Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
My God shall supply all your need
- Read aloud together: "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
- For the Lord God is a sun and a shield — from that one verse we learn two things about our God: he is the giver of our life, and he is our protector. If God can't keep you, you can't be kept.
- "No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly" — the good things are given to those who walk uprightly, so learn how to walk uprightly. "O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee."
- Trust is developed in relationship, and there is no other way to get trust outside of a relationship — and the only way a relationship grows is in the soil of communication. He would hand his car keys to his son-in-law, because through relationship he had come to trust him.
Scriptures: Philippians 4:19; Psalm 84:11-12
The word providence
- The word providence is not in the Bible — but neither is the word rapture; connect scripture together and you know there is going to be a snatching away.
- John Piper's book on providence traces the word to provide: pro, which is Latin for forward or on behalf of, and the Latin for to see — but the word does not mean merely to foresee.
- When an individual says "I'll see to it," he means "I'll take care of it; I'll provide for it; I'll make sure it happens." Providence, in reference to God, is the act of purposefully providing for, sustaining, and governing the world — he doesn't have to create what you need tomorrow; he has already created it.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried
- "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son — accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead."
- "God, I don't understand you; it hurts" — if you have never gotten close enough to God to tell him how you really feel, then you've not gotten close enough to God.
- Abraham went and got a hold of the promises: God brought him forth abroad and said, "Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: so shall thy seed be."
- "And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness" — we are not called to understand God; we are called to believe him.
- The promise outlives the circumstance: Abraham believed he would scoop up the ashes, carry them home in a bag, and look for a resurrection — because the problem is temporal and seasonal, but the promise is eternal.
Scriptures: Hebrews 11:17-19; Genesis 15:5-6
The author and finisher of our faith
- "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith" — when God wrote your faith, it didn't end with defeat; if you stop in a chapter of defeat, you stop before the end of the book.
- "Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame" — the joy was not in the cross; the cross was the payment. The joy was the mediator: a holy God reconnected with unholy man.
- Sister Yoko's death on Christmas morning is not her defeat: if you stop the story there, cancer won — but heaven took the soul, and there is going to be a reuniting of the soul and the spirit and the body. We win.
Scriptures: Hebrews 12:2
In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen
- God did tempt Abraham: "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest" — and Abraham rose up early in the morning and went unto the place of which God had told him.
- Isaac said, "Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering."
- On the other side of the mountain a ram was climbing from rock to rock: hell will fight you the hardest right before the ram comes to the top of that mountain — never, never give up.
- Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the ram caught in a thicket by his horns, and called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: "In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen" — the same Hebrew word for provide is the word for seeing.
- This building is the testimony: the Armenian architect told to just draw while they refused to talk about borrowing; the prodigals' names sealed in waterproof bags behind the brick; the prayer for glass answered the same day by a man whose settlement had just come in; and a Spanish-speaking congregation with 64 present the night before — God has got that ram in your life.

tonight I thank you for your word I thank you Lord for people that have a desire in the middle of the week to stop what they're doing bring their families God as my heart rejoices when I drive across this parking lot and I see God families walking across this parking lot little children moms and dads the elderly god making their way into this place to read your word God my heart rejoice Joes God tonight once again on this last midweek service of this year God would you speak to us as you have done every midweek service God we'll give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus name we pray amen and amen God bless you you may be seated brother Josh Weatherly and the praise team did so awesome tonight would you give them a gratitude hand of Thanksgiving right now let me read to you a little something that I typed out today about my feelings about Bible teaching all Bible teaching and preaching all Bible preaching and teaching should inform us about our god it should inform us about our God all Bible teaching and preaching should inform us about our God and in Inspire faith in our hearts in the god that we worship and the god of whom we have committed Our Lives to how many are glad you've been committed not against your will either how many are glad you have been committed I'm glad to be committed to the Walk of God now listen to this the more our hearts and Minds The more our hearts and Minds can understand about the God of the Bible the more faith and the deeper our relationship with God grows it's the importance of Bible teaching it's the importance of preaching is to build faith in our hearts that we will come to know better deeper Fuller about the God that we worship and the god that we have committed Our Lives to the more that that we learn of him through his word the deeper the deeper the relationship with him is developed look at Psalms chter 84 verse number 11 and 12 Psalms 84 verse number 11 and 12 listen to this word from God for the Lord God is a son and a shield now two things there you going learn about God number one God is likened he created but he is likened to the son what's the Sun the Su n gives us our natural life our life without the sun there is no life the psalmist said the Lord God is a son and a shield now two things we learn about God right now and that that simple verse number one God is The Giver of our life and God is our protector he is a shield he is a protector don't have to fight for your position in God if God can't keep you you can't be kept that's right isn't it a comfort to know that he that watches over Israel never Slumbers or never sleeps for the Lord God is a shield the Lord God is a son and a shield well that's good to learn that about our God tonight he's our life and he is our protector let's read on the Lord God will give Grace that's strength and Glory no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly now this no good thing will God withhold hold is great but he only he only gives those good things to those that walk uprightly so now I want to learn I really want to learn how to walk I really want to learn how to walk uprightly it's very important that we learn how to walk uprightly verse 12 oh lord of hosts that word host there means a captain in a battle he's the captain of this battle oh lord of hosts blessed is the man that trust in thee now that's an important word right there trust in God trust trust to have to have to have trust to have trust now I'm G to tell you if Pastor Ericson came to me tonight and said can I borrow your car I need to I need to go across town I would say absolutely absolutely here it is go you know while you're at it fill it up it's long gas go ahead use it and that that is the truth tonight that is the truth but you know I can't say tonight and please don't Stone me for this but not everybody in this room would walk up to me and could ask me could I have your car keys that I would give them to you well why not cuz I don't trust you and you don't either well maybe if we could get in a relationship and and that's what my son-in-law and I are in we're in a relationship we'd get in a relationship and you'd ask for those car keys they may be a good chance I'm not saying absolutely for sure but there's a good chance I give it to you why because I have through a relationship ship through a relationship I have come to trust you you see when we can learn how to trust God I'm telling you when we can learn how to trust God it's amazing what we're going to walk and find out with god listen to this trust is developed in relationship there's no other way to get trust outside of a relationship there's no other way to get trust outside of a relationship and the only way a relationship grows is in the soil of communication it's the only way it grows in the soil of communication of course now night I'm not talking about me and a a set of car keys and a son-in-law I'm talking about you and I and God and the only way that we can come to trust God is to get to know God that's right and the more that we come to know God the more that we see how good God is he is a good God if you knew how good God really is we'd have no problem with people serving God people don't commit to God it's not really some kind of church standard or something that the Bible says to do it's not what the Bible I just don't agree with those Ten Commandments I just don't I just don't agree with this verse or that verse you know what it really is the reason you don't agree with it is because you don't know God and you don't know God because you haven't disciplined your life to set under preaching and teaching that's why it's so important that's why it's so important that when you come to the house of God that you discipline your mind to be focused upon God's word this this this midweek Service is like a refilling a recharging we ought to we ought to treat our souls like we treat our cell phones the last thing we want to do of the day is put that cell phone on a charger so that when we get up in the morning bless God it's got a fresh charge if we'll do that for a device how much more should we come when the doors of the house of God are open and say I got to get back on that charger I I got I got to I got to sit back down on that charger I I've had a good Monday and a good Tuesday but I need to come and hear the songs of Zion one more time I need to come and hear those songs I'm getting a little weak in my in in in in myself that's what this is all about that's why that's why that's why you ought to do everything in your power tonight to pay attention if you don't pay attention you will pay the consequences if you don't pay attention you will you will pay the consequence trust is developed in relationship and relationship grows in the soil of communication now I want to I want to talk about a word tonight the Providence the Providence of God now the word Providence is not in the Bible all right the word Providence is not in the Bible but neither is the word rapture in the Bible but we know when we begin to connect scripture together that there is going to be a snatching away a calling away from this Earth his bride we know that scripture after scripture we call it the rapture we just use the word rapture or snatched away we're going to be snatched away when the trumpet sounds so the word Providence the Providence of God this word and I'd like to share just a little bit in the the Theologian John Piper's book uh Providence uh John Piper writes this he says the word Providence is built from the word provide provide he said this word Providence is built from the word proide which has two Parts Pro PR p r o which is Latin which means forward or on behalf of and VI which is Latin which means to see it's where we the Latin word we get the word video from the Latin word vi vi D to see so you might think that the word provide would mean to see forward or to foresee but it doesn't Piper writes it means to supply to supply remember the opening verse my God shall do what Supply how much all your needs this word means to supply what is needed to give substance and support So in reference to God the noun Providence has come to mean the act of purposefully providing for or sustaining and governing the world he is the god of Providence he is the god who has purposely provided it's already there everything you and I need is already provided ided by the god of Providence why is this Piper goes on there are two interesting reasons one is based on English sayings such as and and and the other he talks about English says and biblical U events he says Piper says we have an English saying that goes like this I'll see to it I'll see to it um or it means to signify when you an individual says I'll see to it it means I'll take care of it I'll provide for it I'll see or make sure that it happens so it could be that putting of the Latin VI C together with the Latin word Pro to and toward to to produce to see to and to come to mean just to foresee but to mean to see it I will take care of it I will see that I will see that it happens and he says that's one way of looking at the word provide but he said the Bible story of providing or the Providence of God goes much much much deeper than this this God that we serve has already in his vault in his treasury room he has already got everything we need I don't know about you but that's a comfort tonight that we are embracing a God he he doesn't have to create what I need tomorrow he's already created it my God shall supply all your needs he's the god of Providence well let's go to the story tonight of Abraham and I I want to first begin reading from Hebrews chap 11 and verse number 17 verse number 17 it's an interesting read it's so it's Abraham is in the Hall of faith and it says in Hebrews 11:17 it goes like this by Faith by faith Abraham when he was tried when he was tried let me stop for a moment how do we get Faith today how does faith come are some just born with it and others not not so Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God now that's an interesting verse of scripture Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God it could have simply just read Faith cometh by hearing the word of God but it takes more than just hearing it one time don't ever complain that the preacher well he he's always preaching that exactly right because it's repetition you're going to catch on because of repetition and and then uh for example when pastor's teaching on Doctrine you say man he teaches on Doctrine all the time well news flash you're not the only person going to heaven there's brand new people coming in the church every week around here and these brand new people these brand new people want to know what's kept you so many years amen and I'm going to tell you when you fall in love with truth when you fall in love with truth you never get bored with it when you fall in love with it you never get bored with it and so Faith cometh by hearing and hearing over and over again Faith come by hearing and hearing the word of God by faith Abraham is in a relationship ship with God by faith when he was tried that's interesting when he was tried he offered up Isaac and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son of whom it was said that in Isaac shall thy seed be called accounting that God was able to raise him up to raise him up even from the dead from whence all also he received him in a figure now in Hebrews 11 is not the first time the writer brings Abraham to the story Abraham is in Hebrews 11 way before this verse when it says by faith Abraham was called and Abraham went out not knowing where he was going what is that God is developing faith in you you answered the call of God you heard the gospel preached you walked down to an altar you repented you turned your life around you got baptized in his name and filled with his Spirit what is that you are you are leaving where you're at but God in time God in time is going to try you every person is going to face the trial of your faith you're not just going to go around babbling that you've got faith sooner or later God is going to put your faith on trial he's going to try you and he did Abraham he did Abraham he said to Abraham after that long wait for that boy to be born he now says to Abraham Abraham I want you to take that boy that boy you love and I want you to offer him up on a mountain that I'll show you as a burnt offering to me now wait a minute I just I just typed out several things today when I when I when I read what God was asking I don't understand you God would anybody be transparent enough in this room today that you have walked with God long enough that things have come into your life that you have had to say God I don't understand you I I I don't I don't I don't understand you I I don't I don't understand you God now maybe some of you are looking at me saying man I've never done that and I just I can't believe you're even admitting I have god well I'm not done yet I've got a comma right here I don't understand you God it hurts God it hurts and if you have never gotten close enough to God to tell him how you really feel then you've not gotten close enough to God God this hurts God I I don't understand I believe I don't I don't believe I'm far away tonight from Abraham saying what Isaac God he's the promise he's the channel of which you said that all the nations of the world would be blessed through him that my descendants through Isaac would be as the star of the heavens I I don't understand God it hurts God but God I'm reminded of your promises can I tell you tonight when you find yourself in that situation where you're saying it hurts God I'm hurting God I don't understand God you didn't don't don't stop there don't then go back and get a hold of the precious Promises of God Almighty Abraham not only said I don't understand you God it hurts God but he went and got a hold of the promises the promises found in Genesis 15:5 it says this and he brought him forth God brought Abram forth abroad brought him out of the tent and said Abraham look now toward heaven and tell the star s if thou be able to number them and he said unto them so shall thy seed be this is before Abraham ever had a child before Sarah ever conceived God said get out of your tent Abraham and look up toward the heavens and look at all the stars and Abraham I'm telling you if you can count them you're going to be able to count how many descendance you're going to have so shall thy seed be but look at verse six and he believed in the Lord and He the Lord counted it to him for righteousness watch this transaction it's it's it's a spiritual thing it's the foundation of our faith when God told Abraham something he didn't understand Abraham believed it you see we are not called to understand God we are called to believe God there are going to be things in your life you're not going to understand why did this happen why did this one have to die and why did that one get healed why did that one Prosper why that one didn't I'm here to tell you God never called us to understand him a worm cannot understand a man and God will man will never be able to understand God but I got good news he doesn't want you to understand him because you would be equal with him he just simply says I want you to believe me if I tell you that your wife has been Barren and you're all going to have a child then I just simply want you to say I believe you God and when Abraham said I believe you God God said count that man righteous there's not been a righteous man since Adam didn't believe me in the garden but right now right here I have found a righteous man and God said it is righteousness with him oh give him praise tonight I believe you God I believe you God I believe you God verse six and he believed in the Lord and he counted it to him for righteousness now listen to this Abraham trusted his God God I will do what you have asked me regardless of the pain because I know that you are a able From the Ashes to resurrect Isaac again look at this the promise outlives the circumstance the promise is greater than the problem Oh don't you love it I said the promise is greater than the problem the problem is temporal the promise is eternal the problem is seasonal it'll be gone soon it'll be in your rear view and you will have witnessed the Providence of God that God already had the answer when you were ringing your hands God was cool calm and Collective because God is the god of Providence don't you believe that tonight oh I believe that tonight God I will do what you've asked me it'll be painful to tie my boy up it'll be painful to explain to him this it'll be painful to cut his throat watch him bleed it'll be painful to strike a match and watch his body be reduced to ashes but God your promise is greater than this situation and God I will scoop up the ashes from the altar put them in a bag carry them back home with me me and look at those ashes and say God there'll be a resurrection right there one day because God you gave me a promise he believed it he believed it he looked beyond Abraham looked Abraham Abraham looked beyond look look look look at this verse here uh verse Hebrews 11:19 again please accounting accounting he got the figuring in his mind he got the figuring in his mind that God was able somebody El say amen God was able to raise him up even from the dead from which also he received him in he received him in a figure I'm going to look past my pain I'm going to look pass my not understanding and I'm going to be looking with anticipation to the promise of God somebody in this room tonight's got a bag full of Ashes somebody in this room tonight's got a situation that hasn't turned out the way that you thought it should turn out somebody in this room tonight God has been talking to you about what he's going to do in 2024 God has been trying to awaken some of your faith tonight that God's going to visit your prodal in 2024 God is going to visit some loved ones in 2024 but watch out the adversary has always hated faith and the adversary will try to steal that away as just an emotion but you ought to reach up and get your promise tonight and hold that bag of Ashes up and say God he didn't turn out the way that I thought he would she didn't turn out the way that I thought she would but that doesn't mean you're through with them God I'm going to wait right here because because I believe there's going to be a resurrection I believe there's going to be a resurrection if you believe that with me tonight why don't you shout amen come on if you believe that with me tonight won't you shout Amen to be like Jesus to be like Jesus on Earth I long to be like Jesus that's a song but that ought to be a way of living well to be like him Hebrews chapter 12 after that chapter of Faith Hebrews chapter 12 and verse number two look at look at that with me for a moment Hebrews 12 and verse 2 looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our what faith the author and the finisher of our faith he wrote your faith and I got news for you when God wrote it when God wrote it it didn't end with defeat it ended with Victory he is the author and the finisher of our faith if you stop in a chapter of defeat you stop before the end of the book it is a book it is a book he is the author and the finisher of our faith some people will be sarcastic at funerals when or you you preachers try to sooth the weak-minded people with this Resurrection well you it's obvious you don't believe the book you see sister Yoko if you stopped right what happened on Christmas day you could say defeated cancer won no cancer didn't win as a matter of fact the cancer she has is right now dead but Yoko she's more alive right now than she has ever been in all of her life she has never had life like she's got right now but if you don't want to believe the Bible you have to stop and say defeat but oh friend when you read the back of the book and I know it's a worn out phrase but we win Hallelujah we win we win can I tell you there are there's people that have more faith in a story about reindeer flying through with a chubby man with gifts all across the world there's got that that come through but I'm going to tell you I'm going to tell you something that's real tonight what's real tonight is not reindeer flying through the air but I'll tell you what happened on Christmas morning where Yoko and Bill live God sent Heavenly paw bears that came to that room and said Yoko it's time to go home you have run your race you have finished your course you have fought your fight and henceforth is laid up for you a crown of righteousness now Smith's Mortuary took the body but but heaven took the soul and one day there's going to be a reuniting of the soul and the spirit and the body why he's the author and he's the finisher of our faith somebody ought to say praise God tonight looking unto Jesus looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith now follow him follow him brother Hammond follow him follow Jesus who for the joy that was set before him Joy somebody say that word with me joy who for the joy joy that was set before him endured the cross hold up the word joy and cross should not be in the same sentence well if you're a man it shouldn't be but if you're the god of Providence it ought to be who for the joy who for the joy that was set before him endured the what cross despising the shame and is sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God he is a mediator he is a mediator The Joy was not in the cross the cross was the payment The Joy was not in the shame the shame was the payment but the joy was that God lost fellowship with man in the garden man had no mediator man had no go between they're required a mediator to reconnect a holy God with Unholy man but the god of Providence said I am the lamb slain before the foundation of the world I'm able to supply all of your needs according to my riches and Glory if the devil's got a trick God has already got it solved if the devil's got a new tool God has already broken that new tool because he's the God he's the God he he's the god what was the joy what was the joy the joy is the mediator the joy is you and I hearing the death burial and resurrection of the Gospel preached unto us and believing that 2,000 years ago God became flesh hung on a cross suffered bled and died from my sins and whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved and we heard that message and we called on his name we called on it at repentance we called on it at baptism we called at it spiritual baptism and because of that there is a pathway made and God gets Joy the Bible says there is joy in heaven over one sinner that repent you know who that Joy is it's a holy God saying welcome home daughter welcome home son I'm glad to have you in the family I'm glad that you've turned your life folks if this don't get your fire started your wood is wet I'm telling you tonight God is an awesome God He is the God of all Providence amen let's read it real real quickly tonight let's read it real quickly Genesis 22 And1 this is actually what happened Genesis 22 And1 it came to pass after these things that God did tempt Abraham said unto him Abraham and he said here behold here I am and he said take now thy son thine only son Isaac whom thou lovest get thee into the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of Abraham rose up early in the morning saddled his ass took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son and clave the wood for the burnt offering and he rose up and went into the place of which God had told him then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place a far off Abraham said unto his young men abide you here with the ass and I and the lad will go Yonder and worship and come again to you Abraham took the wood of of the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac his son he took the fire in his hand and a knife and they went both of them together and Isaac spake unto Abraham his father and said my father and he said here am I my son and he said behold the fire here's Isaac now he said father I see the fire and I see the wood but where is is the Lamb for a burnt offering I see the fire and I see the wood but where is the Lamb Abraham said my son God will provide he's the god of Providence he's the god it already has it God is either going to provide a resurrection God is going to provide God is going to provide that's an interesting word there proide God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering so they went both of them together they came to the place which God had told him of Abraham built an altar there laid the wood in order bound Isaac what a conversation must have taken place bound Isaac his son lay him on the altar upon the wood Abraham stret forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven and said Abraham Abraham and he said here I am here am I and he said lay not thine hand upon the lad neither do thou anything unto him for now I know that thou fearest God seeing thou Hast not withheld thy son thine only son Isaac from me God said this hold up I see that you were willing willing to go through with this but look at verse 13 with me and remember the question of Isaac here's fire here's wood where's the sacrifice where's the lamb and Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold behind him a ram caught in a Thicket by his horns Abraham went and took the RAM and offered him up for the burnt offering in the stead of his son can I tell you something when you're going up the mountain that I don't understand and you're climbing sister Penton the mountain it hurts God I don't understand God it hurts Lord I don't understand all this can I tell you on the other side of God's Providence is an animal jumping from rock to rock because when you can't see it God can see it it when you don't know it's there that's why you never need you don't ever need to give up when you don't know it's there you got a ram don't give up hell's going to fight you the hardest right before the Ram comes to the top of that mountain fight and fight and fight on and never give up never never never never never give up the problem is seasonable the promise is eternal he is the God of all Providence God is going he turns he turns sees the ram goes and gets the RAM and offers him up but then Abraham says I've got to call this I've got to do something and Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah jyra as it is said to this day in the mount of the Lord it shall be seen now what's interesting the same Hebrew word for provide is the same Hebrew word for seing you see you'll never see God like you should if you don't believe in the god of Providence if you don't believe that he is the god that's able he is the god that is able to apply all of your needs according to his riches and Glory he is that God oh I've got several things here and I probably just bring it to an end but um I I I believe probably the Purdue have went home um for the Christmas season but if you years ago brother Matt Purdue called me and we had a conversation and after that conversation Matt and Marin without a promise of a job made a step of faith we want to get our kids in the school we want to get our children we want to get our children down at that youth group and they made a step by faith he put some resumés in and an unbelievable job open it's an un it is an unbelievable job that God hand delivered Matt Purdue it's it's it's unbelievable the job what is that luck huh Sinners believe in luck what do you think it was the Providence of God when he's on the phone talking and saying brother Carman I got to get my family down there at church I got to get my kids and I got to get I got to get my family there we got to get our we got to get our family there God was saying hey I I don't know how we're going to do it I I don't know how and God is saying that's all right I got a ram coming up the other side of the mountain just just believe me I got a ram I I don't know I I really believe tonight there's somebody here that needs this message you are about to give up you are about to quit your faith in God and God's trying to tell you if you'll just believe me I've already got the answer if you'll just walk with me up the Rough Side of that mountain if you'll just walk with me through your hurt if you'll just walk with me through your misunderstanding I promise you I've got a ram let me let me can I get an amen from the church on this statement here how about the Long Mountain of the marville miracle how about that Long Mountain it was a long Mountain if you don't see it as a Long Mountain you wasn't a part of it it's a Long Mountain my scripture my thoughts that I said to God was one out of Jeremiah how long oh Lord how long but you know what God met us every step of the way God met us every step of the way with contractors contractors that got in here and and please just forgive me I'm going to go ahead and ask for some forgiveness if I leave out a name or two tonight just please forgive me and and and please pray for me and if it bothers you that bad uh get me a gift certificate for a steakhouse or something we'll be even all right God sent us a brother Hyde God sent us a brother cogal God sent us a brother H Hawkins God sent us a Carl Perry God God God sent us all these things well why didn't you have them years ago we didn't need them then but God said God said God said when you're looking at building this building and you sat down you and your wife sat down with that Armenian AR architect up in Michigan and and and he tells you to dream and you just start dreaming there on his on his dressman table and you you just start all this and this this building begin to be written out and you're just you're just dreaming and he keeps saying over and over again how much you're going to borrow how much you going to borrow I kept telling Penny don't answer him don't act like you don't hear him just don't answer him how much we borrow how and finally one day finally one day finally one day he just kept asking and I just looked at him and I said uh well that's irrelevant that's just irrelevant he said what what do you mean it's irrelevant I said what does it matter how much we could borrow notice the wording he said well I I need to know I said you just build just just draw draw brother draw finally one day I dropped it on him and I don't know if any of y'all seen aren Cagan but he's Armenian and he's got the Lord I hope he's not I hope he's not listening tonight but he's got more hair in his eyebrow than he does on top of his head all right and finally one day I said art we're not going to borrow money we're going to believe God that God is going to provide the means to build this building he said these profound words you're kidding me so no I'm not kidding you that's what we're going to do you see I'm going to tell you something tonight that realm of sacrificial giving would have never broke out in this church had we not needed it to break out but because we stepped out and matter of fact it was this time of year it was it was right is the new year we stepped out and a spirit of sacrificial giving broke out in this church people people all through this church were sacrificially giving people were coming in people were coming in to to to to unexpected bonuses people were coming in to unexpected inheritance people were coming in families were moving here one family moved here that were not a wealthy family but for a season of time God allowed unbelievable monetary money to flow through their hands and it flowed into this building what are you talking about I'm talking about the RAM on the other side of the mountain when God found a people that would say We'll Walk with You year by year we'll just buy concrete we'll buy two before we don't even know when we're going to get in here we'll sit on top of each other up the road but we're working on a testimony going to the bank would not have been a testimony a lot of people go to the bank and get the money but when God found some Abrahams and said I'm willing to go up the Rough Side of the Mountain I I I I'm willing I'm willing to go up the Rough Side of the Mountain I I'm willing to God God was saying yes and I'm willing to send the ram up on the other side of the mountain and never forget one of the Rams that I saw one day we had had the brick put on the building and y'all do know the front of this building behind the brick on this front of the building in between the brick and the facing the plywood or whatever it was for facing is in waterproof bags names of prodal that we nailed up there we nailed got the video of it we got the video of uh which hide was that Gerald climbing up there and nailing those names and The Brick Layers bricked them in so there's names of B there's names of prodical that God sees there inside that wall well that big beautiful glass that you see out there now was plywood was plywood it was plywood because we didn't have the money to buy the glass it's very expensive and we didn't have the money to do that and one day up on the hill I'm telling you about the RAM on the other side of the mountain brother Tharp one day up on the hill I was in the auditorium and I got my faith built up I got to reading where old brother Joshua got to pray and told God to stop the Suns giveing more Daylight time so he could fight and I just stepped out and I said God you're no respector of persons you're absolutely no respector a person God and God if you listen to Joshua I'm asking you God that old plywood is done turned rot and black it doesn't look pretty anymore it looks like an eyes sore it's buckling up I said God would you just let somebody drive by there and would you just let somebody be moved on to buy all that glass for the front of that building I know sooner prayed that prayer I know sooner prayed that prayer if you remember the old church if you stepped out through the altar if you were like on the if you were looking if you were on the if you were on the pool pit if you stepped out through the double doors to the right you went into the fellowship hall and there was the daycare children in there eating lunch and I stepped out through there and there stood brother Randy newcomer there to brother Randy newcomer and his dog what's his dog name Chester CH Chester I opened the doors and there was brother Randy and Chester standing uh well Chester was in his arms and Randy said I I I'm so glad I'm so glad you're here brother Carman I won't talk to you for a moment and I said well brother Randy the the daycare kids are trying to eat L's me and you and Chester go outside for a minute all right so we stepped outside and brother newcomer said to me he said brother Carpenter he said uh he said I've come from an attorney's office and he said my my settlements come in I didn't even even know brother Nichols I didn't know the man had anything to settle I I didn't know there was something that he was settling with an injury I said oh is is that is that right I said well I'm glad for you brother brother newcomer I'm glad for you and Chester I'm thankful for you yeah glad for you he said no but what I want to ask you what I want to ask you he said how much would that window be down there at the church he said that's he said that's old rotten wood down said how much would it cost right now to have that window put in and I told him and he said would you go ahead and order the glass and I'll bring you the check this weekend I looked at him in Chester so help me God it happened just like this I looked at him in Chester Britney I looked at him in Chester I said thank you brother Randy I I really appreciate that I thinking I'm just I'm standing think oh God I just prayed this prayer oh God you've done a quick work oh God I was really kind of dis discombobulated and I said Thank you and he walked off I went and got in the car I went and got in the car and I sat down and I called my wife and I told her I said you'll never believe it but Randy newcomer just brought the glass for the front of that building can I tell you God has got
