you have your bibles tonight go back with me to proverbs chapter 18 verse number 21 proverbs chapter 18 verse number 21 and i want to say to probably about i believe it was about uh i'm not mistaken around around 20 that are in fresno california tonight from our worship team our entire with the exception of me and sister carpenter our entire pastoral staff is there along with several musicians and singers that are there in fresno california at the camp meeting there and they're probably watching their three hours they're three hours behind us so um yeah that's right three hours behind us right sister richmond am i right three hours i don't have my wife tonight to look over here and so they're probably watching watching right now and so we miss we miss them look forward to them being back here sunday proverbs 18 and 21 why don't we read it all together why don't we do that i'll i'll begin the first word and this is all read it together death and life i want to continue tonight on the people of the people of one language the people of one language i won't say who the two sisters were but i went into kroger after sunday night's message i went into kroger last night until our sisters were there and i said what y'all doing they said we're standing here gossiping so i joined with them i said let's gossip about the gossipers you know so uh god's good to us isn't he let's offer a prayer father we love you thank you god you're so good god you're so good god i'm overwhelmed with your presence when i come in this place god when i feel your glory i feel your honor i feel your presence god and what you're doing lord god how you are making us into what you desire us to be lord lord how you're making us god a global church to reach lord i pray tonight that this message will help the weary i i pray tonight for all of our men and women that have worked their jobs all day and they're tired and body lord jesus would you touch them tonight lord would you give them a special touch god and let them be able to receive the word of god this evening in jesus name we pray amen amen you may be seated tonight the people of one language it's a very simple song it's a very simple proverb very easy to be understood telling about the potential and the power that's in the tongue the writer just simply used and said death and life are in the power of the tongue death and life it's just all what it's used for it can be used to create depth or it can be used to create to create life something like a a gun a gun is not bad in and of itself it's what the gun is used for that makes it either something of death or something of life so i know tonight that all of us know that we all and if you want to fall into this category a hearty amen would signal that you're in this camp but you want your tongue to create life right i want my tongue i want my tongue to create life it's interesting after the proverb tells us that the power of death and life are in the tongue it goes on and says and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof it's amazing how our tongue our speech our words create food create fruit and we understand that fruit is something that doesn't grow overnight we understand that fruit is something that takes time for the the fruit to ripen and so our words this evening we must understand that i want to continually throughout the seasons speak words that my next season i want to enjoy the words that i have spoken in a season that has passed i don't want to this this saying is not used in a favorable way you made your bed right lie or sleep in it i think those from up north say lie in it i think this southerners say sleep in it all right so you made your bed in other words this is what you did this is what you you spoke you you spoke these words and now it's the season that you have to you have to eat the fruit thereof so i want to speak life i want to speak peace i want to speak things that when it comes my season to eat those words i want to make sure it's a pleasant fruit a pleasant fruit to eat it says that you shall you shall eat the fruit thereof the fruit thereof the prophet jeremiah prophet jeremiah in jeremiah chapter 6 and verse number 19. the prophet jeremiah chairman jeremiah 6 and 19. he says to the israel and let me go ahead and tell you at the time uh strong tower youth group at the time israel was very rebellious at the time israel was very stubborn they knew more than god they knew that the way they wanted to live was a far better way than the way that god wanted them to live and so at this time israel was under was under tremendous tremendous bondage listen to the prophet jeremiah in verse chapter 6 and verse number 19 hear o earth behold i will bring evil upon this people even the fruit of their thoughts so now we understand that not only not only does our words produce fruit but our very thoughts produce fruit and the reason being is you can never separate your thoughts from your words eventually what you're thinking will eventually be spoken what you're thinking that's why you need to always be on mind on guard of what you allow yourself to to to think about and uh meditate about you you need to be on guard of what you allow thoughts to come through your mind now quite honestly uh thoughts uh many times can be like birds flying over your head uh you you can't help that a bird flies over your head but i can stop it from building a nest in my hair uh you know there's there's thoughts and of course sometimes uh we you would have certain thoughts based on the entertainment that you have that's why you need to have wholesome entertainment uh you need to re be reading the right things in order to have the right thoughts you need to be watching the right things in order to have the right thoughts amen and so the prophet jeremiah simply said that god would give you the fruit god would give you the fruit of your thoughts now we're talking this evening on the power the power of words the power the power of words now go go back with me to the book of james the power of words your words your words have tremendous power the book of james chapter number three and verse number 10 james chapter 3 and verse number 10 out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing my brethren these things are not so to be in other words james is saying to them he said out of your same mouth you're blessing god but cursing man out of the same mouth the same mouth you're blessing god you're cursing men and he simply just says these things ought not so to be verse 11 doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter in other words from a fountain can you get both salt water and fresh water and the answer to that is no you you you're either going to get salt water or you're going to get or you're going to get what he refers to as sweet water verse 12. can the fig tree my brethren bear olive berries either a vine figs can a can so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh now look at the three things he uses here look closely he uses a fountain a fig tree and a vine a fountain a fig tree and a vine what's he using the source the source whatever the source is is going to be the fruit of it whatever the source if it's a if it's a fig tree guess what you're going to find on the tree figs if it's a vine you're going to find grapes if it's a fountain you're either going to be identified as a salt water or fresh water so now james begins to say i want to talk to you about the source because we can talk about words that you speak but we need to go to the source of the words that you speak and the source of the words that you speak is our heart is our heart now this is the reason that we had to be born again we had to be born again not reformed but reborn because our hearts are deceitfully wicked there's no good way in man he is he is he's wicked by nature he is he is a sinner you don't have to you don't have to teach a man to sin do you a man sins by the nature you don't have to teach a dog to bark he barks because he's a dog you don't have to teach a man to sin he had to teach a man not to sin but the ultimate way that would be reforming but what we all need and needed was to be born again why the source the heart change the source ezekiel will begin to prophesy it long before pentecost in ezekiel 11 ezekiel 11 chapter 9 verse 19 ezekiel chapter 11 and verse 19 listen to god i will give them one heart and will put a new spirit within you and will take the stony heart out of flesh and give you a heart of flesh that stony heart was the adam heart it died it was it was as hard as a rock it was a stone unable to penetrate unable for god to speak through and god said there's coming a day that i'm going to give you a new heart and i'm going to put a new spirit within you again in ezekiel 18 verse number 31 he says cast away from you all your transgressions that's repentance cast away from you all your transgressions whereby you have transgressed and make you a new heart and new spirit for why will ye die o house of israel he said if you will repent if you will repent i'll give you a new heart and a new spirit again in ezekiel ezekiel 36 and verse number 26 a new heart also will i give you and a new spirit will i put within you i will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh it's the source it's the source so i'm thankful tonight i want to kind of do a little bit of double preaching if i could i want to say to all of us that have been born again thank god for that new source that we've got thank the lord for that new heart we're not perfect we're not perfect but we're not the way we used to be we're far from being perfect but i i i'm not what i used to be but god has put a new heart within me i use go ahead if you like to clap that'd be great that means glad for a new heart not perfect but i got a new heart right now in the new heart we're thankful for and if there's anyone here tonight and you've not been truly born again of the water of the spirit that's how god gives you a new heart if you have anything less than if you have anything less than apostolic book of acts plan of salvation you have not yet had the full new heart put within you you may be a good person a reformed person but yet there's nothing like having that brand new heart that's placed within you it came along in the book of john the gospel of john this begins to unfold it begins to unfold in the gospel of john john chapter 1 verse number 32. the bible says and john this is john the baptist and john bare records saying i saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove and it abode upon him and i knew him not but he that sent me to baptize with water the same said unto me upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descending and remaining on him the same is he which baptizeth with the holy ghost and i saw and bear record that this is the son of god john was told to look for a sign john was told to look for a sign john was told by the spirit of god that you're going to baptize someone and when you baptize this certain individual when you see the likeness of a dove come and abode or set upon him i want you to know this is he that's going to baptize you with the holy ghost i'm so glad that god has always given signs i'm so glad that god's given signs signs are so wonderful aren't they even in this life signs are great you you know you got mile markers and you've got exits and you've got you've got different things to tell you as you go along the way do you know that god has given us signs he gave john a sign keep that in mind a sign john chapter 7 verse number 37 listen to jesus christ john 7 37 in the last day that great day of the feast jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirsts let him come unto me and drink he that believeth on me he that believeth on me as the scripture has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water but this spake he of the spirit which they that believe on him should receive for the holy ghost was not yet given because that jesus was not yet glorified even jesus christ in telling about the infilling of the holy ghost said if you believe on me according to the scripture that out of your belly is going to come a sign out of your belly shall flow living living waters in other words when you believe on me and then he later connected he said this spake he of the spirit he's talking about the baptism of the holy ghost this spake he of the spirit which they should receive that believed on him but the holy ghost was not yet given because he was not yet glorified so the subject matter here is the holy ghost and so jesus says when you believe upon me there's going to be a sign out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water of course in the bible days water always represented life it always represented life it says in the word after that the holy ghost has come upon you you shall be witnesses unto me in other words we're going to carry this life-giving message to others many of us are here tonight because somebody got the holy ghost somebody got the water of life in them came to our house came into our life and witnessed to us and here we are now we've got the holy ghost inside of us and we're witnessing to others and telling a sign a sign mark chapter 16 verse number 15 mark 16 15. jesus said unto them go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned and the signs look how the lord is telling us and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover so then after the lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven set on the right hand of god and they went forth and preached everywhere the lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following amen can i tell you our words produce signs our words produce signs when we receive the gift of the holy ghost we have a new heart and a new spirit and we have the ability to speak the word of god to speak peace to speak deliverance to speak into situations of demonic activity the bible says these signs shall follow them that believe in my name that shall cast out devils i believe that we live in a very active demonic society but when we show up on the scene with the name of jesus and the water flowing out of us we begin to cast out devils we begin devils begin to be cast out demonic spirits may have people on your job and their whole you know and please get out of the get out of the motion that that in order for you to believe in demonic activity people have to be foaming at the mouth and frothing around laying on the floor that's that's hollywood junk demonic activity can simply be that satan's got a stronghold in that company we don't want no bibles around here we don't want that around here don't mention your faith around here don't don't don't mention that around here we don't we can mention every other faith but don't mention your faith all right can i tell you that's all the devil shaking in his boots because you showed up you showed up isn't that wonderful isn't that wonderful that we have that ability because we're believers the bible says in my name they shall cast out devils and they shall speak with new tongues all of this is supernatural all of this is by the power of god don't let anybody tell you oh in the name of jesus they're going to learn foreign languages to be able to go speak it to people it doesn't take supernatural ability to learn a foreign language so just x that one off and put that one to the side the tongues right there is talking about the baptism of the holy ghost because if i'm ever going to control this thing right here i need to always stay connected to the baptism of the holy ghost if i'm ever going to control this if listen if i ever if i'm ever going to control my tongue if i'm ever going to be to where i speak i speak seasons of peace i speak i'm a peacemaker i i'm someone that speaks encouragement that's i'm talking to myself right now i'm speaking encouragement over the youth department i want to speak encouragement over our our senior uh our senior saints i want to speak encouragement over us tonight it's wonderful that we're here many of you worked hard all day long i want to take my words tonight and i want to tell you that i'm so thankful and i know that god is thankful and grateful that you would come to the house of god tonight i want to encourage you with my words this evening that's why god has given us the ability to speak in my name they shall speak with new tongues we need the holy ghost church we need the holy ghost we need the holy ghost not just the people that don't have it we need the holy ghost we need the holy we need the continual touch of the holy ghost getting it one time and never wanting to get it again my little my our little grandson beckham he's counting he told me mother thorpe he came down from kid's quest a few weeks ago he said papa i got it again he said i've got it eight times now i've got it eight times now isn't that great i've got it eight times now papa i've got the holy ghost eight times eight times well you know what i'm thankful for that i think some of us adults ought to start talking i've got it eight thousand two hundred and thirty times you know cause we need the holy ghost really we if we're going to stay sweet pliable so winning god-loving people we need to be connected to the holy ghost we need to be connected to the spirit the spirit of luke god 24 verse number 45 then open he their understanding that they might understand the scripture he said unto them thus it is written and thus it behooved christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day and that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at jerusalem and ye are witnesses of these things and behold i send the promise of my father upon you but terry and ye in the city of jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high he led them out as far as to beth and he lifted up his hands and blessed them it came to pass while he blessed them he was parted from them and carried up into heaven and they worshiped him now pay real close attention to this and they worshipped him and returned to jerusalem with great joy and were in the temple continually in the temple praising and blessing god amen this was before they received the holy ghost do you know how to receive the gift of the holy ghost get in a frame of mind of praising and blessing god get in a frame of mind you're a good god you're a mighty god you're a wonderful god i love you for keeping your hands upon me god i praise you what a mighty god begin to look for things to praise god for begin to look for things in your life to thank god for and they went to the temple and they were continually praising and blessing god now that that you said well that that's for those that have never received the holy ghost no that's for us too that's how we get it eight times that's how we get it eight times we we come joy thanksgiving in our heart so now go back to verse 49 jesus said and behold i send the promise of my father upon you i'm sending the promise of my father now let's turn over to acts chapter one verse number four acts chapter one verse number four have i told us tonight we need the holy ghost have i told you tonight that we need the holy ghost have i told you we needed eight times acts 1 and 4 being assembled together with them commanded them that they should not depart from jerusalem but wait for the promise of the father which saith thee you've heard of me for john truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the holy ghost not many days hence when they therefore were come together they ask of him saying lord will thou at this time restore again the kingdom of israel and he said unto them it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the father had put in his own power but ye shall receive power after that the holy ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me that's that flowing water you shall be witnesses unto me both in jerusalem and in all judea and in samaria and unto the uttermost part of the war of the earth and there they were in the temple praising and blessing god i wonder what it sounded like i wonder what it sounded like i wonder if they went all the way back and somebody said i thank you for raising lazarus from the dead i wonder if they went all the way back and said lord i thank you that you took a little boy's lunch and you fed a multitude i wonder if they went all the way back and said lord i thank you for your teaching lord at first when i first started following you i was thinking about exiting many times but i seem to want to just keep following you lord i thank you for your word i thank you for it because they were in the temple continually blessing and praising praising god you know we got something to praise god for tonight don't we don't we have something to praise god for tonight number one number one we have true bible salvation nobody has to wonder you don't have to you don't have to guess it over i'm glad that i have been born again just like the bible says just like the bible says you've got something to thank god for tonight you you've got something to praise god for tonight instead of getting in the in the dumps of what you don't have why don't you try praising god for what you do have you may find that god is more apt to give you more if you'll learn first to be thankful for what he has given you i thank you for it tonight i thank you o god for it tonight you know i could have got up here tonight i could have studied today and i could say you know sister jeter you know we got a bunch of folks out in california we got a bunch of folks up in keenesport tonight we got some folks out sick it ain't gonna be a there ain't gonna be a a full crowd tonight and and and and then rascals some of them and then you know you got folks out in california you got some king sport some sick and you got some just just laid out church tonight all right not you all right but what good would it do for me to get up here and rant and rave on the ones that are not here now i'm not talking about the ones in california the ones in kingsport and the ones that are truly sick all right talking about them right what good would it do what what good would it do i had a pastor called me one time and asked me for my my my advice on something he said brother carpenter had to be out of town and he said i left the service with a minister here in the church and said i'm very perplexed on what i need to do he said i called home after church to find out how church went and i was informed that the the the pastor that not the pastor but the minister that i left in charge uh he he was very upset because only a handful of people showed up to church of which he got up and he said that he was not going to spend his good sermon on just a few people and he dismissed i said well the first thing you just really have to have a talk with him all right he just has to know if there's just one there you have church right because that one did come that one did come and then and then it's not his place to correct and all that but see sometimes that can get our mentality we can get our minds on what we don't have and look plumb over what we do have you can get your mind on what you don't have healthy in your body and forget you've got a lot that is healthy in your body well i've got arthritis you can see can't you oh come on now you uh i i don't i don't move i got arthritis in my joints you can hear cancer you can see cancer you still can walk i mean it might hurt when you walk i just believe if we will thank god for what we have we will thank god for what we have god may be more apt to give us what we don't have tonight but you've got to learn how to thank god for what you have why well i just tell you i just don't have a good company i just don't have a good job like being lee's god i just don't have a good job like being lee ben lee's got a good job i just don't have a good job like ben lee's god he's just got a good i tell you ben lee's got a good job ben lee's gotta i just no no and you know what you'll never have a good job like ben lee's god with that attitude you have got to learn to create a fruit and say you know what i may not have but i'm thankful that my brother's got a good job and i am even thankful for the one i've got because you know what i could be unemployed you know what i i could be where i i don't have a job i i i thank you god you know what you're doing i'm creating fruit for another season i'm creating fruit for down the road i i'm not going to get jealous of brother ben i'm not going to get upset with brother ben i'm going to thank god that god's blessing my brother but you just wait till my season comes i'm creating with my words i'm creating can you give him praise find something to praise him about right now come on find something to praise him about right now didn't take you very long did it you got to find something to praise him about tonight and then it happened it happened god i thank you for lazarus god i thank you that you came out of that tomb lord i've never received the holy ghost i don't know what it feels like god but lord you promised and you said to stay here in jerusalem till it came and god we're here i bless your name lord i praise your name god i'm not discouraged god if i've got to be here a year from now i'm going to be praising him i'm going to be praising you and all of a sudden acts chapter 2 and verse number 1 and when the day of pentecost was fully come they were all with one accord in one place sound like people of one language i wonder how we can blow the top off of every service if every one of us come to church ready to thank god ready to really think i mean ever pew everybody that's got the holy matter of fact if you've got the holy ghost you ought to praise him if you've got the holy ghost you ought to praise him and you ought to praise him more than just when i tell you to praise him it ought to be from the time you pull up god i'm glad it's wednesday night lord i just thank you lord god you are good you are good all the time you are good you are good in jesus jesus nobody like him you are good i praise your name lord i magnify you god you you are good the people of one language and suddenly they came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire and it set up on each of them and they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance now it's more than just tongues that happen there was and if you've ever been in the judge's chamber and witnessed an adoption it's one of the most beautiful sister tharp is one of the most beautiful things to stand in that chamber with that judge and watch that judge as he's got the power and he signs the papers and and a child or has been adopted in to a family a child that found them now there's no such thing as a unwanted child but there are there has been situations and circumstances when a child will find himself in a system of going from one house to another and one foster parent to another but then he stands in a judge's chamber or she and all of a sudden he signed that adoption there and the last name is changed and they're legally adopted into that family can i tell you what happened the day or night you and i got the holy ghost romans 8 14 happened romans 8 14 thank god for tongues thank god for speaking in other tongues but let me go under the hood of the car and let me show you romans 8 14 for as many as are led by the spirit of god they are the sons of god for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear but you have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry ever father the spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of god now follow this now follow this closely if children then heirs heirs of god join heirs with christ if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also glorified together i reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us do you realize when you got the holy ghost you were adopted into god's family you were adopted into god's family you became a joint heir with jesus christ you became a you became a joint heir with him you became adopted into his kingdom now now just just exactly what does that mean well i i had a footnote in my bible i got a footnote it says adoption refers to position and privileges the adoption analogy emphasizes that we are not just small children but adult sons and therefore heirs of god god has given us his spirit so we can have freedom from sin and a loving father-son relationship with him god adopted us thereby conferring all of his riches and benefits upon us the spirit the first benefit of our adoption adopts us into god's family enabling us to address god as abba father abba the word for father is not formal but the familiar or intimate word a child will use to direc address his own father similar to the english word daddy you understand that evening that morning when god gave you the holy ghost and you begin to speak in tongues sign that more than just sign went on adoption papers were signed you had the name of jesus you've been given the position of sonship you're not afar off from god anymore he is abba father you are joint heirs with him you are a new creature with him all things become can you praise him with me right now all things all things all things position adoption joint errors i have the privileges and i have the power now follow me now follow me now closely now we understand the things that jesus did the early church understood the power of adoption and they did what jesus did how did they do what jesus did because they had been adopted they had been adopted they were able to do the works of god because they truly believed they truly believed that they were joint heirs they truly had an intimate abba father relationship let's just kind of follow this along for a moment in matthew chapter 13 verse 2 we'll do this very quickly matthew chapter 13 verse number two speaking about jesus christ and great multitudes were gathered together unto him great multitudes were gathered together under him so that he went into a ship and set and the whole multitude stood by the shore do you realize that jesus ministry drew the multitudes now let's go to the book of acts the holy ghost has come acts chapter 5 verse number 14. and believers were the more added to the lord multitudes both of men and women so now you know god help us help us as an apostolic church to understand that we are truly joint heirs with jesus christ god is on your side fear not god is on your side stay connected to him god is on your side stay connected you're joined heirs so now the early church drew multitudes let's go to acts chapter 2 37 acts chapter 2 verse number 37. now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart and said unto peter and to the rest of the apostles men and brethren what shall we do then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost for the promise is unto you this is great praise god for the promise is unto you and to your children to all there are far off even as many as the lord our god shall call and with many other words did he testify and exhort saying save yourselves from this untoward generation then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day they were added unto them about 3 000 souls man that's quite a church that's quite growth from 120 to 3 000 you know why they've connected that they are truly joint heirs with god you understand that faith can be if we just if we are under if we can get in the mindset god if it is your will anything is possible if it is god's will anything is possible if it is god's will multitudes well let's look at matthew 15 31 this is jesus this is jesus matthew 15 31 in so much that the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb speak the maimed to behold the lame to walk the blind to see and they glorified the god of israel jesus christ made the blind to see jesus christ made the lame to walk he had the power he was god incarnate he had the power to create create the eyeballs and and reconnect the spinal cords and and what have you he had all of that he had all of that power they became joint heirs on the day of pentecost no wonder in acts chapter 3 and i hope you're getting this tonight no wonder in acts chapter 3 verse 2 shortly after they had received the holy ghost which is joint heirs with christ acts 3 and 2 and a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful to ask alms of them that entered into the temple what happened peter and john said peter said silver and gold have we none but such as we have give i thee in the name of jesus rise and walk how did he do that he had the faith good people he had the faith that he was joint heirs with god i didn't get a little lucky rabbit's foot around my wrist or around my neck i didn't get some religious trinket when i got to talking in tongues i you became joined heirs with jesus christ we are privileged we are positioned i hope we pray for the sick a different way after tonight's message the blind to see now the only interesting thing about the blind scene is in jesus calls the blind to see but in acts chapter 13 verse 11. it was a little reversal they made the sea seem to be blind because the man was interfering with the salvation opportunity of another individual and he was smitten with blindness joint heirs with jesus christ jesus prayed at the tomb of lazarus and lazarus came out of the grave the apostles prayed that the disciples prayed in acts chapter 12 when they prayed in acts chapter 12 because peter was in prison chained to 16 guards god caused a deep sleep to fall upon them and the angel touched peter on the side told him to get up the angel went out and opened the iron gate of that prison and he walked out so i guess what i'm just trying to communicate with us tonight is that we are people of one language god is able to do anything if it's in the scope of his will if it's in the scope of his will and you know what i've always said about sick people as long as there's breath in the body we ought to pray like we've never prayed before as long as there's breath in the body what situation do you need to speak to tonight what situation in your life do you need to start speaking you need
