thank you thank you great people for coming out Sunday after Sunday to hear the word of God and I want to say thank you thank you to all the guests that are here the returning guests it's a indeed and honor it's good to have brother our snitch sorted brother Eriksson back from a trip to Hong Kong it's so good to have been back before I read my text this morning I want to tell you a little bit about how I feel in my spirit today as a minister of the gospel there are times that I feel like I'm I'm in a fight and in a race at the same time in a fight and we are in a fight we are in a fight every every man that comes up here behind this pulpit ought to feel like he's in a fight he's in a fight for the souls of lost humanity he's in a fight and he's trying for a few moments few minutes he's trying to somehow much like the Air Force the Air Force will come over and they're able to have a vantage point that the men on the ground don't have the Air Force will come over and in attack and give a little bit of bleed way so the men on the ground can make some advancement and I feel like we're in a fight we are in a fight today with a spiritual force that is absolutely opposed to what's going on in this room the devil does not want a truce with the church the devil is the master of all misery he's the master of all misery he is the killer of every good thing that God wants to have so there is a there is a fight that I feel to somehow battle with the powers that be from but for a few moments maybe your eyes can be open and then there's a race that's going on there's a race I'm in a battle I feel that I'm in a battle and and in a race that's going on because we know not the moment that a soul will cease Thalia we know not the time of any of our departures we know not when it's going to be our time and we know not when the Lord is going to sound the trumpet and time will be no more so you understand that that I'm gonna I feel like I'm gonna fight for the souls of people and then at the same time I've got one hand on a sword and another hand on a wall on a clock because I want us to be touched today I want us to be touched if you have your Bibles we would stand with me Luke chapter 2 and verse number 34 it was the famous Charles Spurgeon that said these words he said I fear the day when prophets will no longer be in the pulpit I fear the day when we will take our profits out of the pulpit and replace them with circus clowns to keep us entertained for a few moments I want to be that prophet this morning and Simeon blessed them and said unto Mary his mother behold this child speaking of Jesus is set for the fall and the rising again of many in Israel and for a sign which shall be spoken against yey-hey sword if I say a sword a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed turn over to Matthew chapter 10 and verse number 34 we need you sweet Jesus today Simeon said that the Christ child will be likened to a sword thirty years later that baby spoke for himself jesus said think not that I have come to send peace on earth I came not to send peace but a sword for I am come to set a man at variance against his father and the daughter against her mother and the daughter in law against her mother-in-law and a man's enemies are foes shall be they of his own household he that loveth father and mother more than me is not worthy of me he didn't let a son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me and he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me is not worthy of me he that findeth his life shall lose it and he that lose with his life from my sake shall find it for just a few moments today fighting and watching the clock I want a minister on the subject of responding to our Redeemer responding to our Redeemer father I love you this morning father I want to respond to you today in the proper way father I want this church every man woman boy and girl under the sound of my voice and those watching today by way of the World Wide Web god I want there to be such a response that God not only you you do not control our response our response is our freewheel but God I'm asking Lord you would help me to be able to articulate today and we all know at the end of this message we need to respond to our Redeemer Jesus name I need your help give the Lord a hand to praise before you see you responding to our Redeemer we are blessed today we are abundantly blessed today with opportunities to be saved we as no other generation have more at our fingertips to aid us in the way of God than any generation that has ever lived since the birth of the church Paul in the book of Hebrews somehow saw this and wrote Hebrews two and three when he said how shall we escape how shall we escape if we neglect he didn't just say a salvation did he Church he didn't say of salvation he said so great of a salvation we understand today when we read these two verses of Scripture that obviously he wasn't the cuddly little baby in the manger and obviously he wasn't the faraway looking beatitude poem speaking Messiah the Prophet said to Mary and Joseph as they hold the baby some have said he was thirty-three days old when Simeon spoke the words and said Mary I want you to know this baby is like a sword this baby is like a sword and this baby is going to pierce hearts so that the thoughts of many people will be revealed we understand Jesus in his ministry came and it doesn't even sound like him when he said don't think don't think that I have come to bring peace to the earth I came not to bring peace but I came with the sword I came and when this sword begins to pierce people and people begin to have the proper response to this sword this sword will separate people this sword when a person turns their life over to God you got to get ready it's not if there will be separation there will be separation Jesus said that we had to love him to such a high level of course he is not contradicting the Bible because he taught that we were to honor our father and our mother when he said what but when it comes to the sword when it comes to what I can do for you and have done for you he said that you have to love me more than your father or you're not worthy of me and I know this is a hard word this morning I know I know that probably and nobody's going to stand for a while I understand that but this is the Bible and we can't get all huffy papi over acts 2:38 look at what Jesus said and said well I don't know about that he said that you have to love me more than your mother or your father or you're not worthy of me he's not saying you don't love your mother and father he is saved at the level that you love me has to be above that that if that mother or that father would try to have an effect upon the way that you love me your love for me Trump's the love for your mother and your father he said when I come through I'm going to set people at variance against each other when the sword begins to pierce people's hearts and I begin to enter their hearts it's going to cause families to even be at odds with one another he's talking about our response to him we understand and I stumbled upon this is I have been teaching all the major doctrines of the Bible and last week we talked about water being the and water baptism being something that God would use but in Acts chapter 2 verse 36 is the response because there must be a response in order for the gospel to be effective and as a matter of fact there is a response there is a response there will be every one of us today every one of us today will give a response to the message nobody's left out the Bible says that when his word goes out that his word never returns back to him without a response it never comes back to him without a response now obviously today the the fight is that I want every person to respond in the right way because if we respond in the right way we're on the path to a relationship with Jesus Christ that will bring more joy to your life than ever before Peter had preached the Holy Ghost and had fallen for 39 for 35 verses Peter preached and on the 36 let all the house of Israel know assuredly without any doubt that that same God that God hath made that same Jesus whom you have crucified both Lord and Christ remember the sword now remember the sword now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart and there had to be a response coming and hearing the Word of God is not going to make you feel like you've heard some great oratory that knows how to give you a lot of poetry and to cause you to have a fuzzy soft warm feeling I submit to you today that when we hear the word of God and our flesh that is between us and the Spirit of God it is more like the piercing of a sword it was Harriet Tubman was that woman that led many to freedom during slavery many times Harriet would be being hunted down and she would fall into a trance and in the trance she would see how to escape from the hunting dogs and from the slave master she would see how to go down a creek she would have a vision or a trance and she would see and years later someone asked her Harriet what does it feel like Harriet when God speaks to you what does it feel like when God speaks to you and she simply said it feels like someone has smacked me in the face it stings can I tell you God's been trying to speak to me on several occasions but I was waiting for a Hallmark card to come in the mail this smelled like heavenly incense I was waiting on there to be a soft word to come to me you know many occasions God was trying to speak to speak to me but it felt like someone had smacked me across the face I say to us today why don't we allow God to speak to us today it may be the piercing in our flesh but let's let God speak to us this morning they were pricked in their heart you know the rest of the story God not only deals with those that have listened to the message but God's at work at those that are fighting against him for saul had fought against the way saul had been the chief persecutor of the christians but in Acts chapter 9 verse number 3 as he journeyed he came near Damascus and suddenly there shine round about him alight from heaven and he fell to the earth and he heard a voice saying unto Him Saul Saul why persecutest thou me now follow along closely and he said who art thou Lord and the Lord said I am Jesus whom thou persecute us it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks in other words it wasn't necessarily what happened on that day but this word here it's hard for you to kick against the pricks God was saying I've been pricking you for some time I've been freaking you up probably I can add this without doing harm to the scripture but as Jung saw held the coats of those that stone Steven thinking he was doing God a favor of erasing this Jesus sick from the face of the earth you can't tell me as he held a coat there wasn't pricking saw pricking saw pricking saw until finally he just says to him so you're fighting against the pricks and so gave that response just like they did on the day of Pentecost men and brethren what shall we do that was the response you see a response to the Word of God always calls for action because it is insane to believe that your life will ever change without a change of behavior men and brethren what shall we do saw trembling said Lord what will you have me to do it seems like as we trace the book of Acts church that we find a principal preaching response preaching response preaching response in acts 4 and 1 and as they spake into the spake unto the people the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came it to them and being grieved that they taught the people and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead they laid hands upon them why was x4 there why would you come and lay hands on Peter and John because Peter and John had been used for the healing of the crippled man at the gate called beautiful and Peter and John began to preach and as they preached it ended with the response please note with me it's always preaching response preaching response acts 4 and 32 the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and have one soul and neither said any of them that all of the things which he possessed was his own but they had all things common with great power gave the Apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them neither was there any among them that lacked for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them and brought the prices of them that the things that were sold and laid them down at the Apostles feet distribution was made unto every man according as he had and Josie's who is by who by the Apostles was surnamed Barnabas which is being interpreted the son of consolation of Levi of the country of Cyprus having land sold it and brought the money and laid it at the feet of the Apostles that's the last verse in chapter 4 what a response what a response that the early church had and because the church as a whole had the right response it seems to unfeathered and fetter the hands of the Apostles it seems like that their response in a positive way led to more power in the preaching of the Apostles remember they responded in a positive way which said that great grace was upon the Apostles and many signs and wonders were done it was giving was response nobody believed that they that they were stingy they they wanted to see the gospel go forth that was a response I believe this building will stand for decades to come and be a witness that this is a response of God's people to the call of missions giving was a response but notice that's chapter 5 and verse number 1 begins and it says but now I'm not going to what's showing here is the response every but one is going to give a response everyone's can give giving a response but it says but now the word says him to say I know how they responded I know how they responded but a certain man named Ananias with his wife Sapphira his wife sold the possession and we don't really have to we're very well versed with that they came they lied they they were not fully converted they wanted to be in the church but not pay the price to be in the church they wanted to look like the church but not have the relationship with God and so God took the life of Ananias and Sapphira because you've got a people living and prospering and you've got two fresh dug graves all because of the way they responded the sword of God will either bring life to us and reveal to us that we need to change the sword will either reveal to you and I this morning there's places in our life we need to change well the sword will reveal to us a stubborn King like spirit that says I'm not going to change the sword we'll do surgery to cut the cancer of sin out of us well the sword will open us up for air to come in and the cancer will spread we all know of Paul in Acts chapter 19 who went laid his hands on twelve men and asked them the question have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed we not heard women me any Holy Ghost how are you baptized we know that story we can about quote those scriptures when they heard this they were baptized all 12 of them got in the water and got baptized in Jesus name all twelve of them received the gift of the Holy Ghost did we tell that story but what we need to do brother Nolan is that we need to go on to verse number 8 of chapter 19 because we like that response but verse number 8 and he went into the synagogue and spake boldly for the space of three months disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God but when divers that's many were hardened and believe not but spake evil of that way before the multitude he departed from them he departed from them and separated and separated the disciples disputing daily in the school of winter Aeneas isn't that amazing this same man that has power because sometimes we believe the results is all in the preachers hands how in the world can a Paul walk in and ask some men have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe easy conversation we haven't heard and Paul gives them a little five-minute bible study and twelve of them get baptized in Jesus name and twelve of them receive the gift of the Holy Ghost but he turns around way I see it he talked that Bible study in about five minutes but he turns around and spends three months somewhere and three months of the same Apostle Paul and when we hang the Sunday school attendance board up on the church he said and many and many divers was hardened and believed not was it's Paul that was Paul's lack of prayer was it's Paul's lack of study was that the church wasn't praying like it should was it somebody in the church wasn't being what they should be no it was simply every man possesses his own response to the gospel and I pray to God this morning that we respond to him in the positive way of yes Lord yes Lord yes I'm gonna tell you you can be an allows the Apostolic Church you can be in a prayerless Apostolic Church but if you'll give the right response God can give you power to turn that whole church around because the power that you have today is stop the stop playing the blame game let's stop blaming the condition of our souls upon somebody else people can do a lot of things to you that can do a lot of hurtful things to you but there's one thing they cannot do to you is to control how you will respond Victor Franco a man a doctor who is incarcerated by the Germans and taken to a concentration camp a man that had wealth untold watched them rip rings off of his fingers and off of his wife's fingers he watched as his wife was humiliated and her clothes ripped from her from by the German Nazis he watched as they did every demeaning thing trying to break his will but he writes he writes there's one thing you cannot control Hitler cannot control it the SS can control it and that is the way that I respond to you in the Manton made it out and wrote a book can I tell you today your daddy may have left you your mama made you Sonia your husband your wife may run off and leave you your kids may never come back and say thank you a preacher that baptized you may fall into sin a church may walk away from you but you have the power this morning just saying though you slay me yet will I serve you though you slay me God is good god is good god is good god is good god is good I believe that I'll see the Lord in the lane or dive even prayed about what I'm about to say right now but someone said some very untrue unkind things about me and put it on social media very untrue and unkind but please listen to your pastor today don't ever don't you ever respond to anybody on social media you see that they say something I'm kind about me or this church please don't respond please don't respond respond like this and I'm not trying to tell you I'm some great spiritual guru because I'm not but I do get things right every now and then my wife had her was driving my wife header earpods in and i've been told about the untrue unkind things you know what once everything I do do some right things I started praying for him I started asking God to bless them I went I wouldn't I wouldn't I promised you I was sincerely asking God to bless them I was sincerely asking God to touch them and blessed and opened their eyes and bless them in such a way that they would see the goodness of the hand of the Lord and I'm praying driving my wife took her earPod out and she said hey what were you saying were you doing some praying she said who you praying for I said dude people said their mug good things about us that's who I'm praying for you see I don't respond you know I can get on there and be a coward behind a keyboard if I want to but you know what that reveals to a lost and dying world that's looking to of you Abraham Lincoln said never argue with a fool in public lest someone who doesn't know you walks by you can't tell the difference and every now and then I get some right because I feel that sting that sour poison begin to enter my tongue and enter my spirit but if somehow we can respond when they slap us we can bless them when they hit us on one face let's turn the other cheek when they make us walk a mile let's walk two miles it's time that we start responding to our critics in the right way because our critics need God I've been hurt by people listen to me now I've been hurt my people you've been hurt by people but those people can you answer this today as bad as they've hurt you as bad as you have a you have felt the hurt of the sting would you want to see them drop into a devil's hell no would you want to see them burn forever would you visualize them screaming help help me help me I don't nobody's ever said anything in my life then I wanted somebody to go to hell you see if you want people to go to hell you are no different than a sinner person that easily drops the word you go to hell I don't know anybody that I would want to see go to hell can I tell you pastor so so since I'm about me pastor so so happened to me I couldn't sleep I couldn't sleep all I couldn't sleep last night I couldn't make it to church Sunday more please forgive me I was just up all night long I believe I'd have been up on that long to Susie I believe I'd have been up all night long if I have responded to it in the right way I'm not trying to know I'm no spiritual guru from please hang around me long enough you'll know you know you have no spiritual guru but I did something right last night from when the poison got on my tongue when the sphere the sword began to pierce my side instead of retaliating instead of thinking of ugly words I can in my would've been true to but that's beside the point I could I could have said back in in that direction I chose just to say God could she touch them God would you move upon them God would you open their eyes God would you and you know what I went home I went home and got in bed and I slept like a baby last night had my grandchild come over this morning ice even a little late to get here this morning can I tell you it will respond right we can enjoy the fruit of the land if we can respond right we could have a joy of the Lord if we can respond oh my god preaching say it with me preaching response preaching response how about how about these three sections right here here here of people give a response not it's wrong what you're saying but it's not the time the sad thing is we never read where Felix ever called for him again the same Paul in acts 26 28 preached to a man by the name of King Agrippa and in acts 28 or excuse me acts 26 28 here was a Griffis Agrippa said unto Paul almost thou persuade us to me to be a Christian some people come to church and they almost go to the altar if you have sung that song one more time I would have come I almost can I tell you today our response needs to be more than almost our response need to be all together and that's what Paul that's what Paul told I have several scriptures I could tell you Paul and the peoples can I tell you the time you and I will not always be in control like we are right now you and I will not always be in control of our it's not always going to be you see whether I spend eternity in heaven or eternity in hell has to do with my response but I'm not always going to be in control Bible tells us and I'll spend the rest of my message on this in Daniel chapter 2 Nebuchadnezzar has a dream he is so troubled at this dream this wicked King he is so troubled at this dream when he wakes up he has all these Sorcerer's magicians all of these false prophets who say they can get in touch with the gods and he comes to them and he says in Daniel 2 I am troubled I had a dream and it still troubled me and I want you to tell me what the dream means and they said what did you dream and he said I can't remember I can't remember what I dream you're asking me you're asking us to not only tell you an interpretation but to tell us what you dream there's no one that can do that o King and he said if you can't do it I will cut your heads off if you can't do it I will go down and take your house and make it a dunghill I will turn your house into a place that the city brings their body waste and throws it in the hole if you can't tell me I'll order the executioner to take your head and they went and told Daniel and Daniel and meshach Shadrach could have been to go went into prayer and God showed God showed Daniel would you give me my would you give me what God showed on the screen God showed Daniel this is what the King dreamed he dreamed of a great statue a great image that had a head of solid gold it had a breast of silver his thighs were of brass his legs were of iron his feet was mingled between iron and potters clay and then he said I saw a rock cut out of the mountain made without hands and that rock came and smoked that image upon its weakest place and that was the feat daniel said i saw the image crash to the ground and it broke into pieces when he crashed and it became powder and the wind blew and carried it away as he would the chaff but he said I noticed the stone that came smooth a--they he said I noticed that the stone began to increase until the stone became a mountain and then a stone dominated the whole world this is nothing than the end of times when we are a part of the kingdom of God there's coming a day when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess there's coming a day that Washington will not be in power there's coming a day when kingdoms of this world will not be in power you hear me today there's coming a day that the Lord Jesus Christ is going to come back to this earth because the Babylonian Kingdom has already come and gone the person kingdom has already come and gone the Greece guru Greeson kingdom has come and gone the Roman Empire has come and gone would you please notice the first four kingdoms are one kingdom it's a babylon kingdom it's a person Tina it's a Grecian kingdom it's a Roman kingdom would you also notice with me that as each Kingdom Falls the next Kingdom is inferior in the material it is gold it is silver it is brass it is iron because there was a day when it wasn't only a Babylonian Kingdom and only a person kingdom and only a Grecian kingdom and only a Roman Kingdom but we're living in a day that were part of the feet and the toes that are mingled with iron and and dirt and there's not mixing we're trying to find a solution to world peace there's not one we're trying to find a solution to blend together cultures in the world but I got news for you clay and iron cannot mix there's going to be wars and rumors of wars until the day that that stone cut out of the mountain CHUM's rollin down he's gonna set up his kingdom he is Lord of lords he is king of kings I don't know that you write me off as an old fogey but I wanna be ready on that day to trail here I wish somebody would magnify the Lord I wish you would magnify the Lord oh Lord I want to be in that number when they crown you King of Kings he said O king your kingdoms coming down it's all through scripture the kingdom of God has been likened to a stone in Genesis 49 in 24 prophesying of Joseph who was a type of Jesus Christ but his bow abode his friend and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Almighty God of Jacob from thence is the shepherd the stone of Israel why didn't they call Joseph a stone because he was a type of Jesus Jesus was a stone Joseph was a type of Jesus how is that he his brothers came to him Genesis 42 8 and Joseph knew his brethren but they knew him not sales like John 1:11 Jesus came unto his own and his own not the church has always been told that we have a stone we have a stone the psalmist said in Psalms 118 21 through 23 I will praise thee for thou has heard me and art become my salvation what you thankful today that he has heard us the stone which the builders refused is to be his become the head stone of the corner this is the Lord's doing it is it is marvelous in our eyes to see the response he's a stone but he's a Restonic an play out a different role if we receive him he becomes a stone of which our faith is built upon if we receive him not he is the stone that we refused can I tell you the church is not perfect as long as the church as people it will cease to be perfect but there's one thing about the church is what Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 I say unto you that upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it pavulon you're not in control persia you're not in control oh god that i can preach to our students today and wake you up as you walk the halls of your universities and colleges and professors that professing themselves wise they become fools could I so preach to you today not to get your mind upon education to the fact that you begin to doubt the preaching of the word of God every day one day every ounce town one day every melon Mary Oh era one day every Donald Trump every man ship pollution one day they're gonna bow oh Jesus I pray that we respond musicians would you turn you're in control now but there's coming a day when the stones coming back and the stone is gonna split the eastern sky they news I don't know how the rapture of the church will be reported did y'all hear what I said please do that I've really spent some time in prayer this message I don't know how the rapture the church will be reported but sister boy I wonder if there'll be enough missing to even be noticed it's the thought I mean the churches that I've traveled throughout the United States battle the same thing we battle a very poor come on let's just be family today anymore it's getting hard to get even church people to come up around the order we expect sinners to come running in bawling and screaming we we pray for our children to come and and all this but many times it's begging and pulling would you with such a long walk down there God knows what's in my heart well that's that's that's true but you don't pull up at Walmart and get what you need for your self that way gotta walk in there it's greater Walmart it's a greater one more some call me a fanatic about some call me a fanatic about this they call me a fanatic and I probably am I probably him I still believe if you're too sick to go to church on Sunday you ought to be too sick to go to work on Monday we tell our self please please up please understand today please please understand I can't respond for you so I've never been I have never been unless god Li Jie unless God leads you unless God leads you I've never been a big promoter of going back and trying to get people to come to the altar I'm not saying it's not happening I'm not saying God hasn't led folks to go back and bring somebody but when you got to go back and get the same person time after time they got a response you got a response it's coming today revelation 6 and 12 and I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal and lo there was a great earthquake and the Sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became as blood stars of heaven fell into the earth even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs when she is shaken by mighty wind and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together and every mountain and Island were moved out of their place and the kings of the earth and great men and the rich men and the chief captains and the mighty men everybody every free man hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of his wrath is come and who shall be able to stay it's really going to happen from the wealthy to the poor from the educated to the uneducated they're going to hide themselves and say fall on us and cover us up Oh Rock is it amazing that the very thing they have fought they now ask for that to cover them up they have fought the rock they have kicked against the rock they have shunned the rock but now when judgment comes they're calling for the rock to cover them one last Scripture one last scripture Matthew 21 44 Matthew 21 44 and whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken but on whomsoever it shall fall it will grind him to powder were you at today with God were you that today with God sent a man sinner woman who are you at today with God almost brother Cartman I'm gonna get baptized one day I'm gonna getting church one day where he at sinner man I know what you're saying is right but when I have a more convenient time where are you at today saying to God I know I used to have a prayer life broke up now and I know that I used to and used to have a conscience I used to I used to I used to feel bad about what I'm doing right now where you have to nature because I'm telling you I'm racing the clock and I'm fighting the battle but I've done shot my last jail and they all stand and wait for your response what's your response today going to be sinner man sinner woman the altars wide open there's not a soul in this altar this morning why don't you step out of your Pew right now and make the greatest response you'll ever make in your life why
