have your Bibles and we join me this evening in the Book of Luke the Gospel of Luke chapter 22 verse number 39 chapter 22 and verse number 39 I want to say this evening that uh in light of our daycare in school being closed tomorrow in observance of uh Dr Martin Luther King Day a man who promoted and fought against um social injustice and um believed in equality regardless of the color of skin and um of course this is a great bible message that all men are created equal and it's not the color I think one of Dr Martin Luther Kings phrases it's not the color of your skin but it's the content of your character and U I believe in that we celebrate that day we celebrate that day tomorrow school and daycare both will be closed uh in light of that we're in the midst of our 21 days of prayer and uh with the weather with us having freezing weather and I think it's supposed to get down in the 20s tonight if not below we've had we've had some rain and some ice and things uh let's pray at home tomorrow I believe it'd be in good judgment to pray to pray at home uh there are several people that if we have prayer in the morning they will be here and I'll just tell you I would have a hard time living with myself to know that I uh kept prayer on the schedule and it wouldn't take long if you your car tore up on a road coming to church it wouldn't take long um for the temperature to drop quickly in the car you said well Bill Car where's your faith let me tell you something Faith isn't ignorant and Faith does it tempt God are you with me tonight so we'll pick back up on Tuesday morning at 7 7:14 Luke 22 and verse number 39 and he came out and went as he was want and it'll be no surprise to you this word want here means his custom or his ritual his routine as he was want to to the Mount of Olives and his disciples also followed him and when he was at the place everybody say the place he said unto them pray that you enter not into temptation and he was withdrawn from them about a Stones cast and kneel down and prayed saying father if thou be willing remove this cup from me nevertheless not my will but thine be done and there appeared an angel unto him from Heaven strengthening him and being in an Agony he prayed more earnestly and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground and when he was Rose up from prayer and was come to his disciples he found them sleeping for sorrow he said unto them why sleep ye rise and pray lest you enter into temptation tonight I would like to preach challenge the church challenge the church and I will take part of the wording from verse 41 and I simply want to preach tonight on this subject about a Stones cast about a Stones cast would you pray with me tonight father we love you we thank you Lord for your love and for your mercy Lord I Thank you for the beautiful singing from the Inman family how their singing Has Lifted our Spirits Lord in a spirit of gratitude Lord I Thank you for the the church to stir the church to challenge the church tonight Lord if you'll anoint me I'll be ever so mindful to give you the praise of the honor and the glory we ask it all in The Wonderful Name of Jesus Christ we pray before you're seated I want you to give him a thunderous hand clap offering this evening for he is worthy for he is worthy or he is you're ready to be preached to say Amen if you're not say oh me about a Stones cast of course the scripture setting tonight is the night of all nights the night before he would hang on a cross suffer bleed and die for the sins of the world the Bible says in verse 39 if you would go back to that verse that he came out and as he was walk as his ritual was as his routine was as his custom was he went to the Mount of Olives and his disciples followed him the Bible makes an interesting statement in verse 40 it said and when he was at the place he was at the place that's interesting that it's phrase that way it it didn't just say he was at the Garden but it says that he was at the place the place when he was at the place that his ritual his routine his custom had taken him whether it was as the olive trees were prone to do have large Roots above ground that would create something that you could actually kneel down and put your hands up on and have a place of prayer whether it he had a favorite Olive Tree he had a favorite place that he would pray the Bible just simply says that he was at the place you know I think when it comes to prayer and talking to God I think we ought to have a place I'm talking about a physical place that we love to get to a place around the altar that's simply the place that that you go I I I know that it doesn't matter where I'm standing but I'm glad to have a routine and ritual that takes me back to a place to where it has special meaning it has special meaning in my life the oxville church is now using their own old Auditorium or their Spanish church when I go there to minister there to the Spanish church I stand and I look over to the far left brother enman because over there around as the Altar and the platform went back in was a place that I would kneel as a young new convert there was a place that I would go and I would talk to God it would have been considered it would would have been my place there at that place frequented Sunday after Sunday and Revival after Revival and every time the altar was open would find myself there at my place over time and over visits going to that place helped mature me I got victory over some things in that place I I carried some burdens to that place on some Sunday nights but I didn't walk out with those burdens I had some Hang-Ups but I'm glad that he was hung up for our Hang-Ups amen I had some issues in my life but thank God I had a place that I could frequently go to time and time and time again there God would meet with me and I would meet with God and there he would slowly but surely knock the rough edges and work on my life the Bible just simply says Luke records and says that when he came to the place evidently Luke was familiar with the spot Luke doesn't use the term the The Garden of Gethsemane Luke uses the term when he came to the place would everybody say that with me the place the place it's interesting not only Luke uses this terminology the place but in John chapter 18 and verse number one as John records these same words the Bible says in John 18:1 when Jesus had spoken these words he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron where was a garden into the which he entered and his disciples look at verse two with me Judas also which betray him knew the place Judas knew the place for Jesus often times sounds like ritual routine can I get a witness tonight for Jesus often times resorted thither with his disciples Judas knew the place what a tragedy what a tragedy Church Judas knew the place he knew how to get to the place but failed to submit himself once he was at the place he knew how to get there he knew what turns to take he knew how to go this road and that road and get to the place but what a tragedy once he gets to the place he never submitted himself to the place such a tragedy to know the place but never tap into the power of Prayer and it's life changing power what a tragedy what a tragedy I believe the Bible tells us it would be better never to have known the way of Truth to have known it and to walk away from it I believe tonight it would be better for you on Judgment Day if you had never seen First Apostolic Church 1331 William Blunt Drive I I believe it would be better for you to know that you get off of 321 one and make a left and go down here to William Blunt and make another left and go to the next light and make a right and turn into the parking it would be better for you to have never known this address than to know the address and know what time we start and know what was going to happen in the church but never allow God to change your life it's not good enough to know the place once you get to the place you've got to submit your spirit to God in order for God to change your life come on I want to challenge you a little bit tonight such a tragedy to know the place but never tap into the power of prayer and its lifechanging power to be on the edge of a miracle and never step in to be on the edge of the Sullivan of a miracle to be on the threshold to be on the edge it would be better for you to be a million miles away from it than to be on the edge of it to be on the threshold fold of it to be right here where Miracles are happening and God is moving and in The Invisible spirit world angels are flooding around and God's presence is moving and His glory is here and the power of God is here and you stand with an unsubmitted Spirit you stand with a heart divided between the church and the world you stand tonight you know the place place you know 1331 you know how to get here in your car but once you're here you find yourself like Judas you know how to get here but you never submit your life what a tragedy to be written of Judas as a matter of fact the Bible says in John chapter 10 and verse number n Jesus plainly declared I am the door I am the door in Luke 22: 47 the Bible says while he yet spake Behold a multitude and he that was called Judas one of the 12 went before them and Drew near unto Jesus and kissed him what a tragedy Judas knew the place he knew the directions he knew the time it started he knew all about that but it never benefited his life he was never changed why he went so far as to kiss Jesus said I am the door he kissed the door turned around and within a few hours got so despondent and so depressed and so regretting of what he had done that the Bible said Judas ended his own life life I've come to preach to somebody tonight you're just about a Stones Cast Away From God changing your life you're close but close is not good enough you've got to submit your heart tonight to God with everything that you've got if youve got things in your life you know you shouldn't have it's time to throw your hands up and say God would you help me get rid of it God would you help me get victory over this tonight it's a tragedy it's a tragedy to know the place as a matter of fact David was hungry thirsty and defenseless he's running he's tired he's worn out he's hungry of water out and gives it to David and David's thirst is quenched and David is full and David is his thirst is quenched now and he says to abar abar you wouldn't by happen by chance to have any swords here would you you would you wouldn't happen by chance to have any kind of a weapon that I would use because I had to kind of leave in haste and I I don't have a sword and a bthar blew down David's mind he said David do I ever more have a sword he said back here in the back room wrapped up in a linen ephod is the sword of Goliath that you took out of his hand I can see David brother enman I can see David feeling that notch on his gun I can see David saying man this is a good day I've come to the house of God I've done got my belly full I've done got my thirst quenched and now I'm going to leave here with not just any sword but I'm going to leave here with a testimony I'm going to leave you know isn't the house of God we come in here hungry and if you want to be fed you can leave here any service you I I said you can leave here any service matter of fact I know I was the one doing the preaching and I'm not trying to slap myself on the back but didn't we get full of the word today didn't we get full of the word today what about last Wednesday night and the Wednesday night before that and the Sunday night before that hey if you want to get full come on down to the church because there's bread in the house of the Lord got a sword got water no wonder the writer try and describe the house of God Psalms 84 verse number one the writer is doing himself he's trying himself to describe the house of God what are some of the words that come to your mind when you think of church it ought to be happy it ought to be glad when Bible said David I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord and can I tell you tonight if glad and happy and awesome doesn't come to your mind when you think of church your answer is not to change churches your answer is to change you thank you sister Franklin for my little prayer hourglass that have got I'm going to pray until prayer changes me too many people are praying for God to change others and it's amazing what will happen when God changes you and so you may not need a change of a church tonight as much as you need a change of you I tell you when I think of church I think of Joy when I think of church I think of Peace when I think of church I think of getting my answer from God when I think of church I think of the best place in the world for my family to be when I think of church I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord oh the writer oh the writer in Psalms 841 he is trying to describe the house of God and the Bible just simply says how airable are thy Tabernacles oh lord of host I want you to know tonight that your praise should not start at 6:00 on Sunday night I'm not trying to to be an old fogy I'm not trying to oh yeah get real brother carp get real I am getting real your praise shouldn't start at 6:00 when you sat down in these pews but your praise ought to start about an hour before church when you're at home and you begin to get ready and you got kids getting ready and a wife getting ready and you ought to start saying Lord I love you Lord I Praise You Lord I Thank You Lord you're so good when you make the turn into the parking lot y'all to start saying praise the Lord while no wonder when we meet each other at church time that we'll say praise the Lord what are we doing we're getting ready to have church because how adorable is thy Tabernacles oh lord of host my soul verse two longth yay even fth for the courts of the Lord my heart and my flesh crith out for the Living God yay the sparrow hath found a house and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her Young thine altars oh lord of hosts my king and my God blessed are they that dwell in thy house they will be still praising thee seaw praise they will still be praising the seaw blessed is the man whose strength is in thee whose heart are all are the ways of them who passing through the valley of Becca make it a well the rains also fill up the pool let me tell you something Becka means weeping and it means barren it means no growth but when you can visit the house of God you can walk through Valley Becca places in your life and you change those dead Day In God's house is better than a thousand days at Disney World a day in God's house is better than a thousand days in Jamaica a day oh my God I'm not against vacations but honey a day in God's house can do you more good than any vacation that could ever oh I wish somebody helped me praise him tonight I'd rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of the wickedness of wickedness for the Lord God is a son and a shield the Lord will give Grace and Glory no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly oh lord of hosts bless is the man that trusteth in thee 12 verses a man explodes with his love for the house of God David but let me back up at the same time David's getting water bread and a sword at the same time David's looking around the house of God it's the greatest place I long to get in the house of God we find 1 Samuel 21:7 same time David was there same day same time David was there same priest same place 1 Samuel 21:7 now a certain man of the Servants of Saul was there that day detained before the Lord his name was doeg I call him Egghead an Edomite the cheapest of a herdsman that belong to Saul wait a minute David's at the same place brother Nicholas David's at the same place water bread and a sword saying what an awesome place but there's a man by the name of doeg that all it can say about him he's there that day detained before the Lord detained means to be held in detained means to be kept close there kept close wanting out but kept close I want you to know that doeg story oh Egghead doesn't sound Egghead doesn't end up good his life doesn't end up well because he goes out he tells Saul that David was in the temple getting bread water and a sword Saul comes and kills over 80 priests because of what doe took from the house of God that day can I tell you you will either take tonight out of this place life or you'll take death you'll either take the testimony of the house of God and cause your children and your cousins and your co-workers to want to come to the house of the Lord or you'll take out of here and take death with you you'll either leave and I hope you feel every Factory in Blunt County I hope that you feel every restaurant tonight in this County and I hope the waitresses and the waiters hear conversations such as man we had those ladies sing for us tonight I can't get that song off my mind you are good in the morning time you are good man didn't that touch your heart tonight you are good in the morning time oh I'm I'm going to praise you you you you are good I hope that there's a waiter tonight or a waitress tonight that may be on drugs that may be contemplating suicide but because some of you are going to leave the house of God tonight with bread and water and a sword they're going to begin to say now what is the address of that church tonight what what is the address of that church tonight a stone's cast just a Stones Cast Away going back to my text tonight Bible said that he was withdrawn verse 41 he was withdrawn from them about a Stones cast he nailed down and prayed saying father if thou be willing remove this cup from me nevertheless not my will but thy will what I will but what you will this scripture brother enman reveals the humanity of Jesus Christ it wasn't that he didn't want to die it wasn't that he didn't want to have spikes driven in his hands and feet it wasn't that he didn't want to hang naked on a cross it wasn't the pain that he was saying I don't want to encounter this it was the act of him becoming sin for he knew no sin he had to be made sin and just is if you would give me a little more time tonight Jesus represented Jesus was the Fulfillment of the sin offering in the Old Testament and Leviticus 16:21 here's the sin offering Leviticus 16:21 Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel and all their transgressions in all their sins putting them upon the head of the goat and he shall send him away by the hand of a fit man Into the Wilderness and the Goat shall bear a upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited and he shall let him shall let the goat sh he shall let go the goat in the wilderness Jesus was the Fulfillment of the sin offering it wasn't spikes and pain and nakedness and shame that he's saying relieve me of it was that he knew the next day that all the sin of Adam all all the sins of David all the sins of humanity were going to be placed upon him and at that transaction God deity would have to leave that body that's why it says in Isaiah 59:10 yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him he hath put him to grief when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin he shall see his seed he shall prolong his day and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hands that's why the psalmist would go ahead and prophesy of a cry of humanity when all the sin of the world was coming Upon Jesus notice the word all all iniquity all transgression all sin all was placed listen to Isaiah 536 Isaiah chapter 53:6 this is in reference to Jesus all we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every man to his own way look at this please and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all Jesus Is Why I Praise Him I can't get forgiveness of my sins on my own I can't work myself give my myself sacrifice myself to get rid of sin the only way I can get rid of sin is through Jesus our lord that's why we ought to be in love with him that's why we ought to Magnify Him that's why we ought to glorify him fully God and fully man brother Nolan God knew that such anguish would come upon the man Christ Jesus so he went ahead and had it recorded in Psalms 22 and verse one my God my God why hast Thou forsaken me words sound familiar exactly what he cried from the cross when God withdrew his Spirit when deity left humanity and sin came down Upon Jesus Christ he was there in that Agony you you you you think about it with me tonight you think about people that you've watched sin tear their life up you think about men that have cried and women that have cried young people that have held their heads in shame you you you think about people that have lived a little bit of the consequences of sin in their life and now imagine with me that Jesus Christ would take all of the agony he would take all of the shame deity would leave him and he would cry out my God my God why why hast Thou forsaken me no wonder in the garden no wonder he had to go a Stones Cast Away no wonder he had to leave those other three there no wonder he said there's a battle that only I and God can handle no wonder he had to go a Stones Cast Away and there he falls down on his face and he says father if it's possible would you let this cup pass from me that proves his Humanity he didn't want to become sin that proves his Humanity but what proves his submitted humanity is the next phrase nevertheless not is I will but as blood that fell to the ground but let me read on the Bible says the Bible says as the blood verse 44 as the sweat was as great drops of blood falling to the ground verse 45 and when he rose up from prayer he found his disciples let me let me go back to verse 43 was where I wanted to go and there appeared verse 43 an angel there appeared an angel unto him from Heaven strengthening him now you know as well as I know God don't need no strength God doesn't need any strength that's not Angel strengthening God that's Angel strengthening the man I want to tell you tonight that we got to go a little further and I know we got a routine I know we got a ritual and I'm glad for it I'm glad for Wednesday 7:30 Sunday 10:00 Sunday night 6 o' I'm glad brother Zach Hammond for all the rituals we got I pray God for it but we got to go Church you hear me hear me tonight we got to go a little further we got to stay a little longer we can't allow us to become you know satisfied with what we got we got to go a little further we got to stay a little longer it would amaze us tonight if we would go a little further and stay a little longer there's an angel just saying hey I'm waiting for them Angels waiting in 2025 but they're not at the Gate of the garden and they're not where you've always went at the place Sister Sarah they're about of stones Cast Away and they're saying I wish they our reach you realize sometimes we get direction in our life when it's just a little bit beyond our reach David has got Saul after him Saul wants to kill David and tried it on a couple of occasions the time appointed with David and a little lad was with him and he said unto his lad run find out now the arrows which I shoot and as the lad ran he shot an arrow Beyond him he shot an arrow Beyond his reach and when the lad was come to the place of the arrows which jonath Jonathan had shot Jonathan cried after the lad and said is not the arrows Beyond thee Jonathan cried after the lad make speed hey stay not Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows and came to his master but the lad knew not anything only Jonathan and David knew the matter little did that boy know that what was beyond him was saving Israel's next king that what was outside of his reach was actually a secret message that God was trying to get to David that David would hide I want you to know tonight I want to challenge you I want to Prague you young people I want to Prague you I want to prag you not so young people I want to prag you tonight 25 2025 is the year that we just don't go to the place that we go beyond we go of stones Cast Away Jacob your life would have never been changed had in Genesis 32 and 206 when God began to wrestle with you and God says to you in verse 32 chapter 32 verse 26 and he said let me I'm going to stay a little longer I'm going to pray a little longer doesn't matter that my hip is knocked out a joint I'm gritting my teeth and I'm in excruciating pain getting a blessing from God is a far greater value than getting a momentary relief where I am today I want to preach to you tonight that in 2025 we got to get the mentality I will not let thee go I will not let thee go hell is going to come against you hell is already come against you trials are coming 2025 may not be a bed of roses a bad diagnosis from the doctor could be coming some kind of tragedy in the family could be coming but you'll never make it only knowing the place you got to be willing to go a Stones test away and there's the angel and there's the answer and there's the way oh I wish you would help me praise him I wish you would help me connect tonight I cut my teeth on this song when Jacob in the days of old I wrestled with my Lord then it goes in I would not be denied no I would not be denied up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God Jesus standing on the right hand of God and said behold I see the heavens opened and the son of man standing on the right hand of God then they cried out with a loud voice stopped their ears and ran upon him with one Accord cast him out of the city and stoned him and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet whose name was Saul and they stoned Sten a Stones throw away they stoned Steven calling upon God and saying Lord Jesus receive my spirit and he kneel down and cried with a loud voice let Lord lay not this sin to their charge and when he had said this he fell asleep which side of the stone throwing are you on you are either on the side of hatred we're going to shut his mouth or you're on the side of a stone Cast Away of him saying I see the glory of God I see the glory of God I got news for you you're trying to fight your enemies let them throw their Stones you just need to see the glory of God you preacher we hate your guts we you shut your mouth you you you shout we're going to kill you I see the glory of God I see Jesus standing on the right hand oh Lord I love you I praise you come on you
