each boy unconscious, tie his hands so panic could not drown them both, and pull him out one at a time, one diver to one boy, re-dosing halfway — though the authorities warned the volunteers they would face the Thai courts if the boys did not come out alive.
  • They said they would rather spend their lives in a Thai jail than go home and sleep knowing they had left thirteen people in a cave to die; and the preacher turns it to God’s plan, which made no more sense: the mystery of godliness, the Creator making himself creation in order to save his creation.

Nine healed, one made whole

  • He preaches the ten lepers: a disease so disfiguring that its victims had to cover their faces, wear torn clothes, and cry unclean — the lepers looked, recognised Jesus of Nazareth, and cried, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on us.
  • Jesus healed them and sent them to show themselves to the priest; he directs the church to Luke chapter 17 and delivers the return: one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, glorified God with a loud voice, and fell on his face at Jesus’ feet giving thanks — and he was a Samaritan.
  • Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are none found that returned to give glory to God save this stranger; and Jesus said to him, arise, go your way — your faith has made you whole.
  • Nine were healed but one was made whole: healing means the leprosy was gone; wholeness means everything lost was restored — the wounds, the scars, the mind and the emotions made sound.
  • There is more mental and emotional sickness in society than ever, and Jesus does not only want to heal the cause of the hurt; he wants to take the scar away and make people whole again.

Scriptures: Luke 17:15-19

If I may touch but the hem of his garment

  • Inside the ruler’s story stands the woman with the issue of blood: twelve years of uncleanness and isolation, every doctor tried, everything spent, and yet she grew worse — like people who have tried every remedy, every counsellor, every helpline for what binds them.
  • She crept up from behind in the throng, not wanting to be seen, reasoning that if she could only touch the hem of his garment as he walked by — and virtue went out of him; he turned and said, who touched me?
  • Many were bumping against Jesus and felt nothing; the difference is not the touching but the expecting — she came out into the road expecting to receive, while another can sit beside her hearing the same stories and receive nothing.
  • He has the church look at Mark 5 and verse 34: Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace. Somebody in this place is like that woman — or like a parent whose child is three miles back in the cavern — and the greater the impossibility, the bigger the miracle God means to perform.

Scriptures: Mark 5:34

He’s not dead, but sleepeth

  • It is all in the way you approach the King: approach him in unbelief and you will leave in unbelief; approach him as the miracle worker, the blinded-eye opener, the one who raises the dead, and he will begin to put marriages, finances, and families back together.
  • He is the author and the finisher of our faith, who takes out his pen and writes a new future over the lowest person who walked in — baggage and all, you are wanted here.
  • At Lazarus’ grave they said, by this time he stinks; Jesus walked into the room and said he is not dead, but sleeps — and the word comes under the unction of the Holy Ghost: things the adversary has pronounced dead are not dead; your dream is not dead, your children are coming back, your ministry is not over; you will preach, pray, sing, and teach again.
  • We have let the adversary take things; this morning we take them back, boldly, and we do not leave until we do — if you call on the name that is above every name, the miracle is here, and it is all in how you come to receive it.

No issue for Jesus

  • DISCLOSED ON THE FACE: the preacher was taken sick in the middle of this sermon, and the closing movement is delivered by another minister of the house preaching from the preacher’s own notes — he says so from the pulpit: these are some of brother Erickson’s notes.
  • From those notes he reads the litany: you may have a drug issue, a marriage issue, an alcohol issue; you may have been abused or neglected; you may have depression and suicidal thoughts, or a disease in your body — but it is no issue for Jesus; we have a hope, and it is found in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • The only thing God cannot fix is what we will not give him; open yourself, admit the wound and the offence, and give it to him — if you need the Holy Ghost this morning, it is here for you today.
  • The altar prayer closes the sermon: the Holy Ghost can give you the hope — it can give you the hope that you need.

people in this room who lord god they're withholding information about things going on within themselves for fear lord god and i'm just going to believe that the hope is going to show up in this place today i believe miracles signs and wonders are going to take place in this house today because lord where you are lord there is freedom not only freedom to worship but there's freedom of healing there's there's freedom of deliverance lord there's freedom lord where people are going to be set free in this house let your spirit break out in a mighty way if you believe you're serving that god today clap your hands unto him and give him all the praise that's to his name hallelujah oh thank you jesus you may be seated in this house today uh two names that you probably won't recognize before yesterday i had never heard these names but two names john volenthan and rick stanton john volenthan and rick stanton these uh uh these two gentlemen i began to watch a documentary yesterday on the 2018 thailand cave rescue just happened not just a few years ago we we remember the the soccer team the the young boys between the ages of 11 and 16 that went on a on a little excursion into a cave in thailand northern thailand and uh their soccer coach he was some i think he was about 25 years old he brought 12 of his soccer players they rode bikes to this cave and it was it was very common it was a tourist attraction people went down into these caverns just to kind of check them out and to look around and i imagine as a 12 year old as a 14 year old i'm sure that these young boys they've probably been there before they probably checked out this cave before but it was after soccer practice and and they found themselves deep into this cave when it began to rain and uh the story goes that the torrential rains started early in 2018 they weren't supposed to start for for a few more weeks there was really no danger in going into the cave but while they were in the cave the water began to rise and uh you know when i think of a cave i think of caves we we had state parks and in upstate new york we had beautiful state parks and i remember as a kid we would find these what we call caves uh there were nothing more than uh maybe some some some rock that had been broken out of uh out of a hillside and we would go up inside of them and we thought you know these caves are so cool and uh you know but it was not like that these caves were some of the largest and deepest caves that were naturally these these caves were broken through because of these torrential rains would bring water through these caverns and would dig out these caverns and they were miles long so as these boys as the water started rising and they of course fear it struck their hearts because areas that were narrow where they were able to get out they could no longer get out they could no longer get through they had no way to swim through these areas and so they kept on moving further and further back into the cavern until the story goes that they were some three miles into this cavern but i got i sent a picture just to give an idea three miles just to give you an idea how far three miles is from right here we are it would be about where the maryvale target is from here that's how far they are back into these caverns and you could see the lower right side where it says entrance they they they had moved up into these chambers and they were probably about a mile and a half when the water started rising they couldn't get out so they kept on going until you see where they are the boys were found all the way to the left side uh that's some two miles from the point of the intersection there it's about a mile point eight from the intersection to the to the mouth of the entrance the entrance of the cave uh and these these boys had got back there and they were lost for some ten days and by this time and watch the documentary it's it's on it's on disney plus it's probably on netflix it's an it's an amazing documentary because you have these parents who find 13 bicycles up against the rail that led into the cave they knew that the boys were in there there was no question they knew that the boys were in there as you're watching this documentary you feel like you're there because you can see you can see the mothers weeping and you can see as they're clutching on to one another because they know it's been 10 days and although there's people that have told them that there's a chance that these boys are still alive you understand that the the rains are falling and it's not like our tennessee rain it's it's it's a downpour it's it's it's an ugly season it's a rain forest season it's a time when when everything has flooded and they can't hardly get emergency vehicles in and they're trying to set up tents to make a a a temporary hospital their hope they have hope but as the days go by and they realize matter of fact they brought in they their hope began to rise because they brought in the thai navy seals and they thought if anybody can get these boys out we bring in the navy seals and man those trucks began to come those military trucks began to come and the people started cheering as the navy seals showed up but but the problem was the navy seals had never gone deep diving into caves before they they had been deep seed diving but they had never been in the caves before and they didn't have the right equipment they didn't have the right kind of air tanks matter of fact there are no right kind of air tanks to get you as far as they had to get to find those boys and so they went in as far as they could go and they came back out and of course the people once again were forlorn but it was heard of two british men the two men on his name two british men who for a hobby they had made their own oxygen tanks their own air tanks literally made matter of fact it showed it showed in a documentary where they had they they had they had carved the plastic out to make the seals they were needed there was no such of a seal you couldn't buy a seal for what they needed it for so they had to make their own plastic seals that went in and they had to make their own tanks they had they had homemade air tanks that they didn't put on their backs they actually kept under their arm and they would swim alongside the tank because in a cave you can't have something on your back you can't get through the narrow openings you gotta be able to pull the canister behind you as you swim and as you make your way through these small openings and so they got these two british guys and and they finally got them on day 10 they got them to thailand and they said please just go in and see what you can do see what you can find and i want you to know the elation of the parents when they came back out and they said we found all 12 of the boys and we found we found the coach and they're all alive not only are they all alive they're all sitting up none of them are injured some of them are standing up they're talking and these and these and these and these two uh these two british uh deep sea divers as happy as they could be here was the problem the problem was i can get to them i just can't get them back out and what seemed like an easy plan what do you mean you can't get them out just go in there and give them some air tanks and bring them back out well it just wasn't that simple because number one these these boys had never they never dove inside of a cave before they didn't know their way you couldn't see your hand in front of your face there were so many obstacles of getting them out of there how could they get enough tanks in to get the boys out they they could barely bring food and rations into the boys and i'm watching this documentary and i'm thinking to myself there is no way we're talking uh if you just want to leave that picture up on the screen for a little while there was somewhere around a half mile a half mile you could kind of see right there where the boys were found between on if they're under a mountain and they're somewhere around around a half mile that they would have had to try to tunnel down and dig down through the earth and and i know i know brother mitchell hide he can tell you right now that's not gonna be done in enough time to get those boys out before their oxygen runs out to make a hole big enough to pull these boys up out of the earth and so and so they they came up with a plan the the the british divers they they met with the uh with with the people of thailand they they met with this the navy seal team they met with the government leaders and and of course all eyes were on thailand and they came up with a plan here was the plan they're gonna they're gonna drug these boys they're gonna sedate them heavily so so that they're even unconscious and they're gonna tie their hands behind their back and they're going to pull them through this cave they're going to tie their hands behind their bed because if they come if they wake up and they're going to wake up because the sedation is not going to last long enough to keep them asleep when they wake up and they're under water they're going to flail they're going to drown everybody and so they knew enough we got to have their hands tied behind behind their backs so so the panic can cause drowning and they're going to rescue one boy at a time one man one diver is going to go after that one boy one diver's going to get that face mask on that boy one diver's going to pull two tanks along with them one diver's gonna pull the boy because there was not enough room for more than one person to go through at a time and so if you can imagine this plan seemed impossible because not only was there a mile and a half of water to swim through there was also a mile and a half for them to carry this unconscious boy through so this this this swim team who had been up for probably 72 hours had not gotten sleep they had been up around the clock trying to come up with this plan they go in after these boys one boy at a time and as they're coming out halfway through they have to administer the drug again can you imagine we're not talking about doctors or nurses we're talking about we're talking about some guys who for a hobby they go into caves and dive and here they are in in the documentary it was unbelievable because it showed them as they're fumbling with these needles as they're under water and they're trying to they're trying to put it through the wetsuit of the boy and they're trying to inject that injection into him and sedate him it was a scary it was a scary time and here's to make things worse the government leaders didn't like their plan and so the as they didn't like their plan they told them they said this and this this is what what got me they warned them they said if you don't bring those boys out alive you're gonna face the thailand judicial system can you imagine that we've got two volunteers who have no dog in this race it's not one of their children it's not even one of their people it's not one of their countrymen they have no dog in the race but here it is these guys said i would rather spend the rest of my life in a tile in jail than to know that i went home and laid my head on a pillow and know that i left 13 people in a cave to die and i know i know in their minds they must have been thinking to themselves i know the plan doesn't make sense but this is all we got this is all we can come up with and as i began to watch it i began to see it unfolding but i promise you i'll finish the story but as i began to see this unfold i thought about a god of the universe that would come down with a plan to save a bunch of people there were sinners a bunch of people that had fell away a bunch of people that were disobedient a bunch of people that were complaining a bunch of people who didn't even know him didn't even act like they wanted him the bible says that he came to his old and his own received him not the plan did not make sense matter of fact it called the mystery of godliness which simply means it didn't make sense that a god of the universe would take it upon himself to say i am creator and i'm gonna make myself creation in order to save my creation it doesn't make sense it's a mystery that the angels couldn't even understand but this one god this great creator this lord of the universe i got to thinking about him as i'm watching this documentary i'm thinking to myself oh thank you for the plan that you developed ever since mankind sinned ever since man ever since adam and eve in the garden fell away you came up with this plan that nobody would understand but you loved us enough to give yourself i wish somebody would help me today because if you think back over your life and some of the things that you've done as i think back over the life of some things i've done and i think to myself god why in the world would you not just stay in heaven and let me die in the miseral sin that i brought on upon myself but he said oh no that's not the plan i've got another plan and although it doesn't make sense to you it doesn't make sense to the religious rulers of the day he said i've come to be a light in the darkness well surely he came to judge he said oh that's not why i came i didn't come to this world of judge when i was born in bethlehem when i grew up as a young child when i started my ministry at the age of 30 i didn't come to point my finger and tell you all the things that you're doing wrong i came to save you i came to change your life i came to add value to you where you had no value when jesus was born when jesus began to minister god began to use the man christ jesus to change lives i'm talking about miracles signs and wonders he was sick and tired of seeing the sick as they would die he was sick and tired of seeing those die in their sin he wanted to resurrect us and give us life bring hope to his people somebody just praise him in this place if you're thankful that you know the hope that's in christ jesus come on somebody paul the apostle paul preached about it jesus christ is our hope i just want to preach about jesus for a little while is that all right is that all right that the impossible became possible when jesus came to earth is it all right we preach about him just for a little while i began to think of the lepers in luke chapter 17 leprosy oh if you know about leprosy and maybe if this is the first time maybe you didn't grow up going to sunday school you may not know a whole lot about leprosy but i promise you one thing covered 19 doesn't compare to what leprosy did to people now i know listen i know people are suffering and i know people have suffered and i know people have died with covet but there was a disease called leprosy that was incurable and this leprosy was the ugliest disease it was a disease where you would lose your your sense of touch your sense of feeling not only that but but your skin would begin to rot in the very parts of your body the members of your body would begin to rot and fall often and these people would lose fingers and toes and their noses and ears would fall off anything that protruded would begin to fall off as their body would rot oh it was the ugliest disease and it was so obvious who these people were because it was something that they could not hide and maybe they just had the disease for a short period there was a levitical law they told them they had to wear certain things and they had to they had to cover their face in a certain way and they had to wear clothes that were torn in order for everybody to know just who they were when people would come there would come into their path they would have to they would have to shy away and they would have to start screaming unclean unclean and it was an impossible disease it was a disease that everybody looked at and if you got it they just understood you were gonna live out a miserable life and you were gonna die but this god who came to earth who looked at the impossible and as those lepers those ten lepers saw jesus i disbelieved they thought to themselves what manner of man is this that as we cry out unclean he keeps on walking towards us he keeps on walking oh my god doesn't he realize that we're unclean doesn't he realize that we have leprosy doesn't he realize that we're in an impossible situation doesn't he realize that we're in a situation that has segregated us from society nobody loves us nobody cares about us nobody wants us we're all by ourselves why is this man coming our way but as he got closer these lepers looked and they thought well is this the jesus of nazareth is this the son of david oh they begin to cry jesus thou son of david have mercy on us have mercy on me and jesus looked upon them and the bible simply says that jesus healed them and said go back to the high priest and show yourself and he's going to tell you that you're clean he's going to tell you that you're healed but i want you to look with me in luke chapter 17 and verse 13 because there was one there was one that came back to jesus there was one in verse 15 it says when he saw that he was healed turned back and with a loud voice glorified god and he fell down on his face at jesus's feet giving him thanks and he was a samaritan and jesus answering said were were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine they are not found they return to give god glory save this one stranger and he said unto him arise go thy way thy faith hath made thee whole now listen leprosy is not only one of the worst diseases to ever to ever to ever fill mankind but leprosy was also always it was always related to sin it was always something that if you saw somebody that had leprosy you just understood that they were a horrible person they were a person of sin they were they were a despicable person that obviously god god had to punish through leprosy and so when these ten were made whole and when this one returned to give god thanks i just believe i just believe that jesus was looking at this one now i said that wrong nine were healed but one was made whole we know the story nine were healed but one was made whole and when i began to research what what is the difference between healing and whole it's simple healing simply means that leprosy was no longer in their bodies but when you're made whole that means everything that you lost you got back everything was returned of you every wound every energy every star it was restored back to you mentally and emotionally sound that's what the word whole means oh i don't know if you realize it or not but in our society today there is more mental sickness than there has ever been in the past i can't always explain it it's probably something to do with the spiritual world is probably something to do with society and the fast pace we're trying to live and who we're trying to be and who we're not i don't know all the facts about it i just know that people are dealing with emotional scars people have things that have happened to them in their past and they can't outlive them they're still living in the place and the time of hurt but i want you to know today not only does jesus want to heal you he wants to make you whole not only does he want to take the very thing oh that caused you to be to be hurt to be sad to be bitter oh but he also says i want to take the very scar away from you and make you whole again i wish somebody in this room would just lift up their hand and say jesus i want you to make me whole again jesus i don't know what you can do it feels impossible the situation feels impossible but god i just know that this means that you're going to perform a greater miracle in my life he's able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask and i'll think that simply means he's able to do what we feel is impossible i could preach about i could preach about the woman at the well in samaria i could preach about a god who wrote himself in flesh and wasn't scared to mess with people and talk with people and commune with people in fellowship with people that everybody else thought were the lowest of the law everybody else thought how can you how can you have dinner with a zacchaeus how can you go home with somebody with a with a drug in it with an alcoholic with somebody who's addicted to pornography how can you go talk to people like that and jesus simply said i come to seek and to save the lost i'm coming for a people oh they might know that they're in an impossible situation but if they can ever get a hold of who i am the impossible becomes a miraculous situation and i thank god for that somebody clap your hands if you're thankful for the impossible turning out into a miraculous situation a woman at the well i'm not going to go in i'm not even going to the story if you've never read the story look it up google it it's an amazing story of a woman who the disciples couldn't believe that jesus was talking to disciples come upon jesus talking to this woman and think of themselves why not not only a samaritan but a woman here he is a jewish man a jewish rabbi if you will speaking to a samaritan woman not just the gentile speaking to a samaritan woman but oh when she thought her life was impossible when he started telling her i know what you've done i know how many men you've been married to i know the man that you live with today is not even your own oh my god you gotta imagine that woman inside of her something left inside of her as she began to think to herself maybe there is hope for me because he's telling me that there is hope this man we've heard of the christ we've heard of the messiah this man he states that he is the christ and he's telling me that i'm going to have another chance i don't know about you but that gives me hope in my situations when i feel that i'm in an impossible situation that oh god if you loved her enough to make your way into samaria the bible says that jesus said i must needs go through samaria come on he's looking for us do you see this he's looking for us where we're living somebody here today is saying but you don't know the sin that i'm living in it's not even where i was it's where i am today it's the oh it's the lifestyle that i lived brother erickson you don't even realize who i am today well i want you to know i may not realize it and i may not see it for what it is but there is a god who knows exactly where you're living there's a god who cares there's a god who sees there's a god who's going to respond and he says i must need go to first apostolic church of maryville today because there's somebody sin not on a well but sin on a pew that needs my anointing in their life that needs my healing in their life who needs a word of deliverance who needs a word of hope and he's going to show up but you've got to be willing to listen and be willing to turn your impossible into a miracle the woman with the issue of blood for 12 long years oh my god for 12 long years she put up with an issue listen i know i'm telling stories that you know i just got to build something inside of you because there's something in people of our generation that they think to themselves you know i i know what happened in the bible but they're not dealing with the same stuff that i'm dealing with oh really as if we got stuff going on in our bodies that's any worse that's going on in the body of this woman right here impossibilities tried everything tried every drug went to every doctor my god the bible says that she spent all and yet grew worse anybody living in those days tried everything went to the library and got every self-help book i could find on my addiction try to diagnose myself try to find doctors and psychologists and counselors and i've called every help 1-800 line i'm trying to get out of this in years and years i've spent everything i've had and i don't know which what your issue is it might be a sickness it might be a disease or it might be an addiction i don't know but i just know in a crowd this size there are people all of the above facing stuff and you're thinking to yourself i you know what i i hear of all these miracles and i know jesus did this and jesus did that well i want you to know that the more impossible you feel your situation is the bigger the miracle that's going to take place in your life because that's what god needs to perform a miracle he needs something impossible because it was if it was possible for us to take care of the issue there would no be no reason for a miracle i feel the holy ghost i feel the holy ghost started come upon me right here i wish somebody in this place would just close their eyes as tight as they could right now and just say god i'm sick and tired of rounding this bend every week of my life i'm sick and tired of going to the altar on sunday and dealing back with this on monday i'm sick and tired of getting doctors reports they tell me there's no hope i wish somebody right now would just make up in their mind god my situation is so impossible i'm going to take it out of my hands and i'm going to put it into your hands i'm going to give up on trying to fix it myself and i'm just going to say god have your will let the healing begin in my life right now 12 years here she is oh the story is so beautiful because we can see it we can visualize as jesus says there's a crowd of people thronging about jesus there's people bumping up to him on every side and as jesus is walking he's walking through he's walking down the dusty road and as he feels power leave his body in the very virtue the bible says he felt the virtue leave his body he thought something just happened it wasn't something that i did it was something that was done to me because she simply said if i can bite touch the hem of his garment but she didn't want anybody to see her because just like the leper she was unclean just like the leper she was living in obscurity she was by herself she was all alone i feel like i'm ministering to somebody here today she didn't have friends she didn't have family members to support her she was all by herself because in the levitical law that they still kept at that time she was considered unclean she thought i'm just gonna uh i'm just gonna creep up from behind am i i'm gonna i'm gonna sneak up on him i'm just gonna touch him because she understood that jesus jesus didn't even have to recognize that she was there that listen that's how much faith somebody has when you are at a point of desperation when you are at a point of desperation where you've tried everything and everything has failed you just finally say to yourself i'll tell you what the least i can do is get out in the road and at least touch the power that's walking by hey if nothing happens then nothing's changed from what i've already tried in the past but the least i can do is get out in the road and try to touch the messiah as he walks by and as she did jesus turns around and said who touched me he said who touched me as if there wasn't a thousand people that were bumping into him on his left and on his right yet he felt something he felt that power leave him and he knew what just touched me is not what's been touching me i've had people all around me and let me tell you something this helps me to know that i could come into the house of god and i can sit next to people that don't feel a thing that don't receive any power but i can receive power because it's not about the people that are touching jesus it's about those who come expecting to receive something when they touch the lord my god we can come into this place i'm preaching about miracles signs and wonders we can come into this house and not feel a thing matter of fact there's probably somebody i'm sure that's just sitting there going oh my goodness brother erickson we've heard these stories a thousand times i've still got a disease i i've still got an addiction we've heard this and there could be somebody sitting right next to you that's right now their faith is rising up and they're thinking within themselves well maybe if i could just touch him maybe if i could just get out into the street maybe if i could just get i know there's a lot of people and it's going to take in efforts i know it's going to take a sacrifice of praise i know i'm have to get on the road i'm gonna have to break through some things but if i could just touch the hem of his garment i can be made whole and the difference between you and the person sitting next to you is simply you're both touching jesus but when he has come expecting a miracle come on if you're expecting something give him praise right now come on give him thanksgiving in advance right now she was made a hole too but i want you to look in mark 5 and 34. jesus said her daughter thy faith hath made me whole go to the next part go in peace i believe somebody is into this place somebody has entered this place and you're like oh god i'm in any possible situation my child is three miles into this cavern they say there's no way to get my child out john fowler come here real quick i want to do something to you that i pray never happens to me but i'm feeling so sick to my body i want him to finish his message the opportunity that we have here this morning is for the lord to step in he's already here it's your attitude this morning people say well i've i don't get my miracle when i come to service and i don't get my deliverance when i come to service and nothing ever changes in my life when i come to service why is that it's how we approach the king to receive our miracle it's how we approach the king this morning on how we're going to receive our miracle if we come to receive our miracle and say god i come to the altar and nothing ever changes in my life god why will this cancer not leave my body god why will this why will my marriage never be made whole again why will my kids not come back it's all in the way you approach the king this morning if you approach him in unbelief i'm sorry to tell you you will leave here in unbelief but if you approach him this morning as the miracle worker if you will approach him as the blinded eye opener if you will approach him as one that can raise one from the dead this morning i believe if you approach him with the attitude that you can be delivered in this house this morning god is going to begin to put your marriage back together god is going to begin to put your finances back together god is going to begin to heal your family but you've got to approach him as the alpha the omega the beginning and the end come on now i know some of you are looking at me like i've lost my mind this morning but my scripture tells me that he is the author and he is the finisher of my faith you walked in here a drug addict this morning i serve a god that can take a pen out and say uh uh she might have walked in here a drug addict she might have walked in here the lowest person in the world but let me take my pen out because i'm going to write a new future come on home today somebody come on home today somebody that's brought in a bunch of baggage we want you here we want your eyes to be open this morning come on there's some faith that needs to be stirred up in here there's some miracles that need to be stirred up in here do you believe that he can do it you say just remain standing you say preacher you don't know what i'm going through this morning can i ask you when they said that lazarus was dead when they began to say that lazarus is graveyard midnight dead they said jesus if you would have been here sooner your friend who you love would not have died jesus walks on the scene sister erickson he's dead they said by this time he stinks he's so dead jesus walked in the room and said he's not dead sleepeth i've cold my god i've come to tell somebody this morning under the unction of the holy ghost i feel him right now there's some things the adversary has told you is dead but i've come to tell somebody this morning your dream is not dead your kids are coming back your ministry your ministry is not over you will preach again you will pray again you will sing again you will teach school again you will teach us sunday school again i think today we need to bring some kids home we need to get those kids out of that cave this morning we need to go in and rescue some things that we've let the adversary take from us this morning it's all in the way you approached him this morning it's all in the way you come looking for your miracle this morning it's all in what you asked for why don't we be radical in our thinking this morning why don't we really get it in our mind that we're not leaving here until we get a touch from god why don't we get it in our mind we're not going to leave here till we really feel our bodies healed a lot of times we we let our pride get in the way and we won't come to the altar and we won't beg god for what we need from god the answer is here this morning the miracle is here this morning it's all in how you want to leave here this morning i know there's a lot of sickness there's a lot of things going on this morning but i just believe if we'll call upon a name the bible says it's a name that is above every name we don't serve a god that we have to wonder is he going to answer us i just believe that we as people of god this morning just need to call out on the name we need to exercise the name this morning we need to begin to call upon jesus name for our situation this morning and believe that he is still a god that can stop cancer in his tracks he is still a god that can stop drug addictions he is still a god that can take that curse off your home this morning but it's all in what we do today i am telling you under the junction of the holy ghost this morning there are some things we need to take back this morning and we need to take them back boldly and we don't need to leave until we take those things back this morning when you walk into the room everything changes darkness when you walk into the room every heart starts burning and nothing else we worship you is oh jesus and when you walk into the room sickness starts to vanish every hopeless situation ceases to exist when you walk into the room you know jesus is okay come on right now can we reach over to a brother or sister right now i feel the spirit of lord in this place god is speaking so clearly in this service and i know it's on hope and restoration right now if we could pray for our brother and sister we don't know what they're facing this morning we don't know the issues going on at home or anything like that i believe there's a power of god in this place there is a spirit of hope there is a spirit of peace in this house that i believe the same spirit that is in this place can go home with you today the same spirit could go encourage you today come on i want to tell someone today you have not gone too far you have not you're not out of the reach of god because however far you've walked away from god god is willing to walk that that much further to go and bring you back home come on there is a spirit of restoration in this house come on hope can spread to your home today come on maybe you don't have your family with you this morning hope can go home with you hope can go and encourage you and and hope can go and change you today come on the spirit of the lord is in this place come on the spirit of the lord is in this place the spirit of the lord is in this house come on it goes much further it goes much further just with you it can go to your children come on your backslidden children today come on you can be worshiping in their place this morning come on the spirit of god is in this house hallelujah what is hope hope is believing your god is able to do it if you believe that god is able to do in your life you should be worshiping right now come on you're not hopeless because god's power is here you're not hopeless because god's strength is not diminished you're not hopeless because god is still the same yesterday and today and forevermore come on if god can restore the harlot god can restore you come on if god can help the sinner god can restore you if god can help the person the lady that was caught in the act of adultery god can do it for you today nothing is too hard for him hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah jesus hallelujah come on someone's getting in touch right now i know this has been an unusual message an unusual sermon but the ryerson is doing just fine and and thank you for praying for him today but god is ministering right now god is ministering right now i don't mean to keep pulling right now god is ministering right now come on one more time let's reach over to a neighbor let's reach over to someone right now god is ministering to those who need it right now god is in this house god is in this place hallelujah hallelujah i know we're so good at putting facades on we don't want anyone else to know but there are people here today that are hurting there are people here today who feel hopeless but the spirit of god is in this place to change someone's life hallelujah jesus hallelujah jesus hallelujah hallelujah jesus hallelujah hallelujah come on you may have a drug issue in your life it's no issue for jesus these are some of brother erickson's notes you may have a marriage issue but it's no issue for jesus come on you may have an alcohol issue but it's no issue for jesus come on you may have been abused but that's no issue for jesus you may have been neglected but it's no issue for jesus you may have depression and suicidal thoughts but it's no issue for jesus you may have a disease in your body but it's no issue for jesus we have a hope we have a hope this morning and it's found in the name of jesus christ it's found in the name of jesus hallelujah come on whatever you need that's in this house whatever you need it's in this place today and i'm pulling a little bit i'm pulling for someone today to just lift up your hands i know it's it may be difficult for you to do it because you look at what's going on in your life but if you lift your hands this morning and you would give god everything the only thing that god cannot fix is something that you don't give to god if you want to hold it in and you want to conceal god god cannot move in that situation but when you begin to open yourself up and you begin to say god i'm truly hurting lord god i'm truly i'm wounded in my life lord i i've caught i've let the spirit of offense come into my life lord and i i've let these things come into my life god and lord i i gotta have the strength today and the courage to give it to you lord i love you jesus thank you hallelujah come on if you need to give to the holy ghost this morning it's here for you today if you lift your hands if someone's around you this morning and you begin to ask him to say hey i need the holy ghost they'll pray you through right now because the holy ghost can do in your life the holy ghost can give you the hope it can give you the hope that you need
