you have your bibles and would stand with me this evening or this this morning excuse me see i'm a week ahead i'm already in the evening turn with me in your bibles to first timothy chapter 3 and verse 15. why you're looking for that let me let me give a few prayer requests that we would like to take before the lord and please remember brother erickson he is in west monroe louisiana preaching today and please remember uh brother nolan and sister flannery carpenter there in florida ministering at a youth event that is raising money that is raising money for missions and please remember remember them remember sister caseboat she was taken and admitted to the hospital for high blood pressure and let's just reach out and touch the lord for sister caseboat today let's also remember our good friend and brother carl salyards and he has been suffering he's been suffering so much with a heart condition he actually needs a heart transplant and uh we know the god who is able to do that and we know the god that is able to make way that human hands would do that and so mom and dad salyards we want you to know we lift up your son today in prayer first timothy 3 15 paul's talking to timothy and he says but if i carry long that thou mayest know how thou ought us to behave thyself in the house of god which is the church of the living god the pillar and the ground of truth the pillar and the ground of truth father i love you this morning i thank you god for your spirit that i feel here i thank you jesus for every person that has made their way to this place of worship today lord help me to feed your sheep today help me lord help me to instill in myself and my family and my church family that what this is all about is about us becoming a brighter light and a greater testimony for you for all that matters in this world is that we share and shine your spirit lord for the next few moments help me to drive away the darkness and help me to bring the light of glory into this place to the word i will give you praise and honor in jesus name i pray amen and amen i know you have your bibles but before your city would you give jesus christ a great hand of praise right now i read first timothy 3 and 15 as you're being seated i read it again paul is addressing a young pastor and he says but if i tarry long that thou mayest know how thou ought us to behave thyself in the house of god now we know that paul is referring to a a place how to behave thyself in the house of god which is the church of the living god what is the house of god is the church of the living god and then he simply puts it in an analogy that they would understand he says it is the pillar and the ground of truth now they were very familiar with what columns or pillars would do they were they were very familiar that these were things that were built on something and built to support something they understood that a pillar rested on something that could not be seen the foundation but that the pillar held up something that could be seen the structure of the building the bible tells us that the church has its identity its purpose that the church is the pillar and the ground of the truth it is the pillar and the ground of the truth everyone say the truth because it's very important the not a truth the truth it is the pillar and the ground it is the foundation the church is the foundation it is the pillar and the ground of supporting the truth and we understand in genesis chapter 28 verse 22 that this is nothing new and what paul the analogy is because it started with jacob in genesis 28 and verse 22 jacob said to god and this stone which i have set for a pillar shall be god's house and of all that thou shalt give me i will surely give the tenth unto thee so now long before paul was ever around long before the church was ever birthed there was the spiritual analogy that the church would support the truth there was a need for the truth to be in the world now we have for many decades lived in what has been termed as the information age can i get a witness we know we have some time been living in what's referred to as the information age meaning that we have unlimited resources on information of any topic at any time we're in the information age we have unlimited and i do mean unlimited resources of information on any topic at at any time in a long time and maybe this may be for our youth today some some wonder i've actually had i've actually been asked by one one of the youth we passed by an old dilapidated phone booth and they said what's that all right but in a time long ago if you wanted information on a subject you went to a place called a library remember that you checked out a book remember that written by a person referred to as an expert on the subject and you researched it until you got the information that's right would you please note with me the term expert because we're going to talk about truth information and expert now the word expert and information tom nichols wrote a book entitled the death of the expert in which he observes how this phenomenon wrongly construes the equal rights of democracy as also meaning equal talents in other words we we take our we take our declaration of independence all men are created equal right that's how it starts and we believe we hold these truths and we believe that all men are created equal well somehow in this uh this information age that we've got we have got now a generation that believes that we're not only created equal but we have equal talents which that's not true we have equal abilities which that's not true and we all have equal knowledge which god knows that's not true it's a world where one's one man's opinion about something is as valid as the next guy even if the first man only heard something on talk radio about the subject while the next guy has a phd in the subject because we're now living in a day when everybody's opinion is equal that's right everybody's opinion is equal he goes on in his book and he says as covet 19 vividly demonstrates experts are certainly not infallible thank you for the one left to our own inclinations chaos chaos reigns so we are living in a day of overload information and everybody's information is equal regardless if you've got a phd in the subject or if you're just a blogger we've all become experts in quarantine if you've got a twitter account you have rea you're now an expert in what a quarantine ought to look like lord help us this morning in that experts are not necessarily infallible experts are experts because they have knowledge they have certain they have certain knowledge i'm pastoring a culture today i'm pastoring a church and reaching for a culture today that has trust in no one's information but their own but their own and it doesn't stop at politics it doesn't stop at diseases it comes on into the church and we're all experts we're all experts on whatever subject we feel that we've read we need to visit judges the book of judges which is a total tank train wreck for for israel the book of judges is a total train wreck spiritually for israel they were on a spiritual merry-go-round a spiritual roller coaster they were serving god one day and in bondage to next but the reason being is a key verse that is reported that is recorded twice in the book of judges and it simply says and in that day there was no king and every man did that which was right they said let's let that simmer just for a moment we have all the information the church is the pillar and the ground not of an opinion the church is the pillar in the ground because for several weeks now i cannot get away with this i cannot get away from this subject god's house where dreams come true because somehow with a year or two of uncertain schedules and are we having church are we not having church somewhere we've allowed to slip away you may you may be able to perform your job from your home but you cannot successfully live from for god from your home well you you don't know how i see things it doesn't matter how i see things it doesn't matter how you see things all that matters is is what does the truth tell us the truth that's why the church is so valuable you say i don't really think i need any i don't think i really need anyone i simply say this we need each other i'm going to tell you why we need each other would you like to know why we need each other i thought you would never ask we need each other because we can't do everything on our own we need each other because we cannot do everything on our own authorities are not bad i know that there have been some authorities in our world that are not infallible humans are fallible humans can fail you but god's word is the only thing that is infallible many people have given up coming to a house of worship based on some human did them wrong as if you're shocked that how could somebody who claims to be a quote christian do me like this i'll tell you why they are fallible but the only thing that's not fallible is the infallible truth that's why we need to own a bible that's why we need to study a bible the bible has the answers for every area of your life it has the answers for your body it has the answers for your soul it has the answers for your spirit it is the bible it is the infallible word of god well i quit going to church because somebody did this or that i understand that but maybe you were going for the wrong reason the church is not a museum for the perfect it is a hospital for the sick please don't ever get in your mind that everything you see is perfect because just as sure as you do somebody will let you down but the church is the pillar and the ground helped me preach now of what the truth authorities are not bad we're seeing today horrific things going on with authorities take one one police officer and one is not at a number of not in a number of the number one but just a small percentage and let that one officer do something that is not in keeping with the whole and guess what we want to do as a society or some do away with all authorities do away with all authorities and we're seeing the whiplash we're seeing the whiplash cities cities who've ever thought who would have ever thought this church that we would have cities in our country that groups of rebellion and lawlessness could take over whole city blocks and we would be asked to stand back and let them just burn it down what's the thought there they're venting let them burn the blocks down they're venting all authorities are not bad guardrails are not there guardrails and gatekeepers are not there trying to restrict you guardrails are there to protect us authority can be abused but at its best it is good for us every writer needs a good editor oh i can write some good letters but i tell you what you have never got a letter from kenny ray carpenter but it didn't go through several people wouldn't dare send you every writer needs an editor would you not agree that children are better off with parents i don't know about you when i go to a restaurant that i'm unfamiliar with sister jeter and i don't know really what to eat guess what i do i asked the waiter or the waitress what's good here well why do you ask them because they know right i ain't going to ask anybody at the table with me and none of us met at the restaurant i want to know ma'am what's really good here what do and when i don't well what do what's ordered most of the time you see you're you're gathering some knowledge that you don't have we need to humble ourselves brothers and sisters know it all's we need to humble ourselves and understand you need the church because you do not have all you need to do life you don't have all you need to do life can i show you today what a healthy church would you like to see what a healthy church looks like what a real healthy church looks like maybe if i show you what a healthy church looks like then you will understand what you should be looking like first corinthians chapter 12 verse number 12. are you ready to go first corinthians chapter 12 verse number 12 for as the body is one and have many members and all the members of that one body being many are one body so also is christ for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body whether we be jews or gentiles whether we be bond or free and have all been made to drink into one spirit now let's understand something your nationality ends when you got baptized with the holy ghost and put into the body of christ the color of your skin ended when you got baptized in jesus name and filled with the holy ghost and you became a part of the body of christ whether you were raised in north america south america or no america when you embrace the gospel for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body if you are a millionaire and you got baptized into the body if you are serving time in prison and you got baptized into the body i got news for you the body doesn't have a rich rich section and a port section it doesn't have an educated section and an uneducated section and god knows it doesn't have a white section and a black section formed by man it's a good day to be in the church isn't it oh it's a good day it's a good day to be in the church why don't you turn to your neighbor and say it's a good day to be in the church it's a good day to be in the church for the body is not one member but many if the foot shall say because i am not the hand i am not of the body is it therefore not of the body and if the ear shall say because i am not the eye i am not of the body is it therefore not of the body if the whole body were an eye where were the hearing if the whole we're hearing were with the smelling but but now hath god but now hath god can i tell you stop telling god what you want to be stop telling god what you want to be stop telling god your future some people don't know the difference in praying to god and informing god don't inform him he is the he is the potter and we are the clay i promise you y'all know i really know what's best for my life sister know it all brother know it all you don't but i do know one that does and if you're willing to be baptized into the body and accept where you're put in the body you will function so good but now have god set the members every one of them in the body as it had pleased him and if they were all one member wherewith the body but now are they many members yet one body the eye cannot say unto the hand i have no need of thee nor the head to the feet i have no need of thee see that's where people are going two different directions name much more those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary and those members of the body which we think to be less honorable upon these we bestow more abundant honor and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness for our comely parts have no have no need but god hath tempered the body together having given more abundant honor to that part which lacketh that there be no system in the body but that the members have the same oh come on now that the members have the what what the members have what now one for another you cannot be in a healthy relationship with your body if you don't care about the other members of the body and whether one member suffer oh members suffer with it boy ever since a couple weeks ago when the mcdonald's sent word we got word that their 19 year old grandson had been killed i i can't help it i've got a pit i got it just a it's almost like i got an upset stomach i call brother mcdonald yesterday and talked with him i've got this kind of like an upset stump you know why because when one member suffers we all suffer or one member's honor we all or one member be honored all the members rejoice with it now are ye the body of christ and members in particular you have an assignment every person here today every person here today has an assignment you are important you have a place you're not all the body but you are part of the body you are part of the body now hath god set some in the church first apostles secondarily prophets thirdly teachers after that miracles then gifts of healings helps governments and diversities of tongues listen to the questions are all apostles talking about the body are all apostles and the answer to that is no we are not all apostles there's a group right now it's kind of it kind of tickles me some folks cannot be content with what god has they have to look for something just above what god has so there's a group right now a religious group and they not only recognize apostles in their fellowship but they now have i i heard them talk yeah they they said this brother is a super apostle and i thought to myself now where is that in the bible okay just be an apostle can you you got to be a super yes superman i don't know and are all apostles let me answer it for you no all are not not all of us are apostles are all prophets again the answer is no are all teachers no are all workers of miracles no have all the gifts of healing no now now be careful don't answer this too quickly do all speak with tongues and the answer to that is no oh wait no all of us do not have the gift of tongues and the interpretation no no not all of us have that gift so the answer to that is no all of us don't have the gift of tongues nor do we interpret but covet earnestly the best gifts and yet i show you a more excellent way how many knows that's the last verse in chapter 12 and what is the more excellent way what is the more excellent way love love is that more excellent way now i hope i've proven today that the church what it looks like healthy a healthy body a healthy body has the right temperature a healthy body is not too cold or too hot a healthy body is balanced what a healthy body what a healthy body looks like a healthy body is when the head is in control of the rest of the members and how many knows i'm talking about the great head of our church is jesus christ oh we could be listen no better hands than we could be in today than the nail scarred hands of jesus christ we are he is the head he is the head of this church paul says to the corinthians this is how that the church should function now i'd like to draw your attention because paul elaborates more on it in chapter 4 of the book of ephesians the book of ephesians chapter number four someone say praise the lord ephesians chapter four verse number one i therefore the prayer i therefore the prisoner of the lord beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you're called with all loneliness lowliness and meekness with longsuffering forbearing one another in love endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace endeavoring endeavoring it's going to take work we're flawed people we're flawed people you hear me we are not infallible people we have flesh we are tempted i know to the super ultra spiritual you don't believe so but we are tempted you're already deceived but we're tempted we're flesh we don't have it all and when it comes to my salvation i'm not going to a blogger when he comes and no amen is here but when it comes to losing weight i don't care if there is a housewife in los angeles that ate a certain cucumber and lost a bunch of weight i'm going to get somebody that's a real person that understands it oh y'all see where i'm going i'm going somewhere and getting these pills and i'm going somewhere and getting these uh uh herbs and all this and you pull up at a wore out 7-eleven i can't go there i got to keep on going please understand that you don't have everything you need you do not have everything you need endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace verse four look at this for there is one body and one spirit even as you are called in one hope of your calling one lord one faith one baptism one god father of all who is above all through all and in you all but unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of christ every one of us have a measure every one of us have a measure wherefore he saith when he ascended up on high now now he goes to what we've been given and now he tells us how we got it wherefore he saith when he ascended up on high and led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men he gave gifts unto men now that he ascended what is it but that he also descended first in the lower parts this is talking about our salvation and what jesus did to purchase our salvation he descended he that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens that he might feel all things and he gave some look at this and he gave some because just like people have turned our police force off because the misjudgment of one there have been people that have turned the ministry off because of the misjustice of one preachers are fallible don't put your faith in a preacher put your faith in the word of god can i tell you i want to i want to use a little something i want to use a little something that i heard the other day but here's what you ought to tune your ear to you shouldn't tune your ear too well he doesn't sound pentecostal well he's reading a little bit he doesn't sound pentecostal you get among the baptists and you can tell a baptist preacher i'm not i'm not thrown off you can tell a baptist preacher they've got a certain a certain way that they they followed billy graham and uh they they they they've got that about i'm not knocking that you can find a catholic priest and they've all kind of got the same hum that goes along but can i tell you this today don't you look for a preacher to sound like a pentecostal preacher but look for the preacher to sound like the word of god that's what he ought to sound like he ought to sound like the bible and you're not going to know if he sounds like the bible if you're not reading the bible it's too important to leave to chance don't let a blogger tell you don't let somebody you've never seen tell you you need to study it for yourself oh my my mama you're a preacher needs to sound like the word and he gave some look at verse 11 and he gave some apostles some prophets some evangelists some pastors and some teachers who gave them who gave these ministries here talk to me talk back to me now who gave them all right why did he give them for the perfecting of the saints that we're there for perfecting means maturing just because you got born again that was your birth certificate that was you're not that wasn't your graduation diploma when you got the holy ghost and got baptized that's not your certificate you've arrived that's your birth certificate that you're in the world but now god gives us the ministry why to perfect you to mature you for what purpose for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry oh god has a ministry maryville is a city that needs to be reached and we are the ones god has chosen to reach it hold let me say that again there ought to have been there would have been there have been a thunderous clap don't give it now it'd be too late it's like getting your wife a gift after a birthday don't don't do it now all right i didn't say i did that i said it's like there should have been a thunderous crowd a clap unless we have been led to believe that church is about us did they sing my song this morning i don't like that new music i don't like how long service goes i don't i don't i don't i don't i don't i don't i don't you know what we have missed out on is how much did jesus get praised this morning did he get high and lifted up god knows the world crucified him he don't need to come to church and get crucified again did we lift up that lovely name i think i heard somebody sing sing something about release the name i think i heard somebody see something about release the sound what's important today is not that your favorite song got sung or your favorite message got preached but what's important today is did jesus christ become elevated in this place for the work of the ministry everything about your life should be to sharpen you to make you a brighter witness for god everything about our church ought to work we should be working to become a brighter witness a brighter witness for god why are we given the why are we given the ministry for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of christ till we all come in the unity of the faith and to the knowledge of the son of god into a perfect man and to the measure of the stature of the fullness of christ that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the slight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lay wait to deceive but speaking the truth in love may grow up and may grow up into him in all things oh if i could just say this grow up grow up if you're still sucking the bottle and you've been in the church 10 years grow up i don't mind putting a baby bottle in a mouth but i really don't like it when i get the whiskers to irritate my fingers grow up just grow up don't ever look around here for a perfect church no perfect church because there's fallible people here but speaking the truth in love may grow up into him and what what's those i guess all things mean all things right it'd be amazing how that if we would grow up how god would heal marriages i just think if we could grow up in god that god may heal us of being raised a spooled rotten brat i think if we could just get i think we could just wait you know what i missed out on my life you don't know what i i was raised this way and i'm always going to have these feelings and i'm i was this happened to me and this this and that happened to me and i'm always going to no you're not always you're only going to always do it if you choose to stay right where you're at but god is able to take a person that all their life was jealous over what somebody else had and if they will grow up in jesus christ that same person can look over and see the same other individual prospering and say i'm sure glad my brother's prospering i'm sure glad my sister's proud look look at their kids i'm sure glad their kids are doing this and their kids are you with me this morning church but speaking the truth in love may grow up into him in all things which is the head even christ from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted look at this fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplyeth according to the effectual working in the measure of every part making increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love could we just for a moment could we just love god as a church today not asking for a healing i'm not asking for my marriage to be healed i'm just going to take one moment and exalt the lord jesus christ the head of our church the name of jesus should start flowing from every lip from every every lip in this place today oh jesus i love you oh head of a church oh head of this church oh the one that shed his blood for us today oh mighty god oh mighty god mighty god mighty god in her lifetime achievement award acceptance her acceptance speech at the 2018 golden globes oprah winfrey said these words she said what i know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we have notice the emphasis your truth your truth because nobody's interested in true facts anymore kelly conway was being interviewed after president trump's inauguration and there was some debate about the number of people that were there and the reporter said to kelly conway said but here the the facts show of which she responded well todd i'm here to present some alternative facts no no facts or facts there's no alternative facts but you see we are living in a day to day that we only want facts if it goes along with the narrative of our life and if a fact comes to us and this is just true this is true we've got we've got a generation that is saying depend on science but yet they say that a man can choose his gender you you can't make this stuff up i'm here to tell you you cannot make this stuff up but there was a study done from college students to where a six foot seven inch white male declared that he was really a five foot two inch chinese woman i'm not i'm not that i'm not done with the story of which the college students could not make up their mind either you can't make this up it's happening out there but it's a good day well i almost want to rename this sermon it's a good day to be in the church it's a good day you're not perfect but it's a good day to be in the church marriage is a little rocky but it's a good day to be in the church got some kids going astray but it's a good day to be it is a good day i'm raising my children now it's a good day to be in the church we're raising our grandbabies now honey and it's a good day to be in the church ah let me bring this to an end musicians would you come let me bring this to an end your truth your truth let me bring it to an end genesis chapter 2 and verse 16 and 17 and the lord god commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of yet for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die how many knows that is the truth and he knows that's the truth to the truth but in genesis chapter 3 verse number 2 and the woman said unto the serpent we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden bear the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden god hath said you shall not eat of it neither shall you touch it lest you die and the serpent said unto the woman you shall not surely die for god doesn't know in the day that you eat thereof then your eyes shall be open and you shall be as gods can i tell you in the garden was truth and a lie truth and a lie in the garden was truth and a lie and eve was left to determine which she would believe i think the same scenario is here this morning in our world today there's a lot of information but it can be broken down into two categories the truth and a lie the truth and a lie you're either going to believe are you going to be believe a lie well i don't want to believe a lie help me brother carpenter well i i've got news for you the only way that you can get help and not believing a lie is through the wisdom of the church a lot of people have knowledge but they have no wisdom wisdom is being able to know what is truth and what is a lie god said if you eat of the tree you'll die satan came and said no that's not truth that is a lie god knows that the day that you eat of it your eyes are going to be open here it is it's just so plain today here you are youth group you're faced with a red-faced preacher beating a book telling you dedicate your life to this mold your body whatever the bible says about your body do it whatever the bible says about your soul love it whatever the bible says about your spirit submit to it but you will soon be dismissed to go out into a world of which is telling you they're not telling you god doesn't exist the devil he wore out his atheist argument years ago didn't work but the enemy will tell you well that's that's good for them that's good for them that's that's good for her and see the problem with this is the devil knows the time you wake up it's too late he's got you hooked then he goes to work you ever notice that the devil will tempt you to do things with with the temptation nobody will find out and then once you do it then he tells you everybody knows just give me just another moment i i think we're going to have a god i think we're going to have a god moment here in just just a few minutes paul writing in first corinthians chapter two verse number six he said this to the corinthians he said how be it we speak wisdom among them that are perfect yet not the wisdom of this world the wisdom of this world nor the princes of this world that come to naught but we speak the wisdom of god in a mystery even the hidden wisdom which god ordained before the world unto our glory these two verses tell you exactly what i've said two wisdoms wisdom of god wisdom of the world wisdom of the world said to you today when brother hammond was talking about tithing the wisdom of the world says i can't afford that the wisdom of the world gave a plethora of reasons not to do that but the wisdom of god says bring them all and i'll open up the windows of heaven pour you out a blessing you know what adam was really saying and eve was really saying god you've given me a measurement can you think of this god you've given me a 12 inch ruler 12 inches as f as as of today as of today 12 inches still make a foot i know that a lot of public schools that they you know they're they're you know well two plus two doesn't equal four it equals whatever you think it equals please never hire them for your accountant but god gave adam and eve a 12-inch rule and said hey always measure things by this measure life through this don't eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil here it is measure life but satan came along and he said no a foot is really this 18-inch rule here you can eat of this because you're going to be open there's going to be more for you so in essence what adam and eve did when they listened and they yielded they yielded that they would now become their own measurement of life their own measurement so i get to measure my own life now if i'm not happy i get to do whatever makes me happy because after all the measurement the measurement's different that's why we're in a world that's upside down and i'm i'm not meaning this judgmental i'm not meaning this try to make you laugh trying to make fun of them but we're living in sick times and it's sick because every man is doing that which is right in his own eyes i have a little different slant on this today just a little different slant this morning as i was studying about judas iscariot he kissed the lord jesus jesus said that i am the way the truth he kissed him i went back in my bible and studied for a few moments this morning where judas was sitting at the table and the lord said one of you will betray me today and judah simply said lord is it me is it me i read that several times and i looked at it because i've always i've always thought to myself i've always thought to myself yes judas was deviant but really in dealing with people that have allowed satan to plant thoughts in their mind they really think they're making the right decision you can preach to them to your blue in the face you can you can line examples of look sister look brother look at this one that did this look at their end it doesn't matter because somehow they're deceived and they think they're doing the right thing judas thought he was doing the right thing but you know what woke him up when he saw that they had condemned jesus christ to death when he looked and he saw that i don't know what he was thinking i don't know if he was thinking jesus would vanish through the crowd i don't know if he was just thinking that that that jesus would disappear but when he literally saw them condemn jesus to death the bible says it repented judas and he took the 30 pieces of silver back and he throwed it at their feet trying to reverse what he had done but there was no reversal you see today some of you are on the verge of making the wrong decision decisions that there's no reversal to don't do it don't do it authorities are good the church is not fallible but the truth that we preach is infallible here's where we get our wisdom here's we we get our encouragement here's where we can raise our families here's where we can reach our city that god wants us to reach here judas looks and he sees that jesus he's condemned and a light comes on what have i done what have i done what have i done what in the world have i done he takes the 30 pieces of silver back and he says please take this back take this back i'm sorry for what i've done i'm sorry for i i've been trying to take it back and they said no we won't take it back we won't take it back what's been done has been done jesus will be crucified and he takes that bag of silver and he throws it at their feet they pick up the 30 pieces of silver judas listen to the wrong wisdom they pick up the 30 pieces of silver and buy a graveyard they buy a graveyard with the 30 pieces of silver judas now without hope without hope judas now empty his empties ever been judas now realizes what a fool he has been judas realizes now he's done something that cannot be reversed judas sees a tree and he in his mind and i believe the demons were just feeding his mind in his mind he began to say things like i would be better off dead i would be better off dead and judas takes a rope hangs himself on a tree please don't lose sight of that would you say that with me on a tree on a tree i believe they're symbolic here on a tree judas hangs himself a tree of hopelessness with the 30 pieces of silver that he got he bought a graveyard where you bury the dead he represents the wisdom of this world i believe satan told judas every reason why he ought to i believe that i believe i can't prove it by scripture but i believe it by my heart i believe that satan picked out any kind of flaw in jesus christ i believe that satan picked out anything if it was he talked to he talked to the rich more than he talked to the poor whatever i believe that satan tried to find every flaw that he could to highlight it to judas because at the end it'll be the flaws that i highlight that'll cause you to do the irreversible but over yonder on another tree hung the wisdom of god wisdom of the world buys a graveyard but over on yonder calvary hangs another man on a tree he is the personification of truth he is the wisdom of god hidden in a mystery he hangs on another tree he gives his life they put him in a tomb but three days later the tomb would be empty which are you going to listen to today the wisdom of this world that buys you nothing but a graveyard or the wisdom of god that god buys you an empty tomb that the worst thing that can happen to you that god is able to turn it around and set it for your good which will you choose today would you stand with me before you today while every head is bowed and every eyes closed before you today is two trees one tree tells you that in just a few moments they'll gather in the altar they'll sing a little bit and i'll be gone by noon on one tree tells you that you're all right without this you really don't need this jesus you really don't need this born-again experience you really don't need it you're your self-made man you got a lot of money in the bank you got a lot of things going but the truth of the matter is you're here today because you're empty and you know you're empty heads bowed please i need the church to help me pray this morning we need to be a voice in between the two trees that direct them to jesus christ we need to be the voice in between the two trees and say holy ghost touch them right now oh touch them right now there's a tree of wisdom of this world that tells you it's emotions don't let the preacher get your emotions it's all emotions no it's not it's the holy ghost it's the true god it won't let you die lost without another chance to come home another chance to bring your brokenness the wisdom of the world says you've done too much you've went too far but the wisdom of god says come unto me all ye that labor and heavy laden and i will give you rest would you come the altar is open right now would you listen to the voice of the spirit come on church lift up your voice in prayer create a climate that that the people can come out of their pews right now the altars open the altar is open if you need to tell somebody beside you would you please step out of the way i need to get to the altar i need to make a decision there's two trees and i i don't want the tree of the knowledge of this world would you today can be the first day of the rest of your life today can be the first day of getting a burden off your shoulders he's as close as the mention of his name would you please come as a minister of one of the young men's wives come to church with him today and she's going to get baptized here in just a few moments and this is the church this is the church amen and as they're preparing a uh trendsetters choir practice at 5 15 tonight prayer at 5 30. let's just let's fellowship as the church right now they'll let us know when it's time to to be to baptize and if you if you need to be
