This Egotistical, Self-Centered & Pompous God That We Serve | Rev. Jimmy Toney

I believe it was on February the 17th 2013 was my first introduction to First Apostolic Church of marille in the old building and uh you know y'all were packed in there like sardines unlike anything I've ever seen in my life all of y'all could have went to jail for that I'm sure there's people everywhere I've never really talked to brother Carpenter and I was sitting on the platform with with them and I leaned over and I said hey I said every once in a while the Lord uses me in the gifts of the Spirit and he had that look like oh boy what in the world and I said I feel like the Lord just spoke to me and uh I think y'all probably going to need a bigger building and so here we are now little 10 years plus later and BR car part N I think the Lord just spoke to me look at this place tonight it's incredible what an honor to be here I this has got to be one of the the biggest highlights of my Ministry to come on this very special weekend and uh what a what a great example a great voice both brother and sister Carpenter they came into our life at such a pivotal time and just loved my entire family and as has been a great example and a great Pastor to my family and I I thank them so very much and I hate that my wife can't be here if you'll pray for her she has been uh she's been going through some some health issues and um uh she wasn't really scared to get on that little plane today she wasn't but when I left the house she had the life insurance policy out and she was just salivating a little bit she sounded upset when I let her know we got out here but uh but if you'll pray for her she really is she's been in a lot of pain and we're asking the Lord to to help her what a history here what a Heritage what a hall of Faith Church has been built in maraville Tennessee this this church has reached the world and we thank God for you and and I want to say thank God to the Saints for getting behind a family and say let's see what we can do for the kingdom of God Amen and brother Osborne we just we love you you're the you're the prince of preachers you're just as good as they come and wonder how much money has been given to missions out of this church how many souls are in the kingdom of God around the world because of the sacrificial giving that that would be there I don't even know that we could calculate that but I thank God this church has been good to us it's been good to missionaries Church planners and we we just thank you for that amen Isaiah chapter 48 let's go to the word of the Lord and then I'm going to read out of Ezekiel chapter 36 Isaiah chapter 48 and of course you know let me just say one more thing the whole family I mean you know all churches are not created equal all families are not created equal there's just something special about this crew and uh I'm going to tell you something if you don't like the Carpenters I'm just going to go out on limb and say something's wrong with you you you the issue so let's start with you and then come back and let's see how we feel about that and uh they don't need anybody to defend them but if I ever run across anybody that I need to clear my throat a little bit and let them know I don't I don't have a problem doing that in Jesus name Isaiah chapter 48 I do want to preach a little bit tonight is that all right still daylight outside she can't see fireworks in the daytime so we got we got some stuff we got to get done verse 9 Isaiah 48 I've been a little sick sick my voice is a little raspy I realize that I apologize for that had covid for 3 weeks no I'm I'm I have I have just picked up a little cold the last couple of days but Isaiah 48:9 for my name's sake will I defer mine anger and for my praise will I refrain for thee that I cut thee not off behold I have refined thee but not with silver and I have chosen thee in the furnace of Affliction for my own sake even for my own sake will I do it for how should my name be polluted and I will not give my glory to another Ezekiel 36:22 says therefore say unto the house of Israel thus sayith the Lord God I do not this for your sake oh House of Israel but I do this for my holy name's sake which coincidentally you have profaned among the Heathen but I will in the midst of your profaning I will sanctify my great name which was profaned among the Heathen which you have done and the Heathen shall know that I am the Lord when I shall be Sanctified in you before their eyes there's just something about letting the Lord make us holy that it puts him on display even to the heathens that they have to say there's something going on there now I'm going to announce my title and you're going to judge me and you're going to check out and I'm asking you not to do that just stick around for a moment but I want to preach on this thought this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve if you going to help me preach shout amen amen God bless you you may be seated the Bible teaches us three very important influential and inspiring words three simple words that we must comprehend and that we must come to Serious grips with these three words make it possible for God's holiness to become attainable accessible and even approachable here are those three words God is love everything hangs and hinges on this revelation God is love it was ingrained in us from Sunday school Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so love is how we Define God it's how we describe God and love is how we should declare God to a lost and Dying World I'm happy tonight to report to you that God loves us and I am thankful for that simple yet powerful Revelation and that's why the Bible says and we're quick to quote it and we should be for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and because of that love that Godly holy perfect unadulterated love we can testify that while we were yet sinners that that love prompted God to die for us God is love no wonder the Lord said through the prophet in Jeremiah chter 31 and verse3 yay I have loved thee with an everlasting love so tonight regardless of your situation or circumstance regardless of your dis dysfunction or dilemma regardless of your worries or even your wounds God loves you I want someone to get that Revelation tonight you may have came to church feeling unworthy but God loves you you may have come here tonight and you feel imperfect but God loves you some of you may have stumbled your way into the house of God tonight but God loves you the Bible says in Malachi 1 and verse 2 I have loved you say sayth the Lord and then Jesus God manifested In the Flesh appears in the New Testament and in John chapter 13:34 he says a new commandment I give unto you that you love one another as I have loved you you also love one another Paul writing to the Church of galatia said in Galatians Chapter 2 and verse number 20 I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God here it is who loved me and gave himself for me Paul wrote to the Church of Ephesus and said walk in love as Christ hath loved us and hath given himself for us anybody thankful for the love of God the Apostle John said it like this in 1 John 4 and verse 10 herein is love not that we loved God but that he loved us and send his son to be the propitiation for our sins beloved if God so loved us we ought also to love one another and then it summed up beautifully in just eight words in 1 John 4 and: 19 we love him because he first loved us so tonight I submit to this great church the love of God is stronger than any force in the world the love of God is a is greater than anything else that you could ever experience and the love of God is without doubt the greatest expression of God's holiness to the world he Lov loved us the writer said everything else may come and everything else may go everything else may fall prophecies May Fail and tongues May Fail and I may fall and you may fall the organization May Fail in some areas but love scripture says Love Never Fails you just can't lose with love and the reason why there's a church here is because somebody Started Loving people and loving people and loving people people that were unlovable just like God loved us we began to love other people and God that begins to attract things that begins to turn the motor on some things that begins to get God moving in our situation and let me just wait out there and say this God does not love us because we're Pentecostal he loves us because we're we're people he just loves people and and we're people and so God loves us now that love is what transformed us into Pentecostal people but when God first displayed his love to us we were not sitting in a beautiful Church we didn't have it all together our family was a wreck but he loved us and if you can't love people who aren't Pentecostal oh I met people that they could love everybody in the church and they was they were grouchy and angry to somebody that didn't look like them that's not the love of God that's not the love of God we don't need Saints like that if if you can't love somebody that's not Pentecostal you'll never watch them transform into who God would I think I remember Jesus saying one time they shall know that you're my disciples because you have love for one another I wonder if I'm preaching to anyone tonight and you're thankful for the love of God had it not been for the love of God we would still be in our sins we would still be on our way to hell we would still be under some generational curse but because he loved us he worked out a plan of Salvation he made a way where there seemed to be no way he's given us the power to become a brand new creature somebody ought to clap their hands and Shout their and lift up their voice and Shout because God loves you he loves you you're here tonight because he loves you he loved you when you was on the bar stool he loved you when you was in the drug housee he loved you when you were committing adultery he loved you when you was a fornicator he loved you when you were in a homosexual life he loved you and that love kept pulling you and that love kept trying to draw you see it's hard for us to comprehend God's love because we measure it to our love and we say things like I love you babe and then we say things like man I love college football then we say I don't say stuff like this but other people do we love that dog and like the same word for all we love our mother-in-law I mean you know it's it's that same word and it's spread out so thin I I'm not talking about some puppy love that you had when you were in junior high school I'm not talking about the kind of love you have for a pet or the kind of love you thought you had for your first spouse that's not the kind of love I'm talking about I'm talking about God's love on Your Darkest Day God still loves you when you're making bad mistakes God still loves you when you're backslid and far from God and when you're in a pig pin God still loves you and when you're doing things you didn't think you would ever do you need to understand right then God still loves you you and that love is what's going to pull you back and the church still loves you now we may not agree with you and God doesn't agree with it but that doesn't mean that we can't still love you and say this is home this is where you need to come get out of that pig pin come on back home there's a church that loves you and when we met this great family they just immediately loved us we're sitting in chewies eating in Knoxville and I saw this Entourage like the royal family walked in you know I told my wife I said hey you know who that is I said that's brother Carpenter I watch him on TV the internet that man preaches the Oneness of God like like nobody I've ever heard babe they got it going now they don't know who we are babe but we look we know who they are and so we're sitting in chewes in Knoxville and then they come over and we talk a little bit and and then like two weeks later some time goes by and they they call and said hey come preach for us I was like what wait what and immediately felt the love and so we showed up and you know we we got two different organizations here you know we got the aljc and the and the upci I I think we need to you leave that one and I'll leave this one and let's start our own yeah let's do it we could call it KC JT we got some that join we can have a small Conference next week if we did that and so someone said hey you you got to get permission to go preach there and I was like well wait a minute I don't understand that and so I made a few phone calls and and everybody was kind enough I could come preach here now here's the reality and I know this being recorded but here's the reality I was coming coming anyhow because because the reality is is that's dumb and we got to fix that that's just ignorant we got to stop that I mean we really do we got to fix that the love of God Is Bigger than that mess the love of God is bigger than my little jealousy or my little Envy or my little strike the love of God Is Bigger than that we look we're racing the rapture we got to we got to stand shoulder to shoulder we got to quit fighting that's not the love of God that's not the love of God is greater than the love of an organization the love of God the love of God looks for brothers and sisters of like Precious faith I know this is going to shock some of you but that's not in my notes I may have to turn in my license now so we may have to really start that organization Paul said it like this I'm persuaded Romans chapter 8 that need neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God I don't want to mess with your theology tonight but you cannot serve God any greater and make him love you anymore and you can't serve him any less and make him love you any less his love is perfect his love is complete his love is whole his love lacks nothing in him there is no variableness neither shadow of turning his love is a holy love and a love you hear that devil you hear that you accuser of the Brethren you hear that you liar you hear that you manipulator you con man God loves us I feel led to tell somebody you've been overwhelmed by the voice and vice of a hellish enemy that regardless of what the devil has told you God still loves you and God still wants to use you and God is going to show up and rescue you out of that situation somebody needs to grab what I'm saying right now God's not finished with you God hasn't given up on you I know we're celebrating 40 years and thank God for it but God's not through with this church yet uh if he carries the next 40 years uh we're going to reach and reach and reach because of the love of God God loves me God loves me God loves me God loves me God loves you God loves you God loves this church and if we're not careful we will handpick verses from the Bible like I just quoted to you and songs like Jesus loves me and we'll start thinking and believing that God does what he does because of us but but you see God has no needs he is he is all sufficient he has no flaws he has no shortcomings God has no mishaps what makes our God great over any other so-called Gods is a simple yet profound fact that all other so-called Gods make man work for them but our God will never be put in the position of an employer who must depend on others to make his business go he is God all by himself he's not an employ lawyer looking for a worker he's a spirit looking for a worshipper now God uses us and I'm than aren't you thankful God's used this family over the last 40 years aren't you thankful God uses us and I'm thankful for that but hear me God does not need me and God doesn't necessarily need you he could just as easily use a rock or a donkey so it does not matter how big our churches get we still need him it matters not how big the annual budget becomes we need him I don't care how many people we have on staff and how many daughter works we may have we will always need him it doesn't matter how talented we are we need him it doesn't matter how good of a job we can do and it doesn't matter what kind of job you have and it doesn't matter what kind of home you live in you still need I thank God for this church I thank God for this place it's a special place to us I thank God for what this church means to the kingdom of God I thank God for the spirit of Excellence that's in this church but more than that I thank God for the holy spirit that is in this church because it is not by might and it is not by power but it is by my spirit sayeth the Lord the Holy Ghost is what built this church and for the next 40 years we need the Holy Ghost to keep building this church we would be foolish to think that we can complete In the Flesh what was started in the spirit and so the longer we live for God we should not become more absolute in our abilities but the longer I live for God the more I become aware of my inabilities and my definite dependence on God when I started my first church 25 years ago I didn't have a clue what I was doing 25 years later I know less today I was a genius back then the longer we live for God we should not become more absolute in our abilities whatever happened to that old song I can't even walk if we start thinking that God needs us then that type of thinking will produce an egotistical self-centeredness and pompous attitude that will give birth in our flesh to self-righteousness I had somebody come in my office one time Church I pastored and said hey you're going to do what we tell you to do because you need us I need you I need you to leave I need you to get out I need you to turn in your keys when you start thinking that this revolves around you or your money or your talent hey God can anoint a donkey to make him sound like a man so I'm not worried about anything God's got a way if we need money there's a fish swimming in a pond somewhere tonight that can give us exact what we need if we get hungry tomorrow God will send a bird to bring us he I'm not worried about any of that kind of stuff cuz when we start thinking that we are needed then it produces this egotistical self-centered in pompous attitude and the last thing we need is more flesh in the church let me say that again the last thing we need is more flesh in the church we don't need any more egos we don't need any more Divas we don't need any more Superstars we need humility we need repentance we need servants we need ministers and so egotistical self-centered pompus the these these characteristics they these selfish inuendos are sinful when you discuss them in the light of a fallen man but when you discuss these same characteristics in the light of a holy God you would be hardpressed to not have to admit that those words genuinely describe the god that we're serving now we filter those words through our flesh and they sound horrible and negative and even a little sacrilegious and some of you are so surprised that lightning hasn't already struck me down but stick with me for a few moments this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve allow me to explain Webster defines the word egotistical as excessive use of the first person singular personal pronoun egotistical excessive use of the first person singular personal pronoun if one of us is stuck on I we would be egotistical in a negative sense but I'm here to tell you that God is stuck on I and is very much positive for him because when Moses asked the Lord who shall I say sent me he used the first person singular personal pronoun when he said I am that I am when Jesus showed up in the New Testament and said he was happy to see Abraham's day and they wanted to know how that was possible Jesus used the first person singular personal pronoun when he said before Abraham was I am as a matter of fact Jesus used the first person singular personal pronoun on three occasions in one verse when he said I am the way I am the truth and I am the light and then he reminded us that the thief cometh not before to steal to kill and to destroy but Jesus said I I I I have come I have come that I might give you life and life more abundantly thus the egotistical part the term self-centered is defined as independent of outside force or influence I can't think of anyone more independent of outside force or influence than God Almighty when God got ready to become Victorious over the void in Genesis chapter 1 and to bring Deliverance to the darkness he counseled with no one he sought no one's permission he didn't run a survey to see what the people thought he didn't put a finger in the air to check the direction of the wind he just walked out on the balcony of heaven and spoke these words let there be light and there was light there was no discussion about it there was no bargaining taking place there was no permission being granted he was in total control all by himself he said there's no God to my right and there's no God to my left you can look to the front you can look to the back I am God and I am God alone as a matter of fact he goes on record in uh the first chapter of John and he says all things were made by him he didn't have a committee he didn't have an Advisory board he didn't have an overseer he didn't have a supervisor he looked within himself and he made everything that he made for his own pleasure now if we did that that's self-c centered and it's negative but when God does it it's holy and it's right and right before he ascended into heaven Jesus wanted to make sure hey I just want to make sure there's no question marks here so he said this oh by the way by the way all power in heaven and in Earth I got that that's given to me thus the self centered part and then that word pompus that's defined as having or exhibiting self-importance you hear this preacher tonight there's no one any more important than the King of Kings and the Lord of lords and the Bible even also calls him God of gods so listen to what I just said King of Kings Lord of lords God of gods in other words collect all the kings together lump all the Lords together gather together all the gods and he's saying I'm the king of all the kings I'm the Lord of all the Lords and I'm the God of all he saying I am more important than all of them combined there isn't anything or anyone any more important than the lordship of Jesus Christ as a matter of fact listen to this verse Hebrews chapter 6 verse 13 for when God made promise to Abraham because he could swear by no greater he looked around he's like I I need something great to to to to swear by he he could swear by nothing greater so what did he do he just swore by himself you know what I call that pompus so when I say this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve I'm not being a smart elic I'm not being arrogant or derogatory and God knows I'm not being sacrilegious actually on the contrary I'm trying to elevate the god of Glory to a position of prominence to a level of lordship to a height of Holiness that he desires to be in our lives and so on this 40th celebration I want us to walk out of this church with the Revelation and understanding there is absolutely nothing or nobody that can compete or compare with our God and God loves himself and His glory more than he loves me and my family God loves himself and his church more than he loves that family and your family and therefore he does what he does not because of you and not because of me he does what he does because of himself and because of his glory his honor and because of his name sake the reason why there is a great church in maraville no offense but it's got nothing to do with these people God said I want a church in maraville I want my name in that City I want my glory to be on display and that that's God did this for him he didn't do this for you and he didn't do this for them and he didn't do this for me God said I'm going to put this on display for my own name's sake and for my glory and if we could have this oh God if we could have this Revelation I promise you it would no longer be about me it no longer be about you it no longer be about who's giving what who's this and and I love this who who's your big tithers well look goofy there are no big tithers if you're a tither you're a tither amen if you make a $100 and you tithe you're a tithe you you given the exact same amount that somebody that makes $1,000 a give when when it's not about us when it's not about our flesh when it's not about our ego and our self-centeredness and our pomp but when we turn around and say there wouldn't it be a church here if it wasn't for God and this is all about God and we're giving all the glory to God and we're giving all the it wouldn't be about some Ministry or some program it would be about the lordship of Jesus Christ if we wouldn't worry about who's going to sing a solo and who's GNA get asked to preach and who's gonna get called and who's G to go to this conference and no no no it's got nothing to do with that it's about Jesus Christ it's about Jesus Christ it's always been about Jesus Christ and if there's ever been a time if there's ever been a time for flesh to die and hide behind the cross CU it's not found with enticing words of men's wisdom it's not found with tech techology and it's not found with a new cart but is with the power and a demonstration of the Holy Ghost so let me just help you tonight this is not about us this is about him this is not about my name or your name or The Carpenter's name this is about jesus' name this is not about my glory or your Fame this is about God's glory and about him making his name name famous in this place so let me remind you God loves this church more than we do and God wants this church to continue to grow more than we do not so our name will be magnified or The Carpenter's name would be magnified or the ajc's name would be magnified or the KC JT's name would be magnified by no no no no no but so that the name of the Lord would be high and lifted in oh I feel like if we could cut away some junk and if we could cut away some flesh and if we could cut away who's going to do this and who's going to do that it doesn't matter it doesn't matter let's just all be on the same team let's just get people to heaven and it doesn't matter how good somebody can preach and how good they can put a it's not about anything that we bring to the table it's all about God and it's all for the glory of God so and so when you have this attitude well I just don't feel like worshiping tonight that's okay because it's not about you yeah but I I I I don't feel like paying my ties that's totally fine I am a okay with that but it's not about you well I don't feel like giving sacrificially that's totally fine there's been times I don't feel like doing it either but it's not about us I don't feel like praying today so what go pray anyhow why because it's not about us why don't feel like going to church today well get up put you some clothes on bring your A little grouchy self up into the house of the Lord and let the Holy Ghost do a work when we have this understanding there will be an Awakening that takes takes place and our worship will shift to the next level and there'll be no envy and strife Among Us and there'll be no wickedness and confusion there'll be no evil work because it's not about me it's not about you it's not about my name it's not about your name it's about God and God Alone Genesis chapter 1 is one of the most God centered chapters in all the Bible God has mentioned by name 32 times in 31 verses this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve and if someone had to ask what what is the end game of God the answer would have to be summed up like this God's end game is to glorify himself and to enjoy his glory forever God God does not do what he does because of us we're a byproduct he does what he does because of his glory and that's why the Bible says he will not give his glory to another he's a jealous God he's jealous because it must be all about him he got mad when Moses was on that mountain getting the law he got mad because they were down in the valley making it about them and not about him and the Bible says 3,000 Souls died that day and then when you get to the New Testament the book of Acts when that same event where God gave Moses tablets of stone in the book of Acts when he started writing on their hearts with his anger and he put their Spirit God said now I'm going to flip the curse I took 3,000 away from you in the Old Testament when you were down there making it about yourself but now that you're up here in one mind and one Accord and it's not about big ey and little you God said now I'm going to add about three hey God's adding days are not over God's multiplication days are not over we just got to get in one mind we got to get in one Accord this is not not about you this is about God and the reason why we need this Revelation that it's all about him and nothing about us is because I think many people are willing to be god- centered as long as they feel like God will return the favor and be man- centered and so I'll do for God if God will do for me and this can become dangerous because we can think that we're centering our lives on God when in reality we're making him an ends to a means and we're we're somehow creating some form of self-help self-improvement or self-esteem for our own flesh but see God's ultimate commitment is to himself and not to us as a matter of fact the Bible says it like this that God will present the church to himself hey God's not worried about your little mansion in heaven that's what's getting some of us through we we we want we want that big house in the sky I don't even want to mess with your theology with all that so I'll leave that for brother Carpenter but God's not even God's not even worried this is all about him it's not about your Mansion it's about you surrendering to him so you can be together with God he will present the church to himself that that's what he was speaking through our prophet in our text in Isaiah chapter 48 this is what we read at the beginning for my name's sake will I defer my anger and for my praise will I refrain for thee that I cut thee not off verse 11 says for my own sake even my own sake will I do it for how should my name be polluted I will not give my glory to another so let me let me let me give you some Jimmy Tony commentary on that verse right there this is what it really is have you how many of you got kids that you needed to spank before now all of our new parents pay attention cuz you need to spank your kids too I know y'all got all these new ways of doing things but the the Bible said spoil the rod and or spare the rod and spoil the child anyhow we don't want to get too biblical here tonight but okay um but let me let me explain to you like this have you ever had one of your kids do something stupid in public and and like you you needed to whip them but you'd have went to jail like you you know you're in the middle of Walmart and and you saw him just just push you over the edge and you know good and well you need to whip them but you don't because you don't want to go to jail and I get that I get that but you grab him by the arm and you kind of smile at him you're so cute when I get you home when I get you home I'm going to kill you you hear me I'm going to kill you dead I'm going to beat the devil out of you oh don't I'm I'm not going to forget I'm going whip you when I get you God that's what God's saying in our text God's looking at his people saying I don't agree with what you just did I don't agree with your lifestyle and I'll spank you when I get you home but right now I'm going to bless you and I'm going to deliver you because if I don't it's going to look like the enemy is going to win and I refuse to let my name be trampled on so it's got nothing to do with you and what you deserve or don't deserve this my God saying my name is at stake right here here some of you some of you cut up in church and your parents said hey when I get you home I'm going to whip you and then when you driving home you're like this like you slay in the spirit you know you ain't been to the altar in six months but you you don't want to get a whiping so you come home you Yabba daab doing in tongues and you drunk all the way home you still getting a whipping I will whip you speaking in tongues in Jesus name I will beat you to the third heaven and back Ezekiel chapter 36 says therefore say unto the house of Israel thus sayith the Lord God I do not this for your sakes I do it for my holy name's sake oh by the way you've profaned that you've made a mess of that but I'm going to sanctify my great name which was profaned among the Heathen which you have profaned and the Heathen shall know that I'm the Lord the Lord is saying In this passage that he's going to do what he does not because we deserve it and not because we're worthy of it and actually we've done everything to make him not should make him not want to do it but he said I'm going to do it so the Heathen will know in other words I'll discipline you later but there's people watching right now and I need to come to your rescue so that people will know my Mercy is greater than your mistake and my grace is greater than your guilt and my spirit is more powerful than your sin and I can step out on a limb right now and prophesy a little bit I believe God wants us to tap into such a Revival into such Church growth if he terries for 40 more years not so we will believe and not because we deserve it but so the Heathen will see the name of God As a matter of fact God loves the church too much to not give us an end time Holy Ghost Revival God loves himself too much to not show out in our city and not show out in our church God loves himself too much to let this church fall to let this church go back I don't care who says what this is God's church and Upon This Rock I will build my church in the Gates of Hell God said don't worry about it that's my church that's my church I'll bless you when people don't think you should be blessed I'll lift you up when people don't think you should be lift up I'll come under and I'll underg guard you that's my name that's my church that's my reputation we're going to see so many people get the Holy Ghost that people are going to have to stand back and say Look What the Lord Has Done this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve I don't want to bore you but I want to drive this home why did God create a people for himself Isaiah 43:7 everyone that is called by my name said I'm gonna get honor out of that that others that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord why why did God spare rebellious Israel in the wilderness and finally bring them into the promised land Ezekiel 20:14 I acted for my name's sake that it should not be polluted before the Heathen in whose sight I brought them out why did God not destroy Israel when they rejected him from being King over them and demanded to be like other nations 1st Samuel 12:22 for the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name's sake why did God bring the Israelites from Babylon in captivity because Daniel Prayed in Daniel 9:7 17 for your own sake Lord smile again on your desolate Sanctuary so hear me tonight Church time and time again scripture reiterates reinforces and retails that God loves his glory and that God wants to make his name famous and that God's going to always come out on top and that's good news for us because that teaches me that God's not going to let the devil outdo him he's not going to let the devil win he's not going to let the devil have the upper hand no wonder he could say with such a such Authority destroy this Temple and in 3 days I will raise it back up because if I stay in the ground the devil wins but I refuse to let my name be trampled on so put a stone in front of it put guards on duty do everything you got to do but when it's all said and done I'm going to be resurrected why because John said in chapter 12 for this hour have I come father glorify your name for every one of you that's hurting right now and you don't know why God hasn't healed you yet let me tell you God is going to get Glory out of your story quit feeling sorry for yourself and just understand that the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord and God does all things well the reason why the enemy can't win is because God's name is at stake here the the reason we're going to tear down strongholds is because God's name is on the line here the reason we're going to have a holy ghost move is because God's name is too important it's not about us it's not about what we bring to the table it's about this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve and so devil you keep throwing whatever you want to throw at us but just let me remind you no weapon formed against me shall prosper I may get knocked down but I'm going to get back up here's here's a Holiness standard that we don't really preach a lot anymore this is a Holiness standard that's kind of fell by the wayside I got some of you real nervous right now this is a Holiness standard the Bible says a righteous man falls seven times the falling is not what makes him righteous getting up is what makes him righteous so hey I'm not going to stay down I may have messed up I may have sinned I may have done that but I'm not going to stay down cuz if I stay down the devil wins here so I'm going to get back up Rejoice not again don't don't throw a party at Hell God's not finished with this thing yet this is his name this is his glory this is for his honor it's always been about God it's going to always be about god let's stand we sing that old song it's all in him it's all in him we need to we need to tweak that a little bit it's all about him it's all about him the Mighty God is Jesus and it's all about him it's not about you it's not about me put me on that Apostolic Collective mess I don't I don't Glory some of you should have quit a long time ago cuz you kept falling and you kept fall but you somehow kept pulling yourself up God's propping you up because somebody's watching your testimony and God said my name's too great to let it be trampled on right there I know you need a weaping I know you need some discipline I'll worry about that later I'm going to prop you up because my name is at stake here so this is going to help us tonight take the pressure off of whether or not God heals that's not up to me that's God's business we're going to pray we're going to anoint we're going to fast we're going to believe we're going to do everything we're supposed to do but I I am not going to let you or the devil or myself put pressure on me to be God so we're just going to say all right God magnify your name here it's not it's not my name is not on the line here if you don't heal God your name is whether or not God delivers is not based on how much somebody deserves it but for his glory whether or not God gives this church greater Revival it's not so somebody can say look at us look at us look at us no no no no so we can say look what God's doing the Heathen are amazed except the Lord build the house his name is on the line here and he will never let his name suffer shame this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve and so Jesus gives this seemingly innocent command in the New Testament it's you know just one of these little shallow words that oh love your neighbor as yourself the reason why Christ could say that so easily is because that's exactly what God did he loved us as he loved himself and that's what prompted him to become man and pay the ransom for our sin he didn't die because we were good Sinners he died because he was a great God he didn't come because he thought we could bring something he said I'm going to do this for my glory I'm going to do this for my he loved himself too much to not make a way for us to be with him so now do you understand why I said this egotistical self-centered and pompous God that we serve let's quit being man centered and making it about us and let's be come god- centered let's take our Focus off ourselves let's let the light of God's glory shine on the past 40 years and say look what God has done but yet point for the next till the Rapture of the church and say he's the same yesterday today and forever he's a great God then the Bible says he is greatly to be praised if you're here tonight and you don't have the Holy Ghost you're not got you're not good enough to get the Holy Ghost but for God God God loved himself too much to not fill you with his Spirit if you're here tonight and you haven't been baptized in jesus' name the lord's name wants to be magnified and made famous in this place if you're here tonight and you're addicted to things that are trying to destroy you why don't you just let God fight that battle and let him get all the glory you don't have to fight that any longer it's not about you it's all about this egotistical self-centered and pompous holy God that we serve he said I will not share my glory with another if you're sick and your body I want you to slip your hands up right now and I want us to just try this Lord I don't want you to heal me cuz I don't want to die I don't want you to heal me cuz I'm I'm not ready to leave my family you're never going to be ready for any of that God I'm asking you tonight to heal me so your name would be made magnified people know I'm sick God and if I get a clean bill of health God that will be a billboard For Your Glory do this for your name's sake some of you need to pray right now I'm addicted to things and it looks like my life is God For Your Glory would you step in and make a way where there seems to be no way saints of God let's keep building let's keep advancing let's keep believing it's not about us it's about him if you want to turn your attention toward Heaven I want you to step out of where you are I want you to come this is for his name his name is on the line line tonight his name is on the line tonight if you're not where you need to be with God I promise you God will make him
