Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The reading: the covenant cut in Genesis 15
- 'I am the Lord that brought thee out of the Chaldes, to give thee this land to inherit it.'
- At Abraham's 'whereby shall I know?' God answers with animals: a heifer, a she goat, and a ram of three years old, a turtledove and a young pigeon — divided in the midst, the birds not divided.
- The deep sleep and the horror of great darkness: the seed a stranger in a land not theirs for 400 years, then out with great substance.
Scriptures: Genesis 15:7-15
Believing God is not knowing God
- 'I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward' — but Abraham answers, 'What wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer?'
- 'Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them... So shall thy seed be' — and Abraham believed what God said.
- Believing is one-time; knowing is a relationship — he compares it to his own marriage: almost 42 years after the ceremony, he does not only believe they married, he knows her.
- Believing can be inexpensive; knowing God is costly, and the price is everything.
Scriptures: Genesis 15:1; Genesis 15:2; Genesis 15:5
Count the cost
- 'If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children... he cannot be my disciple' — against our love for God, every other love must look like hate by comparison.
- 'Whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.'
- The tower builder sits down first and counts the cost; the king consults whether 10,000 can meet 20,000; 'whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.'
Scriptures: Luke 14:26; Luke 14:27-33
Work out your own salvation
- 'At the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord' — that day is coming for every mocker and scoffer.
- The very next word is wherefore: 'work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.'
- Working it out is not earning it: it is getting what God put inside to the outside — dirty work, costly work, but worth it.
Scriptures: Philippians 2:10-11; Philippians 2:12-14
Split the heifer, split the goat
- Covenant is dirty work: the three-year-old heifer — an animal of work — had to be cut in two, and the parties walked through the blood; contracts are made to be broken, covenants are made to be kept.
- The backsliding heifer feeds and feeds and never works until, grown fat, she slides backward on the incline while still facing her master.
- The goat stands for sin and lust; it must be divided and crucified, not fed — make no provision for the flesh, in the home, on the screen, or alone with someone who is not your spouse.
- It will cost your pride: marriages are saved when mates come to the altar, hold hands, and forgive — 'good marriages are made out of mates that forgive one another.'

you would stand with me tonight. I I Lord willing I'll share with you great things happening in the country of Chile. and to all of our Chilean brothers and sisters that are watching tonight online. This time last night we were preaching there in Santiago, Chile and um we thank God for the great reports and I'll be sharing those reports here. Um I'll be sharing those great reports here. We are our goal is to have 100 churches. That is a goal that we have. When we reach that goal, we'll step it up. But with just a handful of people, just a handful of preachers, a few years ago, we went to Santiago, Chile. We organized them into the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. They told me that as of today, we now have 35 churches >> in Chile. Brother Selenus, we thank you. Come on. Can we Can we give our good Chilean We thank you. We love you. >> >> We'll be giving we'll be giving you a report on Wednesday night. Just a small report about what God is doing there in that country. The book of Genesis chapter 15 and verse number 7. Genesis chapter 15 and verse number 7. And he said unto him, God speaks to Abraham. And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of the land out of the Chaldes to give this land to inherit it. Abraham said back to God. He said, 'Lord God, what wil thou give me? What shall I know? Or whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? And he said unto him, God says back to Abraham, take me a heer of three years old, a shegoat of three years old, a ram of three years old, and a turtle dove and young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and lay each piece one against another, but the birds divided he not. And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram, and lo, a horror of great darkness fell upon him. God says to Abraham, "And he said unto Abram, know of assurityity that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them, and they shall afflict them 400 years. And also that nation whom they shall serve will I judge, and afterward they shall come out with great substance, and thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace. Thou shalt be buried in a good old age. tonight with the spirit of God for the last month dancing upon my mind in prayer about marriages and covenants. I want to minister tonight for a few moments on two simple words, covenant and commitment. Covenant and commitment. If you lay your Bible down for a moment and just close your eyes and let's talk to the Lord right now. Lord Jesus, I thank you tonight for all the worship. God, my heart leaps inside of me to see the excitement of our children, the the excitement of our youth. God, my heart leaps inside of me when I see the excitement of people as they are not ashamed to worship openly. God, I thank you, Lord, for the great enthusiasm, Lord, that's in this church, Lord Jesus, tonight. Would you touch my mind, Lord? Would you touch my body tonight? And would you just for a space of time, would you give me, oh God, clarity of mind, clarity of thought, Lord? Would you touch my body, Lord, and give me the strength to feed your sheep tonight, Lord? Let someone's heart be touched. God, we'll give you the praise and we'll give you the honor. In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen. Amen. Just for a moment before you're seated, from the bottom of your heart, lift your hands. Just tell God one more time how much you love him. I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. Yeah. I love you, Lord. I worship you, God. I worship you, Lord. I worship you, God. I love you, God. Oh, I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. Amen. You may be seated. The power of worship is strong. The power of worship has the ability to reach out. And if anything, the power of worship has the ability to stir curiosity in people. You see, it's not everybody that worships their God like you do. And when people that don't know our God like we know our God come in contact with people that worship like we do, it stirs up curiosity. Curiosity was present on the day of Pentecost because when the crowd heard them speaking in other tongues, they said, "What meanth this?" That was curiosity. Others said they're full of new wine, that's persecution. The persecutors may not be born again, but those that are curious can receive an answer. Brother Cheshan, it's so good to see you and Sister Cheshan tonight. And you're just about members here. Although you pastor in Crossville, you just about just about members here. I'll give you one little report of what happened in Chile. We were in a a building and thank God it was a air conditioning building. Thank the Lord. But they had the windows open, the doors open. The sounds of praise and worship flooded out into this market streets and across the street. They were having some kind of festival and there was hundreds literally across the street from where we were at. And uh as we ministered and preached the word, the altar filled up and uh I looked over and there was a Catholic priest standing there, his collar and everything. He was standing there and I went over and introduced myself to him. And he said, "I was just walking by." And he said, "I heard this." And he said, "I had to come in and see what was going on." >> And uh we talked for a little bit and uh shared with him some information. We're going to be in touch with each other and well, you know the rest of that story, don't you? Amen. God is good, isn't he? >> God God is good. Let me get to my text tonight. Abraham hears God in the 15th chapter of Genesis, Abraham hears God say, "I'm your shield. I'm your shield and you're exceeding great reward." And although Abraham hears God say, "I'm your shield and exceeding great reward," Abraham responds back to God with a doubtful remark. He says, "But what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eleazar?" And in in other words, what Abraham is saying is, "I'm tired of waiting on the promise. I just want you to accept Eleazar." uh a young man in a house as the heir. And God said, "He is not the heir." And he says to Abraham, he says, "Look up now toward the sky and count the stars if you be able to number them." And you can number them there. They're the number of your your your seed. So shall your seed be. And in a moment, Abraham establishes what begins our salvation. He establishes faith in what God says. Faith in what God says. He didn't understand it, but he looked up to the stars and he said, "God, if you said it, I believe it. I believe it. God, if you said it, God." And at that moment, God looked at Abram through different eyes. He looked at him through the eyes of I found a man who is standing righteous with me because he has believed my word. You know there is a difference between believing God and knowing God. And in the 15th chapter of Genesis proves this. There is a difference between you believing God, a lot of people believe God, >> but they don't know God. Because shortly after God says your seed will be as the stars of the heaven. And Abraham believed what God said. Then God says, Abraham, I'm going I brought you out of Caldes. I brought you out of your country unto a land that I am going to give you. I am going to give you the land. and he told him all the boundaries of the land. And then Abram says this word. He says, "How will I know that you're going to give me this land?" H how will I know? See, there's there's a difference between believing God and knowing God. As a matter of fact, the Bible uses the word know to describe intimacy between a man and a woman. It will say and Adam knew his wife and she bare Cain. It uses that word know because it is a word of relationship. It is it is a word not just believing that God can but believing and knowing that God will. He said, "God, how will I know that this will take place?" It's then that God introduces the doctrine of a covenant. The doctrine of a covenant sounds like a grocery list. He says, "Oh, do do you want to know that I'm going to do this?" How many want to graduate from just believing in God to knowing God? >> Come on. How many want to graduate from just believing >> to knowing? >> Believing is one time. Knowing is a relationship. >> You You see over almost 42 years ago now there was a ceremony. There was a wedding ceremony between my my wife and I and we were married almost 42 years ago. We were married. But I want you to know right now that that marriage, that ceremony can be likened to believing in God. But almost 42 years later, I not only believe that we got married, I know her. There's a covenant that we have. And so God says, "Oh, you you you want to go a step further, do you, Brother Mayo? Oh, Sister Wells, you you you want to go a step further from just believing that I can. You want to know? Well, if you want to know, Abram, I want you, verse number nine, I want you to take a heer of three years old, a shegoat of three years old, a ram of three years old, and a turtle dove, and a young pigeon. Now, I want to stop there. We we're going to we're going to keep going to those who are running the scripture. We're going to keep going, but want to stop there. Can I tell you something tonight that we all have to understand? Believing can be inexpensive, but knowing God is costly. >> Believing God can come because the preacher preaches you the word and faith ignites in your heart. It can be inexpensive. But to know God, you got to get ready to pay a price. If you want to know, you got to understand it's going to cost you something to know God. Can I go ahead and tell you the price? Everything. God either has all of you or God has none of you. He is either the Lord of all or he is not the Lord at all. He is not our Sunday God and our Wednesday night God. He is our God of seven days, 24/7. He is that kind of God. He's the God that wants you to know him when you get up in the morning. He wants He's the God that he wants you to know him at noon time. He is saying, "I want but but it's costly." If you want to know me, go get a heer of three years old. Go get a she goat of three years old. Go get a ram of three years old. Go get a turtle dove in a young pigeon. Can I tell you that was costly. Was costly. Everybody say costly. >> Going to cost you something. It's going to cost you. A preacher doesn't have enough hype messages to keep you in church. >> We don't have enough coaching ability to keep you in church. >> We don't have enough fuzzy warm feeling stories. Hallmark, apostolic hallmark. We don't have enough stories to tell you >> to keep you in church. If you're going to stay in church, it's going to be it's going to cost you something. >> The Bible says in Luke chapter 14 verse number 26, you go there with me. Luke 14:26, it says this. If any man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, yay, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Wow. Do you hear what Jesus just said? I have to love God. Now, here's the way he arranges it. He has to say in relationship to your love for me, it would almost appear that you would hate your mother, father, brother, and sister, wife, and your own self. He's not saying that. He would be contradicting his word because he said in his word to honor your father and mother. But when we're talking about the love that we have toward God, it is such a surrendering love. It is such a costly love that it causes everything else that we love to almost appear as something that we hate. Cost verse 27. Whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you intending to build a tower siteth not down first? I wish everybody say first. setth not down first. And what's he do? Are you reading along with me? What's he do? >> Counts what? >> The cost. Whether he has sufficient to finish it, lest happily that's by chance. After he hath laid the foundation, he is not able to finish it. All and all that behold it began to mock him, saying, "This man be be to build and was not able to finish it? Or what king going to make war against another king? Siteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with 10,000 to meet him that cometh against him with 20,000. Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambestage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciples. Please listen to me tonight. I know I'm not having to set you down. I know that hand clapping is not deafening right now, but I just got to tell you something. If you're going to know God, it's going to cost you something. If you're going to know God, you can say, "Well, I I I believe God can help us." That's good. You'll be there 10 years from now believing God can help you. But if you want to know God can help you, you got to step out into a covenant with God. >> It's costly. Everybody say costly. >> Abraham, you want to know? You want to know, Abra? Go get me a three-year-old heer. Go get me a three-year-old goat. Go get me a three-year-old um turtle ram, turtle dove. Let's go back to Genesis. Go get go get me all that because because it's going to it's going to it's going to cost you something. But now it's not only going to cost you something. Please hear me tonight. Please hear me. This covenant business is dirty work. It's hard work. Because not only is it going to cost me bringing these this heer of three years old, this ram of three years old, this goat of three years old, these turtle doves, it's not only going to cost me, I now have to get a knife out, brother Harpole. I now have to get a knife out. Now, we just kind of we just kind of kind of brush over this, you know, like it just happened, you know, like they had a a chainsaw or something right down the middle, you know, because God said, "Now, I want you to divide them in two. I want you to cut the three-year-old heer in two. I want you to cut it in two." Now, that would be no easy job to do. >> And a matter of fact, it'd probably be a messy job. All right? And I I I get a little we queasy on my stomach when I hear these hunters in the church. Yeah, we gutted that deer. And oh man, I you know then they take it home and mix it up. Every every every deer hunter has me over says, "Man, I got the best deer meat." What's it taste like? Like chicken. Thinking, well, I need to go to Kroger and get chicken. Amen. Are you with me tonight? If you want to have a covenant, it's it's dirty work. You got to divide that three-year-old heer in two. You you got to cut it in two. And I I don't want to get too graphic, but it's skull. You've got to cut its skull in two. Its brain, you've got to cut it in two. You got you got to split it in two. Its hind quarters, you got to split it in two. And And can't you see the blood to the elbows? Can't you see Abraham's legs bathed in blood and all kinds of inrols that are and he lays it one side here and another side here? Then he goes gets the goat and he does this. He's got half the heer here and half over here and half the goat here and half the goat here and half the ram here and half the the the other over here. And then he he said, "Don't divide the birds." So he puts the turtle doves on on both sides. Why is that? Because cutting a co cutting a covenant was that the parties making the covenant would walk through the midst of this blood and this gore. They would walk through together and they would make a commitment. It was not it it was something that you would not break. You see contracts are made to be broken but covenants are made to be kept. I don't know that in the 21st century of the American church today that we don't have an old contract and a new contract. But we have to understand it's a testament. It's a covenant. It is something that we enter into and we don't enter into it lightly but advisedly and in the fear of God. Because listen to me tonight. This is the Bible. It would be better for you never to have known the ways of God, to have embraced them, and to depart from them. I'm telling you tonight, be a serious person about your marriage. Be a serious person about your relationship with God. It's not a contract. It is something that we enter into. Now do you know that it is difficult to separate teaching on marriage and teaching on our walk with God? Why is that difficult? Why is it difficult to to to separate the two? Because they're are so closely entwined. >> Because a husband and wife relationship, brother Fenton, a husband and wife relationship represents Christ and the church. The husband represents Jesus Christ. The wife represents the church of Jesus Christ. The husband is to be sacrificial. The husband is to give himself to her. The wife is to give reverence back. That is worship. Stay with me tonight. Stay with me. And when we talk about our marriage and we talk about our relationship with God, can I tell you your marriage and your relationship with God is worth you spending everything of your life so that it is healthy. We say well I I give my wife this or I give him I give I give my husband this or I give him that. C can I can I tell you something tonight? God doesn't want our money. He wants our emotions. God doesn't want my heart. God God doesn't want Excuse me. God doesn't want my money. God doesn't want our money. God wants our heart. >> And it is possible for us to try to substitute money for our heart, but God doesn't take it. >> God wants our heart. And it's the same thing with our marriage. It's good that you put your family in a good house. It's good that you make money for them. It's it's good that you put them first as far as finances are concerned. But can I ask every father, every husband tonight, is your emotions tied to your wife? And is your emotions tied to your family? Because if there's not, sooner or later there's going to be an exit for you to get off. You are going to follow your emotions. I don't want my job to be my emotions. I don't want my hobbies to be my emotion. I want my wife to be my emotions. I want her to be the one that I'm emotionally attached to. I want her to be the one that I want to tell her the good news of my life. I want her to be the one that I when I've got heartbreaking news. Come on, somebody. When I've got heartbreaking news, I go to my wife. >> It's costly. It's costly. I want to show you something. The animal of the heer is an animal of work. That's what the heer would do. The hepher was an animal of work. Was a work animal. Listen to God. This is very simple tonight. But if you're going to have a healthy marriage, if you're going to have a healthy relationship with God, it's going to take work. work work and it's dirty work. Why is it dirty work? Because it involves the flesh. Philippians 2:10. Philippians 2:10. We all love to shout about this. That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow. Things in heaven, things in the earth, things under the earth. that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. We stop right there, don't we? Every one day, one day, one day, every me, every agnostic, every person that has defied God, every person that has wasted their life in trying to prove there is no God. Every mocker of the moves of God, every mocker of the word of God. Did we not just have our congressman here Friday? And did he not say in a classroom or maybe from the pullpit, "They hate what you're doing here." >> He said, "My mother and father, brother, Pastor Nolan told me that." said, "My mother and father told me the only way America would ever be turned around would be through Christian education >> because let's get our heads out of the sand tonight. There is a world with an agenda. >> There is a world we and we can go to sleep." But they're working to erase all the distinctions between a Now, now it's been a long time ago they've got away with the distinctions between a man and a woman with what they wear. Now they went even further. And they said, "No, there is no distinction at all. >> It's fluid. You wake up one morning and be a woman if you want to. You wake up one morning be a man if you want to. You can wake up one morning and be neither man nor female. You you you can be all this. This world's got an agenda. And we have to realize they've got an agenda. But one day, you hear me? Every knee is going to bow and every tongue is going to confess. Every mocker, every scoffer, every person that has blasphemed one day is going to bow their knee. I'm not saying they're going to be saved. I'm just saying they're going to bow their knee and they're going to confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father. That day is coming. But you know what? I'm glad tonight. I'm going to pay the cost right now. I'm going to come out from the world and I'm going to be separate. I'm going to pay the cost right now. Oh, God help me. But wait a minute. I'm not through reading that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ, that's verse number 12, verse 11, that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father. Verse number 12, somebody tell me what the first word in verse 12 is. What? >> Because of right. In light of wherefore. In light of not changing subjects. In light of my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more in my absence. work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which workketh in you both to will and to do his good pleasure. Do all things without murmuring and complaining. Can I tell you tonight it's costly. Can I tell you it's dirty? But in the midst of dealing with our dirty flesh and cutting a covenant with God and saying, "Here I am, God. You know what I'm doing? I am working out my own salvation with that." That that doesn't mean, "Oh my goodness, that doesn't Don't you let somebody tell you when you tell them that you got to be born again, the scripture says you got to be born again of the water and the spirit. You got to get baptized in Jesus name. You got to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. ies of the ways the the plan of salvation and somebody will flip the scripture and say, "Oh, the Bible says work out your own salvation in fear and trembling." Whatever you feel is that's the biggest bunch of baloney that you could ever be fed. That's talking to people that already have it in their heart. And Paul is saying, "Get in the inside and bring what's on the inside out to the outside. Work out your salvation. Work out your salvation. Work out your salvation. Get it out there. It's dirty work. It's costly work, but it's worth it. Work out your salvation. I wish you'd lift your hands right now, whether you're standing or sitting, and lift your voice up and be thankful that you can work your salvation. >> Oh, there ought to be more. There ought to be more than that. I promise you I'm not I promise you I'm not going to hold you. I I just I've just come to rescue some marriages in this church. I I I just come to tell you we don't have contracts. We have we have co we we have covenants that we do. I I've just come to tell you that your marriages we're fighting for. I've just come to tell you if you have feelings in your heart towards someone that's not your mate, you need to you need to work out your salvation. You need to take that dirty business to the altar and you need to be begin to confess. Jesus, you help me. Jesus, this is not Am I preaching to anybody tonight? Is there just anybody? Is there just anybody in here that needs to understand what's going on on the inside? You can't You can't master it on your own. You can't take care of it on your own. You need God. You need God in your life. You It's going to cost you something. >> >> You know, my God, I feel the Holy Ghost. You know what's going to cost you? It's going to cost you your stinking pride. >> I said it's going to cost you your stinking pride. That pride that you got on the outside. You're smug and tough and you've got it all right. And you know, I'm here. At least I'm here and I've got No, no, no, no. You're here, but you're not here. >> I said you're here, but you're not here. You're you're here. You're in the house, but but you're not in the house. If you if you if you know what I'm saying and you you know what may happen to save your marriage, you may have to lose that pride and just come walking to the altar saying, "God, help me. God, help me. It's costly. It's dirty, but it'll be worth it." >> Am I talking to anybody tonight? It's costly. >> It's dirty. Take the three-year-old hepher. That was a prime heer. Take the three old heer and cut her in part. It's going to be costly. Splitter down the middle. It's going to be dirty. But you know something? When God would describe a backslider? Do you know that God uses the phrase a backsliding heer? Why does he use the word a backsliding heer? I did some research on this is that the heer could become so fat feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, but never working, working, working, working, feeding, feeding, feeding. We got conference junkies. We've got podcast junkies. We've got church junkies. Hey, I'm looking for a word. And God is saying, I'm looking for you to change. I get calls from people, would you be my pastor? They don't mean it cuz they don't know me. And I can't know them. They don't kn o w me. And I'm sure I can't NO them. >> I'm not your pastor because I'm your hallmark pastor. >> I'm your pastor because I can N O. I can tell you it's dirty work. >> I can tell you it's going to cost you everything. I can tell you you you you better get your emotions straightened out, ma'am. Sister, you better get your emotions straightened out. I I don't care how good that man makes you feel on your job. I'm here to tell you right now, you better get that under the blood. You better get that in the altar before it wrecks and ruins your marriage before your life is a shipwreck. I'm just telling you tonight, there's a covenant and there's a commitment. It's not right. I don't care how good you feel about it. I don't care how well you're justified about it. I'm sounding the alarm. Pray. Pray. Pray. It's costly, but it's going to be worth it. It's going to be worth it. >> Feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding. Fat, fat. The reason it's called a backsliding heer is she would get so fat that when it would rain and she would be required to go up an incline, she would have her face pointed toward her master. But she was so large that her feet and her body would begin to slide backward while she was looking at her father, while she was looking at her master. The weight was pulling her away and away and away. Can I tell you that the heer wasn't made just to feed and feed and feed and feed and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, pleasure, pleasure, pleasure more and more and more and more. The heer was made to split down the middle and lay on both sides so that you and God can walk through the midst of that and make a covenant unto him. I'll go ahead and tell you right now, hey, some of you, I pastor you, but I'm going to tell you what I'm praying for you. You're prospering too much. Excuse me. I mean, Pastor Bill carpet don't prosper. I can give more. You're fat with the things of this world. You need to let that heer be split down the middle. >> >> You'll be seated for a moment. >> Take the heer. Split the heer. Then he said, "Take the goat." Shegoat. It's an interesting animal because the only time the animal the goat is mentioned in the Bible as far as a sacrifice is concerned. It's always in reference to sin. It's always an offering for sin. Another thing about a goat in the Bible, a goat is always made in in reference to the opposite of a sheep. We know that in the last day judgments of nations, the sheep nations shall be on the right. The goats shall be on the left. Why would a goat be chosen? Possibly Greek mythology. Greek mythology. The god Pan in Greek mythology, the god Pan is a halfgoat, halfh human deity. It is a halfgoat is a goat from the waist down and it is a man from the waist up. This god, this Greek mythology, this god pan embodies sexual desires and fertility. It embodies the untamed nature. His lust, his pursuits, his lust and pursuits were for one. This Greek mythology, this god Pan, this half goat, half man, this god of fertility and untamed nature. His ultimate pursuit was a certain maid that he w wanted to conquer. I don't care how much these young men and young women were dancing up here around the altar night. Praise God. That's good. But they still have flesh. And it wouldn't be good for them to go out the lover's lane tonight and part and get in the dark because you >> I don't care how much you talk in tongues and how much tithing you pay. It is not good for you to be alone with the opposite sex that is not your husband or that is not your wife. It is not good. Oh, y'all don't believe this tonight. I don't care how much revelation one God you got. I don't care how much years you got in the church. You're stinking flesh. And you need to split that goat down the center. That goat doesn't need to be alive. That goat needs to be split down the center. And you need to walk through that and say, "The heer is not getting fatter and backsliding, but the goat is not ruling my life. I'm not having lust rule my life. I'm not having the lust of flesh to rule my life. I'm not having the l >> >> Do you know why we have sexual perversion is because there's not the ultimate sexual relationship outside of marriage. You didn't hear me. >> You know why we have sexual perversion? People are looking for a sexual utopia outside of God's perfect plan. >> They'll never find it. >> Because the Apostle Paul said there's one sin. It's the only sin that is sinned against the body and it is a sin of fornication. Because when you sin fornication, when you get outside of the marriage or before you're married, you have sex with someone. I know that's a strong word. Maybe some of the moms, maybe you might, maybe you want to read my notes so you can grab your children's ears. But I will tell you this, your child probably knows a whole lot more about the subject than what you really realize they know about it. And what we need to do is to amen a redfaced, Holy Ghost fililled pastor that's trying to keep you out of a horrible divorce and say, "God, he's preaching it. God, he's preaching it.
