have your bibles and return with me i'm going to read i'm going to read from three passages of scripture and i'm going to tell you as you look for genesis 2 and 18. as you look for that verse brother grace i don't know the last time that i have studied for a sermon that i fought back tears as i prepared this message today i fought back tears and so if this message isn't for anybody today the message the message is for me i thought back tears of several times i just had my eyes watered to the point i couldn't see my text but church god loves us i said god loves us god loves us genesis 2 and 18 and the lord god said it is not good that man should be alone i will make him a help meet for him the book of luke chapter 11 verse number 13. god said it was not good that man would be alone alone luke 11 and verse number 13 jesus said if ye then being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more shall your heavenly father give the holy spirit to them that ask him acts chapter 2 and i hope your bible just falls open right now acts chapter 2 verse number 38 then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost for a few moments today and i pray and hope to god that we have a tremendous altar service but i want to minister to you the subject the god connection the god connection father i love you this morning lord i thank you god that there's a sound that went up from this place that brought your glory down god you are the life changer god you are the healer and the deliverer and the waymaker god you are our all in our all god for the next few moments anoint my lips of clay that god that i may encourage the discouraged god that i may cause lord light to shine upon a blinded eye by the authority of the name of jesus christ i bind the blinder today i bind the spirit of this world that blinds people's minds to the remedy and the redemption that's in your great name lord let the holy ghost flow through this service this morning we pull down strongholds in the name of jesus christ oh god we speak peace in the name of jesus christ today amen and amen in jesus name give the lord a thunderous handclap offering come on the god the god connection i was inspired to minister this subject if you'll remember a week ago i stood here in explaining why we have the bible is a revelation an inspiration and illumination that why we have the bible is because our god whom we worship desire to reveal his nature to us our god desire to reveal what he is like and i want to say a pause for a moment jesus christ has never done us nothing but good he's a good god he's a good god and we praise him because he's a good god so i was inspired to minister revelation inspiration and illumination wednesday night we had a tremendous move of a holy ghost we taught on simply the holy ghost wednesday night at the end of the service um sister megan mayo wanted to be baptized in jesus name and we baptized her in the lovely name of jesus and she received the gift of the holy ghost on wednesday night isn't that great and we were emphasizing praying in tongues and we came up around the altar and we prayed in the holy ghost for some time we prayed in other tongues we built up ourselves we built up ourselves on our most holy faith jude says praying in the holy ghost and uh there's a lot trying to tear us down right now amen there's a lot trying to tear you down but god has given us a sure method of building ourselves up when the world wants to tear you down god has given the holy ghost baptized child of god a way to lift themselves up man we had a time of praying in the holy ghost here wednesday night shortly after a precious precious person that's been attending church here who has been taught that if you speak in tongues in the church that there should be an interpreter and of course where the misunderstanding for this is the interpreter comes with the gift of tongues and interpretation praying in the holy ghost peter never called it in acts chapter 2 and in acts chapter 10 peter never called it the gift of tongues he called it exactly what it what it is the gift of the holy ghost the gift of the holy ghost which god gives you a sign and i'm glad that god has given us a sign could you imagine the confusion can you imagine the confusion that would be if god hadn't given us a sign someone said well i got joy and so that's what i didn't get any joy some would say well i got this well i didn't get it god gave us a universal sign that the holy ghost has taken up residence and that is you speak and another tongue a heavenly a heavenly language now on the subject of tongues and this is where you know tongues does an interesting thing when god confused the tongue in the 11th chapter of genesis he confused their languages there god did a miraculous work god did a miraculous work and confused their languages to fulfill his will and tongues of the tower of babel separated people all right but on the day of pentecost when they begin speaking in other tongues when the holy ghost filled them it began to draw people to them isn't that amazing and still today on the subject of tongues speaking in tongues either drives people out of the church or in the church it either drives them out well i don't want any of that gibberish i don't want any of that i don't want i don't want any of that or it causes people to get curious enough to study and hungry enough to receive it because let me give you an undeniable biblical fact today anytime you mix repentance and obedience you will have a move of god's spirit you cannot be repented and obedient and god pass it by god will always come upon repentance and he'll always come up on obedience and he'll come upon it with his spirit aren't you thankful for that this morning could we just worship him right now can we just worship god oh god i worship you lord i thank you god i worship you god so i was i was going down that road of studying today because i do want to help people that have been misled on the day of pentecost they did not receive the gift of tongues they received the gift of the holy ghost they received the gift of the holy ghost i began to read in genesis chapter 2 where almighty god made a statement about man he said it is not good for man to be alone for man to be alone i will make him a help mate or a help meet it is not good that man is alone alone i will make him a help me i will make him one that is suitable for his weakness i see that man is alone and i want to drive this home i see that man is alone and so therefore i will create something to be a help to him because he is alone social psychologists define loneliness as the gap between the social connections you would like to have and those you feel you experience loneliness have i struck a chord yet loneliness according to a 2018 report 22 of all adults in the united states say they often or always feel lonely or socially isolated a national 2019 survey found that 61 of course this would all have to do with the battle the grip that we've been in with covet isolation self-isolation self-distance and all of all of the things that we are doing to weave around this thing called covet 2019 survey found that 61 of americans report feeling lonely it'd be all right to say man but we can confess to a lot of things but we sure do like to hide that feeling of loneliness books like bowling alone that was written in 2000 by robert putin have highlighted the decline of social capital in the united states but more recently loneliness has become a serious issue of public health 2017 a former u.s surgeon general a former u.s surgeon general called loneliness a public health epidemic the united kingdom has appointed a minister for loneliness the year after the surgeon general made his statement i read about loneliness and this is one of the things that stuck out to me we are connected to everyone but we actually touch no one there is more people that are connected connected to this one and that one but when you start talking to them they would admit to you that i really feel lonely i really feel alone well since it was god that first mentions the word alone it was god that also had the remedy for loneliness aren't you thankful for that if you're here today and you may not want to stand to your feet and cheer on the preaching today because i too have touched the wells spring of your tear ducts and you're beginning to say that's what i feel i feel alone that's what i feel pastor come on pastor help me what i'm going to today i'm reaching for you today i'm reaching for you today it was god that said about man in the very beginning it is not good so i don't have to do a lot of research although i'm going to read more and more about loneliness because i believe in the years to come that we're going to have a generation in a society of people that are going to need to be ministered to in the area of loneliness it was god that said that man it was god so i don't have to really do a lot of research it was our creator it was god that said it is not good for man to be alone i will make him a help mate i will make him something suitable for his loneliness now we understand today that man failed and when man fell in the garden and sin entered human race we do understand that there was a tremendous disconnect between man and god i do not believe because the help mate or the help meet was created for man before his fall i do not believe that the woman was all man needed for the cure for loneliness i believe it was god man and woman the great connection god man man was cr connected to woman man and woman were connected to god but when sin entered the human race as at pulling a plug out of the wall and the lamp turns off when man sinned there was the disconnect the light of man went out the life of man went out everything about man and man begins to live now and woman in the loneliness of the darkness but i am thankful this morning that just as god our creator created a help meet for man to battle the loneliness god almighty reconnected us through the power of the holy ghost and the experience of the holy ghost the holy ghost oh how the enemy oh how the enemy would like to drive lonely people away from the holy ghost on the subject of tongues how the enemy would so like to to magnify the sign that the holy ghost has come and not the purpose for the holiness holy ghost listen to me today god has given us the holy ghost not so that we can have a little religious trinket on our on our religious charms but god has given us the holy ghost to battle the loneliness that wants to overtake us and control us god has given us the gift of the holy ghost i'm so thankful it was in john chapter 14 and verse number one and you have to realize with me that this conversation took place at the last supper supper this conversation took place as jesus was telling that somebody will betray me this night all of you will leave me peter you will deny me on and on it goes so the hour is very somber and serious jesus would feel it needful in john 14 1 to say these words let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me he begins a message on spiritual heart trouble can i tell you if eating the wrong food can clog up our arteries then loneliness can give us heart trouble like we have never experienced in all of our lives loneliness can drive us to make decisions that we would have never made while we were connected loneliness will cause us to think things and even hear voices that are not even there jesus said i don't want you to have a troubled heart he goes on down and just for time's sake i want to go down to verse 15 of the same chapter because he addresses that he's going to he's going to leave let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me in my father's house are many mansions i go away and this is the part that the loneliness i am going to go away from you you are not going to see me again i'm going to go away but if i go away i will come again and receive you unto myself now don't jump to the end at the rapture for when he says i will come again and receive you unto myself he's not referring to the rapture he is referring to that temporary absence from him when they watch him ascend into heaven but they're temporarily just for a few days not going to be able to see him but he gave them a promise i will come again and receive you unto myself he's talking about this precious gift of the holy ghost for in verse number 15 of the same chapter jesus says to them if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter look at that he shall give you another comforter another another temperature why because jesus was their comforter the bodily presence of god robed in flesh was a comforter to them now what the word comforter means is one called along by your side to be your aide one called along by your side to be one pleading for you as in a court of law one called along by your side to speak for you one called along by your side to help you while jesus was with them as god robed in flesh he was their comforter there was not a pharisee that they feared he could tie them up with one hand behind his back with his wisdom there was not a demon that they feared because he sent demons whimpering away like dogs that had been hit by a rock there was not a sickness that they had to turn their back on he could heal blind eyes he could open up ears he could cause the lame to begin to walk there wasn't even the finality of death that they had to fear because he could stand at the tomb of lazarus and he could say lazarus come forth do you understand what a comforter get hungry no problem i can take a little boy's lunch and feed a multitude hey what a what a comforter he was the spokesman for them he was the one that led the way but he said let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you behold i go away to prepare a place for you come on he's not talking about building mansions for us to live in he's not talking we could we can put that funeral rhetoric to the side we can we can say things like you know it took him just a few days to make the earth he's been gone 2 000 years building mansions oh what it must be that's not biblically correct when he said i go away to prepare a place for you he's talking about being a mediator between you and god and he said no man cometh unto the father but by me and then he said if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter there's another comforter that's coming your way that he may abide with you forever please watch this closely in verse 17. even the spirit of truth the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive they're going to get another comforter it's going to be the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not the world can't receive the spirit of truth because the world does not see the spirit of truth neither knoweth him but ye know him you know him jesus is talking to the disciples you know the spirit of truth the spirit of truth but ye know him for he dwelleth he who the spirit of truth dwelleth with you and shall be in you now let me show you something just keep your place there just keep your place there for just a for for just for just a moment jesus said in john 14 and 6 jesus saith unto them i am the way the truth the life no man come up unto the father but by me he said i am the way i am the truth he is the embodiment of truth but he is not going to stay on earth he is going to become our mediator but the spirit of truth was in him and so he says to them he says to them in verse 17 i want to read it again even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not neither knoweth him but you know him you know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you what did he say in verse number 16 i will give you a what another what comforter look at verse 18 i will not leave you comfortless i will come to you do you understand what we have when we have the holy ghost we have the spirit of truth we have the spirit of jesus we have oh thank you jesus i i'm sorry but i'm getting beside myself a little bit i i'm so thankful today a lot of people well if jesus was here if i could just see jesus and and they want to you know that we'll we'll elevate people and there there there's people on the speaking circuit that that they're there because they're going to tell you i have visibly seen the lord jesus i'm not here to deny that or to affirm that they have seen jesus but i'm not going to make a big deal of it because i have the spirit that was in him and just like oh i have the spirit and if we can just understand tongues is wonderful but understand why he gave us the holy ghost he said i will not leave you comfortless i will come unto you go down to verse number go down to verse number 26 chapter 14. jesus is about the comforter which is the holy ghost whom the father will send in my name he shall teach you all things and bring you and bring all things to remembrance whatsoever i have said to you now let's look at this today let's get ready to really praise god for what we have because i hope that i can help people with their frustrations of speaking in tongues i believe that if you'll just get your mind on the comforter tongues will take care of itself i believe tongues will just take care of itself there's too many people frustrated over the sign and not rejoicing over the benefits he is called alongside he is here to be our aide he is here to be our helper but now the comforter is our teacher well brother carpenter i just really don't know what to do well brother carpenter i just really i wish i really wish i knew i knew what to do in this situation i really wish i knew what to do well i got good news for you begin to worship god and let the comforter get activated in your life because the bible says that he will the bible says when the holy ghost will come that he will teach is that we're teach there he will what teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever i have said to you so not only is the holy ghost a comforter that is there but he is our teacher he is going to teach you in life he is going to help you listen he's going to help you make moves in your life and i'd like you a few witnesses here today he's going to help you make some moves in your life that you want to make but something about the holy ghost is just don't make that move right now just stay put sometimes the holy ghost begins to teach us some things the holy ghost becomes on when we want to get in our flesh and make some moves in our life it's that holy ghost that comes in and says just stay right puts just stay put don't go anywhere just stay right pushed stay right where you're at because i've got something coming your way and how many of you today can rejoice with me right now and say i'm so glad i didn't make that move i'm so glad i didn't do xyz i'm so could we just thank god today the holy ghost not only is the holy ghost a teacher not only the holy ghost of comfort or an aide but in john chapter 7 verse number 37 go to john 7 37 with me now in the last day that great day of the feast jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst thirst let him come unto me and drink he that believeth on me as the scripture has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water but this spake he of the spirit which they that believe on him should receive for the holy ghost was not yet given because that jesus was not yet glorified look at this that thirsting part of us come on let's all admit it we yearn for something we get thirsty for something look how rich you are i don't care how all together you think you are we all have times that we yearn or we thirst for something the refrigerator's full but we're still yearning the bank account is full but we're still yearning you know what that is don't you it's the holy ghost that we thirst for it's the spirit of god you see everything doesn't have to fall apart in your life for you to get hungry sometimes god lets things fall apart because we ought to get hungry because it's just right to get hungry we we we ought to realize that when we lose our appetite boy we're in a day that have you eat today have you lost your appetite in all of this you know what i'm concerned about also have we lost our spiritual appetite oh where is the day gone when we just knew if i could make it to church tonight everything's gonna be all right if i can just make it to the house of god oh because why because he's got a drink that's gonna satisfy me he's got a touch that's gonna if i can just make it to church y'all know what i'm talking about this morning i can just make it to the house of god or if i can just make it to the prayer room oh the holy ghost will be that which will satisfy our thirst but here's what we've got to understand you're not going to get the holy ghost alone now don't anybody take me to test well i was by myself when i got it i'm not talking about being by yourself i'm talking about having the holy ghost you're not going to get it alone the holy ghost will not fully work in your life if he works and i want to preface it by saying if he works alone you're going to notice something that when they came and arrested jesus christ the prophecy was smite the shepherd and the sheep shall be scattered because that's the grand tool of satan is to scatter the church we are better together we are stronger together and we are meant to be together smite the shepherd and the sheep shall be scattered and they were but three days later he appears to them and look at an interesting word that happens in their life luke 24 52 and they worshiped him and returned to jerusalem with great joy and just for time's sake i'm going to have to really hit these and they worship them and they worshipped him excuse me and they who's the they the they is the scattered that came back together after the resurrection that's right that's who the they are the enemy is at work trying to scatter us and tries to tell you that you can make it without the others you can't god didn't design you to make it that way and i'll show you biblically in a moment acts chapter one verse number two or excuse me acts chapter one verse number 12 then return they emphasis then return they into jerusalem from the mount called olivet which is from jerusalem a sabbath day's journey and when they were come in they went up into an upper room where abode peter james it gives the whole list of them verse 14 these all continued in one accord in prayer and supplication with the women and mary the mother of jesus and with his brethren you will notice it is a they it is a they smite the shepherd sheep shall be scattered resurrect the shepherd and the sheep come back together if there's ever been a day if there's ever been a day that you need the body you need the body right now if we have ever been in a season i don't advocate i don't advocate getting away from the body i don't take a break from i don't t listen i may take a break from my routine of preaching but i don't take a break from being a part of the body there is strength in the body there is power in the body there is direction in the body there is no lone rangers there's no superheroes there's no wonder women no batman we are all part of one big body and we need each other come on oh part of being lonely is getting a wrong spirit you can get a bad spirit about being lonely and want to tie your hands to which you say if they want to have something to do with me they're going to have to come and initiate it you're going to die spiritually with that mentality the bible says he that has friends must first show himself friendly you gotta reach out because your brother has strength your sister has strength yeah but you don't know they're flawed up i got news for you sweetheart we're all flawed up we're all messed up look close enough on any of us and we got flaws but we need each other lonely nestle said it we need each other so many times this body you don't even know it but so many times this body has spoken to me men and women that have never preached a sermon never been invited to preach a camp men and women whose names would would would not even be known outside of this church have ministered to your pastor have ministered to me the other day brother dean bolentine just said to me pastor we need each other pastor we need each other he looked at me of course y'all know brother dean he's a big cut up and everything but man he wasn't cutting up with pastor that day he said pastor we got to have each other pastor we need one another listen you not only need the family you go home with today but you need the people sitting in this room right now you you not only need the family you're driving home with today you need the people that are in this he just reached out to me and he said brother carpenter we need each other let's pray for unity let's pray for unity is what brother dean said and when he said that i thought that's exactly what the devil wants to do the devil wants to divide the church the devil wants to bring a season upon us to where we get scattered abroad we get to thinking we can make it here without we can't make it without each other we can't make it without each other and y'all know i i believe god purchased healing i believe that salvation and healing go hand in hand i believe that we have a biblical right to stand on the stripes of jesus back and proclaim healing and trust god for healing and if you're a child of god you can receive what i call a temporary healing or you can receive an ultimate healing because somebody dies doesn't mean they didn't have faith it may mean it could mean that in the eyes of almighty god and those are things left up to heaven those are things left up to heaven none of us we don't have all the facts about why somebody got healed and why they didn't get healed all right somebody may not have somebody may have got healed not because they had so much faith it was because god's got so much mercy maybe that person wasn't ready to go out into eternity and god loved them too much to let them die in the condition they were in and god said i'm going to put them in another service and i'm going to give them one more chance sister sandra and her husband both some time ago went through some health issues and i have never sister carpenter seen a more balanced family i have never seen a more balanced family face some health issues like brother sister ammons did what i mean by balance is they begin to first look at what they could do on their own to correct their health issues that they had and then they placed their faith in god and both of them came out of the health issues and both of them give praise and glory to god all right but sister hammond said something to me in the midst of that she said you know brother carpenter everybody don't get healed now i know that i know that but but let me let me show you what she added to it she said but carpenter everybody doesn't get healed she said if everybody got healed at our church said our church people would come to our church because you could get healed at our church it would be known as the church where you get your healing but it's not just that it's the church where we want you to meet our savior today at the end of the service here in a few moments we're going to baptize a precious lady that came sunday night she told her friend dave she said is your church open tonight here they have a church and she came in in a wheelchair and she's been diagnosed that unless she gets a miracle physically she will die unless she gets a miracle physically she will die she came last sunday night we prayed for her for healing we pray for her right here in this altar ronda carpenter connected with her this week been going to her house been going around her this week been taken care of this week been talking to her the good word of god they rolled her in this morning she wants to get baptized in jesus name this morning do i want that precious lady to be healed well absolutely but the ultimate thing is is not a healing but bible salvation to come into her life through the remission of sins and the infilling of the holy ghost that's the ultimate they somebody say they the holy ghost came in acts chapter two verse number one and when the day of pentecost was fully come they were all with one accord in one place suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind he filled all the housework they were sitting and there appeared unto them clothing tongues like as a fire and it set upon each of them and they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance can i tell you with everything going on around us today from racism and all the things going on in political realms today dividing dividing dividing dividing we cannot allow it to divide the church the holy ghost is the great reconnector of god when god gave them the holy ghost on the day of pentecost he reconnected us we're now not alone we have god inside of us i cannot see him but the bible said that we are the body of christ we are the body of christ oh hallelujah we are the body of christ oh hallelujah my god i feel the holy ghost right now brother nolan on that day of pentecost they gathered together and when the holy ghost came and reconnected them they were all doing the same thing at the same time they were all speaking in a heavenly language at the same time god gave them that universal sign but let me show you what was happening let me show you what was happening in first corinthians chapter 12 verse number 13. first corinthians chapter 12 verse number 13. four by one spirit that's what happened at pentecost four by one spirit are we all baptized into one body whether we be jews or gentiles whether we be bond or free and have been all made to drink into one spirit we are now a spiritual body we are a spiritual body tonight to this morning we are a spiritual body i want you to get a hold of that we are a spiritual body but the church at corinth the church at corinth begin to believe that they didn't need one another and just for a moment i've run out of time but just for a moment this is where the gift of tongues is addressed just for a moment he talks about in chapter 12 verses 1 through 12 he talks about the gifts the spiritual gifts hear this now make a note of this the holy ghost is not one of the spiritual gifts the holy ghost is the gift that puts us all into one body but now the one body has nine spiritual gifts that minister to that body the church triumphant that's why there has never been a group of people last as long as the church has the church was birthed 2 000 years ago and she is still strong while other kingdoms have come and gone the church marches forward because we are filled with the power of the resurrector we are filled with the power of the holy ghost the bible the word the church marches forward nine spiritual gifts minister to this body verse 13 for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body whether jews are gentiles whether bond are free we've all been made to drink into one spirit for the body is not one member but many if the foot shall say because i am not of the hand i am not of the body is it therefore not of the body if the ear and what paul uses to that church there is a literal body having a conversation that the ear says or the the the feet say because they're not the hands i don't want to be a part of the body and the ear says because i'm not the eye i don't want to be a part of the body that's foolishness whatever part of the body god has made you be content that you are in the body you never want to get away from the body you got to understand there's power in the body you're the feet right now but you'll never reach you'll never get in your possession what you need without the hand you're the ear right now but you'll never see what god has got for you without the eye you've got to understand the trick of the enemy is separation the trick of the enemy is isolation and the ultimate trick of the enemy is loneliness to set in loneliness i close sister carpenter brother white and to those of you that have been appointed go get our precious sister ready for baptism loneliness i'm going to tell you how loneliness can do you in numbers chapter 11 verse number 13 pay close attention to this in numbers chapter 11 verse number 13 moses is very frustrated anybody ever been frustrated in this room i know you don't want to raise your hand that you're lonely but how many frustrated you either have been frustrated right boy look at that look at that i promise you i couldn't get the hands on loneliness that's just something we don't want to admit that's just something we don't want to admit that's why when pastors set you down and the very word loneliness comes out that's why immediately dry eyes fill up with tears because there's something deep inside of you that's trying to reconnect today trying to reconnect show you how powerful loneliness is moses is trying to get moses is trying to get the children of israel to the promised land but they are rebellious they're stubborn they're stiff neck he's brought them out of egypt but egypt's not out of them verse number 13 god moses is having a conversation with god moses says this to god in numbers 11 13 whence should i give flesh unto all this people for they weep unto me saying give us flesh that we may eat i am not able to bear all this people catch that i am not able to bear all these people alone because it is too heavy for me i can't do this alone thank you moses thank you moses for what you just said because most leaders will never admit they're alone but he stands in the presence of god he says god you see you see these people they want food and they're crying at my doorstep for food god i can't give them food i can't feed these people alone it's too heavy for me verse 15 and if thou god deal thus with me kill me god is this god did you did you bring me out here to solve all their problems would you go ahead and put me out of my misery would you go ahead and kill me i pray thee out of the head if i have found favor in thy sight let me not see my wretchedness in other words god i don't have the answer for this they're whining wanting water they're whining wanting food they're whining that i don't know what i'm doing they're whining one god i just want to die i can't do this alone god said i got the remedy brother after god said i've got the remedy look at god's remedy in chapter in verse number 16. look at god's remedy church and the lord said unto moses gather unto me seventy men of the elders of israel whom thou knowest to be elders of the people and officers over them and bring them under the tabernacle of the congregation that they may stand there with thee and i will come down and talk with thee there and i will take of the spirit which is upon thee and i will put it upon them and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee that thou bear it not thyself alone this is god's
