The Book of Revelation chapter 22. verse number 16 The Book of Revelation chapter 22 verse 16. brother Nolan said tonight he said I made it so simple last week and I said to myself well what did you expect a simple preacher amen a simple preacher is going to preach at the simple it's the simple way I just figure it this way brother saliards if I can understand it if I can understand it anybody can understand as a matter of fact and this is something I teach that I bought ministers that that ask about sermon preparation I tell them this if you don't know what you're saying they don't know what you're saying God doesn't do a miracle from your mouth to their ear if you don't know if it's amiss to you it's a fog out there all right so here we go revelation 22 16 I Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches I am the root and The Offspring of David and the bright and The Morning Star and the spirit and the bride say come and let him that heareth say come and let him that is a thirst come come and whosoever will let him take of the Water of Life freely let the bride say come and tonight in Prophecy I want to I'm going to go from go back just a little bit and help you understand that we are the bride of Christ the church the church is the bride of Christ father I love you tonight Lord I sure have felt your presence in a great way Lord Jesus I sure have felt your Mighty glory and your power and I've been strengthened in the inward man tonight and I thank you Lord for my brothers and sisters that Faithfully gather on Sunday evening to worship you thank you Lord for all the people that make Church possible tonight Lord I ask you for the next few moments you anoint my heart that I would be able to speak God about the most important subject that we could talk about being ready Lord for the Rapture of the church I give you praise tonight Lord I do thank you in Jesus name we pray amen amen you may be seated the Rapture of the church the bride of Christ the Rapture of the church follows closely similarities of a Jewish wedding a Jewish wedding when you find the Rapture of the church the bride we are we are the bride of Christ when you find the church and you find the bride you find similarities of a first century Jewish wedding there were three things that went in to a Jewish wedding number one was the engagement the engagement the engagement was a former formal agreement made by both the bride's father and the groom's father it was the bride's father and the groom's father that came together and made the formal agreement that their son and their daughter would be married this was known as the engagement after the engagement there was the betrothal this was the ceremony where the mutual parties made their promises to each other the future bride made promises to the Future groom and the future groom made promises to the future bride it was at the end of these promises that they made to each other that the groom would leave for an unspecified amount of time as he went to prepare a Dwelling Place for he and his bride to be when he returned the third and final stage of this was completed which was the marriage it was approximately one year later when the bridegroom came for his bride at an unexpected time now we can see in these three steps of this Jewish wedding the Rapture the bride of Jesus Christ first is the engagement and of course we have to drop the term father's plural and we have to just simply say it is Father it is Father it is our God before creation you must understand that before creation almighty god of wisdom had already in his mind pictured yes you and I the church the bride of Christ first Corinthians chapter 2 and verse 7. Paul's referring to this when he said but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery even the hidden wisdom which God ordained look at this now before the world unto our Glory before the world God in his mighty wisdom had already foreseen you and I the church his bride Paul tells us that we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery and the Mystery has been revealed the mystery has been revealed it is the church Ephesians chapter 1 verse number four again Paul writes and says according as he hath chosen Us in him the church before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and Without Blame before him in love there again you have the church in the mind of God before the foundation of the world second Timothy chapter 1 verse number 9 who hath saved us and called us with a holy calling not according to our works but according to his own purpose and Grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began and last Titus 1 verse 2. in Hope of eternal life which God that cannot lie promise before the world began I'd like for you to understand tonight that the first step of this marriage was pre-planned by Our Father before the foundation of the world before the foundation of the world God already saw himself becoming a man groom and God through that man Christ Jesus would bring you and I to him which would be the bride Jesus in Matthew chapter 16. verse number 13. Jesus stood in a place of many false Idols that had been chiseled out of stone there was many false Idols that were worshiped in caesarea Philippi it's in Matthew 16 and verse 13. when Jesus came into the coast of caesarea Philippi he asked his disciples saying whom do men say that I the son of man am I want to know what man says about me and they said some say they are John the Baptist and some Elias and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets that he said unto them but whom say ye that I am Simon Peter answered and said Thou Art the Christ the son and notice this he just didn't say the Son of God he said the son of the Living God I believe that he is making a gesture around caesarea Philippi and all the chiseled out statues you are the son of the living God Jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou Simon barjona Flesh and Blood hath not revealed it unto the unto thee but my Father which is in heaven he says to Simon Peter you have received a revelation of my identity you're not living in the opinions of man that say some say you're John the Baptist Jeremiah one of the prophets you're not living in an opinion of what men say but you're living under the divine revelation that my father hath given you blessed art thou Simon barjona Flesh and Blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father which is in heaven and I say unto thee that thou art Peter and Upon This Rock future tense I will build my church and the Gates of Hell shall not Prevail against it in eternity past the engagement was in the mind of God the father had already preordained he already had it laid out he would become man and through the man Christ Jesus and the preaching of the word he would draw people like you and I to him and sinners would plunge beneath the Crimson stream of blood and we would be made into the bride the church the next step when Jesus came and Jesus shed his blood and ascended it back into heaven now the betrothal takes place the ceremony were mutual promises are made and how we come into the body of Christ how we've become the church how we become the bride is because God meets Us by Spirit through his word and through his word you and I either make promises to God or we simply brush it off and reject the greatest invitation that a person would ever have the greatest break in life you'll ever have is to be born again this betrothal takes place this betrothal takes place in the role of a Preacher and please excuse me for my simple way but A God Called sincere preacher is none other than a spiritual Matchmaker he wants to sow God's word into Humanity's heart so that Humanity can respond to God by spirit and by word and that Humanity regardless how lost they are how down they are that Humanity can have an opportunity to make promises to God second Corinthians chapter 11 and verse number two listen to Paul this preacher he says to the Corinthian Church the bride of Christ he says for I am jealous over you with Godly jealousy for I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ Paul came down and he said I'm jealous over you I don't like the attention you've been given the world I don't like the attention that you've been given to others and he said I'm jealous over you James chapter 1 verse 18 James tells us of this this giving of the word of God this this putting of the word of God he said of his own will begat he us with the word of truth that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures First Peter chapter 1 verse number 23 being born again not of corruptable seed but of Incorruptible by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever can I tell you that the role that the preacher plays in your life is very important the role that the preacher plays is the betrothal the role that the preacher plays God has already seen you in his body God is already deemed whosoever will has an invitation to come and become the bride of Christ but through the role of the preacher and the spirit of God Romans 10 and 13 says it this way for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved how shall they call on him in whom they have not believed how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard how shall they hear without a preacher and how shall they preach except they be sent as it is written how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring Glad Tidings of good things but they have not all all obeyed the gospel and I'm going to tell you it's simple there the role of the preacher here the role of the preacher is to tell you about a God that wants an engagement with you it is to tell you about a God that before the worlds began already already preordained for there to be a marriage and the question is tonight will you say yes to his proposal will you say yes to his proposal every young man in this building every man excuse me every man in this building use hands and Palms were sweaty as they first went to the his future wife's father and asked for their hand in marriage and twice I had such a wonderful occasion of scaring emotionally at brother Erickson and brother Hammond as they took me out to lunch to ask me for the hands of my daughter in marriage oh I loved it and savored every nervous moment that I felt them going through the only thing that broke it was my sweet wife saying that's enough that's enough somebody asked me the night after brother Erickson and Fallon were married how I felt I said I felt like I just gave a gorilla a violin is how I feel I love him I do I pick on him but I love them and then every young man in this room that hopes when he says you know we've been dating for a while and I can't imagine life without you would you marry me every young man is waiting for that one word to come out of her mouth yes yes can I tell you tonight what we see and relate to God before the world began saw us and God made a proposal and what God had to put in your life between you and him was a preacher preaching the word hello I hope you say yes to him when he proposes to you through the word of God yes is the most beautiful word that you could say in Acts chapter 28 verse number 23 and 24. Paul finds himself preaching in Rome he finds himself preaching in Rome and he preached the gospel he preached The Proposal he preached to them about becoming the bride of Christ the Bible said in verse 23 and when they had appointed him a day they came many of him many to him into his lodging to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God and persuaded them concerning Jesus Christ out of the law of Moses and out of the prophets from morning to evening from morning to evening Paul pleaded with the congregation say yes to him he's the god that Moses prophesied of he's the god of the Old Testament come in human flesh say yes to him but here was the answer that came back verse 24. look at it closely and some of them believed the things which were spoken and some believed not some said yes I'll marry you some said yes I'll commit my life to you some said yes I'll surrender all that I am or and would ever hope to be some said yes I'll repent and surrender some said yes I'll obey the gospel in baptism some said yes I'll obey and be filled with the Holy Ghost some said yes but isn't it sad there that we read tonight and others said no others believe not let me tell you something about the bride tonight when you say yes when you say yes that's your choice you make and when you say no that's your choice you made can I tell you this evening that you have the power to make decisions but you don't have the power to determine consequences of those decisions you have the power to say yes to his proposal and what wonderful rewards await us not only we enjoy here on this Earth but we will enjoy even more in heaven you do have the right to say no to him but you don't have the right to choose your consequences you can make your own decisions absolutely but you cannot choose your own consequence if you say yes to him you fall into Matthew chapter 16 and verse 15. Matthew chapter 16 and verse 15. yes I believe yes I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God yes I believe this message yes I'm going to commit my life and he said unto them go into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature he that believeth what's the next step he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned you see here is where the bride takes on the name of her husband this is where it is baptism and I know it's been whittled down by man's opinion to be something you can live with or live without and still go to heaven but I'm sorry the book says it different the Bible said he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned someone wanting to try to prove that that baptism wasn't important said yeah but will a carpenter it does not say and is not baptized shall be damned it doesn't matter if you don't believe you can be baptized so much a tadpost know your social security number and it'll never help you out if you don't believe you go in a dry Sinner and you come up a wet sinner that's all that happens to you you see I stood nervous on a platform one night and waited for doors to open up and there down the middle aisle came Penny Bennett I made a proposal to her we made Mutual promises to each other and yes we actually believe that God put our lives together as a matter of fact let me detour just a little bit tonight and tell you every marriage before you say yes you need to know that God approves of that and that God has brought you together we believe that God had brought us together and that night she believed it I believed it we had mutual promises as a matter of fact that night we were going to go through a series of vows that we were going to make to each other and at the end of The Vows and the commitments that we made we were pronounced husband and wife she no longer goes by the name Penny Bennett because that night she took on my name she took my name on and that's the same way it is when we believe Upon Jesus Christ and we are surrender our life to him and we are baptized in the name it's not tomato tomato it's not just kind of words that is said the bride takes on the name of her husband takes on the name of Jesus Ephesians 3 and 14 Bears this out beautifully Paul says for this cause I bow my knees unto the father of our Lord Jesus Christ watch this of whom the whole family in Heaven and Earth is what named again in James 2 and verse number 6 James warning the church to stay away from those that only want to become wealthy he says he says to the church in James 2 and 6 but ye but ye have despised the poor do not the rich men oppress you and draw you before judgment seats do they do not they blaspheme that worthy name somebody say that name that Worthy Name by which you are called what is that worthy name that we're called the name of Jesus bride gives us our identity as his bride if Penny Bennett had said that night I want to keep my own name I want to be known by my own name she would have been forfeiting the right to be identified by her husband's last name the name of Jesus gives us our identity as a bride we have our identity by the name of Jesus that's why we do not subscribe to titles we do not get our identity through a title I was a son the night Penny Bennett married me but she didn't take the title son she's not Penny son I was an evangelist the night she married me but her name isn't Penny evangelist for about 30 days I had been the pastor of this church but her name did not become Penny Pastor when she got married that night to me she took on my name and that name meant she is Penny Carpenter and when we accept the proposal of Jesus Christ we are the bride of Christ and we take on his name we don't take on a title it is the name that gives us our identity of the Bride but it is the spirit of God that gives us the resurrection power it is the name that gives me the identity but it is the spirit of God that gives me the resurrection power in Romans chapter 8 and verse number 11 simply put if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall Quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you would you like a definition of what Mortal means mortal means liable to death liable to death susceptible to death but if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also Quicken your mortal body that by his spirit that dwelleth in you hear me tonight bride of Christ when it comes to the Rapture of the church the name gives us our identity but the Holy Ghost baptism gives us resurrection power the Holy Ghost is not only good to change my life from a drunker to being sober from a drug addict to being off drugs from being a pervert to being a man of a good conscience but the power of the Holy Ghost is that one day if I should succumb to death and be buried six feet under the ground I have resurrection power inside of me why because I am the Bride of Jesus Christ oh I'm going to preach this until you're happy to be the bride you're not a church member you're not an Apostolic you are the bride and Jesus Christ oh somebody give him some praise right now somebody give him some praise right now First Corinthians chapter 15 verse 50. First Corinthians listen to me bride First Corinthians chapter 15 verse 50. now this I say Brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God neither doth corruption inherit incorruption Paul is talking about heaven behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed that's an interesting verse there I saw that interesting verse on an interesting door in a church I walked by a nursery that kept the babies and I saw they put this verse over that nursery door we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep we're not all going to die Paul says but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptable and we shall be changed for this corruptable shall put on incorruption and this Mortal must put on immortality so when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this Mortal shall I put on immortality then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death is swallowed up in Victory O Death where is thy sting oh grave where is thy Victory The Sting of death is sin the strength of sin is the law but thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ therefore my beloved Brethren be your steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord Paul is trying to tell the church that what ought to motivate you is that any moment the trumpet could sound and the corruptable is going to put on incorruptible the Mortal is going to put on immortality Paul is trying to tell you you can't afford to have latched time of living for God if you're not stirred up tonight bride stir yourself up if you made a proposal to Jesus Christ but you found yourself flirting with the world shut the shut of you shut the window shut the door fall in love with Jesus Christ get back involved in the house of God get back to working in the house of God because it could happen at any moment let me give you some facts about the Rapture some facts about the rapture the Rapture is not going to be like a school bell that sounds that gives students a five-minute warning the next they'll you're late for class the Rapture will come suddenly somebody say suddenly the Rapture will come suddenly go back to First Corinthians 15 verse 52 in a moment in the twinkling of an eye that's how quick how sudden the coming of the Lord will be another fact about the rapture we will put on immortality at the Rapture the Mortal liable to death susceptible to death will put on a body that is not susceptible to death another fact about the Rapture another fact about the rapture the Rapture will deliver the bride the Rapture will deliver the bride from the Judgment of God coming to this earth can I tell you tonight you cannot do what's going on on God's Earth and God wink at it this world has a date with the Judgment of God this world has a date with the Judgment of God and it's called tribulation but God made her proposal to a bride and God is going to save that bride is going to save that bride from any harm the bridegroom loves the bride protects the bride I have a hard time swallowing the pill of those that want to preach and tell us that God is going to take his bride through a tribulation I'm sorry tonight I can't see a God that loves a church that would take her through a time of tribulation that is the Judgment of every abortion it is the Judgment of every foul gender confused vomit that's coming out today you're not going to be able made in the image of God to stub your nose at God and try to erase every inch of God's image upon this world you hear me tonight this is why you need to get out of the world and get into the bride because the world is going to face judgment you better get out of the world you better get in the bride because the world is going to face judgment somebody give him some praise tonight the rapture the Rapture will deliver the us from the Judgment of God that's coming upon the Earth as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be what was in the days of Noah God delivered a righteous man from a world that had judgment on its door the Rapture of the church will deliver the Rapture will Deliver Us from the Judgment of God coming upon the Earth Daniel chapter 12 verse number 4 verse number one let me tell you an interesting thing about the Book of Daniel never mentions the church not one time it's as if God hid the church age from The Book of Daniel in the Book of Daniel you'll not find the church age you will not find it anywhere in the Book of Daniel you will find Daniel dealing mainly with Israel in verse number 12 chapter 12 and verse 1 listen to Daniel and at that time shall Michael stand up the great Prince was standing for the children of thy people and there shall come there shall be a time of trouble and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time and at that time thy people shall be delivered that's talking about Armageddon at that time thy people shall be delivered every one that shall be found written in the book and many of them that sleep in the dust of the Earth shall awake some everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt and they that be wise shall shine is the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the Stars forever and ever but thou o Daniel shut up the words and seal the book even to the time of the end many shall run to and fro in knowledge shall be increased in Matthew 24 21 Jesus Echoes what was said in Matthew in in Daniel excuse me Matthew 24 21 Jesus says then shall there be Great Tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time no nor ever nor ever shall be the Rapture of the church is to Deliver Us from the Judgment that is coming Upon This World the last fact I want you to know of the rapture the Rapture will be selected at the rapture only the bride is coming out of the ground only the bride is being changed in a moment and in the say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them with with sleep for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout that brought that groom is wanting to get married that Heavenly groom has been waiting on this ever since the Garden of Eden ever since the Garden of Eden he had a perfect man and a perfect woman and now that Heavenly bridegroom descends from heaven with a shout and with the voice of the Archangel and the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord now that doesn't end there this is what ought to be a comforting thing to the church don't go to sleep on me this ought to be the comforting thing to the church wherefore Comfort one another with these words can I tell you we ought to be talking about the rapture we ought to be believing in the rapture we ought to be talking and living can I tell you revelation chapter 5. and I might just I just may end here because I really didn't think last Sunday night that I totally ministered to us we are the bride the name bearing bride that's our identity our power is in the spirit that dwells Revelation 4 read it when you go home read it this week Revelation 4 is nothing but has to be broken and when each seal is broken that time of tribulation begins it is in the sixth and seventh chapter church has been raptured the first seal the first seal is broken when the first seal is broken the Bible begins to tell us in Revelation chapter 6. verse number one and I feel the Lord here tonight I feel the Lord here in that I'm a firm believer that the church will not face the tribulation I'm also a firm believer that we will witness this setting conditions that will lead to tribulation and here's one of them it's where it begins Revelation chapter 6 verse 1. and I saw when the lamb opened one of the seals and I heard as it were the noise of thunder we all know what thunder means don't we Thunder is a sound of an approaching storm one of the four beasts came and saying come and see and I saw and behold a white horse a white horse and he that set on him had a bow and a crown was given unto him and he went forth conquering and to conquer please don't misunderstand the typology this is not the Lord Jesus Christ it's a white horse he has a crown yes Bo but it is not the Lord Jesus Christ it is the counterfeit it is the counterfeit you see we're living in a culture now of tolerating everything but one thing absolutes as long they don't care how we baptize they don't care how we talk in tongues or how we dress or don't dress but what drives them up a wall is what we stand for and what we stand against I believe that you can be kind but convictional I believe that you can love The Sinner but hate the Deeds that he's in but the world that we're living in today is becoming less and less tolerable to the church this white horse it's none other than the Antichrist as he comes offering peace conquering and to conquer I'm going to tell you something in order for the Antichrist takeover he has to take the rights away from the people they got to think for us because we're not able to think for ourselves God help us you're not able to make the right decisions you're not able to make the right decisions Public Schools Across America today will tell parents they're the property of the state I beg your pardon I beg your part but that's the idea that's the ideology hear me that's the ideology that's coming across you don't know how to raise your children you don't you don't know how to raise him we know how to raise your children we know they need to be free thinkers and we're going to see prior to the rapture more pressure come upon the church because of the way we believe and the way we raise our children that's how they're going to come in the hurt can I tell you it is your personal responsibility keep yourself in the love of God if we just had more kids in our youth group I have preached for churches that's had one young person in their youth group and I've watched one young person without a Christian School without a youth group without a without a youth rally go to a public school the only one in that public school I'd watch those boys and girls sit on the front roses churches lift their hands up and worship God and magnify God what's our excuse what's our excuse yourself in the love of God be able to witness about baptism in Jesus name be able to witness about the mighty power of the Holy Ghost God wants to fill every person in Blount County with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and if they're not filled may it not be that they can join Acts 19 and say we never heard may they hear about the saving name of Jesus and may they hear about the promise of the baptism of the Holy Ghost because we leave here and we witness and
