Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Jesus, the everlasting Father

  • One verse read: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder."
  • "And his name shall be called wonderful, counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
  • The subject today is one of those names: Jesus, the everlasting Father — the ever-enduring Father.

Scriptures: Isaiah 9:6

The Word was God

  • "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God" — logos means a thought, a plan, a concept: like blueprints in a builder's hands before the building takes shape, and the blueprint was that he would become what he was creating.
  • It was not an afterthought: the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world — already crucified in the plan of God before one blade of grass ever sprang from the earth.
  • "And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us" — full of grace and truth: grace means strength, and we are here today because of the strength of God.

Scriptures: John 1:1; Genesis 1:1; Revelation 13:8; John 1:14

Come in my Father's name

  • Mary asked how she would produce this Savior, and was told the Holy Ghost would come upon her and cause a divine, miraculous conception in her womb.
  • "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not" — the name Jesus simply means Jehovah has become our salvation.
  • He obtained his name by inheritance, being made so much better than the angels — so when someone asks the name of the Father, let them know the name of the Father is Jesus.
  • At age twelve, found in the temple after Passover, he answered his mother: "Wish ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"

Scriptures: Luke 1:30-35; John 5:43; Hebrews 1:4; Luke 2:48-49

He that hath seen me hath seen the Father

  • "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions — I go to prepare a place for you."
  • Thomas asked the question the rest were content not to ask: "Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?" — the only dumb question about the Bible is the one you don't ask.
  • "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."
  • Philip said, "Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us" — and Jesus answered: "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father... the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

Scriptures: John 14:1-13

Like as a father pitieth his children

  • "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him" — he loves you just as much right now as he did the day you first stepped out of the aisle and gave him your heart.
  • "Whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth" — don't ever mistake God's correction for God's rejection.
  • If a son asks bread, will any father give him a stone? Or a serpent for a fish, or a scorpion for an egg? — how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him.
  • The prodigal's father is not a gruff God waiting with a bat: he is on the edge of his throne, watching down the road, hoping today is the day that person comes back — "Father, I have sinned."

Scriptures: Psalm 103:13; Proverbs 3:12; Luke 11:11-13; Luke 15:21-22

Touched with the feeling of our infirmities

  • The leper came beseeching him: "If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean" — and Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand and touched him, and said, "I will; be thou clean." No one gets outside the reach of the Almighty God.
  • "We have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin" — he can relate to every life struggle, so come boldly unto the throne of grace.
  • At his brother Jerry's parole hearings, one side of the table argued mercy and the other judgment — until a stranger took a chair at the end of the table, a man who puts flowers on his mother's grave every Mother's Day and visits his father in prison every Father's Day, and said he could relate to both sides. Only the everlasting Father can judge our sin without killing us, and give us mercy at the same time.
  • The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ — but fear will not hold you: if you have to be hung over hell to do anything for God, you don't know him. You have to fall in love with the everlasting Father.
  • "But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way" — gifts without charity are sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal; love covers a multitude of sins.
  • "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face... And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." The dying prophet had the king smite the ground with the arrows — three half-hearted taps meant only partial victory; and the girl coming home from prison found a white ribbon on every branch of the tree, and her parents at the tracks waving white sheets: that is what our Father is doing today.

shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father the prince of peace i want to minister today for a few moments and get quickly to the altar to see what god's going to do i want to minister today on jesus the everlasting father jesus the everlasting father you may be seated today isaiah began to give us prophecy hundreds of years before bethlehem's manger in the virgin mary the old testament prophet isaiah began to tell us that the child would be born for us and the son would be given for us and then he began to tell us that his name would be so wonderful that his name would be called his name there would be something about his name it would not be any ordinary name something about his name the old testament prophet said that his name would be called wonderful counselor the mighty god and what i want to use today the everlasting father the everlasting the ever enduring father so wonderful that god in his master plan in his master plan that god saw you and i and god provided such provisions for us we understand that jesus christ god robed in flesh jesus christ son of man son of god that it wasn't after man's sin did god say hey i got to go back to work hey i i created this perfect couple and perfect paradise and and i created this perfect world and now they've messed it up and god went back to work do you understand that before the earth as we know it ever existed that god is so thoughtful of you and i that he made a plan for our salvation john says it this way in john 1 1 in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god what do you mean in the beginning sounds a lot like genesis one and one in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth but before god ever created the heavens and the earth in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god that word w-o-r-d logos means a thought a plan a concept an idea in the beginning was a thought a plan a concept an idea and the thought the plan the idea was with god much like a contractor steps out on a vacant lot with a roll of blueprints for a building in his hands the building is not there yet the builder is and the plans are there but in the process of time the building will take shape so it was in the beginning of creation that god had a set of blueprints in his hands and those blue prince was with him and an odd thing about it not an odd thing but the amazing thing about it was the blueprints was that he would become what he was creating john said it this way in the book of revelation chapter 13 verse number eight was it an afterthought all that dwell upon the earth revelation 13 not covet revelation 13 verse 8 and all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him whose names are not written in the book of the li of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world was already crucified before one blade of grass ever spring from the earth he was already crucified before one star began to shine he was already crucified in the mind of god in the plan of god we go back to john 1 and 14. john 1 1 tells us what was in the beginning john in 1 14 tells us a few thousand years later and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the father the man christ jesus was the only begotten of the father and he was full everybody say full he was full of grace and truth you understand these two things grace means strength truth is the word he was the combination of both strength and truth you see we could not handle the truth because the truth past sentence on us but god came not with just truth he came also with strength we are who we are today because of the strength of god we have went through what we can we have went through today because of the strength of god we're not here today because of tenacity we're not here today because we've just been bright sharp made all the right moves you know why we're here today the strength of god oh i love that old song i can't even walk without him holding my hand full of grace strength and truth it is in luke 1 verse 30 through 35 that mary asked the question how will i produce this savior how will i produce this messiah it's from luke 1 30-35 that she's told that god the holy the holy ghost would come upon her and it would cause a divine miraculous conception in her womb but there's just not the fact that he was god in flesh they attached to him a name there was a name attached to him you do realize today that jesus christ not only came to this earth so that he could pay the sin debt and give you and i hope not to be lost forever in a lake of fire but you do know that god came in human flesh so that we could comprehend him so that we could get to know him and understand what he is like and someone say praise the lord in john chapter 5 and verse number 30 excuse me john chapter 5 verse number 43 listen to jesus as he says this john 5 43 i am come in my father's name and you receive me not if another shall come in his own name him you would receive he said i want you to know that i have come in my father's name now we understand this is the humanity the christ the humanity of jesus christ speaking he says i have come in my father's name what does jesus mean the name jesus simply means jehovah has become our salvation i have come in my father's name paul in the book of hebrews chapter number one verse number four gives even more light about this name he speaks of jesus christ in hebrews 1 4 and he says these words being made so much better than the angels as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they where did jesus get his name where did the name jesus come from he got it by inheritance it was something that was passed down to him jesus plainly says i have come in my father's name so the next time someone asks you to tell someone ask you what is the name of the father would you please let them know that the name of the father is jesus the name of the father is jesus at age 12 at age 12 the man jesus christ at age 12. luke 2 48 they go to the temple jesus is a 12 year old boy they go to the temple for passover mary and joseph after a few days of worship leave supposing jesus was in the large crowd of people family members that they had traveled with but a day or so later they discovered that jesus is nowhere to be found so they go back to jerusalem and in luke 2 48 they found him and when they saw him they were amazed and his mother said unto him son why hast thou dealt thus with behold thy father and i have sought thee sorrowing and jesus said unto them how is it that ye sought me wish ye not that i must be about my father's business at age 12 the man christ jesus understands that he is about his father's business well what is the father's business the father's business this morning is to let you and i know that he has a plan for us the father's business this morning he wants to erase from your mind that god is so high and lofty that none of us could ever reach up and touch him he wants us to understand some things today and he did it by the incarnation it's ever so clear if you would please if you don't have your bible follow along with me on the screen but this becomes so clear in john 14 let's start reading in verse number 1 john chapter 14 verse number 1 listen to jesus listen to him let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you i go to prepare a place for you and if i go and prepare a place for you i will come again and receive you unto myself that where i am there you may be also and whether i go you know and the way you know now brothers and sisters i want you to know today that i believe that jesus makes a statement in john 4 to gender questions i believe that he made the ques i believe he made the statement knowing that it would gender a question he says again in verse number 4 and whether i go you know and the way you know thomas sayeth unto him lord we know not whether thou go us and how can we know the the way now i'm going to tell you something the only dumb question you could ask about the bible is the one you don't ask now thomas gets a lot of flack for being doubting thomas but thank god when the rest of them were content in acting like they knew what he was talking about oh tom raised his hand and said excuse me excuse me lord we know not whether thou go goest and how can we know the way jesus saith unto him i am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me if you had known me you should have known my father also and from henceforth you know him and have seen him he said if you really knew me if you really knew me you would know the father you would you wouldn't know if you really if you had known me you should have known my father also and from henceforth you know him and has seen him now once again he says i'll tell you you've known him and you've seen him thank god for philip thank god for people that ask questions philip saith unto him lord show us the father and it sufficeth us or satisfies us jesus saith unto him have i been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me philip he that has seen me has seen the father how sayest thou then show us the father believeth thou not that i am in the father and the father in me the words that i speak unto you i speak not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me he doeth the works believe me that i am in the father and the father of me or else believe me for the very work's sake verily verily i say unto you he that believeth on me the works that i do shall he do also and greater works than thee shall he do because i go unto my father and whatsoever you shall ask in my name that will i do that the father may be glorified in the son you know what he was saying philip when i stood at the grave of lazarus and said lazarus come forth who do you think did that disciples when they brought me the woman caught in the act of adultery and i did i took her case there's not a lawyer in jerusalem that would have taken her case but i took her case and at the end of the day i got her set free who do you think did that what about the blind man at the pool of salon who do you think did that it was the father that dwelleth in me you see look at psalms chapter 103 verse 13. psalms 103 verse 13. like as a father pitieth his children so the lord pitteth them that fear him do you know that god loves you this morning do you know that i have come to preach a message on this father's day that he is the everlasting father some of us can comprehend a father loving us when we first got into church we first came out of sin and we first started living for god but a lot of waters went under the bridge and a lot of mistakes have been made and a lot of time has wore away at us and somehow today we just can't comprehend steel we're trying to come to church we're trying to hang on our joy is depleted we're you know we're we're just doing the best thing we can can i tell you today that he is an everlasting father he is an ever enduring father he loves you just as much right now as he did 50 years ago when you stepped out of the aisle and gave your heart to him he loves you just would you praise him with me for a moment i love my children i love my i love my two son-in-laws i love my daughter-in-law i love my family oh aren't you such a good man no that love came from god that love came from god like as a father pitteth his children so the lord pitieth them that fear him how about proverbs 3 and 12. proverbs 3 and 12 whom the lord loveth he correcteth come on now who the lord loveth he correcteth even as a father the son in whom he delighteth you know why we correct our children and discipline our children because we love them you know while we ground them you know why we do things take car keys away from them cell phones away from them you know why we do that not because we want to flex our muscles we love them we do it because we love them we're trying to correct them so that in the future they don't make the same mistakes and even worse mistakes because we love them don't ever mistake god's correction for god's rejection don't ever mistake god's correction for god's rejection well i just feel broken that's right god has broken you because the next time that temptation comes you are going to sing again you are going to feel joy again you are going to enter a season of wholeness again but god has broke you and corrected you so that the next time you come up against that you're going to be able to look at it and say get behind me i understand that's not the behavior that i want tell you what kind of father he is luke 11 11 if a son shall ask bread shall any of you that is a father give him a stone and the answer is no if he shall ask a fish will he give it for a fish a serpent or an egg or will he give a scorpion if yes he asks he asks for an egg then he goes on and says how much more shall your heavenly father jesus spoke a parable in luke 15 21-22 about a young man that backslid a young man that left the father's house a young man that made the wrong decisions if you're here today and you're a prodigal you're a backslider if you're watching online today and you're a prodigal you've lost out with god can i tell you what the father is doing this very morning he's looking off way down the road as a matter of fact you're getting tired of the hog pin that's because god did something to the hog pin you're getting tired with that life that's because god is stirring it up you know why god is stirring it up because he's a father that waits anxiously to see you come down that road again saying father i have sinned oh father i have sinned he's not a big gruff god up in heaven with a baseball bat is any of you all yeah at an arcade game if you want to admit you go to an arcade game any of y'all you ever played whack-a-mo and they stick there bow bow bow i mean sometimes we think god is playing one big game of whack-a-mole when we just want to stick our heads up and try we we see a god that's wanting to smack us down that's not what god is doing today god is on the edge of his throne this morning because he knows it's church time in north america and god is on the edge of his throne saying i wonder if that prodigal's coming home today i wonder if that person's coming back today that's what our god somebody say the everlasting father the everlasting father well i'll tell you what he is in a society that would run as far away from a leper as you could get in a society that you wanted nothing to do with a leper if you con came in contact with a leper brother nolan if you came in contact with a leper it messed up your entire month you had to go through all these ceremonial washings and separations and you had to go through so the last thing you wanted to do was run into a leper it was scourged they were there as a matter of fact they had to they were under the mosaic law when they were walking down a street and somebody else was coming they had to holler unclean get out of the way unclean unclean well who in the world wants to be around that you know something today the devil is planted in the minds of fallen people that they are lepers and the church doesn't want to come into contact with them the devil wants to put in your mind that you're not welcome anymore among the church and the church doesn't want to reach out to you matter of fact some people not a lot but some people have bought into the devil's agenda because they believe in getting around certain people like that just might pollute their lives but can i tell you about our father our father in mark chapter 1 verse number 40 look at our father look at our father mark 1 and verse 40. and there came a leper to him beseeching him kneeling down to him and saying unto him if that listen to the leper if thou will you can make me clean jesus was moved are y'all following this jesus i just figured i had more amens than that jesus was moved with where did that compassion come from god he was moved with compassion he was moved with compassion put forth his hand and touched him and saith unto him i will be thou clean and as soon as he had spoken immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was cleansed can i tell you about our everlasting father today no one gets outside of the reach of the almighty god if you feel like you're outside of his reach the devil's messing with your head he wants you to believe that but jesus the everlasting father who come to show us what the father looked like come on give him some praise this morning come on give him some prayer if you can relate to this if you can if you can relate to this hebrews 4 and 14. hebrews 4 and 14. seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens jesus the son of god let us hold fast firm our profession for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need listen to me today if you're not listening to hope play host sermon listen now god can relate to all of our lives struggles god can relate to it you don't have a struggle that god cannot relate to it do you know we have people in our lives that we can't talk to because they can't relate to what we're going through you take a woman that's been married for 50 years to the same man she can't relate to someone who's had multiple marriages you take a man that's never been behind bars never had a needle of heroin in his arm never knows what it's like for that world he can't necessarily relate to the man that has but our everlasting father was tempted in all ways like his weak yet without sin so whatever your life struggle is this morning jesus christ can come to you in this altar put his arms around you and say i know exactly what you're going through i know exactly that i was victorious over death hell and the grave ah that ought to make a dead man get up and shout that ought to make a dead man get up and shout this morning son of god son of man several years my sister and i along with my mother would go to our brother jerry's parole hearings he was denied parole several times the parole room looked like this the place where we had the meeting it was a large table on one side of the table on the right side of the table jerry kathy my mother and i which said of course we wanted mercy on the other side of the table said the family of the mother that my brother murdered they wanted him to stay locked up forever one side of the table said your honor he has served the time that the judicial system says to serve and could we fall on the mercy of the court and for him to be paroled on the other side of the table our table would say my mother is aging we would like for for him to be released before she passes on the other side of the table their argument was our mother's already past keep him locked up forever but the last parole hearing my brother called me and he said there's a man that has reached out to me that wants to be in the parole hearing and uh i said well do you know him he said no i i don't know him i said is he for you he said it's an odd thing kenny he said he was for me and for the other family too that didn't sound odd how can you be both for mercy and judgment at the same time we met the man that morning early we went in to take our seats in the parole hearing room her family on the left our family on the right when the man made a request he said your honor with your permission can i take a chair and sit right here at the end of the table at the middle of the table right at the end of the table in the middle not on this side and not on that side the judge granted him his wish when it came his time to talk he said i can both relate to this side and this side he said when i was 16 years old my father hired someone to rape and kill my mother my father is incarcerated he said every mother's day i go put a bouquet of flowers on my mother's grave while every father's day i go to prison and i visit my father he said on one side of the table is judgment and that i do understand and on the other side of the table is mercy and that too i understand do you all realize today that only our everlasting father jesus christ can come and judge our sin without killing us and give us mercy at the same time you see today we are all hell-deserving sinners there is none good no not one we were born in sin shape and iniquity and we're by nature the children of wrath but thank god god became a man and he suffered the judgment on the cross and when he paid the judgment yet mercy came running for me mercy aren't you glad that he's the everlasting father today oh give him praise and honor give jesus praise and honor today he can relate to you he can relate to you he can relate to you oh he can relate to you a woman caught in the act of adultery the law says the law says she she is to be stoned i'm wondering jesus wasn't standing there saying i know what the law says i wrote it jesus moses in the law says such should be stoned jesus says i i can see him thinking i know what he says i i wrote that but do you know the bible tells us that the law galatians 3 24 that the law was our school master to bring us to christ do you know do you know the the ten commandments and all of that that struck fear in our hearts can i tell you today you cannot serve god you you will not serve god over the fear of hell not long you'd be like the man that went to the altar that night at that tent revival the preacher preached hell hot and the man jumped out of his folding chair ran to the altar and cried out to the lord to save him that night going home the preacher was walking behind the man that just gave his heart to the lord and cut across a pastor field where a big bull got after the man the man began to cuss at that big bull he began to cuss that bull that preacher said hey hey you can't cuss you got saved tonight he said listen preach it's like this you scared it into me and the bull scared it out of me if you have to be hung over hell to do anything for god you don't know him if you have to be strung out over hell and if you don't give you don't love god and if you don't do this you're going to go to oh i don't want to go to hell i better start doing it you you ain't going to make it but if you can ever fall in love with the everlasting father i love him i love him he's done nothing but good to me he's been nothing but good to me he has blessed me i don't deserve it he has reached down and picked me up turned me around i wish somebody would shout i love him i love him i love him even since i've been serving him i've stumbled and failed but he'll reach down and pick me up and say come on i love him i love him i love him i love him i love him i love him i love him i love him i love him he is my everlasting father jesus such should be stoned but what do you say let me tell you something let me give you something better than a commandment a commandment that has love because jesus said yeah i wrote that but i'm also loved and love is able to fall on us when we've broken his commandments just stay with me today don't give up on yourself or no one else when they break a commandment did you hear me don't give up on yourself don't give up on anybody else you know why well don't you know they broke the commandment i absolutely know they broke the commandment but i absolutely know that there's a love there's a god who is love that the breaking of the commandment does not cause him to walk away and wipe his hands and say i'm done with you i was preaching he's preaching alabama camp this past week feel right now like i felt there at one service i i had some things god was telling me to say and i stopped from it and i said you know folks i'm about to say something and i heard one voice in the audience it was my wife i heard her say god help us let's say something thank god for the gifts of the spirit thank god for tongues interpretation ministries of healing word of wisdom going up and whispering in somebody's ear until i thank god for that thank god for outrunning cue jumping rolling the floor thank god for all that demonstrative worship but if i had to choose between having the gifts operating and having every person in this church run in the aisles if i had to choose either that or having love among us i wouldn't even have to i wouldn't even have to blink an eye on what i tell you some people are so pharisaic you cannot have the gifts operating and not have the love of the of the gift-giver in the same vein i i don't want to know how loud your church is and how much we dance if we can't operate in the love of the everlasting what what don't you know what he did i don't care what he did he's in the house of god and my my job isn't to re-examine the breaking of the commandment but my job is to get the lab poured out on i wish somebody just start praising god right now i wish we would run every pharisaical spirit out of this church i wish we would run every hypocritical pharisaical spirit judge you because you don't dance judge you because we don't have tongues of interpretation get on out of here we want our love we want the love of the father among us corinthians the corinthian church was bickering over the gifts of the spirit bickering over this bickering over that the corinthian church had the gifts of the spirit in operation but i will remind you too they also had a son sleeping with his own mother i'll also tell you that they were getting drunk at communion so before you hold the gifts of the spirit and demonstrative worship up to the highest pinnacle of us pleasing god you better step back and listen to me now first corinthians 12 31 listen to paul but covet earnestly the best gifts yet i show unto you a more excellent way though a man has all the gifts and has not charity he is sounding brass and a tingling symbol that's all he is can i tell you today that i want the love of the everlasting father to sweep through this place every young boy that has thrown away his morals you're not marked you're not damaged you're not second class you are a recipient for the love of the almighty god come on church come out church first corinthians 2 13 and 12 for now we see through a glass darkly but then face to face now i know in part but then shall i know even as i am known and now watch this look at this and now abideth faith hope and charity these three but the greatest of these is love you want to know what god looks like wrap your arm around a prodigal you want to know what god looks like tell somebody that's bringing up somebody's sin you shut your mouth they've done pray through i don't want to hear another thing about it i don't want to hear anything about it you mean he's back in the choir yeah get over it you mean she's maculous yeah get over it because love travels a multitude of sin well y'all standing i guess that's time for me to quit come on come on musician come on let me end it with this right here please let me end it with this please let me end it with this y'all can pray i can multitask y'all pray y'all baptize folks i can multitask you hear me a king you you elijah was sick and on this door the king came to him and said these words my father my father the chariot of israel and the horsemen thereof in other words he said man you've been our strength my father my father you've been our strength can i tell you something today love lifted me when brother erickson elisha's face sunk in he's not calling fire down i like an elisha to love i think we got some love getting sick here in the church love's been our strength love was what caused salty tears to roll off your face the first time you walked in here the king looked at him and said you're my strength he said am i he said hand me a bow and arrow and the king handed elisha bow and arrow he said open the window and the man opened the window he said put your hands on my hands and so now the king look at him wrapping his arms around this frail elisha he said pull but pull it back he pulled it back and he shot the arrow love looked at him and said that's the very thing that'll cause you to conquer all your sins said you're going to conquer syria said god has given you deliverance you're going to conquer syria then he said love looked at him and said would you take the arrow and when you smite the ground the king took the arrow and he hit the ground three times tap tap tap about that time that old man of god the last fire that he had inside of him he stood up and he gave a strong rebuke he said because you have-heartedly tapped the ground three times you're gonna have partial victory you should have smitten it five or six times in other words you knew what it would work you should have wore it out you should have wore the ground out used to the word out folks we ought to wear the altar out today with love we ought to we ought to wear this place out we are we are just somebody do you realize today somebody could be encouraged just a hand put on them right now and praying with them would you do that with me right now would you just put your hand over on somebody it would be appropriate can y'all sing love lifted me erickson can y'all sing love lifted me come on do do that right now i believe what what a young couple needs a marriage counseling you you really don't you just need a good baptism of love oh god help me to love her oh god help me to love her god help me to home i said just tie a white ribbon around that tree if i see a white ribbon he said i i she said i'll know that i i can come home and if i don't i'll stay on the train anticipation started building she knew the next turn was going to reveal the tree she couldn't stand to look anticipation was growing and finally she asked the conductor there in the car she said i can't stand to look sir but would you tell me if there's a white ribbon tied around a tree and all she began to hear was the old conductor saying my oh my oh my what do you see mr conductor said ma'am said there is a white ribbon tied to every branch on that tree but said that's not the main thing said there's a wide-headed old man and old woman standing beside the tracks with white bed sheets waving them up and down telling you you can come home that's the way our father's doing today he's waving at what betsy come on church come on church let's gather in the altar come on some of you here today that need to pray
