Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Driven from the garden

  • He reads the expulsion: lest man take also of the tree of life and live forever, God sends him forth from Eden and places cherubim and a flaming sword at the east of the garden to keep the way of the tree of life.
  • It is at that guarded east — the door, where the cherubim mark the presence of God and the sword his judgment — that Cain brings his offering “unto the Lord.”
  • God comes to the fallen Cain with correction, not only condemnation: if you do well you will be accepted, and if not, sin lies at the door.
  • In the gospel of John, Jesus names himself with the “I am” sayings — the bread of life, the vine, the good shepherd, the way, the truth and the life, the resurrection and the life — and among them, “I am the door.”

Scriptures: Genesis 3:22-24; Genesis 4:3; Genesis 4:6-7; John (book-only, as spoken)

When Satan is shut up

  • He reads Revelation 20:3: Satan cast into the bottomless pit and shut up, sealed so he can deceive the nations no more until the thousand years are fulfilled.
  • Isaiah shows the earth with the adversary's voice removed: the wolf dwells with the lamb, the lion eats straw like the ox, and the earth is full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
  • Until then the whole creation groans and travails in pain together — man's decision to sin affected not only himself but the earth he lives on and the people around him.

Scriptures: Revelation 20:3; Isaiah 11:4-10; Romans 8:22

Destroyed for lack of knowledge

  • Cain's demise was not the wrong sacrifice alone; it was refusing the knowledge that would have corrected it — God showed him how to do it right.
  • He reads Hosea 4:6 entire: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.”
  • Not all obeyed the gospel; to those who are contentious and obey not the truth comes indignation and wrath, and flaming vengeance on those who know not God and obey not the gospel.

Scriptures: Hosea 4:6; Romans 10:16; Romans 2:8; 2 Thessalonians 1:8

The presence between the cherubim

  • Of every furnishing of the tabernacle, God promised to dwell at only one place: above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim — “there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee.”
  • Cherubim woven into the veil say the same thing: wherever God is, mercy follows.
  • Psalm 80 addresses him the same way: the Shepherd of Israel who leads Joseph like a flock and dwells between the cherubim — “shine forth.”

Scriptures: Exodus 25:22; Psalm 80:1

A door with no measurement

  • For the ark God gave the exact length, width, height, and the measure of the window — but no measurement for the door.
  • The door was exactly wide enough and tall enough to put on the ark everything God wanted to save; the door is the entrance to the presence of God, and he wanted the earth to be saved.

Scriptures: Genesis 6:16

Blood on the doorposts

  • After 430 years of bondage, the blood of the lamb is struck on the two side posts and the upper door post of the houses — not the mailbox, not the foundation; God is working on the door.
  • “When I see the blood, I will pass over you” — the Hebrew word, he teaches, carries leaping and dancing: when God sees the blood applied, he rejoices.
  • So Jesus told the returning disciples not to rejoice that the spirits were subject to them, but that their names were written in heaven — and in that hour Jesus himself rejoiced in spirit.

Scriptures: Exodus 12:7; Exodus 12:13; Luke 10:20-21

Bring it to the door

  • A sacrifice not brought to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation is not accepted, however sincere or costly it is; attempting a relationship with God away from the door cuts a man off from his people.
  • The daughters of Zalahad (as captioned) stood by that same door before Moses, Eleazar, the princes, and the congregation, and God ruled their cause right: they receive their father's inheritance.
  • Things that are God's will are revealed at the door — the house of God, where the corporate body gathers — and he closes by likening the altar to the door and calling sinners and prodigals to come to it.

Well, if you have your Bibles and turn with me for a few moments this morning to the book of Genesis, the book of Genesis, chapter number three, and verse number 22, and then we'll read from Genesis 4, a couple of verses there, and then we will begin to teach and preach today the word of God. Genesis chapter 3 and verse 22. And the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become as one of us to know good and evil. Now, lest he put forth his hand, take also of the tree of life and eat and live forever." Therefore, the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So he drove out the man and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden cherubam and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the tree of life. Genesis 4 verse number three. And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought to the fruit of the ground an offering. And I want us to say these last three words. Unto the Lord. Where? Where? Where did he bring his offering? Where? He he brought his offering unto the Lord. Genesis 4 and verse 6 and 7. And the Lord said unto Cain, why art thou wroth? That's inner turmoil. And why is thy countenance fallen? That's what shows on the outside when there's anger and turmoil on the inside. Why are you wroth? Why is your countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lith at the door, and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. I want to minister today on this simple subject. A lesson, a lesson about the door. A lesson, a lesson about the door. Precious God, today I personally thank you, Lord, for giving us your word. Lord, your word is the only thing that can change our lives, God. Lord, your word has power because you are your word and you are in your word. Lord, help us to receive today, our ears to hear, our hearts to understand. God, help us to be injected with faith today, God, that faith would arise in our heart, that we would be overcomers. Lord help us today through the preaching of your word change lives in Jesus wonderful name we pray. Amen and amen. You may be seated. A door becomes of great interest to the student of scriptures. A door is of great interest to those that are seriousminded about scripture. in fact that God would use a door, he would use a door as an example to himself. He would use the analogy of a door to liken it to himself. When God became a man and dwelt among us, he said in the in the gospel of John particularly, he said, "I am I am the bread of life." He said, "I am the vine." He said, "I am the good shepherd." He said, "I am the way, truth, and the life." He said, "I am the resurrection, and the life." But where we're going to deal with this today is he also said in scripture, I am the door. I am the door. You imagine with me today, Adam and Eve lived in perfect sinless world. They lived in a harmony with their creator. That's that's unimaginable. The life that they lived before sin. Such harmony, such perfection that they had. They knew the harmony of their creator. Worship was something the best we could put together. The best we could put together is the evening time. God would come down and in the breezes, in the wind, Adam and Eve would somehow communicate with their creator. and their creator God would communicate with them. They knew Adam and Eve and enjoyed the blessedness of God and his ways. What a life. We don't know. We don't know exactly how long, how many years, or if it even went a week. We don't know how long that it went. But then sin rears its ugly head. And with sin comes deception. And with sin comes shame. And with sin comes guilt and pain. And with sin comes the fear of the unknown. And now God's creation, man and woman. And God's creation, the earth, is cast in to chaos because sin has now entered the world. It is cast in. It is cast into chaos. Not only is man and woman cast into chaos, but the very earth enters into a time of chaos. The ground now is going to bring forth what? Thorns and thistles. the earth, the weather patterns that were originally designed, hear me now, that were originally designed to be the perfect weather. It was originally designed, the wind would blow just right. It would be just right in the temperature. It would be just right. There would be no earthquakes. There would be no tornadoes. There would be no hurricanes. There would be nothing of a destructive measure. But sin not only put man into chaos, not only into chaos, but into decay. Because not only did man die immediately, man died immediately a spiritual death. Immediately he died a spiritual death. But man slowly began to decay. And from dust he was made, and unto dust he shall return. It's It's interesting. It's interesting. If you can eliminate sin, you can bring things back to a peaceful order. If you could eliminate, and this earth will, this earth will at the end of tribulation, this earth that we're on will experience what the Bible talks of a 1,000year millennial reign of Jesus Christ. What do you mean by that? God himself, Jesus Christ, along with his church is going to reign and rule from Jerusalem. Now, there's something else that's very interesting. Scripture teaches us is that there will be the absence of the enemy. There will be the absence of his forces for Revelation 20 and verse number three. And I just love to read these verses. Sometimes you ever get discouraged. Just read Revelation 20 and verse number three. And he cast him, that's Satan, he cast him into the bottomless pit. And I like these next four words. And shut him up. I'm going to tell you something. If you could ever identify the devil's voice, you'd just walk around. You'd be talking. You know, now that we got earpieces, you you you get on an elevator and somebody's talking. You say, "What' you say? I'm talking to somebody." If we could ever realize the voice of Satan in our life, we'd just go along say we we'd just be getting out of the car saying, "Shut up. Just shut your mouth. I rebuke you and shut him." Anybody like that today? And shut him up and set a seal upon him that he should that that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that, he must be loosed a little season. Well, let's see what happens. The old prophet Isaiah pulls up the veil and says, "I'm going to show you what's going to happen when Satan is shut up and his presence, his absence from the earth." Isaiah in Isaiah 11 verse number four, he said, "Let me show you what will happen." He says, "But with righteousness shall he judge the poor and reprove with equity for meek for for the meek of the earth. And he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth. And with the breath of his lip shall he slay the wicked. And the righteous shall be the g and with and righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins. And faithfulness the girdle of his reigns. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb. That's odd. And the leopard shall lie down with the kid. That's odd. And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together. And a little child shall lead them. That's really strange. And the cow and the bear shall feed. Their young one shall lie down together. And the lion shall eat straw like an ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the ass. That's a snake. And the wing child shall put forth his hand on the cockatrist nest. That's a poisonous spider. They shall not hurt nor destroy. and on my holy mountain. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a root of David. We know who he is. Which shall stand for an inign of the people to it shall the Gentiles seek and his rest shall be glorious. What a day that's going to be when all of these animals that are predators and and that fight one another, it's all going to be changed. It's all It's all going to be changed. Why? Because the adversar's voice and influence is removed from the earth. As a matter of fact, we've been having storms and and we've been having tornadoes and you watch the Weather Channel and they're having mudslides and they're having hurricanes and they're having tornadoes and they're having droughts. It's all because sin. Romans 8:22 talks about creation and Romans 8:22 says, "For we know that the whole creation groanth and travaleth in pain together until now." You see, man's decision not only affected himself, but man's decision affected the earth that he lived upon. And I could go into a lot of different directions there because the way we live not only affects us, it affects the people that are around us. So man decision to sin affected creation also. But let's let's get back to the story. Let's get back to the story. And um we understand that God told Adam he was going to till the ground and thorns and thistles and sorrow and on and on it went. And then there was and there's the we don't want to we don't want to read between the lines and add too much here, but we can read between the lines. Adam and Eve, you have to leave paradise. Adam and Eve, you have to leave the Garden of Eden. And evidently, Adam and Eve didn't want to leave. So there's a word introduced to us and it says, "So God drove them out as if as if I don't want to leave, but you must leave. You must go because there's a tree of life in this garden and you're not going to be able to live in the sinless condition that you're in and live forever." Uh God would not God God would God would not allow that. And so man was driven. The word drove there be used before man was driven from the garden. God, the father of Adam and Eve performed a sacrifice in their presence. An innocent animal or animals plural were used. Their lives, their innocent lives were taken. The animals had done no wrong, but their lives were taken. Their blood was shed as the first example of symbolic cleansing by the blood of bringing atonement back to God. The skins of the animal were handed over to Adam and Eve because now they have lost their original clothing. A lot of people think that Adam and Eve originally were naked. They were not naked. They were clothed with the glory of God. They were clothed in light. They were clothed in a glory of God. But when they sin, the light went out. When they sinned, the glory left. And now they stand and they're naked. But God hands them garments to cover to cover their bodies, to cover their shame. It would be that Adam would follow this and Adam would also offer up a sacrifice. We know of two sons that were born to Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel. Cain brought great disappointment because when Eve gave birth to Cain, she felt like that God had given the promised seed of the woman, the seed that would crush, destroy, eradicate the head of the serpent that led us into this into deceit. it would crush and destroy. But yet, Cain proves that he is not the one. As a matter of fact, the name Cain simply means, "I have gotten a man from the Lord." But you'll soon be disappointed, Eve, because Cain is not the one that God's going to use. But Adam taught his sons like God taught him. Adam taught his sons how to worship. And Adam taught that you go get an animal, the shedding of blood. And you get the skins, God gets the blood. That's how you'll have an offering. That's how you'll have uh uh worship God. We know as we study scripture that there had to be a manifestation that God was pleased with an offering. Many times throughout the Bible, we see that fire fell from heaven and would consume the sacrifice. And that was the outward visible manifestation that God had accepted the sacrifice. That was that outward manifestation. And how pleased a man should, how pleased a person was when they would bring their sacrifice to God and they would stand back. They did the best they could do and they would stand back and that God would descend in fire and consume the sacrifice. What joy, what peace must fill their heart when they turned around to go home and they could go home with the assurance that I have pleased God today that my sacrifice was pleasing to him and what joy must fill their heart. But the Bible uses the phrase in the process of time over time. Can I tell you something? We have to be on our guard not to allow time to cause us to change the way we worship our God. We have to be on guard. If it's in the Bible, if it's in the word of God, I don't care how old the holy rit is. I don't care how old it is. Nothing in our culture changes the word of God. For let the word of God be true and every man a liar. And the Bible says this word is going to stand when the world is on fire. So we can't allow we can't allow time but somehow somehow Cain and Cain allowed time to change and he changed from a blood sacrifice to vegetables. He was a tiller. He was a tiller of the ground. And Cain brings this fruit unto the Lord. And and this fruit uh was not acceptable to God. There was no fire, no joy, no peace. And Cain's life was filled with bitterness and turmoil and inner struggle. He didn't leave his sacrifice with joy. He didn't leave his sacrifice with peace. He left it with inner turmoil. And that inner turmoil soon showed up on his face. But you see, we serve a God today that doesn't look only at our sin, but he looks at the solution for our sin. I want to tell you today, I want to tell you that we serve a God. This is one of the reasons I love him. I love him. I love him is he looked beyond my fault and he saw my need. This is one reason I preach him. I proclaim him today because he isn't just seeing the negative of your life. He is seeing how the negative can be turned into a positive. And he's seeing how that you can change our life. Can Can I tell you? He would go visit He would go visit He would go visit a cemetery where a demon-possessed man was that was tormented. He cut himself. He was full of scars. He was naked. He was crazy. He cried day and night. But can I tell you, you don't have enough scars to keep away our savior. There is not enough confusion in your life that can keep away our Christ. I I want you to know today that even when we do wrong, we serve a God that comes down and says, "Can can I tell you how to fix it?" And so God comes down. God comes down and he says, "Cain, why are you? Why is your countenance fallen? Don't you know that if you would do well, you would be what's that word? Remember that word? Accepted. Don't you know if you do well, you'll be accepted. And if thou doest not well, and here's the interesting thing, sin lith at the door. or in the Hebrew, a sin offering is at the door. Now, let me stop there for a moment. Do you remember when it said that Cain brought an offering unto the Lord? Would someone help me find where unto the Lord would be? Let's let's let's go back quickly in our mind. How many thousands of years old? Let's go back to where Adam and Eve stand there and it comes time to render a sacrifice. Where would we go? Where do where is the place unto the Lord? I believe I know I believe that scripture tells us where that place would be. The Bible tells us that God placed at the east of the Garden of Eden a cherubam, an angelic being, and a flaming sword to guard the way of the tree of life. Now, you may say, "Well, brother Carpenter, that was judgment. The cherubam represents judgment, and the sword represents judgment. You're 50% right, and you're 50% incorrect." The sword represents judgment, but the cherubam represents the presence of God. You look throughout the Bible just very quickly because I'm I'm running out of time. But isn't it amazing that Ezekiel will announce the presence of God and say, "I saw the cherubams. I saw the presence of God because I first saw the cherubams." Is a matter of fact. Is a matter of fact. When God instructed Moses to build the Old Testament tabernacle, there was only one place that God said, "I will dwell." There was only one place that God said, "I will be." We talk about the altar, the brazen altar, but he didn't say it about the brazen altar. He didn't say, "I'll set on the brazen altar. I'll dwell on the brazen altar." We can talk about the brazen brass labor, but God never said, "I'll set on the brass labor." We can talk about a table that had bread on it, but God never said, "I'll dwell on the table of shoebre." We can talk about the golden incense that burned, but God said I God never said, "I'll dwell on I'll I'll dwell on the uh incense altar. We can talk about the candlestick, but again, God never said, "I'll dwell." But when we get to the mercy seat, he said, "I want you to place on top of the mercy seat, not one but two cherubams, and they shall look toward one another. And there, above the mercy seat, and beneath the cherubams, there is where I will dwell." So the cherubam represented the presence of God, but the sword represented the judgment of God. God. As a matter of fact, God wasn't through with the cherub because he said, "Now, you need to put a thick veil that divides the holy place from the holiest of holies. That's where I live. The holiest of holies is where I live." And there's to be a thick veil that historians say that wild horses tied in to end could not tear the veil apart. But God wasn't through with the veil because he ordered to be embroidered upon the veil. What in the world would you want to embroider upon the veil? What is it that you would want to a rose uh you're you're you know you're the rose of Sharon a a lily while you're the lily you're the lily of the valley. What analogy would you want to be placed upon? What would you like to be woven into the veil that divides? I'll tell you what was woven into it. Cherubams were woven into it because those cherubams represented the presence of the almighty God. And anywhere God is, mercy follows. Anywhere God is, mercy will follow. So I submit to you today that Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel came down to the east of of Eden. And there with that cherubam standing there and that flaming sword, there is where they begin to worship unto unto the Lord. Would you give the Lord a hand of praise right now? There is where there at the door they begin they begin to worship. Do you know something? Let me tell you something. The demise and the failure of Cain was not a wrong sacrifice. It was not listening to instructions of correction. Let that sink in. Your demise today is not what you've committed. God has no trouble taking care of any of our sins today. Can I get a witness, somebody? God has no trouble forgiving sins. He can forgive any and all sins. This world is grossly perverted. But I've got good news for a perverted world. There's not one act of perversion that our God cannot forgive you of that the blood cannot cleanse you. Because I hear an old song coming right now. It reaches to the highest mountain and it flows to the lowest valley. Oh, I feel my helper coming on this morning. I'm talking about the blood. I'm talking about the remedy. I'm talking about redemption. Oh, if you're here today, you throw that ugly blanket of condemnation off of you because Jesus Christ has got the answer for your sin. I wish somebody just lift up their voice and give him praise right now. Come on, praise him like you believe it. Praise him like you believe it right now. Your problem today, your problem today is not your sin. Your problem today is the rejection of knowledge to bring you out of your sin. Because God came down and said, "Cain, you did it wrong, but let me show you how to do it right." And had Cain listened to the knowledge of God, Cain's life would have been so much better. Cain would have never killed his brother. Cain would have never lived a vagabond and a fugitive looking over his shoulder all the days of his life. He'll lived out a life with only one mistake in his life. And he would tell that mistake, he'd say, "But God fixed it." You know, I just love people that have made that mistake. And when God fixes it, you're not self-righteous. You don't keep it to yourself. If you find somebody else walking down that same road, you just slip over and say, "Hey, I want you to know I made that mistake, but God brought me out." You ever wondered what why it is that when a prodal or a sinner comes to the altar that other people that are not prodical and they are born again will come and pray. You know why we do that? Oh yeah. To help them. No. To identify with them. Because when we wouldn't it be a lonely place for you to have come as a sinner and a prodal if nobody else in the church would would have come down if everybody would have folded their arms and looked at you and said we're waiting for you to clean your act up so that you can become part of the righteous that's sitting here. No, we go to the altar to put our hand on their back to say hey brother. Hey sister, we can identify because we've done XYZ. We've done this and that, but we're here to tell you God can bring you out. You see, the Bible says in Hosea 4, verse number six, look at it with me. My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I have also rejected thee. God's people were not destroyed for their sin. They were destroyed because they rejected the the remedy, the remedy for our sin. Romans chapter 10 verse number 16 simply says, "But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, Lord, who had received our report, there's a world that is lost, that is destined to an inferno of hell, of eternal unimaginable torment. And the only thing that can get them off that highway, I don't know who that man was that wrote that song, I'm on the highway to hell. I'm on the highway to hell. But if he'd really understand the gospel, he'd write a remix of it and say, I was on the highway to hell, but now I'm on the highway of holiness and my life has been changed. Romans chapter 2 and verse number eight. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness is indignation and wrath. 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse number 8. In flaming fire, oh, this is that torment I talked about. In flaming fire, taking vengeance on them, what have they done? They know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Can I tell you today, I have no other gear to preach in but to tell you this. People are not going to just be destroyed because of their sin. They're going to be destroyed because they rejected the council of creation of correction. Oh Lord, I don't want to ex I don't want to reject the council the council of creation. But you see, Cain was a worker. He was a tiller of the ground. He brought his works to God. When the worker isn't a worshshiper, they begin to idolize their work. Isn't it amazing that some people think they can give an amount of money and that's going to make a difference? It will not make a difference. You can give everything you own, you can give all the millions of dollars you own, but that will not keep you from judgment. The only thing that can keep us from judgment is believing, embracing, and obeying the truth. And I think we ought to give God a hand right now. Let me quickly quickly tell you, God told Cain, "Your issue is at the door. That's where your issues at. You don't have the right offering. You don't have the right offering here at the door." The golden cher the cherubams were placed there at the entrance and a sword to introduce the presence of God. And there's where man would come in the presence of God and in the presence of the sword. That's where man would come. And I already read to you or I already spoke to you of of Exodus 25:22 where God instructing them to build the tabernacle where he would dwell. In Exodus 25:22 he says, "And there I will meet with thee. I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat from between the two cherubams which are upon the ark of the testimony of all things which I have given thee in commandment unto the children of Israel." So there is there's the cherubams again. Exodus 26 and1 just for time's sake he said for it to be embroidered upon upon uh the veil there in Exodus 36 uh and and 35 there again Psalms 80 and verse number one God introduces himself again and he says in Psalms 80 and verse one give ear oh oh shepherd of Israel that thou leadest Joseph like a flock that dwelleth between the cherubam shine forth in other words God said this is how I'm introduced uced. I'm introduced as a shepherd. I'm introduced as a ch with a cherub and I'm introduced here with a sword. Time goes on and sin grows more perverted by the day. We come to chapter six of the book of Genesis. We find God going to destroy the entire earth with a flood. Finds a man gives the man precise precise directions to build the ark. You read the story students today. He told them exactly how long to make the ark. He told them exactly, brother Ericson, how wide to make the ark. He told them how many stories to put in the ark, how many floors to put in the ark. He gave them the exact measurement of the window that was to be put in the ark. But now we come to the door. Genesis 6:16. God said, "A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit, that's a measurement, shalt thou finish it above, and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof, with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it." Interesting to note, church, that no measurement is given for the door. There's no measurement. There's a measurement for the length, for the width, the height, and the window. But when it came to the door, there is no measurement to the door. Why? Because whatever the measurement was, it was exactly that. It would put everything that God wanted to save on the ark. It would put everything that God wanted to save on the ark. Are you with me this morning? Everything. The door was wide enough, tall enough to save everything that was on the earth. No measurement given because there is a spiritual symbolic meaning here because the door is the entrance to the presence of God. And God wanted the earth to be saved. And now it changes not. He is the door. And he says, "Whosoever will, let him come." And it says, "God is not willing that any would perish." That gives us good hope in the midst of gross perversion in our world today. There's not a perversion so wide and so high that cannot come in the door of the marvelous grace of Almighty God. Stop beating yourself up. Stop repeating the same act. Stop thinking that you're hopeless. You are not hopeless. You can come in today. Oh, I see time is getting away from me today. I see time is getting away from me. But let me tell you, 430 years. 430 years of bondage. The children of Israel had mean cruel bondage. 430 years. It's unimaginable what uh uh Pharaoh and the Egyptians put God's people through with whips and rapes and all kinds of things that they did. But after 430 years, God sends a man. Man, he said, "Well, I've been this way for I've been this way for 20 years. I don't think there's any hope. I've been this way for 30 years. I don't think there's any hope." How about 430 years? But God sends a man, and that man is saying to Pharaoh, "You let God's people go." That was the word of God. That was the word of God. You let God's people go. And after 430 years, Exodus 12 verse number 7 reads like this. God said, "And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side post and on the upper door post of the houses wherein they shall eat in." Verse number 13 of the same chapter. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you. And the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you. When I smite Israel of all the places you could want the blood of the lamb of all the places. How about on the mailbox? How about on the sidewalk? How about in the foundation? How about anywhere? But God said, "No, I'm working on an analogy." and where I want you to put the blood of the lamb cuz you're coming out tonight. And you're coming out by a pillar of fire and by a pillar of of fire and by a a pillar you're coming out of Egypt tonight because the lamb has been slain and there's lifegiving ex deliverance in the lamb of Jesus Christ. Listen to me today. I'm going to be like Moses. You've not been in bondage for 430 years, maybe 20, 30 years. You got good You got some good news to hear you today. The blood of the lamb has been shed and the blood of the lamb will bring you out, but you got to apply it to Oh my God. The door. Somebody shout the door. The door. Say it again. The door. The door. The door. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you. Now that interesting word Hebrew pass when I see the blood I will pass over you. That that Hebrew word there pass as you dig up its original meaning. It means to hop, skip over. It it means to dance. It means to leap. God's angry with sin every day. The Bible says that you can't get away from that. God's angry with the act, but he loves the sinner. Don't you let Don't you believe there's a false doctrine, a major false doctrine in our religious world today is God hates the sinner. God does not hate the sinner. God hates the sin. But God doesn't hate the sinner. Matter of fact, God loved the world so much. Didn't say for God so hated the world so much. The Bible said God so loved the world. Can I tell you that God was coming through Egypt with a vengeance? God was coming through Egypt. He got 430 years of anger of how his people had been treated. And he's running. He is boiling across Egypt with a vengeance. But when he sees the blood, there's judgment sword. But when he sees the blood, he's going to start rejoicing. He's going to start leaping. He's going to start dancing. when he sees the blood. Let me give you a little something to tie that in. God gets excited when he sees us apply the blood the correct way. The Bible says in Luke 10 verse number 20, the disciples came back and oh they were dancing, twirling and leaping and rejoicing. They were so thankful because they could command devils and devils had to come out. They could command the devils and they had to come out. And Jesus said, "Stop your rejoicing over devils that are coming out, but rejoice rather that your names are written in heaven." That's why you ought to rejoice. Not because you can control the devil, but because your name has been written and it's in the lamb's book of life. And in verse number 21, and in verse number 21, it simply says, "And in that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, Jesus also rejoiced when he mentioned your names being written in life." Well, let me tell you today, there's something special about this house. Leviticus 17:8 going back to the Old Testament tabernacle. And thou shalt say unto them, whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers thereof that sojourn among you, that offerth a burnt offering of sacrifice. Look at verse nine closely with me. When people want to just talk about, oh, it's just a place and bringeth it not unto the what? door. the tabernacle of the congregation to offer it unto the Lord, even that man shall be cut off from among his people. You know what God said? God said, "You can't worship just any old you want to. You can't worship just anywhere you want to." He said, "If you don't bring the sacrifice down," and he was specific. If you don't bring the sacrifice down where? to the door of the tabernacle. It is not accepted. I don't care how sincere you are. I don't care how much that lamb cost you. I don't care how much it put you out. If you don't bring it down to the door, I am not going to be accepting it. And you will be cut off from among his people attempting to have a relationship with God away from the door of the tabernacle. It's a manifestation of being selfish. The house of God needs your presence. It needs your praise. When you faithfully attend the house of God, you are showing your support for the things of God. And it makes an impact on others. Well, I don't have to go to church. You're right. You're selfish cuz all you're thinking about is you. I can just stay here on my couch and watch you on on on the worldwide web. And if there was a way, if I knew people were in good health that live in this community that go to this church, if I knew they were in good health and they make it to Walmart, they make it to Dollywood and they make it to every place else, but on Sunday they they get on their couch. If I had the ability, I'd block them. Selfish. Well, I can be saved on my couch. I don't really know that you can. because you're selfish. Because you're only thinking about yourself. Because when we come together in the house of God, you know what my presence here says today? I support everything that goes on here. I support the word of God here. I support the doctrine of one God. I support the doctrine of water baptism. I support I I support I'm here. But invisible people can't support. Let me go on today. Maybe I'll save that for another night. Another day. Keep preaching this long. It might be night. He said, "You got to bring it to the door. You got to bring to the door. Let me go on." Can I tell you? And I just come to an end. Musicians come and start playing. Please just play softly. Do you realize there are things? Look up here at me now. There are things that are God's will that will never be revealed to you until you start coming to the door of the tabernacle. Are you saying the church hears the door? That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm glad you picked up on that. How is it the door? It's the place where the corporate body gathers together. And the Bible says, "Forsake not." Paul said, "Forsake not the assemblings of yourselves together." Somebody said, "Well, you know, uh, the Bible never mentions this and never meant there there's a lot of things the Bible doesn't specifically point out, but he's given us a brain to think." There's one group that they say because no musical instruments are mentioned in the Bible, there's no musical instruments mentioned in the Bible, therefore they have the doctrine of no music in their church. All right? Well, if they're going to hold true to that, the Bible never mentions pews. I'm I'm door. Play a little louder than that now. A little louder than that. Little louder than that. Little Come on. I want to say it again. There's things in God's There's things that it's God's will for you. They're presents waiting to be unwrapped. God's plan is for you to have them. God's will is for you to have them. We say, "Well, then why don't I have them? Why aren't you coming to the right place to get them?" Here's a little story in the Old Testament that totally backs it up. Moses and Joshua are going to distribute out the land of Canaan. It's a promised land. It's what they've been waiting on 40 years. Give me my land. Give me my acres. Give me my land. But there was a man that came out of Egypt that was not a rebel. He was not a rebel. He came out of Egypt. But the only problem he had, which was only a problem in that day of ignorance. The only problem that he had in that day of ignorance, he was had daughters, but he didn't have any sons. No males. No boys. And they were only giving land away, listen to me, ladies. They were only giving land away to boys. You had to come up and say, "Well, my daddy was this my daddy and I'm his son. This is my last name. Here's genealogy." And Moses and Joshua say, "Hey, here's the land. Here's the land, boy. Here's the land." But that was a group of girls that didn't have any brothers. And they started saying, "This is unfair. This is unjust. We don't get any land only because we're females. It's not right. Then the Bible says, everybody say, "The Bible says, do you know every injustice that's been done to you and I can find a balance at the door?" Numbers 27:2. Numbers 27:2. And they stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest and before the princes and before all the congregation. Somebody read it with me. By the door of the tabernacle of the congregation says it's not right. It's not fair only because he didn't have any sons. It's not right. And guess what Moses did? Moses stood there and Moses didn't have the answer. Mother-in-law, Moses didn't have the answer, but he said, "Girls, wait right here. I'm going to go talk to the Lord." And he went in and talked to the Lord. He said, "Lord, they had no they had no they had no sons." And it takes back up. Listen to God talk in verse number seven, chapter 27 of Numbers. This is God talking. Here's God. God God talking. God speaking. He says, "The daughters of Zalahad, speak right. Thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren, and thou shalt cause inheritance of their fathers to pass unto them." It was God's will all the time. God heard the murmuring. God heard their talking out on the street. God heard them in their tents talking, "It's not right, sister. It's not right, sister. It's not right, sister." God heard it. And God is saying, "I wish they would bring their not rights into the tabernacle at the door because I would reveal to them that it's not right. Give them their property." Oh, there's so much that could be revealed to us at the door at the door of the tabernacle. There's so much that could be revealed to us. There's so much every area of our lives today, God could reveal to you. Let me tell you, I'm not the best. Don't say nothing. And I know it's the truth. I'm not the best husband in the world, but I'm doing my best. And you know where I learned how to do my best? In the house of God. Do you do you know where do you know where I just I just have this pet peeve? I just have this pet peeve. Do you know where I got that pet peeve of I'm in public, my wife is in front of me. My wife don't follow me in public. And you say that's a little stupid. Well, it might be. But let me tell you something. That's my wife. That's my pride and joy. I ain't going to go claw hopping in the mall and she's like a little puppy behind me chasing after me. All right. It's my wife. You know, I'm not the best, but I'm trying to. Do you know who started me on the right path? A pastor that I watched get on the bus when we go on a we'd go on a youth trip. My pastor and his wife would walk out to that bus. And there wasn't a time that my pastor jumped up on that bus. He stood he'd let his wife get on that bus and then he'd get up. His wife needed something. He tended to her. Let me tell you something. You'd learn how to really be a good husband and a good father and a good wife in the house of God. You would learn how to break poverty. Oh, it's quiet in here today. You'd learn how to break poverty right here. You'd hear things in the house of God that change your life right here in the house of God. I'm going to tell you. There's a lesson about the door. And this is the door. God has made a door here for us this morning. Would you stand with me right now? I'm going to ask you right now to bow your heads. And I'm going to ask you to pray with all of your heart today that God would touch you and everybody in this room today. Oh, if you're not at the door right now, if you're not at the door right now, God would touch you right now. If you're not at the door right now, God would touch you right now. The name of Jesus. Come on, pray. Lift lift up prayer a little little. I care about sinners. Oh God, I care about sinners today. God, I care about sinners today. God, I care about sinners today. Pray. Pray with me right now. The door. The first place in the Bible the door is mentioned. The first place is mentioned. Had to do with worship. And the last place in the Bible the door do d o r door is mentioned. The last place door is mentioned in the Bible is revelation rapture. First place worship, last place rapture. There was a door in heaven. Listen to me for a moment. Are you ready for the door? Are you ready? Are you born again? Have you been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins? Have you received heaven's best gift, the gift of the Holy Ghost? Are you born again? Are you ready for that that that last door to open? Or are you too busy with life right now? Are you too tuned out right now? Is what I'm preaching today boring? And I wish Oh, let me tell you something. One of the greatest leaders that ever ruled was Alexander the Great. Alexander the Great is dying. He's on his deathbed. The man is more powerful than any other man. He's more wealthy than any other man. He's the most powerful wealthy man. And history bears this out. He's dying. Death is soon to take Alexander. He gathers his counsel around him. And he requests three things to be done as they carry his casket to the grave. He said, "When you carry my body to the grave, I want three things to happen. I want the best doctors of the empire to carry my casket because I want all eyes to see that even the finest physicians are powerless in the face of death. I want my pawbears to be the greatest doctors so that everybody will see the greatest doctor cannot save you from death. He said, "On my way to my grave, I want you to scatter gold coins and precious gems along the road to my grave." So that the world understands. The wealth we accumulate in life stays behind when we leave. My God. Throw jewels in the road cuz I want everybody to see. Somebody said so and so died. He was a multi-millionaire. How much did he leave? All of it. All of it. You're going to leave everything behind. And he said the third thing, "Let my hands dangle outside my coffin, visible to all, so that everyone knows, even the emperor, emperor of the world, leaves this life with empty hands." Trumpet could sound like that. John said, "I saw a door open. It's a rapture. I'm caught up." What are you fighting to keep right now? I'm not going to I'm not I'm not going to prolong this any. Are you interested in coming to the door today? Are you interested in the door today? I am. I want to see if you want to come to the door. I just liken the altar to the door today. Why don't we come down around the door and just worship the Lord? If you're a sinner today, he wants to save you. If you're a prodal today, he wants to receive you back. If you're a child of God doing your best, he wants to strengthen you today. He wants to help us to be without spot, without wrinkle. He wants to help us today. He wants to help us today. Oh God, I love you. Oh God, I magnify you today. God, I worship you today. Come on. The best doctors will not save you. Come on. The best doctors can't save you. Come on. Your wealth is not going to save you. You'll leave your life with empty hands. God, I love you today. Thank you for the door. God, thank you for the door this morning. God, thank you for the door today. God, if you're thankful you're standing at the door right now, lift up your voices and lift up your hands right now. Come on, lift them up right now. God, here I am to worship you, Lord. Oh God, here I am to worship you, God. God, here I am to praise you at the door today, God. God, knowledge is at the door. Oh yes, God. Oh God. Oh God. Oh God. Lord, life is unfair. God, it's unjust what's happened to me. God, it's not right what's happened to me. God, God, I didn't deserve it. God, I didn't deserve it. God, but oh, here in the door. Here in the door. Here in the door. Come on. He'll make it all right at the door. He'll make it right. He'll make it all right. Do what you say. Oh, God. Come on. The door. The door. He'll make it. All right.
