Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Preached at First Pentecostal Church North Little Rock on Tuesday night, December 2, 2025. The text is Acts 2:46–47, the daily rhythm of the first church — continuing daily in the temple and breaking bread house to house, while the Lord added to the church daily. Copeland draws the exchange plainly: when the people did what they were supposed to do daily (verse 46), God did what only he could do daily (verse 47).

Against that rhythm he sets the cycle too many believers live in: victory on Sunday, bound again by Monday, delivered Tuesday from what they prayed through on Sunday night — a continuous loop of victory and defeat. The alternative is not a bigger event but a daily practice. A red-hot apostolic service can break chains, take away addiction, and lift depression, but its fruit has to be carried by daily prayer and daily church life — he honors the people on the church's daily prayer log as the heroes of the congregation and the reason victory can be felt when the church gathers. He reads the moment culturally, too: in a post-COVID world where churches have closed and sold their buildings because people discovered they preferred church from a couch with coffee and donuts, simply assembling — getting your flesh to church when things are good and when they are bad, happy or sad — has become a decisive act.

The close is aimed at the calendar. It is the middle of the holiday season; many who are present are mentally on vacation, and the flesh wants to sit back, relax, and eat until January. He asks what would happen if, going into the new year, the church cranked it up instead — making a commitment in December, doing the opposite of what the flesh wants, and pushing in prayer on a Tuesday night. The service ends in that altar push.
