Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The head text: hear, O Israel (Deuteronomy 6:1-4)
- God commanded his statutes and judgments to be taught again and again, because Israel was going in to possess a land of blessing and his word had to go with them.
- The first thing to get right is the head of the passage: 'hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord' — if this is not settled, nothing else in Scripture fits together.
- John Gil's commentary, as quoted in the message: there can be only one Jehovah — one eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent, self-sufficient being, the first cause of all things.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:1-4
One God, the Holy One of Israel
- Text after text had the opportunity to name God as two or three, and instead calls him one Father, one Creator, and again and again 'the Holy One of Israel'.
- Psalm 100:3 keeps the pronouns singular for God — 'it is he that hath made us' — while we are the many: 'we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture'.
- Isaiah 43 names him the Lord who created and formed his people, who redeemed them and called them by name, who created them for his glory — 'I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King'.
Scriptures: Malachi 2:10; Psalm 71:22; Psalm 89:18; Isaiah 47:4; Psalm 100:3; Isaiah 43:1; Isaiah 43:7; Isaiah 43:15
God is a Spirit: omniscient and omnipresent
- Jesus gives the definition: 'God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth'; Paul agrees: 'now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty'.
- Psalm 139, read at length: God has searched and known us better than we know ourselves, and there is nowhere to flee from his presence — heaven, the grave, or the uttermost parts of the sea, his hand is there.
- A spirit has not flesh and bones: the risen Jesus showed his disciples his hands and his feet because they were frightened, supposing they had seen a spirit.
Scriptures: John 4:24; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Psalm 139:1-10; Luke 24:36-40
The image of the invisible God, and the eternal Spirit
- Redemption is through Jesus' blood; he is 'the image of the invisible God' — God because of the Spirit, flesh because of the plan of salvation; we could not be redeemed had God not become a man.
- If the blood of bulls and goats sanctified under the old order, how much more the blood of Christ, 'who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God'.
- Scripture never calls him the eternal Father or the eternal Son — only the Spirit is called eternal, because there was a time God was not yet the Creator or the Son of redemption, but there has never been a time he was not Spirit: that is his essence.
Scriptures: Colossians 1:14-15; Hebrews 9:13-14
One book about one God: Creator, conception, and cross
- Dividing the book's account of God into separate persons is like dividing a man's biography — baby, teenager, husband, father — into separate individuals; the Spirit of God moved on the waters at creation and is still sent forth to renew the face of the earth.
- The conception: the angel told Mary the Holy Ghost would come upon her and the power of the Highest overshadow her, and Joseph was told that which was conceived in her was of the Holy Ghost — the Spirit who fathered Jesus is God himself, not one person fathering another.
- On the cross, God withdrew from the man as the sin of the world came down on the sacrifice, and Isaiah 53 answers the cry 'my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me': it pleased the Lord to bruise him, and looking down, God saw his seed and was satisfied — Jesus is both the priest and the sacrifice.
Scriptures: Genesis 1:1-3; Genesis 1:31; Psalm 104:30; Isaiah 40:12-14; Luke 1:30-35; Matthew 1:18-20; Matthew 27:45-46; Isaiah 53:10-12
Regeneration: the same Spirit, and the new birth
- The same Spirit seen in creation and in the conception came in Acts chapter 2 for the regeneration of lost people; Peter grounded it in David's prophecy and in the resurrection of Christ.
- 'The right hand of God' is not a literal place — no one can stand at the literal right hand of an omnipresent God — it is the place of honour, power and fellowship lost in the garden and restored through Christ.
- Titus 3 names what we were — foolish, disobedient, deceived — and how he saved us: 'by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost'; the message closes on John 3:5: 'except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God' — the water and the Spirit are offered tonight.
Scriptures: Luke 24:46-49; Acts 2:29-35; Titus 3:3-5; John 3:5-6

thank you Lord if you're not already on your feet would you stand with me tonight great is the Lord and greatly to be praised What a Mighty God we serve what a mighty God we serve tonight what a what a mighty God we serve if you have your Bibles and would turn to the book of Deuteronomy chapter number six verse number one I um I'm debating on whether to tell you this tonight and um since I don't have my counselor first lady here I'll just go ahead and tell you um I had um some major dental work done and um had I known I had some implants put in and had I known after they put the implants in that they said that your speech will take about two months to be correct I'd have never done it I'd have never done it doctor said well this is a good excuse not to have to work for two months you don't understand it it's like fire shut up in my bones it's like fire shut up in my bones and I'm not I don't have a mouth full of cough drops tonight I'm not chewing gum um it will be get better I I'm practicing during the day I'm practicing Sally said she would sit down and shut up I'm prac all the s is that I can um but uh Hey if you can't be yourself around your church family you can't be yourself now that's out of the way verse one now these are the Commandments and statutes and the judgments which the Lord your God commanded to teach you that you might do them in the land where you go to possess it that thou mayest mightest fear the lord thy God to keep all his statutes and his Commandments which I command thee thou and thy son and thy Sons Sons all the days of thy life and that thy days may be prolonged hear therefore o Israel and observe erve to do it that it may be well with thee and that thou that you may increase mightily as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you in the land that floweth with milk and honey here everybody say here here o Israel the Lord our God God is one Lord God knows well the truth of the matter is that's a pitiful hand clap for a one God church now that's much better father I love you tonight help me Lord to be anointed help me God to be the man that you've called for this hour Lord touch my mind tonight help me to articulate and Lord I'll give you the praise and the honor and the glory in Jesus name I pray amen and amen you may be seated in Jesus name if there has ever been a day that we need a foundation it's today there's ever been a today that we need to be built on something that time and man cannot Decay it's today we are living in a day that we need to know what Foundation to build our lives on what Foundation to build our marriages on and what Foundation to raise our families on we need to know that Foundation my trip to Chile I must admit to you has always been filled with a a small smid smidgen of regret regret now what I mean by that is back in elementary school and Junior High School when they tried to give you an opportunity to learn Spanish well what in the name time would I need to learn Spanish what would I ever need so all the Spanish I know is uh C Uno do dce qu sinko TR as far as it goes um I know the essential words Bano at bathroom all right and you gotta you got to get Bano down but the whole time I'm there I am filled with regret why didn't I learn Spanish wouldn't have been you know um because older you get you know you can't teach an old dog new tricks somebody said but you can move his water bowl so the whole time we have a translator there but there's one thing I'm not going to regret and that is I'm going to teach on the foundation I'm going to teach on the foundation because there'll come a day that you'll need to give an answer to why you believe what you believe because because the apostolic church is marked by a difference we believe in one God we believe in water baptism only in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins We believe We we believe that the fullness of the godhead dwells in him now although when I'm there and I'm regretting why in the world why in the world didn't I learn Spanish I don't ever want to stand before someone someday and they begin to ask me why do you believe what you do I don't want my children one day to make a choice of where they go to church based on the activities of that church well they've got a lot going on for the Youth well they've got a bowling alley well they've got this and they've got that they're the largest in town none of that matter matters if they Don't Preach truth I would want to be able to tell my children and my grandchildren why and how you need to choose a church so I came to these passages of scripture Deuteronomy 6 1-4 and and in verses 1 through3 God is just simply telling them I've I've give you my word I've give you my promises I've given you my judgments I've commanded them to be taught repetition to be taught over and over again because you're going into the land to possess the land you're going into the land to be blessed and prosper and and he says but my word must go with you I'll give you Prosperity I'll give you everything that you need a land flowing with milk and honey but my word must go with you and then he said in verse four of Deuteronomy 6 he said this is the first thing I want you to understand and church this is the God's word word of truth if we don't get this right nothing else fits in scripture if we don't get this one God down right nothing else fits as you put the pieces of God's word together here oh Israel here we go here o Israel the Lord Our God that's a personal thing the Lord our God is one Lord John Gil wrote A Commentary and I really like his explanation of the Lord our God is one Lord he says the doctrine of which is that the Lord who was the Covenant God and Father Of His People Israel is but one Jehovah one Jehovah he is Jehovah the being of beings a self-existent being Eternal immutable that means without change he is but one in nature and essence this appears from the Perfection of his nature his eternity omnipotence that means all powerful omnipresent that means present everywhere Infinity without limit goodness self-sufficiency and Perfection for there can be but one Eternal there can be but one omnipotent there can be but one omnipresent one infinite one that is originally and of himself good oneself and all sufficient and perfect being which also may be concluded from his first from being the first cause of all things which can be but one and from his relations to his creatures as their King ruler govern and lawgiver I I really like John Gil's commentary that there can only be one Jehovah there can only be one Jehovah now when I talk about one I'm not talking about a unit I'm talking about one Lord one God the Lord our God is one Lord this is foundational Malachi 2 and 10 says it this way have we not all look at Malachi 210 on the screen have we not all say that word with me how many fathers now talking about a Creator here have we not one father hath not one God created us now brothers and sisters listen to me very closely um these are places in Scripture that if God wanted to reveal himself as 2 3 4 5 these are the places he could say that I am the holy two or I am the holy three or the holy nine but our Bible said he identifies himself somebody sh doubt it as the Holy One Psalm 71 and verse 22 Psalm 71 verse 22 I will also praise thee with the sultry even thy truth oh my God unto thee will I sing with the heart oh thou Holy One of Israel now I personally believe that there's a deficiency in some of our Apostolic churches on these basic doctrines because sometimes we're wanting something like a kid that wants a a a a a Three Musketeer bar for for for breakfast or he want he he wants a some kind of uh um sugar thing for for breakfast and sometimes the preaching we want we want that preaching that's telling me I'm coming out I'm going to be delivered all that's well and good in time but if you don't get the foundation right what it's like building a house it doesn't matter how much the flooring cost you it doesn't matter how much you paid for the light fixtures in that house if the foundation of that house is not right it's all coming down so it really doesn't matter the preacher that makes you feel good is it the teaching that makes you be able to stand on the Firm Foundation something you can pass down to your children Psalms 89 Verse 18 this is what I want to pass down to my family this is what I want to pass down to this church psalms 8918 for the Lord is our defense and the Holy One of Israel is our King Isaiah 474 these are just verses that that just I'm I'm I'm just laying the foundation Isaiah 474 as for our Our Redeemer the Lord of hosts is his name the Holy One of Israel Psalms 100 verse3 know you not not that the Lord look at this pronoun he he is God it is he not they not us it is he the Lord he is God it is he that ha made us and not we ourselves we are his people and the Sheep of his pasture look at that when it refers to sheep it's us we are we are the Sheep we he it is he that made us we're not we ourself we are his people us he made us we are his people why are we referred to as us and we because we're many but when it comes to him it's not an us or a we it's a he because God is one God is one Isaiah chapter 43 and verse number one Isaiah 43 and verse number one but now thus sayith the Lord that created thee oh Jacob and he that formed thee oh Israel fear not for I have redeemed Thee I have called thee by thy name Thou Art mine verse seven even everyone that is called by my name for I have created him from my glory I have formed him yay I have made him verse 15 look at this I am the Lord your Holy One the creator of Israel your king I submit to you I submit to you that I believe God is all knowing and God knew the times that we would live in just prior to his coming and so God God filled his word with scripture after scripture without the shadow of a doubt that I am the Lord your Holy One the Creator the king of Israel now we have established the fact tonight that our God is one not two not three not eight God is one so what is God in his essence God is a spirit listen to Jesus in John 4:24 Jesus gives the definition he gives us the the the the the definition of God in John 4:24 when he says God God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship him in spirit and in truth he said God is a spirit look at 2 Corinthians chapter 3 and verse 17 Paul says now the Lord here oh Israel the Lord our God is one listen to Paul now the Lord how how many how many lords are there Paul says now the Lord that one Lord is that spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty I'm going to tell you something there's something about the atmosphere of a church that preaches truth there's something about the atmosphere of a church that preaches truth because freedom is in the atmosphere now let me read you Psalms 139 1-10 and I want you just put this in the back of your mind how that these verses are speaking of God being all knowing of omniscient all knowing and all present I'm not present listen to David in Psalms 139 verse1 oh Lord how many lords are there oh Lord you do do you reckon this is the one Lord here he's talking about sure it is oh Lord Oh Lord you have have searched me and known me thou knowest my Downs sitting and my uising thou understandest my thought a far off you can pass my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways for there is not a word in my tongue but oh oh but lo oh Lord thou knowest it alog together thou Hast beset me behind and before and laid thine hand upon me such knowledge is too wonderful to me for me it is high I cannot attain unto it let me tell you what God is saying right here just basic God knows you better than you know know God knows you and I better than we know ourselves that's why we need to be people of prayer that say search my heart oh God and know my ways Lord I care how what kind of grade I put on my life God all that matters you know more about my life than I do he summed it up and just simply said this knowledge is too high for me and then verse seven follow closely whether shall I go from thy spirit and whether shall I flee from thy presence he said David said you're all knowing you you're you're you're om you're omnicient you're all knowing god you know me better than I know myself you're all knowing god and now he says you're omnipresent where can I go from your presence from your spirit whether shall I flee from thy presence so where can I go to get away from your spirit where can I go to get away from your presence well here it goes if I Ascend up into heaven Thou Art there if I make my bed in hell hell behold Thou Art there now that's not the hell the Eternal fire of judgment that's hell the grave if I make my bed in hell behold Thou Art there if I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea even there shall thine hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me David said God you know more than me God you're omniscient God you know more than I know God who wouldn't want to serve God the only person wouldn't want to serve God be a know it all but when you realize you don't know it all don't you want to serve him when you realize that you don't know it all don't you want to serve him David said you you you know all about me and then he said God where could I ever go to get away from your presence you're you're omnipresent you're omnipresent now listen to Jesus Give a definition of a spirit Luke 24:36 Luke 24:36 it says and as they thus spake Jesus himself stood in the midst of them this is after his crucifixion and resurrection and saith unto them peace be unto you but they were terrified and frightened and supposed that they had seen a what oh they saw him after the crucifixion they saw him after this and he appeared in the room and they were terrified and frightened why they thought they were seeing a spirit he said unto them why are you troubled and why do thoughts arise in your hearts behold my hands and my feet that it is that it is I myself handle me and see for a spirit hath not Flesh and Bones as you see me have and when he had thus spoken thus he showed unto them his hands his feet now one of the reasons they were terrified and a frighten they had a Superstition that right before they were going to die if they saw the ghost of somebody that had died that that ghost was coming for them and so they had watched Jesus die and the next thing they see is Jesus standing there and they're just thinking boy Peter Paul John we're next and he said Oh no you're not seeing a spirit for a spirit does not have flesh and blood does not have Flesh and Blood doesn't have flesh and blood as you see me as you see me it doesn't handle me a a spirit doesn't have let get correct Flesh and Bones as you see me have so now Jesus said a spirit and God is a spirit that he doesn't have Flesh and Bones as you see me have now let me explain this in Colossians chapter 1 and verse number 14 Jesus said a spirit he said God is a spirit and then he said that a spirit doesn't have Flesh and Bones he explains this look at Colossians 1:14 speaking of Jesus in whom we have Redemption through his blood what's his name what's his name we have Redemption through his blood even the Forgiveness of sins who we talking about verse 15 who is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of every creature Jesus was God because of the spirit but he was also flesh because of the Plan of Salvation we could not be redeemed had not God became a man it took God the Creator becoming a man in order for us to be redeemed we could not be saved without that look at Hebrews chapter Hebrews chapter number n and verse number 13 Hebrews 9:13 I believe this will bring Del light Hebrews 9 13 for if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of a hepher sprinkling the unclean Sanctified to the purifying of the flesh now he uses the Old Testament he said if God would allow the blood of a bull and the blood of a goat and the ashes of a consumed cow to be sprinkled over people and God would allow that to pronounce them from unclean to clean look at verse 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God Purge your conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God can I tell you how blessed We Are Tonight church if God in the Old Testament would use the blood of bulls and goats and God would say that's sufficient for right now how much more shall the precious spotless blood of the Lamb aren't you glad you're redeemed tonight aren't you glad you're redeemed tonight oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah now I want you to pay attention to verse 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit I like for everybody say those two words eternal spirit eternal spirit what kind of spirit is it eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God purg your conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God nowhere in scriptures is father or son referred to as Eternal nowhere nowhere in scripture does the is the father ever referred to as the Eternal Father or the Eternal son the only time you hear the word Eternal is for Spirit why is that it's simple there was a time that God was not a Creator a father of creation just like just like every man here tonight that is a father there was a time in your life you were not a father there was there was time when God was not the father of creation there was time that God was not the son of redemption oh I promise you you want to speak Spanish someday I promise you you you going to get on your lunch break someday and if you don't listen right now they going to tie you up in knots and you're going to be unable to communicate in the world for what you believe but if you'll just dig in tonight and understand not one time in the verse in the Bible does it ever call him the Eternal Father or does it call him the Eternal son because there was a time he was not a Creator this world is not Eternal this world is not Eternal there was a time that he that that God was not a son he is not the Eternal Son of God he is the only begotten Son of God but there has never been a time that God has not been spirit that is his Essence that's why the Bible says God who the eternal spirit oh yes oh yes the spirit of God creates thus he becomes the father of creation Now I'm going to tell you what man has done with this book you realize tonight if I take if I took brother Erikson for an example I wrote a book about brother Ericson after all this book is a book about God would you all agree with that tonight it's a book about God so I said to you I have a book night about Chad Ericson well I I start off he was a baby okay he was a baby and then he was a teenager and then he was a single man and uh Fon let me tell you some of the stories they've told me about brother Ericson in Bible college but I'll I'll sa that for later all right a young man in the Bible College and then there would be a young man that got married he's a husband and then some beautiful granddaughters came and he's a father if I took that book and said well we've got one person of the baby we've got another person of the of the uh teenager we've got another person we're going to divide it all up these are separate individuals you say brother carer that that is that that's ridiculous you're you're really rather insulting me that I came out on Wednesday night to hear that but I really tell you we'd never do that but man has done that to this book this book is a book about God and they get in this book and they find where God created all things and they say well let's just cut him over here he's the he's God the father he's God the father he's Eternal he's got all power and then later on in the book they find God becoming a man they say oh that's God the son that's that that's the other person that's the second person and then later on they they get to the Holy Ghost and they say oh that's the that's the third person all of which is terminology that cannot be found in the lids of your Bible oh you want to be able to speak Spanish someday I promise you this is going to matter someday somebody's going to say why make a big deal about getting baptized why make a big deal about the Holy Ghost you're going to take them all the way back to the beginning and say this is why we're doing this it's a book about God and God is one and God is a spirit in Genesis 1 and one starts off like this in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth the Earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and God said let there be light and there was light go all the way down to verse 31 and God saw everything that he had made and behold it was very good and the morning and the evening and the morning and the evening were the sixth day what happens here in chapter one God becomes the father of creation but he becomes the father of creation through the thing that he is eternal the spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters look at genes excuse me Psalms 104:30 thou send forth thy Spirit they are created thou renewest the face of the Earth he talking about the spirit the spirit its work in creation Isaiah 40 verse 12-4 who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand now it's using it's using the imagery of a man to talk about the vastness of God who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or measured out the heaven with a span and comprehended the dust of the Earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the heels in a balance talk about the Creator who has directed The Spirit of the Lord or being his counselor had taught him with who took he knowled counsel and who instructed him and taught him in the path of judgment and taught him knowledge and showed to him the way of understanding is talking about God being the Creator so we don't deny a father don't let anybody tell you you Oneness people deny the father you're Jesus Jus only you deny the father we do not deny the father we praise God for the fact that he is the creator we're not a product of evolution we're not a pro we're not a product of a cosmic Collision we are the product of An Almighty God who created all of this earth now let's jump several Thousand Years man needs a savior can you say Amen man needs a savior Luke 130 chapter 1 and verse 30 and the angel said unto her fear not Mary for you have found favor with God and behold Thou shalt conceive in thy womb you're going to conceive in your womb and bring forth the son and shall call his name Jesus he shall be great and shall be called the son of the highest and the Lord God shall give unto him the Throne of his father David and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no end now watch Mary now it's really important watch her then said Mary unto the angel how shall this be seeing I know not a man sounds logical and the angels answered and said unto her the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee therefore also that Holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called The Son of God so now if you're going to break them up and make them separate persons youve got a real issue right here and I say this in all love because that Doctrine teaches you that the first person is the father of the second person but if that be true Mary asked how will I get pregnant he said the angel said the third person is going to overshadow you and give birth to the second person and and I know tonight that you're sitting there that that's not but that's that that's true that's what you would have to believe but when you rightly divide the scripture oh I want to be on a foundation I want to be on a foundation the storm is here and there's more storms coming and I want to get my family and the church that I Pastor I want to get them on the foundation that can endure the test of time you see if that was true the third person would be the father of the second person but it's not so the spirit of God caused that conception let's listen to Joseph in Matthew 1:18 in Matthew 1:18 now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise when as his mother Mary was in spoused to Joseph before they came together she was found I wish somebody help me tonight she was found with child of the Holy Ghost why not the father I submit to you tonight what I'm doing is I'm putting the needle of the word into the veins of the blood of Jesus Christ now I'm doing a DNA test and this DNA test we're doing tonight is showing you who the father of Jesus is and the father of Jesus is the holy ghost or the spirit of God but don't get in your mind another person because God is a spirit verse 19 then Joseph her husband being a just man not willing to make her a public example was minded to put her away privately but while he thought on these things behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying Joseph thou son of David Fe fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife for that which is conceived in her is of the h g Holy Ghost let's continue to go why did God have to take on a body listen to me closely we could not be saved had God not taken on Flesh and Bones we could not be saved we could not be saved he hangs on a cross he hangs on a cross and in Matthew 27:45 our Lord hangs on a cross Matthew 27:45 now from the sixth hour there was Darkness over all the land until the ninth hour and about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice saying Eli Eli Lamont Sabathani that is to say my God my God why have you forsaken me why have you left me why have you forsaken me Isaiah 53:10 gives us the answer of why there on that cross God withdrew himself from that man God withdrew himself there was a transition that took place the sin of the world came down upon that sacrifice and as the sin of the world came down upon that sacrifice rice God withdrew himself from that body here's the reason Isaiah 5310 yet it pleased the Lord how many lords are there it pleased the Lord to bruise him he hath put him to grief when thou shalt make his soul and all offering of sin for sin he God shall see his seed he shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand he shall see the travail of his soul God shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied satisfied by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many for he shall bear their iniquities therefore will I divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong because he poured out his soul into death and was numbered with the transgressors and he bare the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors I'm going to tell you just like the Old Testament when the priest would bring the priest would bring the sacrifice and put it on the Altar and consume the sacrifice the priest stood there and watched the sacrifice be consumed the difference with Jesus Christ he is both the priest and the sacrifice he is both God and man and there on Calvary hanging on that tree it when all the the the the suffering was completed God withdrew himself and the man cried out and asked a question that only Isaiah could answer he withdrew himself from you so that he could look down upon Earth where sin had been committed he could look down upon a man like unto Adam who had sinned and when he looked down he was satisfied when he looked down it took Jesus Christ to satisfy the angry righteousness of a holy God God is angry with sin every day and the only thing to get God to turn his anger away from us is when we have our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ when we put our faith in him oh would you praise him for a moment oh would you praise him for a moment oh would you praise him for a moment come on if you would praise him for a moment the Bible said when God looked down upon Jesus Christ the man at Calvary he saw his seed he saw the church he saw you and I brother and sister he saw you and I dead in our trespasses and sins he saw you and I bondage to sin but he saw somebody bringing to us the greatest name that's ever been the ma magnificent Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and he saw you sister penon say yes Jesus he saw you fellon say yes Jesus he looked down and saw you and I oh I praise him tonight I Praise Him wo Hallelujah I praise him he looked down and saw you and I oh yes he did yes he did yes he did three days later that same spirit that caused his conception that same spirit that left him that same spirit re-entered that corpse in that tomb raised that corpse up to be the first fruits of them that slept but it didn't stop there in Luke chap 24 verse 46 Jesus is about to ascend to heaven to do the work of a priest a mediator Luke 24:46 Jesus said unto them thus it is written and thus it behooved moved Christ to suffer thus it moved him to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day and that repentance listen to Jesus and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem and you are witnesses of these things behold I send the promise of my father upon you but ter you in the city of Jerusalem until you be endured with power from on high he ascended into heaven there a few days later in Acts chapter 2 the Holy Ghost came that same spirit that was the creation of this world that same spirit that caused Mary to conceive in her womb but the spirit came with a different purpose the first time we see Spirit in scripture is creation we see Spirit in in Scripture it was conception but now we see the spirit in scripture brother Erikson and it is for the Regeneration of lost people such as you and I it is that regeneration that word regeneration means New Birth it means renewal Recreation regeneration listen to Peter in Acts 2 verse 29 the the Holy Ghost is Fallen 120 Peter says to the crowd he's preaching in verse 29 Peter said men and Brethren and and and and this not part of my sermon it's not part of my sermon but I'm G to make it part of my sermon you know people that don't believe the Oneness are not my enemy don't make people your enemy because they don't believe like you believe you will never win them to truth making them an enemy or demonizing them or saying you don't have anything or anything like that you need to have some wisdom about you Peter said to a group of what' he call them he didn't call them heathens and rep probates he said men and Brethren men and Brethren let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David that he is both dead and buried and his SRE is with us unto this day therefore being a prophet and knowing that God has sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his of his loins according to the flesh he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne he's seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ that his soul was not left in hell that's a grave neither did his flesh see corruption this Jesus hath God raised up wherefore we are all Witnesses therefore now notice this now course what a lot of people get tripped up the right hand of God the right hand of God all right therefore being by the right hand of God exalted and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost he has shed forth this which you now see and hear for David is not ascended up into the heavens but he saith himself the Lord said unto my Lord s thou on my right hand there's right hand until I make thy foes thy foot stol I'm trying to rush cuz I I want to get you out of here in just a few moments but too many people talk about what you got the right hand of God Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the right hand of God is not a literal place it's not a literal place because let me ask you again how would you get to the right hand of a god who's omnipresent you couldn't get to the right hand of a God that's omnipresent it doesn't mean right hand it means a place of honor and of power man in the garden was at the right hand of God he had Dominion he had power he had Fellowship he was at the right hand of God but when man fell in the garden we lost our power of dominion and now we're being ruled instead of ruling the the environment is ruling us instead of us ruling the environment but praise be unto God that God be became one of us and God paid the sacrifice debt and God gave a message of the Gospel of the new birth that if we would believe upon him and repent of our sins and be born again of the water and of the spirit that we could enjoy the right hand and the fellowship of all Mighty God oh would you stand with me for a moment being exalted by the right hand that doesn't mean a a literal right hand is talking about since Adam fell no man no man could be in the could be in The Fellowship of the power and the honor but when God became a man when God became a man he said it is to your advantage that I go away for if I go not away the comforter cannot come but if I go away I will send him unto you and just like we had a t Tabernacle on Earth where there was blood shed at an altar and there were washing and it wasn't complete it wasn't complete until the high priest went in once a year with blood and sprinkled the blood on the Altar and when he came out Israel rejoiced why because our sins have been pushed up one more year praise be unto God when the Great high priest Jesus Christ left this church left this world he ascended up into heaven and there he is is the mediator he is the goet that at the name of Jesus we have access into heaven at the name of Jesus if you're thankful that you know him would you give him praise would you give him praise come on would you give him praise oh thank you God you became a man thank you God you shed your blood thank you God you were the Creator thank you God you were the Redeemer thank you Lord you are my regenerator oh I'm going to test you right now I'm going to give you a test the amount of amens that come out of this congregation not Lord determine if you're self-righteous cuz I'm going to tell you brother Perry I see myself in Titus 3 and three I see myself let's see every time you can see yourself say say Amen to the top of your voice verse three for we ourselves also were sometimes foolish disobedient deceived serving many lust and Pleasures living in Malice and envy boys getting weak hateful and hating one another was that you that was me that was me I was a sinner liar cheater and anything else you want to add to that but after that the kindness and love of God our savior appeared not by works of right ousness which we have done but according to his Mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost oh hallelujah hallelujah New Birth renewal Recreation regeneration oh my God oh my God hallelujah let me close I close with this I close with this it's the greatest thing you'll ever hear it's the greatest thing you'll ever hear Brother Hammond I believe has got a I I I I I I don't I don't want to be guilty I I I told our trustee tonight I and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God that which is born of the flesh is flesh that which is born of the spirit is Spirit if you're not baptized in that wonderful name we have water tonight if you're not baptized in that wonderful name we have a place for you to be baptized tonight if you want to be filled with the spirit of God tonight you come around this altar God will fill you with his Spirit he made a promise come on could we lift our hands and lift our voices right now stir yourself up right now now Church stir yourself up right now oh don't go back to the way you used to be come on stir yourself up right now stir yourself up right now oh don't go back to the way you used to be come on come on just a little praise to the king tonight just a little praise to
