the book of matthew chapter 16 verse number 13 through 18. i love the house of god i love everything we do when we come to the house of god i love our worship our prayer i love the preaching of the word and i love seeing people respond to the word and we would be given a chance tonight an opportunity to respond to the word i'm so glad that i have been filled with the greatest gift in all the world the gift of the holy ghost so thankful tonight that someone told me to be baptized in his name and i'm glad to be baptized in the name of the lord jesus christ i'm glad for the truth tonight glad for the truth matthew chapter 16 and verse 13. when jesus came into the coast of caesarea philippi he asked his disciples saying whom do men say that i the son of man am and they say some say that thou art john the baptist some elias and others jeremiah or one of the prophets he saith unto them but whom say ye that i am simon peter answered and said thou art the christ the son of the living god jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou simon barjona for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee hath not revealed everybody say revealed hath not revealed it unto thee but my father which is in heaven and i say also unto thee that thou art peter and upon this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it for just a few moments tonight i want to speak on this subject hungry or hearsay hungry or hearsay father i love you tonight thank you for truth god thank you for the truth of your word god lord i thank you for the unadulterated word of god the pure word of god the rightly divided word of god the inspired word god i pray tonight for the next few moments that you would help me to minister to this congregation on the truth i'll give you praise in jesus name amen give him a hand to praise before you're seated hungry hungry or hearsay it's captivated all of our attention for the last several weeks the horrific tragedy in florida with the collapse of the condominium as of today 86 86 are confirmed dead and 43 are still unaccounted for no doubt it has already started blame is being placed inspectors things that should have been done movement that they were aware of et cetera et cetera but yet none of that and all of the multi-million dollar lawsuits that will be in the years to come none of that will ever bring one person back none of it will i began to think when i pondered and prayed over tonight's message what the lord would have me to say and it seems like that the holy ghost led me to this passage of scripture where jesus asks a question it is a very important question because jesus plainly said in the gospel unless you believe that i am he you will die in your sins now there's one thing you don't want to die in you don't want to die in your sins you do not want to die in your sins you want to die in the faith but you don't want to die in your in your sins so jesus asked a question he said i want to know whom do men say who do men say that i the son of man am who do men say and they begin the long list because men's opinions are many some say you're john the baptist some some say some say you're elias some some say you're others some say you're jeremiah some just say you're one of the prophets there's just a lot of hearsay going on there's just a lot of hearsay some say this and some say that and one group of men say you're this and the other group of men say to jeremiah and the other groups say you're john the baptist and there's just jesus a lot of hearsay that's going around but then he asks them a second question now you please will notice that at the end of the first question he responded with nothing because there's nothing to respond to when it's hearsay hearsay does it move god he then asks the second question but who do you say that i am who do you say that i am you see tonight out in the world there's a lot of hearsay about who jesus is but it doesn't matter what the world says or who he is what matters is what inside this building who do we say he is who do you say that i the son of man am he asked the whole group of apostles but it was the one simon peter that was the first to answer simon said to him in verse 16 that thou art the christ not might not maybe not we think it could be it was said in a straight war straightway you are the christ the son flesh of the living god you're not john the baptist you're not jeremiah you're not elijah you're not one of the old testament prophets you are the messiah you are the promised one you are the seed that crushes the head of the serpent you are the star that came out over jacob you are the fulfillment you are isaiah's wonderful counselor mighty god prince of peace everlasting father you are the fulfillment of scripture you are the christ the son flesh of the living god when he finished saying this this got a response hearsay got no response no response to hearsay but when a man stated that you are the christ the son of the living god he got a response blessed are you simon barjona for flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you this is something that has to be revealed this is something that you have to have a revelation you have to have your eyes open it has to be revealed to you he said flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto you unto thee but my father which is in heaven now i want to stop there for a moment and i want to show you that a revelation does not come by hearsay you will never get a revelation trying to figure out all these denominations you only get a revelation when you go to truth you only get a revelation when you're hungry for truth he said flesh and blood hath not revealed this you this is not the product flesh and blood would be man teaching you it would be a part of the hearsay crowd jesus said peter flesh and blood no one taught you this a teacher a man flesh and blood human reasoning did not reveal this to you but my father which is in heaven hath revealed this to you now there's something about a revelation that must go before a revelation hunger must go before revelation there is no revelation where there is no hunger tradition that leads men astray will always rule the day until somebody gets hungry to study truth because anytime hunger begins to boil in the bosom of a man or a woman it moves the heart of god it would be in matthew chapter 11 verse number 25 it would be matthew chapter 11 verse number 25 listen to the words of jesus at that time jesus answered and said i thank thee o father lord of heaven and earth because thou hast hid these things from the wise and the prudent and hath revealed them unto dave's when a man believes he's wise when a man believes that he needs no revelation he's smart enough he's educated enough he studied enough god will purposely hide the truth he will purposely cause them not to be able to see it i witnessed at a denominal pastor here in the town he and i went out to lunch and uh he had actually told me something very comical his wife had came in on a saturday night and caught him watching uh our program and she told him she said i always know on sunday when you've been listening to that church said you just preached different when you listened to that church said oh you're always you're always being much more bold and you're always and and so we met for we met for lunch and i began to break some scriptures down about baptism and uh he had went to bible uh he had went to bible cemetery i mean seminary he had went to all of these he had went to all of these places i'm sorry he went to all of these places and and and he had been taught in a classroom uh that that only the jews on the day of pentecost only they got baptized in jesus name and they only got baptized in jesus name as a form of punishment for crucifying him it was actually something that jesus did to them to shame them he made them be baptized in his name and and i said well let me er i said let's go over here to acts chapter eight and i showed him in acts chapter eight and and then he said well he said you know uh when when john's baptism was good for everybody you didn't if john had a good baptism and and then i took him over to acts 19 and i introduced him to john the baptist disciples and paul came among john the baptist disciples in acts chapter 19 and he said have you received the holy ghost since you believed john the baptist disciples and they said we've not even heard whether there be any holy ghost what are you talking about and he said and then how are you baptized and they said well we were baptized into john saying that we were to believe upon the one which was to come which was uh which was the christ and when they heard this they were re-baptized and john or paul re-baptized john's disciples that he re-baptized him in the name of the lord jesus and they came up out of the water and all 12 of them received the gift of the holy ghost and spoke with other tongues and i read that man sitting there sitting there at cracker barrel that day sitting there at cracker barrel i got my bible out and i read him acts chapter 19 and i read him about that and that man slid back from the table and he told me how many years he had been in the church he said every year for the last 20 some odd years i read my bible through every year and i have never seen that in the word of god that's because if you're wanting hearsay he hides it from you but if you want the truth he will just reveal it to you oh hallelujah hallelujah oh hallelujah hallelujah i'm starting to feel the holy ghost move here tonight because i just think there's somebody here that's ready to tell tradition goodbye tonight because i want some truth to come into my life amen matthew chapter 11 verse 25 and at that time jesus answered and said i thank the o father o lord of heaven and earth because thou has hid these things from the wise and the prudent and hath revealed them unto babes how did peter know that he was the christ the son of the living god of revelation and jesus says i hide revelation from the proud and the prudent i hide revelation from the wise the self-proclaimed wise and the prudent and i reveal things to babes guess what all babies have in common they cry when they're hungry and they hungry all the time am i telling the truth not young mamas they cry when they're hungry and they're hungry about all the time a baby in certain months does two things well three and i won't talk about the third thing sleep and eat you know why they're growing and he said i hide revelation from the prudent the wise i hide it from those men the hearsay people but give me somebody that's hungry and i'll begin to show them things in scripture i'll begin to reveal things now now stay with me because this revealing does have to do with the identity of jesus christ now please remember to help me now help me now help me now jesus said peter flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you but who my father which is in heaven he revealed it so the father revealed the son but wait a minute now verse 26 even so matthew 11 26 even so father for it seemed good in thy sight all things are delivered unto me of my father and no man knoweth the son but the father neither knoweth any man the father save the son and he to whom the son will reveal him now watch this when you begin to talk to god god's going to reveal who jesus christ is and when you begin to talk to jesus christ jesus christ is going to reveal who god is when you reach out to god god will reveal the identity of jesus and when you reach out to jesus jesus will reveal the identity of the father but i'm not talking about two tonight because in john chapter 14 jesus told his disciples he said you have seen the father and they say to him show us the father and we would be satisfied and he said have i been so long time with you philip that you don't know me he that has seen me has seen the father how sayest thou then show us the father the works that i do i do not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me he doeth the words i've just come tonight to tell somebody i don't want to believe hearsay about jesus christ i want to hear truth about jesus christ i'm hungry for truth about him i don't want tradition so okay brother carpenter okay brother carpenter i i understand brother carpenter i i i understand but what was the little stop there that you did about the condo collapse what was the little i understand what you're saying but wasn't the little condo collapsing out of place for your sermon tonight no absolutely not because jesus goes on in verse number 18 of matthew 16 and says thou art peter and upon this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against this church that's why tonight you ought to thank your god you're in the church you are the safest place to be on earth tonight is in the church of jesus christ i'm not talking about 1331 william blunt drive locale i'm talking about the spiritual baptized body of jesus christ that's in north america that's in south america that's in every continent on planet earth i'm glad to be it's the safest place to be right now is the church why don't you give him some praise right now i'm glad to be in the church i'm glad to be in the church i'm glad it's the safest place hell can't penetrate it hell can't penetrate the church of jesus christ hell can try to come against it but hell cannot defeat the church of jesus christ caesar tried to stop it hitler tried to stop it liberals try to stop it but glory glory hallelujah his truth is marching on oh i'm glad to truth tonight i value truth i love truth tonight oh i value truth come on help me tonight hearsay are hungry oh there are so many good people here tonight there's so many good people here tonight and there's so many good people sincere people there's so many sincere people here tonight they're sincere people that watch this program but you're sincerely wrong the greatest tragedy of all is misinformation he's not john the baptist he's not elijah he's not one of the prophets he is jesus christ the son of the living god john had a mama jeremiah had a mama elijah had a mother but not jesus christ not in the way that you think because jesus christ was conceived the way that no human that has ever lived or that is now living or that will ever live was conceived male and female caused conception but not the lord jesus christ the angel said unto her mary you're going to have in your womb the son of the highest and mary says how can this be seeing that i know not a man and the angel said i'm going to tell you how it's going to happen the holy ghost is going to overshadow you the same spirit that overshadowed the earth that was without form and void and created all of creation that same spirit hovered over that virgin girl and when that spirit lifted off of her she was just as pregnant as any woman had ever been pregnant with one exception she was a virgin no wonder the old testament wanted to tell us that a virgin shall conceive and be with child and thou shalt call his i'm not talking about hearsay tonight i'm talking about truth tonight isaiah 7 14 a virgin shall conceive and thou shalt call his name emmanuel which being interpreted is god with us that's true tonight he is god with us but tradition comes along tradition comes along and tradition of hearsay comes along john how many agrees with me tonight jesus was not john the baptist jesus was not elijah jesus was not jeremiah and jesus was not one of the prophets jesus was the christ the son of the living god but somewhere a few hundred years later after god became flesh man begin to listen to hearsay it's kind of simple how they got it they took a book written about god and they began to divide god up it would be as it would be is foolish to take a book written about kenny carpenter and when you read that book about kenny carpenter you read about a son was born to ruby and john virgil carpenter a son was born and later on a few years later he got married and he was a husband and a few years after that they had children and he became a father and a few years after that he became a general superintendent of an organization but you get that one book written about one man and you make a person of the son and a person of the father and a person of the pastor and a person of the general superintendent and you say these are all three co-equal co-eternal it's a mystery we can't explain it because the word says nothing about first person of the trinity second person of the trinity third person of the trinity nowhere that is here say you hear me that is hearsay i know you're sincere and i know this might rub you the wrong way but for the love of god you've got to be in a building that cannot crumble you've got to be in a building that hell cannot crumble you've got to be in a building that hell can't shake religion is going to come crumbling down religion does not have a good foundation that condo in florida did not have a good foundation you need to be in the church of the living god where the gates of hell cannot prevail oh you want to love truth tonight if god is giving you truth you ought to love me tonight oh he called about it are you hungry or do you won't hear saying give me the word give me the word give me the word give me the word i don't care if it doesn't suit my tradition give me the word give me the word i wish somebody would shout give me the word give me the word give me the word give me the word give me the word give me the word when you take this you may be seated when you take this to the doctrine of the trinity the doctrine of the trinity soon begins to fold and phone the doctrine of the trinity begins to collapse i'll show you a couple ways it collapses i'll show you a couple of collapses taking their own definition the first person is god the father the second person is god the son the third person is god the holy spirit all right we're all assuming that the first person god the father would be the father of god the son if we're gonna hold that if we're gonna hold your line of reasoning but when mary said how will this be seeing i know not a man the angel and i guess he was telling the truth oh he was telling the truth he didn't say the first person shall overshadow you he said the holy ghost shall overshadow you now in your definition if the holy ghost is the third person of the trinity then the third person of the trinity would be the father of the second person of the trinity and i've heard all kinds of ways to try to explain how that happened the second thing is let us make man let us make man genesis 1 26 let us make man so right there right there is a trinity at work let us make man but they fail to read genesis 1 27 would you give me that if you could just throw it on the screen i know i didn't put in my notes tonight because i have come to preach truth not hearsay they will stop and they will say genesis 1 genesis 1 26 let us make man that is the trinity there making man all right that's the trinity there look at verse 27 so god created man in h-i-s not there hiss in his own image in the image of god created he now we he him male and female created but now that's not enough man was made in the image and the likeness of god we all agree with that so if god is three separate persons when god made adam how many atoms was there i mean if if god is three separate persons then when adam was created there ought to have been three atoms there on the floor and then when god wanted a wife he had to take three ribs and not one but the truth of the matter is i'm just telling you this to see the house of cards that that hearsay doctrine folds under you say why are you so much against it because it derails the whole salvation process you see if we don't understand the identity of jesus christ we don't understand the power of his name and if we don't understand the power of his name we're not baptized correctly and you do know the promise of the holy ghost is given to those that are baptized in jesus name so if i derail that i derail the name and if i do rail the name i derail the forgiveness of sins and if i derail the forgiveness of sins i derail the power of the holy ghost and if i derail the power of the holy ghost i derail the power of an overcoming life and then i've got to start making all these doctrines about why we're not delivered from our sin but i'm here to tell you god's message will deliver you god's message will set you free god's message will turn you around god's message will make you when you when isaiah was baptized this morning every sin that isaiah had ever committed was washed away come on do you won't hear say or do you want the true deuteronomy 6 4. hero israel the lord our god is three bible cemetery seminaries have got wise to this they now have classes in these seminaries you go to a class called progressive revelation it's called progressive revelation that is the that is the reasoning behind why the first century church did not recognize a trinity they know the book of acts did not recognize a trinity they know the writers of the gospels did not recognize a trinity they know paul did not recognize a trinity they know all through the bible there's not a trend so they have to have a class called progressive revelation in other words these men of the third and fourth century that that that had never met jesus christ that had never met anyone that had met jesus christ they begin and brother stephen gill is going to show you how history but my bible tells me tonight is anybody here wanting hungry for truth because my bible tells me and doing iran and i'm done i'm done musicians would you come my bible tells me in deuteronomy 6 and 4 hero israel the lord our god is one lord my bible tells me in malachi chapter 2 verse number 10 have not all we one father hath not one god created us my bible tells me in isaiah chapter 44 verse number 6 thus saith the lord the king of israel and his redeemer the lord of hosts i am the first and i am the last and besides me there is no god my bible tells me in isaiah 46 verse number 9 remember the former things of old for i am god and there is none else i am god and there is none like me my bible tells me in isaiah chapter 44 verse number 24 thus saith the lord thy redeemer and he that formed thee from the womb i am the lord that maketh all things that stretcheth forth the heavens alone that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself my bible tells me my bible tells me in matthew chapter 1 verse number 23 behold a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name emmanuel being interpreted is god with us my bible tells me in john chapter 20 and verse number 27 then saith he to thomas reach here with thy finger and behold my hands reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side be not faced faithless but believing and thomas answered and said unto him my blessed second person of the trinity no he didn't he said my lord and my god i want to know is anybody hungry tonight or do you just want some more hearsay my bible tells me in colossians chapter two and verse number eight beware lest any man spoil you that means take away from you beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of men hearsay after the rudiments of the world and not after christ look at verse number nine and if you want to read it read it with me for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the godhead bodily hearsay hearsay says that jesus christ is the second person in the trinity but truth says that all the fullness of the godhead dwells in him my bible says in first timothy chapter 3 verse number 15. my bible says in first timothy 3 15 but if i tarry long that thou mayest know how thou ought us to behave thyself in the house of god which is the church of the living god the pillar and ground of truth and without controversy great is the mystery of godliness god was manifest in the flesh justified in the spirit seal of angels preached unto the gentiles believed on in the world and received up into glory god was and just in case that's not been enough should i take you to the testimony of john the revelator who went to heaven if there's three three thrones three john would have told us and i'd shut my mouth and i'd preach it but john in revelation my bible says in revelation 22 verse 1 he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne throne throne one throne of god and the lamb it is one throne but it is the throne of god and the lamb we gotta look into this one throne god and the lamb god and the lamb in the midst verse two in the midst of the street of yet on either side of the river was there the tree of life which bear twelve manner of fruits yielded her fruit every month the leaves of the tree were for the healings of the nations and there shall be no more curse but the throne the throne the throne of god and of the lamb shall be in it and his servants his he is who god and the lamb because god and the lamb is god robed in flesh you can't kill god how can you kill a spirit god didn't die at calvary you believe the trinity you've got to believe that one-third god died for three and a half days for three days but that's nonsense tonight god can't die you can't kill a spirit so god took on a body that could be put to death that's whoa that's why it's a throne of god and the lamb yes yes blessed one god blessed what god blessed one god and there shall be no more curse but the throne of god and the lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve him god and the lamb are a him you know i love tonight here's this little cleveland church and they're in the altar tonight because that's what you build a church on when the church values this is what we believe oh this is what we believe this is what we believe this is what we believe i'm not done i'm not done verse 4 and they shall see his face and his name shall be in five more minutes matthew chapter 28 verse number 19. jesus said yo you therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost please they misquote this it is not name of the father name of the son and name of the holy ghost that is hearsay misinformation it is name of the father of the son and of the holy ghost there's one name that covers the father and there's one name that covers the son and there's one name that jesus jesus that's why we baptize in jesus name that's why we're baptized you're sincere you're sincere you're sincere why don't you read my lips i want you to understand those of you that are here and those who watching tonight my good sincere uh people here in blind county that watch you're sincere but there was nobody in the bible ever baptized repeating the words father son and holy ghost no one no one no one no one was ever baptized no one was ever baptized that way because they knew exactly they knew exactly what the name was they knew that god had given them the plan of the ages the father of creation the son of redemption and the holy ghost of regeneration they knew that they had been given the gospel and the gospel was the plan of the ages the mystery that had been hid but now was revealed god had given them the plan and he said i want you to go and i want you to baptize him in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost nowhere in your bible did peter paul or any other apostle ever baptized repeating the word father son and holy ghost nowhere in the bible were they baptized to join a church nowhere in the bible were they baptized to show they were following christ the purpose of baptism was for the remission of your sins that you had repented of that's the reason are you hungry or do you want hearsay are you angry or do you want to hear let me tell you something tonight oh my gosh let me tell you something if you're here in this building and you're not being baptized in jesus name we are ready for you right now we don't have baptism sunday we don't wait till we get a bunch of people on a list there is warm water waiting on you there is towels there's garments there's everything that you need all we need for you to do tonight is to obey what your heart is thumping and to step out in your pew and say i want to be baptized tonight tonight is there anybody come right now you want to be baptized tonight you want to be baptized now just coming just walk out of the field walk out come on come on right now this is how this ought to happen this is how this ought to happen you ought to be hungry for truth you ought to be sick of hearsay you ought to be sick that you were sold a bill of goods you ought to be sick that you've been living in a condominium with a faulty foundation you want to thank god somebody came and said it's time to get out come on you want to be baptized tonight tonight some of you watching online you live close enough get in your car right now come on down to the church we'll baptize you tonight in jesus name come on let's gather in the altar let's gather in god's going to work god's going to work tonight oh hungry for him right now father god i pray that you would fill him with the holy ghost when he comes up out of the water lord refill him god god your word will bring a change you've come to touch us tonight god oh you've come to touch us god tonight lord touch this man right now god your word has created power god your word when activated god when we believe your word and we act upon your word god you allow the power from heaven to be released god your word says that this man is to be baptized immersed in water with your saving name called out over him for the remission of his sins and god we release that god we practice that tonight god we do that right now lord god fill him with the holy ghost lord god fill him with the holy ghost god jesus name we pray everybody said amen sam mccampbell
