Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Three texts: the land and the city

  • He reads from three texts: God's call to Abram to get out of his country and from his kindred to a land God would show him; Abraham's obedience by faith, going out not knowing where he went; and John's sight of the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.
  • Abraham sojourned in the land of promise as in a strange country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, because he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God — and what John saw is what Abraham was looking for.
  • Two titles are offered for the message — from beginning to the end, and a land with a plan — with the warning at the outset that he will begin today but will not get finished.

Scriptures: Genesis 12:1; Hebrews 11:8-10; Revelation 21:2-3

Belief that changes behavior

  • Believing must affect the way a person lives: as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also — a belief that changes nothing is not yet working belief.
  • He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: baptism is the believer's act of faith, not an optional step to be taken after salvation.
  • As the bride of Christ, the church should live in a spirit of anticipation of the wedding day, busy getting ready so that day does not catch her unaware.

Scriptures: James 2:26; Mark 16:16

Without spot or wrinkle

  • The bride's garment must be without spot: a spot is a defilement, and one little spot defiles the whole garment — as a torn place in his suit, mended almost invisibly, still made the whole suit ruined in his wife's estimation.
  • The wrinkle is a spiritual analogy rather than the wrinkles of age: there may be snow on the rooftop, he says of himself nearing sixty, but there is a fire down in the fireplace.
  • The wrong question is whether a thing is wrong or will send a person to hell; the right question is whether it is right and will draw a person closer to Jesus — and the land of Israel is the thing to watch as the end approaches.

The promise, the mountain, and the deliverer

  • God told Abram that his seed would be strangers in a land that was not theirs and serve there four hundred years, and afterward come out with great substance; when God who is eternal speaks, the passing of time does not make the promise less real.
  • In the land of Moriah — the name means chosen by Jehovah — Abraham was told to offer the son who carried the promise, and answered that son's question with prophecy: God will provide himself a lamb.
  • Jesus told those about to stone him that Abraham rejoiced to see his day and saw it, and that before Abraham was, I am.
  • At the burning bush God told Moses, I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and bring them to a good land and a large, flowing with milk and honey.

Scriptures: Genesis 15:13; Genesis 22:1-2; John 8:58; Exodus 3:8

The Jebusites left in the city

  • The children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites from Jerusalem — the record does not say they could not, but that they did not — and the youngest tribe, representing the future, was left sharing the city with them.
  • He traces the sarcastic, critical spirit of the Jebusites back through Canaan to the mocking in Noah's tent, and gives the cure for sarcasm: get busy working for God.
  • David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to a Jerusalem Israel did not control; years later he came back, and though the Jebusites mocked him from the wall with the blind and the lame set on it, he took the stronghold of Zion by the water course.

Scriptures: Judges 1:21; 1 Samuel 17:54; 2 Samuel 5:6-7

Moriah bought, and a house built on it

  • Sent to build an altar on a certain threshingfloor, David refused the owner's offer to give him everything: he would not offer burnt offerings to God of that which cost him nothing, and bought the floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver — and the plague was stayed from Israel.
  • Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in Mount Moriah, in the place David had prepared — the same mountain where Abraham worshipped, so the plan for the land runs from the beginning to the end on one chosen mount.

Scriptures: 2 Samuel 24:24-25; 2 Chronicles 3:1

The slow fade

  • Centuries before there was a king in Israel, the law of the king was given: he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor wives, nor greatly multiply gold and silver — old paths already hundreds of years old when Solomon came to the kingdom.
  • Solomon did all three: chariots and horsemen by the thousand, horses brought out of Egypt, silver made as stones in Jerusalem; and his seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines turned his heart after other gods, and he built high places for their gods.
  • The bride must not choose Solomon's slow fade — forgetting the old paths and excusing the spot because of how much right she is doing; and the first thing to go in a slow fade is the prayer life.
  • The message closes with a call to renew the prayer life and not let the walk with God fade in the closing days just before the rapture.

this morning I'm going to begin but I am NOT going to get finished I'm going to go ahead and tell you today I'm not going to get finished I'm going to stop because it's often been said that the mind can only conceive what the seat can endure so I'm gonna be mindful today of the time but I'm not going to get finished I feel like the Lord has given me a special message for the hour I'm gonna read from three texts today my first text will be in Genesis 12 and verse number 1 now the Lord had said unto Abram get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee Hebrews chapter 11 verse number 8 by faith Abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance obeyed and he went out not knowing whether he went my faith he sojourned in the land of promise and I'm making emphasis of that in the land of promise as in a strange country dwelling in Tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob the heirs with him of the same promise for he looked for a city which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God Revelation chapter 21 verse number 2 and I John saw the holy city New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them and be their God not only is it a rather strange way to begin a message by telling you I'm not gonna get finished I give you another strange point of this I am battling two titles for today I battled two titles so I'm just going to go ahead and give you both of them you choose what you want to use number one from beginning to the end from beginning to the end this is my first title but my second title is a land with a plan a land with a plan father let's pray right now father we love you God we thank you today for your word Lord I thank you today God that you have given us your word Lord you have given us God the word is a compass as a light you have given us God your word Lord it's the only way we can be begotten is by your word Lord I pray today that we have receptive ears I pray today God that our hearts are open Lord that we will we will read this word and allow this word to enter into our hearts and allow this word God to prepare us for that great day Lord I pray for all the wonderful saints of God of first epistatic Maryville and first epistatic of Sevierville I pray today God for those that are with us but by the online ministry from other places around our world I ask God today that you would be in their home that the Holy Ghost come through the speakers God that the Holy Ghost filled their homes right now and let there be a great change in Jesus name we pray amen amen you may be seated from beginning to the end or a land with a plan my desire with this study in the word this morning is to help us the church to believe that we are approaching we are approaching the end of the world we are approaching the end of the world now when I say that I don't want you to reach it please don't don't don't don't don't go to another don't don't don't don't get ready to I don't guess you change channels that don't don't don't don't don't move all to somebody that's that's gonna tell you you're more than a conqueror and you're gonna make it up and I believe I believe that but also I'm under a mandate to preach the word and the word instructs us about the end of the world so I'm I'm not being a gloom and doom preacher today I'm just wanting to teach a Bible truth I want to preach a Bible truth to the intent that I can cause us to believe to believe that we are living in the end of the world we're living in the end in time now when I say believe I'm not just saying believers you've got a heart knowledge but I'm saying you're going to believe until it affects the way you live you're going to believe until it absolutely affects your behavior you're going to believe until it affects your actions because you can believe something all day long but if it doesn't affect how you think and how you act then all you're doing is just mentally believing something and and even maybe even not truly believing it'll come I want you to believe I want to preach this and teach this this morning and tonight until you not only believe we're living in the end of the world but that you'll start having works belief because Bible says in the book of James chapter 2 verse number 26 for as the body without the Spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also so I could say I believe something all day long but if I don't have anything in my life to back it it's dead it's dead it has no effect upon my life we even understand the importance that believing is not the end believing is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus Christ we must believe upon the only begotten Son of God and that's where that's where we begin the Bible said that he that come up to God must first believe that he is and that he is a rewarder but we don't stop just because we believe the Bible says in mark chapter 16 and verse number 16 he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned notice he said he that believeth is not saved and should be baptized that's a that's the way a lot of people would like for you to read that that if you believe then you're saved then you should be baptized well there's problem with that is the scripture doesn't teach that it says he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved why is that because that act of baptism is your act of faith that you have actually believed something to the extent that you're going to work you're going to let it alter your life you're going to let it change you as believers today who in typology as believers in typology we represent the Bride of Christ we are in in typology we represent the bride now this bride as the Bride of Christ we must keep a spirit of anticipating that wedding day that that spirit as the bride we we have got to keep a spirit of anticipation of the wedding day and I I know a little bit about this today Nolan our our son our baby our baby is getting married on on on June 5th and the location is kovat 19 yet to be determined all right and so being around him and Flannery you kind of see that that excitement there they're busy you see he proposed many months ago and they started talking but now we're coming down to that that June 5th date and now there's Tripps young men are going and getting fitted for suits and young lady's sister Yoko's at work making it a wedding dress and making the bridesmaids dresses and and it's starting to become a time that's becoming an occupied with that with that date now I've said all that to say this as we are coming to the end of the world the behavior of the Bride of Christ should be one of anticipation it should be one of getting ready we we've got to make sure that we're getting ready we don't want that day we don't want that data to catch us unaware we want to be to be ready to that day and we want to be involved in the work of the gospel amen as the Bride of Christ and what should we be doing right now as the church well what we should be doing right now is the church's individuals we should be making sure that our garment does not have what Paul said a spot all right Paul said I don't want you to have a spot on that garment now that spot that word there means a defilement it means that it means a spot on that garment it means a spot on that garment that that that absolutely defiles that whole garment might be a little might be a little spot might be just a little spot but that little spot can defile that entire garment up I'm sorry today for the personal references but my son is building a house and the bricklayers the block layers were overlaying the block and they put these pieces of metal they put these pieces of metal on the on the edge of the block on the foundation and what it does when they lay the the two before down for the wall they'll wrap that piece of metal around and it's a it's a measure to where if a tornado comes it helps to keep the house connected to the to the slab and when I went over there all the was was the block and those little short pieces of metal when I was I was wearing a suit like like this one and I was over there walking around and I got too close I got too close to the brick wall and that sharp piece of metal just come out and it tore a hole in my suit pants about yay long back about two inches right down here above the knee now you say well I went up as Karpin and she said oh you've ruined that suit well not in my estimation I've not run the suit now I took it to suit to Yoko I'm giving you some business today I took it to sister Yoko and I said can you fix this and she said sure and so she sewed it up I said try to try to make it to where nobody can tell I ripped it miss she did such a good job and if I can ever sneak that suit out of the closet I'm gonna wear it again how long I'm gonna wear that suit again because you would have to be looking awful hard to see where I rip I ripped that right there but in my wife's estimation that whole suit is ruined the whole thing is run well Paul was saying if the bride has just a spot has just a spot on her garment he says the whole garment is is is run is the whole garment it doesn't matter that 99% of the garment is why the everybody's just going to see that one little spot of defilement has the Bride of Christ right now in the end of time I believe that we need to be looking over our lives over our garments and making sure that there's no spot upon that garment and then he says this he says Paul says about the bride he's sitting up without spot or wrinkle or wrinkle and I got to thinking about wrinkle and I looked up it I wanted to find the meaning of the word and I found out brother Nolan that wrinkle means wrinkle that's what means it just means a wrinkle it means it has reference to the skin and it means it means a wrinkle no I begin to think it will not the Lord I know that you're not excluding us older people from the brighter I know that you're not excluding some of us and getting wrinkles on our face and I know that you're not excluding me Lord so I begin to see that the analogy there is a is a spiritual analogy and the analogy is the wrinkle is is one age gets on you and and you begin to get older and and in your skin and your skin begins to wrinkle because of age can I tell you that many years ago God saved me God filled me with the Holy Ghost I was baptized in his name my life was changed from from a sinner from somebody that that was hellbound somebody that that was going the opposite way of God but he changed me as a 16 year old boy now come next month June the 10th I'll turn into a 60 year old man next month on June the 10th and I won't have a body to know that I may be getting gray on top but inside of my heart there's a red passion for the love and the for the proclamation of the Lord's Jesus Christ I may be getting that if the old fella said one time about being gray-headed he said there might be snow on the rooftop but there's a fire down in the fireplace there may be snow getting up here on the rooftop but I want you to know that I still love Jesus today he's getting sweeter every day I'm not gonna let this good a Holy Ghost salvation get hold in my life I love him today Morgan I've ever loved him in all of my life well spot without wrinkle and then he said without any such thing you know a lot of times the bride's gonna get tripped up because it's not necessarily spelled out in the Bible too many people ask the wrong question they'll ask about doing a certain thing and they'll say is this wrong will I go to hell if I do this you're asking the wrong question you need to ask is this right will this help me be drawn more toward Jesus Christ because at the end of time the bride needs to look out for the spot she needs to look out for the wrinkle and then she needs to look out for any such thing anything that that's like a spot or like a wrinkle in other words anything that would take away from my testimony I need to put it to the side because we're living in the end time we're living in the time just before he's going to sound the trumpet and the church is going to be raptured out of this world we are living in that time and as a pastor as a shepherd of this flock I want us to understand that we're living in this time I guess in prayer yesterday maybe the day before yesterday I begin to think about how blessed what a blessing this has been to have our online ministry I begin to think of the connection we have stayed connected a lot of us have stayed connected through this in line online men Street and I began to think what if something happened one day that would we didn't have the on what if another kovat 19 hit and along with Kovac 19 what if the ability to to stream what if the online the internet was no longer and I began to think about my life and my family I began to think about my church family if we were not able to communicate the last 30 days that we've not been meeting here in the auditorium I began to think what if we what if we weren't able to communicate what would I like for you to know what would I like for each family what would I like each family maybe to keep their their ear tuned toward and their eye upon what would I want you to know and I came up with this now I know something said well love Jesus and pray and and I understand I understand all that but what would I want the church to be looking for in the world as as as kindly a connect the dot to the times and I came up with the Land of Israel I came up with the land of Israel that that miracle land those miracle people and so I went back to the very I went back to the very beginning and I read in the very beginning of Abraham of which we get our faith that God told him that he was going to bring him unto a land a land yacht said I've got a land that I'm going to show you we know that Abraham went out not knowing where he went but he was a stranger in the land of promise Abraham was a stranger in the land of promise or the Land of Israel it Hebrews tells us that he went out not knowing where he went he sojourned he was in the he was in the Land of Israel as country he dwelled in tents with his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob in many sitting of Hebrews 11 and 10 for he looked for a city he was looking for a city that had foundations whose builder and maker was God he was looking for this this city I want to submit to you that when God gave Abraham faith in May brahim developed his faith that Abraham's faith takes us from the beginning to the end because he was looking for a city it wasn't so this wouldn't be in the Bible he was he was looking for a city that had foundations whose builder and maker is God now I believe with all my heart the scripture tells us in Revelation 21 - that what john saw was what abraham was looking for abraham was looking for a city that had foundations whose builder and maker is God and john said i saw the holy city New Jerusalem coming down out of God from God out of heaven you see when the scripture tells us that I looked in Adam Clarke's commentary and I read from his commentary this morning he said for he looked for a city which had foundations Adam Clarke says he knew that earth could could afford no permanent residence for an immortal mind now listen to that Abraham knew that there was nothing on this earth that whatever suffice and truly house man and he looked for that heavenly building of which God is the architect and owner in a word he lost sight of Earth that he might keep heaven in view mr. Donham Clark Adam Clark said Abraham got out he got to looking for a city whose builder and maker was God but he had to lose sight of the earth in order to keep the faith view we have to shut our eyes to material things to the to the few comforts this earth to give us and I know people say well I love my family and I love things the way they are right now but I got news for you we can't stay here we can't stay here he's got a better land for us we can't stay here that it's a nice you believe it brother Steve Wilson said you you don't have to go to heaven but you you're not gonna stay here all right and the truth of the matter is sure the ways of God have been a blessing upon us sure the ways of obeying God has brought prosperity to our lives but in the end of time we've got to understand God's got something far better than the little blessings that he has put upon us because we have been married and because we've raised our kids in the faith you see Abraham was saying there's a there's a city out here somewhere there's a city out of boy in this land there's a city out here somewhere that hath foundations whose builder and maker is God he shut his eyes to the earth that he might keep heaven in you listen to Adam Clarke and all who are partakers of his faith possessed the same spirit walked by the same rule and mind the same thing whose builder and maker is God the book of Hebrews says the word builder signifies an architect one who plans one who calculates and one who constructs a building he is the architect he is the architect of this land he is the architect of the church what did Jesus say after they gave the revelation of who Jesus Christ is What did he say upon this rock I will build my church if he's gonna if Jesus is gonna build that makes Jesus a builder the Bible said whose builder and maker is God he's the architect he calculates he knows how deep the foundation oughta be he knows what type of concrete to put in there he knows the size of the steel he knows how to put the building together praise God I'm glad to be in the Church of the Living God this morning because a lot of things are going to go down but when everything is going down praise God the church is going up I'm glad to be in a part of something today whose builder and maker is God the word maker notice here that he's not only the Builder of the city he's the maker of this city the word maker signifies a governor over a people one who forms them by institutions and laws the framer of a political Constitution God is here represented as the maker or father of all the heavenly inhabitants and the planner of their citizenship in that heavenly country praise God aren't you thankful for that today that he is the Builder and the maker of that city he not only purchased the church with his blood but then he turns around and he tells the church by the Word of God the Bible said were washed by the Word of God he cleanses us he makes us into his image this land with a plan we understand something about this land in Genesis chapter 15 and verse number 13 this listen to God speak to Abraham and he said unto Abram know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs now what land is he talking about and shall serve them and they shall afflict them 400 years also that lent that nation whom they have served will I judge and afterward they shall come out with great substance now here's what he said God said Abraham I'm going to cause your seed to be taken down to a land that's not theirs they're taken from Canaan the land with the plan to Egypt and they're in Egypt they're going to be for several hundred years and God said afterward I'm going to bring them out I believe it was over 400 years and I'm going to stop here and inject something let us not allow time to cause us to think that it's not real because when God who is eternal speak something when he said to Abraham your seed is going to go down to a land that's not theirs they're going to move from Canaan land to Egypt and they're going to be there for hundred some-odd years and afterwards I'm going to bring them out it didn't matter when a hundred years went by God's promise was just as real as it was when in 200 years 300 years isn't amazing that these descendants of Abraham these these these these descendants of the faith of Abraham that for hundred years could not erase from them that there was a promise of deliverance that was coming it's also amazing in Genesis chapter 22 and verse number one now please notice Abraham is dwelling in the land of Israel the land of promise he came to pass after these things that God did tempt Abram Abraham and said unto Him Abraham and he said Behold here am I and he said take now thy son thine only son Isaac whom thou lovest and get the into the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell them now this is suing for tiata underline this in your Bible because this is the land where do you want to where do you want me to take my promise where do you want to take my promise Isaac represented the promise the fulfillment of the promise now God says to Abraham take your promise and take him into the land of Moriah and offer him upon one of the mountains it spells it out the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will tell them now we understand that this entire story is rich rich rich in typology it's rich in typology because this is God giving us a promise on Mount Moriah God gave us a promise on Mount Moriah and it's it's it's it's rich in typology how God would give his only begotten son and abraham in typology Abraham and typology was God Isaac was the only begotten Son and in typology he's offering up Isaac but listen to what Isaac says as he's going up the mountain he says father because Isaac this was not the first time Isaac and his father and worship together and that's a hope that's a whole sermon in itself we ought to worship so frequent with our children until our children know what goes into worship and knows what's missing in worship so Abraham and Isaac are going up the mountain and a Isaac said father here's the fire here's the wood but where's the lamb where's the lamb and Abraham spoke prophetic words and some believe when Abraham spoke these words that this is what he Jesus was referring to when Jesus told the Pharisees that were about to stone him he said in John chapter 8 Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it he saw my day and they said you have seen Abraham how is it you're not yet fifty years old and you claim to see Abraham and then this is where they really got upset he said before Abraham was I am oh he spoke of being the eternal Jehovah and so Abraham going up the mountain Isaac says here's the fire here's the wood but where's the lamb and then Abraham spoke these prophetic words my son God will provide himself a lamb God will provide or read that God will provide himself or God will become God will become that lamb but that happened on Mount Moriah the word Moriah the word of Moriah means chosen by Jehovah chosen by Jehovah what made that mountain but Mount Moriah special it was the one God chose what made that mountain special it was the one that was chosen before of God years go by four hundred and some-odd years go by Moses is on the backside of the desert sees the burning bush goes up to the burning bush and in Exodus chapter three and verse number Exodus chapter three and verse number eight God said I am come down to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large unto the land flowing with milk and with honey unto the land to the place of the Canaanites the Hittites the animal rights of parasites the Hivites and the Jebusites and that were jibby aside is important to note there and I want to go ahead and inject the Jebusites the people of the Jebusites the Jebusites are the descendants and they are that they are the descendants of ham ham was with the one that marked his father's nakedness ham is that one he is a descendant of Canaan he is a descendant of the one that mocked his drunken father Noah when Noah lay in his tent drunk it was him that mocked it was him that that that malt and now this is a descendant of him the Jebusites and I just want you to remember that just remember the Jebusites now going back to the verse of scripture 400 years later God says I'm bringing them out when the first time God said it God had already told Abraham in Genesis 15 I'm going to bring them out so please bride church please understand don't allow time to discourage you don't sit and say well I heard about the rapture when I was a little boy I heard about that all my life you might have heard about it 80 years ago 90 years ago some of you best would be a hundred today saying you heard of it but I don't it's irrelevant today if it was 80 years ago or eight minutes ago when God says you're going down there and 400 years later I'm bringing you back when the 400 years hits the mark god has a mark God has a timetable God has a time chart in heaven and when that time chart hit God said it's time to go down and activate what I spoke 430 years ago a burning bush and now he tells Moses that I'm going to bring them out and bring them back to this land that with a plan where they went down Moses went down and delivered them and and time goes on and in the book of Judges chapter number 1 and verse number 21 in the book of Judges the 12 tribes are going into the and that abraham was given for a land of promise is going into that land and they are now going to go in and take their part of that land and it says in judges chapter 1 verse 21 and the children of Benjamin did not drive out the jpo sites that inhabited Jerusalem but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in the in Jerusalem unto this day now now look what happened there were there was a seed you know I have to be very careful because I can just stop right here because we were I don't believe in generational curses per se as much as as much in my spirit about the things of God will without fail flavor my children how I view the things of God if I am positive about the work of God I'm going to raise children that more than likely they're going to be positive about the things of God if I am teaching to my children that Jesus Christ is the greatest thing that could ever happen to a person if I could preach to them if I could preach to them that Jesus Christ in the ways of God all the ways of God are the greatest thing more than likely they're going to have a spirit that has the same flavor but if I'm negative if I'm sarcastic if I don't see the value of the church is that any wonder that our children don't see the value of the church and our grandchildren don't see the value of the church you see these Jeb besides had had the seed in them of sarcasm these jabya sites were tied all the way back to him when he he mocked his father Noah as he was drunk instead of doing something to cover shame it was him that was the broadcast it was him the one that telling everybody what foolish-looking thing that that their father looked like it was it was him that did that and because of that there was a curse put upon them and he said cursed be be Canaan the curse should be him instead of servant of service should he be tit that the three sons ham Shem and Japheth he said that you're going to have to serve do you know that the only antidote the the the the only serum the the the oh the only cure for sarcasm is to get busy working for God too many people too many people are sarcastic about the ways of God because they're not really doing anything to promote the ways of God and so god looked down it wasn't a curse upon it wasn't a curse upon Canaan Canaan that they would have be the servants of their brothers but it was God saying you don't need to allow this sarcastic spirit to multiply throughout the scene because if you allow this to multiply in this keep going from generation to generation and Noah was the one that built the art I know that that Noah had some flaws just like every church has got flaws every church may have a flaw or two but I've often said it I'll say it again that the church at its worst it's better than the world at its best any day of the week and so he God was giving God was giving them the serum God was giving them the cure for being sarcastic the cure for being critical and said just get busy get busy singing in the choir get busy being an usher get busy mowing the churchyard get busy passing out tracts get busy teaching a home Bible study get busy doing the things of God but these jabya sites they've got this sarcastic I'm going to show you this in a moment I've got this sarcastic spirit and the danger with Benjamin Benjamin is the younger generation if there's something we must keep our young people away from is the spirit of the Jebusites the Bible said of judges 1:21 and the children of Israel did not drive out the Jebusites it didn't say they could not it said they did not I don't know did they have a conversation with the Jebusites did they talk to the Japanese sights a little bit and and maybe begin to understand a little bit of their sarcasm I don't know but they did not drive out the Jebusites from Jerusalem so now we have Jerusalem being a mixed breed of have Benjamin I big mites and have jumpy sites half our future Benjamin the youngest represents our future half our future is in a city with the Jebusites and this doesn't turn out well at all because will later see that Benjamin is absolutely absent from Jerusalem and the jebusites are in firm control but something interesting happened something interesting happened a young boy was anointed by the prophet Samuel a young boy unheard of in Israel made his way onto a battlefield and the headlines in Israel was Goliath but an unknown boy by the name of David stepped out on the battlefield that afternoon and before it was over the unknown boy by the name of David held two things in his hands the head of Goliath and a sword of Goliath those are two things but the Nolan he held in his hand he held can't you see him reach done any twist his fingers in throughout the curly black head of the Philistine collide here each dumb he had it he said little boy had that head in one hand and it's so or fought a picture what a picture the head and the sword what you do at the head David First Samuel chapter 17 and verse number 54 first Samuel 17 verse number 54 and David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem but he put his armor in his tent and here's the thing you can understand they didn't control Jerusalem at that time you read Bible Bible history you read the Bible but the hemin they were not in control of Jerusalem at that time who was controlling the gates who was the mayor of the city who was in all the stores who was ruling the city you guessed it the gem you sites were the critical was in side the city but I can just see I have to use my imagination on this I just see the emoji besides cheapen the walls of Jerusalem walking around and keeping the walls Kosei they just knew that this you know that the only way they can stay in control is to Bluff people the only way they can stay in control is to to be critical you know only way they can multiply is to get more critical folks with them and all of a sudden teachers sitting I'm using my imagination one day I do have a little foundation here the Bible does say he took his head to Jerusalem I don't know if he stood out there on the edge of the wall it said hey Jeb your site's hey I got something I want to give you today and whew he took them through that head up over the wall yeah what in the world just came over the wall and he hit on the dirt and they looked and they said that's the head of Goliath that's the head of Goliath and I don't know I'm using my imagination here I don't know that one old David's starting to walk it away with probably kalaiy sword dragging the ground he was so short such a young man dragging the ground I don't know if he didn't look back maybe had a little tweak of hair sticking out the back maybe a few freckles across his nose I don't know if he didn't look back when the Jeb your sights were going huh I don't know if he didn't look back and say I'll be back I'll be back because God has a plan for this city God has a plan for Jerusalem what he did come back he did come back years later in second Samuel Chapter five verse number six he didn't come back he came back to take the city he gets outside the city second Samuel five and verse number six and the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites that's right they're still there inhabitants of the land which spake unto David saying except they'll take away the blind and the lame thou shalt not come in hither thinking David cannot come in he'll you see that old sarcastic spirit you don't want the old Jeb aside from saying on the wall they say we ain't afraid of you David you might not you might have scared us a few months ago with that head of Goliath over the wall waiting afraid you said we'll look look here what we're gonna do we're gonna put crippled people and blind people on the wall that's how much we're afraid of you we're gonna we're going to put crippled people laying people and we're gonna put blind people in and I'm David if you can if you can get through if you can get through the and the blind people you can have us isn't that the way cynical people sarcastic people want it they want they they want to paint something I mean if you can get through if you can get through this David how cynical how cynical they were nevertheless verse number seven nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion the same is the City of David and David said on that day whosoever get it up to the gutter and smite at the Jebusites and the lame and the blind that are hated up David so he shall be chief and captain wherefore they said the blind of the lame shall not come into thine house David said oh I won't make an ounce of it all y'all today he said I want you to I want you to go a different route he said they're expecting us to come over the wall but said we're going to the word gutter there means the the the water supply it meant the conduit of the water supply said they're looking for us to come over the wall and they a bunch of blind folks and a bunch of laying people up there to try to intimidate us and but but said I tell you how we're going to go we're going to get the City of Jerusalem because we're going up through the water we're going to come to we're going to come up through the water and we know that David's men went up through the conduit and David's David's men took Jerusalem that day and they expelled all the Jeb de sites out of the City of Jerusalem and no longer did no not only that God have a plan for a land but now God has a specific plan for the City of Jerusalem there's something about the city of Jerusalem that God has a plan for now he had to plan for the land but now he has the plan of the City of Jerusalem but before I move on to that point I want to bring this out to us isn't it amazing he's an amazing that Jerusalem was a small Canaanite city in the center of Israel yet 400 years after God's command to Israel to take the whole land this city was still in Canaanite hands I mean God gave them the promise four hundred years before that and four hundred years people occupy everything around Giroux Israel but that one city that's right I believe the enemy knew to camp out there because God not only has a plan for the land but God has a plan for the city of Jerusalem some years later David finds himself in trouble he finds himself with the angel of the Lord spoke a little bit of this the other night but he needs to build an altar he needs to have a place where God and man connect through a sacrifice the Prophet GAD told him in 2nd Samuel 24 verse 23 he told him to go to a certain threshing floor and the Bible says and all these things he goes to a certain threshing floor the owner was err aronia and he tells aronia I'm here to build an altar I'm here to offer up sacrifice to God and aronia tells him I'll give you all these things all these things did aronia as a king given to the king and aronia said unto the king the Lord thy God except thee and the King said it to aronia know nay but I will surely buy it of thee at a price neither will offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing so David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver and David built there an altar unto the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings so the Lord was entreated for the land and the plague was stayed for Israel David gets up there and aronia said I'll just give you this just here here's the wood here's the oxen this is a sacrifice that will cost you nothing but David oh he said no nay I'll never approach my God with an offering that it does not cost me something and he he dealt out the shekels of silver and he bought he bought the threshing floor he bought an area of ground and built an altar and no more threshing for aronia this now becomes David's property but David wants to build God a house David sets one night in his Cedar house David sets one night in his prosperity and David is bothered he said I'm dwelling in a cedar house and he said yet out yonder is the Ark of the Covenant out yonder is the Ark of the Covenant and it's it's housed in cloth tent it's out there in a tent somewhere and David said I want to build God a magnificent house I want a bill God a house that he can dwell in and and they got the Prophet and Prophet said do all that's in your heart but the Lord tapped the Prophet on the shoulder and said you go back and tell David that he's not allowed to build me a house because he's a man of blood you go back and tell David that he can't build he can't build a house but nonetheless God didn't say I don't want a house he simply told David you're not gonna build it and you know something if you want to do something bad enough you'll find a loophole if you really want to do something bad enough he come back and he said he said you can't build it he said well if I can't build a house I reckon my boy he didn't say nobody could build him a house did he did he say I don't want a house bill no I didn't say that did he say that none of my family community doesn't know you didn't build a he said I'm gonna tell you I'm gonna let Solomon build this house and I may not be able to build it but I'll go ahead and save up the gold I'll go up and save up the silver I'll go up in the Bible said David of his own retirement gave it of his own wealth not the taxes of the people David of his own retirement of his own 401k David of his own Goods begin to heap riches because David wanted there to be a house of the Lord to be built years go by David dies and in second chronicles chapter three and verse number one listen to this now 2nd chronicles chapter 3 and verse number 1 then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount moriah where the Lord appeared unto David his father in the place that David had prepared for a threshing floor of Onan it was aronia the GEB gisado i want to preach so many things out of this one verse here and that better rona was a Jeb aside and just because you're critical doesn't mean that you are lost to be critical if you'll sell out to a David that wants to worship God God can take that critical spirit and can make you into something that can remember throughout scripture but that's not I've got a I'm preaching today on a land with a plan from beginning to the ending you see something miraculous here God told Abraham to go to Mount Moriah the place that says chosen by Jehovah it is there that I won't the enactment of Calvary to be but he didn't stop there when the plague needed to stop it was God that told David to go to aronia to go to that that Mount which was Mount Moriah and David bought Mount Moriah Abraham worshiped on Mount Moriah David bought mount moriah and a few years later Solomon comes around and says I want to build a house unto God on Mount Moriah old friend I just got teased something today I praise Him right now because we're living in the end of the world and the soon coming of Jesus Christ is upon us the Bible wants us to see that he had a land with a plan and he kept his promises to the nation of Israel turn your news on be it Fox News be it CNN news be it any major Network I would submit to you that you can't listen for 30 minutes without hearing of the people of Israel and the Jewish people who by the way are despised in this world God has a plan for the land God has a plan for Jerusalem God has a plan too many things happened too many things happened upon that mount that's the same mountain range that's the same place that Abraham I offered up Isaac it's the same place that David built an altar for the plague to go away it's the same place that Solomon built the house of God and it's the same mountain range that God wrote in human flesh what city he was crucified in Jerusalem was put upon that same mountain range of Moriah in the Mount of the Lord it is chosen but old friend and this is where I said I probably will not get finished today Solomon builds a house to God a dwelling place of Jehovah fire of divine presence kisses the ground and tells the world that Jehovah God the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob dwell in that Magnifico house that Solomon has built but you see with Solomon there was the slow fade if we don't watch it as the bride will go into a slow fade to where that's just a spot look at how much right I'm doing I know I've got this spot but look at how much right I'm doing we'll get into a slow fade where our audience don't believe you don't have to do all that emotional hand waving and crying and all of that stuff we'll get a spiritual wrinkle on us and you know all of a sudden we'll begin to have things in our life of such things you see Solomon Solomon goes into a slow fade because he forgot the old paths no food today I'm no food today the old paths or what we need to seek after today as in ever before as the world is coming to an end the church needs to go back and find the old path it may be overgrown but you see long before Solomon ever took the kingdom as a matter of fact long before brother Nolan that there was even a king in Israel listen to what God says in Deuteronomy chapter 17 verse 14 when thou art coming to the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee and possess it and shalt dwell therein and shalt say I will set a king over me like as all the nations that are about me thou shalt in any wise said him king over thee whom the LORD thy God shall choose one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee that thou must not set a stranger over thee which is not thy brother but he shall not multiply horses to himself nor cause the people to return to Egypt to the end that he should multiply horses for as much as the Lord had said unto you ye shall henceforth return no more that way neither shall he multiply wives to himself that his heart turn away turn not away neither shall he greatly multiply to himself gold and silver do you know that when Solomon came to the kingdom these verses are hundreds of years old I would imagine they could be considered old paths I could imagine that scriptures that are hundreds of years old and somebody challenges Solomon this is how you're supposed to behave you're not supposed to multiply horses you're not supposed to multiply wives and I'm supposed to multiply wealth I can hear him now oh that's old fashioned oh that's something that's something great-great granddad used to do oh we're more educated now we know how to tame horses now we we know how to we know how to set limits around Egypt now we know we know about this but isn't it amazing and I closed today with our musicians coming that in first Kings chapter 10 verse number 26 and Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen and he had a thousand and four chariot's twelve thousand horsemen whom he bestowed in the cities of for chariots and with the King at Jerusalem and the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones Cedars made he to be a sycamore trees that are in the Vail for abundance and he had horses brought out of Egypt linen yarn the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price and a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver and a horse for four hundred and fifty and for all the kings of the Hittites that for all the kings of Syria did they bring out of him by their means first Kings 11 and verse number one but Solomon loved many strange women together with the daughter of Pharaoh women of the moabites ammonites zidonians and Hittites of the nation's concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel he shall not go into them neither shall they come in unto you for surely they will turn your heart away after their gods Solomon clave unto these in love and he had 700 wives princesses 300 concubines and his wives turned his heart for it came to pass when Solomon was old that his wives turned away his heart from after God happened to turn away his heart after gods and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God as was the heart of David his father Solomon went after Astaroth the goddess of the disa donee ins and after milking the abomination of the ammonites Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and went not fully after the Lord as did his father then did Solomon build a high place for shamash the abomination of Moab in the hill that is before Jerusalem and from Oh formally and the abomination of Eman and likewise did he for all his strange wives which burn incense and sacrificed and to their gods the very thing I could tell the bride something today I could tell the church something today laughing the old pass the laughter the old ways they may not have had lights and smoke and cameras and auditoriums it would see hundreds of people they didn't necessarily have relevant preachers that can hold up a Bible tell you you're more than conquerors that they had been a God that could try to power down in the service they had righteous men men didn't multiply horses they won't achieve a gym as far away from the church as they could be and men of morals we're married to one doctrine we don't need doctrines of another woman go to silver Solomon you should have evangelized the world with all the gold and silver that you had Solomon you chose the slow fade you chose the slow fade and want to stop right there and I'll continue this tonight the Lord willing but is your walk with God in a slow fade right now if the things you're doing this morning your life years ago that old gray-headed red-faced fists pounding pulpit preacher told you to stay away from I cried to you today Church I preach to you today let's go back to the old paths let's not have a slow fate of the bride right now that's not in this closing days just prior to the rapture you're gonna fall out of love with the bridegroom let's lift up our voices and our hands writing out like that like to ask all of those that are watching but just stand with me right now how will you stand with me now - getting your homes to begin to worship praise you today let's have a time of Prayer as a leader she worship right mate oh thank you lord I think you gonna make Oh this commercial Oh Oh my you ought to come back I felt a touch of the hand of the Lord upon my heart you know the first thing to go of a slow fade is our prayer life our prayer life our communication with our Heavenly bridegroom begins to go you don't talk you don't talk every day I promise you I promise you that a healthy bride and a healthy future bride and a healthy future groom you can't keep them off the phone they want to and want to talk from the morning to the evening because they love each other I don't want my prayer life to go I wonder today you join me let's renew our prayer life this morning let's renew our prayer life today can we can we have them sing this through again but could there be some prayer meetings break out all over I'm gonna tell you what when I leave the microphone right now we'll go down to the altar when it's gonna pray we're gonna pray for a few moments can we just get down and can we as pray today I don't want my prayer life that's the slow fate of Solomon the prayer life you're distorting ladies come on
