Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Anointed by the Prophet
- Samuel takes the horn of oil and anoints David in the midst of his brethren, and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon David from that day forward.
- God's testimony of him stands in the sermon: I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
Scriptures: 1 Samuel 16:13; Acts 13:22
David Danced Before the Lord
- David dances before the Lord with all his might, girded with a linen ephod, and brings up the ark of God with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.
- Michal, Saul's daughter, looks through a window and sees king David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despises him in her heart.
- David answers her: it was before the Lord, and I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight — and he sets the ark in the midst of the tabernacle he has pitched for it.
- Of this man's seed has God according to his promise raised unto Israel Jesus himself: the worshipper's line runs to the Lord.
Scriptures: 2 Samuel 6:14-15; 2 Samuel 6:16; 2 Samuel 6:20-23; 1 Samuel 18:21; Acts 13:23; 2 Samuel 6:17
The House Full of Praise
- In his tabernacle the worshipper offers sacrifices of joy and sings praises unto the Lord; O clap your hands, all ye people — shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
- Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord; let them praise his name in the dance.
- The courses were set for it: four thousand praised the Lord with the instruments, and the singers were employed in that work day and night.
Scriptures: Psalm 27:6; Psalm 47:1; Psalm 134:1-3; Psalm 149:3; 1 Chronicles 23:5; 1 Chronicles 9:33
I Was Glad When They Said unto Me
- One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life — the sermon makes the house of God the worshipper's one desire.
- How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts; my soul longs, yea even faints for the courts of the Lord.
- Blessed are they that dwell in thy house; they go from strength to strength, and a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
Scriptures: Psalms (book-only, as spoken); Psalm 27:4; Psalm 84:1-2; Psalm 84:4; Psalm 84:7; Psalm 84:10
The Temple He Lives In
- The sermon remembers the anointed cherub: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created — praise was built into the making.
- And now the temple is the believer's own body: what, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you — so worship is not a place we visit but a life we carry.
Scriptures: Ezekiel 28:13; 1 Corinthians (book-only, as spoken)

turn with me in your bibles and music team stay right where you are turn with me in your bibles to first samuel chapter 16. and uh i just man what up i got up this morning i felt like something good was gonna happen in the service and already did you feel did you feel the power that just fell when the choir was singing did you did you feel that not i know we we we responded to it and we praised and worshiped but did you feel the actual power that fell during that time of worship i'm going to preach about that power today but first samuel chapter 16 verse 13 says then samuel took the horn of oil and anointed david in the midst of his brethren and the spirit of the lord came upon david from that day forward i read it in another translation that said and the spirit of the lord rushed upon david from that day forward i want that kind of spirit a rushing mighty spirit then turn with me to acts chapter 13 and verse 22 one more scripture in your hearing because somehow king david and i don't believe it's by accident but king david makes it into the book of acts i don't know about you but that's that's kind of cool to me i i love because that's the book of the bible where salvation is found and david finds his way into the book of salvation it says it says god said this he said i have found david the son of jesse a man after mine own heart which shall fulfill all my will now listen i i've preached many messages talking about david the man after god's own heart i've heard i've heard preachers preach i've heard so many different viewpoints on what that means and i love that because i want to be a man after god's own heart but look at that last line because the last phrase really jumped out and caught my attention because he said david is going to fulfill all my will y'all see that what does that look like for a man to fulfill all the will of god that intrigues me that david was to be the chosen one think about this jesus son of god son of man jesus thou son of david i don't think about that that god would choose this man what did he do this is what i'm preaching about i'm gonna i'm gonna bring it all together kind of in a nutshell and just kind of tell you what i'm gonna preach about before i even preach it but if you're here for the first time and you saw people dancing in this altar jumping up and down and you thought to yourself i've been to a lot of churches i've been to some concerts and some state fairs and ain't never seen anything like that take place we're going to preach about why that took place and and i'm going to go a little bit further because there's some of you that are second and third generation apostolics who have bought into the culture of being apostolic and you may not realize why you do what you do i was i was at strong tower i'm gonna let you be seen just a moment but i was at strong tower youth camp this year and i saw some young people dancing that i'd never seen dance before brother perdue and i thought to myself does that student even know why he's doing that now he may be doing it because everybody else is doing it because it's fun to do because when the when the beat gets going and the subs are pumping it it just feels natural but does he really realize why he is doing what he is doing and so i just want to preach it's a simple message it nothing it's simple it's just simply this worship why we do what we do worship that's my subject why we do what we do you may be seated give me a little more monitor if i'm gonna praise him and give me some room yeah if i'm gonna praise him oh give me some room i'm gonna dance i'm gonna sing i'm gonna lift my hands to my holy king if i'm gonna praise my jesus and give me some room put jesse like this a little bit more monitors yeah oh see i was born to worship in mighty power in holiness oh and i believe he's worthy of my praising so i will use my body for it's the temple of the lord and in keeping with kings amen i can't contain it anymore if i'm gonna praise him give me some room yeah oh if i'm gonna praise him oh give me some room i'm gonna dance and i'm gonna sing i'm gonna lift my voice to my holy king if i'm gonna praise by jesus give me some room you'll feel that way this morning i need a little room yeah oh i will shout his glory to the heavens down to the earth yes and tell them how the lord has blessed my soul is blessed my soul yes my heart is in a revival i'm gonna preach i'm gonna testify i am going to lift my savior may he be glorified if i'm gonna praise him yes give me some room yeah oh if i'm gonna praise him oh and give me some room i'm gonna dance i'm gonna sing i'm gonna lift my voice to my holy king if i'm gonna praise my jesus give me some room come on you know the song i want you to sing the second verse with me we've come to shout his glory say and i will shout his glories to the heavens into the earth and tell them how the lord has blessed my soul he's blessing me he's blessed me yes my heart is in a revival i'm gonna sing gonna testify i am going to lift my savior may he be glorified if i'm gonna praise him i film in this house give me some room yeah oh if i'm gonna praise him yes give me some room for i'm gonna dance and i'm gonna sing i'm gonna lift my voice to my holy king if i'm gonna praise my jesus yes if i'm gonna praise my jesus church family if i'm gonna praise my jesus give me some give me some room come on somebody praise him praise him like you need room praise them like you need some room why don't you wave your hands in a way that makes your neighbor a little nervous why don't you shout in a little way that makes a person sit next to you just a little bit nervous hey hallelujah hallelujah ooh somebody shout yes be seated if you can hallelujah my god it feels good in this place this is going to be easy how to preach when the holy ghost is moving like it is amen i believe today i want to set the scene just very quickly because i believe i have a word for someone today who's wondering why what is this all about why why does he want people to wave their hands when they worship what's what's the big deal why does there have to be why does it have to be so loud now listen it can't get loud enough for me i i'm either going deaf or my my ears haven't popped from the airplane yet i don't know simon love me i i i come in on sunday after flying and they're like he never thinks it's loud enough well just give me some time my ears will open up a little bit but i love it listen something about something about the movement listen david enjoyed loud praise i want to preach about david i love listen anybody else will love david something about david he listen everybody loved if you don't love david you don't love who israel loved because israel loved david for so many reasons well the first reason was because he cared about where the presence of god was amen i'm not going to go all the way back to his anointing you know the story of him being anointed among his brothers in the midst of his brethren and you you know what he went through his backstory if you will what he went through in the wilderness what he went through fighting a giant what you know those stories but there came a day and there was a long period of time many chapters in your bible that you'll read about david but there came a day when he became he finally became the king he was anointed long before but he finally became king of israel and when he became king he was the second king the first king king saul uh you know he he he he respected the tabernacle in gibeon he respected moses's tabernacle matter of fact he even used the ark of god where the presence of god he used the ark as a war machine he would take that box of gold to war and when he took it to war he would have the priests lead the army into battle and because the presence of god was there they would win the fight it didn't matter how strong the philistines were it didn't matter if the presence of god was there he would always be victorious amen but there came a day when god got sick and tired of being used as nothing more than a war machine because saul didn't care about god didn't care about god's ways didn't live for god he was using god as a tool to win a battle and one day god has said you know what i'm going to allow the philistines to win this battle and not only did the philistines win the battle but the ark was taken and and the philistines thought to themselves we we have taken the greatest artifact this is a box of pure gold or so they thought it was a it was a box of wood that was overlaid with gold but when they saw it they thought to themselves we have the power box we have that box that goes before the israelite army they thought that they had the greatest the greatest treasure of all time and and so they they took it but i don't have time to to go into the story but horrible things took place to the philistines and matter of fact they said we got to get rid of this box we don't want to mess with this no more we don't want anything to do with this thing we don't care how shiny it is we don't we don't care how much it's worth we got to get rid of the box and so for the pool they sent it back into israel like territory and and saul saul was king saul didn't even care that matter of fact the the ark was just stored in some random place for for years it was just stored there and and saul lost touch with he's he's going in and and he's going in onto witches the witches of endor he's going into he's going into a witch to try to get advice and he doesn't even realize that the box that god lives in is somewhere in storage but david the man after god's own heart the first thing he does as king is he says where is the box where is the ark we we we've got a tabernacle we've got everything going on the tavern where is the spirit of god because david said i don't want to rule a kingdom without the spirit of god ruling me and so he goes to fetch this ark and not only does he go to get it he doesn't go alone he brings 30 000 worshipers with him he he brings choirs and he brings orchestras and and he brings priests everybody comes along to go get the ark we've got to fetch the ark we've got to bring the ark into the city of david that's what david want to do he said he said jerusalem's going to be my capital i'm going to make this a place called zion and i'm going to bring the ark of god to this place called zion and so he he goes in and and sure enough he he sees that they've been transporting the ark on an ox cart so sister masa he doesn't get just any ox card the bible says that he got a new ox card he he spent money and had one built and i don't know what this ox cart looked like but i i would have to imagine if it had to do with david it was probably decorated pretty nicely it was probably a beautiful ox cart it's probably something that when it passed in the streets it was it was something that people looked and said wow there's the ark of god on that beautiful oxtart but that's not the way that god wanted to be transported that that was not how he told his priest he wanted to be transported because he wanted to be transported on the shoulders of priests we got to be careful not to look and see what others are doing with the presence of god and thinking somehow that god's going to turn his head or wink at the way we worship him just because everybody else is worship him in a certain way let me preach just for a moment listen i i'm not i'm not going to preach against things i'm just going to preach about things is that all right and you can make a decision if it's right or wrong but you can watch uh the the trinity broadcasting networking and you can see these great television evangelisms and you can see these great music groups and and you can see the lights and you can see the screens and you can see the way they worship i don't want to get my worship from the world i don't care how many tens of thousands they're pastoring i don't care how big their churches are i don't care how many books they've sold i don't care how nicely and politely they speak and and tell you that you're a good person i don't care about the way the world worships god because they are not us and we are not them and god expects something different from his people than he does from people that don't know who he is oh listen to me saint of god listen i'm not coming to you in a in a mean spirit or a bad spirit or judgmental spirit i'm simply saying when you've been baptized in the name of the lord jesus christ for the remission of your sins and you've got the holy ghost in filling you you can't worship any way you want to worship they can do what they do and they can get away with what they do and they may not be put to death but there was a young man named uzza he was the priest son who was riding next to the ark on the cart his job was simply to make sure that the transport was a successful transport but what he did is what god did not like he reached out and touched the ark and we can look at the situation and i gotta imagine that david probably looked at the situation and said god come on your ark was teetering back and forth your ark would have fell on the ground your ark would have busted into a billion pieces if oozo wouldn't have reached out and steadied it but god said i didn't ask you to bring my presence into your city on a cart i wanted you to put it on the shoulders of men of god who are sanctified and holy and living a priest's lifestyle i wanted to come in a certain way thank you david for 30 000 worshipers thank you for the stringed instruments thank you for the choir thank you for the awesome parts and the harmonies thank you for all that you did david but right now before we even get this thing started i want you to know you can't touch me any way you want to touch me and so who's the ties us a user you can you can pronounce it however you want to he dies and david says hold on we're gonna have to we're gonna have to take a detour house of obedient put the ark in the house over here we're gonna have to we're gonna have to do some research and find out exactly how god wants to be moved and so he comes back and uh the word gets out to david that hey hey dave the house of old edom they're being blessed they got more blessings going on in the house so we can't even tell you all the things that are happening to him and he's got a testimony you and believe and and david begins to research through leviticus and the levitical law and see exactly how god want to be transported so here we go here we go number two he comes back with his 30 000 worshipers because god like that and he comes back and he says now this time we're gonna put staves through the ark and and the priests are going to pick up that ark and we're going to be we're going to begin to march into the city of zion the way that god wants to be worshiped and so here they come here they come to the city of david and and i want to read in your hearing second samuel 6 and 14. the bible says as they begin to move the ark towards the city and david danced before the lord with all his might and david was girded with a linen ephod both of those things are important so david and all the house of israel brought up the ark of the lord was shouting and with the sound of the trumpet the very first thing we have to understand why we do what we do in worship is that we have david and david was the was the king that everybody loved but david wasn't ashamed to be unkingly i said david wasn't ashamed to be unkingly he wasn't ashamed to be undignified when he was in the presence of god please understand you might look around here and think that people are crazy why why did that lady come running up to the altar and begin to dance around why did people come out of the choir and begin to dance around we we don't care what anybody thinks when the presence of god is in our midst just like david david said i don't care what anybody thinks i i'm going to take off this royal robe i know this identifies me as king and ruler and leader and i know i've got a lot to prove but i'm gonna take this off and put on a worship garment and begin to praise god with all my might let me tell you something pride is the biggest blocker of the blessings of god there are people in this room that sit here today that pride has blocked you from things that god wanted to do in your life but god could not do them for you because you were ashamed and pride said i i i'm too well dressed to be doing that you know how much i paid for this suit you you know where i bought this suit you know where i got these shoes i i can't worry about getting shoes scuffed up some of you ladies got that dress and you bought that that dress i can't i can't afford it to rip out a seam in this thing but let me tell you something somewhere along the way we got to say god i don't care what i'm wearing i don't care who's around me i don't care what anybody thinks of me pride has got to go out the window when it comes to worship and praise i don't care somebody shout that out say i don't care because a true worshiper worships god with everything they are and that might not look the same with every person we got some elders in this room that can't worship like some of you young people can worship i said i got a little check i got a little life check i don't know what i did i can't i wish i could tell you that i'd done something great but lifted weights or something but i did something to my shoulder i probably slept on the wrong because i do like to sleep i do sleep on it there's something bad in my shoulder i don't know what i did probably need an mri probably to go to therapy before i get there so i can afford to pay for it my wife said amen but i want you to know that every time i lift my left arm it hurts so so i i could kind of start to relate to some of our elders that the i've always heard y'all talk about man there's some things that i can't do like i used to be able to do and i and as a young person you really can't relate to that you're just like wow wow you did you go play basketball and volleyball you can't even relate to that but i began this shoulder right here but the solvent's been trying to help me with it but but the shoulder the shoulder right here i get to a certain point and it's painful at that point and so brother always i make a point when i'm worshiping god it makes me mad because i think to myself listen you can't blame everything on the devil but if it was the devil and he's trying to get keep me from lifting my arms that ain't gonna happen this in this canvas as for me and my house it might be a little bit painful but man i get my arms up and i'll be honest i feel i feel that pain but i know some of you elders when you get out if you if you get out and dance in the aisle if you get out and sometimes just wave your hand i know there's pain going through some of your bodies i know that i'm starting to get old i know some that y'all laughing i'm almost a trendsetter i'm starting to feel those pains and feel that but i love david because david is getting he's getting in his years now when he becomes king he's not that young shepard boy anymore sitting on a rock writing psalms and songs he's not that young boy he's not the young boy fighting lions and and tigers and bears anymore if you get what i'm saying he's not he's not fighting goliath anymore he is now this man and he is over this kingdom but i want you to know the bible never talks about david find a line with all his might or find a bear with all his might the word of god says even nothing about him fighting goliath with all his might but when he got in the presence of god the bible says he worshiped with all of his might i don't know what that looked like i don't know what that felt like but they weren't on a card any longer he said every six paces we're gonna stop and we're gonna sacrifice and i'm gonna dance with all my might before the lord i'm kind to why we do what we do but one thing is for sure i will not allow pride to stop me from being a worshiper verse 16 says then as the ark of the lord came into the city of david michael saul's daughter looked through a window she's she is now the king's wife she looks through a window and saw king david leaping and dancing before the lord and the bible says she despised him in her heart but not only did she despise him in her heart uh second samuel 6 and 20. i'm going to read this from the message bible because it just makes a whole lot more sense it says david return home to bless his family michael saul's daughter which was obviously david's wife also came out to greet him and she says how wonderfully the king has distinguished himself today exposing himself to the eyes of the servant's maids like some burlesque street dancer david replied to michael in god's presence i'll dance all i want he chose me over your father i like that right there over your daddy and the rest of y'all and made me prayers over god's people over israel he says he says oh yes i'll dance to god's glory more recklessly even than this he said if you thought i was dancing you haven't seen nothing yet and as far as i'm concerned i'll gladly look like a fool but among these maids you're so worried about i'll be honored to the end and then there's just one more verse that's so sad but it says michael saul's daughter was bearing the rest of her life but we see here and i i found back i was studying this and back in first samuel 18 21 saul is speaking about his daughter uh and he says he says i will give david her that she might be a snare to him man old saul saul said hey yeah i'll let you marry my daughter cause apparently you don't know my daughter he said i i'm gonna isn't that just like the devil make you think like you're getting some great thing doing some great thing david thought he was getting some kind of a war trophy got this beautiful woman i'm gonna be the king's son-in-law and the whole time old king saul's saying i'm going to give it to him as a snare but then i but then i continue to read through the bible and in second samuel 6 16 you know the bible says we read it that mike hell saw david leaping and dancing before the lord and she despised them let me tell you something she didn't she didn't despise david she loved david bible talks about her love for david she despised his worship oh she can stand the fact that he would look like a fool before the people matter of fact that word there is like a gesture like you've seen you seen the digester that goes out in front of the parade you've seen it in europe a lot of times you'll see it and they're dressed kind of like a clown they got that along with the bell on the end of the long hat and and they're dancing like this right well that that's what that's what the hebrew dance looked like you know we danced like this we got the good two step down that's that's not what the hero dance looked like right they would have this big emotions and they would swing and do a i wish sister niece was here she could show us how to do these hebrew dances she said you look like a jester you look like a clown you look he said he said i don't care what people think of me because let me tell you something they love the worship they love the spirit they love what they feel when i worship and david told her those maidens and those people you're worried about thinking that i'm a joker and a clown and a gesture those are the people who respect me the most because he was creating a kingdom of people that respected worship so i i began to look in acts chapter 13 verse 23 speaking of david it says of this man's seed hath god according to his promise raised unto israel a savior jesus follow me with this because it's very important to see how god feels about worship despisers god knew exactly whose lineage his seed would come from he understood i'm gonna be born of this man named david but i want you to check this out because god chose to use the seed through an adulterous woman named bathsheba over a worship despiser named hell god said i would rather take a woman named bathsheba who comes in and commits adultery on her husband who's out to war i would rather my seed come through her than through this woman who despises worship matter of fact god said you'll never have a child the rest of your life you're not only going to be i'm not going to be not in your offspring you're not even going to have a child you're going to be bearing the rest of your life because god that's how god feels about worship despisers he's not condoning adultery he's simply saying i rather put my seed through a woman who makes a mistake and repents than through a woman who says i can't stand worship and i can't stand the fact that you're worshiping in front of the people i just want to preach why we do what we do verse 17 and second samuel sixes and they brought in the ark of the lord and set it in his place in the midst of the tabernacle that david had pitched for it and at the time that david does this at the time that david does this i want you to understand something that has david in this processional of 30 000 worshipers as they bring the ark to zion as they bring it to the city of david they pass by a city called gibeon and in this city called gibeon there is moses's tabernacle and there are still priests carrying out all the duties of the priest they're still sacrificing at the altar they're still washing in the labor they're still going into the holy place and there's still a candle stick there's still shoe bread they're they're doing everything that they're supposed to be doing they're giving altar of instance the incense is going up but let me tell you something there's nothing in the holy of holies it's empty because david is taking what belongs there to the city of david and i began to think to myself why i began to pray god why would you allow david to take the ark of god the mercy seat the presence of god why would you allow him to take that and not return it back where it belongs but instead take it to the city of david and i believe that god in prison i don't know this is a revelation or this was just something that god just began to speak to me but i began to believe that god wanted to be in the presence of david just as bad as david wanted to be in the presence of god and i believe that god saw this man and all through time you're gonna understand from adam from from god walking in the cool of the day with adam and eve from the point of sin and separation from that point on men began to pray to god but you're not going to see where men were openly worshipping god until david steps on the scene and i began to wonder god why did you allow him to take this ark and i've got to believe this is why because god wanted to be in the presence of his people and his people needed to feel the presence of their god and so god was willing to allow david to pass by gibeon and to pass by moses tabernacle and put his presence into david's tabernacle where it was like this all the people could come in and worship god freely they didn't have to wait for a priest to go behind the veil one time a year but they could openly step into the presence of god step into the sanctuary of god and worship god freely i don't know about you but as a worship leader there's something about that that overjoys my soul to think that we could be here today and be going through just a ceremony but instead the presence of god has made a decision i want to be among my people david's tabernacle it was different than moses's tabernacle worship had to be set forth because like i said one time a year the priest would go it would step into the holies of holies one man one time a year one sanctified man would get him behind and be in the presence of god but here we have now where david has opened up the holies of holies and has allowed mankind to be in the presence of this god and so i come to my point why we do what we do we have exuberant dynamic worship in the pentecostal church and some people they've got they've got some some weird ideas where that comes from and i know i've heard some people say you know well on azusa street in in los angeles california uh william seymour he was an african-american and he was our founder he was the one that was preaching the holy ghost fell there there in azusa street and because of that we have such great african-american roots and and because of that we have great worship in our services that's not why oh that helps i was in i was in kenya a couple years ago and i tried to explain to those those beautiful kenyan people i try to explain listen listen you guys are the greatest worshipers you're the greatest dancers i've ever seen i'm looking at a kenyan you guys are good dancers this white boy tried to dance with y'all it was it was a scary uh it was scary i got a video of it that i think i've already deleted i hope it's not on the social on the world wide web because it'll never go away but man i was trying to i was i was getting in line with them i was trying to dance and man they had their all the ladies were wearing white dresses and white hats and and boy they had all their emotions exactly together and and here i go again sorry but they were just just just no just just believe me it was awesome they were amazing man they were going back and forth and they even someone they had tambourines and they're bringing their tambourines back and forth and just in unison it was it was it was a beautiful thing and and they were amazing dancers but i got up before i said as good as dancers you are our pentecostal worship did not begin in kenya it didn't begin on this african continent although you are the greatest and you are the best you you have it you have it and you do it every service and you have church for six seven hours at a time and you worship the whole time even though you do it it do that was not the authentic worship the authentic worship took place with this man named david because he taught the people how to praise he taught him how to worship matter of fact he got you know there was sacrifices going on and there was a sacrifice of praise that was going on in david's tabernacle now there is sacrifice in animals oh in gibeon but in tab and david's tabernacle in psalm 27 and 6 the bible says and now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me and i will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy i will sing i will sing praises to the lord that's not in gibeon that's not in moses's tabernacle that's in david's tabernacle that's where he made a sanctuary in david's tabernacle the people clap their hands psalm 47 and 1 says oh clap your hands and shout unto god with the voice of triumph that's what they did in david's tabernacle in david's tabernacle the people lifted up their hands i'm trying to explain to you why we do what we do psalm 134 says behold bless ye the lord all ye servants of the lord which by night stand in the house of the lord lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the lord the lord that made heaven and earth bless thee out of zion that was david's tabernacle they danced in psalm 149 let them praise him in the dance let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and the harp it was in david's tabernacle in first chronicles 23-5 more over 4 000 were porters and 4 000 praise the lord with instruments which i made and david said to praise him therewith it was david in his tabernacle he made sure that people had a way to worship their god first chronicles 9 33 and these are the singers the chief of the father the levites who remaining in the chambers were free which simply means they had no other job for they were employed in that work day and night this is what simply means david thought to himself if angels day and night are gonna cry holy holy holy is the lord god almighty if that's gonna take place in heaven i just believe david said hey whatever's done in heaven we gotta make sure it's happening here on earth and so he employed he said i need a hundred of y'all i need to i'm not gonna ask you to even volunteer i'm gonna pay you to come and work first shift and then there's gonna be another hundred on you're gonna come into this thing story you're gonna work second shift and and then we're gonna bring another third shift the midnight men we're gonna put you in here to where there is not a time of the day or night that goes by where somebody is not praising or worshiping god i love that david himself was creating this atmosphere of worship he was creating this this worship experience he was creating a place where we mirrored heaven with earth oh i'm so thankful david said i was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the lord that was david's tabernacle that was not moses's tabernacle psalm 27 and 4 says one thing have i desired of the lord that will i seek after that i may dwell in the house of the lord all my life in psalm 84 1 says how amiable are thy tabernacles o lord of hosts my soul longeth yea even fainteth for the courts of the lord my heart and flesh cry out for the living god verse 4 says blessed are they that dwell in the house they will be still praising thee sila verse 7 says they go from strength to strength every one of them in zion appeareth before god verse 10 says for a day in thy courts is better than do you see his passion for worship do you see where you see where this one man this man after god's own heart this one man oh we've already had history we've already been through knowing the flood we've already been all through abraham we've been all through moses we've been all through time all this history but all of a sudden this young the youngest son of jesse all of a sudden he's out watching his father's sheep and he starts to come up with these big ideas maybe i could start a choir that would sing praises to god come on think with me this is this is not in the bible you're not going to find this in the bible but you got to know you got to look at the backstory of these of this young man he's all by himself he has all kinds of time to daydream and to think up ideas he was a creator this young man he was brilliant david and he began to think to himself you know what i bet i can make a musical instrument and i bet i could begin to play songs that would minister to people and would minister unto god and from chase conan from that young person all by himself watching sheep all alone he came up with these brilliant ideas he was a creative if you will he came up with these brilliant ideas and don't you know that when he marched the ark of god into zion he was thinking to himself i've been dreaming about this for a long time but it's finally coming to pass i finally got my choir together i finally i've got an orchestra now did you hear the verse i read he was making some 4 000 instruments this was not some solo worshiper some island worshiper gonna going to go home and worship god all by myself me and god got our own thing going oh no david said i'm gonna involve as many people as i can in this worship experience i refuse to worship god alone because god is a creator of all things and a god who creates all things wants to be worshipped by all things david was the first worship leader that took god out of a ceremony and put him into a worship service thank god for gibeon thank god for moses tabernacle if it wasn't for moses tabernacle we wouldn't even understand the process of salvation it was a type and shadow of our new testament salvation we understand it got us into the presence of god thank god for that tabernacle that was there in gibeon but i want you to know it was david that fulfilled the role that lucifer was created to do think about this matter of fact look with me look with me because this is very important ezekiel chapter 28 verse 13 lucifer god created he had a whole host of angels matter of fact one third of the angels were created to do nothing but give god worship and i believe those i believe it was that one third of the angelic body it was their job to sing it was their job to play musical instruments they were the worshipers of god in heaven but we know the story we we understand the story that lucifer fell from heaven he got two he got too enamored with himself and i i want you to see why he did in verse 13 the bible says thou has been in eden talking about lucifer the garden of god every precious stone was thy covering the sardis the topaz the diamond the barrel onyx jasper sapphire emerald carbuncle and gold the workmanship of thy tambraits looking like tambourine it's kind of a drum and of thy pipes that that's a musical instrument was prepared in thee in the day the thou was created we're talking about lucifer we're now let's get get your mind get your mind off a little red thing with ears and a pitchfork and a pitch tail and get your mind off that okay we're talking about lucifer as he was created by god in heaven beautiful every beautiful stone we the majority of us including myself i don't even know what half of these stones even look like these are the most beautiful stones on earth but this was what this was what what lucifer was created as he had two defining attributes number one he naturally displayed beauty he was attractive to the eye and the second thing he naturally created an atmosphere of worship lucifer was an angel that had music built into himself his very being was an instrument think about this see he didn't play instruments he was an instrument when he breathed music would come out everything he did the the timber the the the sound of the drum the beat you say why do we have drums well drums are very biblical symbols are very biblical why do we have string instruments they're very biblical believe it or not that is a stringed instrument it's a it's electronic version of a stringed instrument we realize that right just making sure very biblical but then you think about it lucifer satan the devil whatever you want to give a name to him he failed to do what he was created to do so god in his place and the third of the angels that fell with him in their place two things he created people because he needed somebody to profess the beauty of holiness that's us there's beauty and holiness y'all this is not my topic and i wish i had time to talk about it but let me tell you something there is beauty in holiness and two the second thing mankind was created do was to be worshipper the worshiper of god and take the place of lucifer who could not do his job beauty and music i want you to think about this god create us with a diaphragm that pushes air up out of the lungs through a pipe our vocal cords out of your mouth every single person in this place was created as an instrument come on if you're a singer in this place you're a living instrument just like you blow air through a tuba and you get a noise out the horn air comes up out of our trachea it goes up through our resonators our nose our lips our mouth comes out and becomes a beautiful sound we can articulate that into words in every language of worship that's why the bible says listen just make a joyful noise unto the lord you don't have some people like i don't sing because if you heard me sing you tell me not to sing as if god like listens to tone and oh i i accept your worship because you you got good tone oh you're a little pitchy we're gonna push you off to the side god god is not simon in the sky god just says use the instrument that i gave you allow that air to come up out of your lungs brother malone are you glad to have lungs every time i look at you i i see a living testimony back there i know i preach about him all the time but listen i was in the hospital room when they had on that ventilator and they had that table that was rocking his whole body he was strapped to a table that's rocking him back and forth he wasn't on a bed he was on a on a piece of wood and it was rocking him back and forth trying to keep the fluids of his body not setting up in his body his lungs had collapsed he i told you this before but i'm alone i walked in there i saw your wife i thought that's about to be a widow right there i was already feeling sorry for your widow let me tell you something if if you've ever had something happen your lungs you couldn't breathe the way you wanted to breathe if you can breathe today you better allow that air to come out of those lungs and you better give god praise like you've never given god praise you've been allowed that diaphragm to push up against those lungs and allow those lungs to slur air out of your trachea and through your resonators and out your mouth you want to just say god i will bless your name at all times i'll give you praise in your sanctuary i'll lift up my hands i'll shout oh if you've got air in your body the bible says let everything that hath breath praise ye the lord come on somebody in this place you could be dead right now your lungs collapsed you had covered you're on a ventilate you gave me your testimony he was on a ventilator for some 30 days he was in the hospital for 90 days with coven but god brought him out of life if you have breath in your body this is why we do what we do we were created we were created to be worshippers we were created to be musical instruments we were created to let noise come up out of us and give praise to our creator i oh the holy ghost in this place come on family come to the keyboard i feel the holy ghost in this place i want to move on but i want you to know if you're here today and you've always wondered what's this worship all about you want to try it you want to give it a try you want to just begin to praise god i'll dance before the lord i'll shout praises unto god i'm going to do what i was created to do this is what i've been called to do this is what every person in this room has been called to do to give god praise with everything you are stand if you're not standing stand your feet this is why we do what we do and i realize that everybody doesn't get it sadly realize that you say well you're up there you're our worship leader you're supposed to sweat y'all we're in california i think it was 106 degrees south of fresno i've never sweated so much in my life i i don't know i might have to throw all my suits away that's how bad it was that trip cost me that trip cost me a lot but it didn't stop me i could have just stood there yeah i could have just stood there and exhorted the people and tried to get him to do something i can't i can't do it y'all i don't care i don't care if there's five thousand i i had an evangelist come up to me after the conference was over and he said listen he said i he said i've always looked up to you but he said listen it's nowhere near the level i do now because i see you lean worship in national youth convention he said i'll i see you leading worship he said he said to thousands on the weekend and i i claim that by faith he said i see you leading worship he said but you came to our western district to our young people here who are in the they're in the middle of nowhere y'all they're so far thousands of miles away he said and you led worship with the same amount of energy that you do in front of five thousand people at national youth convention i'll be honest with you i was a little shocked at him tell me this i was thinking to myself how else would i lead worship like i don't know i don't do it because the number of people i i'm gonna preach the same message whether there's five or five thousand i'm gonna sing the same song with this five or five it doesn't matter a bit to me but i think that there's a there's there's a thought process of people that think well it's sunday morning and this is you know tonight sunday night we'll praise god oh we'll shout with the choir tonight boy they'll be singing those big hot and heavy songs tonight we'll shout come on somebody i know i look like a fool when i worship i don't care i know i gotta take my clothes a dry cleaner like every week i don't it's okay it's worth it it's worth it because if you ever get into exuberant worship david king david type worship if you ever feel that feeling and know what that feels like to praise god with everything you are because he's been so good i said he's been so good i cannot tell at all i can't sit back and have a laid-back worship service i got to give him praise i got to give him glory david said whoa come on brother doug david said michael if you think that was worship you ain't seen nothing yet if you thought i was praising when we brought the arkham you ain't seen nothing yet come on praises i i wish we could just fill this altar with praisers and worshipers people that know what it feels like to be redeemed people with a nose like to be set free i've been baptized i've got the holy ghost hey if you don't have the holy ghost today i want to offer you something peter stood up with the eleven instead repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of jesus for the remission of sins and he said you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost i feel it i feel it the power is not only wanting to sit upon you the powers want to get inside of y'all it's my i got a question for you come on shouters i got a question for you how would david have shouted if the holy ghost would have been inside of him instead of arms hey the bible says that from the moment that he was anointed the spirit of god rested upon him the spirit of god is not rested upon me the spirit of god is inside of me paul said what know ye not that your body is the temple of the holy ghost he said god doesn't have to live in a city in a country god can live inside of you paul said we are now temples we are now vessels then the spirit of god you want to just praise him in this place if you're a field of the holy ghost you want to just give him glory in here you want to get embraced out of the shut up uncle come on somebody in your holy ghost field begin to speak in another language come on i know you look crazy i know you look crazy but it's okay you'll gain the respect of the people by the way you worship you'll gain respect of people by the way you worship go ahead team go ahead he didn't me sure out hold on hold on hold on hold on bibble says that every six paces they took a bullet and they sacrificed it unto god maybe listen that wasn't even levitical you're not gonna find that in your bible i'm sick and tired of people saying that the next generation will never be what the past generation was because david was a living proof strong tower youth youth youth ministries david was living proof that nobody before him had ever marched six paces and then sacrificed he did that on his own because he had a relationship with god that was his own he was not a grandchild of god he was the son of god he wasn't just any he was a chosen generation he was a part of a royal priesthood that should show faith and favor i'd say listen i now we praised but come on i just want us to lift up our hands right now come on we've worshipped music team we've worshiped we've shouted come on i just want us to lift up our hands now because clapping and dancing comes easy but lifting our voice in worship that's a little bit harder come on it's easy to dance it's easy to speak in tongues if you've got the holy ghost it's easy to clap your hands that comes naturally but i want you just to give god praise from your lips come on we're in the sanctuary in zion we're in the sanctuary in zion hey i serve a wonderful god i serve almighty god come on tell your creator how good he is tell your creator what he's done for you there's nobody like my god there's nobody like my god nothing can compare to him nothing can compare to him no one can compare to him come on and tell him tell your god tell your god how you feel about them and then when you can't contain yourself any longer speak in that heavenly language when you can't contain yourself any longer speak in the tongues of angels come on you're praying for things you're praying in the spirit for things you don't even know to pray you're praying for situations you don't even know to pray when you pray in the spirit lucifer if you won't praise god we'll praise god i said lucifer if you won't praise god we'll praise god and the bible says if we don't praise god the very rocks and the stones will cry out come on we got to do what we were created to do lucifer couldn't do it but we've been created to do it we worship you in spirit and truth we worship you in spirit and in truth come on i hear a beautiful sound it's a sound of believers it's the sound of the redeemed it's a sign of those with a testimony giving honor to god i wish it was a little bit louder i wish it was just a little bit louder i wish some of you who haven't prayed yet and haven't praised yet i wish you would lift your voice loud enough so you can hear yourself praise i wish you would lift your voice loud enough that you can hear your own self praise come on i don't want the stones and rocks to cry out i don't want creation trees trees weren't built and made to worship we were created to worship rocks and stones were created to worship we were created to worship i refuse to allow something else to do what i was created to do i worship you jesus yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes i will sing praises unto the lord i will clap my hands unto the lord i'll shout in the god with the voice of triumph i'll lift my hands in the sanctuary oh lift my hands i'll i'll dance unto the lord i'll sing praises unto him with the timber on the harp yes i'll praise you a song i'll praise you with instruments i'll lift up my voice singers and choirs we give you praise tonight okay oh god i was glad when they sent unto me let's go dance before the lord with all of our might i was glad when they said unto me let's lift up a shadow praise i was glad when they said unto me we're going to run the isles today one thing have i desired of the lord behold i seek after this one thing that i might dwell in the house of the lord all the days of my life come on i'm not going to cheerlead you i just want to see what breaks out in this place i'm going to see what it breaks i want somebody in this place to lift up a sacrifice of praise i don't know if you have an arm that when you lift it it gives you pain or maybe when you dance you feel pain in your body or maybe when you just stand up come on i wish somebody would give him a sacrifice of praise even when it hurts come on even when there's discomfort in your body come on i know there's people in this room we've got helmets we've got sicknesses there's diseases but oh my god i'm gonna give this to you right here lord i wave my left arm i feel pain but i don't even care terrible i want to do something that cost me something i want to worship in a way that cost me something yes come on i wish you'd pray for somebody nearby you if you're standing near somebody that you know needs the holy ghost so you think they might need the holy ghost come on why don't we pray for one another right now may the spirit of god not only rest upon you let it fill your life come on the spirit of god is looking for a different kind of tabernacle today he was happy with david's tabernacle in the old testament but come on we live in the new testament come on we live under grace there's salvation in this place hey he's looking for a temple he's looking for a fleshly temple he's looking for a temple of flesh and blood he wants to fill you he wants to get in your life he wants to make all things new let the river of life flow through you right now if you don't have the holy ghost i believe right now could be your day this could be your hour receive ye the gift of the holy ghost be filled with the holy ghost hey yes yes yes yes yes come on pray over one another i believe there's healings in this house i believe when there's enough worship that goes up where the glory comes up there has to be a blessing that flows down come on there's a healing power in this place there's restoration in this house today come on the healers in the house the healers in the house making the praise begin to worship oh yes he is here he's here he's here he's here he's here come on he's here he's here he's here ah come on we shut up right on time the presence of the lord is in this place the presence of the lord is in this place where jesus says anything can happen nothing is impossible hereby healing is here healingness here and i believe it oh any believers in the house healing is here be healed shannon wilson in jesus name
