the book of Acts chapter 2 begin reading it verse number one I'm going to say a great big praise the Lord to all of our guests and family that have come to be with us on this Memorial Day weekend and as brother Weatherly said we do live in a wonderful part of the world to where when we have people that are gone on this day we have a multitude of people that come back in and we're so glad to see each and each and every one of you here in the house of the Lord today I mentioned brother sister tellino here with us today and we owe this couple a lot we owe this couple a lot brother said to teleno sister Delano is Sister Sandy hides their sisters years ago before sister Sandy Hyde and at that time her husband Brother Gary glasscock three beautiful children Garrett and Bailey and Justin they were not in church but they lived over and West Knoxville and uh the telenos were evangelists that they came through and they connected their sister and their brother-in-law to this church and the rest is history what a blessing what a tremendous blessing that they had been Garrett I love you good to see you today and what a tremendous blessing pastor and Sister Erickson are somewhere around the St Louis area preaching this weekend and so we we pray for them today's Pentecost Sunday praise God and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of Fire and it's set up on each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance or the ability to do so go all the way down to verse number 14 of the same chapter but Peter standing up with the eleven lifted up his voice and said unto them he men of Judea and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem be this known unto you and hearken to my words for these are not drunken as ye supposed seeing it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel and it shall come to pass in the last days saith God I will pour out of my spirit upon All Flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit and they shall prophesy father in the name of Jesus today I need the Holy Ghost Lord although I have initially received it God I need your spirit to be upon me today Lord we need your spirit in this church God we need Lord we need your spirit God to be ever abiding upon us and Lord we'll give you praise and give you honor in Jesus name I pray and if you need God's spirit give him a hearty hand clap as you're being seated right now oh yes I need him oh yes I need him what I want to preach this morning on the subject Pentecost has come Pentecost has come why don't you repeat my title with me today Pentecost has come you know in the field of advertisement in the field of advertisement some of the most powerful modes of advertising a product some of the most powerful modes of advertising a product is when someone gives a personal story of the life change that they have had since taking the product or since engaging in the product that before and that after picture right you've seen them that before that after picture you know you know that that that new weight loss that they got and that guy's standing there and he's holding an old pair of pants out way out here you know he could now fit in one leg and and and all of that man that that that gets people's attention when they can see it when they can see what this product is done before and and after it's a it's probably one of the most powerful modes of advertising that the advertisement World happens well I want to use the same today to show you the benefit of the Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost it's not it might work in advertising their products might work they'll put a little they'll put a little thing on there that might you know there's a possibility but I am here to tell you if you will yield yourself to the Holy Ghost it's not you might become a better person it is you will become a better person there is no and ifs or buts about it you will become a better person well let's look at something in the Book of Genesis chapter one verse number one in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth and the Earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God the Holy Ghost moved upon the face of the waters and from verse 2 to verse number 31. God's spirit a Holy Ghost was moving on something that had no shape something that was void it was lifeless it had no shape it had no life and to put everything upon it Darkness was upon the face of the deep now we understand that one thing that's needing for for life one thing that's needed for life among water one thing that's needed for life is light you got to have light and the Bible said this Earth that we're now on was without form it was void it was empty and there was no possible way of life because Darkness was upon it but at the end of verse 2 the Holy Ghost the spirit of God it's the same thing the Holy Ghost moved upon something that was empty without form and full of Darkness and when the Holy Ghost moved upon it we go down to verse number 31 and God saw everything that he had made and behold it was very good in the evening and the morning were the sixth day can I tell you and if you could you could show the picture of that the world again at first it's an earth that's empty formless and dark and when God got through with it how many would say Amen that that looks a whole lot better than what God started with that looks a whole lot better I'm going to show you from the first book in the Bible to the last book in the Bible anytime the Holy Ghost is allowed to come in it will always leave you better we'll always leave you better always always let's follow along through the scripture Genesis chapter 6 and verse number three now we understand what happened between Genesis 1 and Genesis 6 this ugly thing called sin entered the human race this ugly thing called Disobedience enter the human race and man began to look like the deceiver and not like the deity the god that had made him man took on the attributes of Satan the darkness he took on those attributes of that and then Genesis chapter 6 and verse number 3 simply says and the Lord said my spirit which is the Holy Ghost my spirit my spirit shall not always strive with man for that he also is flesh yet his day shall be 120 years can I tell you about the Holy Ghost today the Holy Ghost will fight for you the Holy Ghost will fight against the disease of sin that is in you the Holy Ghost will fight that and here in Genesis 6 and 3 man was just like an avalanche it started with just Disobedience to eating a fruit of the tree but now their marriages are mixed up messed up and now there's violence and there's crime and there's all there's all of these things there's all of these things and man is living in grotesque sin and God says it that that little Golden Nugget there in verse three he says my spirit's not always going to fight against you now I don't want you to get your mind so much today on God saying there will come a time that I'll stop fighting because there will come a time that God will stop fighting but would you please focus in today that he is not a God that just lets you go flippantly he is just not a God that just lets you go he just didn't say all right Adam and Eve you sinned brother Nolan I'm washing my hands of you no God's spirit begin to strive with me you know he's trying I think he was waking him up in the middle of the night saying you know better than this he was letting them know when they were partaking in their sin there were just some alarms going off inside of them because he wasn't going to allow them to enjoy that sin without his voice ringing the bell in their ear thank you Holy Ghost thank you Holy Ghost for striving with us today thank you holy ghost that when we have not said things that's pleased you and we have not done Deeds that have pleased you thank you Holy Ghost today that you've not given up on us thank you Lord that you stabbed Us in the heart and you let us know that we had the need of repentance thank you Lord and then there's the Book of Ezekiel chapter 37 verse number one Israel had been miserably miserably defeated the Bible says in verse number 1 of chapter 37 the hand of the Lord was upon me and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord the Holy Ghost moved on Ezekiel set him down in the midst of the valley which was full of Bones he set him down in a place that Israel had lost a massive Victory they had lost there there their bones were was a testimony to the trophy of the enemy's success he calls me to pass by them round about and behold there were very many in the open Valley and behold they were very dry he said unto me son of man can these bones live and I answered O Lord thou knowest he said unto me and he said unto me prophesy unto these bones and say unto them all you dry bones hear the word of the Lord thus saith the Lord God unto these bones behold I will cause breath to enter into you and you shall live I will lay sin use upon you and bring up flesh upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you and you shall live and you shall know that I am the Lord so I prophesize I was commanded and as I prophesied there was a noise behold the shaking and Bones came together bone to his bone when I beheld though the sinews Came Upon the Flesh and upon them and the skin covered them about but there was no breath in them can I tell you don't you see it getting better now God sent this defeated place a holy ghost preacher he sent him a holy ghost Ezekiel he sent him a man that was on a mission of the Holy Ghost can I tell you men and women on a mission don't show up at palaces they show up at graveyards men and women with a purpose they don't show up where people are perfect they show up where people are dead and that's the reason they're there because the Holy Ghost is a before and after he he just begins to preach the word he begins to preach the word in their lives their bones started coming back together let me go on down to verse number nine their flesh has come up but they're still dead then said he unto me prophesy unto the wind prophesy son of man say unto the wind thus saith the Lord God come from the Four Winds oh breathe and breath and and breathe upon these slain that they may live so I prophesied as he commanded me and there and and the breath came into them and they lived and stood upon their feet and exceeding gray army how many believe Today Show me the Boneyard again how many believe today that what that was doesn't look near as good as a standing army marching what happened Pentecost has come the spirit of God has come it can take a world that's empty and void and darkness and turn it into the beautiful Smoky Mountains it can take a graveyard of Bones and defeat and turn it into a marching Army Pentecost Pentecost Pentecost has come but we're not through Reading because God says this is what I want to do with you verse number 10. so I prophesied as he commanded me and the breath came into them and they lived and stood upon their feet and exceeding great Army then he said unto me son of man these bones are the whole house of Israel behold they say our bones are dried our hope is lost and we are cut off you may be in your Boneyard today but you have come to a church that believes that Pentecost has come you may have tried a lot of things and a lot of products in your life and a lot of religions that didn't work for you but I'm here to tell you today Pentecost has come and you don't need to no longer say we have no hope because Pentecost has come he said they say our hope is lost we are cut off from our parts verse 12 therefore prophesy and say unto them thus saith the Lord God behold o my people I will open your Graves and cause you to come up out of your Graves and bring you into the land of Israel and you shall know that I am the Lord when I have opened your Graves o my people and brought you up out of your Graves and shall put my spirit in you and you shall live and I shall place you in your own land then shall you know that the Lord has spoken it and performed it say it the Lord don't set in your Boneyard don't say it don't lay in your grave and say my life is over I can't make it anymore I'm just a helpless human being because God has sent you a holy ghost preacher on the day of Pentecost to tell you let the Holy Ghost get on you let the Holy Ghost begin to touch you today I'm talking about what the Holy Ghost can do before and after the Book of Judges chapter 13. verse number 24 Israel needed to deliver God spoke to a woman and a man that they were going that the woman was going to bear this deliverer and this deliverer his name would be Samson verse 24. and the woman bear son and called his name Samson and the child grew and the Lord blessed him and the spirit of the Lord which is the Holy Ghost began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zora and Esther all now Samson is going to take a Jawbone of a donkey a decayed a donkey that died the buzzards ate all the flesh and all that was there was a Jawbone Samson gonna take a Jawbone of that donkey and he's going to kill a thousand men in him it's not him somebody help me out today it's not him what is it it's the Holy Ghost you can't you can't defeat a thousand me and one man can't whip a thousand men not with a Jawbone of a donkey but Samson can how is that the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost began to move him do you know that you and I can do things that we could not do on our own but if we allow the Holy Ghost that's why that's why the Bible says we're born again out of the Starting Gate we're born again of the water and of the spirit that's why we get a good start at Salvation because of the Holy Ghost we look around and we say we I remember a man gave a testimony one time that had a he had a temper and a half I mean he hit his fist they stayed either they stayed wrapped in gauze I mean and you pretty well knew what had happened he had a temper he couldn't control it or he had a temper that controlled him maybe that'd be a better way of saying it but he'd just get mad and hit things he always stayed in trouble but when he lost everything he came to a Pentecostal Church and God filled him with the Holy Ghost and over time the Holy Ghost went in his mind and healed all that stuff that made him angry and the Holy Ghost made him make me just healed all that in one day in traffic he had cut somebody off into being too he just kind of pulled out and this other man got out of the car and brother Tharp he walked around to that window went and he cussed him out I mean he called him everything but a righteous child of the most high God I mean he cussed him out and that man just looked up and said these simple words you better be thankful I have the Holy Ghost don't you love Jesus this morning has anybody in this house glad that Pentecost has come about anything could say today I'm a better man because I got the baptism of the Holy Ghost house today that that it is not Pride you're not bragging on yourself you're bragging on Jesus this morning I'm a better man I'm a better woman but we know something about old Samson don't we although Sampson had the spirit of God moving on him Samson also dabbled with the world we do that sometimes too and in Judges chapter 16 verse number 20. somebody said the other day you hang around the barbershop long enough you'll get a haircut you hang out around sin where you shouldn't be long enough you'll fall in he kept his head in the wrong lap and Delilah gave him a haircut that's where his that's where his power was in his obedience in chapter 16 verse number 20 . she said the Philistines be upon these Samson and he await and he awoke excuse me out of the out of his sleep and she got him asleep she cut his hair and was his sign it was a Nazarite she woke him up and she said Samson the Philistines be a boy he woke up and said I will go out as at other times before and shake myself and he wished not that the Lord was departed from him all right he uh God knows the only way I'm going to wake him up is I'm all leaving I'm going to leave him now now listen to me there's a difference between leaving you and forsaking you sometimes we get so caught up in our own Pride that God has to say okay Kenny okay buddy I'm just going to step out for a moment and let you have it I'm going to step out because you're getting to think you're getting to think you you're getting to think that you got this on your own I'm just going to step out here and let you handle it for a little bit and I'm going to tell you something it doesn't take life once you have tasted the Holy Ghost once you have known the power of God once things have come out of your mouth wisdom has come out of your mouth decisions have come out of your mouth things have just worked and put in place and then all of a sudden it's not happening you begin to say oh Lord my God I sure do need you God I I need you I need you back there's a difference between God leaving you and God forsaking you God did not forsake Samson that God left Samson and Samson went out and did him a little worship he did a little worship a little shaken and he said come on boys get me because at other times he can kill a thousand of them with this to job on over donkey come on there's only about 16 of you in this room come on and get me and Buddy wasn't he in for a shot they grabbed him and held his arms behind his back and they laid him down and they took his two eyes out of his head they took him down to a prison and they tied him to a post and made him grind a meal they let the donkey go the donkey would go in circles and grind meal and they tied Sampson they tied Sampson there and Samson went in circles no eyes in his head shamed he went in circles but one day just because God has left you God just wants to show you a lesson in life God loves you too much not to give him glory and we ought to all as Christians today we ought to every one of us live our lives for people to see the glory of God in our lives for them to seek God in our lives if they don't see anything else let them see God in my life if they don't if they don't see anything else about us Church let's let our community see God in this church I'm glad for everything that we got from this building to this music to all of this today but if that's all this world sees we've missed the mark a million miles I want this world I want our community to see Jesus Christ inside of us they took Samson down one day there was 3 000 of them in a Coliseum and they took Sampson down for at halftime to Market Sampson and in Judges chapter 16 and verse 28 and Samson called unto the Lord and said oh Lord God remember me I pray thee and strengthen me I pray thee only this once o God that I may be that I may at once the avenge of the Philistines from my two eyes now he prays can I tell you people that God has left ought to pray he gets down between two pillars and he begins to pray and he says God would you touch me just just one more time God just one more time can I tell you something one more prayer will work today if you'll pray it what you need today you're living in defeat right now I understand that you know what you need today one more prayer you brought a lot of Shame on to Israel Samson you know what you need today Samson I just need one more prayer the Bible said in verse 30 and Samson said let me die with the Philistines and he bowed himself with all his might and the house fell upon the Lords and upon all the people that were therein so the dead which he slew at his death were more than he slew in his life than his Brethren and all of his house of his father came down and took him and brought him up and buried him between Zora and astral in the burying place of Manoa his father and he judged Israel 20 years did that last verse sound a little familiar they buried him at the same place that God began to move on him at the same place that the Holy Ghost began to move on him is where they buried him because he would not have brought those massive pillars of that Coliseum down in his natural strength he was not his natural strength as he stood between those those those marble pillars that the house stood on and he began to push out with all of his might it wasn't his might you know what it was it was the Holy Ghost that gave him the strength it was the Holy Ghost that pushed them out and he killed more in his death than he did in all of his life don't get your mind on shame today because sandwiched in between shame can be the holy ghost moving shame but the holy ghost moving that's what you need sandwiched in between what you need to put on your shame today is the Holy Ghost and Samson brother Hammond Samson when they wrote the book of Hebrews and they wrote about men like Abraham and Noah and David and they wrote about all these men brother Poole they wrote about Samson and they said they didn't write they wrote about him being having the strength that he did can I tell you today the Holy Ghost wants to eradicate your shame the Holy Ghost wants to eradicate your suffering today there's somebody here today under the sound of my voice and you are suffering you've not laughed in a long time you've not felt good about life in a long time you count the days down you're just merely you're not living and you we're communicating right now you really we're communicating right now you you I'm not living I'm just existing I've got a heartbeat and I'm breathing I'm just existing can I tell you what you need today you need to open up your heart and you need to let Pentecost come in you need to let the spirit of God come in it's not in anything you're going to drink it's not in anything you're going to shoot in your veins it's not in a man or a woman you're going to meet what you need to turn your life around today come on now we need the baptism of the Holy Ghost Pentecost has come oh love him today Pentecost has come on give him praise in this house today you don't have to suffer another day you don't have to be an Agony another day seems like my stories from the Old Testament today all have to do with defeat but mingled in them is the power of the Holy Ghost in Zechariah Chapter 4 Verse number 1 Israel had been horribly defeated and Israel was trying to rebuild it was trying to rebuild now follow this now do you know that once you've had something glorious and by your own choosing and by your own decisions you step away and the enemy comes back in and he destroys everything you had built up and when God gives you mercy of restoration and you start rebuilding again do you know that a voice of discouragement is going to be in your mind what you once had what you once enjoyed and you can't unring a wrong Bell all right that's not in the Bible but you can't unring a wrong Bell and if the enemy can he would paralyze you to just spend your life out regretting why you don't have now what you had back then but God says Israel I want you to be in to rebuild the Temple you had a glorious Temple he had a glorious Temple but because of your sin I allowed that Temple to be destroyed but there's a foundation there and I want you to begin to build again on that foundation and as they were beginning to build again on that Foundation the voices begin to say look what we once had now follow this in Ezekiel chapter 4 verse 1. and the angel that talked with me came again and waked me as a man that is awakened out of his sleep and he said unto me what see us thou what do you see and I looked and behold a Candlestick all of gold and a bowl up on the top of it and his seven lamps thereon and seven pipes to the seven lamps which are up on the top thereof and two olive trees by it the one on the right side of the bowl and the other on the left side now you've got to understand that Candlestick was in the Tabernacle and that Candlestick is fueled by olive oil it is fueled by olive oil and olive oil is taken from olive trees so God gave Ezekiel a vision of the candlesticks and on top of the of the of the candlesticks were bowls or containers of oil but beside the container was the olive trees or the source of the oil and so he looks verse number four so I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me saying what are these in other words he said what is this what are these all right and and verse four so I answered and spake to the angel that talked to me saying saying what are these my Lord then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me knowest thou not what these be and I said no my Lord then he answered and spake unto me saying this is the word of the Lord undeserubbable now the word zerubbable means it's two meanings here brought out Babel confusion this man he said this is the word of the Lord on somebody that is brought out a confusion brought out of confusion this is the word of the Lord unto zerubbabel saying not by might look at verse 6 now not by might nor by power but by my spirit saith the Lord of hosts who art thou old great Mountain before zerubba Bell Thou shalt become a plane and he shall bring forth The Headstone thereof with shouting saying Grace Grace unto it moreover the word of the Lord came to me saying the hands of zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house his hands shall also finish it and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you for who hath despised the day of small things they shall rejoice and shall see the plummet in the hand of zerubbabel with with these seven they are the eyes of the Lord which run true and fro through the whole earth now here's the whole thing zerubbaba is struggling because he's rebuilding and it doesn't look like it used to look like and God said let me give you a vision candlesticks oil and the source of that oil is the olive trees and then he says do you know what this means and zerubel said no I don't know what it means he said you're going to do it you're going to rebuild this right here not by your your might and not by your power but by my spirit saith the Lord of the hosts and when you get God's spirit in your life you're going to turn around to the mountain of regret and the mountain of guilt and shame and you're going to say who are you great Mountain to rob me of my joy you're going to turn on your heels to yesterday and you're going to say I've now got the Holy Ghost I've now got the spirit of God I'm not where I used to be I am zuru brought out of confusion I am not what I used to be I have the Holy Ghost today aren't you thankful this morning that you have the Holy oh you need it oh we need it today we need the precious gift of the Holy Ghost well let me travel on let me travel on this morning in the book of haggai chapter 2. verse number four haggai chapter 2 and verse number four same story just written by the prophet haggai he says God speaks to Hagee eye the prophet and zeroville he says yet now be strong oh it's a real Bell saith the Lord and be strong o Joshua son of Jose the high priest and be strong all you people of Israel saith the Lord and work for I Am with You saith the Lord of hosts I'm going to read that next verse in just a second but I want to tell the church something if there's ever been a message we need today it's a message of be strong be strong don't be weak be strong it's not a day to quit it's a day to keep on going be strong we're doing a good work keep coming to the house of God keep reading your Bible keep keep getting up and praying keep trying to do what you can do for God don't get weak don't give up because you'll never finish if you give up you'll never complete what God's assignment is for your life if you give up you got to keep going I want to say to the church today don't give up be strong we're doing a good work we're doing a good work but here is verse number five according to the word that I coveted with them with you when you came out of Egypt so my spirit remaineth among you fear ye not let me tell you God's spirit isn't Tethered to apparent success God's spirit isn't Tethered to a parent success it is simply God's spirit and what he was telling zerubbabel he was saying I know things don't look like they used to look like but you remember a thousand or so years ago when I brought Israel out of bondage do you remember all the plagues do you remember how I destroyed Pharaoh's Army do you remember how I showed my my strong arm do you remember how I split Red Seas and Rain bread down from heaven and shot water out of a rock do you remember all of that do you remember for 40 years your shoes never wore out do you remember for 40 years your garments never wore out how I kept the pillar of Fire by day and the pillar uh the pillar of Fire by night and the pillar of cloud but do you remember all that yeah but look it out look at what I'm in right now see some of us today cannot get over the past success of our life because now we're not living at that place of that past success but I have come as a Holy Ghost preacher today on the day of Pentecost to tell you Pentecost has come and God is the same with us today as he was the day that you receive the Holy Ghost the day or the night that you felt God's power for the first time he's still real today some of you is over 50 years ago and some of you is over 50 days ago but he's just as real right now as he was way back then he's just as weird oh lift your hands and give him praise right now he's just as real he's just as real today he's just as real give him some praise right now just just give him some praise now I'm going to take the remainder of my sermon today because that was the Old Testament so what's the difference between people in the Old Testament people in the New Testament a big difference in the Old Testament the Holy Ghost was with them but in the New Testament the Holy Ghost is in US it's a big difference the Old Testament Samson had the Holy Ghost with him the Old Testament they had Ezekiel had the Holy Ghost with him but the New Testament we have the Holy Ghost in US in US and the reason we have the Holy Ghost in US that God came to this earth in the form of a man to be a perfect sacrifice to remove out of the way an obstacle and that obstacle s i n sin it's a killer sin born in sin it's a killer sin turns God's face away from us sin blocks our way to get to God sins that the carpenter pollutes our mind our minds get blinded to the real cure our minds our minds get blinded to the real cure sin but our mission is to tell men and women today about Jesus Christ how did he came suffered bled and died on a cross to demonstrate his love to us oh how God loves us see nobody cares about me oh yes I can tell you God cares about you today well where is God at the end well you've got to get sin out of the way you got to get sin out of the way and on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost filled the hundred and twenty and Peter stood up and began to preach what did he preach the only salvation message the only salvation message the only way that can take sin out of your life the only way to keep you and I from going to a devil's hell of Destruction the only way you can't even be saved by being a good moral man you can you can live as good a moral life as you can but it still won't save you the only way you can be saved today is to hear the message Peter preached the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and when Peter preached the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Bible says in Acts 2 37. that the Sinners were pricked in their heart they were Pricks stabbed oh we have crucified our only hope at that moment of being stabbed in their heart they begin to believe we have crucified our only hope they begin to believe Upon Jesus Christ we crucified him and they cried out men and Brethren with stabbed the hearts men and Brethren they cried out to Peter men and Brethren what shall we do what are we going to do to correct our mistake what are we going to do and Peter uttered those words then Peter said unto them repent change your mind change the way that you've used Jesus Christ change the way that you've used sinned if we could only use sin the way that he wants us to it's a cancer it's a disease it will listen to me today it will never bring you Joy there is no joy without Jesus he is our creator I know this is plain today but Pentecost is plain there's no joy without Jesus when God made man he made man with an empty Hollow Place in his heart and when God breathed into man God breathed into that empty place and man felt complete because God was on the inside of him but when man sinned in the garden he lost that God part of him and people spend all of their lives trying to feel that void that emptiness if I can make more money if I could be married and be happy if this would just happen and they try to feel it and they never become happy you know why the only way you can have that Joy is to allow Jesus Christ to come in just say to him God forgive me of my sins God I changed my mind this morning I'm going to live for you I'm going to serve you God forgive me of my sins oh he's no respecter of persons you don't have to begging you don't given under heaven whereby we must be saved there's something about faith in that name the name's not a magical one that you say it you've got to have faith in that name for God hath highly exalted him and given him a name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee would bow and every tongue would confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father can I tell can I tell you what happens at repentance let's say you've worked out in the yard all day long let's say you you let's say that you've worked all day long you have sweated your right guards done went you get you get a bar soap and a washcloth don't you guys didn't say washcloth and you suds all up you get some shampoo in your hair it all sudsed up you get all sudged up under the arms get all sudged up then you turn the water off don't you you step out you go ahead and get that you still all Suds nut and get that shirt on you put that shirt on put your clothes back on you say no we don't get back under that water right and I rinse all off right and you can see all that stuff going down the drain right then I get out and I draw off and I don't go put them old work clothes back on sister Ethan I put some fresh new clothes on so okay I ain't following you this morning I'm gonna say it's like this when you repent you get all sudged up you bring that dirt to the surface of your life you start telling God you're sorry for the way you're living you start telling God if you know what you've done wrong when I first came to God I had the mentality I had to tell him everything and I would go back Weeks Later say God I forgot this time I stole this God I forgot that time I lied to that one and finally somebody just told me he said it just covered you all just just you've done so many sins you can't but you do you do repent of your sins and if you know what you're doing you need to rip that brings it to the surface but after he brings it to the surface I'm not going to put I'm not going to put my old clothes back on I'm going to put the new clothes back on I'm gonna go up here and get baptized in water for the remission of my sin not join in a church nowhere in the Bible does it say baptism joins you to the church I'm being baptized the way the Bible says for the remission removal of my sins and when those sins are come washed away you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost I step out and God gives me those brand new clothes he fills me with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and he gives me a sign a small new Language sign that I've been filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost because I'm going to become a new man now that's what changes our life it's not Church perfect Church attendance it's not just oh I'm going to refrain from sin long enough and I'm going to beat it with my self-will you will never beat sin with your self-will you've got to have the Holy Ghost it's going to be the baptism and the book of Acts musicians would you come and the book of Acts has several several recorded events of people receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost several recorded events of people receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts chapter 8 is a beautiful story of the Samaritans because the Samaritans had been Bewitched the Bible says by a man named Simon the Sorcerer the sorcerer now this this word Bewitched and sorcery has the root word Pharmaceutical it is commonly believed Simon was one of the first drug dealers he had learned a powdery concoction that he would mix up and give to the people he would get them high and out of their minds Simon became very wealthy with this became very wealthy and by the looks of Acts chapter 8 they had became very sickly by this but God sent a holy ghost preacher by the name of Philip down to Samaria and Philip in the midst of O Simon's clients Philip began to preach the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you know what them Samaritans did they believed Philip's word they repented of their sins and they were baptized in Jesus name sometime later Peter and John came down and laid their hands on them and they received the gift of the Holy Ghost can I tell anybody today if you're in bondage to something that's destroying your life and boy there's a plethora of things that people can be in bondage to alcohol illegal drugs legal drugs pornography materialistic View they can all be in bondage to these things can I tell you what you need today to start you you need the Holy Ghost if God would give Simon's clients the baptism of the Holy Ghost I know he'll give it to you today you need the Holy Ghost you need the Holy Ghost to overcome that Addiction in your life you need the spirit of God and I'm not just going to tell you believe in a higher power it's not rubbing a rock it's not gazing up into the heavens his name is Jesus Christ today and whatever your bondage is this morning Pentecost has come and you can be set free oh oh Acts chapter 10 and Acts chapter 12 I'll pull them together you say well I'm not addicted I'm not I don't have any of those habits you mentioned I am a religious person I am very religious one lady said one time she's she said I go to church religiously I said oh do you she said I go to church religiously said I go every Christmas and Easter I said well I be religiously then I guess it would be I'm a religious religious I know I know what I have Cornelius was a religious man Cornelius prayed and gave alms but he didn't have the Holy Ghost and one day while he was down praying God sent him an angel and the angel said Cornelius your prayers and arms have come up before God for a memorial you see God sees your good works he sees what you're doing send down to Joppa and get a man by the name of Simon Peter he's going to come up and when he comes up here he's going to tell you words we're about you and your house can be saved Cornelius sent down the road to get Simon Peter and when Simon Peter came what'd he preach the death the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and as he was preaching the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Holy Ghost Pentecost has come fell on Cornelius and all of his family and as he spake these words the Holy Ghost spelled on all them which heard the word and they are the circumcision was astonished because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God then answered Peter can any man forbid water that these should not be baptized which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we and he commanded them to be baptized so you know the Holy Ghost is just not for people that might be addicted the Holy Ghost is for religious people and I close as you're standing I close with this the 19th Chapter of the book of Acts Paul comes down and finds certain of John the Baptist disciples now these are people that they had heard about Jesus John the Baptist disciples and he said unto them listen to this now in Acts chapter 19. he said have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe have you received it since you believed and they said brother Paul we have not heard so much whether there be any Holy Ghost what are you talking about he said what am I talking about how are you baptized they said John baptized us he said that's it there's a new dispensation John was under the law this is the church age John baptized you and when he baptized you to show you had repented he told you that you were to look to him that was to come that is Jesus Christ when they heard this they were baptized Acts 19 in the name of Jesus Christ and Paul laid his hands upon them and they began to speak with tongues and prophesy Church Pentecost has come whether you're somebody trying to get free from an from an addiction or you're a a person that just simply hasn't heard about the Holy Ghost or somebody hasn't told you it's here this morning and it's as close as our repentance of sins in our lives
