Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Examples written for our learning

  • Paul kept his body under subjection, lest after preaching to others he himself should be a castaway — no one is exempt from the pattern he preaches.
  • Israel's wilderness history — the cloud and the sea, the spiritual meat and drink, and the judgments that followed — happened for our example and was written for our admonition.
  • What was written aforetime was written for our learning: the Old Testament record is God's instruction for New Testament salvation, not a history to admire from a distance.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 9:27; 1 Corinthians 10:1-11; Romans 15:4

God gives the pattern in exact detail

  • The first command carried an exact consequence: in the day you eat of the tree, you shall surely die — God's words mean what they say.
  • Noah received the ark's materials and dimensions in detail, and the record's verdict is exact obedience: thus did Noah according to all that God commanded him.
  • Moses was shown the tabernacle's pattern on the mount and charged to make all things according to it — and the record closes the same way: thus did Moses according to all that the Lord commanded him.

Scriptures: Genesis 2:17; Genesis 6:14-15; Genesis 6:22; Exodus 25:8-9; Exodus 25:40; Exodus 40:16

The cost of departing from the pattern

  • At God's word Moses struck the rock and water came out for the congregation — the pattern obeyed brings the provision.
  • The second time, he struck instead of speaking to the rock; because he did not sanctify God before the people, the door to the land closed on him — the same man, the same rod, a different outcome.
  • Aaron was gathered to his people for the same rebellion at the rock, and Moses died within sight of the land he could not enter: God shows no partiality when the pattern is broken.

Scriptures: Exodus 17:5-6; Numbers 20:7-12; Numbers 20:24; Deuteronomy 34:1-5

The word still confronts its hearers

  • Paul persuaded his hearers concerning Jesus out of the law of Moses and the prophets from morning to evening; some believed and some believed not — exact preaching still divides its hearers.
  • Reasoning of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Paul made Felix tremble — the sermon closes by calling for the same posture: not an emotional decision, but obedience because it is in the Bible.

Scriptures: Acts 28:23-28; Acts 24:24-25

you stand with me today for the reading of God's Word if you're a guest here this morning we welcome you the first Apostolic Church we're so thankful with all the churches that you could have been attending today that you would choose first Apostolic Church as your place of worship and indeed from the bottom of my heart that is a tremendous compliment to this local church that you would come to worship God with us today and so good to have friends of the Shayne's here with us today and pastors from the great state from the great state of Michigan and we're so glad let's welcome them today was so thankful that you would come to worship the Lord with us 1st Corinthians chapter 10 and verse number 11 first Corinthians chapter 10 verse number 11 then we'll go to Romans chapter 15 and verse number 4 first Corinthians 10 and 11 Romans 15 and 4 now all these things happened unto them for examples or it says in samples which is examples and they are written for our admonition that word admonition means learning upon whom the ends of the world are come Romans chapter 15 verse 4 for whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope two places of Scripture that explained why we have the Old Testament why we have the Old Testament the Old Testament is for our admonition the Old Testament is for us to learn from the Old Testament is for us to look at and examine and see that how God dealt with people in the Old Testament that he is the same God today of which I'd like to teach preach the exactness of salvation the exactness precise the exactness of salvation Lord Jesus as I went to sleep last night Lord and I pray this prayer for this church to understand that when I laid my Bible down on my nightstand last night God you begin to deal with me throughout the night Lord this morning you begin to touch my heart when I was awakened you begin to pour things into my soul that I was to deliver here today god I ask you to anoint your servant this morning I ask you to touch our ears and touch our hearts today spirit of the Living God fall in this room let the spirit of Revelation fall upon our minds as we look at the Scriptures that our hearts burn within us O God father today I'm buying any demonic spirit that would try to do anything to bring harm and confusion to the preached Word of God again I asked for the spirit of Revelation to fall upon our minds and our hearts today and we'll give you the praise and the honor in Jesus name Amen amen in amen you may be seated the exactness the exactness of salvation the exactness paul was writing in first corinthians and paul said all these things happened unto them for examples all these things happened unto them for examples God even back in the Old Testament was doing things that he had the church in mind he had his church in mind the Bible I began in the middle of a discourse sometimes it's good to back up see what the subject matter is about first Corinthians chapter 9 verse number 27 Paul was talking about his flesh he was talking about his flesh and he said but I keep under my body and I bring it into subjection I keep under my body he said I'm always on guard and I bring my flesh under subjection lest that by any means when i have preached to others i myself should be a castaway there's no greater harm that's been done to people's face faith then the one that had preached faith to fall that's a true Paul said I watch I keep under my body I bring it into subjection lest after preaching to others I myself would become a castaway don't ever get in your mind that your pastor couldn't fall pastor don't you ever get in your mind I'm talking to myself now that you can't fall let he that think of he stand pay attention lest he fall there are sins of the flesh and there are sins of the Spirit sometimes men had conquered the sins of the flesh but sometimes they haven't conquered sins of the Spirit he says in verse 10 moreover brethren so he's still talking about this subject I would not have you to be ignorant how that all our fathers were under the cloud all passed through the sea that's Old Testament typology of spirit baptism and water baptism and all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea Moses was what they were baptized unto we are baptized unto Jesus and did all eat the same spiritual meat and did all drink the same spiritual drink for they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them and that rock was Christ but with many of them God was not well pleased so they were overthrown in the wilderness now these things were our examples to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted neither million-dollars worshippers of yourself as some of them were as it is written the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play neither let us commit fornication as some of them committed and fell in one day 20 or three and mm neither let us tempt Christ as some them also tempted and were destroyed of serpents neither murmur ye see that's what I was talking about just a moment ago you may not have the fleshly Siana fornication but you might have the spiritual sin of murmuring so you may be able to boast to brag that you've never committed infidelity but do you have murmuring out of your heart are you complaining all the time are you complaining about God are you complaining about the things of God he says neither murmur ye as some of them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer now all these things happened unto them for examples and they are written this is where we come in they are written for our admonition he's trying to present to us that this plan of salvation is not a broad way that you pick and choose which way you go he's trying to tell you it is precise again in Romans 15 and 4 he presents that the scriptures were written aforetime the Old Testament was written aforetime for our learning that we can look at the scripture and through patience I like what it says patience and hope patience and hope was God not exact when he spoke in Genesis chapter 2 verse 17 and he told our parents Adam and Eve he told our parents he said but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die was he not exact was he bagged when he said now there's a certain tree but I want to be politically correct and not name it now there's something you could do in the garden to mess it all up he would not be a righteous God and a fair god of just God if he just said you know you're gonna have to decide which trees you eat from in which you go his salvation and it was their salvation their obedience their salvation excuse me their salvation was wrapped up in their obedience as long as they were obedient to the Word of God and did not eat in that tree they enjoyed eternal life but was God not exact when God said thou shalt not eat of the tree and Adam and Eve ate of that tree and the exact God kept his word and they died both spiritually and physically you see church today the actions of sin that you and I battled the sin that is so prevalent in our world today the sin that you and I the sins the flesh that you and I battle with can only be destroyed by the exactness of salvation the only thing that can combat sin is when we understand an exactness of salvation that's what God does God works in exactness precision doesn't leave it up to man to decide it's too many people wanting to look at the Bible and then you'll talk about it it's one thing to reason with scripture it's another thing to reason with your mind well I don't understand why God would ask this I don't understand why God would ask this the first thing we need to be quiet and realize he is God well who does he think he is well he don't think he knows he's God and beside me there is none other there's no God before me and neither shall there be any God after me I am he which was and is and is to come so whatever God's Word says doesn't matter what Hollywood talkshow say about it doesn't matter how culture ridicules it if you want to be saved this Sunday morning you're going to have to embrace a God of the exact salvation did he not say to Noah in chapter 6 and verse number 14 make be an ark of gopher wood rooms shalt out making the art pitch it within and without with pitch and this is the fashion which thou shalt make make it of the limb of the ark shall be 300 cubits the breadth of it 50 cubits the high thirty cubits God didn't just say Noah hey it's going to flood you better build you something that can float no because peace of God of exactness he said I want you to live forever Adam and Eve you better listen to exactly what I say I want you to me the greatest life preserver in this world will have ever known but you got to build it after the exact fashion it's got to be this long and this wide and this high made of this wood pitched within and without with pitch and the Bible says in Genesis 622 thus did Noah thus did Noah according to all that God commanded him so did he he didn't get out there and decide well you know the timber is breaking just right we're getting an average of a 20-foot plank and it just don't break just right to be that many cubits long let's let's make it a little longer or how about a little shorter when no wonder God said he that added to or taken away from my word I don't take his part out of the book of life can I tell you that when it comes to God's Word Church the exactness of salvation we cannot add anything to God's Word neither can we take anything from God's Word it needs to be exactly the way God said God had a desire and a plan to dwell among Israel so in Exodus chapter 25 and verse number a he says to Moses in Exodus 25 and verse 8 let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them okay God's going to dwell among us let them make us a sanctuary let them make me a sanctuary now notice God didn't say just anything will do just however it suits you get a committee together pull a pole pull the people see how they like see what they're willing to give up see if you know the weather it's going to make me maid of 10 or gold let the people decide that no that's not how this god of the exact salvation goes Bible said let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them according to all that I shew thee after the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments thereof even so shall ye make it he said I'm gonna give you a pattern I'm going to show you the blueprints Moses on Mount Sinai you're going to get not only commandments but you're going to get a heavenly blueprints I'm gonna stretch it out I'm going to tell you the exact measurement of the courtyard I'm going to tell you the exact nature of how many doors go in I'm gonna tell you exactly how high it is I'm going to tell you exactly what kind of material to use for the footer I'm going to tell you exactly what kind of cloth to use for the for the fence I'm going to tell you exactly how wide and how deep the altar should be I'm going to tell you how wide and deep every piece of furniture every piece of furniture with the exception of one is without measure there's only one piece of furniture in the tabernacle that does not have a measurement the mercy seat because you cannot put a measurement on the mercy of God it's a matter of fact some may be sitting there today saying if he's such a providing precise God if it's such exactness I don't know that I can walk that way let me tell you if you will obey God's exact plan God will give you mercy along the way to walk before him but you're not going to give the unlimited amount of mercy until you're willing to put your human reasoning aside you're willing to put man-made traditions aside and you're willing to open up your Bible and say that this is a holy book because it is the word of a Living God this is a living book alive it is God's Word it's not a denomination it's not man's opinion that it is thus saith the word of the Lord you asked me why believe this Bible I've just explained to you why I believe this light should we just worship the Lord for a moment undateable side hallelujah Oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah Oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah the exactness of salvation Exodus 20:5 40 once again and look that they'll make them after their pattern which was shooed the in the mountain from the first time Moses saw the blueprints until its completion God was giving him a reminder Moses see to it that you make it like the pattern don't you get out here among these men and decide it needs to be longer higher or wider or less Moses I am a God of exactness I want this exactly no wonder the glory field it no wonder the cloud filled the tabernacle on the first day of operation until the Bible tells us that the priests could not minister the reason God filled it was that it was Exodus chapter 40 and verse number 16 this is the reason God filled it thus did Moses according to all that the LORD commanded him so did he asked me why God filled that tabernacle that one verse is the total summation of what God filled it because when God looked down from heaven he saw that man and men and the women of Israel had followed out the plan of salvation exactly the way that he said Adam and Eve died they failed the exactness Noah's generation died they failed the exactness Noah was saved he embraced the god of exactness Israel had God dwelling in the midst the type of salvation in the New Testament because Moses followed exactness of God but I have to share with you today a mistake that Moses made oh it was a costly mistake was a costly mistake you see from the time they left Egypt their hopes was that their one-day cross the Jordan River and stepped foot in Canaan Moses and his brother Aaron would probably oftentimes talk about when we get there when we get there Moses when we get there Aaron when we get there we're going to be in this land no longer in this wasteland of a wilderness but Moses made a mistake in Exodus chapter 17 verse number 5 the Bible said the people begin to murmur they begin to chide Moses and they begin to say things like why did you take us out of Egypt to die from thirst in the wilderness would to God we would stayed in Egypt would to God we would stayed in Egypt murmur and the Lord said unto Moses go on before the people and take with me the elders of Israel and by rod wherewith thou smote us the river take in that hand and go behold I will stand before thee there upon the rock and hold it and thou shalt smite the rock thou shalt smite the rock and there shall come out yet that shall come water out of it that the people may drink and Moses did so in the sight of the elders of God said you need water I'm the God of exactness take your rod not just any rod take the one that you use coming out of Egypt go to the rock not just any rock go to the rocket Horeb take the rod and smoke the rock water will come out now human reasoning Moses comes out maybe out of the tent so yeah we're gonna get water today we're gonna get water today where's your shovel at because we don't get water we got to have shovels to dig it's not how God said to do it well how did God say to do it he said you remember this he said yeah that was a rod we used to read see he said God said for me to go up to Horeb take this rod and smite the rock with this rod don't you hear human reasoning coming in they had some carnal folks among them he's crazy he's lost his mind you don't get water out of a rock by hitting it with a stick but sure enough Moses obeyed God and unbelievers became believers that day and thirsty people had their thirst which that day because a man on his way to Canaan obeyed what God said they drank water from the rock it's not my responsibility to explain to you how it happened it's just my responsibility to tell you that it did happen water out of the rock but some time went by and they got thirsty again and the Bible says and Numbers chapter 20 and verse number 7 they got thirsty again and they got the murmuring again and the Lord spake unto Moses saying take the rod gather they'll be assembly together thou and Aaron thy brother and be ye unto the rock before their eyes and it shall give forth his water and that shall bring forth to them water out of the rock so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink Moses took the rod from before the Lord as he commanded him and Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock and he said unto them hear now he rebels I don't think he's very happy that morning hear now ye rebels must we fetch you water out of the rock Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smoked the rock twice and the water came out abundantly and the congregation drank and their beast also and the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron because he believed me not to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given thee let's go on over let's let's let's go on over to verse 24 and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel because he rebelled against my word at the water of Mirabal let's go that's the death of that's the death of Aaron God says now he's not going in and God this god of exactness students this God of exactness says the reason he's not going in is that he did not follow my exact word I told him to speak to the rock and he smoked the rock I told Moses and Aaron this rock was a typology just like the Old Testament is a typology it is a typology it is a typology of salvation the Old Testament is Christ concealed the New Testament is Christ revealed the Old Testament was full of types and shadows and God had a type there he is the rock the Bible said that rock was Christ but that rock would only be crucified once only once would man take the rod of iron the judgment of iron and smite him at Calvary what happened at Calvary when they smote him his precious spotless blood of salvation flowed but the type was to be that now that he's been crucified once he don't have to be crucified every year because he was once and for all crucified for the sins past present future all we have to do now is go to the rock and speak to the rock Jesus help me God Jesus help me God I'm a sinner and the same rod of iron that brought his blood on Calvary's name is the same way we confess our sins we speak to that rock and it gives its blood to us but Moses and Aaron tampered with an Old Testament exactness Moses and Aaron messed up an Old Testament typology Moses allowed the people the Bible said you he was mad you could tell he was mad when he got up there he didn't greet them as dearly beloved were gathered here he greeted them by you bunch of rebels you know too many times men of God have failed the exactness of God due to either the praise of the people or the complaint of the people this is not a lickin your finger to see which way the wind is blowing in the house of God to see where we stand this is where a preacher gets up and opens up that old black leather back book he has soaked it in his tears he has soaked it in his prayers the Holy Ghost is come down upon him and stands before a people to say thus saith the word of the Lord if you want that in your life I wish you would stand right now and give God praise honor and glory I don't want you to lick your finger I don't want you to tell me what I want to hear I don't want you to lighten up but I don't want you to toughen up I want you to give it to me just like the Bible says come on if you believe that it's time for you to do something if you believe that today I'll talk first I'm come for now a half hour right now if you believe that today it's time for you to open up your mouth if not for you to say something to God what say ye to God what say ye to God today I'm gonna tell you brother Andy you may be seen it can be the people the people can either cause you to toughen up or the people can cause you the people can cause you to lighten up people can take you that listen people can run you into the mountain with pharisee ik ways of living or people can drive you off the mountain with carelessness in their lives nothing is seeing see sometimes the pulpit gets pulled nothing is sin and everything saying I remember when I first started pastoring here there was a lady wrote me a letter and asked me if and back then I had a lot more hair than I do today that's thirty five years ago had a lot more hair and I wore it straight down the middle part it straight down the middle I had two beautiful wings come outside I'll start passing this church a lady wrote me a letter and asked me if I would please park my hair to one side her reason being she felt like it any man that had hair parted straight down the middle had homosexual tendencies I assured her I'm not the only one worse hair right down the middle elder Evans had his hair back in those days right yeah yeah it did you stay and watch him turn the beautiful color of red here just said hi I got a letter one day asking for me to remove someone from the front pew because the woman was not wearing what this lady deem appropriate attire at the church see if y'all understand what I'm saying cuz people want to pull you this way and then there's people that come along and say we're living in a new day you know we're just living in a day we're never going to reach a culture with these old Pentecostal traditions that we got we're never going to reach a culture and all of this and unless unless you ever you're gonna have to really lighten up you ever really going to get in the end in the end group you're gonna have to really lighten up they want to pull us right over here and I'm gonna tell you where that generation will take us that generation will take us to another generation that says don't sing about the blood we don't like that people don't like to hear about blood early in the morning and then that generation will take us to another level to say you know there's a lot of ways you could get to heaven maybe Buddha's right maybe Muhammad is right maybe Middle Eastern meditation is right can I tell you we don't need to be way over here and we don't need to be way over there we need to embrace the God of exactness I want to know am i pastoring a church today that wants to be led by the exact salvation of God what name do we call upon come on what name do we call upon what name are we baptized in come on I'm talking about the only saving name Deuteronomy chapter okay mo Aaron is dead Aaron's gone Aaron never step one foot in the promised land Deuteronomy chapter 34 verse number one Moses went up from the plains of Moab until the mountain of Nebo to the top of Pisco that is over against Jericho and the Lord showed Moses all the land of Gilead and Dan and all of Nephi to lie in the land of ephraim and manasseh and all the land of Judah unto the utmost sea and the south and the plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees unto Zoar and the Lord said unto him this is the land which I swear unto Abraham and to Isaac and unto Jacob saying I will give it until I seed I have caused me to see it with mine eyes but thou shalt not go over a feather I've caused you to see it with your eyes but you'll never go over so Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab according to the word of the Lord can I tell you something not following God's exact plan of salvation can have you buried in Moab when God's perfect plan was for you to live in Canaan don't tell me that God just winks at our lack of fulfilled obedience don't tell me that God he so he knows the intent of your heart God just knew that Moses was mad that day come on God no God says no I am a God of the exactness of my word see the New Testament book about probably God today is we want a reason we want to reason among ourselves there's only one that you should reason with and he gave you the invitation of the Old Testament come now and let us reason when you start reasoning with other people outside of the word no don't don't don't don't be like that person some day that that day that asks a biblical question and when I started quoting scripture to the man the man said the man said I know no I want to know what you think I don't know what you think well buddy doesn't matter what I think it matters what the word says but y'all know we're living in that culture today y'all know we're living in the culture of reasoning together look at Acts chapter 28 verse number 23 a day in the life of the Apostle Paul and when they had appointed him a day there came many unto him into his lodging to whom he expounded and testify the kingdom of God persuading them concerning Jesus both out of the law of Moses and out of the prophets from morning to evening he took the Old Testament that was written for our learning our admonition and from the morning to the evening he spoke of Jesus Christ verse 24 and some believed the things which were spoken and some believed not I don't know about you pastors I don't know about y'all today but that one verse right there is giving me a lot of comfort because if there was some that walked away from Paul Ryder of over half of New Testament a man that was caught up into paradise and saw things that was not lawful for him to utter a man that was given so much revelation from heaven sister fuller a man that was given so much revelation from heaven that God had to put a thorn in his flesh a man that would stand and teach from the morning to the evening and when people walked away the Bible simply said some believed and some didn't I have had a lot of comfort there because if they would do that to Paul how much more would they do that to us of much lower spiritual experiences than what Paul had but you know don't fool yourself I wish I could live back in the days of Christ I wish I could live back in the days of the Apostles no you would be just like you are today there would be no different there would be no different if Peter was walking by in a shadow and people were popping up out of wheelchairs if you don't want to embrace the God of exactness you'll get with somebody and they'll start talking about well it should have been done this way and and he should give people notice when he comes by that poor was raped waiting on his ride and he ought to have done the essent and he ought to have done that and that man didn't get healed and he went right back to the way that he was on listen you can reason everything out some believed because they reasoned among themselves Paul must have heard him talking out in the yard some believed some said this is that others I don't know and the Bible says verse 25 and when they agreed not among themselves let me tell you something friend it's one reason we got all these crazy denominations today because they keep splitting off and spinning up and spinning up and spinning off because the ones that don't agree with absolute truth get them a little bit of truth and then they they can't all agree upon that this split all out from that they split off again the Bible says when they agreed not among themselves they departed after that Paul had spoken one word he stepped out in the yard he said I got one last verse for you all well spake the holy ghost by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers saying go unto this people and say hearing ye shall hear and not and shall not understand and seeing ye shall see and not proceed for the heart of this people is White's gross and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have they closed lest they should see with their eyes hear with their ears understand with their heart and should be converted and I should heal them he said excuse me I got one last verse it's been prophesied of you all because you all reason among yourselves you will not take the God of is I exactness you will not be obedient to the plan of God he said you see it but you can't understand it you hear it but you don't perceive it and as long as you see it people say well I can I can see that in the Bible I can see that if you can see it then obey it that's all God asks you to do well I see where you're coming from well if you see where I'm coming from why don't you obey it and go where I'm going to you see we've got to understand today if you see it in the scripture and you don't act upon it in the scripture it's not that nothing happens one more layer of callousness verse 28 be it known unto you that salvation that the salvation of God is sin unto the Gentiles and they that will hear it and when he had said these words the Jews departed and had great reasoning among themselves they reasoned it out they reasoned it out again the Apostle Paul acts 24 24 after certain days when Felix came with his wife Drusilla which was a Jewish he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ many here's a politician that says I want to hear about this plan I want to hear about this plan Paul came and as he what reasoned of righteousness temperance and judgment to come Felix trembled and answered go thy way from this time when I have a convenient season I will call for you can I tell you it is never recorded in the Bible that that convenient season ever came Paul tried to reason with him notice the three things he reasoned with him from number one he reasoned about righteousness he told about the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ he told about the only substance on earth of where we have our footing our foundation of where we stand on Christ the solid rock I stand he began to tell Felix about righteousness and how that righteousness could take away his sin take away the righteousness of Christ would take his sins away the righteousness that was provided in Jesus Christ would be his footing and then he spoke to him about temperance temperance is self-control it is commonly believed that Felix was a man that was out of control historians such as Josephus writes that Felix was a man addicted to all kinds of substances he was a man that was sex driven he was a man that was an alcoholic he was a man that had absolutely no control of himself and you know what Paul began to say to him there's a God that can give you temperance that word temperance there means self-control he said there's a god that can give you the footing to come out of sin there is a God that can give you the power to control your fleshly whims and the third thing he said and Felix there's a Judgment Day coming there's a Judgment Day coming we are living in a culture that wants to hear about self-help sermons we are living in a culture that wants to hear about my destiny you turn on you turn on religious broadcasting today and you just nameless as they say the word destiny more than they say the word Jesus my destiny my destiny my greatness my greatness my destiny my dear smile that all of us well and good but can I tell you destiny cannot become the motivation your motivation should not be bigger cars bigger houses and more money your motivation should be on that day when that trumpet sounds will I be ready to go in the rapture remember the rapture remember the rapture remember the rapture remember the rapture remember there's a place called heaven remember there's a place called hell come on Church John stirred me up all night long God has stirred me up all night long he is a God of exactness let me close the nest musicians would you come please listen to me very closely listen to me very closely there's a story in the Old Testament about a man named Abraham that was told to leave his land and his kin and there's one little mistake that Abraham made that would mushroom into a continual thorn in the side of Israel the Bible simply says God said Abraham leave your land that's the place you're at leave your kindred that's that tribe leave just you and Sarah leave but the Bible says he took lot with him now he could reason the best I can study a lot was Abraham's nephew the best that I could study is that Abraham's brother died and Abram took care of lot I can hear him reasoning can't you I mean surely he said leave everybody but Sarah surely will not talk about lot surely when I talk about lot so he took a lot with him the word lot means a veil it means a covering see sometimes when God calls us out we really can't enjoy fullness of God because we take a lot with us we take things we we begin to justify things well I know I'm holding on to this habit here but this habits not near as bad as what I gave up do you know if we just trick lot we'd go get to chapter later and the herdsman that that lot the neighbor Ham had families are fighting and he has to say to lot lot just look around in every direction whichever way you want to go a lot you just take off the Bible said that lot chose him the well water plains of Jordan because after all I reason look at that prosperity wouldn't dare stop them and quieter than the older wouldn't dare stop wouldn't dare stop for one minute to say you know what I'm just along for the ride Abraham you're the one God's talking to Abraham could you give me some guidance on which way to go he chose him the well-watered Plains have Sodom and pitched his tent notice this toward Sodom he didn't go to Sodom because he probably knew their wicked I don't want my family there but whatever you face your family toward you just get rid of you just get hold this now whatever you face your family toward is what's going to pull at them you pitch your tent towards Sodom and you're gonna have children they're gonna live that way you pitch your tent toward the church and the cross wasn't late err that tax Sodom Abraham had to send some people down there to get blot out of Sodom you too thought law it would have learned the lesson but he went right back to Sodom and God had to send him angels send him to Angels the angels came into lights house and the angel said a lot we got to leave here in the morning and we got a head to the mountain because God is going to destroy this place and if you don't get to the mountain your family will be destroyed he grabbed his wife the next morning and his two daughters but then something horrible happened he says to the messenger he said I know God gave us the exact plan go to the mountain don't look behind but could we change that plan just a little bit there's a little city out here called Zora it matter of fact it means little it's just a little city couldn't we go there couldn't we go there and the angel said I have accepted this and I believe he accepted it so that I could preach what I'm preaching this morning the angel said God said exactly go to the mountain but you're petitioning me to stop it's alright I'll accept this blot his two daughters and his wife got out and if you read it correctly they got disorder they got to surah but it was in Zorah that Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt brothers and sisters I beg you today had law evade the exactness of God his wife would have been busy looking upward to a mountain his wife would have been that's a honey honey the angel said look and look to the mountain and don't look back had they exact have they accepted the exact plan of God they would have had their minds on the mountain they would have been going toward the mountain but because they said can't we just stay right here he gave the opportunity for his wife to look back it's funny how this goes it's funny how the story goes they stepped out in the front yard and Lot's wife has been crystallized into a pillar of salt being a lot and the two daughters say we're afraid we're afraid let's go to the mountain and it was there in the mountain that he should have had a relationship with his wife it was there in the mountain that the two daughters should have been able to say hey mom and dad can have other children but you see when we don't follow the exact plan of God don't expect your children to follow the exact plan of God because you know what they do lot and his two daughters get up in the cave I can't relate to this I can't relate to this but you see when you leave the exactness of having faith in God's exactness sin will never make sense to you them two daughters are in that cave and they begin to say all the earth has been destroyed and there's no one to raise up seed to our father's name we'll never have children his two daughters one says I've got a plan what is it let's get father drunk let's get father drunk is it a mate it isn't amazing is it amazing that when you're running for your life the only thing them two girls can think about carrying is a bottle of wine man this is for our life you don't need the intoxicated things on this book this is for our life let's see what we do let's get daddy good and drunk tonight we'll get him so drunk I'll slip in get in bed with him he won't know it's his daughter he'll have a sexual relationship with me and tomorrow night you do that and and you know what both of the girls their plans work but the Bible tells us who the descendants were Moabites and ammonites God haters thorn in the side of Israel all the days of their life all because somebody reason the Sodom wasn't that bad of a place all because somebody reasons in themselves church would you stand with me this morning I don't know if you've noticed this or not the pastor's been stopping just a little bit earlier on Sunday because I believe it would be an absolute tragedy for us not to leave a little time for us to come around this altar and talk to God about the exactness the exactness gun oh you can reason I hear it already and please I'm not I'm stirring I'm stirred I really am inside my heart I have a love for God and I have love for you but I can hear it right now well I can love God the same back here in my pews I can't up there well God knows what's in my heart I don't have to stand up there at my hands lifted like this right here I don't have to talk to God knows how I feel today gonna tell you your reason it's wrong your reasoning is wrong yeah you can't stand back there and love God I'm not talking the meat nummy qualify something there's people in this room that are physically unable there's two kinds of people here today there are there are saints of God that are physically unable to come to this altar and I totally understand and I don't want to put any pressure on you at all we're putting pressure on you at all and there's simply people that have it yet made up their mind but when it comes time to come to the altar I think just any healthy child or the Most High God that ought to be a welcome sign to them then I get a time to come down around the earth I'm gonna go from listening to what the pastor says I'm gonna go from applying it to my life I may have some areas I need to pray about right now I want to invite the church into the altar this morning father in the name of Jesus if there's anyone on the sound of my voice they've not given their heart and their life to you God they're not ready for the rapture of the church they're not ready for they're not ready for that trumpet to sound their heart is meeting this morning because your spirit has been dealing with them today come on sir come on man step out of your pew right now make that grand walk to this altar today come on make that grand walk to this altar today God make that grand walk to this altar right now if you would if you just move up closer to the altar and give up need to be baptized in your name but God I don't want to do I don't have to do anything out of an emotion God I want him to do it because they know that it's right they know that it's the Word of God Oh God few people with the Holy Ghost today God let people speak in that heavenly language today God Lord let there be the healing that will be divine healing yah I pray over our families today God
