Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Two texts for the in-between (Hebrews 11; Job 22)
- He honors the house and its pastors, then announces his errand: he was sent as an encourager, to remind somebody there is more plowing and tilling to do for the kingdom and for what God has promised their family.
- The book of Hebrews is not a casual letter written in leisure but a sermon preached under pressure — a homily to be heard, not an epistle to be read; its preacher's name is lost to history, but the power was never in the preacher's name, it was in the words of his declaration.
- It was preached to saints on the edge of getting up: people who had endured persecution, who were tired of waiting for the manifestation of what God had promised, and who were asking, God, do you even hear me when I pray?
- The first text, read entire: now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- The second text, read entire: thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows; thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
- His opening prayer asks that the lost would ask, what must I do to be saved, and be given the answer he names the antidote: repent and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and that seekers be filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1; Job 22:27-28
Now faith: the substance that stands beneath
- Faith is living in the tension of what you heard while enduring what you are in right now; this preacher is not preaching theory, he is preaching survival.
- Faith isn't coming next week or next year — faith is now; it does not live in delay but in the manifestation of what God has already spoken, reaching into eternity to grab what has already been completed.
- In the Greek, faith is hypostasis: that which stands beneath — the concrete beneath the confession, the invisible structure holding everything up; when the waves of life beat against us, faith says we will not be moved.
- Faith is not denial of reality, it is defiance of reality: no matter what it looks like, I still believe God; he may not come when I want him, but he'll be there right on time.
- Faith is when the problem and the promise meet at the same address — and every household has to decide which one wins in their house.
- Sometimes God allows the decree to be tested to see if faith can endure; behind the scenes he never stopped working.
- Job felt like his own God was trying to kill him, yet he prophesied into the atmosphere with faith: tomorrow is coming — if I can just endure the night, if I can just make it through the night, tomorrow is on the way to my house, my family, my finances, my health.
- Weeping may endure for a season — there are seasons we have to go through the weeping, through the process — but joy is coming in the morning.
- Hebrews teaches that saints don't walk by sight, they see by spirit: we hold on to what is intangible and declare what is inevitable; faith isn't fragile optimism, it is divine substance.
In-between faith chooses worship over worry
- In-between faith leaves a choice: I could worry or I could worship, I could praise or I could pout — are you a praiser or a pouter, a worshipper or a worrier? If God be for us, who can be against us?
- Faith is unmoved hope; the word draws a person to an altar of repentance.
- He is God of the mountain and God in the valley, God of the good times and God in the bad times, God of the day and still God in the night; when things go wrong, he'll make it right.
- The altar press: yield — I've been tried, I've been tested, but I will triumph; faith can heal, faith can break through, faith can deliver.
- Some have been tried but will not be turned; some have been in warfare, but God will create the supernatural; he is the author and the finisher of our faith, and faith is rising.
- He closes by declaring the text again over the room: now faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Can we lift our hands to heaven all across this tabernacle this morning? Can we just lift our voice one more time and can we bless the name of the Lord? Oh, come on. It's been trying, but I'm coming out of this on the other side because I've made up in my mind I'm going beyond the bedrock of my soil. But I'm digging deep, come on, to the roots. Come on. That anything that's dead, I'm plucking it up so that seed can be planted. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Clap your hands together one more time unto the Lord. May be seated in Jesus name. What a fellowship. What a joy divine leaning on his everlasting arms. Amen. And we honor the Lord this morning for his goodness and for his mercies that fell us not. To revival that's going to shake a nation literally. And for that, I honor the Lord for them. I thank God for my beautiful bride. Amen. And my two baby girls. to honor the Lord for them. Bishop Carpenter has no idea, amen, what the Lord had spoke to me late last night, early this morning. But I believe this morning the Lord has sent me here as an encourager to remind somebody, amen, that there's more plowing and tilling to do for the kingdom, but also for what God has promised unto you and your family. And if we have an ear to hear in the next few moments, I believe something's going to shake us to another place in him that as we begin to tune in to what he is saying, I believe we're going to leave here better than we came. Grab your Bibles quickly. Turn with me to the book of Hebrews, chap 11, one verse, and you're hearing verse one. And then I want us to jump to the book of Job chapter 22 27. And while we're navigating that, find find three people better looking than you this morning and tell them it's good to see you in the house of the Lord. Oh, come on. Find three people better looking and tell them it's good to see you in the house of the Lord. Some of y'all didn't look at nobody. If you can't find nobody better looking and find somebody looking and tell them it's good to see you in the house of the Lord. Book of Hebrews chapter 11. What about this praise team? Come on, clap your hands together. Amen. These musicians so anointed. Hebrews 11:1 and the Bible now gave us this intelligence. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Job 22 declares, "Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and the light shall shine upon thy ways." May the Lord add a blessing to the reading and the hearing of his word. Set your Bibles down. Set your devices down one more time and let's ask the Holy Ghost to talk to us for the next few fleeting moments. Father, Savior, God, before we ask you for anything, we thank you for everything. We thank you for that of the gift of the Holy Ghost. We thank you for your power divine. We thank you that last night was not our last night. But God, we pray this morning. That you throw your weight around in this place that makes preaching easy. Lord, let yolks be destroyed because of the anointing. Let faith be restored unto them that are weary. Lord, we pray this morning if there be one lost without you, let them ask the question, "What must I do to be saved?" Lord, we pray this morning we could give them the antidote of what you commanded to repent and to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of all of their sin. Lord, I pray today if there be an individual that that is seeking for the baptism of the Holy Ghost, fill them with dunamis power from on high. Lord, I pray what I pray every time, allow me to decrease that you may increase. Let your word do the work. Let your word go forth to heal, to set free, and to deliver. And Lord, we never fail to give you the praise, the glory, and the honor in Jesus' name. And the church of the living God can shout amen and amen. Clap them sanctified hands together as you're being seated in the house of the Lord. My brothers and my sisters, if I could preach to you for a few moments, I want to leave you with this thought. Faith in between. Faith in between. My brothers and my sisters, this book of Hebrews is not a casual letter that's written in leisure. It's a sermon preached under pressure and restraint. Most scholars would suggest that this is not an epistle to be read, but a homaly to be heard. It opens like a proclamation and not a correspondence. This this sermon noted in Hebrews wasn't pinned down from a desk, but rather preached from a pullpit. This is why there's so much discrepancy between who wrote this paricopy of scripture. Some believe that Paul preached it while others believe that Apollos wrote it. This is actually a sermon that came forth in a time of uncertainty where somebody had to make up in their mind that they were going to press beyond. The preacher's name is lost in history. The power was never in the preacher's name. The power was in the words of the declaration of the preacher. This sermon was so powerful that it was transcribed to a people that was on the edge of getting up. this this epistle to a people that promise is going to come to you even under pressure. Saints that had to endure persecution while attempting to hold on to their faith. Saints who were tired of waiting for the manifestation of what God had predestined and promised. But they knew that hope was around the corner if they kept going forward. These saints have endured, but now they're exhausted. They had belief while they were breaking. And this is where I want to preach to you, my brothers and sisters, that their faith was the only thing they had to hold on to because life had exhausted them and drained them to a place that they asked the question, "God, do you even hear me when I pray?" This nameless preachers now standing in the gap while feeling tension between what the Lord had spoken and what life was showing. Faith, my brothers and sisters, is living in the tension of what you heard while enduring what you're in right now. This preacher isn't preaching theory. He's preaching survival. He isn't giving them cliches, but rather he's giving them the crutch of Christ. When they have nothing else to lean on, you must have something that declares, "My hope is built on nothing less. Jesus's blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but holy leaning on Jesus name. Uh until you've been in a place where you needed something to lean on, something to depend on. Uh you would then declare on Christ the solid rock I stand. Uh all other grounds uh are sinking sand. Uh this is why this nameless preacher opens uh with finding himself in the middle of this homaly. He walks over from chapter 10 and arrives in chapter 11. He tries to encourage the saints to hold on to what they have and he finds himself telling them this. Uh now faith is it was here that he began to encourage them. Faith isn't coming next week. Faith isn't coming next year. Uh but faith is coming now. Whatever you're dealing with or wherever you are now. Faith. Faith doesn't live in delay. Uh faith lives uh in the manifestation of what God's already spoken. I can have faith because I'm not waiting on something to be done. Uh I'm reaching for something that's already been created and complete. Uh the Lord created the end before the beginning. Uh and if the Lord created the end before the beginning, uh I'm not going to wait on something to happen. Uh it's already happened. Uh faith is the practice. of reaching into eternity to grab what's already been completed in times past. Uh that's why our bishop stood up here uh and he said, "I'm not going to wait on a preacher. I'm not going to wait on a praise team, but I'm going to plow my own ground." Uh because faith says uh that I'm going to stand in knowing uh that what God said, it's already done. Uh now, faith, I dare you to push your neighbor like you mean it. and say, "Now faith, now faith." If you take time to look at it in the Greek, uh, it's hypistasis. Uh, now faith, hypistasis that correlates to stand beneath the concrete beneath the confession, the invisible structure of the holding up. Faith is not denial of reality. Faith is defiance of reality. Faith says, "No matter what it looks like, uh, I still believe God." Uh, faith says, uh, sometimes I might not know when, uh, I might not know how, uh, but I wonder if I got a few believers that could say it may not come when I want him, but he'll be there right on time. Uh, because my faith is the structure. That means when the waves of life uh begin to beat meuh, I'm planted because my faith says uh that I will not be moved, but I shall stand in the correspondence of what God's already said. I come to stir somebody's faith up this morning. I don't know where you are in life right now, but I've been sitting here to tell you if you can hold on uh just a little bit longer, your faith is going to defy the outcome. Uh I know it feels like your prayers aren't being heard. I know it feels like your family is running further away from God. Uh I know it feels like every time you look around, uh the enem is hitting you left and right. But I wonder if somebody could throw your hands up and say, "My faith is so locked up in God. I'm going to praise him until he does it." I'm going to worship until he does it. I'm going to wait. I wonder if somebody could make up in your mind. My faith says that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the dying. My faith is going to another level. My faith is going to another place because I believe that faith is the doorway of what God has already promised. I dare somebody lift your hands right now. I feel like God is downloading faith inside of somebody to remind you now faith is. >> Oh, all of my faith. I feel the Holy Ghost. All of my faith is in him. That's why he said some trust in horses, some trust in chariots, but we will forever remember the name of the Lord. I believe God even when my feelings aren't working. Faith is when the problem and the promise meet at the same address. Oh, come on here. I said faith is when the problem and the promise meet at the same address. Uh I come to ask you this morning uh which one are you going to let win in your househ are you going to believe the promise or are you going to believe the problem? Are you going to look at the negative? Are you going to see the invisible? I'm looking for a miracle. I'm looking for a breakthrough. I'm looking. I come to tell somebody, God's getting ready to send your faith to another level that by the time you get home, he's going to turn it around for your favor. Faith. Faith. Faith. When faith says yes, your reality says no. You must declare and decree now. Faith, I feel the word getting deep down in somebody's spirit right now. I come to tell you, you don't need a prophet when the word can get deep down inside of you and remind you. I might be in the darkest hour of my life, but I got faith. I might be in a struggle, but I got faith. I might be in a place where I feel like God has forgot about me. But when faith when faith gets a hold of a spirit that says God come what may faith says look unto the heels which cometh your help. Faith says hold on a little while longer. your redemption. Draw it now. Sometimes God will allow your decree to be tested so that he can see if your faith can endure. Ah, though you doubted God and felt the failure, God never stopped working behind the scenes. Come here, Job. What did he say? He said, "It feels like my own God is trying to kill me." But here's what he said. Oh, Bishop Carpenter, he prophesied into the atmosphere with faith. And he said, "I might be going through it feels like God is trying to kill me." But he stood and he said, "But tomorrow is coming." I don't know who I'm talking to, but I come to encourage somebody. Your tomorrow is coming. You don't got to worry about the night season. Yes, I feel the Holy Ghost. You don't got to worry about what you're going through. I said tomorrow is coming. I dare you to grab your neighbor and say, "Hey neighbor, I know you're worry. I know you're struggling, but tomorrow is coming. I'mma close my eyes. And if I can just endure the night. If I can just make it through the night, tomorrow is on the way. Tomorrow is coming to my househ to my family, to my finances, to my health. Tomorrow is coming. If I can just make it through the night. >> If I can just make it through the night. Oh God, here's where he reminded us that weeping may endure. Weeping may endure. That tells me there'll be seasons that I got to go through the weeping. I have to go through the process. But if I could just make it, I'll tell you what there is coming. Joy is coming. I come to tell you joy is coming in the morning. Hebrews teaches us uh that saints don't walk by sight, but they see by spirit. We stand on what is invisible. we would hold on to what is intangible and we declare what's inevitable. When I ask come on about what God is doing in faith, it's the outward progression. I'm talking about an inward preparation. Faith isn't a feeling that you flirt with. It's the concrete of conviction that keeps you unmoved while you wait on what God's going to do next. I decree it even if I can't touch it. I decree it even if I can't see it. I decree it even if I can't feel it. Faith isn't fragile optimism. It's divine substance. Can I say that again? I said faith isn't fragile optimism. It's divine substance. I come to tell you it comes with spiritual thinking. Spiritual seeing spiritual feeling. I'm like Sarah. If I have to deliver the baby in my old age, uh I still believe God. Uh because I recognize, uh in between faith, uh I could worry or I could worship. In between faith, I could praise or I could pout. But it's up to you. Are you a praiser or a pout? Are you a worshipper or a worrier? I come to ask you uh in between faith uh what are you going to do uh what say ye uh unto these things uh if God be for us who can't be against us I'm faith in between but I made up my mind I will worship him. >> Hallelujah. >> Faith is unmoved hope. >> I said faith is unmoved hope. Your next is going to echo. Come on. We're in an apostolic church right now. Come on. That That's what the word does. It draws to an altar of repentance. I said that's what faith does. It reminds a man. You might be going through, but my power it'll pull you through. Faith reminds a woman, Brother Jackson, I might be going through hell, but my help is on the way. Uh, I feel like telling somebody, uh, God is about to stretch you. Uh, I said, God, it's about to stretch you. Uh, I wonder if I got a manu. I wonder if I got a woman that'll throw your hands up and say, "Today, I yield. I yield. My faith in between. I've been tried. I've been tested, but I will triumph. Come on. I need a brother to find a brother. I need a sister to find a sister. I feel faith rising. I feel faith rising. I feel faith rising. Some of you have been tried, but God said you will not be turned. Some of you have been in warfare, but God said, "Don't worry. I'm going to create the supernatural." There it is. Lift your voice. Lift your voice and pray. God's restoring your faith. God's restoring your faith. God's restoring your faith. You're not too far. You're not too far. But God said today I shall restore because I am the author and the finisher of your faith. Oh, come on. Come on. I feel a deliverance breaking out. I feel a freedom breaking out. Come on. It's faith in between. It's faith in between. Which one do you choose? Which one do you choose? I believe God in the bad times. I believe God in the good times. I believe God in the valley. I believe God on the mountain top. I believe God. Come on. Come on. I feel the vibrations of heaven. I feel the vibrations of heaven. It's here right now that touch you. Come on, Zion. Come on, Zion. Elevate your faith. Faith can heal. Faith can break through. Faith can deliver. He's God of the mountain. He's God in the valley. He's God of the good times. He's God in the bad times. He said when things go wrong, I'll make it right. He's the God of the day. He's still God in the night. My faith says uh even if I can't see it right now, I'm pressing uh in the in between. Uh I believe God. Where's your press? Where's your press? Lift your voice. Come on, find somebody else. Lay your hands on them, brother. Lay your hands on them, sister. The spirit of the living God is here. He's here to stir you. I feel like telling somebody, you're coming out of this. You're coming out of this. I know it's been the night season, but more's coming. More is coming. More is coming. Now faith is uh Now faith is uh the evidence of things hoped for. Come on. It's the evidence of things not seen. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus.
