Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

His Ways Are Not Your Ways

  • The capture opens with the speaker leading worship and the opening prayer himself; the date is settled in his own words — March the 13th, 2026, a Friday night Section 1 rally.
  • The sermon's text, Isaiah 55:6-11, is read entire: seek the Lord while He may be found; My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways; His word shall not return void.
  • Life is a war of ways: with every decision, do I do life my way, or will I submit and do things God's way?

Scriptures: Isaiah 55:6-11

Ways That Seem Right

  • Proverbs 14:12 terrifies him: there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death — feelings are not a reliable compass.
  • Jeremiah 10:23: O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6: trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.
  • The Bible's decision failures are named as a catalogue — the garden, Cain, Lot, Esau, Saul, David — chapters named, contents glossed; no wording is delivered from them and they are not entered.

Scriptures: Proverbs 14:12; Jeremiah 10:23; Proverbs 3:5-6

I Am the Way

  • Thomas asked how we can know the way; Jesus answered in John 14:6: I am the way, the truth, and the life — not just a way, the only correct choice.
  • The way you know you are going the right way is to make up your mind: I am going to follow Jesus Christ.

Scriptures: John 14:6

It Seemed Good to the Holy Ghost

  • Acts 15:28 is designated and read: at the Jerusalem Council the decision's order was, first, how does this sit with the Spirit of God — it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us.
  • Inside that narrative, James is recounted as quoting Amos 9; no wording is delivered from it and it is not entered.
  • Decisions determine destinies: before dating, marriage, school, or a job, pray and ask how the Holy Ghost feels about this.

Scriptures: Acts 15:28

Follow Me

  • The 'follow me' sayings are priced one act at a time: in Matthew 4:19, Matthew 8:22, and Matthew 9:9 the pinpoint is designated and the clause delivered; in Matthew 16:24 the whole saying is read (deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me); in Matthew 19:21 the verse's closing words are delivered — come and follow me.
  • You are the follower and He is the leader: following means giving Him permission to lead every decision.

Scriptures: Matthew 4:19; Matthew 8:22; Matthew 9:9; Matthew 16:24; Matthew 19:21

Led by the Spirit

  • Romans 8:14: as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God — it is not enough to be Spirit-filled in a moment; being led is a lifestyle.
  • Galatians 5:25: if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
  • 'Just follow your heart' is the worst advice: the heart is deceitfully wicked (Jeremiah 17:9's matter, undesignated in the capture and not entered). We don't follow our hearts; we follow His Spirit.

Scriptures: Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:25

Deny Yourself — The Verse Again

  • Matthew 16:24 is designated again and read entire a second time, opening the sermon's second movement: if any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
  • Sin thrives on the absence of no and dies in its presence; his five-year-old son had to be taught to embrace the word no, and so must every disciple.
  • One no can change an entire story — Adam and Eve, Cain, Esau, Aaron, David, Solomon, Judas each did it their way instead.

Scriptures: Matthew 16:24

Nevertheless, Not My Will

  • Luke 22:39-43 is read in stages in the garden: pray that ye enter not into temptation; the cup; 'nevertheless, not my will, but Thine, be done' standing as the refrain; and in verse 43 an angel appeared unto Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
  • Inside that teaching, Paul in 1 Corinthians is named for the way of escape with every temptation (10:13's matter, compressed) and for Jesus as the last Adam (15:45's proposition) — the book is entered once, at book grain, over the two acts.
  • Where the first Adam said my will, the last Adam said Thy will — and heaven responds to people who say no to their flesh and yes to the Spirit.
  • The sermon closes in the altar prayer in progress: not my will, not my way, not my plans.

Scriptures: Luke 22:39-43; 1 Corinthians (book-only, as spoken)

Amen students, if that's how you really feel let's take a moment right now and do that God, I don't want it to just be lip service. I want my life to worship you Come on right where you're standing. Would you just begin to worship him? Come on the father seeking such that would worship him in spirit and in truth God we want to worship you Thankful for what I feel tonight. I feel such a burden for this night. I really feel like God is Going to speak to us and help you and as I often do I have prayed that tonight would just not be about You on March the 13th 2026, but that's something God would say tonight would help you in six months six years When you've got to make some tough decisions in life, I pray that somehow what God speaks tonight will help navigate and give you direction and that has been my prayer all day this afternoon and

I want you to do me a favor before we go to our seats. I want her to get every student just close your eyes Lift up your hands and just pray right now and I Want you to fervently pray that God would speak to us tonight. I Know sometimes it's easy to come Section one rally after section one rally But I wonder if we could pray like we know that tonight could be a night where heaven could meet earth and God could speak to us And something could transpire in this room over the next 60 minutes That would forever change the trajectory of a young person's life Would you really pray right now in section one that God would talk to us tonight? And would you pray that we would have ears to hear what the spirit is saying to the church? Jesus, I thank you for this opportunity God I don't take it lightly and I'm asking you right now to speak

clearly tonight to every young person that's here God those that are facing situations that seemingly are insurmountable God, I pray that you would do what only you can do and make ways where there are no ways More than anything God let your word let it find good ground in our hearts God, I pray you would speak so clearly to this generation and they would receive what you have spoken Amen, somebody say amen You can make your way back to your seats on your way there high five two or three people and say you look better than me tonight Amen Anybody excited to be at the section one rally tonight, you know my home section in Louisiana It's section one. I I'm now in section four, but I will always say it's section one for a reason It's the best section I'm not sure if that's true in Missouri. It's section one the best section in Missouri Amen Amen, if you would I know

you just sat down and I hate to be that guy But if you would stand with me, we're gonna read quickly Isaiah chapter 55 if you have your Bibles I'm gonna read verses 6 to 11 and I'm gonna read quickly I don't want you to stay standing too long and hopefully this is not the last time that you stand I want you to turn to somebody and say I'm gonna preach with the preacher tonight Look back at him and saying that don't be lying Isaiah chapter 55 as you are turning there or preparing to fix your eyes on the screen I would like to say as I've said every night this week. I am so honored to be here For next in a week, and I'm thankful that tonight it converges with section one But I want to give a huge shout out to this great church and great youth pastor pastor clay and sister Charlotte. I love I Love them so much

and Bishop T. Abtini our late superintendent He always said you could always tell how God feels about you by the leaders that he gives you and God has blessed this local youth group with great great leaders And I honor you and your team and I know that you honored everybody Except for yourself and rightfully so so I want to say what a huge honor it is and I'm thankful for pastor clay Sister Charlotte and their leadership. Amen. Thank you for all that you're doing Amen, and I give honor to your section when you direct there. Can we give it up for brother Braxton sister Jessica? Amen my friends So myself and Sister Charlotte Braxton sister Jessica we in 2024 we all went on a trip to Barcelona together and that's really kind of where our friendship We all knew each other, but really we got to spend 10 days together with 50 other people And we had a great time We ate McDonald's

every night. I don't know if you know this but McDonald's in Europe It's different than McDonald's in the United States Those nuggets are real Those McFlurries are Unbelievable I'm telling you I Even got a special edition McDonald's bucket hat that all of our students were trying to buy for me I still had that thing. I may auction it off one day on eBay. It's probably worth a lot of money We had so much fun And I am so thankful for their leadership and I am excited to be here in section one Isaiah chapter 55 in Verse number six if you've got it say amen Seek you the Lord while he may be found called you upon him while he is near Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return Until the Lord and he will have mercy upon him and to our God for he will abundantly pardon And this is maybe what you would

be more familiar with this verse For my thoughts are not your thoughts Neither are your ways my ways Say it the Lord how many can attest that you have found this to be true that me and God don't always See eye to eye Like sometimes the way he does things is maybe not the way I would do it And I know there are a lot of times the way that I do things It's probably not the way that he would do it And so Isaiah is helping us right here and telling us and God is speaking to Isaiah Says my ways are not your ways and your ways are not my ways verse 9 and then he explains it For as the heavens are higher than the earth. This is how vastly different Our ways are with his ways My ways are higher than your ways of my thoughts Than your thoughts he says for as the rain coming down and the snow

from heaven and return it's not thither But water the earth and make it bring forth and bud That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater So my word shall be that goeth forth out of my mouth now. This is encouraging it shall not Return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please and it will prosper where I send it I want to focus again on verse 8 when God says that my ways are Not your ways and your ways are not my ways here is what life Really is is about is that there's always going to be a battle There's always going to be a battle do I do life my way or Will I submit at times even though I don't agree even though? Maybe I don't understand and will I do things God's way There's always going to be this war there's always going to be this battle as long as we are

clothed and flesh There's always going to be a battle and with every decision in life that you make My prayer is that you would do it especially those that are major decisions that have the ability to affect your destiny Here's what I've learned. It's decisions really that determine all of our destinies And all of our lives will be a product of our decisions I want to appreciate for just a few moments, and I want to help you learn how to win the war of ways If you would lay your Bibles down and one more time I want you to pray with me for me for your neighbor for yourself and just ask that God would speak to us tonight I mean what you looked up your voice now and pray with me section one that God would talk to us tonight Come on. I don't want you to just listen to me pray because I have the microphone I want you to fervently

pray right now. God. I want you to talk to us God, I pray that your word would speak to us. Let me mix my faith with it that it may profit. Oh God I know that your word is powerful. It's quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword Let it pierce and divine to the joint and there's the sound of soul and spirit and the joints in the marrow Let it be a discerner of the thoughts and intents of our heart God, I pray there would be a lamp up to my feet and a light up to my path God, I pray you speak tonight and God I pray that we would hear what you are speaking and we would respond and apply to what we hear God, I'm asking you to have your way tonight Help us. Oh God those of us that are facing difficult decisions. Help us give us clarity and somebody's saying Jesus name Amen, I want you

to look at somebody you haven't spoken to yet and say I'm so glad you're here and you may be seated according to Multiple studies including one By Harvard Business Review. It is estimated that the average person Makes about 35,000 decisions every single day some of these decisions we make a very intentionally some of these we make subconsciously Some of them require a lot of thought some of them almost No thought at all you make micro decisions like will you hit the snooze or will you get up anybody a snoozer in the house? Anybody feel like that extra eight minutes that Apple gives you is just glorious Anybody else feel like that when you hit snooze it doesn't feel like eight minutes. It feels like about 45 seconds You make a decision what to wear what to eat what to drink? Which route you're gonna take? Check your phone with words to use in conversation Tonight before you got here. You made several decisions.

You decided what you were gonna wear What suit what shirt what dress what skirt depending on if you're a male or female What what shoes you decided how you wanted to fix your hair Lesser me and then you just just go with it. You decided when you walked into the room where you wanted to sit Who you wanted to sit by and it's an important decision because you knew you were gonna be next to them for the next 90 minutes and Then there are decisions that we make throughout the day that we don't even realize we're making this decision and While most of the 35,000 decisions that we make every single day Do not carry really any significant weight There are times in all of our lives that we are going to have to make decisions that as I said a moment ago Have the power to affect the rest of our life One day you're going to decide who you're gonna spend

the rest of your life with You're gonna decide what school you want to go to what university you're gonna decide What career path that you're going to take and through these decisions you're Sometimes gonna discover that what you want may not always be What's best for your life? And in this tension that I see both with us today and those who feel the pages of scripture I see this war that takes place with with humanity and Trying to please God and trying to do things the right way and that is that there has been a battle Since the beginning of time that has affected everyone who filled the scriptures and even those of us now in March of 2026 in fact the Bible opens and immediately We are we are introduced to this battle that takes place Adam and Eve are in the garden of Eden And they've got everything that they could ever want and there was just one tree that is

forbidden And God had told them do not eat of it. Do not partake of it. And what do they do? The one thing that God said no to they said yes to and one Decision that day in that garden forever affected the rest of time In Genesis 4 we see Cain making one choice the jealousy and allow it to rule his heart and he murdered his brother and Genesis 13 lot made a decision to take the world water planes of Sodom because it looked appealing and that decision would eventually Calls him his home and even his wife Genesis 25 Esau makes the one impulsive decision to try to birthright for a bowl of stew and First Samuel 13 Saul made a decision to partially obey God and it caused him the kingdom and Second Samuel 11 David the giant slayer makes a decision to not guard his fleshly desires And he has an affair which leads to deception murder and ultimately the loss

of a child I could go on and on tonight do out the from the Old Testament to the New Testament that there were these Moments where you can see God's people were in this war this mental war Do I do things my way or do I do things God's way? There is a scripture that's always alarmed me and that still to this day kind of shakes me up when I read it And the the writer writes in Proverbs 14 and 12 and he says that there is a way That's seemeth right unto a man But the end thereof or the ways of death Here is why this verse terrifies me number one is because it seems right to me When you are convinced that you were doing the right thing any small thing you will take as oh that's confirmation Number two the reason that this terrifies me as the Bible says it seems right unto me But the end thereof are the

ways of death You don't really realize the fullness of the punishment or the catastrophic effects that it's going to have sometimes Until you get to the very end and then it's too late This verse I believe should sober us tonight and it reminds us very clearly that our feelings are not all ways a reliable compass I Want to just remind you of something tonight, and that is this not everything that feels right Is right There have been moments as a youth pastor that I have sat in coffee shops Across the table from young men and young women, and they would say things like this to me Pastor drew it just feels so right I don't feel Bad about this, but I have learned that deception and revelation Can feel the exact same way and The ultimate measuring stick is always been and will always be the word of God It doesn't matter how it feels if it's affecting my walk with God. It's

not God's will for my life Jeremiah writes in Jeremiah 10 in verse 23. Oh Lord I know that the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man to direct his steps The proverb writer writes in Proverbs 3 and 5 that we should trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not to our own Understanding it and all our ways acknowledge him and notice. He shall direct your path It is a principle woven in both testaments that God's people needs God's voice leading their life When we try to guide our own life It will always end up in destruction our way led to forbidden fruit shame Hiding in trees Jonah to the belly of a whale David to that Shiva saw losing the kingdom and the prodigal son to the pig being because when you do simply what feels Right to you ultimately. It's going to destroy your life We need God to direct our steps The

Bible says in John 14 Thomas as Jesus a very important question when he says Jesus how can we? Know the way here is why I'm preaching this tonight Is there are going to be junctures in your life where you're going to have to make some very? Important decisions and it can be scary in those moments when you know that this one single decision Has the power to affect the rest of my life And I am so thankful that the Bible tells us that there is safety in the multitude of counsel I'm thankful for leaders that we can look to I'm thankful for parents that we can look to I'm thankful for youth Pastors and pastors and those people that God has put in our lives to help us Navigate and try to find the right path, but ultimately the number one guide in our life is going to be God's word And God's voice. We've got to know him if we're going to

know the right way to go So Thomas as Jesus How can we know the way and Jesus responds in the next person? He says I am the way notice the difference The writer in proverb says there is a way That seems right into a man, but Jesus makes it singular. He says I'm not just a way. I am the way The truth and the life no man coming to the father, but by me Jesus made it abundantly clear I'm not just a way. I am the way. I'm not just one choice of many I am the only correct choice Can I just tell you the way that you know you're going the right way is you make up your mind? I'm going to follow Jesus Christ And can I just tell you no one has ever regretted trading their way for his ways But I have talked to a lot of people who have told me with tears in their eyes I wish

I would have just listened to God. I wish I would have just done it God's way I wish I wouldn't have wanted so bad to do it my way I wish I would have just submitted to the will of God and there is a verse And this all started for me Back at general conference for the DJ had asked that I would speak to our team It was a very important meeting that we were gonna have to make some tough decisions And I'll never forget the night before the meeting the Lord began to speak to me in this verse This verse really began to minister to me and over the last several months I have allowed and tried my best to live by this and act chapter 15 They were faced with a very difficult decision They had to make a decision the Gentile church was growing at such a rapid rate And there was a decision that they needed to make did

did the Gentiles needed to be Circumcised it to keep the law of Moses so they gathered in Jerusalem at the Jerusalem Council and Paul and Barnabas And Peter and John and some of the other apostles and elders they gathered to make decisions and Peter began to testify I've got it already given them the gift of the Holy Ghost and James The elder began to quote scripture from Amos 9 and the apostles and the elders begin to weigh the matter with prayer And they begin to weigh the matter with testimony and with scripture and they said instead of putting an unbearable burden on the Gentile believers This is a decision that we have made and I want you to read it And I want you to go home after tonight and I want you to underline this verse in your Bible if you write in your Bible Acts chapter 15 and verse summer 28 reveals to us the conclusion of that very important decision

The Bible says it seemed good to the Holy Ghost and To us. I want you if you can leave it up for just a moment I want you to notice the order when they had to make an important decision They said number one We've got to know how Does this decision sit with the Spirit of God that dwells on the inside of us? They said we are not primarily interested in what we think about this We want to know what is the Holy Ghost saying about this decision And they said it seemed good To the Holy Ghost and To us when they needed to make an important decision that would affect the whole group of people they understood It's so important in this decision that I've got to do what seems good not just to me But to the Holy Ghost because at times as a Christian what seems right to us is not right to the Spirit So here we are tonight

Friday the 13th. We sit here as this youth rally. We're not at the Jerusalem council. I understand We're not making decisions about a Gentile nation. I understand But I know I'm looking at a group of young people that God no doubt has his hand Upon your life, but I know from this night moving forward There are going to be a lot of decisions that you have to make There are going to be a lot of ways that you're gonna have to decide how do you want your life to go? And here is what I simply have come to plead with you tonight about when you make those decisions Can you pray about it and see how does Jesus feel about this? Come on before I say yes to somebody in marriage God, what do you think about this in fact before even get that for that far before I say yes to dating somebody God, how do you feel about this before I

decide where I want to go to school and the job? I'm gonna take I'm gonna hit my knees and pray and say God. How do you feel about this? Come on somebody needs to make up their mind if my decisions are going to determine my destiny I've got to know every decision I make is a spirit led decision. I'm not gonna marry somebody That's gonna drag me out of the will of God. I'm not gonna say yes to a job that'll pull me out of the church Come on. I'm not gonna say yes to something that the Holy Ghost is saying no to Because here's what I've learned if we are not led by the spirit We will be misled by our flesh If we are not led by our by the spirit, we will be guided by what feels natural And what feels good to us But that's not always the will of God If we're going to truly live for God,

we must be led by him notice the language of the new testament church Jesus told his disciples in matthew 419 He said to them Follow me He says in matthew 822 But jesus said unto them Follow me and matthew 9 and 9 the bible says that jesus looked at them and said follow me And matthew 16 24 jesus said unto his disciples if any man will come after me let him deny himself Take up his cross and follow me and matthew 19 and 21 at the end jesus says come And follow me does anybody see come on the repeating phrase jesus said if you're going to be my disciple Here's what you've got to understand you are the follower and i am the leader The only way for me to follow jesus is i give him permission and i give him the authority to say god I want you to lead me. I want you to lead every decision i make. I want

you to lead the path that i take If i'm really going to be a follower Of jesus christ then that means i don't have the authority to lead my own life But here's why this is so amazing Anybody in this room believe that god loves you Anybody that he died for you and shed his blood for you. He's what's amazing Number one is we're following a god Who knows us the best? He loves us the most And he knows What's best for me Here's what i want to encourage you you will never follow him and be led out of the will of god But i have seen so many people Follow their own desires and their own feelings and it leads them right out of the will of god If you will learn to be spirit led you will never be led out of the will of god That's why paul writes in romans 8 and 14 for as many are led by

the spirit of god This is who are the sons of god. It's not just enough to be spirit field We've got to be spirit led because spirit field can be happen can happen in a moment But being led by the spirit is a lifestyle It's every single day saying god. I want you to lead me and this is how you win this war Of ways you say god. I want you to lead me The true mark of a son and daughter of god is not just being full of the spirit It's being led by the spirit paul writes in galatians 5 25 if we live in the spirit. Let us also Walk in the spirit. I urge all of you tonight That when you are faced with making difficult decisions Make sure that your decision is led by the spirit when we were at that meeting i shared With our fellow leaders fellow youth presidents. I said the most important decision When you're

making an important decision Is that you're being led by the spirit There's gonna be a lot of ways that you're gonna have to decide which way will I take And the most important decision when you're making an important decision Is I must be led by the spirit I understand that we live today in a culture That preaches a message to us that we should just do what we feel And we should just follow our heart Anybody ever heard that just follow your heart Can I tell you that's the worst advice you can give or receive from someone You know what the bible says that our hearts are deceitfully wicked Who can know it you know what happens when you follow your heart? It leads you out of the will of god It leads you into places that god never intended for you to go We don't follow our hearts. We follow his spirit Watch what jesus says in matthew 16 24 that jesus

said unto his disciples If any man will come after me He says listen if you want to be a disciple Here's the recipe Here's the formula number one You have to deny Yourself He said if you're going to be my disciple You've got to learn this word right here And we hate this word My five-year-old son since the moment he could understand what dad was saying He detested this word No This is how this is how much we hate I want you to look at your neighbor and just tell him no That felt so good look at your other neighbors say it with a little more passion say no Here is what I know We don't like The word no It's like a cuss word like oh, how dare you tell me no You know, I'd never had to tell my son To appreciate the word yes I had to teach him To embrace the word no There are times that he didn't

understand why a loving father would tell him No And I'm going to just be very transparent Pastor Caleb, I have a hard time Telling my son no I want to tell him yes to every Soda at midnight Why not full sin You only live once we can sleep wouldn't we die And then you give him soda at midnight and it's 3 a.m. He's like And my wife's like you should have said no We don't like the word no But can I tell you Where sin started Was in the absence of no You know where sin comes from It's those original two disciples Not having the fortitude to say no They should have looked at the serpent Instead God said don't touch it So I say no But in a garden Adam and Eve's inability to say no Is where the curse comes from so Jesus says let me reverse the curse and let me start with this If you're gonna be my disciple

You're gonna have to deny yourself Take up your cross And follow me because sin thrives On the absence of no, but here's what I've learned sin dies In the presence Of no I'm telling you the enemy has no answer for a young person who learns how to say no No, I'm not doing that No, I'm not going there No, I'm not dating her. No, I'm not I'm not gonna be so lonely that I lower my standards And it drags me out of the will of God. No, no, I'm not compromising. No, I'm not missing church No, I'm not listening to that. No, I'm not I was somebody would just jump to your feet right now And just let the devil know the answer is no No, I'm not leaving the church. No, I'm not backsliding. No, I'm not compromising Can you imagine with me for just a moment how differently these people's lives would have been? If they would have just said No

Adam and Eve Just saying no to the fruit Cain Say no to your anger Esau Say no to your flesh Aaron Say no to the golden calf David Say no to Bathsheba Solomon Say no to the foreign wives Judas Say no to 30 pieces of silver One no can change an entire Story but instead of doing it gods away these people They did it their way So jesus said i'm gonna fix this if you're gonna follow me You have to say no to your flesh and then You can follow me This is not just something that jesus taught us in a lesson He modeled this in his life In luke chapter 22 and verse number 39 the bible says Jesus is in a garden He says he came out and went as he want to the mount of olives and his disciples followed him And when he was at the place verse 40 the place being the garden the guest ceremony He said

unto them pray That you enter not Into temptation I'm gonna I'm gonna just teach you something right here. You know what temptation is Temptation is across roots You don't always have to fall prey to temptation In temptation you have a choice You say yes to it Or you say no to it And paul teaches us in first Corinthians that god With every temptation Will make a way Of escape Listen to me. It doesn't matter how long your family has been bound by it. You don't have to say yes to it There is a way out and here's the way out. No, i'm not going that way I'm gonna follow jesus christ Come on. It doesn't matter how long i've been bound by that It doesn't matter how long i've been addicted to that tonight is my night to say no to that temptation So jesus says Say no to temptation but watch what he says He says in verse 41 and he was

withdrawn from them about a stone's cast And he kneeled down and prayed This is what he prayed Father If thou be willing Remove this cup from me Here's what jesus was saying If it's possible I don't want to do this Though this is what i was born to do i was born to die Now that this is so close I don't want to do this he was his flesh. I don't want to be crucified But then jesus prays and noticed the tension He says father if you're willing Remove this cup for me But never The less Consider what's happening here We have jesus and a garden with a decision to make Why does this sound familiar? Because the bible opens up with adam and eve in a garden with a decision to make In fact, the bible calls jesus and first corinthians paul writes that jesus is the last adam or the second adam And so what do we have we have jesus

in a garden Making a decision because the first adam was in a garden and had to make a decision And the first adam made a decision in a garden that would forever affect the world But the last adam made a decision in a garden That would forever affect the world And where the first adam failed The last adam prevailed In the garden of eden In essence adam said Not die will but my will be done But when jesus gets to the garden that gets timidy He says no to his flesh and he says not my will But die will be done The first adam chose his way and sin came into the world But the last adam chose god's way come on and salvation would come to the world The first adam chose the way of his flesh The last adam chose the way of the father Come on the first adam opened the door firsthand But the last adam opened the door

for salvation all by winning the war of ways and a garden of prayer Hear me when you've got to make a tough decision make sure you pray about it And here's what jesus did the music can come please Johnny here. Can you come help me? Here's what jesus did He kneels down And he prays And he says father if it's possible Let this cup pass for me And there's a key word If you'll get this word in your arsenal If you'll get this word in your spirit and in your vocabulary. Are you ready? Jesus said this is not What I want to do But never The last Not my will But die will Be done Hear me if you will learn to pray Never the last You'll be able to successfully navigate and win this war of ways When you say god, I want to do it this way But god says no, I want to do it this way god. I want

to go to this school Yeah, but that's not where i'm sending you I want you to go to this school and when you're in that moment And there's this tension if you'll learn to say never the last Not my will But die will Be done, but here is what's so amazing johnny Is when you pray never the less prayers You get never the less answers Because god's will is never the less It's always the more You never settle When you do it god's way You never get less than When you follow god's plan I'm telling you we sell ourselves so short When we try to do it our way But if we'll follow the pattern of jesus and get to a garden and say you know what This was messed up in a garden originally because somebody decided to do it their way So i'm not gonna be like the first adam I'm gonna be like the last adam and when I don't

know what i'm supposed to do And I don't know what i'm supposed to go I'm gonna come to an altar and i'm gonna come to a place to prayer and i'm gonna say god I need you to help me not my will but die will be done. I don't know if i'm supposed to marry her I don't know if i'm supposed to marry him. I don't know if i'm supposed to take this job if you will pray You won't be led astray If you will just ask god Please would you leave me in the right way? I want every student to close your eyes I'm not here Just to preach some Pretty little sermon on a youth rally. I'm telling you I felt such a burden to me You don't have to make the wrong choice If you will sincerely pray And say god I need you to help me He's a loving father and wants you to go the right way But

you got to learn to get to a garden of prayer and say not my will but die Will be done god. I don't want to do it my way Every time I do it my way ends in chaos and destruction God I want to do it your way I want every student and young adult to stand with me right now And I want you to lift up your hands And I want you to make a commitment right now. We're about to come and we're about to pray tonight When we come to this altar Come when we're going back to the garden Where we originally lost the war And we're going to say god I'm winning the war tonight Because I'm going to pray nevertheless Not my will Not my way Not my plans Your ways are not my ways Come on young people section one. I'm not just preaching to you something that just sounds good There have been moments in my life

Thank god I had leaders and thank god I had an altar What god could talk to me and say no True that's not my plan for you And I'm only here tonight because I made my mind up god I want to do it your way My life is not my own god. I belong to you I want a student if you're serious about this. I want you to step out and I want you to come And I want you to come and pray god Maybe there's young adults right now that are facing Some very serious decisions. Maybe there's leaders here Come on. You never graduate from this with every stage of life There'll be new decisions and there'll be new dilemmas and there'll be new choices But if you want to stay in the will of god, you've got to follow the voice

of god You don't have to backslide. You don't have to be led astray You don't have to be destroyed But you got to follow god's way Come on lift up your voice and pray no music for just a moment. He level door up Come on lift up your voice and pray right now. He level soto yadah Come on. I want you to continue to play but no singing. Hey ta la bo shata Come on young people lift up your voice Horra bo yodo ro ro bo soto yadah. I need you I need the spirit to lead me. I don't want to make a decision. That's going to destroy my life I don't want to say yes to something that's going to destroy my life Soto rabbi yadah rabbi shata yadah Let me show you something If you could put luke 22 verse 42 back up I want to show you how this works Father, if it be possible Let there be another way

but nevertheless Not my will Not my way But thy will be done and I want to show you what happens in the next verse go to verse 43 and there appeared an angel to him From heaven here is what I've learned heaven response to people Who say no to their flesh And yes to the spirit here's what's about to happen We're making decisions tonight pastor clay It's not what I want It's about what god wants and here's what I know heaven to respond Because listen it's not easy to choose god's way but if you'll do it heaven will send you strength To make it through this tough decision. I want every hand to be lifted right now Tonight we are going to win this war of ways And the card and the prayer come on. I want you to lift up your voice and I want you to begin to pray Come on. There are moments in your life where the will of

god and the will of your flesh will have a collision And this is how you make it through Nevertheless not my will but I will be done Come on students. I want you to lift up your voice and pray right now Oh god, would you lead us god? You are not the author of confusion You are god that brings clarity. You are the god of peace God right now. I pray you touch every young person In the name of jesus come on students lift up your voice and pray God, I need you to talk to me. God. I need you to speak to me
