amen what an honor and a privilege it is to be here and i will tell you i have had the most tremendous time this weekend with my friends and i count them as friends giving honor to bishop and sister mccool and i tried to talk her into preaching i think she just didn't want to make me look bad but it's so good to see her again and to pastor and sister mccool and pastor anthony and sister kelly and pastor nate and sister ashley we have had a great time and i give honor to them and i thank them for their kind words i thank you and everyone i've met i give honor to you and to the ministry here you have a special church and i won't say it again i've said it a lot already but you're in a special place amen if my daughters are watching viv and gemma i cannot wait to see you in the morning daddy's coming to get you and to my church family if you're watching we we miss you and again as to what pastor mccool said it is hard to leave but when good friends call you do not say no and i would not want to miss this opportunity for the world i feel of everyone in the room my wife can attest to this because she said don't say anything self-deprecating when you get up there okay i'll put it like this of all the people in this room i feel the most unworthy to be in this pulpit but i'm so thankful to have this opportunity to preach to such incredible people amen let's go to the book of joshua thank you let's go to the book of joshua chapter number six okay now if you were here friday you i told you that what helps my personal anxiety is if i know what's going on okay so i'm gonna help your personal anxiety tonight and i'm gonna tell you what's gonna happen i'm gonna preach and for the love of god it's the last night [Music] do not sit on me please okay if you preach with me god is going to absolutely blow your mind in just a minute and that's not me just being overzealous i feel it in the holy ghost tonight that he wants to touch you but we got to respond to his word amen amen tonight let's read joshua chapter 6 verse number 10. and joshua had commanded the people saying you shall not shout nor make any noise with your voice look at your neighbor and say be quiet [Music] neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day i bid you shout then not before no don't get too excited but when i say shout tonight i want to talk to you for just a few minutes on the subject no noise but a shout no noise but a shout out why don't we do this put our bibles to our side let's lift up our voices and pray together that god will help me and you tonight can we do that lord we thank you we praise you we give you glory for all things god we are praying and believing in faith that you're going to meet us in this house tonight we thank you for meeting us here this morning and this past friday but we know that you're not done that truly you're going to start this year out right and we're going to leave tonight changed by the power and the presence of the holy ghost i pray right now that you'll begin to loosen the stones from the walls that have been holding people back from promise and miracles god and i pray under the anointing and the unction of the holy ghost by using the power and the authority that is in the name of jesus and we rebuke anything that could hinder that could bind tonight god and we pray that your spirit will have free reign in this place come on can we praise the lord together oh hallelujah amen god bless you as you are seated tonight no noise but a shout i was the younger brother to a much older aggravating sister i said that in hopes that she's watching she don't really watch me preach so my mom probably heard it and she probably didn't so it's okay but i can remember when i was a kid that i loved to talk i loved to talk man i could talk i could talk the bark off a tree i could talk the paint off the walls and any other saying you would want to make this boy could do it then i had a little girl and god has a way of serving justice to the unjust and you know there's times where you really do reap what you sow and i've got the daughter that could ask you a billion questions some of them the same as if she never heard the answer the first time and i love her with all my heart but anybody's kids ever aggravate you a little bit y'all don't lie you know fine i i me my kid aggravates me sometimes because she asks so many questions they say that on average men will say around 7 000 words a day women on average please don't be offended by this we'll say 20 000 in a day on average we're not in an average place so i'm sure that's none of you tonight but of those words only five and this is average on both sides only 5 to seven hundred are anything meaningful the vast majority of what we say means very little we live in a world that is absolutely full of noise words that are typed on a facebook page as as men and women that get that umph that that gumption that you get behind the sacred desk of a facebook post you know it's it's the people that feel that righteous indignation that are you can't see their face they'll type the words and we're inundated with noise from every direction all the words that that flood into our ears whether it come by the radio whether it come by the television or it come by facebook instagram twitter it doesn't matter the words that we read the words that we hear very little of it has much if any meaning that means that there is so much noise in the world today there's so many people vying for your attention vying for you to pay close attention to what they're saying some will be conspiracy theorists living in their mother's basements but making millions of dollars others will be political activists that will write and try to get you to believe a certain way because they'll they'll they'll put pen to paper or they'll type on their keyboard and they'll tell you a story full of noise but a few words will get you full of noise but a few things will stick out and it captures our attention it grips our hearts and our minds hollywood has become the kings and queens of this we'll sit and watch netflix for hours at a time binge watching episode after episode when we finish up we feel groggy and distracted we feel like we can't focus why because our minds have been inundated with nothing but noise entertainment in the moment that causes the brain to switch off and allow it keeps us from feeling anxiety it keeps us from feeling fear from feeling depression and we self-medicate with all the noise in the world we listen to all of these things we we do all of these things and sports is the same way all of the noise but times we'll find in scripture where god would speak to men through the unction of the spirit telling them to be quiet and to be still when he would speak to elijah there was a bunch of noise that would happen a bunch of earthquaking and and fire raging and all of these things would take place but jesus's voice was in none of it god's voice came when everything was quiet when the noise was shut off oh it came in a still small voice that if the noise would have been raging you could have never heard it what we have to do in our lives today is we have to quiet the noise that comes into our ears and makes its way to our hearts we have to quiet the noise of the gossip from the brother or the sister that's become disgruntled with everything that's going on with the church we have to quiet the noise of that person who left the truth so long ago and now wants to be an expert on all things that are godly we have to quiet the noise of political activists and athletes and movie stars that try to get our attention and take our eyes off of god now i feel comfortable with you all tonight because i've been here twice and if i preach something that's wrong pastor or bishop will correct it i promise if i do grab me by the coattails and drag me off exit stage left okay but let me tell you we let so much nonsense into our lives and it drafts automatically out of our bank account as we pay 10 15 20 a month if you want hd you'll pay 18.99 a month because we want to be numb to everything that's going on and we let all of this noise into our life that in eternity will mean absolutely nothing we let men that make millions of dollars playing a game of basketball tell we tell us what we should believe about political life and religious life when there's a man of god and a woman of god that stand up on a sunday morning and try to tell you how to live do you think lebron james cares about your soul no he just wants another dollar but let me tell you you got an entire family sitting up here that's not preaching noise to you that's giving you the truth [Applause] we ought to be thankful tonight sick and tired of the noise a pastor a church that's so multi-ethnic i i i don't really like the term multicultural because we adopt the kingdom culture it's multi-ethnic people from all walks of life i got kids that grew up in the hood whose mom was a prostitute i got guys that grew up in the country that loved to go hunting on the weekend let me tell you i see it all if any nascar driving or telling you how to live it's a movie star if it ain't kardashian telling you how to live it's a it's an athlete playing sports let me tell you something the only noise that i'm going to tell you the only thing you should allow in your life is not the noise of people that don't care about you but it should be the voice of a man or a woman of god that is going to give a count it's going to be a watchman on the wall that will say one day yes i did everything that i could [Applause] nate don't make fun of me tonight i know i'm preaching kind of hard i say that because we we're close like that we let so much nonsense into our lives all the stinking noise and let me tell you sometimes the noise call it comes from people who call themselves believers it's the people that pay their ties they feel like because because they pay their tithes they it's a social club now we can say whatever we want to say you notice i'm really letting it go on last night i ain't got nothing to lose now i'm getting in a truck in the morning i'm going back to wilmington baby praise god i made it through two by golly we're gonna get through this one and let me tell you we do all we let all of this noise into our lives people that sit on a pew right beside you if they ever and i'm not just saying this because they're my friends i have a healthy reverence and fear for for the men and women of god in my life if they talk bad about the man or woman of god the next words out of your mouth are ought to be we don't talk like that around here you ought to tell them to sit on the other side of the church or you get up and move yourself because we ain't got no room for backbiting apostolic apathetic people that think they can sit in a pew an armchair expert their way to the pulpit and think they're better than the pastor we ain't got time for all that nonsense and noise [Applause] praise god i'm not just saying that so they'll pay me extra i pastor a church i know what it's like to have people attack you because they feel like you're making bad decisions i'm a young pastor i've had people do that but i've also let me tell you something their fruit's going to show i'm not judging people don't tell me i'm judging people know i'm a fruit inspector you come up here with those sour grapes i'm going to be able to tell you that there ain't something right in the soil that you got yourself planted in and you need to go plant yourself right over there because this pew's going to heaven honey i ain't got time to listen to your noise because i'm listening to the voice of god praise god i'm preaching so good the poodle's going to get saved tonight hallelujah yes sir let me tell you we got to be men and women of god that stand up for truth and righteousness in a day of nonsense and noise if it's been right it is right and i'm not one of these guys let me tell you i don't do the smashing tv thing that ain't me nope i'm not gonna do it let me tell you why because that ain't nothing to me what you do i'm just going to preach you what i think is the truth but i'm going to tell you tonight we've got to be a people that are more serious about god than we are of the noise that is coming out of this world today let me tell you that's why the bible says we are in it but we are not of it because god called us out of it in the first place then go ahead and plug your ears because we got to get away from the noise we're going to shout in a minute i promise i'll get you there let me tell you noise will keep you from the promised land they walked up to jericho i read it tonight they walked up to jericho they're looking at these great walls i can't imagine me and joshua we got a little bit in common we both followed men that are a lot like moses everybody loved everybody loves my father-in-law everybody i do too and i'm going to tell you something that man he's the closest thing i've ever seen i could walk on water okay and i can't imagine what joshua felt when they said joshua you're going to go and you're going to take that city say what now that's yours and not just that but that is the gateway to the promised land that thing right there is a thing that's going to cause you to see everything else that i've told all of your ancestors about that they're going to have and he gives them this instruction he says i want you to go talk to the people and i want you to tell them what we're going to do we're going to march around the walls of jericho six days one time a day six days then on the seventh day i'm going to want you to take everybody and we're gonna walk around the walls of jericho seven times and on the seventh time we're gonna have the priests have those rams horn they're gonna lift them up and we're gonna blow them real loud and when we blow those ram's horns everybody's going to shout and what's that going to do god just watch joshua assembles the people he says here we go here's what we're going to do and he lays it all out for him and this is what he says was i thought was so incredible he says as we get together and as we are waiting those other six days and the six times on the seventh day i don't want you to say a word i don't want you to murmur i don't want you to talk about how big the wall is i don't want to i don't want you to talk about how thick it is i don't want to talk i don't want you to talk about anything i just want you to walk and i want you to look we have a hard time being quiet sometimes i'm the king of not quiet silence makes me uncomfortable my wife she doesn't like silence we'll be laying in the bed relaxing and she'll be like can you turn on the sound machine please sure level four brown noise really close to white but a little deeper on the frequency level put your big boy to sleep we don't like the quiet because it's a place of reflection we don't like the quiet because we're left alone with our thoughts that's why we let the noise in in the first place because we don't want to have to think about everything that's going on the quiet gave them moments to reflect the quiet gave them moments to look back over everything that god had brought them through the quiet gave them time to think about the 40 years they would have to wonder because some believed the report and the vast majority of others didn't so an entire generation had to die and in that moment they hear the voice of god coming at the hand of joshua as he speaks over the people no noise don't speak a word until i tell you it's time you see god's waiting room is god's preparation room and we have a hard time being quiet while we're waiting we've been waiting so long for a miracle i just don't think it's going to happen wait god told you to be quiet i've been waiting so long for my child to come back and here i am still waiting wait god told you to be quiet stand still wait don't speak don't murmur don't complain don't do what our flesh wants to do in the moment just wait on god and then the day came they didn't complain i bet their feet were hurting i bet their backs were hurting i bet the men of war were the adrenaline was pumping and it was so hard to keep their voices quiet because they would be the ones the mighty men of war that would be the very front of the processional i can imagine as they stand there gritting their teeth waiting for that seventh time in anticipation oh they're going around the first it's just not much different than the others oh here is a second time we haven't done this yet and they go third fourth fifth and sixth and then all of a sudden the quietness was supposed to cease and they heard the horns blow out and in that moment joshua with the loudest voice he could muster cries out to the people shout for now is the time they didn't remain silent they didn't complain about having to be quiet for six days they didn't wait they didn't do anything else besides listen to the command and the bible says they lifted up their voice with a great shout and all of the sudden the walls fell down you see i i thought all of this time i was like okay it wasn't their voices that did it let's be honest all of us in this room could not scream loud enough to get one block on that wall to come out it wasn't the voice then i was like okay shouting praise presence of god he inhabits the praises of his people i could see that maybe i don't even think it was that hebrews chapter 11 and verse 30. can i get that on the screen i am so sorry about that bro i should have definitely told you about that hebrews chapter 11 verse 30. the hall of faith speaks about all of these things that took place by faith the walls now wait a minute now hold on we're going to do that in just a second i promise but not yet because i ain't done by faith the walls of jericho fell down after they were compassed about seven days i'm preaching to people that have been sitting on promises for a really long time i'm preaching to people that have sit on promises for what feels like a lifetime and you've wondered you've thought you may have even opened your voice to question what exactly was going to happen i'm sure joshua thought the same thing but here's what god told them in joshua 6-2 and the lord said unto joshua see i have given into thine hand jericho sweet that's not where it stopped he then begins to lay out his conditions for what exactly is going to take place there listening to his command was not this this great thing of of standing up and shouting in their voices you know i heard a guy say one time and and that you know whenever you scream that it comes out of your mouth when it comes out of your mouth it shreds the air and the devil's the prince and the power in the air so it shreds the devil i know has a lot and i'm not arguing i'm just saying that didn't happen this time and i surely i thought that the presence of god would be there but no their action showed their faith in god their shout showed their faith and his ability to work in that situation we sing this morning about the mountain being moved and if we speak to it it'll happen let me tell you we don't speak to that and it happened without faith we don't look at problems and and circumstances and speak over them to be taken care of and it will not happen if it is absence of faith so we're going to get somewhere in just a second let me tell you a praise that is done without faith that god is able and trust that whatever he does you'll be okay with is not the kind of praise that's going to get some things done but let me tell you i grew up in an old school apostolic pentecostal church sunday night was the throw down night that's where we came in and that's when we left and we picked up bobby pins okay i don't know if y'all still use bobby pins but we picked them up i had a good collection going okay good collection of bobby pins let me tell you something that's leaving the apostolic church and that is an apostolic praise that shakes the absolute foundation of everything you are facing one of the things we cannot lose to the noise of this world is an apostolic shout done in faith that brings down the walls of kingdoms that we are meant to conquer let me tell you you don't have to be addicted anymore it takes an apostolic praise to dance those chains off you don't have to be held back anymore oh but an apostolic praise can make those fetters fall off let me tell you your children can still be saved in an apostolic praise mixed with faith can put things into action we've got to be a people that aren't afraid to let our hair down that aren't afraid to mess up our tie we've got to be a people that says when it's time i will not be silent but i will stand up and shout come on it's apostolica it's anointed it's full of faith and it's going to get some things done tonight hey hey it's happening i can feel it shaken already let me tell you i don't know if it's all true and contextual but he does inhabits the praises of his people when you lift up god he'll enter the house and things will happen when i shout with faith [Applause] but can i quiet the noise can i quiet the noise can i block out my problems you could be seated i'm almost done the musicians are coming and i put the past where it's supposed to be can i stop the gossip long enough to put a praise in my mouth can i forget about what the doctor said and instead think about what god can do can i forget about what my parents said i would become and think about what god can do with me can i quiet the noise so that when my shout goes forth with faith let me tell you i don't believe i don't believe that the walls would have came down unless every person shouted i don't believe if billy bob from benjamin would have been complaining that the the great tribe of judah with its 74 600 mighty men of war could have ever overrode one complainer because we find when they came back with their report two men two men said it looks like it's really hard but we can take it and then the multitude of people the vast majority the way the bible reads listen to the negative they listen to the noise they listen to the naysayer they listen to the gossip and the complaints they listen to the problems they listen to the circumstance they didn't listen to the men i said they could do it because of that an entire generation would die in the wilderness they got another chance and joshua who would walk up to this insurmountable task the gateway to the promise now let me go ahead and give you a disclaimer you can tell don't preach with notes because that just came out of nowhere like a squirrel let me give you a disclaimer when the walls fell they still had to fight they said they went up there and cleaned house your praise will unlock doors that won't always be easy oh but it'll always be the will of god [Music] and they weren't silent they weren't quiet they weren't stealed but with a great big old loud voice they let out a shout and the walls fell down as we stand to our feet i know that this is what we talked about today i can take for granted sometimes be growing up in an apostolic church and i know it looks funny sometimes i see a big boy in a little suit dancing around screaming [Music] but apostolic praise has worked for a long long long long long long time so why don't y'all come down to the front for just a minute [Applause] [Music] and let me tell you what's getting ready to happen hey y'all getting way too excited up there i hear it already okay now i don't want to start with the shout beat although my heart really wants it right now that's not where i want to start we'll get there we're going i promise we are i know i just made them real nervous because i told them we're going to shout we are but let me tell you where it starts you could dance your way out of this church and into a bar [Music] you hyper-emotionalize this thing okay because i'm gonna tell you this ain't no emotional thing where you come up here and you dance and you cry and you shout you spit and you snot and then you you go home and you cussing okay i think what this is no no no no no no this is one of those old-fashioned good old apostolic moves of the holy ghost that when you shout the presence of god is going to enter into this place like you've never felt this year at least okay so here's what we're going to do i'm not a big fan of that that that you know count and everybody shouts but there was a way that they knew that it was time for everybody to shout so that the walls would come down it takes a unified body unified in spirit and mind to lift up a voice and for walls to break and let me tell you what's getting ready to happen 2022 is going to be the year of miracles in this church and i believe it by the power of the holy ghost and i can feel it right now but here's what it takes we're going to lift up our voice with a shout and we're going to take about 15 minutes to scream and holler and yell it's like you're at neeland stadium and we just won at the national championship okay that's what we're getting ready to do and then they're going to make us shout until bobby's bobby pins start flying so on the count of three i want you to lift up your voice and shout as loud as you can but i want you to mix it with your faith so that the walls are going to come down you got to believe it's going to happen miracles are going to happen signs and wonders are going to follow them that believe it's getting ready to happen here we go on the count of three one two three shout on to god with a voice of triumph let the walls come down in jesus name be healed in jesus name be delivered in jesus name we speak to those children commanding them to come home in jesus name come on that's it that's it that's it that's it that's it he's getting ready to move that's it that's it that's it [Music] nicole let's praise him let's praise this [Applause] tonight hallelujah [Applause] come on and come on praise him come on and praise him [Music] [Applause] all right we're close we're really close but we're not quite there just yet [Music] because there's some people too worried about their tie and we're still a little too worried about the bobby pins and wrinkling the jacket let me tell you 65 or 6 500 or 650 for a tie it would never stop me from praising god what we've got to do is be a people so here's what we're going to do we're going to break it all the way down all the way down i only want to be thank you bros y'all sound so good because we think apostolic means what i just asked them to do so it's not y'all's fault it's mine let me tell you in the upper room they didn't have music they didn't have a sound system they didn't have a microphone and thank god for technology that we can reach people all across the world and we can sound and look good doing it but let me tell you i don't want my dignity to get in the way of a move of god so one more time with no music i want us just to lift up our voice together come on shout out to shout shout in faith shout in faith shout and faith shout in faith shout in faith come on that child is coming home come on that sin that's it that's it that's the divine move of god's spirit that's it that's it that's it [Applause] come on don't stop don't stop [Applause] come on i feel some strength coming in here right now [Applause] come on i feel some strength coming in here right now come on that's it come on first apostolic church that's it this is a good old-fashioned move of the holy ghost [Applause] shout unto god shout unto god shout unto god shout and come on get your strength get your peace get your joy come on that's it that's it that's it that's it that's it [Applause] i'm getting my joy back i'm getting my joy back he's been caged up in jericho too long i'm getting my peace back i'm getting my strength back it's been caged up in jericho too long i'm shouting with faith and god is pouring out his spirit [Applause] [Applause] come on that's it that's a genuine move of god's spirit right now [Applause] this ain't emotional hi this is the holy ghost [Applause] yes come on musicians that's it that's i feel my help coming on [Applause] come on that sid i feel my help coming on i feel my peace coming back i feel my strength coming back that's it that's it come on that's it that's it that's it don't stop right now we're so close come on that's it [Music] that's it that's it you see it's not all hype it's the holy ghost [Music] come on that's it don't stop right now right now is not the time to give up right now is the time to just keep on pushing in the spirit just for another minute we're right here we're right here right now i'm telling you god is here in this place yes [Music] come on that's it i know sometimes we don't know what to do in this moment but why don't we all just lift our hands together come on that's it the holy ghost is moving all in this place right now [Music] jesus jesus the holy ghost is here [Music] my in the name of jesus right now god i pray for strength to come upon him in the name of jesus [Music] ah my god jesus [Music] let me share with you real quick what i feel in the spirit to do right now god is moving we're not going to quench anything people can keep on praying moses would have an experience with god as he would speak out to him from a burning bush and in that moment he would say put off your shoes you're standing on holy ground this moment right now is a sacred moment we're standing on holy ground right now and this is what i would like for us to do pastor if this is okay if you could come up real quick when when john would write letters to the churches he didn't address it to the people he addressed it to the angel of the church who was the pastor i am a pastor i am not your pastor there is a special burden that this man and his family and i've seen it personally carry for this church and this is what i would like for him to do if he feels comfortable is i would like for him to pray over us and this is what i feel is getting ready to take place that god is going to sweep through this house one more time and if as he prays if you'll lift your hands god is getting ready to refill renew restore everything that the enemy has taken from you will you lift up your voice and lift up your hand as he prays tonight
