Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Written for our learning

  • The lesson opens with 1 Corinthians 10: the fathers were under the cloud and passed through the sea, were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea, ate the same spiritual meat and drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them - and that Rock was Christ.
  • Verse 11 is pressed: all these things happened unto them for examples and are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come; Romans 15:4 adds that what was written aforetime was written for our learning, that through patience and comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 10:1-4; 1 Corinthians 10:11; Romans 15:4

Exodus 17: smite the rock

  • In the wilderness the people, finding no water, chide Moses and accuse him of bringing them out to die; Moses goes to the Lord.
  • God directs Moses to take the elders and the rod and smite the rock in Horeb, where God himself will stand; Moses obeys and water gushes out for the people to drink.
  • The typology is drawn out: Moses is a type of Christ, the rod is an instrument of punishment, the rock is a type of Christ, and from the smitten rock the water flows.

Scriptures: Exodus 17:5-6

Numbers 20: the Moses mistake

  • At the second thirst God changes the instruction: take the rod, gather the congregation, and SPEAK to the rock to bring forth its water.
  • Moses makes what the lesson calls the Moses mistake: chided by the people, he turns and speaks to the people instead of the rock - 'Hear now, ye rebels, must we fetch you water out of this rock?' - and smites the rock twice.
  • Water comes out abundantly, but God judges the disobedience: because they believed him not and sanctified him not before the people, Moses and Aaron shall not bring the congregation into the land. The end does not justify the means with God.

Scriptures: Numbers 20:9-12

Deuteronomy 3: the prayer God refused

  • Moses later prays to undo the sentence, rehearsing God's greatness and begging, 'Let me go over and see the good land that is beyond Jordan.'
  • God refuses: 'Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter'; Moses may climb Pisgah and view the land with his eyes, but he shall not go over this Jordan.

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 3:23-27

Speak to the rock: full obedience

  • Half obedience does not bring God's full blessing: the lesson presses tithing as the homely example - the tithe is ten; nine, or nine and a half, will not do.
  • Jesus takes up the rock's water in John 7: 'If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink' - but the blessing is conditioned: he that believes on him AS THE SCRIPTURE HATH SAID shall have rivers of living water flow from his belly.

Scriptures: John 7:37-38

Add not, diminish not

  • Deuteronomy 4 commands Israel to hearken and warns: 'Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it.'
  • Ecclesiastes 3:14 confirms the permanence of God's work: whatsoever God does shall be forever; nothing can be put to it and nothing taken from it, that men should fear before him.
  • Revelation 22:18-19 closes the canon with the same warning doubled: adding brings the plagues of the book; taking away forfeits one's part out of the book of life.

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Ecclesiastes 3:14; Revelation 22:18-19

Buried with him in baptism

  • Romans 6 answers sprinkling: the baptized are baptized into Christ's death and BURIED with him by baptism into death, that as he was raised, we also should walk in newness of life; sprinkling breaks the symbol - something dead is buried, not sprinkled.
  • Colossians 2 completes the picture: in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; believers are complete in him, circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, buried with him in baptism and risen with him through the faith of the operation of God.
  • Repentance is surrender, not mere commitment: the surrendered man signs away his rights and lets Christ direct his life.
  • The church of the second and third centuries had no authority to open God's package and change burial in water and the name of Jesus for sprinkling and titles: the lesson illustrates it with a friend's gift box for his granddaughter Paris, opened in transit, its good contents stolen and worthless things substituted.

Scriptures: Romans 6:1-4; Colossians 2:7-12

A baptism in Jesus' name tonight

  • Brother Nichols and his family, lately moved here from California after watching the Apostolic Connection, learned that his earlier baptism had used the titles rather than the name of Jesus; he has asked to be baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of his sins.
  • The invitation is extended to anyone else present who needs to be baptized in the name of Jesus.

are come romans chapter 15 and verse number four romans chapter 15 and verse number four brother erickson if you go help them if we have any help i'm going to be reading some very important scripture this evening it's written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the scripture may have hope for a few moments on this evening i think it's going to be very exciting here at the end but i want to simply teach a lesson from moses a lesson a lesson from moses would you put your bibles down and would you join me in prayer right now let's pray all over this building would you pray with me right now in the name of the lord jesus god we come before tonight god just be with us lord god be with us this evening god be with us lord tonight touch god we give you the praise lord we can't be saved without the word lord help us to pay attention tonight lord i don't believe it's children of god that it should be the man's personality that should cause us to pay attention lord i love thy word this evening god and i want to be saved lord by your word lord touch us tonight in jesus name we pray amen amen you may be seated tonight i understand we've got some technical difficulties so you might want if you didn't bring your bible you might want uh to scoot over beside someone because we're going to be reading some verses of scripture as we make this journey a lesson a lesson from moses a lesson from moses now according to first corinthians 10 and 11 and romans 15 and verse 4 we have the old testament as our history it is written for us to learn from it is it is written we have the old testament it is it is there it is it is written it is written for us to learn paul said in first corinthians 10 and 11 these things are written for our admonition they are written they are written for our admonition and then it's got a sobering thought it says upon whom that's us the ends of the world are come so god has allowed the old testament to be written to us today things that happened to them as an example and for you and i to look at it tonight in 2021 and for us to begin to learn from this and so this lesson from moses as i uh read first corinthians 10 1-4 talked about he didn't want us to be ignorant about the spiritual analogy or the type and shadow of what happened to them for it says in first corinthians 10 and 1 i would not have you to be ignorant how that all of our fathers were under the cloud and all pass through the sea he said now there's a spiritual analogy that they were brought out of egypt by a cloud and of course this cloud represents the spirit of god and then it says that they all pass through the sea verse 2 they were all baptized it's a word that we use very often they were all baptized unto moses now this baptism was unto moses in the cloud they had a baptism unto moses that was in the cloud the spirit and in the sea in the water and they did all drink the same or they did all eat excuse me of the same spiritual meat they had manna and quail and paul refers to it as spiritual meat we understand today what our spiritual meat is is the word our spiritual meat where we get all of the nutrients for our health for our body for our energy is through the word verse 4 and did all drink of that same spiritual drink for they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them and that rock was christ so he's just he just he's just mapping all this old testament typology how that moses was a type of jesus christ the cloud was a type of the spirit of god going through the red sea was a type of baptism uh the spiritual meat is a type of the word of god and that that drink is a type of that salvation that salvation that we have in jesus christ our lord but there's a lesson tonight that i want to tie together and uh it's in the book of exodus it begins there in the book of exodus chapter 17 and verse 5. now the children of israel were making their way from egypt to the promised land and along the way there was a wilderness of testing god was developing their faith god was testing them and god was causing them to grow stronger in him so that they would rely upon they would rely upon him in exodus chapter 17 and verse 5 and 6 has to do with they got out to where they had no water sister holland there was there was no water and so the people reverted to murmuring they got it they got in a difficult place they got in a difficult place and they they reverted to murmuring they said such things to moses they begin to chide him they they begin to to a better word would just be to antagonize him and they begin to say things to him like uh you know why did you bring us out why have you brought us out in other words they were basically saying you don't know what you're doing you don't know where we're going we've been better off that we would have died in egypt than you to come out here and they begin to they begin to chide moses well moses went to the lord moses went to the lord and in exodus 17 verse number 5 it says and the lord said unto moses go on before the people and take with the take with thee of the elders of israel and thy rod wherewith thou smotest the river take in thine hand and go behold i will stand before thee there upon the rock in horeb and thou shalt smite the rock and there shall come out water of it that the people may drink and moses did so in the sight of the elders of israel now can you imagine that they're chatting him and god says now i want you to take that rod that same rod that divided that red sea and i want you to take some elders with you and i want you to go to this particular rock and he says i'm going to stand at that rock i want you to take your rod and i want you to smite the rock with your rod and when it does when you do there's going to come water gushing out of this rock moses followed the direction of the lord he took a handful of elders he took that rod in his hand and as foolish as foolish brother dave as it seemed as foolish as it seemed he goes up to this rock he takes his rod and he smites the rock when he smote the rock with the rod all of a sudden water began gushing out as a matter of fact archaeologists have discovered the rock and they have discovered an unusual erosion they have discovered divots in the in the rock formations and they said these divots could have only been caused by some time in this dry desert there was an unbelievable amount of water that gushed through here of course we understand that it did water came out and the people drank now the spiritual typology here is that moses is an old testament type of jesus christ the rod has always been used in the bible as an instrument of punishment it's an instrument of punishment the rod is an instrument to punish with several verses of scripture bear this out it's the rod of man i will chastise you with the rod of men so we understand that moses was a type of jesus christ the rock was a type of christ paul's already established that that the rock was a type of jesus christ and so when the rod of man crucified the lord jesus christ from his side from that rock flowed this water some time would go by they would travel again and they would come right back around not to the same place but they'd come right back around to a situation of which they would thirst and once again once again guess what they reverted back to murmuring murmuring would to god you to lift us alone and you know it's amazing hard times can sometimes erase good times sometimes spiritual darkness can sometimes cause us to have amnesia of what god has done for us and instead of just standing there and saying you know what god gave us water in the middle of the desert moses smote a rock and water came out now i don't believe that they understood the spiritual significance i don't believe they understood the spiritual significance of this i don't i don't believe they i don't believe they understood that at all but god was putting this together because remember what i read you tonight all these things were for our example right upon whom the end of the world has come and so they get right back in this predicament and once again the people are chatting moses and and and you don't know what you're doing as a leader and you you you know you're this and you're that and and and you don't know we're just going in circles and on and on they went and again in numbers now this time turn to numbers chapter 20 verse number 9. this time again in numbers chapter 20 and verse number 9 and moses took the rod from before the lord as he commanded him and moses and aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock and said unto them here now ye rebels must we fetch you water out of the rock now here's the problem i call it the moses mistake it's what i call it the moses mistake because what god had told moses god had said moses i want you to take the rod i want you to take the rod but this time i want you to go to the rock and i want you to speak to the rock moses i want you to speak to the rock and tell the rock to bring out water that's what i want you that's what i want you to do i want you to speak to the rock but watch what happened the people begin chiding moses the people begin you don't know what you're doing and and would to god that we were doing something else but here with you right now and the bible says that moses made what i refer to as the moses mistake the bible says in verse 10 moses gathered the congregation together the lord said do that before the rock the lord said do that and he said unto them the lord didn't say that the lord did not say moses speak to the people he said to speak to the rock many times we grow astray when we hear the voice of god with one ear telling us what to do and we begin to talk to the people instead of what god said so now moses turns his attention to the people and he says he says here now you rebels must we fetch you water out of the rock and moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smote the rock twice and the water came out abundantly and the congregation drank and their beast also and the lord now now has moses done what god said to do no god did not say smite the rock he said speak to the rock well you said brother carpenter water came out what does it matter matters to god because it was old testament typology and moses because he got to talking to the people was led astray and instead of speaking to the rock he smoted now if we stop right there you can just say well hey after all right after all doesn't the ends justify the means it doesn't really matter how we get there as long as we get there right not to god yes water came out but listen to the lord in verse number 12 and the lord spake unto moses and aaron and the lord spake unto moses and aaron because he believed me not to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of israel therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which i have given them look at the penalty moses and aaron your life dream was to step foot in canaan but because you have disobeyed and you have you have tampered with typology you have tampered you have tampered with typology i will allow you as a matter of fact as a matter of fact moses even prayed a prayer later on moses prayed a prayer to try to erase this mistake he prayed a prayer it's recorded in deuteronomy chapter 3 verse 23 he prayed a prayer listen to it with me later on he later on he regretted that he had made that mistake later on he thought man why did i why did i smite that rock i should have just spoke to that rock the rock would have gave its water he later prayed deuteronomy 3 23 and i've assaulted the lord at that time saying oh lord god thou hast begun to show thy servant thy greatness in thy mighty hand for what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do according to thy works and according to thy might i pray thee watch him now watch i pray thee let me go over and see the good land that is beyond jordan and the goodly mountain and lebanon he said god would you not forgive me lord would you not let me go over i mean moses this is moses asking god can i not go over god and the bible says in verse 26 but the lord was wroth with me for your sakes and would not hear me and the lord said unto me let it suffice thee speak no more unto me on this matter get thee up into the top of pisgah and lift up thine eyes west spurting northward and southward and eastward and behold it with thine eyes for thou shalt not go over this jordan well wow and all he did was he smote the rock when he should have spoken to that rock you see this evening what i'm wanting to uh what i am wanting with all my heart to embed in your life is that half obedience doesn't bring god's full blessings we'll say well you know well let's just take the subject of tithing tithing is 10 all right tithing is 10 can i just ask you do you think 9 would do come on night come on come on nine i mean nine's almost ten okay okay we got some hard nosers here nine and a half am i right no no honey chuck's mama come on now come on i'm talking about nine nine and a half nine and a half just tell god nine and a half if god keeps a man from going into the promised land over a simple act he should have spoke to it now what's these things written for we go back to the very beginning what why do we even have this story here huh for what for our learning right so when we read this we gotta understand when we start tampering with god and we start giving god less than four percent i'm not necessarily talking about tithing there's a whole lot more to living with god just tithing talking about your whole heart i'm talking about i'm talking about giving god your whole heart not part of it not not a wednesday night not a wednesday night cute little hand waves and a few little hand claps and all that i'm talking about your whole heart well moses represented jesus christ and the rod represented what they did to him moses was to speak to the rock moses was to lead the old testament now follow this now the old testament was to introduce us to christ moses was to speak to the rock and the people hear it and be led be led to the rock let's let's look at this let's look at this and and hopefully maybe if you're watching tonight or you're here tonight and you're new to the apostolic doctrine this will help you to understand why we are dogmatic about following the full command of god's word jesus in john chapter 7 verse number 37 jesus spoke jesus spoke john 7 37 and he said it says and in the last day that great day of the feast jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst what came out of the rock water came out if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink the rock was christ if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink verse 38 follow this very closely he that believeth on me what's these next five words please as the scripture hath said he that believeth on me as the scripture hath said not just any way we live in a culture today that we're battling people say well well you know god understands a lot of times people that don't know scripture will refer to the man upstairs he's not the man upstairs at least he's not to us he may be to a world that doesn't believe in absolutes but when jesus got to talking about getting that water out of that rock he said you have to believe on me as the scripture has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water isn't that amazing that moses was not allowed to go into canaanland because he smoked when he should have spoke and jesus says if you want this living water there is a prerequisite and that is you've got to believe on me as the scripture has said church how will we know the scripture if we don't study the scripture i'm going to tell you this is why a lot of people a lot of young people that are raised on our pews can find themselves in a church that doesn't fully embrace truth it's because when it became time to go to school they were too busy with other things in the classroom and not listening for what the scripture has said he that believeth me on as a scripture has said well how important is the scripture go back to deuteronomy chapter 4 for a moment just how important is our scripture is the scripture deuteronomy 4 and verse number 1 god says now therefore hearken o israel unto the statues and unto the judgments which i teach you for to do them that you may live and go in and possess the land which the lord god of your fathers giveth you watch verse 2 very closely listen to god ye shall not add unto the word which i command you neither shall you diminish ought from it that you may keep the commandment of the lord your god which i command you god says i want to i want you to know something about my word don't you add anything to my word don't add anything to my word don't you diminish don't you take away any of the word don't add to it don't add to it and don't take away don't don't don't add to it and don't take away and we we live in a world today that got a nice little commercial that comes on tv advertising the book of mormon and it even makes it even makes a a statement that the bible's a good book but there's other writings there's other writings that are just as qualified as a bible church don't add to it we have enough right in this bible to save us don't don't don't don't add anything don't add anything from this book and then don't take anything out of this book how serious is it ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse number 14 ecclesiastes 3 and verse 14. listen to the wisest man besides jesus christ ever live he says in ecclesiastes 3 14 i know that whatsoever god doeth it shall be forever nothing can be put to it neither anything taken from it god doeth it that men should fear before him he said when god does something it's perfect don't let man add anything to we don't have to perfect anything that god has already perfected and he said don't you take anything away from it that the fear of the lord would be in you now church family tonight as the bible is winding down john the revelator is told about all of the signs of the end of time the 22nd chapter is being written god in heaven is about to say the final words and the final word is surely i come quickly would you not agree with me tonight that some of the final verses in the bible inspired by the holy ghost would be something that was on god's mind well it was all on god's mind but could you feel with me an urgency tonight that as god is inspiring john to write the last few verses of the bible that it's all important but would you not agree with me that there's an urgency in those last few verses i tell you the verses right before surely i come quickly is revelation 22 19 or excuse me 18 and 19. they're just right before the end just right before the end i don't want you to miss this tonight i don't want you to miss this tonight verse 18 for i testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book if any man shall add unto these things god shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book sounds serious doesn't it he says if you add anything to this prophecy god will bring the plagues that are written in this book verse 19. we're coming to the end and if any man shall take away sound familiar if any man shall take away what are we living in the last days are we not seeing a left and a right an extreme right an extreme left are we not seeing an extreme adding to and an extreme taking away if any man shall shall take away from the words of the prophecy of this book god shall take away his part out of the book of life i don't know what people that believe in the erroneous doctrine of once saved always saved that once you get saved there's nothing you can ever do to save yourselves well evidently it's not the book that's right thank you brother triple it's not in the book evidently there is at least one thing you can do if it takes salvation to put you in the book of life then evidently you can be brought out of the book of life how is that by adding to god's word or taking away taking away from god's word it sounds like to me that god wants us to obey his word sounds like to me that when god says i want you to speak to the rock he wants you to speak to the rod we done established now are we are we established on this tonight tithe is ten percent right you don't you you think god god if it's nine god would understand right not according to the god of the scripture what about sprinkling for baptism what about sprinkling um what about sprinkling or infant baptism well what's wrong with spring what's wrong with sprinkling what what's wrong with it what's wrong with i mean after all does god know what's on your inside what's wrong with sprinkling what come on you can talk back to him at night come on set it's not according to scripture right he said speak to the rock he said well romans let's go to the scripture romans chapter six verse number one romans chapter six verse number 1 what shall we say then shall we continue in sin that grace may abound god forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein no you not that so many of us as were baptized into jesus christ were baptized into his death look at verse four therefore we are sprinkled with him we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of life the problem is this county probably there's probably in the hundreds of churches that are in this county and i'm talking about burying in water which say amen and if i begin to teach sprinkling as a form of baptism they would raise up and say well you know that's not the way to baptize and you know what they're right they're right it's burial look at colossians chapter 2 colossians chapter 2 verse number 7 colossians two and verse number seven paul says rooted built up in him established in the faith as you have been taught abounding therein with thanksgiving beware be beware lest any man spoil the word spoil means to take away from you beware list any man spoil you through philosophy vain to see after the tradition of men after the rudiments of the world and not after christ for in him for in him who christ for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the godhead bodily and ye are complete in him which is the head of all principality and power in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of christ buried with him in baptism wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of god who hath raised him from the dead it's symbolic it is symbolic the reason that we don't sprinkle is that sprinkling would fail up the symbol of baptism we are buried because something has died we have we are buried because something has died the sinner has died it's called repentance the sinner has died he is dead he's not gone out to lunch he is dead to sin he is absolutely you know and even in my lifetime we have seen a changing of words 40 years ago we preached from our pulpits surrender to christ surrender to god but guess what the word surrender has been replaced with now you need to make a commitment you need to be committed you need to be committed no when you surrender you lose all your rights when you surrender you you stand as the japanese did on the deck of that ship and you sign away any of your rights i i i signed away all my rights jesus i'm yours you tell me what to do you tell me how to live you tell me what i need to do here and what i need to do there because i have surrendered to you i submit to you that we got too many people committed to jesus and not surrendered to jesus when you when you repent you're dead and you always bury something's dead and when you sprinkle it messes with the typology it messes with the typology of a burial repentance death water baptism grave tomb spiritual baptism resurrection and i just want you to know that i love catholic people i love all denominations i love all denominal people but i do not agree at all with their doctrine the roman catholic church had no authority in the second and third century to change the mode of baptism from burial and water and in the name of jesus christ do you not fear does not the roman catholic church violate what's what god said i don't care how pretty their buildings are i don't care how morally good they are and how i've got a good person i've got a good catholic person that works with me on my job good witness to them but their denomination had no right in the second and third century to change the apostles way of baptizing using the name jesus christ to repeating the words father son and holy ghost don't care how you cut it that's adding two as a matter of fact that's a double charge that's taking something out and adding something to right right they had no authority to do that they had absolutely no authority to change that you said what's wrong with it they had no authority to change it and the bible says god says well we say i want to brother carpenter aren't we saying the same thing you know jesus father son holy ghost jesus you try telling moses hey what you thinking the same thing when you're up there smiling that rock wasn't you thinking about talking no smiting is not talking and titles is not a name it's not a name i'll just share this with you and i'm gonna go right and we'll go right into something that's very exciting when paris was born brother david poole from louisiana my dear friend his district superintendent now but him as him and his wife went to dillard's they had all kinds of of evan they had all kinds of little baby outfits embroidered with paris's name on it they put all kinds of nice things in a box and they went to a little post office in manifest louisiana and they put that box the postal system when that box arrived when that box arrived at my house in tennessee i opened it up i saw it was from the pool and i opened it up there was a leather black harley-davidson hat in that box there was some baby clothes but i will tell you they would have fit a two or three-year-old and they were even stained there was a cheap t-shirt in there advertising somebody's car wash in louisiana we opened it up looked at it i never called brother pool i never called him and said hey thanks for the harley hat you know hey thanks for those clothes baby clothes we're gonna wash them and and and when paris gets about three more years old we're gonna she's gonna wear them all right so sister or we didn't i didn't we didn't say anything we didn't send normally we send a thank you card we didn't send a thank you card i mean after all how do you say thanks for that so about a month went by and brother poole called me and he said hey bro carpenter's calling you and how did y'all like the things that that that my wife and i sent we we just hoping it got there how'd y'all like the things and and i said uh well brother pooles let me tell you uh the box got here and it had a a leather harley-davidson hat and had a extra-large t-shirt advertising smash car wash in louisiana he said hey man he said that ain't what we put in there he said we've had all kinds of baby clothes from dillard's we had embroidered things we had i even i think they even had a a gift card a gift a gift card in there and and all that he said hey man somebody opened that mail and you know what that's exactly what happened somewhere between manifest louisiana and marvel tennessee some authorized criminal got a hold of something that didn't belong to him and they opened it up and they took out the good stuff and they put in all this bad stuff he said why are you telling that story because i'm going to tell you something the church was born on the day of pentecost and it was established on the apostles doctrine but that doctrine was to travel down to us here tonight but somewhere around the second and third century men that did not have the authority opened up a package water baptism out they took water baptism out they they took they took burial they took all of that out they did not have the authority they took it out and they took the name of jesus and baptism out and they took full immersion out and they said go ahead and sprinkle and they took the name out and they said now we've got a doctrine that's unknown to the bible both old and new testament and that is called a trinity that is god in three persons and we're going to put that doctrine in that box we're going to seal it up and the problem is many good people have accepted this mail and have not read the word of god they have not read the word of god but i've come tonight to tell you it does matter it does matter i i think the greatest christmas gift we could rally to tonight is truth thank god for truth thank god that we have the truth now brother nichols would you come up here tonight come on and we're going to insist erickson bring the bring the the the the the instruments and the singers brother nichols and his family have been watching from california they were born raised in california and they've been watching the apostolic connection they have been watching the web brother nichols moved his family here and um you couldn't ask for a better family than this they're faithful mom and dad and all the children they're faithful god loving god-fearing people brother nichols his family attended a church in california that hasn't always baptized in jesus name hasn't always baptized in jesus name for some time they baptized using the catholic formula of saying father son and holy ghost and then sometime later they got the revelation to baptize in the name of jesus christ now they believed in receiving the gift of the holy ghost and god gave their church that revelation some time ago brother nichols was talking to his mother and his mother informed him no you weren't baptized in jesus name he said that's was a little later that we we changed and went to jesus name said you were baptized under the unto the father son and holy ghost brother nichols came to me and asked me i need to be baptized brother carpenter i need to be baptized in jesus name brother carpenter you know what he does need to be baptized in jesus name he does need to be baptized in jesus name and i want i want to challenge anyone in this building if you came from a church and and a lot of times they'll tell you they baptize in jesus name you need to ask more than just that question is it for the remission of my sins are you baptizing me in the name of jesus for the remission of my of my sin it's not it's not just to say you've been baptized in jesus name and i believe that god has honored what this man has and has brought him to this point and he and i as you stand right now and gather up around the altar he and i is gonna go get ready and i'm gonna baptize brother nichols tonight and anybody else that would like to be baptized in jesus name you make your way up come on church family why don't you come and give god praise for the truth tonight
