Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The Eternal Landmark

  • Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set: the word rendered ancient means eternal — a landmark with a past and a future, not glory days only.
  • Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark, and all the people shall say, Amen: the curse stands in Deuteronomy beside the grossest sins, and neither God nor Moses was playing around.
  • A man cannot truly move these landmarks; the best he can do is remove himself from them, and stop trying to pull others off the rock.

Scriptures: Proverbs 22:28; Deuteronomy 27:17

The Father's Discipline and the Mother's Teaching

  • Hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: the instruction is the father's discipline, and the law is the mother's teaching, and a child needs both.
  • The father is our heavenly Father and the mother is the church of the living God; no one is born again of water and of the Spirit who embraces the father and shuns the mother.

Scriptures: Proverbs 1:8-9

Ancient Empires, Eternal Truth

  • Socrates would find Delphi a ruin and Caesar would find his empire gone: the landmarks men build for their own glory end as places for tourists and archaeologists.
  • Peter, shown his statue at the Vatican, would demand obedience to what he preached on the birthday of the church: repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  • Paul would answer every new gospel the same way — though an angel preach any other gospel, let him be accursed — for Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Scriptures: Acts 2:38; Galatians (book-only, as spoken); Galatians 4:26

The One-God Landmark

  • Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord — the confession is to be quoted every day and set on the doorposts and on the gates, so the enemy meets it before he ever reaches the house.
  • The oneness of God is the greatest point of holiness: men who make their gods must carry them, but our God made us, and so he carries us.

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4-5

Sermon and Song Alike

  • Moses closed his life with a song, and the sermon marks that in the Hebrew the word for preaching and the word for song sound the same: our sermon and our song must never stray from each other.
  • The appeal is to build on the landmark tonight: he is still pouring out his Spirit, and the waters of baptism are stirred for whoever will come and attach himself to the eternal landmark.

if you love jesus shout praise the lord it's a great blessing to be back in maryville i so appreciate this assembly and the wonderful leadership that god has given to you all do you love your pastor and the leadership of this assembly wow wonderful i want to also say uh just on a personal note however i know i'm not alone in this thank you for sharing the leadership your pastor and family with the assemblies of the lord jesus christ not just in this nation but around the world and i promise you the result of sharing your leadership with the world is going to bring blessings right here to this local assembly i believe that with all of my heart i am so thankful that my family is with me my beautiful wife and five beautiful children and the girls thankfully look like their mother because i don't think i'd be a very pretty girl but i'm so glad that they are with me today my wife who has traveled the world with me who loves god loves this truth i'm so grateful that she's here she is every woman in the world to me and i'm so thankful and she also has poor eyesight when you see her and you see me you'll understand it's a true beauty and the beast story uh but i'm so grateful that they are here with me this is actually their first time being in maryville now they can go to heaven praise the lord amen i want to say personally as well to my friend brother jason weir my brother you and your wife are doing a wonderful job raising your family in this apostolic truth since i got in church he was raised in it i wasn't if you remember the last time when i was here i shared a little bit of my story you know brother weir and i uh nearly got arrested uh when we were teenagers and i'll let him he does a better job telling that story but that is a true story and we'll save that i don't want to i don't want to lose you before i read my text tonight so if you're curious about that ask brother weir proverbs chapter 22 and verse number 28 what a fantastic job our bishop did preaching on thursday night to our organization i will say this i turned to one of our other pastors in the assemblies and i said i have a feeling that he didn't get done brother nolan told me over lunch today he didn't so i would like to say publicly a part two needs to come in your national address webcast so that you can finish your notes on thursday night's sermon no pressure yes i i mean to put pressure on you no i'm teasing proverbs chapter 22 verse 28 if you're there say amen we're going to read one verse together tonight remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set tonight i want to minister on just this very simple thought eternal landmarks eternal landmarks that'll make a bit more sense to you in just a moment can we pray together father we love you we thank you for your word lord your word is truth it is power it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path and tonight i'm asking lord that you would anoint my lips to speak and anoint our ears to hear oh god give us ears to hear what the spirit would say to the church we give you thanks and we give you praise for all of these things and everyone said in jesus name amen before you're seated turn to your neighbor tell them that they look real good amen how come you couldn't say that without giggling landmarks are important the contemporary times of the first testament we find that god almighty instituted a very important law against the removal of a neighbor's landmark deuteronomy chapter 27 in verse 17 declares to earth to us cursed be he that removeth his neighbor's landmark and all the people shall say amen i love it whenever the scripture asks for a witness but is it not interesting that in this particular portion of scripture it's actually asking us to say amen to a curse cursed be he that removeth his neighbor's landmark and all the people shall say amen we live in a day where there are far too many people that are choosing this curse they are trying to remove landmarks that you and i have chosen to abide in it is not enough that they have forsaken the landmarks of truth but they want company to go with them i want to say to you today precious saints of god if one makes the choice to move their landmark that is their unfortunate folly deuteronomy 27 speaks of curses like adultery incest bestiality and all kinds of of gross and unnatural sins and in the same list of sins it talks about removing your neighbor's landmark yet in all of the list of preeminent ways of introducing a curse into one's life we see these words cursed be he who removeth his neighbor's landmark neither god nor moses was playing around when it comes to these commandments so tonight i want to help us understand something about the original text of proverbs chapter 22 and verse 28 we're gonna get just a small hebrew lesson if that's okay so that means before you leave everyone's going to speak in an unknown tongue you can get on and tweet about it come on somebody the verse says in the hebrew the original text of the king jesus version some of you all i just did a flyby right there the word ancient landmark is actually the word kavulolam now kavulolam the word olam which is translated in our bibles as ancient that's an okay translation somehow it works but actually the word olam does not only mean ancient as in old but it means eternal so this is the difference between ancient and eternal and again ancient i think gets the point across but the word eternal is a bit different why because the scripture as we read the word ancient that could indicate to you and i that what we're talking about is a landmark that had a past but might not have a future i just felt the glory bumps they're not goose bumps they're glory bumps hello it doesn't just mean something that had glory days in the past no the word olam is translated as something that has been established in the past but something that also has a bright future that's what the word eternal means so i want to preach to somebody tonight and tell you that the truths that you and i hold in our hearts tonight they're not just something that had glory days in the past what you and i believe what we preach what we love what we walk in today is something that has a future also it's going to endure to the future the great scholar the vilna gown said of proverbs 22 and 28 that the scripture is eternal and a new generation listen carefully to what this great scholar said a new generation does not have the permission to dispute the relevance of the scripture we live tonight church family in prophetic times and we can only observe tonight that the word of god is indeed the most relevant document in existence this written word of god holds in its bosom recorded history foreseen future but more than that this word of god has the power to change your present that's what makes it so powerful that's what makes it eternal and there is no other book no other philosophy no other faith system in this world that can make such a boast that's the reason why that we stand upon the word of god which is forever settled in heaven the eternal truths of scripture are certainly forever settled they're forever settled in heaven but if i could also add they are tremendously hated in hell the landmark passages of the bible are not to be moved they are eternal one labors in vain to even attempt to move the landmarks of the truths of god's word in fact even the vain attempt only proves to you and i the true power and eternal strength that the word of god bears if i could also say this in fact you really can't move these landmarks you can only remove yourself from them you think you can move this rock i would say no the best you can do with this rock is build your house upon it and number two if i could add this stop trying to get other people to move off of this rock this is the eternal landmark i'm going to build my house upon it you can choose this day who you want to serve but as for me and as for my house we're going to serve the lord i want to add this in hopes to encourage this assembly tonight proverbs 22 is intimately connected to proverbs chapter 1. proverbs 1 verse 8 and 9 declares my son hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother for they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head and chains about thy neck many folks uh read over this verse i think too quickly because proverbs is not the easiest book in the world to read because it kind of jumps from topic to topic and so you got to have some wisdom uh whenever you before you even start reading it it's very difficult sometimes to understand so when we're reading this particular verse and the bible tells us that we should hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother there is a message that is in that for us the word here instruction can also be translated as discipline it is the hebrew word mussar and musar is an important word for us and the word law here is the word torah which also means teaching in hebrew now this verse proves that there is a clear distinction between the two there is the teachings of the father the disciplines rather of the father and then the teachings of the mother so yes you have to have discipline of the father but you've got to have the teachings of the mother so i want to say this when we're talking about the father and the mother we have to understand who it is that we're talking about we're talking about our father meaning our heavenly father but when we're talking about our mother we are talking about the church of the living god there are too many people today that are trying to live with faith in the father but not attaching themselves to the mother but i want to tell you just like you cannot be born with naturally without a father and a mother you cannot be born again as well spiritually without a father and without a mother you've got to make sure that you are a disciple you've got the discipline of our father in heaven but you've got to attach yourself to the bride of christ to the mother and be born again of water and of spirit some have espoused the idea that well i read my bible now maybe you all don't have this here but in indiana there are people that say i read my bible i do my own praying i stay at home and i don't have a church and i don't i don't do anything like this and i send money into this every once awhile and those are all good things not here to bash anyone's experience but what i am here to do is encourage you that there's much much more that you need to attach yourself to i have my own ways i read the bible i understand the bible well that mindset might be problematic for you and potentially damnable for your soul one is playing with their eternity when they want to embrace the father but shun the mother i want to tell you today there are far too many people that walk away from the mother and still claim to have a relationship with the father but let me tell you today in this house the father and the mother all live under one roof you cannot walk away from one and still say that you're connected to the other this father and mother is married we're married we're together and i believe as the church of the living god we need to understand who we are supposed to be today church family we are a chosen generation a royal priesthood that's who god has called us to be but you're not going to get there until you attach yourself to the disciplines of the father and the teachings of the mother man has erected many landmarks to serve as a bulwark of their various faith systems and philosophies however so many have been reduced to dust and simple archaeological sites i want to ask you to go on a journey with me for a few minutes tonight if that's okay we're going to take a journey together and this this might be scary um for two reasons one you're going to get a little bit of a glimpse into the imagination of jeremy lange my wife just whispered something to sister carpenter i might need to stay in somebody's guest room tonight but the other thing you need to be worried about is the cafe i had a triple shot espresso before service tonight oh i shouldn't have told on myself i got a picture of a beautiful car that i want to uh put up on the screen tonight um i saw this parked outside in the parking lot it was it was in the guest parking area i don't know i don't know whose this is i wish tonight i could uh and for those of you that laughed you just told on yourself for those of you that are shaking your head you don't have any idea what this is god bless you you need to lay hands on us and pray tonight i wish that tonight i could contract the services of brother marty mcfly and dr emmett brown you laughed you told on yourself again apparently you ain't scared hashtag ain't scared i'd love to contract their services and hop in this delorean that's blinged out souped up with a flux capacitor hello could you imagine if we had this at our disposal tonight being able to go back to ancient greece and we could pick up socrates and bring socrates to present day and take him to greece take him to delphi where the temple of apollo is let's put the picture of the temple of apollo up real quick i can imagine that when we would get socrates to this place that in his day was a landmark the question that he would ask is where are all the worshipers where are all the people where have they gone now it's just an archaeological site i'm sorry socrates but the glory of the greek empire has been reduced to a place to where now unfortunately your country's much smaller and they're having trouble paying their bills socrates would probably be shocked to know that a place where apollo was worshiped the chief place where the god lowercase g apollo was worshiped is now just a site for archaeologists and tourists to visit and to see what greece used to look like what if socrates asked to go to the acropolis we would have to tell him ah yes the acropolis is also in ruins and if you want to go there you're going to need a tour guide you're going to need a fanny pack can you imagine socrates with a fanny pack on because it's a tourist area and you might get your pocket picked i can imagine socrates in his mind saying what has happened to our landmarks you see when they built these places under the glory of their earthly kingdom they thought that they would be eternal but it turns out they're only ancient they had their day they had their glory but today it's just something that you can go and take a selfie with today it's just rubble today it's just something to be studied about the past there's no future here what happened to the empire it's gone it's finished it's over no more empire now let's let's use another example let's imagine that we could go back and fetch julius caesar take him on a drive up to 88 miles per hour hello take him to present-day rome can you imagine imagine caesar asking the question how are the caesars doing our answer would have to be well you go to america there's little caesars has pretty decent pizza and if you're not on that much of a budget we can take you to noble romans what about the empire what empire what are you talking about can you imagine what it would look like to them if we took them to their landmark sites and showed them what they look like today you imagine julius caesar probably asking hey what about whatever happened to brutus can you imagine oh yes brutus well brutus uh well here's the story two years after he shanked you he fell on his own sword and committed suicide you can imagine julius caesar probably saying does him right serves him right it's interesting julius caesar asked the question what about the coliseum what about the senate what about all of our gods julius caesar's tour guide would be forced to break the news to him that the coliseum is now also a ruin there are no spectacles there are no gladiators the senate steps they are gone and the roman gods are gone and no longer actively worshipped then i just in my mind i'm thinking julius caesar would certainly ask the next question well if we're no longer worshiping these gods i mean i guess in a way you know some of us have nike on our feet some of us drive mercuries pluto is still there but he's a cartoon dog come on somebody i mean that's the way that we're doing it these days but can you imagine what would happen when julius caesar asked well then what do the romans worship i'm just about ready to preach well the tour guide would then be forced to say mr caesar they named a salad after you by the way but let me just tell you today there's something here in rome called the vatican but that is something that you probably won't understand now let's imagine brother nolan hops in that delorean and we say hey brother nolan go pick up the apostle peter we want to take him to rome for a little bit let's take the apostle peter to rome can you imagine walking him up to saint peter's square in rome today hiring a tour guide being told by his tour guide you're really him you're really peter you're really simon barjona you're really caiphas wow you're here this square was named after you can you imagine the look on peter's face and what in the world are you talking about what an interesting thing you must have been thinking after two thousand years they still remember here in rome who i am there must have been a great revival here can you imagine peter thinking they know who i am so certainly they must know what i preached let me say before i go any further i hate no one but the scripture does tell us to hate every evil way can you imagine peter being told by that tour guide hey i've got some news for you did you know that you are our first pope el papa the vicar of christ the pontiff the holy father all with the pointy cap can you imagine peter saying wait what what what just what are you talking about oh yes come i want to show you we've even got a we've even got a statue of you oh boy there it is can you imagine peter walking up to this statue this statue at the vatican that pilgrims for hundreds of years have visited look at this peter there you are they kiss the toe the big toe of the right foot and it's large enough here on the screen that you can see can you believe that they have kissed his toe off i have a feeling peter wouldn't like that one too much kissed his toe can you imagine what peter seeing that today first of all what he would say to the present pope well francis i i i'm glad that you all remember me i i and but what's with all the idolatry what's with all the statues what's with all of this stuff why and why a statue of me and oy vey what did you do to my toe come on somebody peter would likely in a display of holy ghost hubris stand up and say sir you remember who i am but obviously you have no obedience at all to what i preached if i am your first pope then adhere to what i preached on the birthday of the church in jerusalem then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost boy if that statue could come alive he'd be limping around but he'd tell every one of them to be baptized in jesus name now imagine paul being whisked away to north america with the help of some plutonium and a flux capacitor what if we took him to salt lake city heard somebody say oh no i don't know i don't know if i need to stop right there and give the altar call or if i need to go on he would have no idea who joseph smith was he'd have no idea who brigham young was or any of the so-called prophets can you imagine somebody handing him what they call another testament of jesus christ or the book of mormon whatever can you imagine somebody handing that to paul and saying here you go paul here's some here's some bathroom reading for you yes i said it paul would probably say hey i like reading he asked timothy for the books and the parchments that proof proof enough to me and you that he's a man who was the bookish type only to discover the history of the book ah an angel came to a man in the 1800s declaring that there were golden tablets with a new revelation from god you can imagine paul's response brother naomi is going to be oops looks like somebody's getting cursed because it was paul himself who wrote but though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you let him be accursed i don't care what moroni says to you i don't care how gold and shiny the tablets are i believe that in the word of god right here we have the whole counsel of god and we need to cling to that landmark for it is eternal paul would likely reply so let me get this straight i wrote here 66 of the new testament for you declaring unto you the whole council of god and some schlemiel there's your yiddish word for the night started a new religion based on no foundation let me tell you what's wrong with the book of mormon it has no foundation dear church family the bible declares to you and i let everything be done decently and in order and that's not just so that you and i will behave and not drink a triple shot espresso before preaching hello but god also follows that instruction think about the continuity we know according to the scripture two very important dates in our history first of all we know the moment that the nation of israel was born both jews as well as the church today all agree the nation of israel was born on the day that the law was received from god through moses as well every scholar agrees that the church was born on the day of pentecost well guess what the day of pentecost is actually commemorating the day of pentecost which happened in 33 a.d has a precedent the reason why pentecost is there is to celebrate god's gift of his word it's the day that the jews celebrated the gift of the torah the gift of the ten commandments so on the very same day god would allow now the church to be born so israel was born on pentecost the original one when the when the law came down from god by the finger of god upon mount sinai now let me talk about another mountain mount zion where the upper room is what was there at sinai the bible says that fire rested upon the mountain and there were voices that were heard at mount zion tongues like as if oh my god i'm about to shout tongues like as a fire rested upon the mountain and voices were heard what voices they heard them speak with tongue this is the problem with the golden tablets that was supposedly given from moroni full of baloney god didn't choose gold to send forth his word he's always chosen rock at mount sinai what was the element that was chosen to carry the word of god as moses came down off of mount sinai it was rock that's why the way it was when israel was born on the day of oh my god on the day of pentecost there were all of the apostles that stood up but only one of them spoke why was he the only one that spoke because his name was peter which means rock you can keep your gold i'm attached to the landmark and it's a landmark that is a firm foundation it's not a foundation of cold let the world have their gold i'm building my house upon the rock hallelujah any faith system that would come along and try to talk you out of this rock try to talk you out of this eternal landmark let me tell you today you need to make sure every day of your life that you remember not only who god is but you've got to remember who you are and as for me i've always wanted to sing in maryville i'm a one god apostolic tongue talk and holy roll and born again come on somebody i'm gonna join the choir i told brother weir when the choir went up there i said let's me and you step up in the choir and let's go stand next to brother white nobody would stop us brother white would probably encourage us but we didn't do it he talked me out of it i was ready these landmarks are eternal it's not just for yesterday this thing this thing never fizzled out this thing existed in every century can you imagine what paul would say ah the successor of mr smith mr young had 55 wives that's a lot of shoes come on somebody and all the husbands said amen and for those of you that didn't say amen you're weak oh we need to anoint you either that or you're wise he also established salt lake city as the holy city well i can imagine that paul would likely say your spiritual mind and hearts are so far from jerusalem that you have no idea that the holy city was already firmly established it is a city whose builder and maker is god paul said in galatians 4 and 26 but jerusalem which is above is free which is the mother of us all so if you're born again quote unquote by some doctrine from some city out west or some city in germany or some city in england or some city in italy i'm telling you today you've not been born of the right mother if you want the right mother you've got to attach yourself to what happened in jerusalem on the day of pentecost jesus was very clear and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached among all nations in my name beginning at jerusalem it is the mother of us all i think it's an interesting thing because paul if we brought him over from salt lake to maryville tonight what would he find first of all he would probably think that the holy temple that the third temple has been rebuilt in maryville that's probably what he would think first but could you imagine him walking down that center aisle tonight as we're singing about our great god and savior the feelings that he would feel would be the same feelings that he heard when it was midnight and they began to sing praises the same feelings would come over him again he'd say i think somebody's prison foundations are about to shake i think somebody's prison doors are about to open i feel something moving in this place but not just what he would feel what he would hear standing up behind the pulpit we wouldn't stand up here and say things like well just find your own way work out your own salvation and and whatever you think is right you know we're all just trying to chase after god and we're all spokes trying to point to the to the center of the wheel that's hogwash that's false doctrine that's damnable doctrine he wouldn't like motivational speaking that he would find in many places he wouldn't like a lot of the poor teaching that goes on in a lot of places but i would say that if he walked into this assembly tonight and nudged some of us asking us what must i do to be saved he would be revived in his spirit to know that we're still believing and preaching what was preached in the book of acts i can imagine that paul would be comforted to know that we still believe and that we still teach hear o israel the lord our god is one lord shema is and thou shalt love the lord thy god with all thy heart with all thy soul and with all thy might church family we were commanded to love god and i believe if paul came into this place tonight he would say my heart feels connected to what they're about my heart feels connected to their worship my heart feels connected to their relationship with the almighty he would know that we believe in the truth of the oneness of god but that is well we believe and we preach that there is only one baptism and that is baptism by immersion in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and i can imagine as well he would be enthusiastic to know that maybe some words that he penned was wrong he would be amazed to find out that in his day he probably did speak in tongues more than ye all but he never come down to eastern tennessee some of you all might walk up to him and say oh brother i gotta challenge you right here on this one i i don't know i think you and i need to have a prayer-a-thon or something like that we i think it's an interesting thing as well paul did a lot of ministry speaking about what our general superintendent spoke about you better thank god every day that you have a pastor that believes in the message of holiness i know he preached it here already and then he come to gmc and preached it again tethered to tradition there is a hebrew tradition that i think applies here and we call it putting offense around the mitzvot it means building a barrier around every commandment why because you don't want anything to come close to touching that commandment in fact we find it in deuteronomy 6 a verse that we all love so very well we spoke about it today it's an interesting thing that while in the scripture we see all the script all the verses in deuteronomy 6 about about there's one god and we should love him we should teach about this one god it also says something very interesting put it upon your doorpost and upon your gates now most people would say i just put it on the gates i don't want it on my house mark the oneness of god that's what a mezuzah is it's a it's a little box that's placed upon the door post with a scroll inside of it with deuteronomy 6 written in hebrew on it mezuzah is an important thing to hebrew tradition every home should have them in fact every room except the bathroom is supposed to have one on it but the bible says don't just put it on your house put it on your gate why does it say to put this also on your gate because you don't want your enemies to even come nigh thy dwelling before they ever get close to your front door when they get to your gate let the enemy know this is a one god home this is a one god community this is a one god city there's power to doing that in fact the oneness of god is so powerful we need to quote deuteronomy 6 and 4 every day do it in english do it in hebrew if you want me to teach you how to do it in hebrew i'll do it tonight but i want to tell you there's something powerful about making sure that the word of god especially to do with the oneness of god is prayed and read and quoted and believed in your home and the reason is because it's very simple the bible says thou believest in one god thou doest the devils also believe and fear is a sign of the end times the bible says that men's hearts should fail them for fear in these last days i'm tired of god's people walking around with fear and anxiety all the time you want to know how to come into his camp for a little while every time you start to feel some fear start quoting hear o israel the lord our god is one lord devil i'm gonna make you tremble for a little while i'm tired of seeing god's people tremble with fear all the time it's time to make the devils in hell tremble we're believers in the oneness of god the power of his one name something begins to happen in fact the greatest point of holiness in hebrew tradition is the oneness of god because it separated the jews and the hebrews from everyone else everyone who worshipped gods of their own men manufactured things that they had made and created by their own hands i used to visit some buddhist monks back in the day when i evangelized they asked me the question they said what's what's the difference between your religion and our religion i said ah your idols where did they come from they said some of them we shipped over here from india some from china some from japan some from korea some from thailand some from burma i said oh great they look very expensive how did you get them here he said some of them we put in a box and we shipped to them some of them we brought with us when we flew i said you put god in a box i wasn't trying to be smart or maybe a little bit cheeky but i you know i wanted them to think because their minds didn't think that way i said ah this is interesting you put god in a box i said the biggest difference between your religion and my religion is that you made your gods with your hands so you have to carry your gods my god made me so he's going to carry me that's the biggest difference the biggest difference tonight in this place if you feel worthless if you feel like you don't count if you feel i can also ran every day of your life let me tell you your life is important to the kingdom of god you mean something you were made by god and he has a purpose for your life holiness separation something begins to happen i was praying for a few moments before we started this service tonight my wife knows she's heard me say this before and i don't mean to sound spooky on anyone tonight but i feel the holiness of god in this room not talking about my holiness or your holiness minds as filthy rags the best i can do is be a reflection of his and it's the way i act it's the way i look it's the way i talk it's the way i think that's the reflection of his holiness but there is something in the scripture a very clear precedent that where the holiness of god is there is a heavenly host that is also present the angels of god dwell in the places of his holiness in fact it is their song read it in the scripture holy holy holy so for a moment when you and i allow our song and our preaching to be holy holy holy we have joined together with a heavenly qua oh my god i feel the holy ghost in this place right now we have joined and attached ourselves together with the angels in heaven and i believe that there are angels ministering to someone in this room right now not because i'm here not because you're here but because the holiness of god is in this room lastly i want to tell you this and i want this to be understood very very clearly the word well let me say this first moses is the end of moses's life we read in the book of the book of deuteronomy that we get a song from moses and how does he start that song he starts it by saying that the doctrine is going to rain down moses understood hebrew he knows doctrine doctrine comes through teaching it comes through preaching but here's an interesting point the word in hebrew for preaching or for like sermon is the word sheer the word for song in hebrew is sheer they are phonetically identical why because our song should never stray from our sermon and our sermon should never stray from our song there are a lot of people in this world today dear brothers and sisters that are singing the songs of zion but preaching the message of rome i can't hide behind this pulpit so i've just got to stand up here and act like i ain't scared of you our sermon and our song should sound alike so at the end of moses's life he said ah yeah this sermon it's going to rain down i want to sing about it in fact i want to talk about this doctrine that's going to rain down church family i believe that it's happening in these last days the scripture is very clear with many confirmations that in the last days saith god i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh you can't get this outpouring if you remove yourself from the eternal landmark you've got to stay built upon the foundation of the true landmark stand with me tonight stand with me all over this place i preached too long i just looked at the clock i'm gonna blame it on the espresso pastor will have me back you all stop me before i go back there i feel a host from heaven in this room tonight and i want to speak directly to someone who's contemplating i know we've already got three to baptize tonight but i want to speak to someone else while the baptism waters are being stirred tonight why not go ahead and attach yourself to this eternal landmark why not begin tonight and build your house upon this eternal landmark here's your chance here's your opportunity i want to also say he's still pouring out the holy ghost if you have not yet received the gift of the holy ghost i'd like to just say it tonight is your night you can receive the holy ghost in this place tonight why because we are built upon the eternal landmark and god is still pouring it out in this place can we lift our hands to the lord right now sister erickson whatever's on your heart you know how to do it i want us just to lift our hands for a moment we're going to open up this altar but i believe where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty there is freedom we've sang about it we've preached about it already today so tonight whatever it is that you have need of this is a place that is built upon that eternal foundation that eternal landmark here is an opportunity for you i believe that we can tonight operate in the gifts of the spirit there can be healings in this house tonight there can be outpourings of the holy ghost somebody can receive the holy ghost tonight for the first time i believe that with all of my heart so tonight i want to encourage you if you need something from god whether it be healing whether it be deliverance whether it whether you need salvation you need to repent you need the holy ghost i want you to come tonight in jesus name would you come dear brother would you come to your sister tonight whatever you have need of here's your chance here's your opportunity come and receive a blessing from god maybe some of you tonight you need peace in your mind maybe you're tired of dealing with fear tired of trembling tired of dealing with devils tired of dealing with doctrines of devils tonight i want you to come and pray deuteronomy 6 and 4. remind the devil who you are that you're a believer in the one god of abraham isaac and jacob that's it that's it go ahead come in faith believing that's it oh yes go ahead in the name of jesus if you need the holy ghost here's your chance tonight to receive the baptism of the holy ghost if you need healing tonight here's your chance now i want to ask those of you that are operating in the gift of faith right now would you reach over and lay your hands upon somebody and pray for them in the name of jesus go ahead and pray the prayer of faith pray pray the prayer of faith tonight that's it in the name of jesus go ahead go ahead god is in this house his ministering angels are in this place tonight we've already been singing it we've already been preaching it holy holy holy there is a host from heaven in this house tonight go ahead go ahead and reach out right now go ahead in the name of jesus that's it dear brother go ahead that's it dear sister go ahead in the name of jesus let god be god in your life right now let god be god in your life tonight in the name of jesus in the name of jesus brethren
