oh just lift up your hands with your Bible today Lord we thank you for your move we thank you for your touch God I never want to take it for granted God how you move this morning thank you God for how you move with your power and your might Lord I thank you God for everything that you've done God I thank you in advance for the things that we'll find out later today and later this week of what you've already done Lord we give you praise give you thanks turn with me in your Bibles to the book of Nehemiah Nehemiah chapter 1 verse number 11 how many's thankful today for a wonderful move of God thank you Lord we have felt the spirit of God now before we go home we need to hear from the word from the word of God Nehemiah chapter 1 and verse number 11 the prayer of Nehemiah oh Lord I beseech thee let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant and to the prayer of thy servants who desire to fear thy name and prosper I pray thee thy servant this day Grant him Mercy in the sight of this man for I was the king's cup Bearer I want to continue what we started last week on the Nehemiah University I believe that we're going to learn some things from the book of Nehemiah that are going to be applicable into our daily lives and our marriages and our families and our witness the Nehemiah University pray a prayer with me Father we thank you for your word again Lord we thank you for the moving of your spirit God I thank you Lord that as your people worship you that your presence is made manifest in this sanctuary Lord for the next few moments touch my heart help me God to feed your sheep help me God to impart some word to them that they can apply to their lives God we'll give you the praise and the honor and the glory you're worthy of it Lord you're worthy of it God in jesus' name we pray amen amen Give the Lord a hand of Praise come on a good hand of Praise a thankful hand of praise the Nehemiah University you may be seated the Nehemiah University part two Nehemiah this man had all the right connections he had all the right connections the right connections he was linked up to the right connections he was joined to the right connections of course the ultimate connection that you and I must be connected to we must be linked up with we must be we must be joined to and that is God Amen we've got to have we've got to have the god connection but not only did Ne Nehemiah have the god connection Nehemiah was connected to other people in his life Nehemiah was connected to other people who shared his same values his same voice and his same vision he was not only connected to God but through God God connected him to other people in his life that shared the same vision the same values and had the same voice but not only that God was able to connect Nehemiah with people who were not even worshippers of Jehovah they were powerful people but they were not worshippers of Jehovah they were Kings captains Pagan Kings Pagan captain captains powerful people in the world but God was able to connect Nehemiah to them and give Nehemiah favor in their eyes he gave Nehemiah favor there were people that did things for Nehemiah that afterwards stood back and said I don't even know why I did this but I did I don't I don't even know why this was allowed to happen we don't normally do things like this I can tell you why when you've got the right God connection and you've got the right people connection God's going to give you the right favor with people that are around that are around your life I I I I think about I I think about God's favor I think about Connections that God has given that have played a role that have played a role in Miracles that I have seen in this church I have seen God perform miracles in this church through people that are not even of this faith and not they're not attenders here at the church but I I've seen God work through these people to bless the kingdom of God I remember up on the hill when we were building our gymnasium and of course as our custom is we pay as we go we had raised enough money to put the steel up we'd raised enough money to pour the floor we'd raised enough money um for the shell of the gymnasium up on the hill when the architect called me one afternoon and said hey I need you to come by the office something's come up and uh so I went down to his office and I sat there and he said hey we just discovered that um there has got to you got to have a fire hydron so many feet away from that building they're requiring you to have a fire hydrant there and um he said I went down 321 and I went down William Blunt and he said the closest and I'm not going to throw numbers out because it's been so long ago I forgot to make a long story short they were going to have to bring a a 6in water man from 321 they were going to have to bring it down one side of the highway they were going to have to bore under the highway they were going to have to bore under William blunt and then as we would have it we built that gym as far to the back of the property as we could build it and they were going to have to run it all the way back there and he said uh we're looking at somewhere around we're looking at somewhere around $100,000 and some change and I'm thinking boy I'd like to just do the change part of this all right but you don't know how when you're paying as you go and I've often said robbing Peter to pay Paul and hiding it from James and John I mean you're paying as you go how um gut punched I felt in that architect's office that day when he said $100,000 for a fire hydron $100,000 and you know we were too far we the building's up it's kind of like he he just kind of says this is where we're at pastor this is just where you're at and I accepted it for what it was and I was just I was just about to go out the door I can remember that detail when he said to me he said now I remember over in West Tennessee I did a job matter of fact it was a gymnasium it was way out in a rural area and the state was requiring them to have a fire hydrant and said they got the volunteer fire department to sign off that they could fight that fire uh without the aid of a a fire hydrant being there and he said I if if you know anybody if you know anybody the Blunt County volunteer fire department if you know anybody there said feel free to reach out to them and like that it came to me my wife my mother-in-law was friends with a family named jural and Linda Kirby all right years ago they were friends with Geral and Linda Kirby and uh they used Geral and Linda used to babysit first lady sister Carpenter when she was a little bitty baby girl they would just babysit her all the time and and and and they they grew fond of that little bitty baby girl I remember talking to Mr Kirby one night he was talking about you know we used to babysit so you know what I did I made a beine over the they they owned a carpet store at that time Kirby's carpet and I made a beeline over that the store and I met Gerald Kirby and uh I said to him we start talking I want to talk about fire hydrant and he started talking about oh how cute Penny oh she was the cutest little thing and I said oh she still is she's dropped down gorgeous I mean she she she and we and we just and I was trying to get him into fire hydrant mode and I was trying to get him into all that and he was just want to tell me how she'd lay on the bed and they would feed her and how she would do this and oh he was just smiling finally I said Mr Kirby I said um it's Friday afternoon I said Mr Kirby they're telling me that I have to have a fire hydrant at this new gym that we're building behind our church and they're telling me that's got to come up through 321 cross 321 come under William Blunt All and it's $100,000 but they told me Mr Kirby that if I could get the volunteer fire department to sign off that they could fight the the a fire without the aid of a fire hydrant that the state of Tennessee will will accept that and he stood back and he said you know we just bought a brand new tanker truck and he said you know we just bought it and said it can hold so many gallons of of water and and and he said I tell you what we've got a banquet tonight and of course after all Mr Kirby is the fire chief of the at that time was the fire chief of the volunteer fire department here in the county he he said we're having a banquet tonight he said and every board member will be there at that banquet I'll bounce it off of them see what they said well let me tell you something you know that King that threw Daniel in the Lion's Den and he walked all night long you know the Bible said he sleep one he W I didn't sleep well that night I I mean come daylight I made a be line down to Kirby carpet I got there before he got there I was in the parking lot before he got there to open the carpet store he got out of the car and uh I think he want to start talking about you again but I just I I said hey did you did you get that paper sign that I gave you did you get those signatures go they gave me a piece of paper to get the signatures he said I sure do he opened up his briefcase he said we all signed off on it last night and and I took it to the architect and the state of Tennessee accepted it and I thank God somebody else had to put fire hydr up and down wig and blunt but we didn't have to praise God what are you talking about this morning but I'm talking about having the right con Connections in your life don't you want to have the right Connections in your life I want to be connected to God everybody say God God I want to be connected to the right people say right people right people I want to have favor I want to be connected to God I want to be connected to the right people and I want to have I want to have favor well this connection want you turn with me to Exodus chapter 26 verse number one we're going to talk about the Tabernacle for a moment the Tabernacle was thew Dwelling Place of God on the earth it was a place that God would dwell in the holy of holies it was a place where the people could come and be joined to the Tabernacle and to be joined to their God Exodus chapter 26 and verse number one moreover Thou shalt make the Tabernacle with 10 curtains of fine twine linen blue and purple and Scarlet with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them the length of one curtain shall be eight and 20 cubits the breadth one curtain shall be four cubits every one of the curtains shall have shall have shall have one shall have one measurement the five curtains shall be coupled together one to another five curtains shall be coupled one to another that's verse three now let me show you this now the Tabernacle is filled with typology the Tabernacle is filled with symbols that represent a new testament reality a new testate reality of the Plan of Salvation it's interesting that we have five curtains we have five curtains verse three five curtains shall be coupled joined linked together one to another five curtains shall be coupled one to another the number five the number five represents the five-fold ministry the number five represents the completeness of the word of God that we're needed I'm glad this morning for the operation of the gifts of the spirit I'm glad today for the operation of tongues and interpretation that when God wants to have a moment that it's just God speaking God has that gift of the spirit the five curtains that are coupled the five curtains that are coupled together let me go on down to verse number five for a moment 50 Loops shalt thou make in one curtain 50 Loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second that the loops may take hold one of another Thou shalt make 50 tachet of gold and couple the curtains together the tachet and it shall be one Tabernacle isn't this interesting you got five the number five represents the five-fold ministry somebody help me now we've got 50 Loops in the curtain and the loops are going to join curtain after curtain what is the number 50 Among Us Pentecostals 50 represents the day of Pentecost 50 days after Passover when the Holy Ghost came can I tell you what joins us together as individuals today is not our income likeness it is not what we share as far as income it's not what we share as far as political views it is not what we share as far as educational levels but what joins the church together today and is the most powerful thing of the church is the spirit of allm mighty God we differ we differ on politics we differ on finances we differ in a lot of ways but the church does not differ when it comes to the spirit of the Living God what just happened a few moments ago I'll tell you what happened a group of people came together in one mind and one agreement or unity and they join themselves together and God said if they be joined together I am going to come down in the midst of them can you give the Lord a hand of Praise right now God joins people together God joins people together the right connection the book of Ephesians chapter 5 verse number 30 Paul the book of Ephesians is a book that stresses the unity of the church the unity the the need the unity of God's house the unity of God's people in E Ephesians chapter 5 and verse 30 he says look at this for we are members of his body and of his flesh and his bone his bones now now I leave that up on the screen for a moment we are members of his body and of his flesh and of his bones and I want you to notice one thing the flesh was pierced the flesh was whipped with the cat of nine tails the flesh suffered cuts and laceration and the flesh would bleed but the Bible says that we are the members of his body of his flesh and of his bones and I want you to know just being in the church doesn't mean that things are not going to happen in the flesh it doesn't mean that things are not going to come against our flesh and we're going to suffer things in the flesh but can I remind you we are of his body of his flesh and his bones there's a reason that prophecy went forth about the bones of Jesus Christ the skeletal structure of Jesus Christ what was a prophecy that went about the skeletal structure of Jesus Christ not a bone of his body would be broken now I'm going somewhere I promise you I'm going somewhere they came to Jesus and they were going to take a big wooden Mallet and break his legs but they said he was already dead so they passed him by why because the Bible said not a bone of his body would be broken where you going to we are joined to something that our flesh may suffer but our structure is whole it will not be broken you may go through things that attack your flesh but it will not be able to break your structure for you are part of the Church of the Living God we are part of a spiritual Ecclesia a body that Pharaoh could not stop Emperors could not stop pilot could not stop Herod could not stop Nero could not stop Hitler could not stop agnostic agnostics could not stop we are a part of the Church of the Living God for this cause verse 31 for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother shall be joined joined unto his wife and they too shall be one flesh this is a great mystery but I speak concerning Christ and the church never Le nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself and the wife see that she reverence her husband can I tell you something today we often say the devil's after my marriage can I tell you what the devil is after he is after what your marriage typifies he's not just after your marriage he's got to get your marriage before he can erase what it typifies the devil has attacked Humanity but he said oh the devil's really messing up with Humanity do you know why the devil's messing with humanity is because humanity is made in the image and the likeness of God and our adversary wants to do everything that he can to erase any resemblance of God but I'm glad I belong I'm joined I'm linked I'm connected to a Church of Jesus Christ I'm glad that I'm connected to something to let culture change everything around listen you can change a lot of things but just because you change it don't mean it's so I can stand up here and say I don't believe in gravity gravity does not exist no gravity does not exist I don't I deny gravity I I I deny gravity uh gravity does not exist it it does not exist it does not exist it it does but I'm going to tell you something mother Zander if I keep on walking and don't watch where I'm going just because I say it doesn't exist doesn't mean it doesn't exist and man and culture can tell you this is Chang and that's changed I'm glad to be in a church today where we are connected to a God who said I am God I change not somebody help me today Paul wrote about a husband and wife and he said nevertheless he said I'm really telling you a great mystery but I'm really speaking about Christ in the church just like a husband and wife are married together linked together connected together joined together we are connected to him we're not just a group of people like the like like some kind of 4H club or some kind of club that are meeting we are joined to Christ and I like this next verse I just want to throw it in Matthew 19 and6 we hear this at weddings but we need to hear this at church Matthew 19 and6 wherefore they are no more Twain to but one flesh what therefore God has join together let not man put a I'm going to tell you we we we reference that to marriage but I think I can take it to what marriage typifies God has joined himself to the church it started on the day of Pentecost when 120 obedient Disciples of Jesus Christ met in an upper room and prayed for the coming of the Holy Ghost and when the day of Pentecost had come there came from Heaven The Sound Of A Mighty rushian Wind and it filled all the house but it didn't just fill the house and it set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost there's where God joined himself together I'm glad I'm in the church I'm glad I'm in the church Ephesians 4 and verse number 11 Ephesians 4 and verse number 11 Bible says and he gave some Apostles some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and some teachers why did you give me the five-fold ministry here it is for the perfecting of the Saints maturing of the Saints well why do I need to be mature for the work of the ministry I need to grow up so I can go to work as good parents we need to teach our children work ethic if we don't we're going to be supporting them all the days of their lives but if we can teach them early to have a work ethic just what that does that matures them I promise you they'll treat clothes better if they buy them they'll treat a car better if they buy it they won't spin the tires off that car if they buying at ties that there is something about there is something about maturity why do I need to be mature for the work of the ministry why do I need to be working in the church for the edifying building up increasing getting other people to join the church verse 13 watch this please till we all come in the unity of the faith unto the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man mature man unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of Doctrine by the slight of men by the cunning craftiness whereby they lie weight to deceive but speaking the truth in love may grow up into him in all things which is the head even Christ from whom the whole body watch this fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working of the measure of every part maketh increase of the body under the edifying of itself in love now he said the reason you need to be joined in the body there's a reason that we have nailed our tent stake in the apostolic Doctrine there's a reason that we nail our ourselves to this word because the winds are blowing the winds are blowing there's a reason Apostolic is not a denomination we're non-denominal well you know that's fine but I want you to know we're not a Apostolic is not a denomination and Pentecostal is not a denomination Apostolic is the apostles teaching the men that were with Jesus for three and a half years slept by him ate by him heard him teach we're there at the crucifixion we're there at the resurrection they were there they heard him our tent stake our anchor is in the first century Apostolic Church Pentecost is not a denomination it's an experience and because we are anchored in the apostles teaching we receive Heaven's sweet gift of the Holy Ghost that's why we're staying right where we're staying because the winds are blowing the winds are blowing the winds are blowing of the winds are blowing do you know today do you know today that there are gospel pastors Renown gospel pastors preachers of denominal churches that are now coming out and openly admitting that Jesus Christ is not the only way to heaven that how could a just and a holy God send a good moral man to Hell well the truth of the matter is we're going to hell from the time we're born the only way that you can bypass hell and go to heaven is through the one who said I am what way did he say a way did he say a truth he said I am the way I am the truth and I am the life the winds are blowing and the only way that we're going to stand the only way we're going to stand is to be anchored and joined to something that fire can't burn and politics and political leaders of Rome could not stamp out as a matter of fact brother Hammond let's have a little fun this joined up with the church there's one Lord One Faith one baptism then Peter said un them repent and be B baptized number one can I tell you something today you got to be join of the church you know why the devil wants you to get off by yourself is because you're easy pickings all by yourself do you know why he wants you to get all by yourself winds are blowing winds are blowing boy they're blowing the winds are blowing all kind of foolishness under the name of Christianity is going on in the world today winds are blowing look at the book of Jude chapter number one we about got me out of breath trying to keep you Jude chapter one verse number one watch this today are you glad you're joined to church I'm not talking about the one man started I'm going talk about the one man started a lot of denominations you can trace it back to a man I'm talking about the one that God shed his blood for that's the one I'm talking about today I'm I'm going talking about the one man started Jude chapter 1 verse 10 no I feel the gentle voice of God telling me right now we need we take a moment and you need you need to thank God from the top of your voice that you're part of the church come on you better be thanking if you're a part of the church right now the church the church the church Jude 1 and10 I felt the Gentle Touch Of God telling me that today Jude 1 and10 but these speak evil of those things which they know not but what they know naturally as brute beasts and those things they corrupt themselves it's what it's talking about here it's talking about unregenerated people trying to understand spiritual matters you'll never do it and what the world can't understand man and what what will not bow at the feet of the doctrine of all inclusive the world will speak evil of the world will speak evil of when the world tries to explain when the world tries to understand if they can't explain it and we won't bow before it then they begin to speak evil of them that's what Jude is talking about here verse 11 woe unto them for they have gone in the way of Cain and have ran greedily after the era of balum for reward and perished in the gainsaying of Kora three things real quickly you can identify them you can identify Cain you can identify aalum and you can identify a Kora these are people you never need to get linked up with don't ever get joined to them don't ever get connected with them they will influence you not only that if you're linked up to them you're not linked up to the church Cain here's how you can identify Cain is I will worship God I will give God what I deem acceptable I will decide what's acceptable I will decide what I give God God is is not going to tell me what I give him I am going to decide what I give God God is not going to tell me to bring sheep blood I will bring God what I believe should he you you you be pleased with can I tell you today the people that are telling your ear that's a little bit too much that goes on down there at that church show me one thing we do in our worship that's not in the Bible well they sing too long show me a verse that tells us how long we should sing well they're loud I can take you to many passages of scripture about things being about about praising with a loud voice but isn't it amazing they can be so loud over at Nan stadium that they can cause a small earthquake but nobody but nobody would dare listen you need to check yourself out if you can get around other things that are loud and you love it to death but you come into a house where we're praising God and it something in you oh that's just so irritating can I help you today I'm going to tell you what's irritating you it's the devil inside of you that is irritating you if you're not if you're not irritated at loud things in the world you shouldn't come in the church and be be irritated at the church come on give him a praise right now show me where it says we not to lift our hands show me where it says we're not to clap our hands show me where it says we're not to dance under the Lord show me show me show me show me show me T said God you'll get what I deem you worthy of balum was a lover of money he loved to preach he loved to prophesy to get money can I tell you money is the root of all evil more people unconnect themselves to God over money than over alcohol or pornography more people allow money allow all allow money more people allow money the subject of the subject of money the subject of money beware beware when you complain about the offering plates being passed but you don't complain about the price of the ticket to get in your game beware when you complain about the church is Raising some more money for this or that when you'll gladly give $8 for a Diet Coke at a ball game you see today the love of money is the root of all evil you got to watch because that's what balam's that's what balam's issue was Kora Kora is a man that led a rebellion against god-given established leadership in the church god-given established leadership in the church you ever noticed some of these new groups that are starting pride themsel in we don't have a pastor and I promise you you'll find this the person that's behind starting that is the one that does the most talking at the meeting they just don't like that Divine Authority and so the Earth opened itself up and God swallowed God swallowed Kora precious God I don't want to be Cain and I don't want to be balum and I don't want to be Kora God I want to give you the worship that you're pleased with God God it has nothing to do with my personality type you said to raise your hands and God if you said to raise my hands I'm going to raise my hands if you said to sing unto the Lord it doesn't matter if I like singing or not I'm going to sing to you you said to clap your hands all you people and make a joyable Noise unto the Lord and if that's what you said that's what you're going to get these musicians would you come these are spots verse 12 these are spots in your Feast of Charity when they Feast with you feeding themselves without fear clouds they are without water carried about somebody help me now carried about by what winds trees whose fruit withereth without fruit twice dead plucked up by the roots spots they are spots they are it's what it says in verse 12 they are spots in your Feast of Charity now the Bible says that Jesus Christ is coming back after a church that is without spot or blemish or wrinkle or wrinkle now please excuse me when I can't find a lot of answers I spend some time in prayer I want to know the answer spot what does spot mean and that simple word there is used that you have got too close to something that is splattering and you get a spot on you because you're too close you know just like today if some of you ladies go home and Fry hamburgers on the stove and you get that you get that kind that's um you know that that's uh 75% meat 25% fat it going to be a lot of grease in that pan I imagine some of you ladies maybe some of you men that do the cooking you know that there's a there's a chance it's going to Splatter out on me I bet I better take this tie off I I better take my coat off I better I I better go put that old t-shirt on that I use to wash the car with why a grease stain is hard hard to get out you know a lot of times we get a spot on our garment because we're too close to the world we're not in the world but we come in church and we're all spotted with the world then it said without spot or without wrinkle that means that you've been sitting down too long on your clothes that nice coat might have been pressed this morning that nice shirt might have been steamed this morning but I promise you when you get up you go home and you take that jacket off you'll notice it's got a crease it's got a wrinkle in it because you're sitting down we don't need to have the wrinkles of inactivity Among Us without spot without wrinkle and then it says feeding themselves that's verse 12 again feeding themselves without fear feeding themselves without without fear can I tell you what the literal Greek interprets this right here the literal in the ancient Greek is this shepherding themselves shepherding themselves what what does that mean Ain nobody gonna tell me what I'm GNA do and what I'm not GNA do I Shepherd myself can I tell you there's chaos in the home because there's kids that are saying you're not going to tell me what to do you're not going to tell me what to do you say well not not my home that's exactly right keep it that way you'll raise healthy children you'll raise law-abiding children you'll raise God-fearing children but in a church when God has given us the structure of leadership God has given us leaders to preach the word of God to us you need to open up your heart today and say God I want to be joined I want to be joined to the church I want to be joined to the church today would you stand with me right now all over this building our singers will come all over this building right now would you stand with me right now we are the church we are the Church of the Living God we are the church this morning we are the apostolic church this morning we are the Pentecostal church this morning we are the church that's 2,000 years old today we're holding fast to the form we're holding firm term to the doctrine to the faith that was once delivered to the Saints I'm glad to be a part of a Bi Bible believing church I'm glad to be a part that can can look all the way back 2,000 years ago I'm glad to be a part of the apostolic church this morning would you bow your heads with me right now all over this room all over this room today would you bow your heads with me right now I want to I want to open the altar up I want to ask our our our our altar workers if they would come line up across the altar right now every head is bowed and every eye is closed it's a cold world out there there's no love out there in the world it's lonely in the world it's painful in the world it's dark and damp in the world I'm lonely I'm empty I'm incomplete I want to open this altar up to you right now church family let me hear you help me pray today let me hear you pray today I want to open this altar up to you right now who's lonely I want you to walk down the aisle of this church and find one of these men or women and let them begin to pray for you right now let the church lay its hands on you right now oh God touch that soul today oh my friend and you're not here by an accident you're not here by coincidence today you're you're not here today you're not here today by by accident almighty God ordained that you would be here for this service he ordained you would be here for these want you to listen to me now I've given ample opportunity for those that are lost to come but brother Hammond confirms something in the Lord this morning there are churches that get so cner minded that they forget they are the church now Grant you don't go don't don't nobody go Post online that I I said we're not going to be a centerm minded church I just spent a few moments pleading but at the end of the day we've got to be the church if you've ever flown on an airplane they'll tell you before you take off about your seat belt and they'll tell you it's a little spill that goes like this should the cabin lose pressure from the ceiling will drop an oxygen mask here's what they tell you first place the mask if you're traveling with little children first place the mask on you and then on the child I said well that that doesn't sound right or it sounds exactly right for if I spend time trying to put oxygen on someone else that can't do it from themselves then I pass out and they follow
