you have your Bibles with you this morning if not direct your attention to the screen Acts chapter 2 and verse number 47 Acts chapter 2. in verse number 47. excuse me Acts chapter 2 see I'm there's a little bit behind that I gave my scriptures to the tech team today and we have a little meeting before church to kind of line everything out um and they came and they said pastor said no we can't find we can't find Acts 4 42. and uh it's because there's not Acts 2 Acts chapter 2 and verse 42 Acts chapter 2 verse 42. while you're looking for that we're so glad to have Andrew and Jackie Leatherwood with us today and and this is uh some some Ken sister Donna Prather today but also these are two of sister Carpenter's Bible studies and so we're so glad we're so glad to have them in the house of the Lord Andrew got it he works some shift work and it got turned around Andrew is so good to see you and Jack in the house of the Lord today and they've been having a Bible study supposed to go 10 weeks but I think they've been at it for a year or two now so we'll we're just so thankful to see them today also two very very special people in my life or have had birthdays I believe Sutton's birthday am I correct is it today is that Gene Sutton's birthday today can you imagine how does it feel like to be 104. I I appreciate real Sutton uh a lot he's kind of a go-to guy when I need something I can call him and I appreciate I appreciate real Sutton and happy birthday to him and then the other special person in my life today and I'll just tell you if you don't have a good mother-in-law I can't relate to you all right I cannot I don't I don't do mother-in-law jokes because I just got the best I truly do I have got the best mother-in-law in all the world there could not it's just a Betty Maynard is the best mother-in-law I think she feels like if she really knew how good I was she would have had me before she did Penny all right but uh and matter of fact sister Carpenter will tell you he said my mother loves him more than she loves me all right well we know that that is true but anyway let's go to the word let's go Acts chapter 2 Acts chapter 2 and verse number 42 why don't we read it all together that would be good if we just read it all together and they continue steadfastly in the apostles Doctrine and fellowship and in Breaking of bread and in prayers I'm going to start a series this morning I'm going to start a series and the series is entitled determined determined to know the doctrine determined to know the doctrine there's some preaching that's inspirational brother Wimberley it gets something on you but there's some preaching that's instruction that gets something in you and I'm going to tell you for the next few Sundays about the help of God I want to get something in you determined to know the doctrine father I love you thank you for this day thank you for the privilege of preaching your word today thank you that many years ago you called me I thank you Lord for the anointing and the unction that you'd give me but Lord I also pray today that there will be receivers in this place God I pray there will be men and women whose hearts are open to your word that they are determined they are determined to know the doctrine and I'll give you praise in Jesus wonderful name we pray amen and amen you may be seated this morning determined determined to know the doctrine now this is very interesting and very needful today because in the realm of denominations and religions Doctrine has almost became an ugly word it's almost something that people want to shy away from I've heard people say things like well we don't preach Doctrine at our church we preach Jesus at our church well that is the doctrine that is the doctrine for the word Doctrine the word Doctrine simply means instructions that's all it means is instructions means you have been you have been instructed now we know that the first century Church that Apostolic church that Pentecostal Church that was birthed on the day of Pentecost you know it's a it's it's really very needful as you witness to people about this truth that one of the one of the things you'll find helpful is to find what you agree upon and work from there find what you agree on and try to find something you agree on and then from that agreement Point work on out from that do you know all denominations regardless of what the title is all of us agree that the church the Ecclesia the spiritual body of Christ on this Earth was birthed at Pentecost it was birthed with the coming of the Holy Ghost upon the 120 Disciples of Jesus Christ and everyone says the church was birthed on the day on the day of Pentecost we know as the second chapter of Acts is unfolded that Peter began to preach the only would you say the only would you say it again would all of you say it the only Plan of Salvation the only gospel and that is the death burial and Resurrection of our Lord and savior of whose there is no other name under heaven given that we must be saved and Peter preached that death burial and Resurrection and when he did they were pricked in their heart and they said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren that's another good little nugget of Soul winning when you go to soulwind when you go to soulwind have a brotherly Spirit among you because when Peter got through preaching they said back to him men and brethren what shall we do and of course Peter told them in Acts 2 38 to repent and to be water baptized that's going to happen here in a few moments to be water baptized in once again in that name that there's no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved in that name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and there were three thousand wow what an addition there were 3 000 people that day that stepped up believed the gospel repented of their sins was water baptized I think some time ago I did the math I think each each Apostle maybe had somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 to to baptize that day there was water there there were large pools of water that were for the washing of the Jews in their rituals so there was the water there there was the apostles there and they baptized them but it didn't stop there it didn't stop there the Bible says in Acts chapter 2 verse 42 that I read that I read to you and they continued steadfastly steadfastly that's an interesting word steadfastly it's almost like glue it's almost like Pursuit of something that you don't want to get out of your sight they steadfastly stayed in the fellowship prayers and the breaking of bread they steadfastly stayed into the apostles the apostles Doctrine the apostles Doctrine the apostles teaching well the apostles was teaching now it's very interesting that we make a small turn here because Doctrine is only as good as scripture so what what makes what makes the apostles Doctrine so important what makes their Doctrine important is scripture the importance of scripture because if a Doctrine is not backed up by scripture the doctrine has no life-changing power and can even be something that would distract you away from Doctrine with scripture but if Doctrine has scripture to it Doctrine has scripture then Doctrine has power because the scripture has power the Bible that we preach from the Bible that we read from the Bible that we allow to be accomplished the Bible that we allow to be the instructor and the counselor of Our Lives the thing that that we change decisions of our minds because somebody says but the Bible says you see when when you're when you're trying to figure out decisions in your life if somebody can come up to you and say but the Bible says that's the end that's the final say because if the Bible says something it doesn't matter what anyone else says the Bible is true and man's word is false can you say Amen so again knowing determined determined determined to know the doctrine the doctrine is only as powerful as the scripture well let's go to Second Timothy chapter 3 in verse number 15 and let's find out let's find out what makes the scripture powerful what makes that book you hold in your hands what makes it powerful Paul speaking to Timothy he says to Timothy Timothy that from a child thou Hast known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise and to Salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus now let's look at the power of the scripture let's look at the power of the scripture let's look at the reach of the scripture today you see Paul said from from a child you have known the scripture from a child you've known the scripture that's why we have Sunday School going on right now with your children why it's not just to get them out of here so that you can pay attention to grown-up scriptures it's not just to get them out from under your feet this morning so that we don't have to hear them uh talking out or they don't have to be on the Pew with us or we're too crowded in here that's not the reason we have Sunday School we have Sunday school this morning because in these classes there is a Spirit-filled teacher that is teaching the scripture why because from a child you can know the scripture Paul said you have known the scripture from a child which is able to make the wise unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ in other words it is the scripture that directs you to Jesus Christ it is the scripture that directs you to the Plan of Salvation let's read on but what makes the scripture powerful verse 16. oh I say all all say it again please oh scripture all scripture now be redundant a little bit facetious not most of them don't ever listen to anybody that tells you oh that part of the Bible is not for us you don't have to read the Old Testament anymore all scripture all scripture not most scripture but all scripture in some form or another is put there to be able to connect all the dots in God's great plan don't you don't you love when you were small when you when you when when they give you that that book and it had connect the dots that was one of my favorite I never could stay in the lines with crayons that was one of my favorite things to connect the dots because you just look at the page you look at the page and it's just a bunch of dots but when you begin to connect the dots Mickey Mouse shows up or uh or or or some animal shows up when you connect the dots you know that's the same way it is from Genesis to revelation when we just begin to connect the dots and we begin to go through all the scriptures because not most scriptures but all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for what your Doctrine is profitable because of scripture I guess we could conclude today that if your Doctrine doesn't have scripture it's not profitable but because it has scripture it is profitable profitable for Doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works now if you can just see here a carpenter moving out on a job site if you could see a carpenter moving out on a job site he comes to build a house he's got a truck and most of them have a trailer behind and in that trailer they've got shovels they've got all kinds of tools saws they've got all kinds of hammers and measuring tapes and they got all kind of tools why they're building a house and they can't build the house without these tools do you know that when God is building a church God has equipped the ministry God has equipped the ministry with all the building equipment that we need to build the church and what what is the that equipment what is that shovel what is that that measuring tape what is that concrete mixer it is the word of God because when you stand to tell people to alter their lives it should not be the philosophical thinking of man it shouldn't just be I think it'd be a good idea for y'all to come on in here and devote your time no it's got to be backed up by the word by the word of God the man of God's got to have his apron on he's got to have this tool and that tool and he's got to be able to tell you this is the reason that we baptize and this is the reason that we believe in receiving the Holy Ghost and this is the reason that we believe in coming to the house of God this is the reason man wasn't that a great thought brother Nolan had today about tithing I never in the world thought about that before that God gave us the first fruit of the spirit so we enjoy the tide of God and then we return tithe back to God well aren't you thankful today somebody's just not standing up here asking for an offering or asking for you to tithe and give offerings and say well where did you get that from well it's just a good idea it's just a good Financial idea like the United Way has fundraising this is how we raise funds for the church I don't think that really has a lot of power to it but when you can get someone that has faith in the word of God the Bible and you get them to believing that's what the Bible says let me tell you something we've never obeyed one thing from the Bible what God has not poured open the windows of heaven and poured us out blessings that are beyond our ability to tell him and if you if you know that today give him some praise right now it's profitable for Doctrine it's profitable for reproof it's profitable for correction I'm going to tell you something when you pass through a church you got to get ready sometime or another you're going to have to rebuke somebody you may be seated it's not if you know you know I'm I'm hoping that one day brother carp and I just took this church and I'm I'm just praying that I never have to rebuke anybody and get in the real world man you will have to rebuke people but you don't rebuke them based on your word you rebuke them based on God's word you have to say now now now I rebuke that thought I rebuke that way I rebuke that that behavior that you've got right now well how do you how do how do you uh uh five foot seven inch uh wear seven and a half shoes weighs none of your business what do you what do you think what makes you think you can step in here and begin to rebuke me well I've got one tool on my tool belt here and it's called the word of God and if we want to make it to Heaven if we want to be all that God's got for us then we've got to receive this word right here the Bible the Bible the b i b l e yes that's the book for me the Bible if it was an acronym it would stand for best instructions before leaving Earth you don't want to leave here without this oh come on somebody I said you don't want to leave here without this I don't want to shut my eyes when death comes to close my eyes I don't want to leave this world without having the word of God in my life because you know what's going to bring me out of that graveyard over there at Grandview you know what's going to bring me out of that graveyard over that Grandview what's going to bring me out is what I believed in the word of God for the dead in Christ shall rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up listen I have I have laid to rest several people over there at Grandview and man one of these days I we was we was we were there a few days ago and I was telling brother Hammond over there ladies brother so and so on over there sister so and so on over there's this one man on Resurrection morning on Resurrection morning there's going to be a gathering over there at Sherwood there's going to be a gathering over there at Grandview and wherever they're they're laid out around the county they'll be a gathering well what what makes you just believe that is that Humpty Dumpty is that is that the uh the lady the what's the nursery rhyme of the woman in the shoe woman in the shoe all right and uh these ain't nursery rhymes this ain't Humpty Dumpty this ain't the goose that laid the golden egg this is the Living Word of God and you'll be able as you grow older and your hair grows greater and your step grows shorter can you begin to see the sunset of your life not to live out in drudgery and depression but to be able to say I've got a bright morning because ah seduction adoption is good for instruction for rebuke for correction there it is go back to go go back to that verse 16 again for Doctrine for abuse for correction when you correct people it has to be by the word of God when you struck them on how to live in righteousness it has to be the well the word of God that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished under all good works but let me slide back to verse 16. all scripture is given by inspiration of God that Greek word their inspiration that Greek word inspiration means god breathed God's breath and all scriptures given by the Breath of God is given by the Breath of God why does it say it that way because God wants us to know that the book we hold in our hands today is as close how close is God oh God God seems to be a Million Miles Away would you pick up your Bible oh I see him I can't find God would you reach and get your Bible oh it just seems like I can't hear from God I can't feel God I can't touch God would you just reach and get your Bible say what what what's that got to do with the way I feel it's got everything to do with the way you feel because if I can begin to hear this word preached if I can begin to hear the teaching of the word of God if I can begin to have daily devotion of reading scripture I will begin to feel the Breath of God God is as close he's as close as his word all scripture is given by inspiration of God now turn with me to Second Peter second Peter chapter one in verse number 16. let's listen to the Apostle Peter and II Peter chapter 1 verse 16. let's listen to him for we have not followed cunningly devised fables he's going back to the woman in the shoe he's going back to the goose that laid the golden egg he's going back to fairy tales because there were those fables there were those Fables in Peter's day but he wants the church to know we have not followed cunningly that word cunningly there means crafted well put together devised Fables when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ but were eyewitnesses of his majesty now Peter says when I'm telling you I'm not telling you something I read from a fairy tale book I'm not telling you something I read in history I am telling you I am an eyewitness look at that word I am eyewitness I am an eyewitness of the Majesty of Christ or of his majesty verse 17. for he Christ received from God the Father honor and Glory when there came such a voice to him from the excellent Glory this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased now he is talking about when Peter James and John Peter James and John was on Mount Transfiguration Jesus began to pray and the glory that was in him shown through his flesh his flesh became White like lightning his garments were glistening and then there came a voice man that's very impressive there came a voice from heaven and this voice said this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased again they were there they saw him change they saw his garments they heard Peter heard the voice verse 18. and this voice which came from heaven we heard everybody say we heard we heard when we were with him in the Holy Mountain we have now let's stop there for just a moment now I'm going to tell you something if you would just simply say why you believe Peter could just say I'll tell you why I believe I was praying with him one day and as I was praying with him we looked up His Garment was shining his flesh was shining and not only that we heard a voice come from Heaven saying this is my beloved Son now that there am I right today that's pretty impressive right but look at verse 19. but we we have also we have also we have also a more a more sure word of Prophecy he says I am going to top. that I saw his clothes Shining I am about to talk that I saw his skin Shining I am about to talk what I heard in my ear this is my beloved Son we have also a more I should say more a more sure sure more sure word of Prophecy whereunto ye do well that you take heed pay attention is what he means as unto a light that shoneeth in a dark place until the day and until the day Dawn and the day star arise in your heart he says we have a prophecy that is more sure more dependable than what we heard on the mount and then he begins the analogy he said it's like the morning sun coming up because of the star but he's talking about the Sun he says you know it's dark and then the sun gets up on the horizon and it becomes just a little bit lighter and lighter and lighter until the darkness is gone and it's the fullness of the day he is using this analogy let me let me say this again verse 19. we have also a more sure word of Prophecy where until you do well that you take heed and said unto a light that shineth in a dark place unto the day Dawn and the day star arise in your heart what is this verse 20 knowing this first what is that more sure word of Prophecy knowing this first that no Prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation in other words we didn't get the scripture by someone's private interpretation or someone's private keeping well where did the scripture come then verse 21 for the prophecy came not in Old Time by the will of man but holy men of God spake as they removed by the Holy Ghost now once again I'm on a mountain Jesus is is is transfigured a voice says Moses and Elijah show up wow what a mind-blowing things I think I think man what a mind-blowing thing for your faith that Peter comes along and Peter says no no no I thank God for that experience but let me tell you that experience did not change any of us I even after that experience I Peter even denied knowing I even denied knowing the Lord after that experience that mount Transfiguration did not change them but oh let the Holy Ghost come on the day of Pentecost the but they didn't stop there they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine that means the apostles didn't stop teaching the doctrine that Jesus taught them and told them about they stayed in that as a matter of fact I'll just go ahead and be a little transparent with you today I'm preaching this because I need this Paul said preach the word for in doing so he will save them that hear you and you will save yourself do you know today that the word of God is like the sun coming up in the morning I can be in a dark place but the sun comes up in the morning oh could you just praise him for a moment right now would you just praise him for a moment right now come on would you just praise him right now Lord I Thank You for Your word God I thank you I'm determined to know the doctrine God now I want to tell you this morning I want to tell you something this morning church and I want to tell every person that has just recently given their lives to God I want to tell every person that just recently and recently could be a year recently could be a few years you could be two years it could be two weeks but I won't tell everybody recently that's dedicated your life to God you've been baptized you've got the Holy Ghost you're praying to receive the Holy Ghost I want to tell you something that The Best Is Yet To Come you think it's wonderful what you felt when you gave God your sins and the sins were lifted you think it was wonderful what you felt you just keep on coming to church and keep on hearing the word of God because it's just going to get brighter and brighter and brighter and brighter and brighter until you're going to look around and you're going to say thank God that I came in the body of Christ but look at how blessed our lives are right now what a wonderful God what a wonderful savior what a wonderful God Peter said as the day star arise no prophecy of scripture is given by the will of man verse 21 but holy men spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost now this is another reason that makes the Bible so credible all the different authors of this book all the different authors of this book many of the authors that wrote never even lived in the same century many of these men that wrote never even knew one another but not one time not one time just one contradict another not one time not one time does one say something that the other said against or in opposition to not one time all these different authors all these different authors but yet we come out with one meaning we come out with not one contradiction it was a man that was rather he was rather see if I can find the kind word combative no but combative is not the word um you know maybe combative is the work but he felt it was his mission in life to correct me on on Doctrine and so every time I was in their place of business um he would always want to bring up a scripture and the problem was it was his interpretation of the scripture all right and you see you you got to rightly divide the word of Truth the Bible says that rightly dividing the word of Truth you just can't go to one scripture and say look the scripture right here says this right here you just can't do that you rightly divide you rightly divide the script you rightly divide the scripture you don't take a hammer and dig a footer with a hammer all right you got to rightly divide in other words in other words who and this this is really Bible school stuff right here and it's it's really it's it's really just it's just a good stuff it's very simple you want to understand your Bible anytime you read from your Bible find out find out who is speaking everybody say who find out who is speaking find out who's being spoken to say it again I had you say that real fast I'd say you're an owl okay so anyway who is speaking who is being spoken to and what everybody said what and what are they talking about all right don't just don't just fly into this movie so right here right here where rare it says this right here well who's speaking who's being spoken to what are they talking about have any of you ever said anything but somebody repeated it out of context you said it but when they extracted what you said from your conversation and repeated it it was what nothing don't don't don't don't don't be like the old guy that used to get his direction from God he would set his Bible up on its Edge and he would let it fall open he would close his eyes and let it fall open he'd take his finger and put down and then it opened his eyes and wherever his finger was that he felt that was direction of God but one day he needed some direction he put his Bible on his Edge and he opened it up he put his finger down it fell on that verse of scripture that said Judas went out and hanged himself I don't do that so he closed his Bible and he closed his eyes he opened it up again and it fell in a different part of the Bible in a different chapter in a different subject and it said and you go and do ye likewise well it's a horrible interpretation it's a horrible interpretation of the scripture please know this morning that the Bible if I say the Bible the Bible reveals the mind of God the Bible is the mind of God everybody say the mind the Bible the Bible reveals the will of God I say the will of God the Bible has the mind of God the Bible has the will of God and the Bible has the ways of God all right the mind of God will of God the ways the ways of God go to the Old Testament with me Isaiah chapter 55. Isaiah chapter 55. and we're going to begin reading at verse number six are you all still here with me today are you determined to know Doctrine Isaiah chapter 55 and verse 6 seek ye the Lord while he may be found call upon his call upon him while he is near let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts everybody say thoughts thoughts because you you know that's really where we either go in the right direction or the wrong direction it all begins at the intersection of thoughts let that unrighteous man his thoughts let him return unto the Lord and he will have mercy upon him and to our God for he will abundantly pardon um brother Steve Smith yesterday said something that I'm gonna some of you men that was here heard it but God is omnipotent all-powerful and God is omniscient which means all-knowing and he said something in reference to teaching a Bible study and I won't share it just for a minute here he said he doesn't agree totally with that statement that God is omniscient which means all-knowing he said God chooses he can choose to be omniscient all-knowing but when it comes to our sins Mighty God when it comes to our sins he chooses to cast our transgressions and iniquity as far as the East is from the West and he said and your transgressions will I remember no more aren't you thankful he is omniscient but he chooses not to remember my sin he chooses he chooses not to remember he said Return to your God verse 7. for he will abundantly pardon listen to God speak listen to God breathe on you today for my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my way saith the Lord for as the heaven is higher than the Earth so are my ways then your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts for as the rain that cometh down and the snow from heaven and returneth not thither but watereth the Earth and maketh it to bring forth and Bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth it shall not return unto me void that means empty but shall accomplish that which I have which I please that it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sin it and I'm going to read verse 12 in a moment but let me tell you he said my word is now remember the analogy Peter said the word is like the sun coming up the more of the word of God you get in your life the more the word of God you obey in your life the brighter that the sun begins to come stop waiting on some experience to happen for you to have faith just begin to let the word of God grow in your life but now Isaiah said that the word of God is like the rain that comes down from heaven the Creator God created the rain the earth needs the rain the earth the earth needs the earth needs the rain and so the rain comes down from heaven God God so designed for or the the rain to to have vapor and go up in the clouds and the clouds to to deposit the rain but he said I did that I did that so that it would come down to the Earth and it would water the Earth because there was seed in the earth and there was plants that needed to be watered and when the rain comes down it has an effect upon the plants and the plants begin to Bud and Blossom and to give fruit and then he said that's exactly what my word does my word comes down from heaven yes he comes through the mouth of a person but it comes down from heaven and as it comes down and falls upon your ear and I not only pray today but I'm anointed to preach but I pray today you're anointed to hear because if I'm just anointed to preach it's not going to make you any it's not going to make a difference in your life but if you could have the same prayer that I have God let me be an anointed hearer today Lord I want to hear the word of God I want to I want to receive the word of God today because it's come to water my life it's come to bring the goodness of God from the inside and it's going to bring it out and to the outside could you give him some praise with me this morning foreign are you seeing this today are you seeing determined to know the doctrine the rain's coming down the rain's coming down but you do realize what's coming out of your life is what's planted in your life is flesh planted inside of you a strong stubborn will the will of man the will I'll do it I know more I know I can do I know more and yada yada on and on because if a word falls on your heart today it doesn't bring forth anything but if you you've got the word of God in your life and that good a word of God comes down Lord I'm determined to know the doctrine he said my word and I like this I like this part right here I like this part um go back to verse 10 for as the rain cometh down yes verse 10 for as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven you see snow does the work just right along with the rain it just comes in a different form snow does the job it's just rain it's just rain in a different form and I thought when I read that in study I thought you know the seasons of our life sometimes we're in the warm we're in the warm comfortable spring time of our life and the word of God's coming and it's real easy to come to church when you're in the springtime of your life it's real easy to come to church when everything's going good but what about when winter comes and the leaves are gone from the tree and it's a hard freeze outside and all of a sudden the snow is coming down God is saying whether you're in the springtime of your life or you're in the winter of your life get to my house and hear my word and my word will bring something about my word is going to bring something about in your life but let's continue to read verse 11 again God said so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth it shall not return unto me void that means empty but shall it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing where unto I sent it follow along closely verse 12. for you shall go out with joy who's to you there people that have been rained on by the word of God people that have allowed the word of God to Reign upon them you shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace the mountains and the hills shall Break Forth before you into singing and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands and I'm going to tell you when you begin to live in the in the realm of the word of God the environment around you you don't see it is against you you see it as working together for the fullness of God's purpose look how he uses this they that are led by the word of God he talks about the mountains and the hills and he talks about them breaking into singing and he talks about the Trees of the field shall clap their hands I don't care how ungodly this culture gets if we will hold on to the word First Apostolic church I don't care how ungodly I don't care what kind of Godless laws are past I don't care what kind of Godless things happen in our street but when we get at this place 1331 and we begin to hear the word of God that never changes can I tell you we can look out and say the environment is clapping his hands the environment is breaking out into Joy though they be against me God is for me and even the environment around determined to know the doctrine determined determined to know the doctrine but I'm not done with this verse yet he said your surroundings are going to change everybody say surroundings verse 13. instead of the thorn in which the thorn is a product of a curse when God created the Earth in the beginning he didn't create Thorns Thorns are a product of the curse instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree instead of the Briar shall come up the Myrtle tree it shall be to the Lord for a name and for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off you know what he said if you'll get a hold of my word not only is a New Day Dawning in your life but also the environment is changing around here and all you've been used to has been Thorns your life has been one big thorn bush your life has been one big Briar you're getting stuck on this and stuck on that and scratched on this and it's been one big curse but he says to the man or the woman that'll begin to listen to my word he said the sun is coming up and it's going to get lighter and lighter and instead of Briars you're going to have a fur tree you build a house with fir tree you're going to have a fur tree you're going to have something solid something Dependable something that your life is built on and instead of the Briars you're going to have the Myrtle tree the Myrtle gives forth a fragrance like no other what's he trying to tell us I'm reigning my word upon you and if you'll receive my word because he said remember this now I forgot to add this here but remember this he said my word will not return unto me void in other words my word word will bring an answer back to Heaven my word I sent my word to bless and the word comes back to heaven and God says word what happened and the word says they gladly received it they gladly received it they were on the edge of their Pew they were writing notes they were wanting to know the doctrine they gladly received it and God says send them some fur trees send them some Myrtle trees send them send them all of this but then God says what did they answer will God will God they continue to be stubborn they continue to see the preaching is outdated and not relevant to the 21st century they pay more attention and they showed more emotions to their football game getting beat last night ouch they showed more emotions to that than they did when my word was falling upon them and now follow this now you know what God says they'll get more thorns they'll get more Briars the word that should have changed their from a fur tree from a briar to a fir tree from a from a thorn to a myrtle tree just grows more Thorns that's why people that just come and listen to the word but don't apply the word their life doesn't stay the same amen their heart gets more hardened and more hardened and more hardened oh God I'm determined to know your Doctrine God because I want that day star I want that day star to arise in my life well let me just stop right here the word of God the scripture it's powerful scriptures are powerful scriptures are so powerful and um it's on down in my notes but would you put Hebrews chapter one and verse number one on the screen Hebrews chapter 1 verse number one our musicians would you come Hebrews chapter 1 verse number one God who it's sundry times and in divers manners manners spake everybody say spake say it again please God who at sundry times and in divers manners different ways what did he do spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophet stop right there God spoke a lot of different ways in the in the Bible didn't he he spoke through creation he spoke through dreams he spoke through dreams did he not speak through a burning bush he spoke through creation he spoke through dreams he spoke through burning bushes he spoke through Prophets right and Prophets don't need to get elevated because God also spoke through a donkey creation God spoke through creation God spoke through dreams God spoke through a burning bush God spoke from the top of the mountain God spoke through Prophets God spoke to a donkey the Bible said let's read verse one again if you give me verse one God who it's sundry it means many different times and in diverse manners Spain and time passed unto the fathers by the prophets verse 2. hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son whom he appointed heir of all things by whom also he made the worlds can I tell you today when understanding the scripture Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the living word of God Jesus Christ is the living The Living Word of God Jesus Christ The Living Word of God if we know the scripture is powerful what makes Jesus so powerful he's the living word of God he's the Living Word of God would you stand with me right now he's the Living Word John 1 1 in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God John 1 14 and the Word was made flesh what sets Jesus apart than any other man number one his birth was miraculous his birth you believe that I sure do because that's what the word says that's what the word says his birth was miraculous at the age of 12 he was astounding the scholars of his day with his wisdom at the age of 30 he performed his first miracle he turned H2O into wine beginning at the age of 30 he demonstrated that he was no ordinary man not only at the age of 12 could he debate with Scholars at the age of 30 he did his first miracle and turned water into wine sometime later his disciples were out on a stormy sea and Jesus Christ came walking walking unto them on the water sometime later his disciples he along with his disciples were in a ship the waves of the wind were blowing and tossing and filling the ship with water Master do you care don't you care that we perish this man Jesus stepped to the bow of that boat and spoke to the wind and told the wind to be silent and to lay down and the Bible said there was a great calm and they came over let's see a great calm that the disciples look at one another with mouths that gaped open and had one comment to say what Manner what type of man is this that even the waves obey his voice I'll bring to your attention today that our Earth is covered 71 percent of the Earth's surface is covered by water Our God created it he displayed his divinity upon the Water by splitting a red sea and splitting a Jordan River but today in just a few moments there's going to be something else that God uses water to do if it can turn water into wine he can turn a sinner into a saint all right oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah listen to me today if he can turn a roadblock of a red sea into a highway to go across and Destroy it's amazing what our god did at the Red Sea they had a roadblock anybody in here today facing a roadblock in your life anybody got a roadblock that the only way I'm going to get through this roadblock is God's gonna have to take me through I got Pharaoh behind me and I got a roadblock in front of me but my God steps in and he makes a way where there seems to be no way he makes a way through the Red Sea Only Our God can turn a roadblock into a highway on the air god do you believe that today only our God can turn water into wine only our God why don't you step out in faith to the word of God this morning why don't you step out in faith to the word of God this morning why don't you step out of the aisle and step into this altar with your situation saying today God I know you're going to take care of it Lord You're the god of every situation you're the God of all situations God Lord I love you this morning God I praise you this morning God Lord I know that you're the god you're Elohim you're the almighty God you're the Creator God oh you're the redeeming God Lord You're the god that can change
