I want you to give God a good praise right now in this house for God is a faithful God God is a good god he is the only true and almighty God his word never fails his word never fails glad to be established on his word tonight his word his word never fails greetings in the name name of Jesus to everybody tonight and it's so good to be in the house of the Lord on a Sunday evening to make a joyful sound un him and I love to get together with God's people that know how to have church there's one thing that you know how to do there's many things you know how to do quite well but there's one thing that exceeds it all you folks here in marville know how to have church you know how to have church and I was quite pleased tonight to look at a group of just young people young children that's right that have come up around the altars to worship God you you say what you think about that brother carber I think it's all right I I think it's all right matter of fact I believe it's Bible the Bible says train up a child and the way you would have it to go and I don't know any better way than I would want him to go but be worshiping the Lord and I I appreciate that so very very much tonight I want you to turn with me in your Bibles to the Book of Exodus chapter number 33 verse number 12 and what a joy it is to minister to the word of God what a joy it is to be in the house of the Lord what a joy it is to have guests here and what a joy it is this morning one precious Soul baptized in jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost and uh just great reports coming from across the Church of what God is doing and I praise the Lord I praise the Lord for that I I do want you to understand something about my behavior sometimes and and and I always want the church to know I have people come up and they'll say well carpent we're praying for you are are you feeling good are you feeling well well let me let me tell you let me just tell you a little bit about about if you're if you're making that statement based on you look over and you see me during worship maybe not being as adamated as I as I could be you see I think the older you get the the wiser you get or I think you should get wiser as you get older and um I realize that that that I have a certain amount of strength um and when I have that certain amount of strength I have to pace myself out uh I I have to know what's um what's a benefit to me and what's a benefit to you and u i was privileged uh Friday to fly to Michigan and uh hold their District elections for them and preach Friday night and I was privileged to get up Saturday morning in Michigan and preach again Saturday morning in Michigan and be rushed to the airport to get home and I was privileged to stand here this morning and minister to you and how many are glad to know that he is both the almighty God and he's fully man I'm so thankful for that and then I was privileged this afternoon sister carpent and I to go south to Madisonville and to preach at the new church there that started First Apostolic Church of Madisonville and I was privileged to be there and preach at the 2:30 service knowing that I would be back here tonight at 6 o00 and wanted to preach wanted to preach tonight I just know the level of my strength and so I'm feeling great I'm feeling fine and uh I'm ready to preach tonight I'm ready to preach preach tonight are you ready for the word and Moses said unto the Lord see thou sayest unto me bring up this people and thou Hast not let me know whom thou will send with me yet thou Hast said I Know Thee by name and thou Hast also found Grace in my sight now therefore I pray thee if I have found Grace in thy sight show me now thy way that I may Know Thee that I may find Grace in thy sight and consider that this nation is thy people and God said my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest and he said unto him Moses says back to God if thy presence go not with me carry us not up hence for wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found Grace in thy sight is it not in that thou goest with us so so shall we be separated I am thy people from all the people that are upon the face of the earth and the Lord said unto Moses I will do this thing also that thou has spoken spoken for thou Hast found Grace in my sight and I Know Thee by name and he said Moses says back to God I beseech Thee I beg you I beseech you I beg you show me thy glory and he said I will make all my goodness pass before thee and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show Mercy on whom I will show mercy and he said God says Thou cast not see my face for there shall no man see me and live and the Lord said behold there is a place by me and thou shalt stand upon the rock and it shall come to pass while while my Glory passeth by I will put thee in the Cliff of The Rock and will cover thee only will cover thee with my hand while I pass by and I will take away my hand and thou shalt see my back Parts but my face shall not be seen want to go back to verse 21 that's where I'm going to get my title for tonight a place by me a place by me would you put your Bibles down and close your eyes and ask God tonight to minister to you as I preach the word father I thank you tonight for the high awesome privilege of being a preacher I thank you God for the high awesome privilege God of sharing your lifechanging word Lord many hearts are here tonight that need to be touched God many minds are here tonight that need to receive a revelation of your goodness and how good you are Lord I pray tonight that you would strengthen and I pray tonight God that you would help me to minister the word Lord I'll give you the praise and the honor and the glory for it is in the name of Jesus Christ we pray amen and amen as you're seated give God a hand of praise and let it be a good hand of Praise oh thank you God for your word oh thank you God for your word Moses feels the incredible pressure of leading the children of Israel out of bondage but not just out of bondage but leading them across the Wilderness and leading them into Canaan land a land of promise a land that flows with milk and with honey but that pathway from Egypt to Canaan was a pathway that one had to totally be submersed in the dependence of God they had to have a complete to total dependency upon upon God it was somewhere between Egypt and Canaan that Moses begins to feel the weight of the burden the leader Moses begins to feel the weight of the burden and somewhere between Egypt and Canaan Moses has this prayer with God and Moses begins to say to God okay God you've brought me out you've brought us out but you've not really unfolded the plan you've not really showed me all that there is to this plan and he begins to to Moses begins to ask God to show him some signs that that he can have confidence that he's going the right way and leading the right way and finally God seems to drop a few bread crumbs of nuggets for Moses to chew on one of the first that he gave to Moses he said Moses my presence will go with you my presence will go with you I'm thinking of the old song right now and I hope that you feel the same way if I ever did need the Lord before I sure do need him now I sure do need him now I sure do need him now Moses is told by God well my presence is going to go with you and you can tell in Moses's response back to God that he was thankful but yet he's still not satisfied for he simply asks he simply makes the statement back God if your presence doesn't go don't carry us up and I can say Amen to that I don't want to go anywhere God's presence is not going I I I don't want to be any place that God's presence amen I don't want to be any place that God's presence and he says God if you don't if you don't go I I I don't want I I don't I don't care that the land flows with milk and honey Lord if you're not there L Lord I don't care if there's houses I haven't built and Wells I haven't dug and Vineyards I haven't eaten if you're not there for God what what good would all of that Prosperity be God if you're not there and so he says God just don't don't don't don't carry don't carry us up but he did say this he said God having your presence Among Us is that defining thing that lets all the other nations know that we're not an ordinary people God your presence Among Us Moses is saying is that one distinctive thing that causes all the nations around us to know that we're different because God you are with us and so he goes on in the scripture reading and he's telling God but he comes to verse 18 and now he just lays it out on the table in verse number 18 of chapter 33 he just lays it out in the TA on the table and really it could have been a Short scripture read if Moses would have just told God what he wanted he says in verse 18 I beg you I beseech you that's what that word beseech means it means I beg you I beg you God Show Me Your Glory I I just beg you God show me the end of this thing Show Me Your Glory show me what it will look like tomorrow show me what it will look like show me what it'll look like a year from now show me oh God show me now God that land of milk and honey show me now God the house that I wouldn't build and the I didn't build and show me the well that I didn't dig show me The Vineyards I didn't plant God just Show Me Your Glory tomorrow show me today what you're going to give me in the future but let me tell you this it's very simple why God doesn't show us why we live by God moment by moment for if God would show us the end we would not have trust to get to the end the only way I'm going to make it to the end is to trust right now that he is a living God he is a good god he's never forsaken any of us he's never been evil to any of us he's never showed partiality to any of us he is a good god and I want you to serve him I want you to love him I beg you God just Show Me Your Glory and it was as if God answered and God said all right Moses he said I am going to make my goodness pass before Thee I will Proclaim my name unto thee and then he says in verse number 21 or 20 and he says I need to tell you as I am prepping you for this he said you cannot see my face face for there shall no man see me and live in other words there's a lot of typology here I'm not going to show you the future Moses I'm not going to show you the future you're going to have to believe my word for your future I'm not going to give you a vision I'm not going to give you a dream I'm not going to give you a 360 of the promised land you're you're going to have to trust my word in church family tonight let me tell you about God's word from Genesis to the Book of Revelation every bit is true there's not one promise Solomon said there's not one promise of God's word that has ever failed God has kept every word that he has ever spoken he is a faithful God Moses I'm not showing you my face I'm not showing you the future but he said this in verse 21 he said and the Lord said behold there is a place by me I'm going to tell you something God has a place to where we can stand with him and we can build our trust with him you see brother Nolan made reference tonight to the wonderful young man that excels in the sport of golf he made he made reference the young man's father is here with him tonight and he made reference to him but I got news for you that man got that young man got skilled at golf because he worked practic at a certain place called a golf course right that's how he got good he had a place that he would go to and he worked and he honed his skills until he's exceptional in the sport of golf but he would not be exceptional if he hadn't found a place to go to and that may I add quite frequently go to just like that that analogy tonight is the same way you and I become the sons and daughters that God intends for us to be God has a place for his people and this house of God is one of those places it's one of those places that God has for you and I I thank God for this house tonight I thank God for this place tonight I don't take this place for granted I thank God tonight that we can come to the house of the Lord I Thank God tonight that I am I am I am living my life on the shoulders of generations that's went on before me that has kept the fire of Pentecost burning they have kept the doctrine alive they have kept don't don't pat me on the back about about the doctrine I wouldn't know the doctrine if somebody before me hadn't kept the doctrine alive tonight he is dead and gone now but Dr wa chriswell was one of the presidents of the Southern Baptist Church he also pastored the legendary First Baptist Church of Dallas Texas I listened to Dr chriswell preach a convention one time and was amazing he was brother ericon he was 90 something years old when they had him preach this convention and he told as a young boy growing up in Dallas Texas that on one corner was the Baptist Church and on the other corner and he named the different denom ations that were there and the churches were arranged that they created a certain square a certain little spa space like a Town Square where they kind of all dumped out into the Town Square and I heard Dr chriswell say as a Young Man sister P he said as a young boy I can remember that on Sunday nights the door of our churches would burst open and it wasn't any anything uncommon for the Baptists to dance out into the square and the Methodist to dance out in the square and the different denominations to dance out in the square and I'm not throwing because I could add Pentecost I could add Pentecost to that tonight but I am so thankful this evening on a Sunday night in the year of 2023 that dancing and worship and praising is not obsolete it is not something that only happens ever great once in a while I thank God there is a place for us just like there's a place for that young man to hone his golfing skills to be the best there is a place for us to come and worship Our God and it's all about eternity I'm going to heaven church and God has a place for us somebody give him some praise come on somebody give him some praise tonight this is not an exercise and futility I'm working on going to heaven I'm working on walking on streets of go a place a place a place I won't call them the the the person's name but I pastured a wonderful family for many years and decades and they found themselves here because they were told at the church they were going they made a statement about the church building being too small and they were crammed in a small building and they were going to build another building and one of them said be glad to get in the building so we can have some AIS running and some dancing only to be reprimanded by leadership to say oh there'll be none of that go on here thank you you blessed us as one of the most blessed families in all the world because we believe in doing it decently in order but we do believe that goes on here and it goes on here because it's in the Bible and it's an expression of our worship and our praise to God and it's a free choice freedom God says I want you to lift my hands and we just come and say God you don't have to give me a vision of me lifting my hands you just tell me in this word to lift my hands and I'm going to sing you don't have to give me a vision of singing you just have to tell me it's in the word to sing I'm going to sing I'm going to shout I'm going to praise God why because it's in God's word Show Me Your Glory Show Me Your Glory can somebody say Amen tonight God said Moses I want you to come up here I've got a place by you I got a place excuse me I've got a place by me and I want you to come up here Moses and I want you to stand up on the Rock and I'm going to put my hand over the cliff of The Rock and as I put my hand over the Clift of the rock verse 22 I'm going to while my glory passes by I will put thee in the Cliff of the Cliff of The Rock and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by and I will take away my hand and thou shalt see my back Parts but my face shall not be seen now let me tell you what we what we're looking at here Moses wrote the history of creation Moses wrote day one day two day three day four day five day six day seven Moses wrote All That how did Moses write it because God said I'm going to inspire you to go into the future by showing you my goodness of the past can I tell you tonight that as long as the sun shines it's a testimony and an evangelist to the faithfulness of our God when the moon comes up when the Sun goes down it is a testimony of the Covenant making of God every Seas season that we go through is a testimony of the created goodness of our God now I know that there's people today that are trying to inundate us with global warming and all of this I do think we need to take care of our planet I do think we need to take care of our planet but you won't cut enough trees down to knock creation out of whack you won't lay enough asphalt to knock creation out of whack you can believe believe science if you want to but I choose to believe the Bible the Sun is going to shine until the creator of the sun says shine no more the moon is going to reflect until the creator of the Moon says reflect no more seasons are going to come until the Creator says oh how good so he shows us how we ought to depend upon the future by showing us the goodness of the Past come on now the goodness of the past was that he saved us the goodness of the past is that he delivered us the goodness of the past is that he allowed our ears to hear the message of the Born Again experience Oh Praise be unto God the goodness of the past is somebody got to us and told us about the wonderful god-given experience of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost there is nothing comparable to being filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost nothing has ever been compared with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost can somebody praise him right now I thank God for the gift of the Holy goes do we have anybody in here tonight I'm not talking about future tense I'm talking I'm talking in your past is there anybody in here tonight been healed anybody been healed anybody been physically healed about been emotionally healed you see I can't tell your story but I sure can tell mine and mine really has a meaning to me because it was before before I was born again before before I stopped cussing before I stopped sinning before when I was a heathen sinner boy I had a ruptured eardrum all my life my childhood memories are filled with earaches and I can remember the the treatment was to take back then we didn't have microwaves and all that but we would take a towel and we would lay it in the oven and let it heat that towel up and I would go to sleep laying on that pill on that towel that warm seemed to throb and that warmth seemed to help me go to sleep many mornings I would wake up and that towel had a bunch of infection that was on that towel that had dripped out of my ear my my hair many mornings would be matted from the infection that dripped out of my ear but I was about 16 years old and my mother took took me to get an an exam and the doctor said he said this young man somewhere in his life has had a ruptured ear drum and it's ruptured so much to the place that it'll never heal the reason he has infection it's trying to cover up the ear drum and it's trying to heal itself but the hole in his eard drum is too gaping it'll never heal itself we got to do a skin graft we got to take skin and graft it around the ear he'll lose a lot of his hearing but the infection will go away but before we can schedule him for surgery to do the ear to do the skin graph he's got to take these antibiotics and clear up the infection and then we can see to do the skin graph my mother took me I was not going to church at that time I was not filled with the Holy Ghost at that time I was not serving God at that time I was a sinner at that time she took me by the Knoxville church and my pastor future pastor would anoint me with oil I'm going to tell you I didn't understand anointing with oil I didn't understand I didn't I didn't feel anything when he prayed for me my mama just took me by there Pastor anointed me with oil Pastor prayed for me I did take the antibiotics but about two weeks later we go back to that doctor I remember sitting there at Fort Sanders and he brought this huge machine around and connected at the side of my head to look into my ear he stood sat there for a moment looked around looked at his his little uh tablet his little clipboard and brother Nolan he looked at it and he said I must have written the wrong ear down and he took the machine the gadget from this side of my head flipped it all the way around and put it in that side of my head and he looked at it and a few Grunts and that and he brought it back around and he put it in here and then he said these words he said I knew the antibiotic was powerful but I didn't know it was powerful enough to close the eardrum said this eardrum is completely closed over there is no rupture there in this eardrum and about that time my blessed little mama my blessed my blessed little mama sister Hannah she cut loose the praising God she said Dr Jesus did it God did it God healed my ear can I tell you something tonight God is still a Healer God is still a Healer how can you trust him for future healings because he healed me in the past God is still a Healer I wish somebody that's been healed would begin to shout would begin to praise God would begin to magnify God He Is A Healer oh come on praise him right now praise him right now praise him right now praise him right now Nolan I want you to get a bottle of oil out from under there right now get a bottle of oil right now our precious little lady that got baptized last night has got a cancer diagnosis of her throat and I'm going to pray for you tonight that God is going to heal your cancer in the name of Jesus Jesus come on Church believe with me right now Jesus You Are the Healer Jesus You Are the Healer right now Jesus you are a Healer Jesus you healed me and God I I I wasn't even calling on your name you're a Healer you're the same yesterday today and forever more Jesus you are good Jesus you are great Jesus you are awesome Jesus you are powerful Jesus right now Lord move upon this woman praying but I have such a strong word we will return back to our worship in just a moment and I continue to use the young man Tanner tonight I continue I continue to use that young man tonight because listen to me closely he would not have the skill he's got had he not had tools given into his hands golf clubs golf bag he had to have these tools put in his hands and he would not be the man the young man of exceptional exceptional skill in golfing if he hadn't stayed on a place and at a place over and over there's something interesting about a golf course you have to wear the right attire to be on a golf course no denim no denim allowed collared shirts no denim allowed they require certain attire on a golf course let me tell you I have been Tanner on a golf course many times but I don't know how to play golf cuz I didn't go to play I go I went to be a spectator I went to watch my son play just because I was at that golf course and the gentle reminder when I picked him up in the car dad you got to go back to the house you can't wear jeans dad dad you got to go in there and get a collared shirt on you can't wear that Polo t-shirt out there but I still don't know how to play golf even though I wear the right attire I only know how to be spectator nobody gives trophies to Spectators Spectators don't make the news it's only those that go to the place with the right Tools in their hands now I'm going to tell you there's going to be a move of God a move of the spirit of God move across this building and you say well B Caron I've been in this place before and I don't feel nothing you don't feel anything because you don't have the attire of praise and worship on right but I'm telling you your tomorrow could change right now tonight if you could just learn how to break out of your little pride if you could just break out of your little minute mentality and if you could just learn how to start praising God for his goodness come on there's going to be a move of the spirit of of God it's not enough just to be here tonight it's not enough just to be dressed right tonight you got to begin to praise him right now you got to begin to praise him like nobody's watching you got to praise him like you don't care what anybody thinks you got to praise him from the bottom of your heart come on I want you to do it right now God will God will come down on you hallelujah
