Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The text: a generation that would not respond

  • Copeland reads Matthew 11 from verse 15: Jesus likens His generation to children in the marketplace — "We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented" — then upbraids Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum, because the mighty works done in them would have brought Tyre, Sidon, and even Sodom to repentance.
  • He adds Matthew 13:58: "He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
  • His announced subject follows from the text: "Does it take too much to move you?" — the people who get something from God are the ones hungry enough to respond to His presence rather than needing to be pushed and prodded.

Scriptures: Matthew 11:15; Matthew 13:58; Ezekiel (book-only, as spoken)

Religion had taken the place of God

  • Jesus came to a nation that had waited thousands of years for Messiah, yet the religious people were so wrapped up in rituals and reputation — praying on street corners and disfiguring their faces when they fasted, all for show — that they did not recognize God manifest in the flesh standing among them; religion had taken the place of God.
  • Jesus told them it would be more tolerable at the judgment for the Gentile cities they despised than for them, because those cities would have repented in sackcloth and ashes had they seen what Israel saw (he notes the prophecy of Ezekiel 26 against Tyre). John came one way and they complained; the Son of man came another and they complained — it took too much to move them.
  • The warning lands at home: people who know who Jesus is, know why they must be baptized in His name, and sit through service after service and experience after experience — unto whom much is given, much is required; believers are debtors to everyone around them to carry the gospel out.

Scriptures: Ezekiel 26

Grow out of the old coat

  • The past year had revealed whether people's prayer lives were what they claimed; excuses about school and work fell away, but did the prayer life grow?
  • Samuel received a new coat every year because he kept growing; God has a new anointing and a new calling, but until there is growth, the same old coat stays on. The need is not a new message — the church already has the only saving truth — but hunger: an old-time revival of prayer, conviction, and consecration.
  • The altar appeal runs to the end of the upload: it ought not to take begging to make a saved person lift their hands — remembering His mercy and grace is enough reason to respond; God is calling His people back to their first love, to put Him first as at the beginning.

I want to say again what an honor it is to be here with you all. I love being in Dayton. I always enjoy being here with you all at this church. I love Brother Smith, Sister Smith, and their kids so much. like I said Sunday, I've been around here for years, and Jordan have been some of my closest friends growing up. I love them very much. I love this whole family. I like being around people who know how to have a good time, but they also know how to be a Christian at the same time. And that to me is the definition of the Smiths. there's really no more fun people to be around. I just love them very much. I will be more brief tonight than I was on Sunday. I was reminded by Brother Jordan today that I wasn't quite as short as I thought I was going to be. So, I do apologize for that. but I will do my best to be shorter tonight. I do believe tonight that those who get something from God are those who are hungry to get something from God. I believe if you're here tonight and you're hungry for God to do something for you, I want to tell you I believe with all my heart that you can leave with whatever it is that you need in this place tonight. We read in the book of Ezekiel where the people That's not my text for tonight. You don't have to turn there. I guess I'm already being longer than I should be. but we read in the book of Ezekiel where the people were instructed to come in one door, and they went out the other. And I believe spiritually speaking, that's the same way we ought to be. We ought not to leave this place the same way that we came in, but every time we come through those doors, there ought to be something deep down on the inside of you that says, "God, I want to learn something new about you. I want to experience something in your presence. I need something to change deep down on the inside of me." Hallelujah. Let's go to Matthew chapter 11. Matthew chapter 11, starting with verse number 15. "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is likened unto children sitting in the markets and calling unto their fellows and saying, 'We have piped unto you, and you have not danced. We have mourned, but you have not lamented.' John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say he hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a man gluttonous and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.' But wisdom is justified of her children." Then began he, he being Jesus, to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done. Why? Because they repented not. "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! Woe unto thee, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of the judgment than for you." Verse 23, "And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works which had been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day. But I say unto you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of the judgment than for thee." Go to Matthew chapter 13, verse number 58. It's the last verse of that chapter. It simply says this, "And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief." He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. I believe that we would get more out of our church services if when we came to this house, we were ready to worship, and we were ready to respond to what the presence of God wanted to do. I just don't believe tonight that it ought to take too much pushing and and prodding for us to get you to respond to the presence of God. But I believe you could get what you needed if when YOU CAME INTO THIS HOUSE, YOU SAID, "GOD, I'M HERE. I'M READY TO RESPOND TO THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD. WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU WANT TO DO IN ME TONIGHT, GOD, I'M READY TO RECEIVE IT." HALLELUJAH. I'm going to be preaching for a few minutes on this subject, "Does it take too much to move you? Does it take too much to move you?" Would you help me pray? God, I love you, Jesus. I appreciate your presence that I feel in this place. God, I'm asking you to do

what only you can do in this place tonight. God, hide me behind the cross of Calvary, Jesus. Don't let me GET IN THE WAY TONIGHT, LORD. I want to BE NOTHING MORE THAN YOUR mouthpiece in the name of Jesus. Everybody shout in Jesus name. And you may be seated. Jesus came to Israel with the revelation. He came with the greatest truths that had ever been revealed to mankind. We know tonight who Jesus is. He was the God of the Old Testament who came to the earth as a baby boy, and he became something that he had never been before. But at the same time, HE DID NOT CEASE TO BE EVERYTHING THAT HE HAD EVER BEEN. And I want to tell you tonight that Jesus Christ, HE MAY HAVE BEEN WRAPPED IN FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT JUST LET ME REMIND YOU TONIGHT THAT THAT DID NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THAT HE WAS STILL GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH. AND AND HE MAY HAVE BEEN WRAPPED IN FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT JUST LET ME REMIND YOU THAT JESUS CHRIST STILL HAD JUST AS MUCH POWER AS HE HAD EVER HAD BEFORE. HE came to the earth wrapped in flesh AND BLOOD, BUT HE was still the Alpha and the Omega. He was still the beginning and the ending. And when he came to the earth, when he came to the Jewish nation, these people had been waiting for thousands of years for the Messiah to come. the prophecies in the Old Testament, if you read throughout your Bible, you will see so many things in the Old Testament that spoke about the THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH. BUT WHEN Jesus came and the religious people met him, THEY WERE SO WRAPPED UP in who they were, and they were so wrapped up in in their rituals and their religion that they did not even recognize WHO IT WAS THAT THAT WAS AMONG THEM. AND THEY FELT THAT THEY DID NOT NEED any improvements where they were. AND THEY FELT THAT THEY WERE OKAY TO REMAIN IN THE SAME SPOT THAT THEY ALWAYS HAD. WE SEE THAT THEY LAUGHED AT OTHERS WHO WERE LESS FORTUNATE than them. AND THEY FELT THAT THEY HAD A MONOPOLY ON GOD. AND I BELIEVE MANY OF THEM THOUGHT THAT IT REALLY DIDN'T MATTER WHAT THEY DID, THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BE OKAY WITH GOD BECAUSE OF THE RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES THAT THEY DID. AND AND RELIGION HAD TAKEN THE PLACE OF GOD. AND HOW YOU WERE PERCEIVED BY EVERYBODY ELSE THAT WAS AROUND YOU WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAN ACTUALLY HAVING A WALK WITH GOD. AND EVEN WHEN THEY PRAYED AND EVEN WHEN THEY FASTED, IT WAS FOR NOTHING MORE THAN FOR SHOW, FOR THE PEOPLE THAT WERE AROUND THEM. AND AND THE BIBLE SAYS WHEN THEY PRAYED, THEY WENT ON THE STREET CORNERS, AND THAT WAS WHERE THEY PRAYED. WHY? BECAUSE EVERYBODY COULD SEE THEM ON THE STREET CORNERS. AND THE BIBLE SAYS WHEN THEY FASTED, THEY DISFIGURED THEIR faces cuz they wanted everybody to know just how spiritual they were. So, this is who Jesus meant when he came to save a lost and a dying world. And after he had studied them, after he had been around them for quite some time, the Bible says Jesus likened them unto children that were playing games in a marketplace. He likened the religious people of the world unto children that were sitting in the markets and calling unto their fellows. Why? BECAUSE THEY WERE PLAYING GAMES with sacred things. THEY THEY WERE NOT BEING SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS ABOUT. AND WE SEE WHERE JESUS SAID, "WE'VE PIPED UNTO YOU, BUT YOU HAVE NOT DANCED." HE SAID, "WE'VE MOURNED, BUT YOU HAVE NOT LAMENTED." HE SAID, "WE'VE DONE THESE THINGS TO TO TRY TO STIR SOMETHING DEEP DOWN ON THE INSIDE OF YOU. AND WE'VE DONE CERTAIN THINGS TO TRY TO GET YOU TO RESPOND THE WAY THAT YOU OUGHT TO, BUT IT HAS NOT PRODUCED THE CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE THAT IT OUGHT TO HAVE PRODUCED." AND AND WHAT JESUS TOLD THEM MADE THE JEWS ANGRY. TO TELL THEM THAT THEIR RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY WAS NOTHING MORE THAN CHILD'S PLAY. But what made them really mad, bear with me for a minute, is is when he compared them to the Gentile nations that they so despised. to compare them to these people that they so looked down their noses upon. And Jesus told them, he looked at his people. He said, "It's going to be better for them at the judgment than it will BE FOR YOU." WHY? BECAUSE IF THEY would have seen the things that you have seen, AND IF THEY WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED, LET ME TELL YOU, THEY WOULD HAVE REPENTED LONG AGO IN SACKCLOTH AND ASHES. AND I JUST WANT TO PREACH TO YOU FOR A MOMENT TONIGHT AND TELL YOU THERE ARE PEOPLE ALL OVER THIS WORLD THAT IF THEY WOULD FEEL THE PRESENCE OF GOD THAT YOU HAVE FELT EVEN HERE TONIGHT, IF THEY WOULD HAVE HAD THE EXPERIENCES IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD THAT YOU HAVE HAD, THEY WOULD HAVE REPENTED LONG AGO IN SACKCLOTH AND ASHES, BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO PRODUCE THE CHANGE IN OUR LIVES

THAT IT OUGHT TO PRODUCE. LET ME REMIND YOU WHO those people were that Jesus was speaking to. These were the people that had seen the miracles. These were the people that had seen the signs and the wonders. THESE WERE THE PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH JESUS HIMSELF. BUT BUT WHEN THEY WOULD RECEIVE A REVELATION FOUND IN THE WORD OF GOD, AND WHEN THEY WOULD WHEN JESUS WOULD TELL THEM SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE IN PREVIOUS GENERATION WOULD HAVE GIVEN ANYTHING TO UNDERSTAND, IT SEEMED TO GO IN ONE EAR AND AND RIGHT OUT THE OTHER. I KNOW WHERE I AM TONIGHT. I KNOW THE GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT I'M PREACHING TO. I'M PREACHING TO PEOPLE TONIGHT WHO KNOW WHO JESUS IS. I'M PREACHING TO PEOPLE TONIGHT WHO KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE. I'M PREACHING TO PEOPLE TONIGHT WHO KNOW WHY YOU MUST BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. BUT LET ME REMIND YOU TONIGHT THAT UNTO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS REQUIRED. THERE IS A RESPONSIBILITY THAT WE HAVE. IT'S NOT THE WILL OF GOD TO COME EVERY SERVICE AND SOAK UP THE GOOD THINGS OF GOD AND NEVER GO OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY AND THEN SHARE IT WITH THE PEOPLE THAT ARE AROUND US. I AM CONVINCED WE ARE DEBTORS TONIGHT TO EVERYONE WHO IS AROUND US, TO THE PEOPLE YOU PASS ON THE JOB, TO YOUR FRIENDS AT SCHOOL. WE'VE GOT A RESPONSIBILITY. GO YE THEREFORE AND TEACH ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY GHOST. GO YE THEREFORE AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE. I JUST BELIEVE WE AS those who hold the truth of God, we've got a job to do. I've heard it said many times that well, if if God wants them to be saved, then guess what, the Lord will draw them. The Bible does say where Jesus said, "I, if I be lifted up from THE EARTH, WILL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME." BUT WE ALSO FIND that the last sermon Jesus Christ ever preached on this earth was a sermon about evangelism. It was a sermon where HE SAID, "GO YE." HE TOLD THEM, "IT'S YOUR JOB NOW TO SHARE THE GOSPEL." BUT BACK TO OUR TEXT, Jesus compared the Jews with these Gentile nations THAT THEY SO DESPISED. HE TOLD THEM, "IT'S GOING TO BE BETTER FOR THEM AT THE JUDGMENT THAN IT WILL BE FOR YOU." And we see the prophecy in Ezekiel chapter 26 against this city where God told the prophet to tell THE PEOPLE THAT BECAUSE YOU HAVE LAUGHED AT JERUSALEM, I'M GOING TO SEND the armies of the world against you and and they're going to THEY'RE GOING TO DESTROY YOU. AND BY THE TIME THEY'RE DONE WITH YOU, THERE'S GOING TO BE NOTHING LEFT OF YOU. AND WHAT WAS JESUS DOING? HE HE WAS SAYING, "LOOK AT WHAT I DID TO THESE GENTILE NATIONS AND LOOK AT HOW BAD THE DESTRUCTION WAS. BUT JUST LET ME REMIND YOU THAT IT'S STILL GOING TO BE BETTER FOR THEM AT JUDGMENT THAN IT WILL BE FOR YOU." HE SAID, "YOU MAY BE A JEW AND YOU MIGHT BE MY CHOSEN PEOPLE, BUT IT'S STILL GOING TO BE BETTER FOR THEM AT THE JUDGMENT THAN IT WILL BE FOR YOU. WHY? BECAUSE JOHN THE BAPTIST CAME, YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT HIM. HE SAID, 'I CAME MYSELF AND YOU SAID THAT I HAVE A DEVIL.' WHAT WAS HE SAYING? WELL, IT TAKES TOO MUCH TO MOVE YOU. IT TAKES TOO MUCH TO GET YOU TO RESPOND. AND I BELIEVE TONIGHT THAT WHEN GOD SENDS YOUR PASTOR WITH AN ANOINTED WORD OF GOD FOR SOME OF YOU PEOPLE AND GOD SENDS ANOINTED MEN OF GOD THROUGH THIS PULPIT TO PREACH TO YOU PEOPLE, BUT IT DOES NOT PRODUCE THE CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE IT OUGHT TO PRODUCE. LET ME TELL YOU, I'M CONVINCED IT TAKES TOO MUCH TO MOVE YOU. LET ME SAY, I'M PRAYING and I'm believing WITH MY WHOLE HEART TONIGHT THAT THIS IS NOT FOR THE MAJORITY. I BELIEVE THAT I BELIEVE MANY OF us respond the way that we ought to, and I sure don't want it to seem LIKE I'M TRYING TO BEAT ANYBODY UP TONIGHT. THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO. BUT I BELIEVE THAT WHEN God sends specific words for you, when God sends messages for you, but it does not produce the change. It does not do anything in your life. And we can sit through service after service. We can sit through experience AFTER EXPERIENCE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD,

BUT IT JUST DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. LET ME tell you, I believe tonight that IT TAKES TOO MUCH TO move some of us. I believe in this past year with this whole season that we all have been through, I believe if it's done anything, it's revealed a lot of things. It showed us whether or not we really had that prayer life that we thought we had. A lot of us said we JUST DIDN'T HAVE TIME CUZ OF school and cuz of work. Well, a lot of that went away, but let ME ASK YOU, HAS YOUR PRAYER LIFE GROWN? HAVE YOU GROWN? WE READ IN THE BOOK OF SAMUEL WHERE THE BIBLE SAYS SAMUEL GOT A NEW COAT each and every year. Why was that? WAS IT BECAUSE SAMUEL JUST OUTGREW OR WAS IT BECAUSE SAMUEL JUST JUST WORE OUT THE OTHER ONE OR OR MAYBE HE JUST WANTED A NEW COAT? NO, I BELIEVE TONIGHT IT WAS BECAUSE EACH AND EVERY YEAR SAMUEL WOULD GROW JUST A LITTLE BIT AND AND SAMUEL WASN'T ABLE TO BE IN THE SAME THING THAT HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN IN. I'VE JUST GOT TO PREACH TO YOU FOR A MOMENT AND ASK YOU, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WEARING THAT SAME OLD COAT? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE SAME PLACE THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN? I DON'T BELIEVE TONIGHT IT'S THE WILL OF GOD FOR YOU TO STAY IN THE SAME PLACE THAT YOU WERE 5 YEARS AGO. BUT WE'VE GOT TO HAVE A DESIRE TO GROW AND TO GO DEEPER IN GOD. SO MANY TIMES HERE WE ARE SAYING, "GOD, WOULD YOU GIVE ME A NEW ANOINTING? GOD, WOULD YOU PUT A NEW MANTLE ON MY LIFE? WOULD YOU SHOW ME THINGS I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE?" BUT I BELIEVE GOD IS STANDING THERE AND HE'S SAYING, "WELL, IF YOU WOULD JUST GROW, IF YOU COULD JUST PUT YOUR ATTENTION ON GROWTH JUST A LITTLE BIT, I'VE GOT A NEW ANOINTING FOR YOU. I'VE GOT A NEW CALLING FOR YOU. BUT SAMUEL, UNTIL YOU DO SOME GROWING, YOU'RE GOING TO BE IN THE SAME COAT THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN." OH GOD. HALLELUJAH. Why don't you lift your hands right now FOR A MOMENT? HELP US TONIGHT, GOD. I NEED THE ANOINTING TONIGHT, GOD. Come on, why don't somebody yield to the Holy Ghost right now? Come on, WHY DON'T YOU LIFT YOUR YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW AND LIFT UP YOUR VOICE? COME ON, LET ME TELL YOU, GOD'S GOT MORE FOR A LOT OF YOU THAN WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING IN YOUR LIFE. COME ON, GOD'S GOT A LOT MORE GIFTS FOR YOU AND GOD'S GOT A GREATER ANOINTING FOR YOU THAN THE ANOINTING YOU'VE BEEN WALKING IN. IT'S TIME THAT SOME OF YOU SAY, "I'M GOING TO DO SOME GROWING IN THE LORD. I'M NOT STAYING IN THE SAME PLACE. I'M NOT STAYING IN THE SAME PLACE THAT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN. I'VE GOT A HUNGER TO GROW." COME ON, CHURCH. LET ME TELL YOU, THIS AIN'T ABOUT ENTERTAINMENT. COME ON, THIS AIN'T ABOUT HYPE. THIS AIN'T ABOUT EMOTIONALISM. THIS IS ABOUT GETTING A TOUCH FROM THE PRESENCE OF GOD. THIS IS ABOUT HAVING AN EXPERIENCE IN GOD'S PRESENCE. IF YOU COME TO THIS PLACE FOR ENTERTAINMENT, IF YOU COME TO THIS PLACE JUST TO SEE WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN AND JUST TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF SONG WE'RE GOING TO SING AND SEE WHAT THE PREACHER'S GOING TO PREACH, LET ME TELL YOU, THAT AIN'T THE WILL OF GOD. WE SAY, "WELL, PREACHER, GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW. PREACHER, GIVE ME SOMETHING ELSE." LET ME TELL YOU, WE'VE GOT EVERYTHING WE NEED IN THIS PLACE TONIGHT. WE DON'T NEED A NEW MESSAGE. COME ON, WE DON'T NEED A NEW MESSAGE. WE'VE GOT THE ONLY SAVING TRUTH. WE'VE GOT THE ONLY SAVING MESSAGE.

COME ON, WHY DON'T YOU LIFT UP YOUR HANDS? COME ON, WE DON'T HAVE TO GO ANY FURTHER THAN THIS TONIGHT. IF THIS IS WHERE GOD'S WANTING TO TAKE US, WHY DON'T YOU YIELD RIGHT NOW TO THE HOLY GHOST? DO WHAT YOU FEEL. COME ON, CHURCH. Come on, church. CAN WE PRAY JUST FOR A MOMENT? COME ON, WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THOSE DOORS, THERE OUGHT TO BE SOMETHING STIRRING ON THE INSIDE OF YOU. THERE OUGHT TO BE SOMETHING STIRRING ON THE INSIDE OF YOU. THAT SAYS, "GOD, TAKE ME DEEPER. GOD, TAKE ME FURTHER." COME ON, THESE ALTARS ARE OPEN RIGHT NOW. I DON'T NEED TO GO ANY FURTHER. WHY DON'T YOU COME TO THIS FRONT AND LIFT UP YOUR HANDS? COME ON, I BELIEVE TONIGHT WITH MY WHOLE HEART, IF YOU SAY, "GOD, GIVE ME SOMETHING I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE. GIVE ME A GREATER ANOINTING. GIVE ME A GREATER FAVOR." I BELIEVE WITH EVERYTHING ON THE INSIDE OF ME THAT GOD WILL DO IT. IT'S TIME THAT SOME OF YOU QUIT WEARING THAT SAME OLD COAT. IT'S TIME THAT SOME OF YOU DO SOME GROWING TO WHERE YOU CAN'T WEAR THE SAME COAT THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN. WE'VE GOT TO DO SOME GROWING HERE TONIGHT. WE'VE GOT TO GO DEEPER IN GOD TONIGHT. WE'VE GOT TO GET SOMETHING FROM THE PRESENCE OF GOD WE'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED IN ALL OF OUR LIVES. COME ON, LET ME HEAR THIS CHURCH PRAY. LET ME HEAR THIS CHURCH PRAY. WOULD YOU LIFT UP YOUR VOICE AND HELP ME PRAY? PRAYER STILL CHANGES THINGS. PRAYER STILL CHANGES THINGS. WE DON'T NEED MORE PROGRAMS. WE DON'T NEED MORE THINGS TO DO. WE JUST NEED PEOPLE WHO WILL HAVE AN OLD-TIME REVIVAL OF PRAYER. WE NEED OLD-TIME CONVICTION. WE NEED OLD-TIME ANOINTING. WE NEED OLD-TIME FAVOR. WE NEED OLD-TIME CONSECRATION. COME ON, IT SHOULDN'T take too much pushing. IT SHOULDN'T TAKE YOUR PASTOR BEGGING YOU TO RESPOND. IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A WORSHIP LEADER BEGGING YOU TO LIFT UP YOUR HANDS. IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A PREACHER BEGGING YOU TO OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH. YOU'RE NOT RESPONDING FOR ME AND YOU'RE NOT RESPONDING FOR YOUR PASTOR, BUT YOU OUGHT TO RESPOND SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU LOVE GOD. DON'T MAKE US BEG YOU. IT OUGHT NOT TO TAKE MUCH FOR YOU TO LIFT UP YOUR HANDS. IT OUGHT NOT TO TAKE MUCH FOR YOU TO OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH. IT OUGHT NOT TO TAKE MUCH FOR YOU TO BE MOVED TO TEARS. WHEN I THINK ABOUT EVERYTHING GOD'S DONE FOR ME, WHEN I THINK ABOUT HIS MERCY AND HIS GRACE AND WHEN I THINK ABOUT WHERE I WOULD BE IF HE HADN'T FOUND ME, IT DOESN'T TAKE ANYBODY BEGGING ME TO PRAY. IT DOESN'T TAKE ANYBODY BEGGING ME TO RESPOND, BUT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH BECAUSE HE SAVED MY SOUL. THAT'S ENOUGH FOR YOU TO RESPOND. THAT OUGHT TO BE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO RESPOND TO THE PRESENCE OF GOD. CAN we lift up our voices one more time? Come on, can we lift up our voices one more time and pray? I'M TELLING YOU TONIGHT, THERE'S PEOPLE ALL OVER THIS WORLD THAT IF THEY COULD FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL RIGHT NOW, THEY WOULD BE MOVED THE WAY THAT THEY OUGHT TO BE MOVED. IF THEY FELT GOD PULLING ON THEIR HEART

LIKE YOU FEEL GOD RIGHT NOW, LET ME TELL YOU, THERE'S NO WAY THEY WOULD REMAIN IN THE SAME PLACE THAT THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN. THERE'S PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEVER HEARD, "HEAR, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD." AND WE HEAR IT ON A DAILY BASIS AND AND WE SAY, "WELL, I WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING NEW AND I WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING FRESH." LET ME TELL YOU THAT OUGHT TO BE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO RESPOND. WOULD YOU JOIN UP WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR one time? COME ON, WOULD YOU JOIN UP WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR AND HELP ME PRAY ONE MORE TIME? COME ON, WHY DON'T WE PRAY FOR EACH OTHER? GOD, GIVE US A NEW ANOINTING. GOD, AS A CHURCH BODY, TAKE US DEEPER. GOD, AS A CHURCH BODY, TAKE US FURTHER THAN WE'VE EVER BEEN. AS A UNIT, AS A BODY, GOD, TAKE US TO NEW DEPTHS. GIVE US REVIVAL. I'M TELLING YOU GOD WOULD BLOW YOUR MIND WITH THE REVIVAL THAT HE'S WILLING TO SEND THIS THIS CITY, BUT WE'VE GOT TO BE WILLING TO GET DOWN ON OUR KNEES AND DIG OUT A PRAYER LIFE. WE'VE GOT TO BE WILLING TO GO DEEPER IN GOD. IT'S NOT ALWAYS COMFORTABLE. IT'S NOT EASY, BUT LET ME TELL YOU, IT'S SO WORTH IT. IT'S WORTH IT TO GET NEW THINGS FROM GOD. IT'S WORTH IT TO GO DEEPER IN GOD. YOU MAY HAVE TO FORGET ABOUT SOME THINGS. YOU MAY HAVE TO PUSH OFF THE SCHEDULE EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT LET ME TELL YOU, IT'S SO WORTH IT TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. IT'S SO WORTH IT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE IN GOD'S PRESENCE. COME ON, MAYBE WE NEED TO FIX SOME THINGS ON OUR PRIORITY LIST. COME ON, MAYBE PRAYER HAS BEEN ON THE BACK BURNER FOR A LITTLE BIT TOO LONG. MAYBE WE'VE BEEN CONSUMED WITH THE THINGS OF LIFE. MAYBE WE'VE BEEN CONSUMED WITH TECHNOLOGY AND WITH OUR CAREERS AND AND WITH SCHOOL, BUT I BELIEVE TONIGHT THERE'S A CALL GOING FORTH THAT'S SAYING, "WILL YOU PUT ME FIRST LIKE WE WERE AT THE BEGINNING? WILL YOU GO BACK TO YOUR FIRST LOVE? WILL YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU DID WHEN YOU FIRST GOT THE HOLY GHOST? WILL YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU DID WHEN YOU FIRST FELT MY PRESENCE
