if you have your bibles and would stand with me tonight and i would ask if you are physically able i do understand if by chance you are not physically able to stand i do understand but if you're physically able to stand i ask you to stand not in honor of a man but i ask you to stand in honor of the reading of god's holy word tonight is it not worthy to stand is it not worth standing for the reading the book of leviticus chapter number 7 and verse number 11 and 12. i want you to find that verse i want with one ear and one eye for you to find that verse and with the other eye and that other ear i want to give special thanks tonight and things get to going so quickly here at our church i want to give special thanks to everyone that during the month of october which is pastor appreciation month showered us with cards and gifts and phone calls and i haven't had the opportunity to publicly say to you thank you thank you for all the wonderful gifts and the cards they meant so very very much and then i want to thank the army would you say that we're with me army the army of workers for trunk and treat and it was an army of workers and it was one of the most beautiful things somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 000 people came through on a sunday night and we were able to touch those souls and i'm just looking forward to great things from trunk and treat and then trunk and treat come around once a year but we have another army of men and women that make up the staff of apostolic christian academy both our daycare six weeks to k-4 and then the school k-5 to the 12th grade is the best the best christian school amen the best christian school amen amen it's the best the best the best daycare and uh if you could just see this place of the mornings and the evenings um buzzing with activity our community comes here of the mornings and of the of the evenings we had to this year form a double line with the cars because if we did it like we did last year they ended up one day i came in and cars went all the way down the driveway out onto the road and there was three or four cars backed up on william blunt waiting we had to rearrange and have a double lane and growth is due to some tremendous men and women that work very hard five days a week and i do i do say thank you tonight leviticus chapter 7 verse number 11 and this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which he shall offer unto the lord if he offer it for a thanksgiving then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil and unleavened wafers anointed with oil and cakes mingled with oil a fine flower fried and i like that last word to that it doesn't sound very appetizing all of that but they get to that last word fried i'm all in all right i can't help how you cut that that sounds like a donut to me all right fried and that's the best one of the best parts of that verse right there fried well i want to teach a little bit from god's word tonight on one word thanksgiving thanksgiving father i love you tonight thank you for your word it's our compass god we can't be saved and we can't be changed without your word your word can find us on our darkest day your word o god can help us lord lord anoint me the next few moments that i would teach this congregation of the beauty of thanksgiving we give you praise and i will in jesus name i do ask amen you may be seated amen november the 25th of this month we as a nation will celebrate a day that we have named as thanksgiving day in 1621 the settlers and the native americans shared a harvest feast together then in 1789 our first president george washington proclaimed a day of thanksgiving at the request of congress my how things have changed and it would be abraham lincoln on october the 3rd 1863 expressing gratitude for a pivotal union army victory at gettysburg announced that the nation would celebrate an official thanksgiving day holiday on november the 26th 1863 and we as americans will celebrate this month a day that we call thanksgiving but with many holidays they seem to be lost in a lot of traditions that have nothing to do with the holiday christmas time that is a time of celebrating the birth of god in flesh has become so commercialized that many are offended when you say christmas christmas and there are those that simply want xmas it has been commercialized and i fear that even in a lot of our lives that we have lost the true meaning of what christmas ought to be about but the life of you and i as children of the most high god our day of thanksgiving is not one day out of the year but god has so designed that we as children of god should live our lives every day with the attitude of thanksgiving we've all got something to thank god for so thanksgiving began to be weaved into the fabric of the children of israel it first began as the law of a sacrifice of a peace offering if a man had trespassed against god he brought a trespass offering after he brought his trespassed offering he would bring a peace offering and if he wanted in this peace offering to add an offering of thanksgiving because any time we understand how god has forgiven us of our sins it's a time for us to offer up a sacrifice of thanksgiving he told them how to order this verse 12 how to order this sacrifice of thanksgiving it took the baking of cakes and the mingling of oil it took a lot of work for them to put this together but god knew that man may quickly forget about being forgiven if there wasn't some kind of process that he or she should go through to bring a sacrifice of thanksgiving go over with me to leviticus 29 or excuse me leviticus 22 and verse 29. let's continue to read as you see god weaving into the fabric of his people it says in verse 29 and when you will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the lord offer it at your own will offer it of your own will in other words it shouldn't be the priest intimidating you it shouldn't be anyone forcing you to offer up this gift this gift has got to originate inside of your heart it's got to be something you want to do it's got to be something on your own that that you you want to do it originates thanksgiving thanksgiving originates inside of the heart of a person when we could say this when i think about all that the lord has done for me when i think about his goodness and all he's done for me when i not we not we but when i think about his goodness and all he's done for me my soul cries out what thank god so he said now this this offering that you're going to bring you're to bring it of your own will verse 30. on the same day it shall be eaten up what do you mean the same day the same day you deem in your heart that he's worthy to be praised don't put it off don't put him off he says the same day it shall be eaten up you decide to bring a thanksgiving offering you bring it to the house of god he said the same day it's to be eaten up you shall leave none of it unto the morrow i am the lord and i've simply got at the bottom of my notes don't wait till tomorrow to be thankful don't wait for tomorrow to be thankful if you're going to be thankful do it right now do it while you have breath inside your body do it while you got your mind do it why do it do it right now or one of these days i'm going to praise the lord no do it right now don't wait till tomorrow if you're thankful for what god has done for you flat out give him some praise and do it right now don't don't wait for tomorrow i'm going to praise him right now i'm going to praise him right now now you might as well say amen to this because we're all a double l we're all guilty of this procrastination one of these days i'm going to do one of these days i'm let me tell you something the cemetery is full of good intentions there's a lot of good intentions buried out in cemeteries all over this county and i plan to let none of my good intentions be buried because while i have my breath in me i'm gonna offer my god a gift of thanksgiving well turn with me a few years later to isaiah chapter 51 and verse number one it's a few years later god has been weaving into the fabric he's been weaving into the fabric of his people about being thankful about expressing their thankfulness their gratitude to god and isaiah 51 and 1 simply says hearken to me ye that follow after righteousness ye that seek the lord look into the rock whence you were hewn and to the hole of the pit which you were digged can i tell you something that'll motivate you to praise god look where the lord has brought you from i just got to stop and praise him i can't help it look where the lord has brought you from he has brought you a mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty long way look where the lord has brought you from he said i want you to turn back and i want you to look i want you to look at the rock that you were cut out of and i want you to look at the hole that i dug you out of i want you to look at them sometimes you get a reality check when you begin to look at old friends that didn't walk on with the lord when you did you begin to look at old friends that stayed in the world and you got in the church and now years have revealed who made the right move i said years have revealed who made the right move when your pastor's wife got the holy ghost got baptized in jesus name was a basketball player at alcoa and god convicted her of their clothing that they wore to play basketball and she went in and told the coach she wasn't going to play basketball anymore not only was the coach very disappointed and upset and you know she was you know she was probably a real good player i mean she's a real good fan all right and it was some of her teammates was telling her she's wasting her life you're throwing your life away and i've got religion too and you don't have to do all that to have jesus and i've got jesus in my heart she made a decision to go on with god years later i remember standing in the mall with her one of her old basketball teammates came up and i remember the young the woman had a baby on this hip and a young child clinging to the side of her and she was pregnant and as she began to tell the story all three of these babies was a different daddy he said well you're judging no i'm not judging i'm trying to get you to see the hole that we were drawn out of and you know what the young lady told sister carpenter she said called her penny she said penny she said we all respected what you were doing she said we all wish we could have done what you've done and said we've watched your life here this is sister carpenter's hometown she was brought up in can i tell you sometimes to really be thankful just look back at some of the people that you walked on with god and they didn't walk on and see whether some of them are not even alive some of them are already in an early grave and the wages of sin and sin has taken them i'm going to tell you what i want to walk with god i'm going to praise god i know where i could i know where i would be tonight i know where i would be tonight there's something about the motivate he said i want you to look at where i brought you out of i want you to look at where i brought you out of verse 2 isaiah 51 verse 2 look unto abraham your father and unto sarah that bury you now notice this follow along real closely with this for i called him alone and blessed him and increased him look at these three phases i called him i blessed him and i increased him i called him i blessed him and i increased him say it again i called him oh don't just don't get satisfied don't be satisfied with just being called i called him i blessed him and i increased him look what the lord has done look what the lord has done with you you want to be thankful look what the lord has done with you some of you when god called you you didn't have two pennies to rub together some of you when god called you you didn't have enough money to fill up the whole gas tank with some of you when god called you you moved every time the rent was due i'm going to tell you something if you ever get so self-righteous that you well i i just died oh yeah you had some of those days you wasn't born saved and sanctified he called you he blessed you he increased you verse 3 for the lord shall comfort zion that's the church for the lord shall comfort the church he will comfort all her waste places now what's her waste places that's things that you once had that was torn down i will comfort all her waste places and he will make her wilderness like eden like the garden of eden i'll take a your waste places i'll take your wilderness and i'll give you a little space of a garden you know i think that's referring to the church i think in this whole county that we operate in this whole world that we operate in i don't know about you but i am so thankful for this little garden right here at 1331 william blunt drive i'm glad that god has given us just a little garden that we can come together on a wednesday night and we can give praise and honor to a god that brought us out of darkness and a god that brought us out of darkness and into marvelous light oh friend oh friend don't just come to the garden don't just come to the garden but come to the garden with thanksgiving let god begin to change your life because the attitude of thanksgiving is going to determine whether god goes ahead and blesses you and increases you i want to be a thankful person thank you for saving me lord thank you god you know what kind of man that i was god i thank you lord for all that you've done thanksgiving thanksgiving thank you lord for my little garden here thank you god for our garden thank you god for this little garden of aca thank you lord for this little garden that i can send my children to thank you lord thank you lord for this little garden god that i can send my grandbabies to thank you for this little garden that i can send my granddaughters to and they won't be made fun of for the way they dress and how they live thank you god for this little garden god thank you lord for this little garden here that a boy's restroom means only the boys go in thank you god for our little garden here that a girl's restroom means only the girls go in like her like i will make her wilderness like eden in her desert like the garden of the lord joy and gladness shall be found where where's the joy and gladness going to be found therein thanksgiving and the voice of melody the voice of melody what's going to be found in that thanksgiving oh god i thank you for that army of people that put that trunk and treat together and we were able to witness to our community there were there were several people put their names and addresses for a drawing to win a prize these same people are being notified and asking would they be interested in a home bible study and i'm believing god we're going to see some souls in the baptismal pool i believe god we're going to see some souls on the pew thank you lord thank you god for my garden thank you for my aca garden thank you lord for my church garden thank you lord why you know churches they're just about anymore anymore sunday sunday night with sunday we were in alabama and we preached in two different churches about 40 miles apart and sunday night or sunday evening they're actually an hour behind us here and sunday evening i was driving from decatur alabama uh down to a little town called arab alabama and and through the countryside and and it was around church time and all brother brother after all these churches was dark and i'd look big big buildings that was as dark as night nobody's having church there and and our culture y'all listen to pastor tonight our culture is having less church maine denominations are now only meeting once a week on sunday mornings they don't even meet on wednesday night for bible study and prayer meeting anymore if they if they do meet it's a it's a club that they're going to do it's it's different little things broke off i can't tell i got to just tell you i not only thank god that i've got the mind to say let's have church but i'm not alone look at this house with people in it tonight i'm not alone evidently there's a lot of people around here that's saying i'm glad we got church on wednesday night i'm glad there's a place to come to on wednesday night i'm glad and listen listen just let them close let these non-truth preaching churches close because the light's going to shine bright here on sunday night and the word's going to get out through the county ain't nobody having church and they're going to say them apostolic folks down there william blunt they're having church and they're going to come and hear the word and the lives are going to be i thank god for my garden thank you lord well go on with me to the book of jeremiah chapter number 30 is this is weaved through the bible jeremiah chapter 30 verse number 17 listen to god speak for i will restore health unto thee and i will heal thee of thy wounds saith the lord because they called thee an outcast saying this is zion whom no man seeketh after thus saith the lord behold i will bring again the captivity of jacob's tents and have mercy on his dwelling places and the city shall be builted up on her own heap and the palace shall remain after the manner therefore look at verse 19 and out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry and i will multiply them and they shall not be few and i will also glorify them and they shall not be small verse 17 started with somebody that needed to be restored verse 17 started with somebody that was receiving all kinds of discouraging remarks made about them all kinds of discouraging things no good not worth saving penitentiary bound pregnant before you're married all of this these words that were spoken but god said i chose you because these words were spoken i chose you because you had pumped into your ears that you were no good he said but i brought you to zion i brought you to the church and there i restored your health there i healed thy wounds and there i begin to re i am so thankful for that i am so thankful for what god has done for what god has done now i'm going to go ahead and tell you tonight if you're discouraged i'm going to tell you what's a game changer right now a game changer your attitude of thanksgiving church is never going to be what you want it to be until you get the attitude of thanksgiving you're never going to come out of the dilemma that you're in things are going to go from bad to worse and just now i'm not being a prophet of doom i'm just going to tell you i love you and i don't want you to stay in this place but it's going to stay there you're going to stay there until you develop a spirit of thanksgiving and then god's going to look down and god's going to start opening some doors and god's going to start making some ways and some things are going to start changing in your life all because your attitude changed well that's a lot to say and not have a scripture to back it up how about jonah jonah got a bad attitude jonah got a bad attitude about his purpose he was a prophet that should have been preaching to the lost but he began to to to decide who would be preached and who wouldn't be preached to he decided to be his own man some like some of us do he decided he'd do things his own way i don't have to go to nineveh i don't have to go there and no he didn't no he didn't but god said jonah now y'all heard it you know sometimes god wants to teach us a lesson sometimes god he's got a lesson to teach us you've heard of yale university god sent jonah to wale university say you you you don't want to go preach to them ninevites say you your own man say you got it all together okay let me just teach you something and so god had a fish to swallow him chapter 2 of jonah part of it is recorded as jonah begin to pray in the belly of that fish in jonah chapter 2 and verse number 9 if you would give me this let's look down in this belly of this fish at this prophet that said he wouldn't go but it's amazing what one day or two days or three days will do for you god's wale university he says in verse 9 but i will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving i will pay that which i have vowed salvation is of the lord it's amazing that god has to allow adverse adversity to come to some of our lives to remind us of some things we've told god some things we've told god when we were in our right mind our right spiritual mind you see why jonah's his own man calling his own shots i'm not going to nineveh i'm going to tarshish i'm my own man then god said it's fine but you're going to go through a class or two you're gonna go through a class or two to see if you'll change your mind seaweed wrapped around his head he records that he went up and down and in the depths and finally he said it's time for this to end it's time for this to end well i hope i preached so good tonight it'll cause some jonas to say it's time for this to end it's just time for this to end he said it's time for this to end i will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of what what's sure to be thankful for when you're in a fish's belly what i heard it you're alive you know some of us some of us can't be thankful when we've got health so god says well let me just take your health away and he puts you in a hospital to where you're saying lord i'm just thankful i'm still here he just thankful he's alive i thank you i thank you god god evidently i'm still alive and god i thank you that i'm alive and god if if you can if you can do anything for me god i i i will go to nineveh i will i will preach the nineveh i will pay the vow that i made i will i will pay all those val that vows that i made when i laid on my face at strong tower camp at morris hill i i will pay those vows that i made that time when the doctor's report didn't look good for me and i come to church and i got prayed for it and i said things like god if you'll help me get through this lord i'll i'll serve you god i'll go to church faithfully i'll i'll give tithe i'll give offerings god i'll do all this that's what he was saying and when he said it god said you passed you've learned enough you passed look at the next verse and the lord spake unto the fish and it vomited out joan up on the dry land boom you've learned enough you've got it you understand it now and when he did it god said all right it's over fish get upset stomach i've often said a backslidden preacher even makes a fish sick you know it just it just it just threw him up it just threw him up when are you going to pray that it's over when are you going to be thankful that you're just here tonight when is your hands going to go up on your own when are you really going to just praise god and not we're worried not wondering and not not concerned one bit of who's on this side of you and who's on that side of you not i'm not i'm not i'm not wondering what somebody's going to think of me tonight god i love you lord i praise you god lord you've been so good to me i want to give you praise tonight i promise you god can take you from the deep blue and god can spit you out on dry ground and you can get your ministry and you can get your direction but you got to start off with thanksgiving start off with thanksgiving it should start here thanksgiving should start in the house of god this tonight should just be an energizer to send you to your thursday and send you to your friday and send you to your saturday and bring you right back sunday morning to get a little bit more of this and and then you can get some more thanksgiving in you and go back out there monday and tuesday and come back here wednesday well the bible says in psalms 100 i'm gonna read the whole chapter it's just five verses psalms 100 verse number 1 make a joyful noise unto the lord all your lands serve the lord with gladness come before his presence with singing know ye that the lord he is god it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves we are his people and the sheep of his pasture hey mr and mrs prosperity don't pat yourself so hard on the back don't break your arm patting yourself on the back it was god that caused those doors to open it was god that caused that it was god to cause that man to be in the office and this person to be here and that person and let me tell you god can take it every bit away from us if we're not thankful unto him for it is he that had made us and not we ourselves enter into his gates enter into his gates with thanksgiving entering to his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name for the lord somebody shout it for the lord is his is everlasting and his truth endureth boy it's amazing what truth has to endure our culture it's amazing what the word has to endure listen there's more roadblocks to the word tonight in 2021 than there was in 1950 the culture has put so many roadblocks to the word but i'm glad that the truth is marching on glory glory hallelujah his truth is marching on if you want to be saved truth can knock the road blocks down and truth can enter into your life and truth can set you free come on give him thanks tonight come on give him thanks tonight it's thanksgiving it's thanksgiving night giving thanks right now give him praise verse 5 again for the lord is what for the lord is he is what good and he is what is how so the lord is two things here right the lord is and the lord is merciful right remember that the lord is what and the lord is psalms 23 verse 1 the lord is my shepherd i shall not want he maketh me to lie down in green pastures he leadeth me beside the still waters he restored my soul he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his namesake yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me thou preparest the table before me in the presence of mine enemies thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over surely goodness and sound familiar surely mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i will dwell in the house of the lord forever do you know god's got a god has two that's escorting you tonight god's got an escort with you on one side of you is goodness and on the other side of you is mercy had it not been for the lord none of us would be here tonight but because our faith is in jesus christ he gives us an escort to go with us and when i need some goodness goodness is right there on my side and when i need some mercy and quite often i do mercy is right hallelujah oh i think there's some watching online tonight that are on their feet in their living room giving god some glory because goodness and mercy is all around me i was going down the road the other day and i was going down the road and and and and and here come a car had lights on it flashing a little bit over in my lane and a little over in my lane and i thought man i don't see nobody here is over my lane and he had a big old sign across the top his cab said wide load wide load and i thought you ain't no wide load your little toyota pickup truck little wide road load coming through but he's about a mile down the road here come a double wide trailer down that little highway and i thought man that's why that guy was out there in the front and listen i got way over because that wide load was coming through and when i got around that wide load there was one another car behind him with the same sign on it saying wide load escort and i got to thinking about goodness and mercy goodness and mercy are our escort god is already brother naomi in our tomorrow you're concerned about the philippines what's going to happen tomorrow god's already got goodness already down there saying get out of the way devils get out of the way there's something coming through there's something coming through there there's something coming through oh don't you want to be a christian oh don't you want to be a follower of jesus christ oh i don't want to be a little playing around man coming or woman coming to church how would i be a blood-bought spirit-filled what a baptized christian because goodness and mercy get out of my way get out of his way get out of his way there's something coming through there is come on give him some praise it is essential it is essential to your salvation that you are thankful it is essential to your salvation that you are thankful you will not be saved if you are not thankful that's a lot of that's that's pretty big talk let's back it up with some scripture romans 1 18 romans 1 18 again you will not be saved it's essential for the wrath of god is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness because that which may be known of god is manifest in them for god has shown it unto them now let me teach the people he's talking about here brother mayo he's not talking about people that are in dark jungles that have never heard whoever he's talking about they know god god has revealed it verse 20. for the invisible things of god from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even his eternal power in godhead so that they are without excuse because that when they knew god do you know him do you know him because when they knew god they glorified him not as god neither were they what thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish foolish heart was dark and i'm going to tell you something it's a fearful thing to know him and not be thankful oh friend oh god it's a fearful thing it's a fearful thing to know him and not be thankful and not be thankful they became vain in their imaginations can i tell you you can know god have seen the revelation of godhead been baptized in jesus name and spoke with tongues but if you don't have a thankful spirit you become vain in your imaginations and your foolish heart is darkened it's a serious thing to know god it's a serious thing to know him and not be thankful it's a very serious thing i'm less than a man of god i'm not worth my weight in salt if i don't tell you that if i make you think you're all right by not being thankful i am not a minister of the lord jesus christ but i have got to tell you tonight it is essential that you're thankful you must work on being thankful you must understand what you're living for and who's holding you up and who's making the decisions in your life second peter chapter 2 verse 20. ii peter chapter 2 and verse 20. for if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the lord and savior jesus christ comma how many have escaped the pollutions of the world if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the not through the knowledge of the lord jesus christ of the lord and savior jesus christ they are again entangled therein and overcome the latter in is worse than the beginning what's he talking about you've been brought out of darkness you've been brought out of the world you clearly you clearly saw i don't want anything to do with the world and you've been brought out of the world but then you lacked being thankful and your mind began to cause the world to look attractive and you started getting closer to the world until you got tangled up in the world he says they are again entangled therein and overcome the latter in is worse with them than the beginning look at verse 21 for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after they have known it to turn from the holy commandment deliver them but it is happened unto them according to the true proverb the dog is turned to his own vomit again and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire said oh bro carpenter that's the oh that's that's not acceptable language for a pulpit it is because it describes a person that has been baptized filled with the holy ghost received the knowledge of the godhead but then becomes unthankful not thankful that you're here jealous because somebody got a car jealous because somebody got this in the bitter because somebody said something about you and somebody did this to you or didn't do this to you and you sat there with your arms folded during church and you're not thankful to the lord for what he's done and that unthankfulness leads you back into the world and the bible says it would be better for you to have never known oh my oh my chapter two of erinox chapter two second timothy three and one brother erickson sister erickson come please second timothy three and verse one i'm going to read this first verse and i want you if you believe that we're living in those times i want you to give the i want you to give a hearty amen knowing this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come have you ever seen the lawlessness that you're seeing today there's people at a concert a demonic concert they lost their lives it says it's demonic listen it's as demonic as you would ever want to witness but when i watched them interview they said all day long this was a lawless crowd it was a lawless crowd all day long tearing down barricades just disrespecting the police these people his little baby was shot on an interstate in los angeles there's drive-by shootings no longer do our children play in our front yards we don't even let our kids play in the backyards it's perilous times you hear me it's perilous times we're living in them right now notice also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of them own cells covetous that just means me boasters proud blasphemers you listen to me disobedient to parents mom and dad stand your ground mom and dad stand your ground don't let them back you in a corner with everybody's doing it and i i feel like i'm being so mistreated because i gotta be in at a certain time i feel like i've got to be so mistreated because i have to go to church stand your ground mom and dad stand your ground stand your ground stand your ground and apostolic young people respect your parents speak well about them they love you more than you love yourself as a matter of fact your mom and daddy love you more than anybody in this whole world they love you more don't you let some boy tell you he loves you more than your daddy don't you let some girl tell you i love you more than your mama that's not the truth come on stay with me tonight i've been trying to let you all out a little early on wednesday night we had a preacher a couple weeks ago kept you almost to midnight i've been trying to catch you all up on that yeah well that's right now this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of them own selves covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedience to parents what's the next thing what stop looking for the mark of the beast oh brother
