Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The text: sin crouching at the door (Genesis 4)

  • Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering, and Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock; the Lord had respect unto Abel and his offering, but unto Cain and his offering he had not respect.
  • God’s warning to Cain is the sermon’s text: if you do well, you will be accepted; if you do not well, sin lies at the door, its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.
  • The heart is the true self: the seat of emotion, the center of the will and of decision, and the source of understanding, and so the heart’s door is the door that matters.
  • Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life: guarding the heart determines the course of a life.
  • David’s cry in repentance is the heart’s remedy: create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Scriptures: Genesis 4:1-7; Matthew 15:18; Proverbs 4:23; Psalms (book-only, as spoken)

Discernment and discipline: 3D vision at the door

  • Discernment tries what knocks: believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.
  • Prove all things; hold fast that which is good; abstain from the very appearance of evil.
  • Paul’s prayer for the church is for love abounding more and more in knowledge and all discernment, approving what is excellent.
  • Discipline is the fruit of the Spirit, self-control: a man without it is like a city broken into and left without walls.
  • The grace of God that brings salvation teaches us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.
  • Discipline seems painful for the moment, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Scriptures: 1 John 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22; Philippians 1:9-10; Proverbs 25:28; Titus 2:11-12; Hebrews 12:11

Dominion — and the other guest at the door

  • Dominion is obeying the word of God and serving notice on the enemy: you are not welcome in this house, this marriage, or these children — not on any day of the week.
  • There is a second guest at the door: Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.
  • That word was written to a church grown lukewarm and self-sufficient, yet he still knocks; drifting takes nothing but doing nothing.
  • The appeal: someone in the house must decide who gets in — the sin crouching at the door, or the mercy standing at it. He will knock, but he will not push the door down; opening it is ours to do.

Amen. Let's, as Bishop said earlier, let's lift that praise to the Lord. Amen. If he kept you this week, Amen. I think the greatest miracles of God are not what we know he brought us through, but things we don't even know. Danger that he we don't even know that he kept us from. Amen. I believe even this week there were plans the enemy had for my destruction, but the hand of the Lord kept me. Amen. And I think he's worthy of praise today for keeping me from things I don't even know he kept me from. Amen. Amen. I do want to say what a blessing it is to be at uh what I consider to be one of the great legacy churches in the apostolic movement. Amen. Along with uh the great Bishop and Sister Mcool who are legends of in the apostolic faith, heroes in the apostolic faith and we give honor to them as well. Amen. We thank the Lord for their ministry, the example they have been certainly pastor and sister Mcool, Pastor Anthony and Kelly. Amen. Also my friend brother Nate Whitley and his wife Ashley. We give honor to the great leadership of this church. Would you help me right now and just give a hand clap of appreciation. Amen. Amen. A man who is a great influence in my life, John Maxwell, made a statement that everything rises and falls on leadership. Amen. And I believe this church is on its way up. It's rising. And that's because of great leadership. And we give the Lord praise for that today. If you would turn with me in your Bibles to the book of Genesis, chapter 4. Amen. Genesis chapter 4. And I've heard that when you're in a good college football town, it's always better when they win. I'm from Maryland, so I would not know. It doesn't matter if they win or lose. Nobody cares. Ra a resounding win though yesterday by the Orange. Me and me and Pastor Nate got together to watch the game and he left after the about 10 minutes in. It wasn't worth watching any longer. Amen. So, it's so good to be here at this great church. Always an honor to be invited. Amen. And uh reading from Genesis chapter 4, beginning at verse one, the Bible says that Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bare Cain and said, "I have gotten a man from the Lord." And she again bare his brother Abel, and Abel was a keeper of the sheep. But Cain was a tiller of the ground. that in the process of time came to pass that Cain brought and uh that I'm sorry, it came in the process of time that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstling of his flock, and of the fat thereof, and the Lord had respect unto Abel into his offering, but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell countenance fell. And the Lord said unto Cain, "Why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lith at the door, and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Amen. Thou shalt rule over him. The Lord bless you. You can be seated. I want to preach for just a few minutes on this beautiful Sunday morning. There is motion at your door. Amen. There is motion at your door. We live in a world today where technology gives us incredible access and insight even when it comes to something as simple as the door. Take the Ring camera for example. With just a notification on your phone, you can see who is at your door. You can hear them. You can speak to them. And most importantly, you can decide whether or not to let them in. It's like clockwork in my house. Every morning, whether I'm at home or even this morning all the way over in Knoxville, Tennessee, at 5:30 in the morning, I'm going to get a notification that there is motion at my door. And my cat, Olly, who is apparently on a very strict meal plan, comes strolling up the back porch, and when I get to the door, he's just sitting there. I would not I would say patiently, but I don't think it's patiently, waiting for me to feed him. That Ring camera has let me know. I can be at work. I can be in another state. I can be halfway around the world. And through the technology of this app, I can view what is taking place on my front porch. It allows you to view the area, assess the situation, and determine the intent, whether the person at the door is either friend or foe, whether it is danger or delight, all while remaining safely behind the locked door. On Christmas Day in Sanford, Florida, Marlene Stark was in her kitchen cooking Christmas dinner when she was alerted to the fact that there was motion at her front door. The Ring camera recorded a 43 second clip of a mama bear pawing at the door handle along with her cub and then they began to try to push the door down. Another Ring camera gave us footage of a homeowner in Cypress, Texas, who received notification that there was motion at her front door. When she opened up the app, she found it was not Amazon delivering a package. It was not Door Dash bringing her lunch, but much to her dismay, she found a large wild chicken snake slithering through a wire basket on her front porch. In January of 2022, there was a family in Vale, Colorado. The Ring camera, the notification went off that there is motion at your door. And they opened the app to look and they had just moved into this home. They were very new to the area. And there as they viewed on the footage a large agitated mountain line, very aggressively charging at their front door and growling very loud. The perturbed predator would approach the house not once but twice that evening. Thank God for Ring cameras. Perhaps the most chilling and footage of all of those that I will present to you was what a ring cap a ring camera captured in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A clown carrying a large group of black balloons lurking on the front lawn before approaching the door and very awkwardly and creepily peering into the house. Amen. All of these examples of motion at a physical door are unexpected. They're unnerving and they are unwelcome. But this morning, I want to shift our focus from our physical door to a different kind of door. The one that cannot be seen with a camera. The one that does not protect our house, but it protects our heart. Scripturally speaking, the heart is not just that fist-sized organ that is beating within your chest, circulating blood throughout your body, but spiritually speaking, the heart represents our true self. It's the inner me. It's what I can't fake. On the outside, I may be able to put on a persona of who I am, but the heart is who I really am. The heart captures my desires. It encomp it encompasses multiple dimensions. First of all, we would learn that biblically the heart is the seat of emotion. It's the source of our feelings, our moods, and our passions. It's the part of us where joy and love also grief and fear come out of this place called the heart. It is also the center of human valition. It represents our choice, our conscience. It is where our will resides at. It serves as the center of our decision makingaking. It is where our desires dwell. It is also the center of our understanding. The heart functions as a source of thought and reflection with intellectual capabilities that allow wisdom and understanding. It's for this reason that Jesus declared in Matthew chapter 15 and verse 18 that it is the things that proceed out of the heart that defile a man. It's not what we consume. It's not the food that we eat, but it is the stuff that comes out of this inner part of us where our will, our desires, and our intellect dwell. It was at his lowest point. And it is most intimate time of desperate prayer that David in this time of repentance would cry out to God, create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. I'm here today talking to us about the importance of guarding our hearts. Uh it was the wise Solomon who would proclaim in Proverbs 4 and23 keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life or as the New Living Translation renders it guard your heart above everything else for it determines the course and the direction of your life. Just like these ring notifications, God gives us a conscience and we begin to receive these notifications that there is motion detected at the door of our heart. What's at the door? It may be opportunity or it may be a threat. And so for the next few moments, I want to talk to you about two very different notifications that will come at the door of your heart. The first one we find in our text that we read in Genesis chapter 4. Here we read the story of Cain and Abel. We find that it's come time to offer sacrifice. And Cain and Abel have both brought sacrifice to offer unto the Lord. We know that Cain, the Bible tells us, brings us of the fruit of the ground. It's an offering that is deemed not to be acceptable of the Lord. It's not pleasing unto the Lord. At the same time, his brother Abel brings of the firstling of his flock. He brings his very best. And the Bible says that Abel brought a more excellent sacrifice unto the Lord. And the Bible tells us that God looks down upon the sacrifice of Abel and he is pleased by it. Rather than Cain lifting up his sacrifice, he decides to tear down the sacrifice of his brother. H decides rather than giving God excellence, he'll simply destroy the one who did give excellence. Amen. And I would tell you today, let that be a lesson to all of us today. Amen. If somebody is giving God praise, don't tear down their praise. Just determine in your heart that I'm going to give God a more excellent sacrifice of praise. How many of you believe today that he deserves our best? >> Come on. He woke me up this morning. He gave me strength in my body. He gave me a mind to serve him. Come on. He gave me mobility today. I would not even be here today if it weren't for the Lord. The Bible tells us that as Cain is lingering in this jealousy as he is mulling over the next step that he will take, there is hatred growing in his heart. God knows all things. God sees the heart of Cain. He approaches them. He approaches Cain and says to him, "If you do well, you will be accepted. But if you do not well, you need to understand there's motion at your door. Sin is crouching at your door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it. There is motion at your door. Can I tell you the first predator that is lurking at the door of the heart of every individual in this room today is sin. Sin is crouching at the door. I don't care how long you've been in the church. I don't care if you're fifth or sixth generation apostolic. I don't care if you've got the Bible memorized from front to back. Sin is crouching at the door. Tell your neighbor there's motion at your door. If the adversary can convince you and I, if the adversary can convince us to just crack the door a little bit, if he can convince you to let down your guard and just open that door a little bit, if he can just get his proverbial foot in the door, he knows that he can gain access and begin to wreak havoc in our lives. And if sin showed up looking like the creepy clown, the slithering snake, the growling bear, or the growling lion, we would not let it in. But sin doesn't show up like that. I'm fairly confident that none of us, having seen the images from those ring cameras, I don't know about you, but I can't even look at the one with the snake on it. I'm thankful it didn't show up on that screen. If any of those guests had showed up at our front door, none of us would have opened the door and let them in. Oh, come on in, hungry bear. Join us for Christmas dinner. None of us would have said to that agitated mountain lion, "Come on in and make yourself at home." We would not have looked at that slithering snake and said, "I insist come and make yourself at home." None of us would have looked at that creepy clown bearing those black balloons and said, "Mikasa is sucasa." None of us would have said that. We would not do that. But sin does not show up at the door as a ferocious bear. It doesn't knock as a snarling lion. It doesn't come as a slithering snake or a stalking clown. Sin is better than that. Sin is wiser than that. The devil is smarter than that. He is more of a sinister trickster than that. In fact, in in the United States, an average of only two people each year die from being mowled by a bear. Only two a year. doesn't mean I'm going to go out there and tempt my fate. Now, my my wife's I'm I'm I'm gonna be transparent for a moment. Y'all might think less of me. I know I'm in uh I'm in the country right now where probably most of you hunt. I've never hunted in my life. My wife has killed uh multiple harvested. I think that's the right word to use. Harvested multiple deers. She's harvested turkey. She's gone bear hunting. I don't see the point of getting up at 5 in the morning going out in the cold. I just don't see it where there's a chance I could be mauled by a bear. All right. But we we went to Alaska a few years ago and my wife was desperate to see a grizzly bear. She wanted to see a grizzly. We've seen a few in the zoo, but she wanted to see one in its natural habitat. And so she said, "I'm going to rub bacon grease on my clothes and go out in the wild." I said, "God bless you. I will pray for you. I'm not tempting fate. Only two bear maulings a year in the United States. People dying from those from mountain lions. Less than 20 people have died from a mountain lion in the last 100 years in in the United States. Snake snake bite casualties. Only five a year people die from snake bites. When I looked up creepy clowns, how many people die from creepy clowns? I could not find one documented. Yet every year over 5,000 die from choking hazards. If you look up how many infants die not from grizzly bears but from teddy bears, the numbers are exponential. The fact is you're more likely to die from a teddy bear than a grizzly bear. Sin does not show up like a growling grizzly bear, but a cuddly teddy bear. The enemy shows up looking like something that belongs in our arms that we can invite in. That it won't harm us. That it's the thing that we've been looking for. Amen. I come today to tell you something. Amen. There is motion at your door. >> What we need, we need 3D vision. Now, I'm going to be a little maybe a little uh cute, I guess, as as a and I'm going to bring you three things that start with the letter D today. We need 3D vision so we can see what is at the door and make the determination that I'm not letting the enemy into my house. The first thing that we need is discernment. Everybody say discernment. Discernment is the God-given ability to distinguish between truth and a lie, between truth and error, between right and wrong, between good and evil. Now, that may sound like common sense, but I think our world has lost common sense. There are so many things going on in our world today that it seems obvious to me that it's wrong, that it's evil, and yet humanity and society are embracing it. But it should not be said of the church. It should not be said of the people of God that we are embracing evil. Uh, amen. That we are flaunting sin. God, give us a spirit of discernment in the church today. Help us, God, to be able to discern between right and wrong, between what is holy and unholy, between what is pleasing and not pleasing unto you. First John 4:1, the writer says, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God." Amen. and that motion at the door. We have a responsibility to try that and make sure that that is of God, that it is pleasing to God. Amen. That it is profitable for me as a child of God. Uh 1 Thessalonians 5 21 says that we should prove all things. Hold fast to that which is good and abstain from the very appearance of evil. Discernment. Everybody say discernment. If I'm going to keep the enemy at the door, if I'm not going to open the door and give him access to my home and to my family, I'm glad to be here this morning preaching to this great congregation. But my first responsibility is to my family. And I refuse to give the enemy access to my wife. I refuse to give the enemy access to my children. And so I need discernment in this hour. Uh I need to know that what I'm allowing on the screens in my home are pleasing unto God. I need to know that what I'm allowing to burst in the ear pod airpods of my children is pleasing unto God because I don't want to give the enemy access to my family. Prove all things. Philippians chapter 1, Paul writing to the church from the English Standard Version in verse 9 says that this it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more with knowledge and all discernment so that you may approve what is excellent and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ with knowledge and all discernment. Discernment is the ability to see who is really at the door. It's not being deceived and letting something in that may look cute and cuddly, but once it gets inside the walls of my home, it's going to destroy my marriage. Uh, once it gets inside the walls of my house, it's going to destroy my children. God, give us discernment in this hour to keep the enemy outside of our homes. To keep the devil's hands off of our children, to keep the devil's hands out of our marriage, I want my family to thrive in Jesus Christ. I want my children to grow in Jesus Christ. And so we need discernment. I wonder could we raise our hands all around this room and ask God. The Bible tells us if we'll ask of him that he will give to us liberally wisdom and understanding. I believe discernment is the attribute that combines wisdom and understanding. And so God, I pray today, give me discernment. If I've allowed something into my home, God, that has the potential to be destructive, help me, Lord, to get that thing out of my househ Lord. Help me to get that influence out of the hands of my children, God. Because I have a responsibility to get that thing and keep that out of my home. Hallelujah. Second thing that we need is discipline. Everybody say discipline. Discipline is actually one of the nine fruit of the spirit. I'm not here today to talk to you about self-discipline. Got a guy in our church whose father was a master sergeant in the Air Force and to toughen his self-discipline. He would put a butterscotch candy in his mouth and he would force himself over and over again not to bite on that candy. I tell you, I don't even have that good a discipline. If I put candy in my mouth, I'll tell myself, "You're not going to bite that candy. You're just going to let it dissolve." And about 10 seconds later, I'm crunching through the thing. That's self-discipline. I'm not talking about self-discipline. I'm talking about the fruit of the spirit. Amen. The fruit of the spirit is listed as self-control. Uh and that is discipline. And if you've got the Holy Ghost, God has given you the ability to discipline. God has given you the ability to have and exert self-control. Amen. It's the ability to regulate one's emotions. Everybody say emotions. Did you know when you got the Holy Ghost, God gave you the ability to regulate your emotions? when that guy cuts you off in traffic. Did you know the Holy Ghost gave you the ability not to anyway whatever might come after that? It's the ability to regulate our thoughts and our behaviors in the face of temptation and impulse. Amen. Again, this is a fruit of the spirit. It is it belongs to the people of God. It is an attribute that comes with the Holy Ghost. It gives us the ability to shut the door on temptation to look at that temptation that is standing at the door and saying, "No, you're not allowed in this househ." Because let's be honest today, I know I talked about discernment. And sometimes we let things in because we didn't know. But there's a lot of things we let in and we did know. We knew it was harmful. We knew it was destructive. We knew that the end of that thing was not going to be pretty, but we let it in anyhow. David knew that Basheba was a bad idea. Samson knew that Delilah was deceitful. Cain knew that killing his brother Abel was wrong, but they gave into their desires. I believe today that God wants to give us a baptism of self-control. That there are things that my flesh desires, but I'm not giving it access into my walk with God. I'm not letting it into my home and my family because I know the end of that thing is destruction. Proverbs 25 and28 tells us that a man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. The devil has access. There's no stopping. It's just a free attack from the enemy. Titus chapter 2 11 says, "The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation unto all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age." I don't think Titus I don't think the spirit of God was naive to the hour we are living in. I believe even in today's society and culture, Amen. God is giving us the power to live upright in this present age. Hebrews 12 11 says the moment for the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. What does that mean? It means in the moment discipline doesn't feel like the right choice but if you'll just wait a little while you're going to see the fruit. Amen. When those kids grow up and they're sitting on the same pews in this church and they're worshiping God. Amen. and God is protecting their families. The discipline is going to be worth it all. That's why Paul said, "I die daily." And Jesus said, "If any man will follow me, let him take up his cross and follow me. I refuse to let to open the door and let danger in, no matter how alluring, enticing, and appealing it may be." Discipline is refusing to open the door. Amen. And when the notification goes off that there is motion at the door of our heart, we need discernment. We need discipline. And we need dominion. Everybody say, "Dminion." >> Dominion. Dominion is the God-given authority and responsibility to rule over what is trying to rule over you. It's taking control over sin, over self, and over spiritual opposition. How? By obeying the word of God. How do I get dominion? by simply obeying what is written in this book. Aren't you thankful for the Bible, for the word of God? How many times have we avoided destruction simply because the teaching and the preaching of the word of God came at a timely moment in our lives? If discretion is the ability to see who's really at the door and discipline is refusing to open the door, then dominion is pressing that button that is on my ring app. It it amplifies that microphone and I begin to speak to what is on the other side of that. Amen. Dominion is turning on that microphone and looking at sin and saying, "You're not welcome here. Amen. You're not allowed in this househ. serving notice to the enemy that you will not destroy my family. You will not destroy my children. You will not destroy my marriage. Uh I'm serving notice to the Listen, you've got you've got dominion today. But you've got to exercise that dominion by letting the enemy know you are not welcome here. >> Not just on Sunday, but you're not welcome on Monday. Not just on Wednesday, but you're not welcome on Friday. You do not have dominion in this home. >> Amen. Some of us want to let sin linger on the porch. We don't want to turn on the microphone and tell them the police are on their way. We don't want to do that because right now I may not want what's on the other side, but later on I might want what's on the other side of that. And so we don't exercise dominion. But I know this as a child of God, we have authority in this room today. As a child of God, you've got the name of Jesus upon your life. Amen. God has given you the power, the authority to exercise dominion. And let the devil know I'm establishing right now that my children will be saved. My children will not be lost. My marriage will thrive. It will not be Listen, if you've got dominion, you have the authority to speak things as though they were. You have authority to stand today and let the devil know my family will be saved. My family will be blessed of God. I don't care what happens in Washington DC. I don't care what happens on Wall Street. My family will be blessed of the Lord. My children will serve the Lord. I wonder if anybody could exercise dominion right now and speak some promise over your family. Uh speak promise over your children. 3D vision, discernment, discipline, and dominion. That that unwanted guest, that motion at the door where sin is crouching at the door. I didn't come today just to speak of is there's some good things that happen at my door. Amen. I I don't know about I I can get into a season where I get kind of addicted to an Amazon delivery. Amen. I think it's my wife maybe more than me, but I'm not going to put it all on her. I think once in a while I'll just be in this funk and I just order something. It's like $2 just cuz I want to see a delivery come. I don't really even want what they're sending. I just want somebody to bring me something. And so when that notification goes off and I see that Amazon man throw that package on the porch and I just ordered me some new coffee beans, I'm excited that the Amazon man is here and my fresh coffee beans are on the porch and I run out there with excitement and joy because not everything that at the door is at the door is negative. But there is a second door that stands at the second guest that stands at the door in Revelation. Amen. Chapter 3 20. Jesus that says, "Behold, I stand at the door and I knock." Uh, if anyone will hear my voice and open up, I will come in and I will suck with him and he will suck with me. Uh, I came today to tell you that there is another guest that is at the door. Amen. There is a guest that is standing at the door today and he wants access into your life. He wants access into your family. He wants access to your marriage and to your children. In context, this letter that we're reading, this portion of the third chapter of Revelation was written to a Leodysian church, a church that had grown complacent in their relationship with God. A church that is defined as neither being hot nor cold, but rather lukewarm. They had become self-sufficient. They had become self-dependent. They had become self- sustaining. Their fervent love for God had been cooled by their affluence and their prosperity. What had started out as devoted service and a passionate pursuit had now become nothing more than an act of obligation and only when it was convenient. In spite of God's goodness, they had prioritized their own desires and their own pursuit pursuits above the worship of God. And can we be honest today? I believe it is easy for the North American church to fall into this trap. We are a blessed people. Three amens. We are a blessed people. >> Five amens. We are a blessed people. >> Amen. The person in this room today with the least, I don't it may be me today. I don't know if we compare bank accounts, I might be at the bottom of the totem pole. But you know what? The the one in this building today with the least, you are in the top 5% of the world today. God has been good to us. We are blessed of God. We live in nice houses. We drive beautiful vehicles. Amen. And sometimes we forget where we were when God found us. We forget what he delivered us from. We forget what he brought us out of. And we end up like the land of the sea in church. >> Do you know what it takes to grow cold in your faith? Do you know what it takes to just kind of get to the point where serving God is an obligation? The answer is nothing. All that you've got to do to drift toward lukewarm state and a stagnant status is simply do nothing. That's why when I come to church, even if I don't feel anything, I'm going to raise my hands because I know where nothing takes me. I know where a lack of praise leads to. And so, I'm going to lift my hands. Even if I don't know the song, I'm going to lift my voice because I don't want to end up in that place. But even in this place that the Leodysian church finds themselves in of indifference and apathy, the notification that there is motion at your door did not show up to a fervent on fire people that were just in desperate service of God. It showed up to a complacent group of people. And God showed up and said, "Hey, I'm knocking on your door. I just want you to know that you haven't drifted too far from me that I won't come in. There's motion at the door of somebody's heart today. And God is standing at the door and he is knocking. And he said, "If any man if any man, it doesn't matter how old you are, how much money you've got, what color your skin is, if any man will open up, he will come in and suck with you." Hallelujah. Feel like there's motion at the door today, pastor. I feel like the Holy Ghost, the King of Kings, is standing at the door today and he's knocking. Some of you have gotten cold in your faith. You're not on fire like you once were, but he's standing at the door and he is knocking. Amen. You might have drifted into sin, but he's standing at the door and he's knocking. You might have come today out of obligation, but he's standing at the door and he's knocking. And if you'll open up that ring app, what you're going to find is there's new mercy at the door every morning. Amen. When you open up that door, you're going to find that the grace of God has appeared unto all men. David said, "Every time I open up my Ring app, every time I open up and I get that notification, there's motion at the door. And I push that button and the app opens up, there's goodness and mercy standing at the door. Every day they're following after me. I came today to let somebody know the King of Kings is standing at the door and he's knocking. The King of Kings is in this house today. Yes, there is sin that is crouching at your door, but there's mercy that is standing at the door. Amen. There is an adversary that is standing at the door, but there is also an advocate that is standing at the door and he is knocking. I wonder if we could stand together all around this room. Oh, preacher, that's a good sermon for all the good, righteous people in the building. I'm sure God wants to come in and suck with them. For all your preacher friends, I'm sure God wants to come in and fellowship with them. But you don't know what I've done. You don't know what's going on in my world. You don't know the chaos that's going on because of choices I made, decisions I made. You don't understand where I'm at. That doesn't apply to me. But Jesus expressly said, "If any man, if any man, I don't know about you today, but I'm thankful that the mercy of God is not exclusive, but it's inclusive. It's for everybody." Come on. I've I' I've been the one today that would look and say, "I don't deserve his mercy, but thank God he showed up for me in that hour and there was mercy extended." But here's what he will not do. He will knock knock knock down your door. He won't. He He's like those bears. He ain't going to push your door down. He's not even going to fidget with the handle. He's just going to knock. It's got to be you on the other side. It's all right, Lord. Tired of running. Tired of being distant from you. Tired of being complacent. I'm tired of being in this lukewarm state in my walk with you. I'm going to open the door today and I'm going to let you in. Can we raise our hands together all around this room? I felt in my spirit this morning in prayer that there is a Holy Ghost, there's a heavenly notification on the app of this church today and God is saying there's motion at your door. Somebody in this building today, you're going to make a decision which who are you going to let in? Are you going to let sin that lith at the door? Are you going to let that in? Are you going to let it begin to wreak havoc in your home? Are you going to begin to let it wreak havoc in your family, in your marriage, in your children? Or are you going to let the mercy of God in today? Uh are you going to let the grace of God in today? Are you going to let the blood of Jesus Christ began to work in your home and your family? Listen, God can restore. I've watched God do it time and time again. Families that were on the rink of ruin, and God stepped in and put back together what was broken. Wonder if there's anybody that would step to this altar right now and say, "You know what? I I feel that today that motion. I I There's motion at my It may not be everybody today, but there's motion at my door. Jesus is knocking. Come on. Jesus is knocking. Come on. I say to somebody in this building, if you feel like you're not worthy, I promise you, you're not alone. I promise you, you're not the only one. If we began to open up and be really transparent, most of us in this building have something in our lives that we would look at and say, "I'm not worthy, but I'm so thankful, Jesus." Come on. Right now, I I can almost hear the knock on the door. I I could open up the app right now and see those blood. Amen. Those nail scarred hands and that blood streak as the Savior is standing there saying, "Come on, let me in. Let me in. Come on, let me in. Parents, let me in. Mom and dad, let me in. I I can fix I can fix it. I can heal. That marriage that you feel like you're on the brink of ruin, he's saying, "Let me in." Come on. Don't give up. Don't walk away. Let me in. I've come today with healing. I've come today with deliverance. I've come today with hope. That's it. Let's lift our hands and begin to pray unto him.
