I've come to give you worship tonight oh thank the Lord if you have your Bibles be so kind to meet me in the book of Ephesians chapter number five and verse number one the book of Ephesians chapter number five and verse number one what a incredible spirit of God that is here on this Wednesday evening aren't you thankful to come to a church that has consistency in our worship with God some Churches they they have good church about like Christmas it don't only comes around once a year but I'm glad that we have good church when we come here brother cot people come here with the mind to worship with the mind to worship to praise God and I'm so thankful for that it was one name that got left off the prayer list tonight brother penton's Mother sister imma Jean has had a heart attack she is a elderly lady but she has had a heart attack and she is in blun Memorial Hospital let's remember let's remember I'm jeene when we pray over the U the message tonight also I am calling for next Wednesday night next Wednesday next Wednesday to be a churchwide fast day and we will focus our fasting and prayer on God to anoint the movement conference that God would anoint the movement being aware of your surroundings I um I pray and I ask God I want to be a good good pastor I want to be a good pastor and a good pastor in my estimation feeds his flock a good pastor in my estimation keeps his flock aware of what's going on not only in the church but a good pastor keeps the flock reminded of what we are seeing in the world around us today the go godlessness that is prevailing in our world today it is there because it is been foretold in the Bible that the days prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ that we would see these things we would see these things come to pass so to my Bible lesson tonight I want to minister and that we would be aware we would be aware of our surroundings when Paul was writing to the church at Ephesus it's very needful for him to write to this church that was there in one of the major one of the major cities of Asia a very Progressive city a city that was cutting Edge a region that was cutting edge but yet they were given they were given entirely to idolatry they believed that their existence was owed to a god that fell down from the heavens and they worshiped they worshiped this Goddess Diana they worshiped this Goddess Diana they were not kind at all to anyone that brought any other message to their city that was against this goddess called Diana as a matter of fact they were so much in love with this Goddess that they had made that for the space of several hours the Bible says they cried out great is dianas great is dianas and they cause great harm to the preachers of the apostolic faith that was attempting to establish a work there in Ephesus but it doesn't matter how hard the devil will fight if we will be faithful God can plant and cause to thrive an Apostolic church at the gates of hell Paul gives the simple instructions to them he says be ye therefore followers of God as dear children the word there followers means imitators imitators says therefore be followers or imitators of God as dear children no doubt Paul is using the older saints of God as examples to the new ones that are coming on I thank God that there's hardly a service that goes by Brother Wimberly that we don't see somebody go down in jesus' name here at this church there's not hardly a service goes by that well there's not hardly a service goes by that we don't see several go down in Jesus name there's not hardly a service goes by that we don't have guests that are here that service goes by that people are coming and and inquiring about this Apostolic message and all that all that all that it means just just a few months ago entire family the slack family all came at once S car doing a Bible study brother um Satan worked with brother slack on his job and he got to questioning about the doctrine and before it was over with a Bible study was plan and before it was over with an entire family saw their need to be baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost and but you know what if we want young F folks to act right we want young people young in the Lord if we want them to know how to act thank God for us older people that are setting the pattern thank God for older people that are setting the pattern I'm not talking about chronological age I'm not talking about age I'm talking about older in the Lord isn't it good to be older in the Lord to be able to show the new people that are coming in this is how we worship God this is how we praise God this is how we magnify the King of Kings Paul said be followers be imitators of God as de children verse number two there's three times in the next few verses that Paul is going to use the word walk everybody say walk walk walk that means to progress that means to make progress he said to walk in love walk in love as Christ ha also loved us and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savior now he said I want you to progress in love I want you to walk in love and then he said let me give you the chief example of what love looks like Jesus when we want to know what love looks like the chief example of Love is Jesus Christ study the life of Jesus Christ God in flesh God who could have come to this world in any form or fashion that he would come to this world made the choice to come to this world as a servant to serve others let's look at this verse again and walk in love as Christ also hath loved who who did he love who did he love help me now who did he love who did he love himself who did he love he loved us and hath given himself for who who did he give himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savior he didn't come to be served he came to serve he didn't come to be any more God than he already was our praise and worship does not make him more God he is as much God now with a church as he was God without a church but for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believed believe on him should not perish but have everlasting life can I tell you tonight when we want to imitate love we need to study the life of Jesus Christ you cannot walk in love and be self-centered let me say it again it may get deep in here tonight I may have to buy a few amens before it's over with but you cannot walk in love and be self life does not revolve around you nor I life revolves around him and any time we become self-centered we really we really will you know I'm just giving myself I'm just giving myself and I'm giving myself and and I just feel so I just always are given do you know the only way to receive is to give let's take respect for a moment moment everybody in this building wants to be respected everybody in this building wants to be treated kindly brother snitzer everybody in this building wants to be youed is needed everybody does everybody does everybody in this building wants to be thought of as important and needed and respected but can I tell you something the only way you'll ever receive that from anyone else is the first give it and if you get it give it you'll get it back in return and it's so much better when love and respect and honor comes back to you from a flowing heart other than trying to demand somebody respect you oh friend they can put a title over your head but that doesn't give you respect respect is not something you can be voted in on respect is not a position you can be given around here respect is something that you have given to others and it's a great gift that comes back to you from others do you know that when God was pouring himself out in love now just follow me now with this just follow me young men with this at the time before God became man and before God purchased a church with his own blood all he had was Angelic beings to bring him praise and bring him wor worship that's all he had but God's master plan was to create a man and redeem a man and he would create a man because God is love God doesn't do love God is love God is love and when God loved the world the Bible says this in one of the Epistles of John we loved him be because help me now because he how long which second thir third he first loved us you know why we love God because he first loved us and when God was giving himself and the angels might have said look at how much you're giving look at how much love you're issuing out God was just simply saying you just wait till my redeemed across the ages get together and they're going to give me 247 praise and worship from the rising of the sun until the going down of the same the name of the Lord I got news for you Christianity is not just a North America thing God has people just like us on every every continent in the world God has people just like us come on do you see the plan one man praised Jesus Christ is still being worship Jesus Christ is still being honored 7 Seconds that listen I believe from the rising of the Sun to the going down of the saint that the name of the Lord is pleasure at all but let's read on in verse number three in verse number three Ephesians 5 and 3 Dove tells right from verse two but for forication and all uncleanness and covetousness let it not be once named among you as become a Saints neither filthiness nor foolish talking nor jesting which are not convenient but rather giving thanks now self centered people are fornicators every self-centered person every every fornicator let me get that in the right order every fornicator is a self-centered person they want pleasure they want pleasure for themselves every every person every person that is involved in unsanctioned sexual acts that fall under fornication uncleanness and covetousness all have one thing in common self centeredness Paul said let it not be once named among you Paul said let this sin not be once named among you as becometh Saints in other words that word Saints there means Sanctified you're not going to gravitate to a world of sexual perversion if you are gravitating to a world of being Sanctified or separated unto God let's continue to read verse number four neither filthiness this is all tied into unsanctioned sexual behavior neither filthiness nor foolish talking nor jesting which are not convenient now now now just just look at verse four with me for a moment he comes to verse three and he begins to describe the opposite of true love which is self-centeredness which will manifest itself in the pleasure of your flesh at whatever cost he begins to name them fornication uncleanness Covetous filthiness foolish foolish talking come on children of God your mouth was not made to want to tell the latest off colored joke and I'm not trying to say I'm holy and all this but I will tell you this I will stop you if you try to tell me a joke that I think I know where it might go and I did that and the person later told me he he was telling me this joke in front of some other men it would have been the same if was just me and him but it was front of the other other men and I I I saw where this joke was going I said oh oh oh wait wait a minute brother if you're going where I think you're going with this I don't want to hear this well he later said you know you really embarrassed me with what you said in front of those men and I said yeah and you were really ready to embarrass me where do you get off thinking I would like that kind of joke y'all may be seated tonight but I'm here to tell you as children of God those kinds of jokes and talking should not be coming out of our mouths neither filthiness nor foolish talking nor jesting which are not convenient look at the end of verse four here's what we need to be known by here's what we need to be known by not telling the latest off-color joke not being able to tell something that's that that that's got a little flare to some kind of a uh uh less than honorable Behavior but you know what we ought to be known by giving thanks to God man there comes a praiser let him talk to you all day long there comes a worship or let him he going to talk to you all day long I'll open both of my ears up Walk In Love verse five for this you know that no whoremonger nor unclean person nor Covetous man who is an idolator wait a minute an idolatry what is an idolatry one who worships himself you worship yourself again can I give you can I give you the prescription to stay out of sin worship God can can I give you the prescription to stay out of sin ask yourself the question after church tonight God was I pleasing to you God Did My Worship please you tonight God was you pleased with how how I behave today God was you was you was you pleased with me today I promise you that kind of soul searching will bring you out of sin and keep you away from sin other then I deserve this I need some I need some real pleasure I need some real pleasure in my life let me read it again verse five for this know ye in case there's any questions about this let's let's just look at how plain surroundings that I see in my world today it's even at the door and we better wake up and look out at the world and realize he's coming and we'll never change the world but the only thing we can do is look out at the world and begin to look at us in the mirror and say oh God I want to be ready to meet you when you come I don't want to have any love for the world the world is not my entertainment the world does not make me happy it is when I come into the relationship with Jesus Christ and when I get around others like you is when I begin to feel my love and my joy in that I I'm well let me let me read it again for this know you that no horer nor unclean person nor Covetous man who is an idolator have any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God verse six I think he knew this was coming let no man deceive you with vain words in other words I'm telling you you're not going to make it don't go home and turn the TV on tonight or the radio on the podcast and listen to somebody that says you know there's two types of Sinners there's a lost sin there's a unsaved Sinner and there's a saved sinner now here's the difference between the saved Sinner and the unsaved sinner the unsaved sinner doesn't know any better he sins because he's unsaved but the saved sinner when he sins he knows he shouldn't sin but he sins anyway but he's going to be saved at the end of time I'm going to tell you something don't let any man deceive you with those vain words whoremongers and adulterers and unclean people will not inherit the Kingdom of God I'm preaching this tonight to tell you if you're involved in any of that if you got any of that on your phone if you got any of that on your computer you need to get it off you need to get in the Altar and you need to start worshiping God and praising God and let no man deceive you with vain words because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of Disobedience he said don't let somebody deceive you with vain words God's anger and wrath is going to be poured out upon the children of Disobedience along with you verse seven be not ye therefore partakers with them for ye were sometime times darkness in other words what he's saying you used to act like that before you came to God come on there's nothing wrong with that there's nothing wrong with that we used to live like that before we got in the church before we got the Holy Ghost can I get a witness tonight I said we used to act like that when we were in the world we used to go there we used to do those things we used to act that way but things changed be be verse seven be not ye therefore partakers with them for ye were sometimes for ye were sometimes in darkness but now are ye light in the Lord here's the second walk are you ready walk as children of light you can't walk in light I hope you write this down you can't walk in light sir until you have walked in love you cannot walk in the light of God's word until you have crucified your flesh and you're no longer serving your flesh and you're no longer an idolator of your flesh you cannot walk in the light of God's word until you first walk in in the light of God's love but now but now we come to the second walk verse eight for ye sometimes for ye were sometimes Darkness but now are you light in the Lord walk oh I want you to savor that for a moment walk as children of light walk as children of light what are we doing walk as holding a torch to want to go back to the dark places we came out of the dark neighborhoods the dark families with the torch of the light of a changed life and as we begin to show those that are still in darkness you can come to the light look at what God has done in my life walk as children progress progress walk as children of light for the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and Truth well those are the th those are sister Kelly those are the three standards you you and and I keep saying you ought to write this down these next three words is for when you have questions about behavior in your life these next three words are questions you need to ask about certain Behavior here it is here here's here is the words verse number nine the fruit of the spirit is in in all goodness should I do this should I not do this ask yourself is there goodness inside there is this good for me to do this will this hurt anybody will this give praise and honor to God is there goodness here that's one of the standards here's the second standard how about righteousness is it right to do this is it right to do this is it will I be in right standing with God can I pray about this Behavior you ever thought about that boy wouldn't that be a Einstein moment you got Behavior you're doing or you considering doing how about spending some time in prayer before God ask asking God God will I still be in right standing with you if I partake of this of this Behavior three words goodness goodness righteousness and the third the third is worshiping God consistently won't change your life until you do it I get tickled sometimes and honory at the same time anytime I get tickled and honory look out but when somebody wants to tell me well I just don't believe you got to do all that a running I just don't believe you got to do all that leaping and all that stuff I just love to say you ever ran the aisles and they look at you like a the watch is around 3:00 a.m. to about 6:00 a.m. and he said now I'm just sitting there on my couch of the morning I'm just waiting for Jesus to come by I I I'm just waiting for him to come by that's light for whatsoever doth make manifest is light wherefore he saith awake thou that sleepeth arise from the dead and Christ shall give thee light what is light light is illumination light is to know what's going around in the world if we don't have the love of God on the inside of our heart I'm going to walk in love what's that mean I'm going to love everybody I don't have an enemy and the enemies that I do have I'm praying for them in the sweet name of Jesus Christ I don't want them to be lost I don't have one person that I want to see go to hell I pray even for my enemies I pray for my enemies I pray for those despiteful of you oh don't pin don't you stand with me right now but don't pin a rose on me right now don't say oh our pastor so spiritual he prays for his enemy the only way I can pray for my enemies is to look at the greatest example that was ever given from Jesus Christ that looked down from a cross and said father forgive them they know not what they do that's the only way that I can love my enemies oh sweet Lamb of God God don't talk to me about how many toes Antichrist has don't talk to me when he's coming and when he's not coming if you don't have love then don't try to walk circumspectly until you're walking with the light but when you can walk with love and the light then you ought to walk circumspectly what's going on in the Middle East right now
