have your bibles and would join me quickly in the book of luke chapter 17. begin reading at verse number 12. and i believe i heard and now i do see i heard brother fallon praising the lord tonight it's so good to see brother fallon and the church from cleveland that's doing so awesome that church is just doing just doing awesome are we glad to be a part of the cleveland church thank god verse number 12 and as he entered into a certain village there met him 10 men that were lepers we stood afar off and they lifted up their voices and said jesus master have mercy on us and when he saw them he said unto them go show yourselves unto the priests it came to pass that as they went they were cleansed and one of them when he saw that he was healed everybody say healed he saw that he was healed turn back and with a loud voice glorified god i got a little nervous tonight when brother nolan was up here and fell down on his face it fell down on his face at his feet giving him thanks he was a samaritan jesus answering said where they're not ten cleansed but where are the nine they are not found that return to give glory to god save this stranger and he said unto him arise go thy way thy faith hath made thee whole just for a few moments tonight on this night of thanksgiving just for a few moments and let me say this uh tuesday night in sevierville that would be having a night of thanksgiving this coming midweek service here at 7 30. don't text me don't call me we're going to have church we always have church all right i've never understood people that don't have church at christmas i thought it was about him that'd be like having a birthday party for somebody and you throw it and you don't come up you don't show up so we're gonna have church wednesday night a night of thanksgiving here um it's going to be brother naomi our missionary to the philippines is going to be bringing the word of god i promise you you will be blessed um just for a few minutes tonight i want to keep you and i want to minister on this subject anybody ever felt like you were in the middle in the middle you ever felt like you're in the middle i want to preach on in the middle of healed and whole in the middle of healed and whole father i love you tonight i thank you for the privilege and the opportunity to be a preacher i thank you god that you've ordained me to speak your word to feed your sheep god i thank you lord that you called me to encourage your people lord you have encouraged me to teach your people the right way to walk and lord tonight the praises god that have ascended in this house lord i pray this evening that you would anoint me just one more time that i would be able to bring the word to this congregation lord you said in your word that if i loved you that i would feed your sheep help me to feed the sheep tonight lord give you praise and honor in jesus name amen and amen you may be seated i don't know we had a little technical difficulty this morning but i had the high honor and the high privilege of baptizing sister harvey's father this week and what was the high privilege i think i believe that it'll probably go in it'll probably go in uh the record it will probably go in the record he he when i baptized him on tuesday i baptized a 97 year old man there he is right there 90. there's a son-in-law behind me brother harvey and then i think a great-grandson there beside him and i baptized him and i'm going to tell you if you could have seen the joy of the lord on this 97 year old man praising god and worshiping god i believe he's got the holy ghost and i mean just a wonderful thing to see him praising god and worshiping god isn't it amazing isn't it amazing that his son-in-law and daughter were teaching him and they were studying the bible they have a bible study at their home and they were studying the bible and he just simply said when they taught him a baptism in jesus name he said well i see that i see that and he came over tuesday and we buried him in the wonderful saving name of jesus christ he's a world war ii veteran and uh i i thanked him there it was so neat just let me take a moment tell you about this picture here uh we took him up the elevator and into the baptismal room uh by way of the elevator you see there uh to your right would be the lockers of the uh aca and uh we're taking pictures there he served in world war ii uh and about that time uh one of the students came around the corner and i introduced him to this young man and i told him i told one of the students i said this this uh precious man fought in world war ii and the young man's eyes lit up he said that's what we're studying about in our class right now and i thought it was so neat to put the history together and i knelt down beside him and i thanked him like we ought to thank any man or woman that serves us and i thanked him i thanked him that he fought and gave me the freedom to preach the gospel and with big crocodile tears flowing down his face as i said i thank you mr kennedy i thank you for fighting so that i got freedom with big tears flowing down his face he said and i thank you that you freed me from my sins in the middle of healed and whole jesus cleansed all ten jesus healed all ten but there was one of them as brother nolan so beautifully said tonight that returned and with a loud voice gave jesus christ praise and the bible says that jesus told him that you are to arise and go your way your faith has made you whole you are now whole now that is the greatest thing that could ever happen to someone is not that they're healed but that they're made whole the greatest thing that could ever happen to an individual is to find the wholeness of salvation it's the greatest thing god didn't let you down when god didn't heal you because if you have been made whole you're going to ultimately receive what i refer to as your ultimate healing i'm thankful tonight in this evening of thanksgiving i'm thankful tonight yes god has healed me on numerous occasions i will tell you right now that from a few weeks ago having a heart rate of 40 beats per minute to now on an average day i'm about 58 beats a minute no medicine nothing has taken place maybe a little more exercise but you know and a prayer line amen and now i went from just in a month i went from about 40 beats per minute to about 56 58 beats per minute and i do thank the lord i thank the lord that he's a healer and thank god that he's a healer but i want you to know tonight he is a deliverer and he has delivered you and i and he's made a way but the greatest thing that we ought to thank him for tonight is that he has made us hope he has made us whole but in the middle of being healed and made whole is a decision that you must make to give him thanks to give him thanks please follow with me tonight as i read a lot of scripture on thanks in psalms 100 and 4 100 and verse number four we are told you and i are told to enter that's an action word giving thanks is not necessarily all an attitude giving thanks does have an action attached to it giving thanks begins with an attitude but it doesn't stay in an attitude giving thanks is a verb enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name paul said in romans 1 and verse number 8 first i thank my god through jesus christ for you all that your faith is spoken of throughout all the world the whole world now when you would just thanks is such a broad word what i'm thankful well are you what are you thankful for what are you thankful for you need to to get specific what are you thankful for the apostle paul sets the standard and he tells the church at rome i am thankful through jesus christ for you all follow along with me tonight but i want to itemize some things i'm thankful for not necessarily in a priority but i want to thank god tonight for you the church i want to thank god for you the people of god you are who you are through jesus christ our common denominator what brings us all together the rich the poor the white the black the uneducated the une the educated what brings us all together tonight is we have nothing in common outside of jesus christ jesus christ brings us all together and i thank my god you thank god for your brothers and sisters tonight do you thank god for your brother i'm thankful i don't know about you but brother croucher this is a whole lot better place than just me and about 10 others trying to do a webcast this is a whole lot better place as a matter of fact as a matter of fact i didn't like any of the times that i was here by myself and about 10 others and we were webcasting i know it we had to do it but you know what it made me so thankful for the church made me thankful for one another paul again in first corinthians chapter one verse number four listen to this that sounds like it's really something he wants all the churches that was the church in rome here's the church in corinth i thank my god always on your behalf for the grace of god which is given you by jesus christ here he is at rome here he is in rome telling the romans i thank my god for you here he is brother nolan down in corinth and he says to that church i thank my god for you there is a threat here that wherever paul went he wanted the people to know i thank my god for you i can't help but think that christians ought to be some of the most complimentary people in all the world i said we ought to be some of the most complimentary people in all the world we ought to be wowing the waiters at the restaurant with how thankful we are when they serve us when they bring that refill for that tea you ought to say thank you when they bring you the ranch for your french fries you ought to say thank you yeah just be thankful y'all just be thankful people do things for you ought to say thank you i say thank you i never forget years ago as an evangelist preaching for the acres elder brother anchor bishop gl acres and sister connie acres and of course their two sons david and george acres you know them and i was the third uh i was a third son there at the acres family and uh i went i went there and i was taught by my pastor to be very thankful be very thankful for the room when you're an evangelist be very thankful for the room where they put you be very thankful tell them when they take you out to you say thank you and when they give you an offering be thankful for it and whatever it is just tell them you're not worthy whatever it is right right right just be thankful and and so i was there at the acres family and sister acres she made a concoction of taking some biscuits and pouring cinnamon and sugar over these biscuits dear lord jesus of heaven a bear in my body it's called monkey bread called monkey bread man she'd make that monkey bread thank you mom acres thank you thank you and it seemed like the more you'd thank her the more she'd make if she made a favorite dish you were sure to get it before you left revival if you thank you now i'm going to tell you that's some of the best gravy right there them some of the best cat head biscuits i've ever had no homemade i mean them biscuits were made from scratch they might have been made from itch they were made from scratch you know and so while i was there brother luther evans down in wilson called me to come preach a few nights for him and i took brother george acres with me and of course as i sit down it mother evan's table i said mother evans this is some of the best green beans mother evans this is some good tenderloin here mother evans this is mother evans and then brother george caught on to this he said sister evans my mama attempts to make gravy but this is some of the best gravy i've ever my mama really don't know how to make gravy like this gravy right here and i looked over at him like too far buddy too far reverse that compliment reverse it back well i plumb forgot about it we drove back a few days later to the acres family mom makers spread a big meal for us and i began to say that's some of the best homemade tea i've had that's good stuff right there my makers that's some good cooking you've got us of which george decided to expose my hypocrisy sister pool brother george acre said mom don't listen to him he says that everywhere he goes and i thought you want to tango buddy we'll tango right here right now i said no brother akers brother george i am thankful i did tell mom evans i did tell mother evans that she made good this and good that but i did not tell mother evans what you told mother evans that your mother could not make gravy and that mother evans made the best gravy in all the world needless to say according to my makers that was probably the last supper for brother george acres but it seems like it seems like wherever paul is going paul's just thanking god for the church can we as we go about this week and we sat down on thursday can somebody lift up a prayer at the table and say god i thank you for the church i go to i thank you for i know listen brother sister carpenter the pastoral team we get a lot of thank yous it's time to spread some of that thank you out in the congregation be thankful for the people that sits on the pew with you be thankful for your child sunday school teacher be thankful for the people that make the music here and be thankful for the ushers be thankful be thankful for the coffee shop be thankful oh look what the lord has done be thankful somebody say be thankful in the middle of healed and whole paul would later go down to the church at philippi listen to him at the church at philippi in verse chapter number one and verse number three of the book of philippians listen to him chapter one he doesn't get three verses until he has to say this i thank my god upon every remembrance of you he said i'm thankful now let's travel down to thessalonica first thessalonians chapter 2 verse 13 thessalonica this is the church at thessalonica for this cause also thank we god without ceasing because when you received the word of god which you heard of us you received it not as the word of men but as it was as it is in truth the word of god which effectually worketh also in you that believe now watch what he says he says i not only thank you that you're part of the church but i thank you for how you became part of the church you became part of the church by hearing the word of god the word of god the preached word of god is the only thing that can save your soul you cannot be saved without the word of god the word of god is our compass the word of god is our instruction the word of god will heal you when you're sick the word of god will keep your marriage together the word of god will lift you up when you have been smashed to the ground the word of god will find you wherever you're at oh yes the word of god will find you in tradition and the word of god will find you in tradition and the word of god will say that's not the way to be baptized the word of god will find you in tradition and the word of god will say you can receive the gift of the holy ghost speaking in other tongues the word of god will find you in a tradition and begin to lead you how many are blessed by the word of god i'm so glad that the word of god found me in the area of tithing and offerings i'm blessed beyond measure tonight go on it's it's it's okay for you to brag on g on the word too blessed above measure tonight because the word of god found me didn't make any sense to me i needed more money but the word of god said if you'll honor me with tithe and offerings i'll open up you the windows of heaven pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive now let me preach to you a little bit what a lot of people need is not more money but more discipline and i guarantee you being disciplined to tithe and give offerings the holy ghost the holy spirit of god will help you not make that whim buying that you make because sometimes when you're not in agreement with the word of god you have an unbridled desire for things to fill up the hole but it's amazing thank you lord that tithing offerings found us we're able to give to be blessed we're able to give and to be blessed second thessalonians chapter one verse three we are bound to thank god always for you he's wrote a second letter but he can't get it get it out in the second letter he says we're bound to give thanks notice where it's at ii thessalonians chapter 1 verse 3. he can't go very far he doesn't he doesn't write very much until he says i just want to stop right here and let you know i'm thankful for you i wonder what god could do in marriages tonight if couples would always remind each other i'm so thankful for you i'm so thankful for you if you're here tonight you're a husband you got a wife that's here serving god listen there's a lot of men that go to houses of worship all by themselves you ought to tell your wife numerous times before you get home tonight honey thank you for wanting to go to the house of god thank you for wanting to go to the house of god if you've got a husband tonight and that man sitting beside you in this place that man sitting beside you in this place you ought to lean over and just simply say i thank you honey that you bring us to the house of god i thank you that you've got you've got a desire to want to come to that's something to be thankful for that's something to be that's better than a boat that's better than a new home that's better than you having an unlimited checking account somewhere to have a man or a woman that wants to serve god thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you paul begin paul began now to address individuals he had a young man under his ministry by the name of timothy paul and paul had influenced timothy's grandmother paul had influenced timothy's mother and now timothy is the product of a godly grandmother and a godly mother and there's some of you here here tonight and if you're here and you've got a grandmother and a mother here you are a special kind tonight you ought to be thankful that you've got a mother and a grandmother that's here tonight paul says to this young man timothy he says to this young man timothy in 2 timothy chapter 1 verse number 3. why am i surprised again you can't go very far brother without being thankful he says to the young man i thank god whom i serve from my forefathers with pure conscience that without ceasing i have remembrance of thee in my prayers day and night i thank god for you timothy now there's a man by the name of philemon paul writes to this man philemon he's not writing to churches anymore because we can paint with a broad brush and simply say oh thank god for my church but you gotta zero it in on somebody there's somebody you ought to say i'm thankful for i'm thankful for sister johnson in our school i'm thankful for sister jeter in our daycare i don't know why we were doing something we had some business to transact this year this this week and uh we we were out of town i had to have something notarized and sister jeter's a notary and she probably don't like me saying that right now y'all line up to get it notarized tonight but somehow because we wasn't there with sister jeter i had to somehow verify that i knew her and i said yeah i know her i know her husband william jeter i know their daughter brandy i know their son-in-law chad i know their two kids their grandparents maddie and cole i said yeah you better believe i know them be thankful get specific tonight i thank god for chase i thank god for chase condon that god sent into this church and you you may not realize this but god used that young man's talents and ability to what put one small clip on social media if all kinds of junk can be on social media why can't all kinds of grace be on social media social media is a powerful tool i thank god for chase condon that man took one clip of a message that i preached and i preached on a place called hell and i didn't realize he took the one clip put it on put it out on social media and i don't know all the lingo i'm sorry but a few weeks later nolan came to me and he said dad your message has went viral and i thought that would be viral virus i i thought i said i said man did i blow up somebody's computer i thought i was in trouble your your message i thought it ate up the white house or something i i thought what what in the world has it done i said no dad that means it's there there's there's there's thousands of people that are that are listening to it and then i i don't know brother chase just right off the top of your head could you holler out the amount of people that have watched that clip four million plus people that's incredible i have got invitations i have had conversation with denominal preachers i even had a conversation with a priest in rome about that message chase conan i appreciate you son i appreciate what you're doing i appreciate what everybody's doing to make this happen what whatever place that you serve i want you to know that i appreciate you i'm thankful for you find somebody and say thank you paul said to philemon i thank my god he he philemon musta it must have been something about philemon because all the other people got the third verse he gets the fourth verse philemon's 1 philemon 1 4 i thank my god making mention of thee always in my prayers you see the reason we need to be thankful people is when thankful people come together thankful people create an atmosphere thankful people create an atmosphere you see what you experience at fac of maryville is not is not some kind of emotional whipping up but what you experience is god's people individuals come together at church time and they all bring with them an atmosphere it is the atmosphere of praise and the atmosphere of thanksgiving and when that atmosphere begins to move that's why this morning we have the altar call before we had the sermon i said god i'm fine with that god decided to do the altar call before he had a sermon and a co-worker a brother todd malone's that has that works at ut uh hospital that has been coming for a few weeks her and her husband she said i couldn't stand it anymore i had to get to the altar and god refilled her with the baptism of the holy ghost where's kevin at kevin kevin couldn't hold it either kevin had just got baptized i thank god for james and ashley that are reaching out to our community and helping teach young men and young women showing them the truth of the power of god i want you to know i've got a lot to be thankful for tonight that woman came running down to the altar and god refilled her with the holy ghost kevin came to the altar and i'm believing god tonight kevin you're going to go home with the baptism of the holy ghost yay even tonight i thank my god brother mayo we create an atmosphere we create an atmosphere of praise when we come together the uh the sanctuary becomes an atmosphere it becomes energized with the holy ghost that's why first chronicles chapter 16 verse number eight give thanks unto the lord call upon his name make known his deeds among the people none of this private jesus junk none of this me and jesus got her own thing going if you're going to get thankful get out of your closet and begin to give thanks among the people because somebody may be going through something and they need to see that you went some through something and you've got your hands lifted praising god hey i know that guy over there his life's falling apart i mean i know that lady over there her life is falling apart look at them praise the lord look at them mate i heard they got laid off from the job i heard they lost their home i heard their kids ain't come home would you look at them over their praising god somebody needs your praise hallelujah hallelujah i said it's a night of thanksgiving i declare it to be a night of thanksgiving choir this one's for you ezra 3 and verse number 11 and they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the lord because he is good for his mercy endureth forever forever toward israel and all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the lord because the foundation of the house of the lord was laid i want you to know tonight that there are thousands of worshipers that go to their church on sundays and they are not sure where their church stands there's even let me just meddle a little bit there's a lot of apostolic pentecostal people that believe the message but they have to go to a church that they're really not sure where the pastor stands they really are not sure sometimes i go places and and they say well we we just we we knew where we were going under the old administration under the old pastor but the old pastor died and we've got a new pastor in it we're just not really sure the direction that we're heading in i'm telling you tonight you ought to be thankful that there's a foundation in this house there's a foundation in this house let me tell you something we're not leaving the apostolic doctrine we're not leaving holiness we're not leaving this great thing that has brought it i thank my god for it i thank my god for it come on if you're thankful if you're thankful you got this foundation tonight there are thousands of people watching online tonight that would trade places with you in a heartbeat they would trade places with you in a heartbeat sunday school classes that are being taught by people that don't even have the holy ghost and don't even believe in receiving the holy ghost churches where pastors are looking the other way for a little sip of wine every now and then you better shout over the foundation you better shout when you let your kids go to sunday school you don't have to wonder who's in that class teaching them you don't have to wonder you don't have to wonder what they're going to be taught my wife came through the sunday school hall today and she said there was zach dempsey sitting on the floor coloring with some kid and there was brianna dempsey she was out getting to class and doing things in the class let me tell you something we ought to thank our god we ought to hunt down your child's sunday school teacher before they leave tonight and just say i thank you i thank you and some of you that's got little infants over here in the nursery class you all when you pick them up tonight you want to look at them and say thank you for sitting in here tonight i know that you watched it on a television screen but but thank you that i got to get out in the aisle i got to sing in the choir i got to come on let's be thankful church thankful thankful psalms 1949. psalms 1949. can i preach this a few more moments psalms excuse me psalms 18 verse 49 psalms 18 49 therefore will i give thanks unto thee o lord among the heathen and sing praises unto thy name the heathen's just people that don't know god do you know the greatest evangelistic tool you want to help your prayer you want to help your pastor you want to help draw people out of the pew into the altar the greatest evangelistic tool is for you to praise the lord the greatest evangelistic tool would be for someone that doesn't know the lord to look around here and praise and worship and figure out he is in the minority here so stand there on the pew and think man wow all these people are praising god oh they're all they're all praising god and you know in the atmosphere of praise guess what happens god begins to touch them god begins to move upon them i said i said praise and worship is a great evangelistic tool it is when the whole church praises god it's an evident token and a testimony that god is real no sinner has to sit there and wonder i know the pastor's got to praise the lord he's a pastor i know his family's got to praise the lord that's his family i know some leaders have got to praise the lord because it's expected of them but they don't expect this to happen everything that hath breath everything everything you want to help you bring your backslidden daughter a backslidden son or sinner neighbors to church you know how to get them to the altar praise the lord let them look over and see you praising god let them look over and see you praising god the bible said when solomon built the house of the lord he built the house of the lord it was so great so grand that everybody came to see it the queen of sheba came and with great pomp and circumstance she came he showed her everything about the house the grand door of the house but the bible says when she watched his ascent into the house of the lord that there was no more it says there was no more spirit left in her the hebrew translation says that she fainted or fell out isn't it amazing he can show her all the gold and all the ivory and all the black marble he can show her all the hangings of the place and it never moved her but he said now i've got to show you the house of god and as they step to the house of god he said now queen you got to understand at this place right here i got to take this crown off because there's only one king in this house and and queen you got to understand that in this house i got to take my robe off because nobody's going to wear a robe in this house and the bible tells us in so many words that solomon began to worship god as he entered into the house of god and when solomon began to worship god that sinner the queen of sheba could not withhold herself the bible said that her spirit left her and she just fainted there and she said the half has not been told can i tell you that what will grow a church what will bring your children to god what will bring backsliders to god is for you to be thankful when we come to the house of the lord thanksgiving is contagious psalms 35 and verse number 18. watch this this is church growth psalms 35 verse 18 i will give thanks in the great congregation any congregation that praises is a great congregation i will praise thee among what sound like to me you get to praising god god will add much people to you because nobody wants to watch the ice truck go through town but everybody wants to follow the fire truck if a congregation they said that one congregation was so cold and dead that somebody died in it and the paramedics were called out that sunday morning and they emptied half the church before they found the dead person they could escape down the aisle and and and and all that on ice and all that i honestly i've heard all i've heard all them stories but can i tell you something nobody wants to attend the church that way i want to come where people are thankful to god i i want to i won't listen friend i i don't know the choir can you help me tonight choir did you notice pastor pastor knows y'all saying one of my favorite songs tonight this ain't no ordinary worship this ain't no ordinary song that god i search i told you i sing the god i serve is greater and the norm of that that's why i'm going to give him all i got i'm going to give him all i got i'm going to give him all i got in this moment let me tell you a story about a man named oh friend i know every word of that song and i sing it i can't sing it as good as they do but there's something about a praising church come on there's something about a praising church be thankful be thankful there's something about a praising church and there's something about a preacher to know when to quit it is god's will for you to praise god oh brother carpenter pray for me to get in the will of god i'm looking for the will of god i'm looking for the will of god oh i want to be in the will of god give me in the will of god do you well first thessalonians chapter 5 and 18 says this first thessalonians 5 18 says this in everything give thanks for this is the will of god in christ jesus concerning you in everything give thanks are you sick i want to feel for you i've been sick before are you sick take what energy you got and give god thanks hey there's going to be brother croucher there's going to be some amazing stories come out of covet and i just heard one friday night we were we were honored uh to preach the dedication by the court chavez's church there in loganville georgia we set across from a lady after church and uh as i overheard some talk i overheard that the woman had had covet a few months ago and it stayed in the intensive care and and she really got bad sick and she kept on talking now watch this now brother nolan she's in the intensive care she's really bad sick her husband was a backslider very bitter about the church had for years wanted nothing to do with the church during her sickness and thinking he may lose her brother after he prays back through he rededicates his life he gets back in church and serves god with a vengeance to make up for the years that he's lost she gets healed she gets out of the hospital her husband's serving god and he dies a few months later of a heart attack can i tell you something had the woman not got coveted he would have never got serious so in that we're just looking at covet thinking it's just come in here and whitewashed us i'm telling you god is able to work all things together for the good to them that are called according to his purpose and on that great getting up morning when god calls that woman home there's going to be a husband standing by the pearly gates to welcome it thank god come on give thanks tonight give thanks tonight i'm so sorry i heard the kids giving a testimony the other day and i'm sorry i don't know the people i don't know anything about the people but all i know is a man took a job and it was a high paying job it was it was it was it was a job you would dream to have and he was he was going to go to work and his pastor called him and said the holy ghost has spoke to me you don't need to take that job you don't need to go to that job you need to take this other job less pay and on and on it will you need to take this other job i can't explain it to you but the holy ghost is just telling me don't take that job just don't take that job well it didn't listen at the time it did not it did not sound like something he wanted to hear how in the world could it not be god's will for me to make this big money how in the world could it not be god's will for all this to happen but i'm going to tell you something he was obedient to the voice of his pastor he did not take that job he took a lesser-paying job and he went to work only for the news to break in a few days that a gunman went in that very place where he would have been working and shot and killed a bunch of people in that room i'm going to tell you something in all things give thanks for this is the will of god well brother carpenter i'm just down can i help you get picked up find something to be thankful for well i just don't know are you breathing is your heart meeting do you have sanity of your mind get on your feet and praise god get on your feet and worship god it's a night to be remembered nobody has an excuse tonight you're not poor that you're so poor you shouldn't praise you're not so sick you shouldn't praise if you got a voice it ought to be a praising voice come on musicians praise him well i do praise him when i come to church i do praise him when i come to church but you don't know what kind of hellish home life i got
