thank god thank god him a hand of praise right now shall we oh give me my hand come on give jesus a great hand of praise right now so good to see everybody in the house the lord tonight if you would stand for the reading of god's word so good to see brother isaac calden here with us tonight and friends that have come in for a great a great celebration amen a great celebration if you're here tonight this is your first time to be at first apostolic church or you're a returning guest i'd like to give you a first apostolic church handclap offering thank you for being with us tonight thank you so much thank you so much grab your bibles and return to genesis chapter 3 verse number 15. genesis chapter 3 and verse number 15. i told you last wednesday night that we were going to going to teach tonight on the defunding of parents the defunding of parents and of course everyone knows where i'm taking that off from the terms that we hear in our media today about defunding the police and so i um i want to borrow that i want to borrow that and talk about defunding the defunding of parents the defunding of parents 3 and verse number 15 god says and i will put enmity that's a wall of hatred animosity between thee now god is speaking to satan and will put a wall between thee and the woman between thy seed and her seed it shall bruise thy head thou shalt bruise his heel i make this comment tonight before we pray but if you are a parent grandparent you love your child you love your children you love them in a way that is indescribable as a matter of fact you could witness this by saying amen as a parent your greatest fear is the loss of a child greatest fear the loss of a child so um just kind of warm up with me tonight let's talk about our children for a while let's talk about our grandchildren i want to tell you that wherever your children are at tonight you hear the word of the lord you hear the man of god wherever your children are at tonight there is hope there's hope don't you let the devil tell you that you've got a child that's outside of the reach of hope because his brother jimmy tony would say the devil is a liar the devil is alive father i love you tonight father i thank you for your word i thank you for a great host of people that have come out tonight to worship praise and to hear your word lord speak to us for the next few moments god god speak speak to us for the next few moments god touch our hearts god prepare us lord those that are here that are not parents god prepare them for that day god i ask you lord to touch us all tonight father i believe what you spoke into my spirit that no child is beyond your reach tonight no child is beyond the reach of your hands comfort us god in jesus name and everybody said amen you may be seated i didn't read this in a book i didn't borrow this from anybody i meditated on this for some time about the definition of how i would how i would describe a child i meditated i thought kenny if you were going to describe a child how would you describe a child how would you describe that child and i describe it this way when you have a child you have two hearts when you have a child you have two souls now if you're here tonight and you've never had children you you may not relate to that statement but as soon as you become a parent you automatically get another heart it's your child's heart you automatically get another soul it is your child's soul but the great challenge that you have in life is that the first heart and soul that you have you get to control it but the second heart and soul that you've got you have no control over you have absolutely you have absolutely no control it's an odd thing isn't it when you have a child it's it's an unusual thing because let the child do good in life and you will brag on what that child has done but let the child not do so good in life and you beat your own self up that odd that's something let the child do good let the child never cause you the first minutes problem let them graduate from high school go on to college make a name for themselves you'll brag to everybody that's my boy that's my daughter she works here she's got this degree she's done this she's done that but let that child not do so good you'll hang your head and talk about what a miserable failure that you are now students and children just sit back and listen tonight because there is a high price to be paid to be a parent being a parent is a very costly thing there's a high price it's a high price to be paid to be a parent see man wouldn't you what it would have been like to have been mary the mother of jesus what would it have been like to have been the step father if we can say that of jesus what would it have been like to have been the mother of jesus well i want you to know that came at a very high price luke chapter 2 and verse number 34 you think about you think about it for a moment church how the birth of jesus christ disrupted the life of joseph and mary had to move several times for the child was in danger of being killed by herod lived a life of being misunderstood because a lot of people whispered and murmured that there wasn't no miraculous baby joseph and mary had been together before they were married that'll do it this is a high price to be paid to be a parent so if you're a parent tonight it's not a cheap thing that you're involved with mary joseph in luke chapter 2 verse number 34 they go to bring jesus eight days old they go to bring him into the temple to be circumcised presented before the lord as they're walking with the eight day old infant a man steps out in verse 34 named simeon and simeon bless them and said unto mary his mother behold this child is set for the right for the fall and the rising again of many in israel and for a sign which shall be spoken against yea a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also that the faults of many hearts may be revealed leave that verse on the screen you say what it would be like to be a parent what it would have been like to be the mother of jesus mary i'll tell you what it's like a sword is going to appear plumb through you so that the hearts and lives of people can be changed the soul you're going to be pierced it's going to be painful i'm not coming to put a wet blanket on such beautiful worship tonight but i am a i am a realist and i want to tell you that being a parent number one isn't easy and being a parent number two isn't cheap because sometimes being a parent of successful children means that you feel the spear the sword pierced through your soul i wonder what mary really went through i can't even imagine can you imagine how many mothers are here tonight that could you ever imagine to stand and watch your son be crucified to stand and watch your son go through that mary did and we know there's a resurrection and there's a pentecost but moms and dads we'll never get to our resurrection and our pentecost unless we just simply realize being a parent is not easy being a parent is not cheap why is it not cheap because the value of a child how valuable how valuable that the child is the bible tells us the value of a child that's why we lay great importance upon the youth of our church it's not because you stay in trouble a lot it's because you were so valuable you get a lot of preaching and a lot of teaching and it's not because right pastor not because not because they're a bad group of kids matter of fact i had a reality check one time i i kind of thought our youth really needed some some work i thought buddy we really got a youth group that needs some work until i took them to national youth convention and when i put them around thousands of other kids i came back and said you know what we got a pretty good youth group i tell you those kids are that's the truth that is a go ahead and if you're watching and you was at that youth conference i'm not talking about your kids all right the value of a child is why it hurts we're told in psalms chapter 127 verse number three verse number three simply starts out with a word called low flow low chapter 127 verse number three low starts out with that word low l-o it simply just means look look see look children are and heritage of the lord who are the children can i ask you a question and would you answer it out loud does our children belong to the government does our children belong to us boy i love that then if our children doesn't belong to the government and some of us really have never faced these struggles we we've never really faced these struggles because the vast majority of you all have had your child in a christian school but you put them in a public school and you'll soon find out that their ideology is a tad bit different about who that child belongs to well the child doesn't belong to the government and the child doesn't even belong to us see that's what makes them so valuable they don't belong to the government and they don't belong to us what makes them of value is that they belong to god the word heritage here the definition of heritage is possession another definition of heritage is property low children are property of the lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward children belong to the lord that's why they're so valuable and keeping them is why it's not cheap and why it's not without pain it's an interesting thing follow me we're going back and forth in the bible but follow me back over to genesis chapter 18. abraham and sarah have not yet had children i do want you to keep that in mind abraham and sarah had not yet had children at the time of genesis 18. but in genesis chapter 18 verse 1 just follow me but keep in mind keep in mind they've had no children not abraham and sarah and the lord appeared unto unto him in the plains of memory and he said in the tent door in the heat of the day he lift up his eyes and looked and lo three men stood by him and when he saw them he ran to meet them from the tent door and bowed himself toward the ground and said my lord if now i have found favor and thy sight pass not away i pray thee from my servant let a little water i pray you and be fetched and wash your feet and rest yourselves under the tree and i will fetch a morsel of bread and comfort ye your hearts after that you shall pass on for therefore are ye come to your servant now please keep remembering the word servant how abram he keeps talking to this angelic host of which one is the lord in an angelic appearance and he keeps referring to himself as a servant verse 6. and abraham hastened into the tent unto syria and to sarah and said make ready quickly three measures of fine meal need to get nil together and make cakes upon the hearth abraham ran no covet i promise and abraham ran under the herd and fetched a calf tender and good and gave it unto the young men and he haste and he haste to dress it he took butter and milk and the calf which he had dressed and set it before them and he stood by them under the tree and they did eat and they said unto him where is sarah thy wife and he said behold in the tent and he said i will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life that's nine nine to ten months and lo sarah thy wife shall have a son and sarah heard it in the tent door she was eavesdropping she heard it in the tent door which was behind him now abram and sarah were old and well stricken in age and it ceased to be with sarah after the manner of women therefore sarah laughed within herself saying after i am washed over shall i have pleasure my lord being old also the lord said unto abraham wherefore did sarah laugh why is she laughing saying shall i of a surety bear a child which i'm old is there anything oh to those of you tonight that need a little faith with your children those of you tonight that need a little faith with your children listen to this is there anything is anything too hard for the lord at that time appointed i will return unto thee according to the time of life and sarah shall have a son then sarah denied saying i laugh not for she was afraid and he said nay but thou did laugh and the men okay now now you know you you got it up to this point right they they're they're childless they're childless now verse i just want to keep you my mind into that the men get up in verse 16 and the men rose up from fence and looked towards sodom and abraham went with them to bring them on the way and the lord said now he's the lord talks to these other two angels and the lord said shall i hide from abraham that thing which i do see he's about to go down and pour out destruction on sodom and gomorrah and god the lord turns to these two angels they show up down at sodom and he said should i keep this back from abram should i keep this back from him should i keep this back from him which i the thing which i do should i withhold information from him i want to stay here for a moment should i withhold information should i keep him in the dark verse 18 seeing that abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him verse 19 for i know him i know him well god what do you know about abraham that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the lord to do justice and judgment that the lord may bring upon abraham that which he had spoken of wait a minute god how do you know abraham is going to train his kids he doesn't have any children him and sarah are without children so how does god know that he's going to train them up in the way that they should go i'll tell you how god knows because of abraham's faith you can never separate your faith from how you'll deal with your children you can never separate your walk with god from the spiritual well-being of your children parents the greatest thing we can do for our children is to painfully endure being disciples of jesus christ regardless of the price it doesn't it's not going to come cheap listen this isn't one of those these churches that we run bargain basement sales on holiness and living for god we're not dropping our prices to get new customers we really believe that it takes something to be a child of god but the price that is paid is nothing to be compared with the blessings that you and i currently enjoy could we worship god right now hallelujah you can never separate god how do you know abraham's going to raise his children i'll tell you how i know how he's going to raise his children i told him to come out of the land of er of the chaldees and he did i told him to turn his back on on on everything he had known up to this point and he did i told him to follow me without an explanation of where he was going and he did and again moms and dads the greatest blessing you could ever give to your children stop living the guilt trip life because you're unable to give them what some other kid in the church has got or what some other kid at church has got i'm i want to talk to a dad and a mom tonight stop beating yourself up because you don't make 70 bucks an hour and you can't do for your children like somebody across the pew does for theirs because the greatest gift that you could give to your son and your daughter would be a dad that is sold out to god a dad that really lives for god a dad that really really lives for god but i gotta tell you it doesn't come cheap there is pain attached to it there is sacrifice attached to it sometimes you go not for your own spiritual benefit but you go because little eyes are watching you and you go because of them just all right tonight i i know him i know him now god says before isaac was ever born before isaac was born god said i already know abraham's going to raise them right well turn over with me in the book of exodus chapter number three the man named moses goes to the desert he runs as a fugitive from egypt he murdered an egyptian he caused his identity to come to public knowledge he runs into the desert there he meets a man and marries his daughter zapporo he becomes a shepherd he's keeping his father-in-law's sheep jethro he becomes a shepherd until one day when he's out tending to the sheep he looks over and he sees a bush that is burning but it's not being consumed he watches as this bush burns and burns and burns and burns and burns and never goes out it caught his attention so he made his way over to the bush and as he makes his way close to the bush a voice speaks out of the burning bush moses take off your shoes the ground that you stand upon is holy ground surely moses i have seen the affliction of my people i have heard their cry in egypt moses and just to give you the condensed version moses you're going down to egypt and you're going to demand pharaoh to let god's people go took him the entire third chapter took him most of the fourth chapter but about midway through the fourth chapter moses decides all right i'm going to egypt i'm going to egypt to tell pharaoh to let god's people go and the bible says in exodus chapter 4 verse number 24 exodus 4 and verse number 24 now please keep in mind please keep in mind he's seen a burning bush he's heard the voice of god he's had the shepherd's staff turned into a serpent and turned back into a rod he's taken his hand and put it in his shirt and pulled it out and it was eat up with leprosy he to put that leprous leprous hand back in his shirt brother tyler pulled it back out and it was healed he's got all these signs going on in his life so he's i'm going to egypt and it came to pass by the way in the end that was a pathway he was headed there that the lord met him and sought to kill him now i'm going to tell you verse 24. i did some research on it brother brad to wonder is this one of these times in scripture that a verse is should be somewhere else somehow it got here i mean why do you tell a man to take off his shoes why do you tell a man that your name is i am that i am and why do you change the shepherd's stick into a serpent and the serpent and the shepherd stick and why do you take the hand leprosy in the hand and not leprosy why do you do all this and he starts heading that way and the lord meets him and sought to kill him well that's a head scratcher isn't it there's a reason there's a reason then seppora that's his wife took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it at his feet and said surely a bloody husband art thou to me so he let him go then she said a bloody husband thou art because of the circumcision wait a minute there's no way that we can evangelize in egypt if we're not in a covenant with god with our children i want to win the world but i don't want to win the world at the cost of looking over the top of my children so i said oh hallelujah if i can have a burden and weep over people i've never seen in africa if i can get down here and have a burden for people that i've never seen before and cry and pray and get in my pocket and give to them what about my children that i go home with that live in the next room beside me they have a soul too they have a soul that needs to be saved too this is my this is my this is my slant on a scripture for what would it profit a man if he would win the whole world and neglect his family some have scoffed at noah some have scoffed at him they said he was a preacher and he preached a hundred something years and only one seven souls beside himself you know what sometimes the number is not in the numbers sometimes it's who you win not how many they count up with i want you to know as a parent tonight put me aside as a pastor as a parent tonight put me aside as a pastor put me aside as a is a superintendent that just sat down with with uh 25 district superintendents in eight different departments and we talked about planting churches up the eastern seaboard we talked about ways of winning souls and bible studies put all that aside because what's really on my heart is i want my children to be saved i want my children to be saved i want fallon lauren nolan chad zach flannery i want paris windsor london beckham thank god you kept your hand on beckham sunday night lord i saw that thank you and here i am trying to keep kids from running around here and brother hammond's got them jumping out of the off the ceiling here i love you buddy in hampton come on now let's win a world let's give a quarter of a million to just foreign missions let's win a world let's plant some churches up up northeast let's plant some churches in vermont let's plant some churches in connecticut let's plant some churches in new hampshire but not at the expense of looking over the heads of our families and moms and dads i've got to tell you tonight i can't do it alone i love these students on these pews i love these young people i know at times you may doubt whether i love you or not but i want you to know that i love you maybe i may even love you spiritually more than your own parents love you because i understand this one thing i can't go down to egypt and tell a world to move when i've not done what the word of the lord says to my own children the word of the lord had already told abraham if you don't circumcise your children you have broken the covenant moses was trying to go down and shake a world when he hadn't even applied the word of god to his own family you know what to turn our city upside down our state upside down our world upside down if parents will get off of the passive button and realize it's not cheap it is not cheap it hurts but yet we have god's property they are god's property i have two hearts two souls i can't control one of the hearts and one of the souls but i can do my best to get you around an environment that you'll make the right decisions when it comes time for you to decide can't win a world when i've not applied what i'm trying to preach the world to my own children interesting thing happened in second kings chapter number 11. you see i think the enemy for some time has been trying to defund parenting i think the enemy for sometimes tried to get you to believe the perfect husband is the one that brings all the money home and the perfect wife is the one that makes sure that money is spent wisely close the children reads bible studies to the children takes the children to sunday school if you have that mentality you have been defunded as a parent you have lost your value in second kings chapter 11 and verse number one is where i would like to begin the bible says and when athaliah the mother of ahaziah saw that her son was dead and her son was the king it's a mean woman it's athaliah it's a mean woman she's almost as bad as jezebel she's a mean athaliah is a mean woman now you'll see it in just a moment athaliah witnesses her son being killed she arose and destroyed all the royal all the seed royal what's that mean she killed all of her grandkids she killed all of her grandkids but jehoshaba the daughter of king jerome sister of ahaziah took joash the son of azzahiah and stole him from among the king sons which were slain and they hid him even him and his nurse in the bed chamber from athaliah glad you're hiding i'm glad you're hiding the only surviving seed i'm glad you're hiding the only surviving seed they hid him and his nurse in the bed chamber from athaliah so thankful so that he was not slain and he was with her hid in the house of the lord six years and athaliah did reign over the land you see this she thinks she's killed all the seed royal she thinks she has the rightful seat of an heir to the throne when her son was killed she saw an advancement to go to the throne she stacks all of her grandsons up as she has killed all of them but a nurse notices from the heap of the bodies the movement of one she extracts that one and finds out that he's still alive but his life will only be spared if he is kept hid if he is kept hid his life is only prepared if we can hide them from athaliah follow along with me and the seventh year and the seventh year jehoiad has sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds you know and and the captains and the guard and brought them into the house of the lord and made a covenant with them and took an oath of them in the house of the lord and showed them the king's son he'd been there for six years he's now somewhere upward of seven years old and the priest comes and says i'd like to show you something they didn't know what he was wanting to show he said i'd like to show you something it's in the house of god he opens the door and out walks out a seven-year-old boy that resembles what his father looked like i see the guards i see the soldiers as they gasp for a moment is that is that one of the king's seed we've had him hit can i tell you that my goal in empowering parents is that there's an evil athaliah that roams our streets and our internets there's an evil athaliah that's loose through our government there's an evil athaliah that wants to put herself on the throne of our lives and control everything but there's a group of people in maryville that have hid the royal seed we've got it hid in the house of god because one day we're going to present them out and they're going to walk the streets of our community their minds are not eat up with drugs their minds have not been educated to believe in evolution they are children of faith of the most high god they are children that believe in the almighty god and they're walking the streets let me go on for a moment he shows them verse number six he commanded them saying verse number five excuse me and he commanded him saying this is the thing that ye shall do the third part of you that enter in on the sabbath day what do you what he prepares he says we have got to protect this this has got to be protected as parents we must protect god's property athaliah comes in through television athaliah comes in through music athaliah comes in athaliah comes in through some entertainment that has no necessary evil attached to it it just has an addiction i said what's wrong with this i tell you what's wrong with this they can't put it down you tell me what's wrong come on same with this i tell you what's evil with it it occupies all your mind to where you'll sneak and get up in the middle of the night and get on that game oh here there he goes now here he goes again no no no no no you don't understand i'm trying to protect you from athaliah because you are a value you're not a mistake you're not just a girl or a boy that that's some kind of mistake that that you're just one of millions and you're really not important you are god's property and i happen to be your parents pastor and we happen to believe that you're very valuable so we want to protect you that's why we want you to dress a certain way that's why we put things off limits to you that's why we say don't do this and don't do that it's not to control your life it is to protect your life because you are valuable let me see if i can break it down this way let me see if i can break it down this way the original declaration of independence i'm talking about the one that was signed july 4th 1776. the original one the original is in a sealed vault in washington dc and when you begin to study and there's only so much about that that is released but when you begin to study that that that document is kept in glass that the humidity is kept just right the temperature is kept just right even the lighting in the room is on timers not to be too much light not to be too much dark it's all there and then they have things on there to protect the document itself and then they have things around it to protect it from thieves you don't find the declaration of independence at the pilot station the people that put the alarm system on the pilot station wasn't called to washington dc there's even pressure there's even in the room pressure that if they can turn the alarms on and if there's a change in the pressure which would be a human being stepping into the room it triggers the alarm well why go to all of that because it's such a valuable document why go to all the things that we tell you stay away from that add that to your life keep this in your life keep that out of your life do this don't do that have these friends don't have that kind of friends do all that you know why you're more valuable than the original copy of the declaration of independence you have dwelling within you the future you have dwelling within you you have dwelling within you the future the other day i was pastor phil cook he pastors a church in madisonville kentucky he brought his entire staff down here friday this past friday and uh toured the building and uh uh we're we're going through the building and brother stumbo we go by your class and he took a second look and i said yeah i said that's luke stumbo he said that's luke stumbo i said yeah he said his mother taught me in sunday school at the gray ridge church the gray road church in memphis tennessee under don johnson said she was my sunday school teacher do you see how valuable these children are these students are tonight that's why the enemy wants to miss parents with our minds and not cause us to see our children as god's property because god is going to do great mighty miraculous unbelievable mind-blowing things with the youth of our church but it's going to be painful it's going to be painful and it's not going to be cheap we're going to have to work with them and we're going to have to stay at it can i tell you tonight our children are not without hope i don't care how far they've turned their back i don't care how how how little interest they have shown in god you are of value and god's going to help us in vacuum he said this is what we want to do let me just for time's sake the priests got them all together because the priest was hiding the boy can't you see that priest going and checking on him he's in the nursery he's in the nursery how's he doing well all he can really understand right now is jehovah loves me this i know for the first five books of the bible tells me so that's all i understand he checks on him about two two two years he's about two and a half three and he goes by the class and he hears the little boy going on god one god and the nurse is saying how many gods are there on god oh god oh he's doing good and he gets on up and he's four or five years old and he goes by the classroom and the little boy is starting to say i need to give my life to jehovah i need to give my life to god i need to give my life just like it happens around here it happens around here because we are not isolating me and a fire marshal one day had a uh pardon a pun we had a rather heated discus discussion because he was anti-christian schools and he said i just don't really i just don't really promote christian schools because you all are trying to isolate your children and he said i find that children that are in christian schools are beat down and they're withdrawn and they don't express themselves and their drab and they just kind of go about that time a group of kids come through and i mean if they were beat down and drab they look like tennessee had beat georgia is what they look like i mean that they were all kind of and he kind of kind of looked for just a moment i said mr fire marshall i called his name but i won't do it tonight i said mr fire marshall we are not in the isolating business we are in the insulating business we are insulating our children we've got some kids here here monday monday through friday we got some kids here oh let me let me tell you something else let me let me tell you something else we got going on we got a daycare going on and you can go by the the nursery and i listen this is it you can go by the nursery and find holy ghost-filled apostolic women with little babies in our them babies don't even their parents don't even go to this church yet they don't even go to this church yet but little old kids are being held in their arms and teachers are calling out the name of jesus i got news for you no wonder antholia wants to mess with us no wonder at the liar wants to mess with us aren't you glad to be a part of this aren't you glad to be a part stand with me right now i'm going to end with this he said he goes through you can read this tonight if you like he comes through and he presents the king's son verse 10 said and to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king david spears and shields that were in the temple lord i could preach right there because i'm going to tell you what we need to protect our children is some old weapons i'm for lights and i'm for smoke i'm for everything i'm for all the glitter i'm for all that stuff they do but i'm gonna tell you what's gonna help our children go find me some old weapons of david go find me some of them old weapons of prayer praise worship bring them out into the temple and the guard stood every man with his weapon in his hand round about the king from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple along by the altar and the altar and the temple i'm going to tell you something we need to protect everything around here everything around here ought to be protected and he brought forth the king's son now when when the house was protected he brought forth the king son and put the crown verse 12 and put the crown up on his head now watch this he put a crown on his head and gave him the testimony and they made him king and anointed him and they clapped their hands and said god save the king there's a day coming that we can't hide you from athletic anymore but when antholia finally gets her shot at you you're not a little infant that she can run through with a sword you're a young person with a crown on your head oil dripping down from your head the word of god in your hand and protect it and now come on atheliah come on antholia if you're going to come in this house you're going to have to come in because somebody's clapping their hands and somebody's lifting up a shout and somebody's lifting up a praise at the liar loves cold dead churches atheliah loves cold dead houses atheliah loves the tv louder than the prayer but give me a mom and dad that can pray and let antholia come because my grandbabies are stepping out of the bedroom with a crown on their head anointing oil and a word in their hands i wouldn't sleep tonight if i didn't tell you what happened to antholia and when athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people she came to the people into the temple of the lord and when she looked behold the king stood by a pillar oh god i could preach right there grandma the last time you laid your eyes on me you thought i was dead the next time you lay your eyes on me i'm standing by the pillar in the temple with a crown on my head and oil dripping off of me and the word of god in my hand and some protection around me i say tonight there are some of you standing here that the last time the devil saw you he had beat you down and throwed you on the heap of all others that had been defeated but somehow somebody got you by prayer and fasting off of the heap and they took your name to the prayer room and they put your name in a prayer base and they oh god they kept you here oh they kept you in and tonight you've got some faith to believe god and she looked and behold the king stood by a pillar as the manner was and the princes and the trumpeters by the king and all the people of the land rejoice and blew with the trumpet it got noisy
