genesis chapter 11 and verse number one please understand that taking a few moments out of the service to give honor is not something that's uh let's say not spiritual it is very spiritual it's very spiritual do you all realize today that that which ceases to be honored soon ceases to be respected all you gotta do is stop honoring something and another generation won't expect won't respect it at all and i will tell you i honor i i want to do more i guess just the last few weeks i have just been thanking god for the army of workers that we have that we have here at first apostolic church and uh you good people that faithfully come to the house of god just bear with me for a moment you good people that faithfully come to the house of god um our neighbors here down the road we were in their home the other night and they said we cannot believe the number of cars that are at your church on midweek service or sunday nights and we can't believe that we we can't we and of course sister carpenter gave him a bible response she said come and see come and just just come and see so i i honor you all i honor you all today genesis chapter 11 verse number one and the whole earth was of one language and of one speech and it came to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plane in the land of synar and they dwelt there and they said one to another go to let us make brick and burn them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and slime had they for mortar and they said go to let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach into heaven and let us make us a name lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth and the lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built and the lord said behold the people is one and they have all one language and this they begin to do and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do go to let us go down and their confound their language that they may not understand one another's speech so the lord scattered them abroad from fence upon the face of all the earth and they left off to build the city therefore is the name of it called babel because the lord did there confound the language of all the earth and from fence did the lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth i ask you this morning not only to pray for me right now but also pray for brother erickson i had forgotten he is actually preaching an anniversary service in florida this morning yesterday and this morning and would you lift up your voices and pray for them as they minister there in that church in daytona father i love you today i thank you for your love and i thank you for your mercy god i thank you for your word today oh hallelujah oh god i'm overwhelmed right now with your presence god i'm overwhelmed right now with your spirit lord god you've never done us nothing but good lord you've never done us nothing but good god father i give you praise and i give you honor this morning lord anoint my lips of clay that i may feed your sheep lord help the words today to prick the heart of the sinner lord help the words today god to remind the prodigal to come home and lord let the word of god this morning feed the sheep that are among us god lord touch brother erickson and give him the anointing today as he ministers in that service in jesus name we pray worthy thank you jesus thank you lord oh thank god you may be seated isn't the lord so good to us i want to minister for a few moments today on the people the people of one language the people of one language this may be hard to believe but do you know that there are 7 151 different spoken languages in our world today we thought there was just english and spanish right there's over 7 151 different languages that is spoken on earth today wow seven thousand one hundred fifty one but i will use a verse of scripture that jesus used i'm going to take it just a little bit out of context today but i think it still means the same jesus said about about marriage and about how troubled marriages were in his days jesus said but from the beginning it was not so from the beginning it was not so seven thousand one hundred and fifty one different spoken languages today but from the beginning it was not so from the beginning the whole earth the population of the earth they all had one language they all had one language so now how did this division of languages of which god god was the one that has caused the 7151 different languages and the reason that there are 7151 different languages today is because god had a plan to populate the entire earth not just a certain section of it and so the command to adam and eve was to populate multiply and populate the earth nowhere with adam and eve was god did god ever tell them to build cities nowhere did god ever tell them to build monuments or cities but it was the plan of god that man would go across the face of the earth and that man would populate the earth because god had an ultimate plan and that plan in order for that plan to be successful the earth needed to be populated and the bible says that the earth was was created that it was created to be populated now i'm i promise you i'm going somewhere there's not a geography lesson here this morning i'm i'm going i'm going to go somewhere so when god told adam and eve to populate the earth man's rebellion reared its ugly head you you do know that rebellion is never the plan of god rebellion is never the plan of god when adam and eve reared their ugly heads of rebellion and it became simply this you could put this title over over the globe god's word versus man's word what god said and what man said and because rebellion entered and sin entered we now find that adam and eve are cursed they're outside they're outside of the garden they are cursed and a few hundred years later god looks down upon this earth and it was full of violence full of corruption and the scripture says that every thought of man's imagination not most of his thoughts not not 99 of his thoughts but every thought of a man's imagination was only evil continually and because man had not one thought of turning around you see the thought of doing better is the vehicle that god will ride in the thought of turning your life around all you got to do today to get started living for god you're not going to stay there but it'll always begin with a thought it'll always begin with a thought the prodigal son where did his turnaround come in the pig pen how a thought how many servants in my father's house have bread enough to spare and i perish for hunger but when god looked down upon the earth and the vast majority with the exception of one man in his family with the exception of noah and his family every man's thoughts were oh god god god had no way to get in his mind god had no way to change his mind god he got god watched man the bible says he knows our thoughts afar off he he walked among men just waiting to hear just waiting to hear oh is there a thought of him turning around and there was no fault and so because there was no thought god repented god changed his mind and god purposed to destroy the earth but noah found grace in the eyes of god and god gave noah a plan of salvation god gave noah a plan of salvation it's called the ark now go with me go with me to genesis chapter number 8 and verse number 15. the ark has come to rest genesis 8 and 15 and god spake unto noah saying go forth of the ark thou and thy family and thy sons and thy sons wives with thee bring forth every living thing that is that is with thee of all flesh both the fowl and of cattle and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth that they may be that they may breed abundantly in the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth noah went forth and his sons and his wives and his son's wives with him every beast every creeping thing every fowl and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth after their kind went forth out of the ark and noah built an altar unto the lord now stop there for a moment we see in these first few verses that god repeats to noah what he said to adam he said go out replenish the earth multiply why because that's god's plan go go multiply and replenish the earth now noah did something wonderful here because anytime you have a command a good way to obey the command is to build an altar the bible said and noah built it an altar unto the lord took of every clean beast in a very clean fowl offered burnt offerings upon the altar and the lord smelled a sweet savor and the lord said in his heart i will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth neither will i again smite anymore every living thing as i have done while the earth remaineth seek time and harvest cold and heat summer and winter day and night shall not cease do you know what god gave to noah god gave the assurance that he would be provided for god looked at noah and saw noah building that altar and offering up a sacrifice and god in return you've never given god something that god has it give you something much better back in return he gave him an offering he built an altar and he gave him an offering and then god says noah i want to give you the assurance that they'll be day and night summer and winter cold and heat there's going to be seasons and these seasons are going to bring forth crops that you can eat but noah i want you to know i'm going to provide for you it's wonderful when we're in the plan of god and the will of god that we can rest with full assurance that god is going to provide for us that god is going to take god is going to take care of us well let's go on down to chapter 9 of genesis verse number 1 chapter 9 verse number 1 and god bless noah and his sons and said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the field upon every fowl of the air upon all that move moveth upon the earth and upon all the fishes of the sea into your hand they are delivered every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you even as the green herb have i given you all things that sounds so much like what god told the original man adam he told adam that you had dominion over the over your surroundings you have dominion over the garden you have dominion over these things what is god doing with noah he's reinstituting he's saying once again i have a plan and you're going to be part of that plan go down to verse number 7. and you listen to god in verse number 7 and you be ye fruitful multiply bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply therein there is that that replenishing there is that populating the earth versus the next verse verse 8. and god spake unto noah and to his sons saying behold i establish my covenant with you and with your seed after you and with every living creature that is with you of the fowl the cattle of the beast of the earth with you from all that go out of the ark to every beast of the earth i will establish my covenant with you neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth and god said this is the token this is the sign i've given you my word i am in covenant relationship with you i am in partnership with you i have given you my word don't live in fear of another flood i have given you my word on this and do you know that when god gives his word god always gives a sign to confirm his word he says this is the token that we're token means sign of the covenant which i make between me and you and every living creature that is with you for perpetual generations i do set my bow in the cloud i understand the bow has been grossly misused today i do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token sign of a covenant between me and the earth and it shall come to pass when i bring a cloud over the earth that the bow shall be seen in the cloud and i will remember my covenant which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh some people try to find fault with the bible and they say the bible's not true god said that there wouldn't be floods and we have flooding well god didn't say there wouldn't be floods he said i won't destroy all flesh by flood and the bow shall be seen in the cloud and i will look upon it that i may remember the everlasting covenant between god and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth now look what god did god gave noah promise seedtime and harvest summer and winter you're going to have provision you're your flesh is going to be fed you're going to have you're going to have provision and not only that he said i'm going to give you something else i'm going to give you a sign that's going to calm your spirit down whenever you see thunder roll in and black clouds and storms roll in you may be prone to believe that i'm angry again and that i'm going to destroy all the earth but i give you my word that i'll no longer destroy all the earth as i have but there will come storms there will come rains and when you see those storms and those rains just look up in the cloud and you'll see the rainbow and you'll be reminded look what a mighty god we serve today he cares about us to provide for us physically and he cares about us to provide for us spiritually today we don't have to fear church come on saints of god we don't have to live in fear i know there's all this climate stuff going on and i believe we ought to take care of the earth that god has given us but i do not believe i do not believe that we should live in fear that the sun's not going to shine one day and all of a sudden every the stars are going to get knocked out of whack and we're going to be left to starve i don't believe that today god has given us a sign in the cloud to tell us that he will keep his word and i do praise him for that this morning i i do praise him i do praise him for that for that today so now here goes man here goes man and you know the bible is a tell-all book the bible tells the good the bad the ugly right genesis 9 19 genesis 9 and 19. these are the three sons of noah and of them was the whole earth overspread and noah began to be a husbandman he began to plant a vineyard and he drank the wine and was drunken and he was uncovered in his tent this is the first recording and it is the first man that ever got drunk i i don't believe noah got drunk on purpose now i'm going to give old brother noah a little lead way here all right you get drunk you get drunk on purpose now you hear me you very well know what's in that bottle but no i didn't no it hadn't been nobody nobody was there to say hey don't drink that you'll get drunk nobody nobody had been drunk all right so he became a husband and made wine and over the process of time drinking it he got drunk he got drunk and he got so drunk and out of his mind that he stripped off his clothes and and and lay naked some of you are thinking i came to church to hear this this morning verse 21 and he drank of the wine and was drunken and was uncovered within his tent and ham the father of canaan saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers without and shem and japheth that's the two brothers took a garment and laid it up on both their shoulders and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father and their faces were backward and they saw not their father's nakedness and noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had done unto him and he said cursed be canaan a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren in reference to drinking wine i wish noah could have heard an old chinese proverb an old chinese proverb that says first a man takes a drink and then the drink takes the man i wish he could he could have heard that first a man takes a drink and then the drink takes you let's look at this ham ham walks into the tent where his father is laying naked ham turns and does nothing about the shame that his father's in ham turns and goes and tells his brother brothers shem and jacob that father noah is drunk and stripped naked in his tent him and jacob pay great respect to their drunken father they pay great respect to their father they go get a garment and they turn themselves their faces away from their naked drunken father and they walk in the tent backward and they lay the coat or the blanket over their naked drunken father when adam or excuse me when noah awakes when noah awakes and is told how that ham greatly disrespected him how that ham ham had great scorn and disrespect for his father while shem and japheth had great honor although their father was drunken and naked they still respected the fact that that's our father they still had respect to their father and they showed him respect and honor by laying that blanket upon him and not looking upon the nakedness but not but not him him sow the deceived and i'll go back to a statement i made before i started preaching anything we cease to honor we will soon cease to respect anything that we fail to honor soon we will disrespect that authority or that that structure that's in our lives i still believe god has a word of honor for us i still believe in this world of of people trying just to take away honor from people i'm here to give god glory i'm here to give god praise but you know there's nothing wrong with honoring those that of the house of god these christian school teachers these daycare workers you good saints of god there's nothing wrong with staying around and giving some honor honor to you today because what we cease to honor we will cease to respect and what we cease to respect we will place it out of our lives ham disrespected his father ham showed great scorn for his father now watch this noah woke and knew verse 24 what his father had done or know what his son had done and verse 25 verse 9 again verse number chapter 9 verse 25 and noah said cursed be canaan a servant of servants shall he be unto thee women canaan is your grandson canaan is the son of ham what are you doing cursing canaan canaan didn't see you naked canaan didn't do that why are you cursing him why don't you curse him because anything you and i cease to honor and cease to respect we automatically place a curse or the possibility of a curse on our children and upon our grandchildren a man i forget the stats but if a man serves god his children have a higher possibility of serving god but if a man doesn't serve god if a man doesn't serve god that child has a less possibility of serving god i want my children and my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren to have all of the probability they have all of the provisions to serve god church i don't want to sow anything into the lives of my children i don't want to sow anything into the lives of my grandchildren that will take them away from god him because he disrespected his father sowed the seeds of a curse in the life of canaan in the life in the life of canaan now um let me take you for just a moment you say why are we talking about canaan today we i thought you begin you begin brother carpenter you begin at the tower of babel you begin in the 11th chapter well you see cain becomes or ham becomes the father of the gentiles ham is the father of the canaanites canaanites canaanites were gentiles it was the canaanites that had all of the grotesque forms of idol worship it was a canaanites that worshipped molech burned their firstborns in an oven to god through to the god molech it was the canaanites that god said i'll send i'll send israel into the land of the canaanites and you'll drive the canaanites out and so we we stop here for a moment and god is so beautiful to give us a panoramic view of the bible we've got all of these canaanites that are heaven full of sexual immorality full of death and diseases matter of fact some of the canaanite cities were so wicked and infected with with all kinds of diseases that god said when you go in kill everything there kill the animals kill the children kill everybody there that sounds so terrible but what god knew is the canaanites were full of of contagious infectious diseases and god was saying they all got to die they they've all i know we're we stand with it are you talking about our god yes he said to israel when you go into the land of the canaanite break all their altars down cut all their trees down just just just all of them eradicate all of them there push them out of your land where does this all start god gives us a panoramic view there's no such thing as a little white lie there's no such thing as just a little sin if you sow the wind we'll reap a whirlwind little did little did him know let let him know when he arrogantly and stubbornly marched around and said you ought to see our old crazy father oh drunken fool inside that tent you ought to see he ain't going to tell me how to live oh drunken fool you you you he's in there laying naked little cake little ham do you know that you are sowing the seeds of pandemonium in the lives of your descendants babies are going to be killed adults are going to be killed buildings are going to be burned all because you failed to show the proper respect oh it makes me want to be oh so careful with my attitude oh it makes me want to be oh so careful with how i speak about the structure of god it makes me want to want to be oh so careful i never want to i never want to utter a word at the kitchen table such as man i'm just wore out from church i'm i'm just worried less that maybe a little grand baby will look up and hear me say something wore out in church and form it in their mind that that church is something bad i want them to know that god is good i might be wore out i might be tired but honey god is good the house of god is somewhere i want to go to it's somewhere i want to i want to raise my children matter of fact matter of fact let me issue a challenge to you today we did it in our family it runs in our family now but when our children we brought our children home from the hospital brother elliot when we brought fallon lauren and nolan home from the hospital we did not take them directly home we brought them by the church we brought them by the church it's on video and as years went by they got older they understood just how precious the house of god was in their lives we started it's in our grandchildren now and it's just a tradition we bring them home from the hospital we're going to walk them through this altar i walked them i walked them through the altar up on the hill i walked uh walked to uh fallon the altar and lauren the altar over on mcginley street maybe here's where you're going to find god one day here's where we're going to live one day here's where we want to seek god one day can i tell you something sow the seeds of respect of god i know sometimes church and church people can get drunken and strip naked not not real but in in the proverbial i'm saying you think man i really came to church to hear this today you know and the proverbial part we can we can do things and there can be kinks in our armor around here but can i tell you even though noah's laying in his tent stripped naked and drunken that boy sealed the doom of he and his family's life by sowing the wrong seeds of respect i love god's house today i love what's going on right now i love i love the house of god i love what's going on today it goes on to say and ham was the father of cush and cush was the thought he had sons kush that's chapter 10 verse 6. ham had sons cush and kanan what about kush chapter 10 verse number eight kush chapter 10 verse number eight and cush begat nimrod he began to be a mighty one in the earth brother darren nimrod became popular he became a mighty one in the earth nimrod became a man of influence nimrod on behalf of the people he spoke for the people he spoke on the behalf of people cush begat nimrod he began to be a mighty one in the earth he was a mighty hunter before the lord now you've got to understand the hebrew here when it says before the lord it means to be in defiance of the lord it means if that that word there the hebrew means kind of like in resistance of the lord he became a mighty one in the earth in resistance before the lord wherefore it is said even as nimrod the mighty hunter before or in opposition to the lord and the beginning of his kingdom was babel now i know this is in chapter 10 and now we have chapter 11. but really chapter 10 is the consequence or the seed that was sown by ham by canaan by nimrod because god's plan was for man to replenish the earth god's plan was for man to repopulate the earth that's god's word but we're faced today just like they were faced they have god's word god said to travel god said to multiply god said to replenish god said to branch off and do this but now we have god's word and we have nimrod's word and nimrod says wait a minute i have found a plane in the land of synar oh if you could see this on a map it was a very fruitful strip of land it lay between two rivers it lay between two rivers it was a very fruitful part of the earth at that time and nimrod says because remember nimrod's speaking for the people nimrod says i found a plane in the land of synar let us build us a city and let us build us a tower whose top may reach into heaven and let us make us a name for ourself wait a minute wait a minute nimrod what do you mean us have a name didn't you did you remember remember that when seth was born a group of men got together and began to call on the name of the lord don't you remember that and it's it's really simple today you're either calling on the name of the lord or you're trying to make your own name today we're either excited about the name that is above every name we're either excited to praise his name to worship his name to exalt his name to live by his name to speak his name or we're spirited as nimrod and we're trying to make a name for ourselves god's word nimrod's word god's word replenish the earth nimrod's word look how comfortable it is right here well why don't we just build us a tower listen to nimrod listen listen how this mighty one in the earth speaks on behalf of the people can i tell you today i don't want anybody speaking for me as for me and my house we will serve god nobody's gonna make up my nobody's gonna tell me what to believe god is the only one that tells me what to believe god's word is the only one that tells me what to believe church is that not the truth this morning god and his word not nimrod so nimrod said go too let us make a tower that we may have a name for ourselves they had brick they knew how to burn brick and ovens they had slime from order and they started to build the city they started to build the tower they left off on god's plan can i tell you the way of a transgressor is hard if you try your own plans it's uphill if you try your own plans your life is filled with hedges and thorns and setbacks but if you will fall in line to god's plan god's got a highway called holiness god's got a way to help you and life is going to be joy unspeakable and full of glory because that is god's plan for you to follow we're going to have that's a city genesis 11. 11 and verse 4. go to let us build us a city in a tower whose top may reach into heaven let us make us a name lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the earth well nimrod that's what god wanted that wasn't god that wasn't bad notice how notice how nimrod the mighty one brother pruitt notice how he speaks the word of god in a scornful way let's build a city and a top lest we be scattered as if being scattered with something uh to to to to be disdained wasn't something to be to say that's trying to do it again with god's word outdated no longer for us outdated no longer no longer for us no it's not outdated it's better than your morning paper it's relevant for everything in your life today this word is your compass when you're lost it's your water when you're thirsty it's your bread when you're hungry it's your companion when you're all alone you can grab a hold of this word in the storms of light and this word will be an anchor to your soul and see you through all your situations come on let's give him steal this and that it's the word it's the word verse five and the lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built let me tell everybody something my musicians would come let me tell you something i like almost for you mentally mentally mentally to set up on the edge of your seat right now and get your eyes as wide open as you can because you hear me you can follow nimrod you can follow nimrod you can go nimrod's way but the great building inspector is going to come down on your life one day the great building inspector some of you builders that are here today brother perry with a hide with the cogdol some of you know as you're building that house and putting them studs together putting rebar in the ground every so often there'll be a truck pull up and somebody will say there's the inspector somebody will say there's the there's the there's the electrical inspector there's the plumber there's a plumbing inspector there's a footer inspector there he is that man or woman comes out there and begins to probe around begins to make sure you're building this house according to the plan i'm going to tell you today and i know this might not be a shout message but you will face the great building inspector one day the lord will come down one day to inspect your building he'll come down matter of fact he don't want to condemn you he came not into this world to condemn the world but that through him the world might be saved he'll walk down your he'll walk into your your lives and he'll see you're not building the right way you're not doing the right thing you know what he'll do he'll start taking sleep from your eyes he'll stop he'll start taking rest from you you won't know why you're just uncomfortable you you won't know you'll look at your checkbook and it's bigger than it's ever been and you'll look at time off and you've got more time off than you've ever had but you'll say to yourself but i'm not happy you know why the great building inspector is saying i don't want you to be lost sir i don't want you to be lost ma'am i don't want you to spend eternity in a devil's hell that wasn't prepared for you i want you to be saved and he'll come down and shake your life oh what a merciful god we serve this morning come on what a merciful god we serve this morning and the lord came down to see the building and the lord said to the angels do you see they are of one language they are of one language they've all got the same language and this they have imagined to do now when god says this this they have imagined to do and nothing will restrain them they'll do it they'll build cities and towers and they'll do this but if they do this and i leave them alone the plan that i've got for the earth is not to build a tower but the plan that i've got is to robe myself in flesh and build a cross the plan that i've got there needs to be a man over there in ur of chaldees that's an idol worshiper i'm going to speak to him and bring him out there we'll start the journey of faith and in the fullness of time a virgin will conceive and i almighty god will be birthed into this world i'll walk among them i'll display to them the true full characters of the grace of god i'll show them in flesh what god is really like i will heal their sicknesses i will forgive their sins i will cast out spirits of miserable devils from them i will hang and die on a cross for them and 50 days later i will descend in the pentecost i'll come as the holy ghost and i'll fill their lives and in 2000 in 2022 there'll be a group of people on a sunday morning that'll sit in the house of god filled with the power and the glory of almighty god i don't want nimrod i want god's word hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah would you stand with me this a wall here i need a wall there that morning the architect stretched the plans out and he said i need brick over here and i need more more mortar over here and i need beams over here and i need help over here and the carpenter said sure we'll get that wall built and the bricklayer said sure we'll get that ball wall built in the bricklayers turn around said hey bring me some brick but all of a sudden god did a miraculous work in their tongue and he confounded their languages and when the bricklayer was speaking saying bring me mortar it sounded like babel it sounded like babbling i i don't understand what you're saying and what started as a peaceful morning at ground zero of the tower turned into pandemonium they were hollering they were confused and and god divided them up into three people and they they found their they found their languages and then they they were scattered into all the world as god's plan said it's confusion in your life today it's confusion in your life welcome to first apostolic church where through the power of the holy ghost through pentecost we are the people of one language here today we have one language in this house today we have spoken other tongues as the spirit of god gives us utterance and we would love to seek we would love to see comfort come to your confused life this morning oh in the name of jesus pray with me right now if you're here in this room and your life is filled with confusion and chaos and hurt and agony and pain please come to this altar this morning please step out the holy ghost has been dealing with you during the message please step out of your seat right now and make your way to this altar jesus waits to touch you we are the people of one language we are the people of one language today come on church family let's pray right now we we all have one language this morning let's pray in the spirit and that that praying will bring people to the altar right now father touch lord touch that man this anybody but i was informed today that because that we have so many people that are not parking in designated parking spots that if there if we had an emergency if we had an emergency on the other side of the building where the children were today that an emergency vehicle would not be able to get through now some say well yeah we're supposed to be building a parking lot well let me tell you this we have parking spots that are not being used right now and because they're down the sides and in the back uh people just don't want to be inconvenienced it's not walmart and it's not the mall or it's not disney world it's it's church right so so please please um before you would park in a spot that's not designated now we don't want you to leave all right don't don't pull up so when i'm gone before before we help park you somewhere just make sure you circle the building and make sure that all we got parking across the back and in the sides of the building make sure all of those parking
