thank God thank God thank God thank God thank God I need I need you praise God he is the vine and we are the branches he is the Potter and we are the clay he's the air that we breathe in him we live and we move and we have our our being probably my all-time favorite song they just sing I need Thee Oh I need thee I need the gun well I want to say praise the Lord everyone tonight I know that you're having the most blessed Resurrection Sunday and here we are once again gathered around our living rooms gathered around the computers and monitors and what have you here we are having church and worshipping God and having Church having church we are having having church we are getting reports of getting reports of people prodigal sons and daughters around computer screens and tears flowing and family members praying one with another and thank God for that brother Erickson said that the church was open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to take tithes and offerings and that we are but we're also open seven days a week 24 hours a day for anyone that wants to be baptized in the lovely name of the Lord Jesus Christ you're under the sound of my voice tonight and you've been contemplating being baptized in Jesus name then I want you to make a call to the church office and we'll baptize you in the wonderful name of Jesus we baptize them into our family this week mom dad and three precious young daughters Angie this name and we're so thankful so thankful for that this evening on this Easter evening service you have your Bibles with with you I'd like you to turn them to second Kings second Kings chapter four verse number one second Kings chapter four and verse number one now they're tried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets and to Elisha saying thy servant my husband is dead and thou knowest that thy servant did feel the Lord and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondman and Elisha said unto her what shall I do for thee tell me what has thou in the house and she said thy handmaid have not have not anything in the house save a pot of oil then he said go borrow the vessels abroad of all thy neighbors even empty vessels borrow not a few and when thou art come in doubt shalt shut the door upon the end upon thy sons and shall pour out into those vessels and thou shalt set aside that which is full so she went from him and shut the door upon her and upon her sons and who brought the vessels to her and she poured out it came to pass when the vessels were full that she said unto her son bring me yet a vessel and he said unto her there is not a vessel more and the oil stayed then she came and told the man of God and he said go sell the oil paid our debt and live thou and thy children among the rest kind of a lengthy title tonight but it sums up what I want to leave us with on this Easter Sunday our need for the Spirit of God our our need for the Spirit of God and I've got good news about the Spirit of God the world didn't give it to us and the world can't take it away but our knee is of the Spirit of God father I love you tonight ask your Lord to anoint my lips of clay father help me to feed your sheep tonight you said in your word that if I loved you that I would feed your sheep I pray tonight that I would be able to educate edify and evangelize tonight by the help of God by your Spirit in Jesus name we pray amen and amen you may be seated god bless you our need our need for the Spirit of God he is the air that we breathe he is that one essential thing that we need for spiritual life we are in need of the Spirit of God we understand that this Old Testament event has been left to us for our learning it's been left to us as an example it's been left to us for us to examine this event and for us to be able to learn from this and see how God provided for this widow woman and extract the spiritual truths that can become reality to us today we know that the burst begins tonight and it says now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets now there cried the reason this woman is crying she is a woman that has got caught in a most desperate dire need she has she is desperate because she is living in a desperate season of her life it has been said that desperate times call for desperate actions desperate times call for desperate actions I don't know if this woman was much accustomed to lifting her voice above a normal talk but there was a situation that came her way to where she felt it need for to cry out to the man of God she felt it need 'fl to lift her voice up and she cried to the men of God and she told the man of God of her desperate situation that her husband which was one of the sons of the prophets that Elijah was training but he was not only just one of the sons of the prophets he was not just in Elijah's Bible College but he was also close enough to be Elijah's personal servant she lives her voice up in desperation and she says to Elijah my husband thy servant is dead my husband who also was your servant it's dead and the desperate situation that I'm in is that we are in debt and that the creditor is come and he has come to take our two sons to be bun Minh he has come to put our two sons to labor our two sons are going to be taken and put in the fields and they're going to labor from daylight to dark they're going to become bondman until they pay the debt that has that is old we understand how this would have affected this entire family here it's bad enough that the husband has died but if the two sons the only way this woman could have any kind of help if the two sons were taken from her who's going to provide for her now we step outside of the natural provisions of water and meal and protection but that paternal love that that mother had for those two boys is bad enough that we've lost my husband it's it's it's bad enough that he has died but now the creditor has come and the creditor wants my two boys our two sons to be bonded if the bondman if the creditor is allowed to follow through these two boys are going to miss valuable years of their life when they could be preparing themselves for the future when these two boys could be doing an occupation that would help set them up they're going to be working in somebody else's field they're going to lose valuable years of their life and myself what should I do when I perish what should I do with the years of my son being gone it's interesting too when you begin to look at it the husband was the connector between the widow and Elijah she the husband was the connector it was that thing that put that entire family into connection with Elijah the name Elijah is an interesting name because it means God is my salvation it means God is my salvation when what we see here this evening is the connector between this family and the god of my salvation has died the connector is dead what connected man to God has died but now my husband is dead her desperate plate is my husband my connector is dead and because the connector is dead the creditor has moved in when the connector dies the creditor the bondman the one that wants to come and totally put an end to the family the creditor is there because the connector the connector has died I'm reminded here when I tell you that when the connector died the creditor came I'm reminded of the time that Paul was telling the church at Ephesus that he was going to depart from them he said there's coming a time that I'm going to leave here and he said I know that when I leave grievious wolves shall enter in not sparing the flock Paul left us with the word there that as long as there was an apostle paul as long as there was an apostolic preacher an apostolic preacher of Prayer and apostolic preacher doctrine an apostolic preacher of righteousness that one man's life could hold at bay the Wolves of demonic spirits that wanted to tear the church up this woman said the connector is dead and the creditor has come what am I going to do men of God no wonder this woman no wonder this woman is lifting your pre voice and crying out in desperation because her husband the connector has died and now the creditor is knocking at the door the man of God hears the cry of the woman the men of God hears Elijah the god of our salvation hears the cry tonight can I tell you that God has never has never and will ever turn a deaf ear to anyone that cries out to him in desperation ho praise God God will never turn a deaf ear how desperate you are tonight are you desperate enough there in your living room to just lift your hand and say Jesus would you help me are you desperate enough are you desperate enough dad or is it tonight that you're too concerned with those sitting there you want to let you want them to think that you've got it all together I'm telling you desperate times are going to call for desperate measures and we need to be able to cry out to the god of our salvation we understand that Elijah answered her the god of our salvation because the god of our salvation is always answered when we cry and Elijah said unto her in verse number 2 what shall I do for thee tell me what is thou in the house what hast thou in the house one verse two questions he asked two questions in this one verse he said what shall I do for you that's the first question what shall I do for you in other words he wants her to know that if you're looking to flesh for help flesh it's going to let you down if you're looking for me if you're looking for me to help we've got to understand that our help comes from the Lord too many people tonight too many people tonight are looking to flesh to help them but just come in a day that flesh is not going to be able to help you there's coming a day that you're not going to be able to help yourself and that's come in a day that somebody that you know is not going to be able to help yourself so Elijah begins to set out and say I want to settle this right now what am I to do in other words how can I help you what shall I do for you oh I'm reminded of the psalmist in Psalms 120 1 verse number 1 listen closely I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help he said I'm gonna get a posture because I'm gonna lift my eyes up toward heaven because when I can't help myself and when nobody that I know can help me out of the dilemma praise God I can lift up my eyes toward the hills from which cometh my help but wait a minute verse 2 says my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth what have I to do he's trying to get this woman to know that your connectr is not the flesh but your connectr is the Spirit of God I like Psalms chapter 46 and verse number one it's got a lot of good truths to it it says in verse one God is our refuge and strength a very present help in the time of need look at that just not a present but a very present help in the time of need years ago we sang the song he was there all the time he was there all the time waiting patiently in line he was there all the time I wonder tonight as you and I wring our hands over trouble I wonder is you and I wring our hands over the uncertainty of our future with empty shelves in the grocery store and layoffs lips coming and the uncertainty of the future I wonder if God isn't waiting upon us instead of looking to somebody that can help us and somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that can get us a job I wonder if God's gonna get us to the place until we begin to say it's the Lord that's my helper he is a very present help in trouble therefore will not we fear though the earth be removed though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea though the waters thereof roar and be troubled though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof Selah now he begins to tell us about God being our help in the time of need and then he uses the word though he uses the word though the definition of the word though is in spite of possibilities in spite of possibilities in other words he is saying here though the earth be removed in other words there's a possibility that the earth would be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea there's the possibility it's not that it's happened it's the though though the mountains be carried into the sea though the waters thereof roar and be troubled though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof Selah now eating this word Selah there means to pause and think about the those pause and think about the possibilities of things that could happen and after you think about the possibilities for those then he starts out with verse number four there is a river I want you to understand that in this song there are four those and there is one there because there is not abode there is not of though it is a fact there is a river though the mountains shake that's a possibility though trouble comes that's a possibility for the for those that we have the possibilities will the grocery stores be empty will the hospitals not be admitting anyone will the a total crash of the economy be I don't know those are those but I have a connector because the Bible says there is a river praise God not though there is a river there is a river there is a source the streams thereof make glad the City of God the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High God is in the midst of her and she shall not be moved God shall help her and that right early he said there is a river can I tell you tonight our greatest need is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of God is not although the Spirit of God is there jesus said in John 7:37 that if we would believe on him according to the sure out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water I can't tell you about the big-box stores I can't tell you if there's gonna be a cure for this but I can tell you that there is a source and his name is Jesus and if we call upon him he's never turned a deaf hear nor turned his eyes away from the cry and the call of his people I believe we need to give God a praise that there is a rhythm Oh in the book of Habakkuk in the book of Habakkuk it talks about such a troubled time Rebecca talks about his stomach quivering chapter 3 talks about so many things that could happen and it comes down to verse number 17 of Habakkuk chapter 3 and it begins because it said 16 verses of everything possible that can happen but then Rebekah brother Haman he responds to it and then he says although now I reckon although means all those all those possibilities that can happen now what we gonna do is the church to all those possibilities that may happen what are you going what are you and I gonna do because the eyes of the world as never before it's upon the church the eyes of your family they've seen your dedication of the house of God they watched you build the marival miracle they see how faithful you've been to the house of God and the eyes of all the world your neighbors there upon them and Rebekah cries out in Rebecca 3:17 although the fig tree shall not blossom neither shall the fruit being the vines the labor of the olives shall fail and the field shall yield no meat the flock shall be cut off from the flow and there shall be no herd in the stalls he said although all these things happen there's no herd in the stall there's no flock in the fold there's no olive in on the trees there's no fig tree that's gonna blossom he said yet will I rejoice in the Lord I will joy in the God of my salvation the Lord is my strength and he will make my feet like Hinds feet and will set me and make me to walk upon my high places to the chief singer on my stringed instruments Rebekah said although you put me in a situation of great catastrophe although you put me at all these situations I am going to praise the Lord because desperate times call for desperate action I am going to cry out to the God of my salvation we have jobs failing we have our government bewildered our savings are dwindling what we gonna do are we gonna do man of God the creditors come man of God the creditor is tough what have I to do with you you looking to me for help the second question what do you got in the house what do you have what do you have in the house second Kings four and two what do you have in the house and she said thy handmaid hath not anything in the house save a pot of oil he has two things who you lookin to for help and what do you have in the house she said all I've got and yet to study this out it's my husband my husband my connector to you all I have is his old anointing flash all I've got is that little leather pouch that when he would go to Bible College and he would walk by your side he wore that little leather pouch that that that anointing flask it had anointing oil that that oil that was the connector between God's Spirit and mankind whatever that oil touched it's sanctified it if you put oil up on a chair it became not just an ordinary chair but he became a holy chair if you put oil upon the garments of the priests you put it all up on the coats he became not just any coat but it became a holy coat if you put oil upon the head of a person they became not just an ordinary person but they became a holy person he said she said I've got that oil that once it touches something it causes it to be holy oh yes he said I want you to take what you've got I'm gonna tell you dwindle the church down to nothing and we've got the Spirit of God that will help us to rebound the Church of the Living God the believer will never be eradicated because he takes everything away from us and we have that anointing flash of oil we have that touch of the Holy Ghost we have that spirit of the Almighty God all that Spirit of God oh that Spirit of God oh praise God that spirit that came to our lives that day when we were ordinary people when we had an ordinary future and we were just going through ordinary life but we got into a church service and the Holy Ghost the oil of God came down upon our lives and before we knew it we were filled with God's Spirit it changed our lives we were never the same again hi I have often encouraged myself in times such as the knowing what happened to me as a 16 year old boy made his way that night in Knoxville to the Apostolic Church just a 16 year old boy went to church that night farthest thing from my mind was receiving the Holy Ghost but the Spirit of God begin to move the presence of God begin to move in that place and I looked up and and there was a precious lady she's went on to be with the Lord now but there was a precious lady that was playing the Hammond organ and then I looked up and I declare to tell you it looked like that woman had fire in her eyes and she motioned like this for me to come to the altar now I had said in that church before I had fought off many all for calls by some of the best evangelists that that could come through I had fought off altar calls by some of the best evangelists that had come through but that night when that woman sitting on that Hammond organ did like this to me meaning you come to the altar I put my face down I just looked down to the floor to to to hope that she didn't see me do this and she had and so the next thing that I knew I looked up and somebody touched me on the hand and it was that woman and she looked at me and I knew declare it looked like Martha Lee had fire in her eyes and she looked at me and she said isn't it time for you to come to God I said yes ma'am and I've made my way out of that pew and I went down to the altar that woman led me down to the altar and there at the altar somebody lifted my hands and I remember somebody saying say I love you Jesus and I remember saying I love you Jesus and when I did it happened just like I'm telling you it happened just like I'm telling you I said the words I love you Jesus I felt some cool sensation come across my ankles I felt something down around my feet I did feel something praise God I won't tell you something I know it's not all in the shell but there's something in the shaft I know it's not all in the emotions but thank God for them no so salvation thank God was something you can feel and I remember I said I love you Jesus and I felt something around my feet and then somebody yeah they said it again and they said say I love you Jesus I felt something around my my knees I felt that same it was almost like water was increasing I felt something around my knees and somebody said say it again I said I love you Jesus and I felt something up around my chest and by this time I'm beginning to agree with myself that this feels good this feels good it's better than any marijuana joint it's better than any bottle of liquor it's better than any half from some kind of pill I remember thinking to myself this feels good and then if I ever heard the voice of the adversary I heard him plainly in my mind say these words you are about to make a fool out of yourself you're about to make a fool out of yourself I believe that was the enemy he knew in the presence of God he's going to lose every time the enemy your enemy your adversary knows that he's going to lose you every time you get in the presence of the Lord because the anointing breaks that yoke and I remember somebody held in my ear sat again and I said I love you Jesus and I want you to know that that same way that started at my ankles in that same wave that was about my knees in that same way that hit me in my chest it went plumb over my head and the next thing I knew brother Noland I was laying flat on my back I was laying fighting flat on my back and I remember that night I remember driving to church or riding with my mother who took me to church and I remember looking down and noticing that my mother had red high-heeled shoes on I remember it's amazing how I just look down and so that momma had red high-heeled shoes on and when I come to myself at the altar I come to myself I looked out the corner of my eye and my momís to red high-heeled shoes were like to singer sewing machines going up and down up and down up and down and I should remember I remember laying there on the floor and the power of God was touching my body and I can remember I have to remember my turn was just moving I have no control I had no control over my tongue my tongue was just what's just moving it way was just moving my mother my mother asked me after church she said when you fail in the floor did you hurt yourself I said no why she said because you kept rubbing the side of your face I said mama I thought that what had happened I thought that string that holds your tongue down had come loose and I thought my tongue was hanging on the outside of my face and I was trying to put my tongue back in my mouth but every time I try to put it back in my mouth I would begin to talk in tongues again as God filled me with the Holy Ghost let me tell you something that happened to me over 40 years ago over 4 decades ago God gave me that but any time things get rough any time things go haywire in my life any time things go haywire I go back right back to that night when God filled me with the Holy Ghost because it's my connector between me and my god oh yes friend that's nothing like receiving give to the whole he said what do you have in the house oh my god is that anointing oil that's all I got is that anointing oil cruse of oil that little flask of oil he said I want to get your family the whole family involved in the miracle a lot of things done in the Old Testament have spiritual significance in the New Testament the word of the Lord said I want you to go find empty vessels I want you to go find empty vessels can I tell you if there's ever been a day right for revival today's right for revival there's more people that are empty today there's more people that are empty this Easter evening and they've ever been empty before they're empty the future is uncertain their bank accounts are empty their health is empty the lives are empty suicide is running rampant because that's what happens when people feel empty there's no hope saw was empty he fell on his sword hit my fellow was empty he committed suicide Judas you want Judas he was empty he tried to buy back what he saw he was empty get the whole family dog he said I want the boys to go out I want the two boys that the creditors want to make bondman and I want to make a Vangelis out of them I want them to go up and down the roads and I want them to borrow vessels but not just any kind of vessel empty vessels you see the night God can't work on a full vessel that's why you have to empty yourself in repentance in order for God to begin to work you have to confess to God that you're helpless you have to confess to God that you need his help not his aid you need his help so go out and borrow empty vessels and after you borrowed all these empty vessels I want you come in and I want you shut the door she took her husband's old anointing flask and she begin to pour into this vessel and I don't know how many ounces that that that flask held but it soon became noticeable that God was anointing the oil God was anointing God is touching the oil if we first Apostolic Church of marijuana first Apostolic Church of severe MO if we will understand what got the world didn't give it to us and what we've got the world can't take away if we will begin to remember just like I remembered my experience if we will begin to tell our story there's going to be empty people that want to hear it borrow the empty vessels they brought them back they borrowed the empty vessels and she began to pour the oil then she said bring me another bring me another vessel and they said to her in verse number six there is no more vessels and then the Bible simply says and the oil stayed and the oil state because the oil of God's Spirit doesn't pour out unless it's something empty to be poured out into God's Spirit can't move in our homes when we are full of financial things and we are full of false securities of this world the Spirit of God keep moving our lives when we're full of ourselves I don't care I thank God for how how professional the praise till I thank God for all the things that God has given us width to have Church but there's nothing that will ever take the place of God's Spirit it's nothing that you can't do nothing lights to touch somebody you can't get enough smooth you touch somebody you you can't get enough of thanks on the walls to touch people it's gonna take the spirit of God's Spirit it's gonna take the Spirit of God bring me another vessel said there is no there's there's mama there's not another vessel and when there was no and no more empty vessels in the house there was no more dripping of the oil and the man of God said I want you to go your way sell the oil pay the debt live on the rest and you know the children can I tell you when the creditors at the door to take our children when the creditors at the door to run our lives we have the Holy Ghost we have the Spirit of God that's there to help us in your Easter box in your Easter box there was communion and we took communion this morning thank you brother Noland and I want you to pitch in your Easter box today and get out your vial of oil there was a little container there it has oil that oil is symbolic of the Spirit of God know I know tonight I know that what I'm about to ask I know it may seem foolish and there's probability that there'll be many people that this is just too foolish for you you you've been in church so long but you wouldn't need anything like this here you're so full of your tenure in church you're so full of how much you think you know you you might not even reach over in your box and even even get this out because you've got enough money you're wise enough dad you got it all together mom so I'm well I understand that what I'm about to ask that there there will be some of those that just be too foolish for you to do this but I want every husband to anoint their houses with this tonight I want every husband to anoint a doorpost a cabinet to anoint something in your house this evening that would be the place if there's ever been a time that our homes need the Spirit of God it's today if there has ever been a time so I know if this works or not well I'm tell you this I've got a father-in-law that's went on to be with the Lord now his name was Tommy Maynard he loved the Lord he had for many years but his denomination did not teach and embrace the receiving of the Holy Ghost they they told him that once he believed upon Jesus he was filled with the Holy Ghost they didn't teach baptism in Jesus name and but my mother-in-law sister Maynard she saw the truth from the scripture and she repented was baptized felt the Holy Ghost saw the revelation of Jesus being God now she she hid with a man she went to the Apostolic Church and he went to his denominator CH but on every day she'd take tracts and bring him up to the front of the church and have some of the elders oh I know it kind of looks to come with silly she'd had elders anoint them tries she'd go home just lay them tracks on the kitchen table on the nightstand she told me once she said I I came in from one said Tommy shuffled real quickly to put the tracks under the newspaper said I'd actually come in caught him reading the tracks that I was leaving several years went on and she kept anointing them tracks and Tommy had a very serious car wreck out here on our call highway he lay in a coma for weeks at UT Hospital hanging between life and death we would go see him he was in a coma we would go pray for him he was in a coma which standbys med and after several weeks he came out of his coma and when I went in the room to sing he's bought him let begin to quiver he spoke to me in a different tone he said Kenny you've got to go home you can't stay up here like your state up here I said tell me you're okay I've just come to visit you today I he said no he said every time I open my eyes he said you're at the foot of my bed praying for me he said I you've got to go home you gotta tend to your family well he got a pass on Christmas name from the hospital Tommy got a pass to go to church on Christmas Day mommy lost him when she pulled up out of the neighborhood you turn right to go to his church where she would drop him off and left to come to the Apostolic Church she said if she got up there to that stop sign that morning said Tommy just looked over and said daddy turn left turn left peti turn Allah they will leave him that church that Sunday morning up on the hill we begin to have a victory March he was in a wheelchair they began to have a victory March how I was wondering how my father-in-law was reacting to this victory March I saw him turn around and tell somebody something and what he was telling them would you push me in that victory March and they begin to push brother main and around that Sunday more i baptize my father-in-law in the name of jesus christ now now he hadn't received the Holy Ghost yet he hadn't received the Holy Ghost yet few weeks went by maybe a few months went by and sister Dorothy Davis had fallen asleep she had fallen asleep on her way from work one morning she had run over an embankment and down down into a gully the windshield had broke it had taken her and it had cut her to pieces it had actually stopped it took her hair line and just peeled it back she was cut cut all up she doesn't remember how she got out of the car she doesn't remember crawling up inmate mint but a man passing by on the highway out here saw her sitting indian-style on the white line and he called an ambulance and they they came in got her and I remember going to the emergency room and she sister Davis was all cut up and she's still in love with Jesus she said well Carter said I'm mad at the Lord this morning I said well do what she said why didn't he just go ahead and take me said that wasn't a perfect time said I kind of woke up in heaven and said my sister Davis the Lord's got his hands and well she had to stay quite a while at UT Hospital Tommy hadn't got the Holy Ghost yet Tommy and Betty went up to the hospital to pray for her and while Tommy was listening to Norfolk Davis testify about wanting to go home God begin to touch Oh Tommy and Tommy begin to pray and right there I don't know what room it was at UT Hospital but right there in UT I spilled my mother-in-law looked across the bed and watch God feel Tommy Maynard with the Holy Ghost he began to speak in other tongues you see some may look at this some may have looked at sister Maynard there that woman is again with those tracks but God said I'm gonna put my spirit on them tracks man of the house get up right now and go annoy some part of your family huh I want to show you on the screen besides my relationship with Jesus Christ what means the world to me you see that picture there on the screen the most valuable things in my life for on that screen my precious wife beside me and she's probably gonna really get onto me for telling you this but those of you listening would you pray for sister carpenter we we've been riding bicycles the last few days and she had a bicycle rack out in front of the house and broke one of her ribs and so would you pray would you pray for her let's pray for our families fathers get up in those couches and you'll put some oil on a part of that that home right now father in the name of Jesus I pray over my family today I pray over my family right now God you know what I pray that you'll give me wisdom to lead my family I pray God that you give me as the head of the house the wisdom to lead my family Lord God I pray this evening God that you touching my wife God she needs a healing in her body God they've told her that she'll be weeks recovering from this but God I know you're able to touch her right now Lord you're able to heal her right now when I pray for my family I pray God that you would touch y'all touch our house God touch my three children Lord y'all touch spelling and Chad my son-in-law touch my granddaughter's Paris twins are in London you're not touching my daughter Laura and my son-in-law Zach my two grandsons Beckham in Hampton God Lord I ask you to touch my son Nolan my future daughter-in-law Flannery God Oh God touch my family Lord may the blood be upon the omega blood me up on them right now god I pray over my family right now God y'all pray your hand would be upon us Lord well God be upon our marriages god god me up on my marriage lord help me to love pity the way that you would have me to love her y'all help me to be the husband to her that I need to be Lord you ought to pray for Chad and Fallon's marriage and Zack
