praise God and do you know that's not just a catchy little tune but that's Bible Bible because the Bible says in him dwelleth the fullness of the godhead bodily but don't stop reading right there keep on reading and ye are complete in him praise God once you've got Jesus you don't need anything else once you've got him you don't need an added book you don't need any additives once you got him you are complete well I better get my Bible out in your attention or the camp meeting preacher might come out in me tonight in this place you have your Bibles turn with me to the Book of Genesis Chapter 30 and verse 25 Genesis chapter 30. and verse number 25 while you're looking for that I want to say to all of our guests that are here with us tonight we are so thankful that you would be here on a midweek service to Worship the Lord with us welcome welcome welcome welcome welcome welcome we welcome you here tonight to First Apostolic church and then uh like a parent proud of children it just my heart swells and I hope it's not a pride that I miss Heaven over but my heart swells when I step up here uh you know used to before covet we had chairs on the platform and and now we've come down to the front and I don't get to see sometimes I don't really get to see how many people are here um because I'm looking this way and then when I get up here it's like whoa my goodness my goodness and so I'm so proud of this church that you love God you come to church on a midweek service and I'm so very very as a pastor maybe there's a different word to use glad to have brother Sister Erickson Windsor and London and brother Asia and sister Cameron home from Santiago Chile so glad so glad to have them I'm so glad to have them home with us please don't forget last announcement we're going to service which I have done thee and Laban said unto him I pray thee if I have found favor in thine eyes Terry for I have learned by experience I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake I want to continue what I began last Wednesday night blessed by association blessed by association father I love you thank you Lord for your good word that leads us guides us and Comforts us feeds us Lord thank you Lord for these wonderful people they're here in this Auditorium and for the for the online congregation God let your spirit flow through both places give you praise in Jesus name we pray amen and amen you may be seated blessed by association now I'm using this I'm flipping this phrase blessed by association because many may be familiar I hope not too familiar with the phrase guilt or guilty by association guilt by association the definition of it is simply guilt of scribe to someone not because of any evidence but because of their own association with an offender you didn't go in the store and Rob the clerk you didn't hold a gun you didn't go in the store but when they came out when the robber came out he got in the car and you were in the car and you are guilty by association there's certain certain uh punishment that goes with just simply guilt by association but that's not my topic I want to minister the word that we can be blessed by association things that God have blessed if we will associate ourselves with what God has blessed everybody say what God has blessed now that that's very important that's very important you're only blessed by association if what you're associating with God has blessed you'll find out through the word of God different things that God has put his Blessing God has put his blessing upon well let me let me get the little story told about the life of Jacob and then we're going to go in and kind of break some words down but Jacob this this man in the Bible found his self and just as simple as can be he found himself going to work for a man by the name of Laban Laban had a very beautiful daughter by the name of Rachel now I want you to know about Laban Laban is not a worshiper of Jehovah Laban does not embrace the god that Jacob does we know in the Bible that even Laban had images he had certain little trinkets that he sought after signs from the gods by using these little trinkets so just get the narrative now Jacob is a worshiper of Jehovah God but Laban is not Jacob comes upon laban's farm and Jacob meets laban's beautiful daughter Rachel and there he asked for the hand in marriage of Rachel of which Laban Laban uh cut the deal I see back back in those days they kind of did things differently than we do today Laban said if you want my wife if you want my daughter you've got to work seven years of your life from my daughter you've got to work set now they did things totally different back then back then a man worked seven years to get a wife and now we work the rest of our lives to get a wife all right so these were a little different uh things were a little different so Jacob loved Rachel so much and he said sure yeah and he went to work on laban's farm for seven years but you know life has some funny twists and turns and sometimes God teaches us lessons by having somebody do to us what we've done to others now Jacob is best known for being a deceiver Jacob is best known for putting on his brother's clothes and going into his dad his father Isaac and and deceiving his father and so in life and sometimes we have to taste the bitter medicine of what we've done to others and so when the seven years was up and Jacob was to take his beautiful Rachel that night in the tent in the darkness of the night Jacob went into the tent to marry Rachel but Laban had switched he had told Rachel not to go to the tent and he had told Leah to go to the tent he had told Leah to be in there of course the next morning and and I'll tell you I'll just tell you this much there's nobody that can tell this story like brother J.H Osborne all right there's just nobody that can put you right there and and all all of that but the next morning I imagined it was quite a stir When The Morning Light when Jacob pushed the tent flat back and looked in and and it wasn't his beautiful Rachel It was Leah he goes storming up to laban's house and tells Laban how he's deceived him and Laban offers a little excuse to why it wouldn't have been right to give Rachel first and again if you'll work for me seven more years I'll give you Rachel and labor Jacob worked seven more years King time came time Jacob they had Sons and Daughters by both Leah and Rachel Jacob had a mask a little wealth there and it simply came time that Jacob wanted to go home he wanted to go home it was in God's prophecy that Jacob would play a role in the uh the Messiah coming and Jacob Jacob like a like like birds fly south in the winter there was something inside of Jacob that he wanted to go back to his land he wanted to go back and so he made the request he squared up with his father-in-law and he said now labor and I have served you I have served you Faithfully and I want to go home and don't deprive me of my wives and my children and my cattle and then Laban speaks up and Laban says to him I pray if I could find some favor in your eyes Jacob Jacob somehow if I could find favor in your eyes and you would wait you wouldn't leave me right now for I have learned by experience you see there's some lessons in life that you can't get off the internet there's some diplomas that'll hang on your wall you can't do an online degree there are some things in life that you will only learn by experience Laban said you've been here over 14 years I don't know if you recognize it or not but I didn't have as many cattle 14 years ago as I do now I don't know if you realize it or not but my feels were kind of brown and unproductive but ever since you stepped foot on my farm things begin to change calves begin to give more give birth to more soil turned into productive soil I got more bushels of wheat I got more and he said I have learned by experience God has blessed me because of you I have learned this I've observed this I've tried to figure it out I've went to my images and tried to figure it out but now I know now I know God has blessed me because of you and I don't want you to leave and you know what Laban I don't blame you I don't blame you if God has allowed something to come into our lives Laban that has produced a blessing Don't Let It Go don't let it slip out of your fingers find out what has blessed you now let's look at the word this evening the word blessed because that's we we kind of use that word sister Carter it's good it's good to see you good to see you tonight um I was so blessed I guess seeing you um triggered in my mind a few weeks ago the Sevierville campus got a phone call from a precious little lady that loves God she just loves God but she doesn't have a a car she doesn't have a ride to church she called the Sevierville church and said if someone come pick me up at church said I'd come to church and um when we got to talking to her little that little precious lady named sister Fox she was so thankful for one ride to come to church and brother Salyers we let her know that we will come and pick you up every time the doors are open and I can still see that little face on her just light up and she said you'll pick me up every time you have church I'll come to church every time you have church and so they've been picking her up bringing her to church and she's precious lady she's got the baptism of the Holy Ghost but she did she didn't have the fullness of Truth and last night sister Carter's I was leaving the Sevierville Church she stopped me and she said she said whenever you all have baptism Sunday and whenever it said put me on the roll to be baptized said I've never been baptized in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and said I I want to be baptized ah I said well Miss Fox sister Fox we don't have baptism Sunday we don't have a number you we don't have a number that we fill up the baptismal pool when we reach that 7 or 8 10 12 whatever the number is I said we'll baptize you at any day of time of the day and man she started shaking she said I feel the Holy Ghost right now she said would you baptize me Sunday so I'm going to put sister Fox down in the lovely name of Jesus Christ somebody says brother Carpenter don't look at anybody else we may not get out of here tonight all right we use the word bless so loosely that we've lost the true meaning of what blessed means we say things like too blessed to be stressed or somebody will sneeze and we will say bless you you know but we're really getting the Bible and we understand the importance of the word blessed the word blessed means fortunate it means fortunate but it also means self-contained in other words if you are blessed you are self-contained you have everything needed for life you you are you are self-contained you have everything that's needed for life the Greeks were kind of funny about this word blessed the Greeks had an island that they called The Blessed Island why did they call it the Blessed Island because it had the perfect climate on it the perfect climate was upon this one Island the Greeks would vacation why did they call it the perfect Island this island had the perfect soil that produced the perfect fruit and guess what it was in the perfect location everything about this island was absolutely perfect for the happiness of man to keep man happy and content everything man needed was on this island and the Greeks called it the blessed the blessed Island we understand this word blessed we understand this word blessed shall contain we are blessed we are blessed we are a blessed people we are a fortunate people why that one song they sang tonight sets us apart with a revelation that Abraham Isaac and Jacob had it's all in him hear o Israel the Lord our God is one what a blessed people We Are Tonight what a blessed people tonight that we are to know that our God come on can you give him some praise tonight do you realize how blessed you are thank you Jesus sometimes we have to understand this blessed life it's blessed life let's go this is fitting for the time let's go to Luke chapter 1 verse 26. scripture will explain where we're at in history Luke chapter 1 verse number 26 and in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee named Nazareth to a virgin in spouse to a man his name was Joseph of the House of David and the virgin's name was Mary follow closely now and the angel came in unto her and said hell thou that art highly favored the Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women when she saw him she was troubled at his saying now I would personally Never sing an angel I think I would be troubled at the sight of an Angel all right she was a troubled at a sight she was troubled at the same and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be she thought what I'm highly favored what I'm I'm blessed I'm blessed I'm blessed I'm fortunate I'm self-contained God declared Mary favored and blessed God declared her and the only way sister Carpenter that we can truly be blessed people is for God to declare us blessed for God to declare us blessed so the angel came and said you're blessed you're highly favored nine months later of course she went through you know the ridicule she went through of being suspected cheating on Joseph her engaged husband women may be walking on the other side of the road to keep from passing her the ridicule that she went through with that nine months later it was a birth a few days after the birth we come to Luke 22 Luke Chapter 2 verse 34. this is just a few days after the birth everybody remember Mary is favored Mary is blessed all right can we all say that together Mary is could we all do it tonight Mary is Mary's favored Mary's blessed the Christ child is born he is but a few days old and by the law they take him to the temple for circumcision they take him into the temple to present him before God and that I I think God they take him to the temple the Christ child God and flesh and in Luke 2 34 while they're there in the temple and Simon bless them and said unto Mary his mother behold this child is set for the for the fall and Rising again of many in Israel and for a sign which shall be spoken against yea a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed now let's stop for a moment and let's not get sidetracked with this cheap phony TV stuff and internet stuff about what it means to be favored of God and blessed of God all right what it means to be favored and blessed of God because God said to Mary through the angel you are favored and you are blessed but nine months later when she holds the Christ child at her arms a man that was in the temple a Godly Man by the name of Simeon a godly man walks up and this godly man through the Holy Ghost blessed Mary and then he began to say this child is set for the fall of the rising he have many in Israel look at verse 35 a sword a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed let me read this to you in a different translation maybe to bring it maybe to bring it to light more Luke 2 34 and 35 in a different translation a painful sword will one day pierce your inner being for your child will be rejected by many in Israel and the destiny of your child is this he will be laid down as a miracle sign for the downfall and resurrection of many in Israel many will oppose this sign but it will expose to all the innermost thoughts of the hearts before God now listen to me don't fall for this cheap stuff that if you're favored and blessed of God you never have any trials in your life don't lose your praise don't lose your worship don't lose your footing because being blessed and highly favored doesn't mean the sun always shines it doesn't mean everything always falls our way God's got a master plan hear me church God has got a master plan for our lives and it's not all on the Mountaintop it's not all things falling our way God's Got Some Nights of disappointment he's got some days of Agony and pain but your heavenly father says your favors you're blessed you've got everything that you need you just gotta look to the end you have got to look to the end of your life please don't make a judgment where you're at right now please don't worship your God based on one frame at a time of your life because that will lead to fanaticism because some of the frames I'm on the mountain but then stagnation some of the frames I'm deep down in the valley below so to be blessed and highly favored it's not this cheap junk you see advertised with certain jewelry and certain cars and certain clothes that is not what God means When God says you're favored and you're blessed you know what it means it means I have favored you Mary I have looked at your life from the beginning to the end and oh Mary I have chosen you to favor you and to bless you but I want to go ahead and let Simeon tell you now that the little baby that you hold in your arms is going to have a sword Pierce him Mary some 33 years later you're going to stand and look at your blessing it doesn't look like a blessing he's been crucified and nailed to a cross and in John 19 John Chapter 19 Verse 26 . can we can can we keep walking with God even though even when the angel is long since been gone that tells me I'm blessed and highly favored can we stop looking in the direction of our places of employment for our blessings can we stop looking at people and believing this is where my blessing is coming if God has blessed you God has an incredible plan look at chapter 19 of John 26. come on Mary look at your blessing now when Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciples standing by whom he loved he saith unto his mother woman Behold thy son look at your son now 33 and a half years later Look at me now Mary Look At Me Now mother remember back in the temple when Simeon said that a sword would Pierce me and when it would Pierce me it would Pierce you I know a lot of things about mothers and I know that a natural mother a natural mother loves her children above and beyond above Beyond you say oh well Bill Carpenter foe dad's in there well we love them but we didn't carry them that much yeah we love them dads love them I love my kids but there's something about a mother there's something about a mother it's a love that's indescribable can you mothers that are here tonight only imagine what Mary must have felt when they took her baby boy Jesus and nailed him to a cross Mary wasn't standing there tearless I can see this woman I could see this woman at times in a fetal position there at that cross I can see your sobbing uncontrollably why because Mary you're blessed and your favorite can I tell you tonight when you have to watch what you thought would be the greatest thing sometimes it's crucified right before our eyes but Mary don't give up and I'm saying I'm telling you don't give up don't give up don't give up my eyes might have caught someone that's got a child that's Wayward tonight please don't give up remember the carpenter I dedicated him I sent him to the school I sent him to the school I did all that that's right and today it's nailed to a cross and it looks nothing like what you had planned but don't give up we're not at the end yet we're not at the ends yet don't give up Mary Mary don't give up why why are you not going to give up I'm going to tell you why I'm not going to give up because Mark 16 and 1 says this when the Sabbath was passed Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and suleimane had brought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him come on Mary don't give up something's going on down at the tomb Mary come on Mary don't give up when life has dealt you your period when life has told you it's the end period when life is put a period there it's over they've buried him it's over forget about it your song's not coming back your joy is not coming back things in your life is not coming back you are now labeled at divorce e you're now labeled an ex-convict you're now labeled this and you're now labeled that hear me tonight don't give up because if you are favored and blessed of God there's something going on down there at the tomb oh Mary what was it like on that Resurrection morning when somebody got to your humble place of Abode and somebody began to say he's alive he's alive what was it like Mary when you met the resurrected Christ for the first time what was it like oh I would love to have been there wouldn't you what was it like when that mother that had been you could not console Mary and Jesus walks through the door Jesus walks through and she hugs her son and she loves her son you know why I am favorite of God and I am blessed of God and don't you give up I don't care how ugly the cross is how ugly life is how unfair you've been treated for God's sake church we are blessed because of Association that's why sometimes I can shout down the aisle and sometimes I have to drag myself down the aisle but I'm not giving up on God I'm not giving up on God blessed by men I hope this is making sense tonight Mary don't give up because you've got an Acts chapter 1 verse 10 coming you've got an Acts chapter 1 verse 10 coming Mary don't give up Acts chapter 10 verse number 1 verse 10 I'm sorry and while they look steadfastly toward Heaven as he went up his Ascension behold two men stood by them in white apparel which which which also said you men of Galilee why I stand you gazing up into heaven this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven then return they they then return they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath Day's Journey and when they were come in they went up into the upper room where Abode both Peter and James and John and Andrew and Philip and Thomas Bartholomew Matthew James the son of alphaeus and Simon zealots and Judas the brother of James these all continued with one Accord in prayer and supplication with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus Mary you are blessed and you are highly favored endure the cross endure the shame endure the tears endure the time in your mind Why didn't it come out that this way keep on going you're self-contained God's got a bright future for you I've got an upper room for you Mary blessed by association Acts chapter 2 verse number one when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind it filled all the house where they were sitting there appeared unto them you know who them is those that I just read and don't you forget the star of this show tonight is Mary Mary and there appeared unto Mary doing no harm to the word of God and there appeared unto Mary cloven tongues like as a fire and it set upon Mary and Mary was filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave Mary the utterance Mary what was going through your mind brother brother Nolan I've written a little thing here what was going through your mind Mary that first Pentecost morning when you are filled with the Holy Ghost and the joy of the Lord has filled your soul was it the thoughts of the Angels at the beginning nine months of being scorned by The Other Women in the village Shepherd words wise men threats of his life by Herod angry mobs of religious Hypocrites Pilates sentencing him to death Roman soldiers beating him but blessed people always have the final say hear me tonight bless people always have the final say there are seasons we don't have the final say there's Seasons we don't have anything to say because we're not permitted to say it but you look up here at this five foot seven inch green eyed preacher tonight the resurrected people always have the final say you may call me a prostitute you may call me every name in the book the government may beat me things are unfair in my life but there's coming a resurrection morning and if there is a resurrection morning there's going to be a Pentecost you get the last say I don't care what crime you've committed get baptized in Jesus name and get the Holy Ghost I don't care how many marital relationships you went through get baptized in Jesus name and get the Holy Ghost I don't care how bad you messed up get up and go again somebody give him praise in this house hey hey Hallelujah blessed people always have the final say there's a resurrection there's an Ascension now there's tons of fire and a movement that hell can't stop and Mary you can't imagine this but the best is yet to come you have been you have been baptized with the Holy Ghost Mary you've been baptized with the spirit of God the same spirit of God that caused your conception in your womb is the same spirit of God that gave you the Regeneration in your spirit the Holy Ghost moved on her and she conceived miraculously the Holy Ghost filled her at Pentecost and she was regenerated filled with what the Bible says joy unspeakable and full of Glory but Mary The Best Is Yet To Come you now have God's spirit living in you I know Mary I know Mary you have been dead now Mary for over 2 000 years your body has decomposed to the dust that God made the first man from but Mary when you died you died with the spirit of God in you and Romans 8 11 says but if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also Quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you Mary it's not over frail sickly Mary I don't know what you died from if you just died of old age I don't know but I can tell you one thing Mary when you died even death is not the end for you Mary how you figure that because my body can die but the Holy Ghost that's in me is eternal and it's everlasting life and it promises Mary somebody needed to read you Daniel 12 and 1. Daniel 12 and 1. says this and at that time shall Michael stand up the great Prince with standeth for the children of thy people and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to this same time and at that time thy people shall be delivered everyone that shall be found written in the book look at verse 2 Mary and many of them God's people and many of them that sleep in the dust shall awake some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt and that's the final day judgment Mary is going to be Resurrected when the church is Resurrected Mary there is going to be a resurrection you are the although your body is decomposed its way and somewhere over there in the Middle East you know it's it's decomposers nothing but dust but when God sounds the trumpet to Rapture his church the dead in Christ shall rise first Mary that spirit of God that you received at Pentecost is going to re-enter that body change that body not back to the body that it was but to a body that is Incorruptible a body like made to Jesus glorified body now wait a minute let me try to calm down just a minute because this is truly the blessed life you see tomorrow afternoon when we bring sister Orr in here the blessings of her life no I doubt really anybody in Washington DC's know knows Lois Orr I doubt that Vogue magazine ever called and wanted to see her but can I tell you she's more blessed and anything going on in Washington right now she is more blessed than anything Wall Street Broadway can ever give because she died with the Holy Ghost you don't know what I'm going through brother Carpenter you know what I'm going through you don't know what I'm going through you gotta change your vocabulary it's not what you're going through it's what you're going to if I get my mind on what I'm going through here if you get your mind on what you're going through you will be of all men most miserable get your mind on what you're going to get your mind on what you're going through what you're going to listen to Romans 8 18. Paul Romans 8 18. for I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in US can I tell you what we're going through don't don't you dare talk about look what I'm going through listen when you are changed in a moment and in the twinkling of an eye when you open up your eyes whether you die and you sleep and you open up your eyes and see Jesus for the first time or yet you're alive and the Rapture happens and you're changing a moment in the twinkling of an eye you won't go to heaven and say I gave up I gave up Nashville to be here I I gave up Hollywood I could have been an actor I gave up a lot of money listen once you get there Paul said I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed the only way I can segue into something else here tonight as a song that was written years ago and it goes like this now when we make it when we get to the Pearly Gates we're all going to shout for joy as we look upon our savior's face then we're going to sing the story of his saving and amazing grace and the memories of trial and test forever will he erase it's going to be worth it all it's going to be worth it all it's gonna be worth it all some beautiful happy day gonna be worth every long mile every heartache and every trial it's going to be worth it all some beautiful happy day I've come to try to encourage you Salem God I know that you're sick in your body I know that you've got a heartache up on a heartache but hold on you're blessed hold on you're blessed you may die penniless that you're going to be resurrected a millionaire many times over it's going to be oh if this is getting in your heart would you worship him right now blessed blessed blessed ha bless bless bless song goes on and says don't get discouraged When Trials bring you low Jesus is going to take care of you so take courage in your soul and when you get weary and you think that you'll surely fall just remember that some sweet day it's gonna be worth it all just quickly job had two ends to his life he had chapter one of job he had chapter 42. chapter 1 says that job was blessed Satan said it Satan said it you have blessed him you've blessed The Works of his hands you know why you're a good contractor people in if you're a good contractor and you say that you could be a better contractor keep knowing the people you know in town but for God's sake associate yourself with Jesus I'm a good businessman you want to be a better one I'm a good businesswoman you're going to be a better one associate yourself with Jesus because he will bless The Works of your hands We Will Bless The Works of your hands you know what may job I hope you all are understanding this tonight you know what made Joe prosperous one of the most wealthiest men in his day was he a hard worker sure he was was he a farmer yes yes yes but what really blessed him was he was associated with God and God blessed the works God blessed The Works of his hands well we know that job went through a season of his life did he not that God took his hand off of job and Satan put his hand on if you read it right you'll see where Satan was allowed to put his hand in this time of job's life all job has left let's look at all job has left all job has to look at is Servants of bad news notice how the devil didn't kill everybody always kept one person to share bad news job your cattle did job and thieves come job the wind blew all he's got left is sickness in his body all he's got left is friends who offer the wrong judgment and advice all he's got left is a wife that should encourage but gives him the wrong advice now I don't know about you but if I was going to feel sorry for somebody you know we say I it's an Eastern East Tennessee thing poor as job's turkey I don't know how poor job's turkey was but maybe that's just a black old Heights Kathy maybe that's just something but that's always heard we won't talk about somebody being poor which says poorest jobs turkey well poor old job is what I would say all he's got is Servants of bad news sickness in his body friends that come to see him and give him the wrong judgment the wrong advice a wife that steps in and simply says job why don't you just open your mouth and curse God and get it over with but that's not all job had job had God although he couldn't see God he had God job 23 8 job said these words in job 23 8. behold I go forward but he is not there backward but I cannot perceive him on the left hand where he does work but I cannot Behold Him He hideth himself on the right hand that I cannot see him look at verse 10 I want you to glue your eyes either on your Bible or the screen but he knoweth but he knoweth there are times I have not been able to see God and the only thing I was built on was he knows God knows sometimes life is just gets you in a chapter of your life and if you're somebody that has to wear a certain thing make a certain amount of money have all the kids healthy have everything just panning out in your life I got news for you you're not going to have that because God has a process for you he has a process that you've got to go through but he know it the way that I take and when he had tried me I shall come forth as gold what's going on in your life right now brother hurt you can you sincerely and I'm going to tell you something put your Halos down tonight you've had to do it and I've had to do it and can I tell you it's a lot easier for me to want to pray judgment than Mercy that's real quiet tonight because this is where the rubber in the road me listen I'm not preaching this cheap stuff and give to you and get a hundred and this is what you should
