tonight i want to give some direction to the church i want to give some direction to the church if you have your bibles and would stand with me tonight i want to give us some direction it's not a trick question but it will be a tell-all how many is looking for direction in your life would you just raise your hand how many is looking for direction i believe that god saved us more than just to get together with good music i feel like that if we stay here as a church brother perry we do not well we can't stay here we cannot stay here as a church we will die god didn't give us what he's given us for us just to come and have good music and get a good touch from god and go home first kings chapter 17 and verse number eight someone said praise the lord the word of the lord came unto him saying arise and get thee to seraphath which belongeth to zidane and dwell there behold i have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee so he arose and went to zarephath and when he came to the gate of the city behold the widow woman was there gathering of sticks he called to her and said fetch me i pray thee a little water in a vessel that i may drink and as she was going to fetch it he called to her and said bring me i pray thee a morsel of bread in thy hand and she said as the lord thy god liveth i have not a cake but a handful of meal in a barrel and a little oil and a cruise behold i am gathering two sticks that i may go in and dress it for me and my son that we may eat it and die elijah said unto her fear not go and do has as thou has said but make me thereof a little cake first bring it unto me and after make for thee and thy son for thus saith the lord god of israel the burial of mill shall not waste neither shall the cruse of oil fail until the day that the lord sendeth rain upon the earth she went and did according to the saying of elijah she and he and her house did eat many days and the barrel of mill wasted not neither did the cruise of oil fail according to the word of the lord which he spake by elijah i feel the god i feel god so strong on me right now i have one more verse to read over in the book of jude verse chapter 1 verse 22 but i have a word of prophecy in my tongue right now and that word of prophecy is fear not my daughter for you have thought that what you have went through would be the end of your life but i god say to you tonight that i shall restore i shall renew i shall take you to places and i shall take you to situations that you have only dreamed of i am the god of abraham isaac and jacob i am god of the both of the dead and the living saith the lord do not say in your heart that you have experienced your best years your best years are yet to come saith the lord of hosts over you tonight come on i'm just gonna let the lord move on us right now i'm just going to let him move on us right now it is the devil's good pleasure to tell us that we've lived our best days i rebuke everest i rebuke other demonic spirit over every pastor that the devil has told you that your church has had its best days i rebuke that in jesus name oh lord this is in my tongue church do you not believe that i am more mighty than a relationship that has broken up do you not believe that i am more mighty than a mere man or woman walking out of your life do you believe me that i am able though your stars and your cuts be deep i am able saith the lord to step into your life saith the lord and to make all things new if you will only believe me oh let's just linger just for a moment just for a moment come on somebody god wants to worship right now you must begin to redeal well in your life of the joy of the lord now this say i and not the lord i prophesied for a moment but this say i not the lord tonight there's thousands and thousands and thousands of people across our lands that won't darken a church because somehow they were led to believe if their marital situation broke up that they were no longer loved by god but i don't know if you're watching tonight by way of the web but you need to find yourself back to the house of god you need to find yourself back to the house of god and you need to understand that god is able to take that situation god is able to put it under the blood god is able to heal every scar in your mind god is able to touch you you need to sing again you need to shout again you need to be a witness again you need to get off of that trash pile and realize that you've got a life yet to live jude chapter 1 verse number 22 and of some have compassion finish it for me finish it for me come on we don't understand the direction you want us to go god will die right here and i don't want to die right here god i don't want this church to be put upon the long list of churches that can remember days they had it better god if you'll anoint me tonight i'll try to steer us in the direction you would have us to go jesus name i pray you may be seated thank you for standing i use an analogy tonight the prophet elijah i use that elijah and i'm going to go ahead and tell you how i'm going to symbolize elijah tonight i'm going to symbolize elijah by the thousands of people that god has in our city that need what we have tonight the widow woman brother hammond i am going to liken the widow woman to the church elijah is a type of a world that is hungry and thirsty and dying the widow woman is a type of the church the bible says that god spoke to the widow woman in verse 9 and god had commanded her excuse me tonight biblically correct god has spoken to elijah that the widow woman would sustain him as a matter of fact in verse number 9 god says for i have commanded the widow woman to sustain so the widow woman knows what god wants her to do although i believe that the widow woman does not believe she is capable of doing what god has asked but can i remind the church tonight that god would never give us an assignment that we were not able to fulfill and he said go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature and i submit to you tonight that i would be willing to let god have to take us out to the soccer field to have church because we rapidly outgrew this building if we would understand tonight that god wants to give us a harvest that would be mind-blowing god wants to give us a harvest that we got to learn how to stretch our minds to receive our bushel basket is not large enough tonight for the revival that god wants to give us how god wants to use our individual lives tonight is not large enough because by by a whole tonight we all believe that god could use about five percent of this church there's entire roles of young people tonight and more than likely that in tyrol has a mentality that god could use somebody else when the truth of the matter is god never invested the holy ghost in any of us for us just to sit here use it as a trick it and not do something with it god wants us to turn our world upside down and i gotta tell you tonight i to tell you tonight some people have a small cup that they believe the only time god can use them is behind a pulpit or in a church we don't have a big enough cup for what god wants to do we don't have a big enough basket for what god wants to do there's more that what god wants to do outside of these walls than what god wants to do inside of these walls i don't know what it was like i don't know it was a dream i don't know if god spoke to her in the middle of the day but god told the widow woman at zeropath i command you to sustain the man of god that is coming he arose and he came to xeropath and there she was there she was gathering two sticks they met and he said to her i want a drink of water she had no problem giving him a drink of water she had absolutely no problem giving the man of god a drink of water kind of like us we don't have a real problem giving the world a service if they'll come watch us man that's easy to give the world a good shouting apostolic church if they'll come watch us but god is calling us not to tell them if you'll come we'll be spiritual if you'll come we'll dance if you'll come i'm not knocking any of this because i'm telling you tonight god's got more than 50 dancers if we'll obey the will of god god's got 500 people that'll be doing this so we don't have any problem doing this but it's not god's will for us to wait till the fish get in the boat it's time for us to understand that we've got a lost and dying world and we need to become ever so mindful of open opportunities to share the gospel even when church is not going on stay with me for a few moments tonight she had no problem giving the prophet a drink of water for she turns to go get the water in the new testament jesus said that if we would give a prophet a cold cup of water what would we get a prophet's reward but you see what this woman doesn't understand is she needs more than a reward she's got a son that has a illness deep down inside of him she doesn't understand but on god's calendar that boy's death date is marked on god's calendar and if all i can give is a man of god a drink of water all i'm going to get is a reward i'm going to get a tax from the spirit i'm going to get a blessing i'm going to get some kind of financial blessing i'm going to get some kind of emotional blessing but what we need is more than an emotional blessing and a financial blessing i don't i don't know if you know it or not woman but you don't need a reward you need a resurrection the church doesn't need a reward tonight we need a resurrection we don't need half the youth group on fire we need all the youth group on fire we don't need 25 of the trendsetters on fire we need all of us on fire we don't need her we don't need a reward we need a resurrection he says to her he says i know you're willing to give me a cup of water but would you fetch me a little would you fetch me a little water but would you give me a morsel of bread here's where she stopped here's where she was only thinking about herself oh god deliver me from only thinking about myself you hear me tonight we will never become the church that god intends for us to come if we're always self-centered we'll have rewards i'm not telling you we're not going to shout we're not going to feel the holy ghost and every now and then prophecy is going to fall on pastor but we got to have more than a reward we got to have resurrection and a resurrection only happens when you don't think of yourself she stopped and she said wait a minute she said wait a minute lost and dying world to stop thinking about myself you're asking me to stop being self-centered you're asking me to start thinking about people i've never met you're asking me to start talking about people they may not smell good when they come here and they may not look good when they come here and they may be filled with all kind of hang-ups when they come here yeah that's right because the only way i'm going to have a resurrection in my family it's not going to go from generation to generation in the carpenter family if the carpenter family doesn't learn how to reach out to others and realize that what god gave us grandchildren for is not some pretty little thing to bounce on our knees but god gave us grandchildren to pour in them the gospel to pour in them the love of god to pour in them the burden for the work of god just lift up your hands right now tonight come on help me tonight if there's ever something in him he would like to oppress tonight he would like to oppress this message oh he would i can talk to them after church but this may be the last time i see this man this woman this boy this girl oh god i would like to see you standing in line to talk to the guests i would like to see the gas mob with people standing around them i know this is a hard saying tonight i know it's a hard saying tonight but there's people that work in the cubicle besides you who's who has been intrigued with your outward display of holiness but your outward display of holiness young lady does nothing to get them to appew your outward display of holiness young man does nothing to get them here until you're willing to take on the garment of jesus and wear the title that he wore friend of sinners friend of sinners you ought to live your life if you want to understand if you want to understand what the resurrection is you live your life looking for any opportunity to share a testimony and his first lady preached it this morning it may be it may be a testimony of simply telling someone jesus loves you it may be a testimony of simply telling someone jesus cares about them i'm telling you if you would just say a sentence or two you may not know the godhead you may not know questions of the book of revelation but you you could show yourself a friend to them they just may god just may get on them and bring them to the house of god and their lives can be changed because you care let's praise him right now let's come on let's let's really try to get under the load of this message tonight compassion compassion compassion she said all i have is enough for me and my boy all i care about is enough for me mine and no more i'll get broken over one of my children getting cold on god but i'll be unbroken over a lost world that i pass daily i'll make fun i'll make fun of them with all their piercings i'll make fun of them with all the weird hair news when all the time all of that stuff is screaming somebody reached me somebody reached me somebody loved me somebody care about me and it absolutely sends hell into shock waves when we don't consider ourselves what would somebody think if they saw me sitting down here what would somebody think that's where you got it wrong you got the water mentality you got to have the bread mentality i don't care what anybody thinks about it it's what that person looks and thinks they're talking to me they've spent time talking to me you mean to tell me i'm worth something that you would sit down and talk with me you know why some of them look the way they do those little girls have been called every vile name from the time they can understand language they've been called every vile name they could be called you know why they look like that as little boys that little boy has had several men come in and out of his mother's bedroom and he's filled with anger and he's just trying to find something come on apostolic church it's the day of compassion i want to give a world more than a cold drink of water i want to give the world more than a choir more than a song more than a good beat i want to give them some bread tonight you hear me compassion he said i'm telling you church if you will not think of yourself and if you will think of me first please put the analogy together if you will think about god's business first if you will think about what's on god's heart first can i tell you you need to look at everybody and think god loves them god loves him god loves him that woman that's been in and out of our church 50 times god loves them that man that's been in and out of our church multiple times god loves them that situation that you look at god loves him woman if you will not think about yourself and if you will think of others and make others the bread first you will live and your son for the rest of the days can i tell you you're going to die the times are demanding that we focus into our purpose if you are not so winning-minded your offense is just a week or so away you boast and brag that you'll stay here and nothing can get you out of this church if you don't have the purpose of the church your offense is in line to come to you and you'll join the long line of those that make their exit out and your lineage will be cut off some people are three and four generations into this but the sad thing is is that it's all about to end in the whole family lineage somehow it will have to start over again but i'm here to tell you tonight i'm here to tell you tonight if you can somehow shake yourself and understand that you're gonna have to hear some messages and it's not about blessing me and blessing mine it's not about prosperity it's not about a better job it's not about a better marriage it's not about a better emotional mind it's about reaching a loss and a dying world that needs what you know what you're really saying i'm minded about me i'm concerned about me it's too big for me it's too small for me we ought to reach everybody we can but we can't spend the majority of our thrust on people that have already made up their minds how much of god they're going to allow into their lives and i know tonight maybe some of you are watching me please don't misunderstand this that i don't love you or i don't care for you i do love you and i do care for you but you've heard the gospel you've had an opportunity to be saved some of you were in the church before i was even born and i love you and i'll pray for you and i'll be there for you but there's a lost world out there there are people out there that have never never never never heard this and i've got to equip the church to reach them they've never had an opportunity to be saved they didn't have an opportunity to get baptized they've never received it don't and i know i've had you standing i'm so sorry don't feel like you've missed it tonight there's two places in the book of acts brother cheshon peter walked into a house full of gentiles and said why did you all call for me so he was clueless philip gets gets carried away in the spirit stands at an intersection and sees a government official with a bible out reading it and had to have the spirits prompting to go over there you want direction tonight you
