Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Summary

  • **Two texts, one burden.** He opens in praise, blessed by the week's preaching and glad to be back in a church that has been a landmark for revival, and goes straight to his texts: the prophet's prayer that God would revive his work in the midst of the years and in wrath remember mercy, and the psalmist's plea — wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee. In prayer a few weeks before, the subject settled on him in three words: when revival comes.
  • **Revival is the heartbeat.** Revival, he insists, is different from evangelism: it has to be born in the hearts of God's people, beginning with the preacher, because a church never rises above its pulpit. The state of the church sobers him — fewer than ten percent of the churches are having sustained growth, and the average Sunday school runs about seventy-five. Yet here, in the decade of the nineties, with monumental changes blowing minds, he refuses to believe God brought the church to this hour to fizzle out and lose its power. The hour is not next year; it is today.
  • **Hungry people receive.** Nothing is received until it is desired. The blessing rests on those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled — and revival is a time of refreshing, renewal, recommitment, and re-examination. The great danger of a meeting like this is to hear it, feel it, and go home and shelve it, like a man who looks in a mirror and walks away forgetting what he saw. His plea is to take what is in the auditorium home.
  • **The first mark: praise and worship.** When revival comes, it creates a climate of praise and worship — you will never see revival in a dead church or a comfortable one. The Bible still speaks of clapping hands, lifted hands, shouting, and leaping for joy, and in twenty-eight years of pastoring he has found praise and worship to be the key that produces the atmosphere of revival. A doctor who came into his church and received the Holy Ghost kept bringing his visitors on Sunday nights instead of Sunday mornings: the mornings, he said, were a little too quiet, and he wanted them there when they could feel God. The closing psalms of the Psalter are one long call to praise, and God is looking for people who will not be intimidated out of it.
  • **The second mark: evangelism.** Enough of the Holy Ghost makes a person want to go and tell it — the promise is power after the Holy Ghost comes, and witnesses from Jerusalem to the uttermost part of the earth. His son-in-law Rodney, set on fire by a fresh move of God, asked what he could do, and was sent to teach Bible studies. A teenage boy still in school — a fine musician from a musical family — was his first study; the boy was baptized, received the Holy Ghost, and is already playing in the choir. Then came a young couple, Terry and Debbie; then James and Dominic; then a young man whose brother, and then whose parents, followed him into baptism. If it can happen once, it can happen again: God designs every believer to be a soul winner, and the soul winner is wise.
  • **Saturation: take it to the city.** The fish never jump out of the lake onto the hook, so methods have to reach people where they are: door knocking — a brother from his own state is winning souls that way, and his nephew took a dilapidated building on the last street of a little town from ten people to a hundred seventy in Sunday school; bus ministry, with three hundred three riding his church's buses last Sunday; follow-up visitation, phone ministry, newspaper and radio. When the big billboard in a key location was priced at twelve hundred dollars a month, he offered three hundred and a one-year contract — and got it. He wants every one of the hundred twenty-eight thousand people in his city to know where his church is, because a day is coming when they will need a church, and they will need the message the Lord sent him there with seventeen years ago.
  • **Disturb us, O Lord.** He reads an old prayer aloud — disturb us when we are too wealthy and pleased with ourselves, when we have lost our thirst for the water of life, when we sail too close to the shore — and owns it: he has had the Holy Ghost since 1956 and wants to be hungrier for God today than ever. The burden is for the lost in his own city: a bus worker brought him a little two-year-old girl whose parents had pushed her through a plate-glass window and burned her with cigarettes, and his workers were out there loving her — she pays no tithes, but he is glad she was in church. As long as one soul is going to hell, the task is unfinished.
  • **A baptism of desire: Frank and the buses.** Frank came into the church eight or nine years ago, a young man in his twenties, and caught the burden: give me a van and I can fill it. In his own car he brought fourteen; with a van, twenty-eight; with a big bus, fifty-six; then eighty-seven; with two buses, a hundred twenty-eight in one Sunday. When he offered to pay out of his own pocket to rent a city bus, the church paid instead — and he brought a hundred sixty-seven, then two hundred fifty-one. Another preacher in the same state would let the people come if they wanted and go to hell if they didn't; that man is gone, and a thriving revival church stands in his city. The harvest is white and the labourers are few — the answer is to pray the Lord of the harvest to send forth labourers.
  • **The close: stopping to pray.** Frank, called to preach and preaching in their services, has been given a building across town and a church of his own, averaging a hundred fifty every Sunday; last Sunday he brought four over to be baptized. It is time, Godair says, to help revive. He has a whole lot more he was going to say, but he feels the Holy Ghost saying stop right there — there is a tremendous preacher coming behind him, David Fuller, whom he loves — so he calls the house to stand and pray a while: what has been received in this meeting has to be taken to the streets and lanes of the city; it is a divine imperative.

done I do believe today with all of my heart that Revival is the heartbeat of God that's right I do believe that Revival is the heartbeat of the church I think there's a difference in Revival and evangelism that's right I think that Revival has to be born in the hearts of God's people beginning with the preacher that's right and a church will never be able to rise above the pulpit and if a preacher doesn't have Revival in his heart then the church will never have Revival if there is no Revival in the Pulpit there will be no Revival in the Pew consequently the work of God will be stifled in that particular place and evangelism will in effect die and the work of the Lord will not go forth as God intended for it to go forth praise God Bible is the heartbeat of the church I do not want to and do not intend to be negative because I'm not a negative preacher I I like good positive preaching but I I want to say this afternoon something that I think that I need to say less than 10% of all the United Pentecostal churches are having sustained growth less than 10% and that is a proven fact are having sustained growth we do have our times of increase and we do have our times of of flourishing but not a large number of our churches throughout our constituency are having consistent ondoing sustained growth praise God and I do believe that God wants to send our generation and now here we are in the decade of the 90s and I believe that God wants to send our generation a mighty move of the spirit that is absolutely and literally unprecedented in the course of the church dispensation of time praise God the average Sunday school in the United Pentecostal Church is somewhere around 75 that's the average throughout the entire constituency and throughout the entire fellowship and we're in a great church today A beautiful church A Large Church a church that is having constant Revival in a move of of the spirit but the fact is that most of us are not seeing the move of the spirit and the Revival in the major that you're seeing in Alexandria however I do believe that God is wanting to do something in us I do believe that God is wanting to Quicken something within us and I do believe that God will send a Revival anywhere maybe I'm naive today maybe I'm a little naive but if I am you forgive me but I believe that God wants and Revival everywhere everywhere everywhere in every city and every state and every County every village every Hamlet every parish as you have it here I believe that God wants to send a a mighty move of the spirit like we have never seen I cannot subscribe to the idea are the theory that here we are now living in the end time and so many mon Monumental changes Es are taking place it's already been mentioned in this meeting things that are literally blowing our minds I don't believe that God has brought the church to this occasion and to this hour to just somehow go downhill and fizzle out lose its empath this and lose its power I I just don't believe that for a moment I believe that God is raising up a group of preachers and ministers Saints of God all over this nation and around the world if you please that are hungry for a move of the spirit and they're not going to be satisfied with anything less than the best that God has for hallelujah hallelujah you know we talk about Revival a lot of times and I've been in places where they say it's coming just wait it's coming and it's on the way and it's almost here and it's just around the corner and everybody just just hold on now and and it's going to get here before long be careful because it's it's about to hit us and some people sitting in the Pew are beginning to wonder what it is that we're looking for when it is that is coming amen I I do believe that this is the hour let me say that right now I believe this is the hour I don't think we've going to we're going to wait till next year I I believe that whatever we

do for God we must do quickly and do it now now today is the day of salvation today is the day of Revival today is the day for signs and wonders and miracles today is the day for an Apostolic power to be manifested in the church it's not tomorrow it's today it's not next year it's 1990 Hallelujah and while we're talking about Revival is is coming and it's on the way it's just around the corner at the same time many churches birds are building their nest on the Altar and cobwebs are in the bster there's little anticipation or hope of a move of God and many are satisfied with status quo I don't intend to be mean or ugly today but any preacher any preacher that is satisfied in his church with status quo I just say that he ought to resign and get out of the pull pit and let somebody go there that's hungry for a move of God hallelujah hallelujah it's too late in the game the hour is too late for our pits to be filled with preachers that are not seeking after God they're not hungry for God they're not anxious for the move of his Spirit but they their interests are in other things I'm going to tell you today church it's time for our entire being to become wrapped up in the greatest on the face of the Earth and that's the cause of the kingdom of Jesus Christ and oh God help us I believe God is ready to open up the windows of heaven and he's ready to pour out his Spirit if we're ready to receive it God is ready to give it hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah if we're ready to receive it God's ready to give it if we're ready to position ourselves in the place that the Holy Spirit wants us God is ready to do an unprecedented and a glorious work in his church thank God for Years Gone by and I Revere and respect our elders that are on this platform today very deeply and they saw a mighty move of God in years going by but I'm just here as just a little voice to tell you that God's not through God's not through the game's not over they may be in the ninth inning but the game's not over bless God it's time for Revival now it's time for the power of God now it's time for a move of the spirit now it's time for the miraculous now it's time for the supernatural now and somebody here is hungry for it glory to God glory to God we'll never receive anything until we desire it we'll never receive anything until we want it amen we've got to have that strong spiritual incentive and that strong desire blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled they shall be filled Hallelujah and Revival is a time of refreshing it's a time of renewal it's a time of recommitment it's a time of re-examination of our lives and our values it's a time for the church to fall in its face before God and beseech the god of Heaven until he pour out his Spirit upon us hallelujah to God and I believe that this is the hour that it's going to happen and and brother Anthony Manel we're not going to just come here and hear this kind of preaching and feel what we're feeling in the Holy Ghost and then go home and and set it on the Shelf somewhere I believe there's hundreds of people in this congregation that's going to get a hold of this and you're going to take it with you and we're going to have a move of God hallelujah one of the greatest dangers of coming to this meeting would be to hear what we've heard and to feel what we felt and to know what we've known and experience what we've experienced brother kilgor and then go home and and set it aside and forget it it's like a man that looks in the glass and walks away and straight way forget us what manner of man he is hallelujah I don't want to go home and forget it but I want to go home and find an altar somewhere I want to go home and find a place to pray I don't want my praying to stop stop here I don't want my worship to stop here I don't want my love for Jesus to

stop here but I want to take it with me Hallelujah do you feel it today Pentecostals let's take what we've got in this Auditorium let's take it home with us and God will give us Revival in every city in every city hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah yeah now when Revival comes there are some things that it will do and there is an atmosphere that it will create in a local assembly I like to be in a Revival church it's just got a good feel about it amen when these preachers stand in the pull pit they can all tell you when they're in a Revival Church there's just something good about the feel of it amen and when Revival comes the let me tell you that number one it is going to create a climate and an atmosphere of praise and worship to God you will never see Revival in a dead Church you will never see Revival in a comfortable Church Hallelujah and I believe the holy spirit is probing and pting and digging digging us up if you please to make us uncomfortable Hallelujah I don't want to be comfortable today I want the spirit of God to get a hold of me and shake me like I've never been shaken oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah not very many people find God in a dead church not very many people pray through in the altars of a dead church amen there are some people who say you Pentecostals clap your hands too much and and you lift your hands too much I don't think we do I don't think we do I think this is the key praise and worship is the key in the 28 years that I have had the opportunity to Pastor a church I believe that praise and worship is the key that brings about and produces a climate and an atmosphere of Revival you're not going to have a Revival brother arold unless there is praise and worship to God in that congregation we cannot stifle it we to let it flow Hallelujah some say don't do it but the Bible still says clap your hands the Bible still says lift your hands the Bible still talks about shouting the Bible still speaks of Leaping for Joy the Bible still talks about these things that are important to us and I hope that it's Pentecostals that we never see the day come when hand clapping is stopped and and lifting our hands has stopped and shouting is stopped and and tongue talking is stopped and running the a is stopped and and we just go through our motions of ritualistic Pentecostalism I hope we never see that day bless God it may seem Antiquated out of date out of style call it what you want to but I still believe the thing that's going to bring Revival is praise and worship praise and worship hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah oh you may be seated there's some that say well if you praise too much or worship too much you're going to run folks off folks won't like it I'm going to tell you friend that real praise and worship to the Lord is going to bring a whole lot more people in than it ever runs off this is a hungry World we're living in and I'm convinced of that somebody said oh just about everybody saved that's going to be saved we've got to just try to hang on and hold on you can forget that philosophy that is not of God our problem all time is between our own ears right up here is where our problem is brother let me tell you that to those that believe all things are possible but to those that do not believe they'll never see a manifestation of the power of God hallelujah amen thank God thank God I say let's keep shouting let's keep on running the AIS let's keep worshiping God some while back we we got a doctor that came in our came into our church and I baptized him he got the Holy Ghost and and I noticed that he was bringing visitors on Sunday night and in our

church I don't know how it is in yours but on Sunday morning it's not hardly as as Lively as it is on Sunday night I don't know why that is our our folks don't get woke up good I guess on Sunday morning and and it's it's Sunday night before Pentecostals get good and and loose but they'll get loose Sunday night now you can count on that but now he he was bringing the visitors on Sunday night and I said Doctor I said why don't you start bringing and them on Sunday morning I was going to kind of just you know break them in easy and he looked at me with a puzzled expression he'd never been in Pentecost his life till he came and received the Holy Ghost there and he said but Pastor he said Sunday mornings are a little too quiet he said I want him to be here when they can feel God oh Hallelujah I'm telling you Church there's a hungry world out there let's don't put a land on this let's don't stifle this let's Let It Go praise and worship brings Revival Hallelujah I said praise and worship brings Revival oh hallelujah oh Hallelujah I was reading yesterday in the 146 Psalm and it starts off praising the Lord it is Praise You the Lord 147 starts off praise you the Lord it ends praise ye the Lord 148 praise ye the Lord it ends Praise You the Lord 149 starts off praise the Lord ends praise the Lord 150 says praise the Lord it ends praise the Lord I begin to get the message amen I said I begin to get the message God's looking for people that's going to praise him and lift up his name Glory Glory Glory I said God's looking for people that's not intimidated by the devil are by the world are bound by peer pressure it's time for the church to begin to praise the Lord hallelujah hallelujah somebody shout hallelujah hallelujah so when Revival comes to a church it's going to create there a climate of praise and worship to the Lord Jesus Christ another thing that's going to happen when Revival comes there's going to be an unprecedented Spirit of evangelism that's going to hit that congregation I said there's going to be an unprecedented Spirit of evangelism when you get enough of the Holy Ghost you're going to want to go you're going to want to go tell it you're going to want to you're going to want to share what you've got I said when you get full of the Holy Ghost you're going to want to go Acts 1:8 said you'll receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and into the uttermost part of the earth Hallelujah that early church went everywhere preaching Jesus Christ and there were signs and wonders and miracles that was the result of their love for God and their preaching of the Gospel Hallelujah when a church gets full enough of of of the power of God and and and and Revival fires are beginning to burn on the altars of our hearts then evangelism is going to be the result evangelism is going to be the offsuit of it God didn't give me the Holy Ghost just to sit on my favorite Pew God didn't give me the Holy Ghost to put my name on a Pew and say this is mine I want you to know that God gave me the Holy Ghost to go out and tell it to somebody else and to go share it with someone else hallelujah hallelujah well somebody say praise the Lord prise the Lord I think God pull my coat amen I feel the Lord here right now I said God's ready to send Revival and evangelism is going to be the result of it I have a daughter and son-in-law that's not here today they're at home working but my son-in-law received the Holy Ghost as a boy in our church and got baptized and came to our church school and and was a good boy but after a while he got out of school he really got a real move of the spirit of God in his life he got a real move of God in his life and ever since that time it changed him you know it's beautiful to see the work of the Holy Spirit and every Pastor rejoices when they see a life that has been maybe a little non-committed and like aaal and yet there's an oldfashioned praying through and they get on fire for God they come by and say

Pastor what can I do what can I do that's the spirit that's that's the attitude of somebody that's really prayed through what can I do for the church and for the work of God and I told him I said Rodney you you can teach a Bible study he said I've never taught one I've never taught one I said but you can you can teach a Bible study and he said well how do you go about getting one and so we talked about that for a while well the result was that he said I'll start off with this teenage boy by the name of [name redacted] he's still in school and and [name redacted]'s a good musician he comes from a family of outstanding musicians and and he said I'll teach [name redacted] so he started teaching [name redacted] [name redacted] got baptized and got the Holy Ghost and that's just been a few months ago and now he's already playing music in our choir and when he got a hold of that that was a beautiful thing brother Manuel when he got a hold of that it was like something begin to turn over inside of him something opened up inside of him he began to believe hey if if I can do it once I can do it again there's people sitting right here today that could teach a Bible study but the devil's got you intimidated and you don't believe you can do it I've just come here to tell you you can do it there's people here that say I can't win a soul but I'm here to tell you that God designs you to be a soul winner God designs you to be a soul winner he that winner Souls is wise and so there was a young couple that started coming to church named Terry and Debbie and he said you think I could approach them I said why don't you he taught them a Bible study Terry and Debbie got baptized and got the Holy Ghost they're coming every service they just had a new baby about 3 weeks ago and they're a sweet couple after that it gets kept getting a hold of him and he said you think I could teach another and I said why don't you give it a try and he be to teach James and Dominic a young couple with three children and while he's teaching them they all they both of them got baptized and got filled with the Holy Ghost praise God and this this thing began to get a hold of his heart and he told me just about 3 weeks ago he said I need I've already finished one or two I need to take on another Bible study and and so he began to teach a young man and while I was in Missouri at brother mcgr a couple of weeks ago he brought him to church and baptized him in Jesus name and and I call he teaching there Monday night and I called home from here and he said I got his brother to come and this weekend he's going to get baptized then he said his daddy and mama is going to get baptized now now here's what I'm saying bless God it's time for this church to get turned old it's time for us to get turned on about evangelism come on Pentecostal we've been stuck in the mud too long it's time to win souls w Lord but I can't do it I just I can't speak I can't talk well enough I don't have a good enough understanding of the scripture there's not a Spirit-filled believer in this house today that can't win a soul God designed you to be a soul winner Hallelujah when Revival comes evangelism is going to be the result of that deep burning fire of Revival that's burning in the hearts of God's people oh Hallelujah I believe it's time to obey what the Lord taught us and go in the streets of the city and into the lanes and into the highways and into the byways Hallelujah Sunday week ago we have a young man that got a got a desire for for Outreach Ministry in the rest homes and he goes there every week and and preaches and they sing and he didn't just go and just patty cake a little he said I want to make this the soul winning Endeavor brother go there I know these people in the sunset of their lives and I want to reach them before it's too late Hallelujah and he's brought several of them to church and they've been baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost one lady got baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost a week later she died and he came to me and said oh that's the lady I baptized and got the Holy Ghost she's dead and gone now but she obeyed God before she left here I'm going to tell you something friend there is a reward that's awaiting you that are willing to pay the price and be moved in the fields that are white and ready to harvest Sunday week ago Wesley said pastor I've got a man that wants to be baptized he's 77 or eight whatever but he said the problem is he's a big man and he only has one leg and it's very difficult for him to get around and he has a huge hole right here in his throat and they've done surgery on him it looks awful and he said what can I

do I said why don't you con contact the doctor and see if the doctor would recommend something we don't want to do anything that they don't want us to do and he contacted the doctor and no I didn't want to ground him and so he contacted the doctor and the doctor said I'll tell you what he said Sunday I'll come to your church and I'll take care of everything doctor's not even a member of our church and here he came last Sunday and he set in on the whole service and and then at the close of the service he went up up in the Babs area took him about 30 minutes of working on him couple of three of our young men got him and put him down in the water in Jesus name and the doctor stayed about 45 minutes after the service was over tending to him to make sure everything was all right Hallelujah and I went up sh hands with him I said Doctor you don't know how much I appreciate you coming today and doing this he said Reverend anybody that wants to get baptized that bad and anybody like this young man that wants him to get baptized that bad I'm just happy to give my time hallelujah hallelujah and I want you to know that everybody out there is not against God everybody's not anti- Pentecost everybody's not fighting the truth there's some Open Hearts out there that are saying Jesus I Need You Jesus I Need You hallelujah hallelujah don't tell me they're not hungry they are don't tell me they don't want God they do want God they do want God it's our responsibility it's our responsibility may be seated it's our responsibility it's our responsibility the fish never jump out of the lake to try to get caught on your hook I don't care how good the bait is if you want to catch fish my friend you got to go where they are and if one bait don't work youve got to change baits and I'm not talking about changing the gospel you don't believe that neither do I there's a gospel that works Hallelujah there's a gospel of death burial and resurrection that has hasn't changed in almost 2,000 years and it's not going to change today and it won't change tomorrow but I'm telling you that sometime our approach has got to change and sometime our attitude has got to change and sometime our spirit has got to change Hallelujah the old days of of getting a guitar with two strings off of it and having church and beating away and having everybody in the house to testify and all almost all all of them are are discouraged testimonies and and you know I've been through all that I was raised in church and and as a boy I remember all of that I used to read testimony service and I'm not talking about a good testimony there's still time for that Hallelujah but I don't want anybody testify to my churchless they got something to say bless God unless they got something good and positive and wonderful to say about Jesus then just keep your seat somebody there God's been good to there's somebody sitting there that God is blessed oh hallelujah hallelujah said we need to forget about Dead songs and dead testimonies and dead courses and dead prayer rooms and dead sermons and dead Services somehow we need to invite the Holy Ghost into this thing oh God we do things that maybe we didn't do years ago I believe it's time for the church to start door knocking you say I never want a soul by door knocking well I I've seen Souls one to God by door knocking God honors the effort he honors the fact that you go forth and when you don't win that one the holy spirit will reach out and bring somebody else's home Hallelujah but there's people being one to God by door knocking brother Mark Foster is here today from our state and from Winston Salem they've been winning Souls by door knocking knocking hundreds of doors a week amen I have a nephew here today that's sitting back here he and his wife went to Salsbury North Carolina 3 years ago had a little dilapidated building and and on the back side of town it was the last building on the street when you left there you went in the woods and that is a fact but he took that little group with 10 people and was excited about it Hallelujah that's part of the key right there is getting

excited about it Oh Glory to God and he took that little group in a in a dilapidated building that was almost like an antique building out of out of the Civil War and he started having Church there and now then they bought five or six acres out on the interstate or more maybe seven8 acres and they've already moved their location last Sunday I think they had 170 something in Sunday School in a little town over there don't tell me it can't happen friend there's Revival everywhere there's Revival everywhere and I'm telling you what you're not going to have it by sitting down the folding chair breaking I see you've got to get out there where the Sinners are I'm telling you that when Revival comes evangelism is going to be the Ute of that great Revival that's burning in our hearts Hallelujah I believe in door knocking I believe in bus Ministry call me in Old Fashion if you want to I still believe in bus Ministry last Sunday we had 303 on our buses I still believe in running buses praise God you say I don't believe in it well you just go ahead you can say it cost money sure it does you can say these kids don't pay TI all you want to but I'm going to tell you there's something about it that God will bless Hallelujah there's something about it that God will bless when you begin to love souls that's the heartbeat of God his souls and when you start loving Souls God's going to bless your effort and he's going to putch your hand his hand of approval upon it hallelujah praise God I Still Believe We ought to do follow-up visitation phone Ministry newspaper ads radio ads or radio programs Bill board you say preacher all of that costs money well we spend money for everything else don't we we spend money for everything else amen you said I don't have enough money in the Treasure well you make peanut brittle for other things why can't you make it peanut brittle to buy a newspaper at did I say something wrong Hallelujah I said we make peanut brittle for other things why can't we make it to buy spots on the radio I could put a big billboard up praise God in a in a very key location in our city I talked to him about a month ago what about that big billboard up there huge billboard and and they said it's $1,200 a month and I said to the to the man I said I'll give you $300 for it he said sir you didn't understand me I said 1,200 a month I said I understood you well and you understood me I said I'll give you $300 a month and sign a one-year contract for that he said there's no way I said well just think about it and he called me the next day he said I don't know why I'm going to do this but I'm going to let you have that billboard Hallelujah you know what I'm sick and tired of the Pentecostals staying on back row somewhere on the back seat bless God it's time for truth to hit the streets and to go downtown come on Pentecostals come on pastors it's time that we move out and do the will of God hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah after all we do about what we want to do and we spend for about what we want to spend for why don't we do something to reach the Lost why don't we do something to reach the lost I said why don't we do something to reach the lost I want everyone in my city to know about our church I want to somehow practice saturation evangelism I I would to God that everyone of the 128,000 people in my city would know about hear about know where it is the United Pentecostal Church in my city I want everybody in that town to know who we are where we are and I made up my mind that I'm going to do everything I can to do it radio programs every week newspaper ads every week in in the durm advertising advertising papers we're buying ads Billboards you teaching Bible studies you name I want everybody in my community to know where I church is because there's going to come a day when they're going to need a church there's going to come a day brother Mike Williams when they're going to need God there's going to come a day they're going to need a church and when they do I want them to than of the United Pentecostal Church when there's going to come a day they're going to need a preacher and I want them to than of me you say that's egotistical I don't believe that I don't believe that bless God the Lord sent me there 17 years ago with a message I still got the message the whole city needs to hear it come on

apostolics the whole city needs to hear our message oh I read something quite some time ago that said disturb us oh Lord when we are too wealthy pleased with ourselves when our dreams have come true because we dream too little when we have arrived in safety because we sail too close to the shore disturb us oh Lord when with the abundance of things which we possess we have lost our thirst for the Water of Life you preached about it brother Libby I want that I've had the Holy Ghost since 1956 but I want to be more hungry for God today and I've ever been in all of my life when haven't fallen in love with time we have ceased to dream of Eternity in our efforts to build the new Earth we've allowed our vision of the new heaven to grow dim stir us oh Lord to dream and to DARE more boldly and to venture on wider Seas where storms shall show thy Mastery we're losing sight of the land we shall find the stars in the name of him who has pushed back the horizons of our whole and invited the brave to follow him disturb us oh Lord I think of meetings of this nature I think of the power of the Holy Spirit digging its way into the hearts of preachers and Preachers Wives and preachers kids and and saints of God disturbing us shaking us saying you've done well but you've not done well enough you've done good but it's not good enough as long as there's one soul in my city that's going to hell I've got an unfinished T I've got a job to do I've got a task to perform as long as one deric is roaming our streets as long as one drug addict is roaming our streets as long as one alcoholic is in our city I've got an unfinished Tas to do Sunday week ago a bus worker brought a little 2-year-old girl a little pretty girl up to me and said brother God there this is so and so and called her name I said honey I'm glad to see you and the bus worker said this little girl's been coming to our church for a good while yesterday her daddy and mother got mad at her and I noticed her face was all cut over and they said she said Daddy and mother got mad at her and pushed her through a plate glass window and cut her face over and besides that said let me show you all the burn places where they had deliberately taken cigarettes and stuck it to her little body and burned her all over but here's our workers out there loving her no she's not an adult and she's not paying TI but I'm going to tell you I'm glad she was there Hallelujah and if somehow we can get a get a get a burden for that child that's been molested or that senior citizen that's in the rest home or that person that's in a jail or prison and take them to gospel I believe that the best days of our Revival Evangelistic efforts are ahead of us oh Hallelujah I said the best days are ahead of us we have not peaked out we have not reached some type of spiritual Utopia preachers we have not reach a place where we can sit back and settle back and say I've got a good church it's a pretty good size it pays pretty good I'm in a comfortable living I'm in a comfortable situation now then I've got it made I'm going to tell you friend we don't have anything made as long as gos are going to hell there must be a heavy burden that comes upon us as long as one soul is going to hell I have not finished my task Hallelujah I must hurry along before I close I was thinking this morning about a young man in our church his name is Frank Frank came into our church and was baptized and got the Holy Ghost about eight or nine years ago I guess as a young man he's in his 20s now just got married about three or four months ago married of fine girl that came in our church but last spring I was preaching Soul winning and Outreach and Frank got under conviction he want to do something for God and he came to me and he said Brother G I wonder if you'd let me have a van if you'd let me have a van I believe I could fill it up and I said Frank we don't have an extra V right now he said well I I'd just like to have one I you've been preaching it and I I believe I can fill it up if you give me a van you know we preach folks under conviction well we got to do something about it praise God I said I'll tell you what Frank I said you take your car I was just going

to see what he'd do I said you take your car and go out to this week see how many you can get in your car he said that sounds all right he went out there he came in Sunday morning after church he said I had 14 my car and he said I believe if you give me that van I fill it up somebody else was using it we have six Maxi wagons and some buses and so on and I said I went to the bus director and I said I'd like to have that particular fan Frank needs it and he said I believe I can fill it up and the next Sunday he come in in a 15 passenger Dodge Max the wagon he had 28 come around he said pastor I had 28 he said I believe if you give me a big bus I could fill it up hallelujah hallelujah had never won a sto in that manner taught a few Bible studies never run a bus route never went to Wally BB School of bus Ministry never did a lot of things but just had a desire to do something for God I'm going to tell you that's just about all it takes it's just a desire if that ever gets a hold of us and we get a baptism of desire there's no telling what we're going to do and I said well Frank we don't have an extra bus but I want to see what I can do and so I got him a big bus and the third Sunday he was in bus Ministry he came came in about a 4550 passenger bus I said how many you have today Frank it's Sunday night before I saw him he said I had 56 I said is that all you have yes it's third Sunday he said 56 and he said I think if I had two buses I could fill them up and I looked at him and I said like I told him these words I said Frank you're like job you're one of those that trouble me but I said man I like that I'm troubling I wish everybody in my church had start troubling me that way brother kill Hallelujah and I I said well I tell you what we'll give you a bus and a van and he came in the next Sunday and if I'm mistake not it was either 87 or 88 I said me have he said 87 and I said Lord have mercy what we going to do with you he said if you give me two big buses I'll fill them up I'm telling you that if Revival fires ever get to burning in our heart we're going to reach our cities we're going to do something bless God we're not going to sit down take the attitude that I'm going to hell hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah one preacher came to North Carolina several years ago and I talked to him about the work of God in the city I'm doing a work for God and he said well now we got a building and we've got a sign and it's got to schedule on it and if they want to come in let them come and if they don't let them go to hell and I'm no you don't want him to Louisiana I didn't want him in North Carolina either thank God he's gone we don't keep men like that around very long he's gone but there's another man in that City there's another man in that City that's got a church that's a thriving Revival Church in this day because the problem was right here there was an attitude problem I don't feel like that today I don't feel like saying if here's the sign here's the schedule let them come and if they don't come let them go to hell no no the Harvest is white the labors of few pray you therefore the lord of the Harvest that he would send forth labors into his Harvest and so Frank went out with two big buses and he came back in he had 128 F Sunday and he said said I'll tell you what Pastor I know we can't afford any more buses here for them to be used we said I got a request and I said what's that he said I'll pay for it and he just works on a job this is what broke my heart he said if you'll rent a city bus I'll pay for it bring folks church if you'll rent a city bus and I said well let's check on it and I checked on him brother kilor was $120 for one Sunday and he said I'll pay for it I said no you won't Frank we'll pay for that next Sunday he came in with a big bus in the city city bus and he had 167 and and the next Sunday he done made a Believer out of me but now and I rent him another city bus and the next Sunday he had 251 on that bus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah and this young man was called to preach and was preaching some in our services and I said Frank with that kind of burden man you need a church he's not skilled he's not ready to Pastor he knows that and I know that but we we rented him a building across town on the other side of town and we're having

church over there and it hasn't maintained that high but he's averaging 150 every Sunday last Sunday he brought four over from there to our Bap to baptize them in Jesus name I'm going to tell you friend it's time to help revive I said it's time to help Ral it's time to have Revival I want you to stand up I I I I've got a whole lot more I was going to say but I feel the Holy Ghost is stop right there I wish we'd pray a while I know you've already prayed but I just wish we'd pray a while God wants to impact us God wants to give everybody here we cannot leave this meeting and go home and do nothing about what we know and we've received and felt we have got to take this to the streets and the lanes of the city it's a Divine imperative it's a must we've got to go we have no other alternative would you lift your hands with me and pray oh God oh somebody touch God right now it's time to have Revival it's time to be Evangelistic it's time to reach the lost it's time to put the goal back in the gospel it's time to reach our cities it's time and we can do it the holy spirit's called us to let's pray Church I had a lot more I was going to say but I just feel like stopping right now we have a tremendous preacher that's coming behind me that I love so very much brother David Fuller and I appreciate him and I want to stop right there but I know the Holy Ghost is wanting to do something to
