oh yes God would you remain standing with me this morning let's give y'all some Praise In This Place let's give God some praise in his house right now oh let's praise him right now thank you Lord Mighty God of heaven we love you today Mighty God of heaven we love you today I'm here to tell you as a man of God this morning that God is going to do something for someone in this congregation today God is here with his mighty presence and his mighty power and God is going to do work for you today God is going to do a work for you today your life is not over the devil is a liar you're in a church where God shows up God does miraculous powerful things for people because God loves you God loves you give your Bibles and would join me in Genesis chapter 3 and verse number one so good to see everybody today Genesis chapter 3 and verse number one now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made and he said just say those words with me he's going to stop there he's going to stop there God gave me this message God gave me this message and wherever you're at today this message is not for one person some people this message is going to find all of us all of us God loves us God wants to tell us some things today I want to minister to you on a message that God gave me for this church from my life for this church four seasons of the serpent for seasons of the serpent Jesus would you help your servant today would you help me do what I was born to do what I was called to do God would you help me to open my mouth and preach the infallible word this morning God is men and women stand before me Desiring to know you in a deeper Fuller richer relationship Lord as we're being hell fought is the enemy is trying his best to silence our voice I come to you today Jesus and ask you for power to preach Lord we drive back the foe today we push back principalities and Powers through the matchless name of Jesus today we believe in your power we believe in your presence in Jesus name we pray amen and amen Four Seasons Four Seasons of the serpent there is a book written hundreds of years ago by a man that was an expert and remained still an expert in The Art of War in the art and the skill of War and the maneuvering the maneuvering that takes place in war one of the fascinating things that he said he said it is of the utmost importance that you know your enemy that you know your enemy because when you know the strength of your enemy you automatically are educated to the weaknesses of yourself when you can know how strong your enemy is then you know what areas that you are weak in when I begin to see this in scripture and God began to show it to me I begin you know because I'm not those of you that I Pastor you know that I don't see a devil behind every tree I'm not one of these that look in the back seat of my car because there may be a demon waiting to Lurch on me I I don't see it I don't see a devil behind every 23 year old washing machine that breaks down I don't see a I I don't see a devil behind every car with four hundred thousand miles it won't start I I I I'm just not that kind that sees the devil behind every bad thing some things are just life amen they're just life but in saying that I would be a I would be a fool today I would be a fool and you're you're you you would be foolish to listen to me if I didn't believe in a literal devil an evil presence an evil presence an evil one an evil one that is out to kill steal destroy this evil one has no heart he has absolutely no compassion at all he'll Slither his way into a nursing home and speak into the ear of a 93 year old woman and tell her God doesn't love you any he'll slide in to an automobile filled with teenagers push them and move them and tempt them it doesn't care he's he's without any compassion without any heart he is he is our enemy I want to tell you a few things about our enemy this morning the first thing I want to tell you there is Four Seasons that I have found in the scripture there are four seasons that this serpent operates in there's four seasons you can categorize him uh in in these four seasons the first season that I want to talk to you about today is he is a speaking serpent he is a speaking serpent we find in the Garden of Eden that that Satan taking on this form are using the reptile the serpent begin to speak through this serpent and we understand what we will talk about when we're speaking when I say he is a speaking serpent I am referring to the fact that he is bringing you information that is not from God he's bringing you information he's bringing you information he's bringing you so-called information and so-called knowledge that is not it is not from God the example of my text today God's word said God's word said that you were not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil for in the day that you eat God's word said the day that you eat of that tree will be the day that you that you die now some have thought they found fault with the Bible because Adam is recorded to live hundreds of years after their fall in the garden and that they did but the death that God was speaking about was The Ultimate Death not a physical death your physical death is not the ultimate it is your spiritual death and because Adam and Eve partook and broke the Commandment of law of law they died that day although they were alive physically they were dead they were dead spiritually and if I could deviate from the from my point just for a moment this is why we preach the new birth because man needs to be born again because if you're only born once physically you'll die twice you'll die a physical birth and you'll die an eternal death of hell and destruction but if a man is born twice once physical and the second birth is a spiritual birth then you only have the one death to look the physical death but after that the resurrection of that place called Heaven that's why we emphasize the new birth but Satan came giving information his information was exactly the opposite of what God's information was Satan slandered God in that Satan said to Eve when Eve defended what God's word said Satan said You shall not surely die but you shall become like God and you shall be like God you shall be like him in other words Satan was slandering God by saying that he's wanting to remain the only one like him and of course that is true that is true today but that wasn't the reason for God giving the forbidding of the eating of the fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil Satan comes with information everybody say information we're living in an Information Age aren't we Satan comes with information he was a speaking serpent Paul in the second book of Corinthians Paul makes mention of this in chapter 11 in chapter 11 verse number 14. Paul makes mention of the serpent in the garden when he says and no marble for Satan himself is transformed into an angel into an angel of Light now what that doesn't mean light as far as the he was glowing and glistening with with some kind of Glory light there is talking about information Satan came as one offering information I I've got some new information for you Eve I have got some new information and the information that the serpent had was directly opposite of the information mission of the information of the word of God and of course when we look at the very opposite if we obey the Lord that speaks to us through his word then we have life and we have life more abundantly but if we are deceived and we listen to the information from the speaking serpent that information leads to destruction bondage and ultimately ultimately death you see Satan was created a powerful being by God he was created a powerful being by God that has to give an account of himself to God he has to give an account of himself to God in Job chapter 1 verse number 6 it presents this Job chapter 1 verse number six now there was a day when the sons of God these are the Angels Came to present themselves before the Lord the Angels Came to present themselves before the Lord to give an account an inspection if you please they came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan came also among them why would Satan have to come why would he have to come because he was a created being of God that is subject that is subject to God I'm going to tell you something Satan can only work in the yard that God allows him to work in Satan came also among them and the Lord said unto Satan Prince cometh thou give an account where have you been then Satan answered the Lord and said from going to and fro in the earth and walking up and down in it and the Lord said unto Satan hath thou considered my servant job now he didn't have to say there where you've been given account well I've been walking up and down to and fro I've been going throughout all the Earth he didn't say it but God revealed it to us looking whom he may devour that's what he's doing today he is a devil like a roaring lion he is not only a roaring lion he's a roaming lion he's just wherever that he can find a place that's why the Bible tells us do not give place to the devil someone said if you give him a Touhou if you let him get his toe in the door of your heart it won't be long he'll get a foothold and if you let him get his foot in your heart he'll get a foothold and eventually he'll create in you a stronghold every stronghold began with a Toho in a foothole that's why I don't give place to the devil when you find that it is something that is near his place shun it get away from it leave it don't entertain it don't pet it don't bring it home I I don't have much sympathy well maybe I should have for these people that have this many all kinds of money they buy the these exotic animals and they say they're going to be we're going to train them and they they they they buy apes and tigers and they have them laying on their couches and all all of these things and and they say oh we've trained them we've got them trained and then we'll have breaking news that'll tell us of someone that was mauled to death or some someone that that was a beaten within an inch of their life because the animal showed its true nature I'm going to tell you something you cannot tame the devil don't deceive yourself don't don't believe the famous line it won't happen to me please don't believe that there's been better preachers than me fall and there's been better Saints than you fall we had just need be getting completely out of our Lives don't don't give him a place to work don't give him those earbud earbuds don't give him that that music that glorifies rape and sex don't give him that secret channel that you've got on your television that you can watch all kinds of things you say well it's just between me and my wife no it's not between you and your wife there is a devil that's in that room too and he's just waiting to inject something in you he is a speaking he is a speaking serpent as a matter of fact when this serpent takes over and this serpent identifies himself this devil identifies himself in the days to come his Antichrist and false prophet in Matthew chapter excuse me in Revelation chapter 13 and 5 Revelation chapter 13 and 5 he is talking about the Antichrist and the false prophet and it says in Revelation 13 and 5 and there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and power was given unto him to continue 40 and two months can I tell you the most powerful people and the most dangerous people on the Earth today are people that can articulate their message Hitler did the damage that he did because Hitler was one of the most famous orators of his time he could hold people's Spellbound he was able to dodge he was able to present his product he was able to present his new way of government while staying away from other eras he was able they said that it was nothing out of the ordinary for Hitler to hold a crowd Spellbound for two three hours when he was given he was very passionate if you've ever watched any clips of Hitler he's very passionate about what he and he injected that passion I'm going to tell you something the wording of people today is very dangerous let me just throw a few of them out just throw a few of them out pro-choice you sound good pro-choice pro-choice right pro-choice well Pro for Choice that's good right we're American we got Choice that's not good because they're talking about life they're talking about that a woman can decide whether the life inside of her womb lives or dies pro-life it's pro-life and then to describe the unimaginable pervertedness of sexual outside of the marriage of a man and a woman they now just have to use initials LGBT and I'm going to tell you something if you're tightening up right now you're playing right into the devil's skin if you're tightening up right well I just don't know you know there's that there may be people in this room that's had an abortion and they'll never come to our church I got news for you they ain't coming as long as we water it down that's why a lot of people left the church the pulpit got to wishy-washy and they didn't know where anybody stood can I tell you can I tell you that there is a young woman there's a young mother well you may be seated maybe not so young now because this happened years ago but there's a woman and a daughter walking the streets of Maryville Tennessee that that mother came to my house when she was pregnant on her way to go have that child an abortion and someone talked her into coming by our house and I told that young girl I said this is a life inside of you and I told her the word aren't you afraid she wasn't going to come to church no I I really wasn't afraid of that because being a preacher of the Gospel is not about a number on a church board somewhere it's about being able to lay your head down at night and sleep because I had not failed to give you the full Council of God I gotta stand before God someday I was privileged several years ago sister Hyde I was privileged several years ago to stand in my favorite store Walmart and I ran into that mother I recognized the mother I recognized the mother but I didn't recognize until my knowledge it was the first time that I saw it had been a few years her seven-year-old daughter stand before and right beside her and the mother and I begin to talk and all the mother wanted to do was put her hand on that her daughter's head and the tears dripped off her face and she simply said can I tell you women that I've talked to that's had an abortion have told me brother Carpenter they have told me because I asked him this because sometimes somebody will slip a little note to me or somebody will say well I hate this morning you mentioned that because so and so was here but the women that I've talked to that have had abortions and because I asked them this how does it make you feel when I mentioned this in the congregation they said brother Carpenter mention it preach it I wish somebody would have been in my life I would have never made the choice that I had made if I had been raised up in a church tell any young girl not to go this route not to go this route you'll count every birthday you'll know when the baby was supposed to be born you'll look at every playground and think that would be my child on that playground come on church he is a speaking Serpent and we have got to identify you've got to identify the speaking serpent we have got to identify him and the only way to combat the Serpent's lies is with scripture please pardon me I love to run you think as much as I say this I'm gonna we'd have a church dead as a dead as a mackerel I don't know how dead a macro is but dead is a man dead is a door knob we are one of the most Lively churches in Pentecost but I got news for you it's Lively not because of our outward demonstration of worship it's strong because we're a word church we are a word of God Church I love all running I love spinning dancing jumping shouting I love all of that but that will never get the devil off your back the only thing that can silence the speaking serpent is the head of this church paved the way Jesus Christ the head of our church paved the way because when he was in the wilderness being tempted by the speaking Serpent and when the speaking serpent brought him Temptation after Temptation after Temptation Jesus didn't bring a choir out he didn't ask for the angels to drop down and sing a song he didn't ask for music to be played he didn't ask for anything like that he simply had the same phrase Satan it is written it is written if the devil is lying to you today the only thing that will shut the mouth of the speaking serpent is for you to read the word of God memorize the word of God know the word of God be acquainted with the word of God you need the word of God it's not enough that your pastor knows the word you've got to know the word of God job lost it all did he did he not he lost his health job lost his wealth he lost it all he comes down in job 23 and 8. job 23 and 8. job lost it all you got to see this job has lost it all he don't have his health he doesn't have his wealth he doesn't have his children and his own wife has told him why don't you just curse God die get out of your misery and job says this in verse 8 behold I go forward but he is not there can I ask anybody so can I ask his question today has any of you ever been going through a trial and in your mind set a date that you think you'd be out of it I don't think I'm alone Oh by this time next week we'll be out of this and how many of you ever got to this time next week or this time next month and you still wasn't out of it job said I go forward that he is not there he said I said a date that he I would be out of this at this time but when I got to that date he wasn't there and backward anybody ever lived in memories of past victories memories of past victories is a good place to visit but you can't live there but I cannot perceive him on the left hand where he does work behold and but behold I cannot Behold Him he hideth himself on the right hand that I cannot see him but he knoweth the way that I take can I tell you something when you don't know where you're at don't you ever fret one moment that God doesn't know where you're at when you don't know where you're at and you can't figure out God knows exactly where you're at he says but he knoweth the way that I take when he had tried me I shall come forth as gold my foot hath held his steps his way have I kept and not declined here's the key here's the key here's the key well if you've got a Bible like we should just raise it up right now neither have I gone back from the Commandments of his lips I esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food you know when you get hungry and you want to eat job said I'm going through a trial and when it gets the darkest let me find God's word when I'm going through a trial and it gets the heaviest let me open up God's word and I read the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want he leadeth me beside the Still Waters He restored my soul yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy stealth they comfort me surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever that's what's going to get you through can I tell you this word will do something that appeal can't do for you I said this word and do something for you that appeal can't do for you this word will do something for you that a drink can't do for you this word will do something for you that all of sins Pleasures can't do for you this word will satisfy you oh this word will satisfy I'll leave here today got the same burden I leave here today got the same problem that I'm satisfied I'm satisfied I'm the speaking The Four Seasons of the speaking serpent how in the world could Abraham offer up Isaac I tell you how he could offer him up is because God said out of Isaac shall come your descendants as the stars of the heavens and as the sand of the sea If Abraham was talking to himself in himself said Abraham if you kill him there's no more promise but there was another side that kicked in that said but God said you see there's really two of us today there's really two of you there's a there's a there's a carnal mind there's a fleshly mind there's a spiritual mind and the carnal mind says carnal mind says you can't afford to give spiritual mind says that he said give and it shall be given unto these pressed down shaken together and run it over the carnal mind says I've tried praise and worship it's not help me any spiritual side says keep it up he that endureth to the end Abraham how can you offer up Isaac I can tell you in a few short words God said God said I really wonder if you know how fearful you appear to the devil when you quote scripture I wonder if you could just really if I could just find a scripture today of what you look like to the devil when he speaks to you when he speaks to you and you speak back to him he speaks to you and tells you nothing's going to change and you speak back to him and say he that keepeth Israel never slumbers and never sleeps he speaks to you and he says your sins haven't been forgiven and you speak back to him and say I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ that causes him to cringe right there not Hare Krishna not Muhammad not Buddha I was baptized in the name of Jesus I was baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of my sins I wonder how we look to the devil when we begin to speak back to you we begin to to speak back to him I think I believe I found a scripture I believe I found it what we look like Psalms 149 and verse 6 Psalms 149 and verse 6. look at this I believe this is what you look like when you quote scripture back to him let the high praises of God be in their throat mouth let the high praises of God be in their mouth now I want to show you something if you have a Bible you may you may notice that Praises is italicized it was added by the translators to try to have a flow of this thought but sometimes an italicized word can take away from the true meaning what this literally means here is let the high of God be in their throat it is talking about something coming up from your belly through your throat the Bible says out of your belly shall flow Rivers of Living Water when you get the word this is why you're going to have to discipline yourself you're going to have to fight to keep your attention if you're wanting an Entertainer for a preacher number one you're short selling yourself out you don't need a comedian for a preacher the pulpit needs profits not clowns this is a sanctuary not a circus but you got a discipline yourself I gotta read the word I gotta read the word I gotta I gotta get it why cause I gotta get it deep down inside of me let the hype Praises of God be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand do you know what happens to me in the sight of the devil when I begin to quote scripture back to him when I begin to quote scripture back to him Satan said oh wait a minute something's about to come out of him something is about to come out of him and it's not going to be Fred it's not going to be weary something's about to come out of him and what comes out of my mouth is Satan it is return I have a two-edged sword in my head Satan it is written I'm gonna get your marriage no you're not God is the head of this home Satan it is written those children belong to me no they don't all scripture Ephesians chapter six I'm trying to figure out something I got I got three more seasons and not enough time Ephesians 6 and 11. I just want I want you to see what you look like when you quote scripture Ephesians 6 17 and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God can I tell you what we look like when we're before that television watching things we should not watch and I tell you this would be a good thing I just I just throw this out here just just for just for a thought if you're wondering whether it's bad or not call your pastor up and tell him to turn to that channel as a matter of fact let me go ahead and tell you this a lot of times you can know the devil's speaking to you by who he tells you not to go ask about it I mean if you're so right why don't you come bounce it off spiritual leaders why do you have to find people that are underneath your level of spirituality to bounce it off of I mean if the way you plan on living is so right why don't you come because after all the way I got this figured out in the Bible That's the book that I use is that one day your pastor the man that you place yourself under spiritually number one no Pastor no Pastor can make you submit submitting is something you have to give on your own but when you give it on your own the way I read this Bible is that one day I stand before God and I give an account for you and the Bible is telling you that you want you want me to be happy on that day when you stand before the Lord you want me to be happy because what's going to make me happy is you're obeying God right so if you're so right that little voice I said oh no no no no no no don't talk no no no don't don't talk to him no no no no no no no no no no no no go go talk to somebody on your job about it can I tell you that when you're in that room doing what you shouldn't be doing or you're listening you got those things in your ear and your your head banging I'm gonna tell you something else look at you saying easy pray easy pray easy pray easy pray easy pray all I got to do is a few weeks just put the right people or really the wrong people out in front of him and they're going to stumble they're going to fall that I want you to know something when you get up of the morning and you decide I'm just going to reach over keep my Bible handy you know and I miss uh oh you know all the gun owners in the house if you value your gun that you keep your gun in the dresser beside your bed do you have your Bible there too because your gun can take care of somebody's physical but this gun right here takes care of the ultimate listen our ultimate him come and steal my TV come and steal my car but there's one that's after my soul and and your rifle is not going to do it it's going to take the word second Timothy chapter 3 verse number 16 second Timothy chapter 3 verse number 16. all scripture I always somebody just say all with me how much you all know what the Greek word for all is oh oh scripture is given by inspiration of God this Greek word here inspiration is Breath of God Breath of God so scripture is the Breath of God no wonder Satan trembles when we quote scripture because God Is So Close That Satan can feel his breath on him all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable somebody say profitable for Doctrine that's not a bad word that's not a bad word I know we live in a religious world where Doctrine they believe in Doctrine there you know we do believe in Doctrine and you do too you believe in the doctrine of no Doctrine we believe in the doctrine of the Bible doctrine's not a bad word for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished into all good works can I tell you if you believe you're saved today the word will back it up I mean something as important as where you're going to spend eternity that's that place that's after you die there is life after death and you're going to spend eternity in either one of two places a place called hell or a place called heaven and you don't want to look in this book here and make sure that you're saved I didn't say make sure you're sincere there's a lot of people that are sincere that are not saved they're sincerely lost but that's where the church must do its job of not allowing the speaking serpents of our day to try to intimidate us and push us back and cause us to dumb down our message no in a thousand times no go to the Bible to find out a gentleman slipped up to me at Cracker Barrel here a while back he slipped up to my table very kind he slipped up to my table and he bit down and he said young man he was a quite older fella he said young man he said I enjoy hearing you preach he said but you said something the other night that I told the Lord if I ever saw you that I would I would tell you you were wrong you said that baptism saves people and he says baptism doesn't save people and he started to get up and I said sir I can tell you're very sincere and I can tell I said you you love your Bible oh yes I can see his eyelids kind of swelling up with tears oh yes I love my Bible I said you've just said a statement that your Bible says the very opposite of now I wouldn't argue because I would I'd never argue the Bible with anybody but I will defend it I will defend it I said sir you said something that's opposite what the Bible says the Bible says in First Peter 3 that Noah and the Ark was a light figure were unto baptism doth now save us I didn't say save that loud I save us and I said I hate for you to leave this table making a statement about the Bible like that and of course he didn't listen to me but anyway that's after all that's not my point right my point is I needed to tell him that that's my point you see the Bible all scripture is given for Doctrine every Doctrine this church has has got a scripture to back it up one God we believe in one God who manifested himself as the father of creation the son of redemption and the Holy Spirit in the church today Father Son Holy Ghost are not three separate persons they're three separate manifestations of one God not one time in the Bible does the Bible say Eternal Father and not one time in the Bible does the Bible say Eternal son why because there was a time that God was not a creator that God had not created the heavens and the Earth that we live on and there was a time that God had not become flesh the man Christ Jesus the only time the word Eternal is attached to one of those three Father Son and Holy Ghost is the Bible says who God through the eternal spirit father's not Eternal son is not Eternal but spirit is eternal because there has never been a time that God was not spirit for God is a spirit and God moved upon the face of the water and when God created the heavens and the Earth God became the father of creation and when man needed a savior God wrote himself in flesh Emmanuel God With Us mama mama I'm glad that I know who he is today I'm glad that I know who he is you say brother Carpenter isn't it weird Tit for Tat no it's not if you're accepting the third century Catholic definition of Trinity no it's not there's not three separate persons each of themselves God that's not in this book it's not in this book can I tell you today nowhere in this Bible nowhere in this Bible was anyone ever baptized saying the words I now baptize you in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Ghost nowhere nowhere you'll find her baptized in the name of Jesus and that's why when we baptize we baptize in the name of Jesus nowhere in the Bible you know I'm up my notes now but nowhere in the Bible was anybody ever baptized to show their following Christ nowhere in the Bible where they ever baptized and join a local church the purpose of immersing yes immersing people in water had a god-given purpose the water is a grave we are dead to Christ and we are buried with Christ he was buried in a tomb we're buried in the Tomb of baptism our sins have been remitted typologies when Pharaoh tried to come through the red sea water that made a pathway from Moses to escape made a tomb for pharaoh and all the sin my past Egypt is under the blood of Jesus today when I was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus my past sins were there Acts 2 musicians would you come if the Lord's will and if the Lord Wills if the Lord Wills brothers and sisters in her the Lord Wills if you all will come back tonight I'll finish the three other seasons of the serpent all right Lord willing thank God thank God thank God thank God thank God thank you thank you thank you Lord for your word god thank you Lord for your word oh God aren't you thankful for his word you're thankful for his word today but baptism is not that important it's not that important let me ask you a series of questions today will you stand with me right now please let me ask you a series of questions today was Saul was Saul saved when he was killing Christians right no Okay so sees a bright light knocks him office Beast he lays flat on the ground and he hears a voice saying Saul Saul why do you persecute me and Saul said who are you Lord can I ask another question was he saved then The Voice came back and said I am Jesus whom thou persecute us Saul isn't it hard for you to kick against the print the prick was a sharp spear-like instrument Farmers used to goad their animals to go on Saul you've been kicking against my spirit for some time then Saul said what will you have me to do Lord now be very careful salvation is a process as a matter of fact brother or I don't even consider myself saved right now I'm not going to consider myself saved till my feet touch goal folks it just keeps coming out of me justification is what happens when you're born again you've been Justified sanctification is a saint of justification justification takes sin out of you justification takes sin out of you repentance baptism remove sin out of you you then enter sanctification sanctification is helping you to deal and not become sinful again you're not wrapping yourself in a sinful environment again that's what sanctification means you're keeping yourself clean that that that means you there's activities you used to do before you you got born again you used to but you don't do those activities anymore because I want to stay away from that that's sanctification glorification is going to happen at the Rapture when he's going to separate us from sin there'll be no more sin over there 'll be no more sin over there so what will you have me to do Lord was he saved he's in the process he's in the process he goes down to a man's house goes down to a man's house and there he's three days without food fasting a man comes in by the name of ananias lays his hand on him and Paul is filled with the Holy Ghost but something happened there something happened ananias had to say so what are you waiting on what are you waiting on Saul arise and be baptized washing away your sins although he had a bright light from heaven and he told the
