he was standing with me this morning the book of matthew chapter 13 matthew chapter 13 verse number 33 jesus spoke often in parables the reason he spoke in parables was that he wanted the hearer to be hungry enough to search he spoke in a parable so that you would need to mix hunger into understanding his ways he didn't just lay it on the ground he clothed it in a in a parable verse 33 another parable spay key unto them the kingdom of heaven is likened to leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till the whole was living all these things spake jesus unto the unto the multitude in parables and without a parable spake he not unto them that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying i will open my mouth in parables i will utter things that have been hid have been kept secret from the foundation of the world then jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house and his disciples came unto him saying declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field for a few moments this morning i want to leave you with this thought the plan of god the plan the plan of god how many is glad god has a plan and it's not just going to evacuate us down the road i'm glad there's a great evacuation plan would you pray with me today father i love you father i thank you for the word lord i thank you for the word god that's been kept secret from the foundation of the world god i'm hungry this morning lord i'm desiring this morning god lord i want i want to know what's been hidden from the foundation of the world lord move upon us today you've given us a plan god we're hungry enough we can see this plan in jesus name i do thank you amen and amen give the lord a hand of praise as you're seeding the plan of god the plan of god the bible tells us in revelation chapter 13 and verse 19. excuse me chapter 13 verse 8. it follows along with matthew 13. he said i have spoken parables to you that i may utter things to you that have been kept secret been kept secret since the foundation of the world this plan that god has this plan that god has wasn't an afterthought when man fell headlong into sin it wasn't an afterthought this church the people the praise the worship was not an afterthought that god just tinkered with creation and decided as things went on to do this and do that the plan that you and i enjoy called salvation was kept secret kept hidden from the foundation of the world revelation 13 8 says and all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him this is speaking of the antichrist whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world in other words god already had the plan of redemption in mind god already had a plan man how smooth things went here friday because somebody had a plan god already had a plan jesus christ and the mind of god had already been crucified according to the plan first peter chapter 1 verse 19 the apostle peter will verify this in his scripture he says in first peter 1 19 but with the precious blood of christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot now let's see what that means there that means that jesus christ fulfilled the requirements of the law what you and i could not fulfill jesus christ was without spot and without blemish he fulfilled the requirements of the law who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you here once again the writers want us to know about the plan of god this great evacuation plan this great plan of salvation i do believe that the book of genesis is filled with all kinds of typology that god was using bible typology that when the plan was fulfilled when the plan was manifest when he died on the cross rose again on the third day and the holy ghost came on the day of pentecost and the plan of salvation was revealed to man in one verse one verse gives us the plan of salvation acts 2 38 now there's many other verses that tell about the plan but acts 2 38 puts it all in a capsule then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost i am so thankful today for the plan of god i am thankful that this plan has been given to you and given to i that we can be born again how many is glad you're born again this morning it's interesting to study the book of genesis because we see the we see the uh the type we see god showing us through a typology the plan we know that after sin entered the human race that man went from bad to worse we know that man went from breaking one law to breaking every law we understand that the bible simply tells us that the earth was corrupt there were two there were two types of people there were two types of people they were the sons of men and there was the sons of god there were the descendants of cain they were wicked vile sinful lustful men there was the sons of abel and seth that were god lovers god worshipers they had it in their their minds to worship god there were two classes of people on the earth in that day you were either referred to as a son of man or the son of men sons of men are you referred to as the sons of god if you fell under the category of the sons of men it meant that your lust ruled it meant that you did what was right in your own eyes there were no boundaries there were no principles there were no commandments you live by the slogan if it feels good do it because you were number one if you were referred to as a son of god sons of god then you were one that had principles in your life you were one that had boundaries in your life you were a worshiper of jesus you were a worshiper of god almighty but the bible tells us of a tragedy that happened that when the sons of men that when the sons of men the sons of god saw the daughters of men they took them wives they began to mingle together and they they mingled together until sin and sin let me tell you sin will always be aggressive you can't flirt with sin you can't coddle sin you've got to repent of sin you've got to call it what it is and ask god to help you to get out of it you can't live with sin sin slowly slowly took over until the entire human race was corrupt it was so corrupt and vile and sinful that god looked down from heaven and god said i repent i repent i look down upon creation and i repent that i made man i repent that i made adam and eve i repent that i've made all this he saw them in their sinful activity and god said i repent of all this i change my mind i repent of all this and then god said i will not always fight with man my spirit will not always strive with man i could stop right there for a moment and tell you that god loves you and i so much that he's willing to fight for us he's even willing to fight you for you he's willing to fight you for you but god looked down and god said a spirit is not always going to strive with man and then god laid out a time table and at the end of this timetable god said i'm going to destroy man from off the face of the earth as a matter of fact god said i'm going to destroy every living thing upon the earth everything is going to be destroyed upon the earth but then the bible tells us about a man called noah a man called noah genesis 6 and verse number 8 but noah found grace in the eyes of the lord noah found grace the word grace means strength noah found strength in the eyes of the lord in other words noah noah was someone that was still living a life that was pleasing to god noah was still trying to keep up and worship god in an acceptable way and god looked down and the bible says that noah found grace in the eyes of the lord now i told you about typology noah his name simply means rest rest that's what his name means rest how can noah be a type of jesus christ noah's name means rest listen to jesus christ in matthew chapter 11 and verse number 28 listen to jesus noah's name means rest jesus says matthew 11 28 come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest so noah's name means rest it means rest jesus christ has come to give us rest aren't you tired of fighting aren't you tired of searching aren't you tired of never just never being content and never feeling complete i just simply want to tell you today jesus christ is our rest well it goes on genesis chapter 6 verse 13 follow along with me and god said to noah the end of all flesh has come before me the earth is filled with violence through them and behold i will destroy them with the earth make thee an ark of gopher wood rooms shalt thou make in the ark and shall pitch it within and without with pitch and this is the fashion which thou shall make of it the length of the ark shall be 300 cubits the breath of the ark 50 cubits the height of it 30 cubits a window shalt thou make to the ark and a cubit shalt thou finish it above and the door of the ark shall thou set in the side thereof with lower first floor second and third stories shall thou make it there were three stories on that ark and there's three steps to the plan of salvation there was first floor second floor third floor and there's three steps to the plan of salvation repent be baptized receive the gift of the holy ghost god is trying to give us a plan now rest noah is a builder noah is a builder typology noah built the ark and if i can just give a plug for noah's ark uh in in outside of cincinnati it's it's worth the drive up there it it it's worth going through and seeing that they've got a lot of neat things to show you in there one of the things to show you is they take the size of the art and they put it in all kinds of storms and all kinds of waves had it been shorter a little bit more narrow it had it had it been any other size than what it was the storms would have capsized it because it was of this size it was of this size it was able to maintain through whatever wave would come its way i believe that because god has a reason that he said i want it this long and this wide and this high i want it made of gopher wood i want you to put pitch waterproof material on the inside and on the outside noah was a builder his name not only means rest he was a builder jesus christ is a builder jesus christ is a builder matthew chapter 16 verse number 18. it's a plan it's the plan matthew chapter 16 verse number 18. listen to what jesus says and i say also unto thee that thou art peter and upon this rock i will now who's he says going to build it upon this rock kenny carpenter's going to build this church bomb this rock i will build this church right so if he builds it guess what that makes him guess what that makes him that makes him a builder you see all this typology that is coming into play noah was a builder jesus christ was a builder genesis chapter seven verse number five because here's where it all hinges day care staff school staff you had a great you had a great evacuation plan but that plan was only as good as the people that obeyed it what kind of pandemonium brother or would we have had here friday if sister johnson said no i don't think we want to go down to dots memorial i think we want to go up here to the wiggles and get us a cold drink while we're waiting for them and what if another teacher said well i think we need to go down here to aubrey's and have a little lunch right what if guess what would happen around here pandemonium would have broke out and some folks who got fired but that's beside the point all right boy i'm a mean old guy you know bark is a lot worse than my bite i promise why did it work out good how come it was stellar because people followed the plan they we didn't question we didn't have time to have a committee meeting we didn't have time for people saying hey i'd like to talk about this hey einstein there may be an explosion over here poisonous gas may get in the air and i got 400 people that i want to get as far away from this building as i can and we got a plan and if we'll follow it it'll it it'll follow through it'll be successful do you agree with me a plan is just as good as those that follow the plan verse seven chapter seven verse number five and noah did according to most that the lord had commanded him come on talk back to me now until the last two nights i've been over outside of nashville uh doing a hispanic revival and them folks talk back to you i don't know what they're saying but they talk back to me all right they talk they they talk back to me uh i took brother mark with me and i i had the interpreter tell them that marco single oh look you know amen talk back to me this morning thus did noah according to all that god commanded him what's the last three words of that so did he so did he what good is a plan if you don't follow the plan what good would it have been when they were going around sister emily and all of them are going around do you have all your children accountable i've got most of them i think we need to resurrect that old song they sang years ago started out to make a hundred 99 and a half just won't do i think there's a culture today that's willing to accept 90. but i started out i want to be ready on that eventual evacuation morning i want to be ready to get all the way out of here not most of the way out of here noah did all that god commanded him jesus christ matthew 26 verse 42 jesus christ showing his humanity understanding that it was written of him in the volume of the book the plan from the foundation of the earth had already determined his life jesus christ showing his humanity the bible says he went away again the second time and prayed saying o my father if this cup may not pass away from me except i drink it read the rest with me thy will be done he said he shows his humanity he sees what's going to happen tomorrow and his humanity kicks in and requests that the cup would pass but then he comes back to this nevertheless thy will be done thy will be done i am so thankful that jesus christ followed the complete full plan of god the bible says genesis 7 and 5 again and noah did according to all that god had commanded him genesis 7 and 9 there went in two and two and unto noah into the ark male and the female as god had commanded noah over and over we keep having this insertion in the in the narrative sister carpenter there's this insertion in the the narrative the holy ghost keeps in inserting thus did noah according to the commandment of god it's there for a reason it's not spoken once not twice but three times it repeats that he did that which was right he did what god had commanded him and then we come to verse 16 of chapter 7 verse 16 of chapter 7. and they went in and they that went in went in male and female of all flesh here it is again as god had but god's going to add something to this time and the lord shut him in boom it's amazing there's measurements to the arc there's measurements to the arc the length of it the way the the breadth the height there's measurements there's even measurements to the window that's on the ark there's a measurement it's a cubit it there's a that's a measurement that you will not find where there is a measurement for the door because the door and may i add was the only door there wasn't a back door a side door god only has a front door if you're going to get in you've got to come in the front door but here's an interesting thing there's no measurement for the door you know why there's no measurement for the door it's because the door represents jesus christ and the door represents you and i coming into jesus christ and i don't care how wide your sin is it'll fit in that door and i don't care how high your sin is it'll fit in that door you don't have a sin that cannot fit in that door you don't have a life that jesus christ cannot help you do not have a situation you do not have a problem you don't have a past nor the fear of a future that god almighty cannot take complete control and victory over would you just give him some praise right now i'm glad that door is without measurement and god shut him in god shut the door no man will tell the time that god shuts the door god shut the door and let's go down to verse 21 and the bible says and all flesh died that moved upon the earth both a foul and of cattle and a beast and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth and every man all in whose nostrils was the breath of life of all that was in the dry land died every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground both man and cattle and the creeping things and the fowl of the heaven and they were destroyed from the earth and noah only remained well part of this plan i know which side i want to be on because outside the ark there's nothing but death there's no hope for life everything dies outside of the ark and noah only remained alive and they that were with him in the ark that's where i want to be in this plan i don't want to be outside of the ark because everything everything dies now follow this noah now becomes the new head of humanity this is that everyone could place could trace their lineage back to noah now before noah's time it started with adam it started with adam and the lineage came down and everybody could say i trace my image back to adam but now on this new earth that noah is noah rest is the head he is the head of humanity everybody can trace their lineage back to adam how is that scripturally important well it's important because noah is a typology of jesus christ noah was rest noah was builder noah completed the plan jesus christ is spoken of in first corinthians in the new testament first corinthians chapter 15 and verse number 45. first corinthians chapter 15 verse 45. now i know this morning it's a little quiet in here but i would imagine when they sat down several years ago and worked out this disaster evacuation i imagine it wasn't very lively in the room when they talked about maybe a bomb threat when they talked about a tornado it talked about a lot of different things i would say when they were sitting down talking about the plan it was a little somber this could happen and and this but can i tell you when we got them 400 kids out of here and got them down in that parking lot there was chatter there were parents driving up saying thank you all thank you so much i got the text oh thank you so much thank you for taking such care of our children parents who's getting out of their car just thanking us just like when that great evacuation morning happens and we're all called over yonder oh what's singing oh what shouting oh what praise we'll be saying thank god you remember that sunday morning when we had that dry bible lesson on the plan i'm so glad that that i got a part i'm so glad that i repented that morning i'm glad that i got baptized that morning i'm glad that i got filled with the holy ghost that morning i don't want to be on the other side trying to tread water i want to be on the glory hallelujah side giving god all the praise i'm going to show you who i trace my lineage back to first corinthians chapter 15 verse 45. and so it is written the first man everybody say the first man the first man adam was made a living soul the first man adam was made to be able to communicate with his savior his soul could communicate with his savior the first man now i want you to know that god has created one man and another man was begotten and that was the man christ jesus the first man everybody say first man the first man adam was made a living soul and the last adam was made a quickening spirit he only made two men the first man he created the second man was begotten the first man had the ability to communicate with his savior the first man had a soul that could reach out to its god but the second man was a life giving quickening spirit adam couldn't adam could the first adam could not give life but he could connect with the life-giver but when he lost his ability to connect with the life-giver god had a plan god had a plan and this plan was to make a second adam different from the first adam because the first said wow let me read it the last adam was made a quickening spirit a life-giving spirit how be it that was not first which is spiritual but that which is natural follow this now afterward that which is spiritual the first man is of the earth earthy the second man is the lord from heaven look at this plan the first man god scooped up dirt and made him from the dirt but the second man he was begotten by the holy ghost the spirit of god the holy ghost overshadowed mary and mary gave birth to the flesh of god and he is a quickening spirit that's why you ought to worship jesus this morning that's why you ought to get jesus on your mind you ought to get him on your mind he is a life-giving spirit if you don't worship jesus you'll get no life if you don't give your life to jesus you'll get no life you'll live a dull dead life but would you give your life to jesus would you give him praise take your voice take your lungs fill them with air and just prays the name of jesus this morning come on praise his name jesus jesus something happens when i call his name something happens when i call his name jesus life giver something something happens when i call that name sometime later noah reached and he said the old ark has hit land she's not moving anymore she hit a mountain when rest comes to rest on the mountain i'm talking about calgary noah represents rest he's a new testament typology of jesus christ so noah noah wants to know is it safe to go out into the world so he reaches and gets a dove his name means rest jesus came that we might have rest he reaches and gets a dove and sends a dove out of the ark and after some time the dove did not return we don't read where the dove ever returned but i i i i i'm happy i i want to tell you we don't read where that dub ever came back to that ark that dub just flew away but typology i found that dove the other day in the bible because that dove flew through exodus leviticus numbers deuteronomy first and second third first and second kings first and second samuel ezekiel nehemiah jonah joel that dove flew over and that dove flew into the new testament and about that time the man christ jesus was being baptized and when the man christ jesus was baptized the holy ghost that dove came down upon him and a voice from heaven said this is my beloved son in whom i'm well pleased oh aren't you glad you've got the rest that jesus can give you today i'm glad i've got the rest that he can give you oh i wish you'd help me praise him today i wish we'd get some worshipers of jesus christ jesus like noah sent the dub of the holy ghost john said i john in john 1 32 and john john chapter 1 verse 32 and john buried a record saying i saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove and it abode upon him jesus gives the holy ghost john chapter 7 verse number 37 i said jesus gives the holy ghost he said i come that you might have life and more abundantly i came that you might have rest because sin put god back to work the bible says that god ended his work and rested on the sabbath day but when adam and eve sinned god had to put his work clothes back on he had to go back to work because he wanted to bring man back into his presence and the bible says i came that you might have life rest and that you might have rest more abundantly what does that mean he came to be the payment for our sin that's life but he also came to give us the holy ghost that's more abundantly john 7 37 in the last day that great day of the feast jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink he that believeth on me now follow this he that believeth on me as reader's digest says uh i i did misquote that i'm sorry let me let me bring it down he didn't believe it on me as grandma says he that believeth on me as my denomination says he that believeth on me as the scripture has said nothing wrong with your denomination as long as your denomination connects with the scripture he that believeth on me as the scripture hath said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water but this spake he of the spirit which they that believe on him should receive for the holy ghost was not yet given because that jesus was not yet glorified so he tells them about the holy ghost coming he says if you'll believe on me as the scripture has said out of your belly which is king james way of saying your reproductive organs you're going out of your belly you're going to issue rivers of living water there's going to be life issuing from you but it says the holy ghost had not yet been given because that jesus had not yet been glorified the ark had not come to rest on calvary but when the ark comes to rest on calvary the dove gets sent out because he had to die he had to be crucified he said if i go away and prepare a place for you i will come again and receive you unto me that where i am there you may be also and and we we kind of got this mixed up and i've been trying for years to correct it we use john 14 at a funeral he said at funeral i i would imagine psalms 23 and john 14 are the two most popular texts taken at a funeral psalms 23 fits john 14 doesn't well it says let not your heart be troubled you believe in me believing god believe also in me in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you behold i go away to prepare a place for you that where i am there you may be also if you'll please understand he is talking about he is talking about dying on a cross being buried raising again ascending up into heaven because when that happens when he goes away and is seated at a place of mediator he is the mediator between god and man he sends the holy ghost back to us the ark came to rest the dub went out jesus came to rest at calvary he had been working because his final word at calvary is this it is finished it is finished the debt has been paid now the dove can be released and 50 days after calvary the dove came down from heaven but this time it didn't just come upon one man in the water it came upon 120 disciples of jesus christ oh i'm glad for the plan this morning i'm glad for the plan this morning now stay with me just for a moment please john chapter 14 verse 6 jesus saith unto him i am the way the what truth i am the way i am the truth and life no man cometh unto the father but by me now what did jesus say jesus said i am the truth right can we get that down i am the what i'm the truth john 14 and verse 17. he's talking about the holy ghost coming he says even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive he's talking about the holy ghost coming even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not neither knoweth him but you know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you so now look what we got we've got the person of truth who is that who is the person of truth jesus christ inside him is his spirit which is now called the spirit of truth of which the world cannot understand him but we understand the spirit of truth we have the person of truth jesus christ we have the spirit of truth which is the holy ghost now look at verse chapter 15 of john chapter 15 verse 26 listen to jesus speaking about the holy ghost but when the comforter is come whom i will send unto you from the father even the spirit of truth which proceedeth from the father he shall testify of me john 16 13. you see if you get the holy ghost you're going to start talking about jesus because that's his spirit that's why you need that new birth of the spirit because your talk needs to be about jesus those songs says when you see me coming i got him on my mind how be it how be it when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and will show you things to come oh let me just break this down you got the person of truth help me tell me who the person of truth is jesus you got the spirit of truth that's the holy ghost that was in him all right because he told them i'm with you but i shall be in you so we got the personal truth we got the spirit of truth but i want to add one more other thing ephesians 1 13 talking to the apostolic church at ephesus ephesians 1 13. talking about jesus in whom he also trusted talk about jesus after that you heard the word of truth oh wait a minute we have the person of truth we have the spirit of truth but now we have how to get the spirit and glorify the person is because he first was a person of truth sent the spirit of truth that caused the word to be truth because we have the bible because men were moved on by the holy ghost i'm going to say that again as a person of truth sent the spirit of truth and we have the bible today because the by the holy ghost spirit of god moved on men and they wrote the bible that's how we got it in that order but not for you and i you and i haven't seen the person of truth we haven't seen the spirit of truth so what do we have today here's what we have to start us out on we have the word of truth don't get bored with preaching don't get bored with teaching please don't develop an appetite for sensationalism you know some preachers got to get up here and tell you about an angel 10 foot tall he's got to tell you about this but when he starts reading scripture you go sound asleep you can never receive the spirit until you get the word of truth in whom also he trusted after that you heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation watch this look at this in whom also after somebody say after in whom also after that you believed you were sealed with that holy spirit of promise you've got to hear the word you've got to hear the word and believe the word and when you hear the word and believe the word here comes the holy ghost here comes the spirit of god you begin to believe it all of a sudden you begin to feel it wailing up inside of you it's joy unspeakable it's full of glory there's nothing like it in this world hey i'm not glorifying this i'm not you may be seated i'm gonna quit here in a minute they'll help me god i'm gonna try i'm gonna tell you something today i can speak about this i do not glorify this i am ashamed of this i wish i had lived for god i wish you present voice i wish i had the testimony that you all got i wish i could get up and say that that that i was raised in the church i don't know what that i wish you have son you have a better testimony than your pastor you have a better testimony i can speak from both sides of the aisle i know what it's like to be drunk and people say well getting holy it's like being drunk ain't got a thing to do with being drunk well it's like getting high really i've been both before conversion all right i've been i've been both i'm sorry i know you can go to lunch in a few minutes holy ghost has never made me puke the holy ghost has never made me sick to my stomach get up the next day oh my head just busted oh my head you no holy ghost don't do that you get the holy ghost you get up the next morning and say my god i got to go get some more of that i got to get my i got i got to get me some it's joy unspeakable oh helly folks i'm so happy today i don't know what to do right now i'm so glad i got the holy ghost why don't you stand with me right now oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god it's joy unspeakable and full of glory it's the best thing that could ever happen to you if you've not received it get it this morning if you've not received it come on down here right now let's confes let's get our sins under the blood let's get you baptized in jesus name let's get you god come on church let's all gather up around the altar it's joy unspeakable it's full of great glory oh i love you today god oh i love you today god come on church come on up around the altar come on church come on up around the altar come on give me some update music all right come on up around the altar it's party time it's celebration time it's joy time it's joy time yeah yeah yeah yeah oh god and you shall receive power after that the holy ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me in jerusalem judea samaria you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost for the promise is unto you come on church listen to the word of truth listen to the word of truth today listen to the word of truth this morning oh listen to the word of truth come on church i need you to help me praise him there's some people on the verge of their seat acts chapter 2 verse number 1 and when the day of pentecost was fully come they were all listen to the word of truth they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire and it set up on each of them and they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave utterance go ahead go ahead right now pray church receive the gift of the holy ghost if you want it right now lift your hands ask god to forgive you of your sin forgive me of my seeing god lift the burden in jesus name lift the burden in jesus name yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah whoa that's a holy ghost oh yeah i was free it was out of that great glorious glorious day my is yes glorious days is was is oh is is oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes yes come on join the party join the party one has received a gift to the holy ghost come on join the party with me oh yes come on join the party come on join the party heaven is rejoicing oh heaven is rejoicing it's a day of joy it's a day of peace it's a day of victory join the party come on church get your hands lifted get your voices raised thank thank you god oh yeah into your glorious day glorious is jesus ray into your glorious place glorious day oh thank god thank god thank god thank god thank god i just continue to worship god continue to worship god we've had one received a gift to the holy ghost why don't we just rejoice right now
