if you'd have your bibles and would stand with me this evening so good to see everybody in the house of the lord so good to have our guest with us tonight in the house and uh one special guest that i want to make mention of sister connie perry's mother sister phillips is here worshiping with us tonight and a kind of a connection that we've got sister phillips for many years worked in the ministry at the knoxville church in the daycare and she helped direct a lot of souls to god she worked there in course tonight we had a daycare meeting in the events center a great staff of people that are interested in not just having a child care program but they're interested in changing the lives of people and i certainly do appreciate sister phillips it's so good to see you here worshiping with us tonight acts chapter 2 and verse number 4 and they were all filled with the holy ghost and begin to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance pray with me father thank you for your word thank you tonight god for your word lord that's been given to us we wouldn't know you god without the word we wouldn't know what you're like we wouldn't know what's available to us today god we couldn't even defend ourselves against our greatest enemy the devil if it wasn't that we didn't have your word so lord i thank you for your word tonight that lets us know that we're where we're supposed to be and we're doing what we're supposed to be doing god in this day lord i thank you not only for your word but i thank you for people that would come out on a wednesday evening to hear your word taught lord for the next few moments would you help me as pastor would you help me lord to teach would you help me lord to see the hearts opened up and knowledge would be increased god in the hearts and the minds of people tonight and lord the more knowledge we have of you the more that we can serve you in jesus wonderful name we pray amen and amen you may be seated i heard it said once that people come to church on sunday morning because they love their church and then i heard it said that people come to church on sunday night because they love their pastor and then i heard it said people come to church on wednesday night because they love the lord and if that would hold true tonight we've got a lot of folks here that love the lord jesus tonight that love him amen go ahead just let me recap for a moment last week and then we'll start the birth of the church the birth day of the church we have just celebrated easter but don't put your easter lilies up we've just celebrated easter but the true celebration was was that for 40 days he walked the streets of jerusalem showing himself alive and teaching things pertaining to the kingdom of god and on the 50th day he birthed a church he birthed a church the birthday of the church is pentecost and and that's a that's something i want you to understand too do you know that all major denominations all major denominations all agree on this statement that the church was birthed on the day of pentecost they all agree that the church was birthed on the day of pentecost and the bible says that it was i read you the verse of scripture the birth of the church they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance then about eight years later eight years later the gentiles and we ought to be very thankful for a gentile by the name of cornelius a gentile came into the church in his conversion his conversion went something like this acts chapter 10 and verse number 45 they are the circumcision which that is the jews which believe were astonished as many as came with peter because that on the gentiles also was poured out the gift of the holy ghost for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify god so then we have the gentiles coming in to the church and i'm thankful because i am a gentile and you are a gentile and we're thankful that to have the bible that us gentiles can come into the church just for a little added bonus in acts chapter 19 and verse number 6 i will call them the religious the religious acts chapter 19 and verse number 6 the disciples of john i'll just simply call them the religious the religious come into the church and when paul had laid his hands upon them the holy ghost came upon them and they spake with tongues and prophesied so we have the birth of the church acts 2. we have the gentiles coming in acts 10. we have the religious people receiving the holy ghost acts 19. but it doesn't stop with just your initial infilling of the holy ghost the bible will go on to tell us that this wonderful gift of the holy ghost will also empower our prayer life now i have the heading of praying in tongues or praying in the holy ghost acts chapter or excuse me romans chapter 8 verse number 11. now remember the book of romans is written to an apostolic church the book of romans is written to those that have received the holy ghost with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues he writes to the romans there the church at rome and romans 8 and 11 but if the spirit of him that raised up jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you now look at that word dwelleth there that word dwelleth means to live they'll call a house a dwelling place so we understand that receiving the gift of the holy ghost the infilling of the holy ghost we don't need to see that it is god that it is god visiting us but it is god dwelling it is god dwelling inside of us again with that in mind let's look at romans 8 11. but if the spirit of him that raised up jesus from the dead dwell in you that means to live in you i'm so thankful for my initial infilling of the holy ghost but none of us should be satisfied with a museum piece none of us should be satisfied with a historic experience with god dwell if the spirit dwell in you he that raised up christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you that e-t-h there at the end of dwell that e-t-h means a continuance means a continuance just like jesus speaking speaking on prayer said if he that asketh e.t.h it means you keep on asking he that knocketh you you keep on knocking so when we talk about the holy ghost and i'm glad that that the vast majority of us in this room tonight the vast majority of us in this room tonight have received the holy ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues but what i would like to keep us pushed toward is to know that the holy ghost is dwelling in us the spirit of god is dwelling inside of us just go down a few verses to verse number 14 of romans 8 for as many as are led by the spirit of god they are the sons of god if you for ye have not received for you have not received the spirit notice that's a small s for you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear the first time you were born you were born with a spirit little s and it was a spirit of bondage to fear that led to fear but ye have received the notice capital which means god the spirit of adoption whereby we cry abba father now look at the parallel here he said the first time you were born with your spirit and it was a spirit of bondage you were born you were in bondage to the adamic nature of sin nobody no no one had to teach you to covet it came automatic nobody had to teach you to lie it came automatic our adamic nature was automatic we had to be t we someone had to teach us not to do these things but that spirit that we have was a spirit of bondage that led to fear but someone found us and someone preached to us the plan of salvation and we received the spirit of adoption there was someone who adopted us into his family i was adopted from the adamic nature of sin and i was adopted into the family of jesus christ we cry abba father verse 16. the spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit now look at the parallel here capital s means god that small means man that small s means man spirit the spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of god in other words this is where we preach and teach this no-so salvation you know that you know that you know that you receive the holy ghost well how do you know i just know how do you know because his spirit bore witness with my spirit that i am now a child of god aren't you thankful to have a no-so salvation aren't you thankful tonight to have a salvation that nobody can talk you out of nobody i don't care how smart they planned i don't i care how smart they claim to be nobody can talk you out when you have that initial experience with god his spirit bears witness with your spirit his spirit tells your spirit his spirit tells your spirit to further back this up look at first corinthians chapter two and verse number nine now i know that we hear this a lot at funerals but it's not really uh in the context of a funeral message but in first corinthians chapter 2 and verse number 9 listen to what paul says but as it is written i hath not seen nor ear heard neither hath it entered into the heart of man the things which god hath prepared for them that love him there's something when a man loves god he receives something that his natural ear can't hear and his natural eye can't see and his natural heart cannot conceive as it is written i hath not seen nor ear heard neither have entered into the heart of man the things which god hath prepared for them that love him but wait a minute look at the next verse but god hath revealed them unto us by his spirit for the spirit searcheth all things yea the deep things of god look at that eye hasn't seen ear hasn't heard it's not entered into your heart but if you love god then god gives you his spirit and when he gives you his spirit he begins to reveal things to you even the deep things of god this is why you need to receive the gift of the holy ghost because god's got some great things that he's going to reveal to you if you'll just love god and receive the gift of the holy ghost now watch watch verse 11. for what knoweth the things of a man what does a man know what does a man know save the spirit of man which is in him you only know what your spirit knows that's what paul says for what knoweth the things of a man save the spirit of a man of man and notice those that spirits all a small s save the spirit of man which is in him even so the things of god knoweth no man but the spirit of god now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of god that we may know the things that are freely given to us of god that's why the holy ghost is essential you cannot and you know you don't need to you don't need to look you it's too many people get caught up with well do i have to speak in tongues to go to heaven you're asking the wrong question you're asking the wrong question that's the that's the wrong thing to get on a tangent about you've got to understand you're not going to get to heaven without the spirit of god and and not only that you're not going to know the glorious things that god has prepared so why get tripped up over speaking in tongues when if you just back up a little bit and begin to look at it from a from a panoramic view and see if all i know if i don't have the holy ghost all i know about god is what my spirit will let me know about god and sometimes that spirit can be molded by a denomination it can be molded by religion religions can mold your spirit that this is as much of god as you can know but oh friend when we'll open up to the word of god and allow god to baptize us with the holy ghost then god opens up our mind and god begins to reveal to us things out of his word and we see glorious things out of his word oh thank god can we just praise him for a moment right now i am so thankful i have the gift of the holy ghost i am so thankful i have that resident in my life spirit of the world or the spirit of god spirit of the world the spirit of god go back with me to john chapter 14 the gospel of john john chapter 14 and verse number 15. listen to what jesus says love has everything to do with it if ye love me keep my commandments if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not neither knoweth him but you know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you look at what love's got to do with it we've got to love god folks we got to love god we got to love god good people because he's a god worthy to be loved he will do you so good he will bless your life you know what the regret you'll have you know what the regret you'll have you'll have the same regret that i've got uh the only thing i regret about god i wish i had given my heart to god many many many many years ago i wish i hadn't waited to be 16 to surrender my life to god i wish i could i wish i had surrendered my god to god when i when i was much younger i wish i had given my life to god that's the only regret about god that i've got and i'm here to tell you he's not a grievous god he's not an old task master oh i want you to know if you'll surrender your life to god and let god fill you with his spirit of which he wants to of which he wants to i said of which he wants to have you ever give much thought why he came like a mighty russian wind that's why that boy that's in love with that girl that's finally said yes to a date he don't get to her house right at seven o'clock if she said that he'll pick me up at seven he's sitting in the driveway at 5 30 waiting on the gal to come out because he's in love with her you ever thought about why it came like a mighty rushing wind he was in a hurry to get back into man he hadn't been in man in thousands of years since adam in the garden and now the pathway had been made by calvary and the time had come up on the day of pentecost and when the time clock hit the day of pentecost he came like a mighty rushing wind he came go give him some praise right now i said give him some praise right now i'm so glad i got the holy ghost tonight whoa hallelujah he's so good he's so good to us if you love me keep my commandments i'll pray the father he'll give you he will give you he will give you a another comforter look at john chapter 16 verse number 12. listen to what he says this is why you need the holy ghost and you need to have god living in you after when you've received the holy ghost initially you need to keep him living in you you need to stay in the you need to stay in the atmosphere you say well how how do you keep the holy ghost stay in the atmosphere of when you receive the holy ghost staying that same you know people say well you know bill carpenter i finally got it i had some things in my life that was in the way and man i got it out of the way and boom god filled me with the holy ghost you know how you keep god living in your house always keep things out of the way you only keep god living there don't don't don't ask for the old guys to come moving back in because if the old guys come moving back in that same god that field you will just step out on the outside let the flesh come back in well i feel the lord here tonight i do i feel the lord here tonight keep him in your heart john chapter 16 verse number 12 listen listen to jesus i have yet many things to say unto you but you cannot bear them now he said i got some things i want to tell you but you can't handle it you can't hold it you can't handle what i want to tell you why how be it verse 13 how be it when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and he will show you things to come look at that he said i jesus stand there with him he said i got i got some things i'd like to show you and i'd like to tell you but you can't handle it you can't take it but said the day's going to come when the holy ghost comes and when the holy ghost comes he's going to enlighten your mind and he's going to begin to lead you he's going to begin to guide you he's going to begin to show you things have i got any witnesses in the house tonight is there anybody say hey i'm with you bro carpenter there's things in my life you know when i first got the holy ghost there's things that happened since that have blown my mind that's things that have happened that i never would have believed things could have turned out the way that they did turn with me to romans chapter 8 verse number 26. listen to him talk now romans chapter 8 verse number 26 say amen everybody romans 8 26 likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities helpeth our infirmities now folks i'd like to tell you that when we initially received the holy ghost we were made perfect i'd like to tell you that when we were initially received the holy ghost that that that you know we were just mature and all that that's why i tell parents that have small children get the holy ghost don't say to them you're supposed to have a holy ghost yeah they still eight years old too uh you know you know it's good you just know it's good oh you're supposed to have the holy ghost you're supposed to have the holy ghost that's right i got the holy ghost but i'm also living in my flesh and our flesh has infirmities infirmities mean weakness don't be deceived to think you don't have a weakness every person in this room tonight everybody has got a cross they may be shaped a little different and your your weakness may not be my weakness but grant you we all have a weakness but the good news is somebody say the good news oh all of you say the good news the good news is likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities now notice what he did say he didn't say that the holy ghost takes them he says the holy ghost helps us all right if somebody comes over in my yard needs to be mowed and i'm out there mowing the yard and they come over and they say hey i want to help you and i say good come on here's the mower and they start mowing the next thing they know i'm sitting on the porch sucking on lemonade looking at them they'll say wait a minute now i said i want to help you i want to help you like why don't you get your height off the porch and get a weed eater all right too many of us think that we can just give god our infirmities and go sit back and fold our arms and do nothing and god's saying wait a minute i didn't say i was going to do all the work i said i was going to help you the spirit is going to help your infirmity some of your infirmities may be an anger issue some of your infirmities may be scars of your past but god says if you'll just learn to worship me in the midst of your worship if you'll just say god help me with these scars god help me with these issues god help me with this oh god tonight god help me to be an overcomer god he said i'll just step right in in the midst of that and the spirit will begin to likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought you don't know how to pray but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings with groanings which cannot be uttered cannot be uttered means cannot be expressed with words cannot be expressed with words we don't know how to pray like we ought to we don't know how to ask like we ought to we don't know what we should ask for like we ought to but the spirit helpeth our infirmities and maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered he comes in the holy ghost begins to groan within us the holy ghost begins to groan within us and we don't even know what to pray for or how to pray but the holy ghost begins to make sounds the holy ghost begins to make utterances now the natural man can look at that and say well that's silly that's that's ridiculous i can't understand how you could be in touch with god i can understand if you could read poetry or or you could cite some kind of prayer of the second century but you're just moaning and bringing sounds and and things i cannot be words are not expressing you can call it what you want to but god calls it intercession and god calls it making a way where there doesn't seem to be a way folks tonight i'm not only glad that i've got the initial infilling of the holy ghost but i'm glad i've stated a part to where i can let the spirit help my infirmities oh come on let's praise him right now come on let's bless his name right now i magnify you jesus i love you lord i thank you god and he that searcheth the hearts verse 27 knoweth what is the mind of the spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of god wait a minute now i saw this today and i thought i could just kick myself right now because most of the time we all know this right here and we know that all things work together for good to them that love god to them who are called according this purpose but wait a minute you can't just pick slice that verse out and cut and paste it to any situation in your life and say well i know all things work together to the good of them love god nor call according his purpose i don't know why it's not working but i know all things work together for good him love god and called according his purpose it only works if you're allowing the holy ghost to pray through you and when you're allowing the holy ghost to pray through you you don't understand what you're saying but you're gonna walk out of the prayer room and say i know that all things going to work together for the good to them that love god and who are called according to his purpose how can you say that because i've just allowed the holy ghost to pray through me i've just allowed that the spirit of god to come that's right church don't don't just accept the holy ghost is a little bitty trinket on your religious belt buckle that you've notched that you've got the holy ghost check mark off that bucket list but keep it alive in your heart keep it alive inside of you whatever phase in life you're in whether you're a young married or an old married whatever phase of life you're in pray in the holy ghost he will help you pray in the holy ghost hey something about praying in the holy ghost the book of jude only has one chapter jude chapter 1 verse number 17 but beloved remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our lord jesus christ how that they told you that there should be markers in the last time boy are we not seeing a day of mocking who should walk after their own ungodly lust these be they who separate themselves sensual that means fleshly you know why they're fleshly having not the spirit but let's don't dwell on the mockers tonight because the mockers are not here oh some of the mockers and i don't know why if we're so wrong while they watch us online i shouldn't have said that markers i'm even glad you're watching and i'm praying monker that god will get a hold of you and you'll come to your senses and stop fighting the very thing that's going to save you i'm going to tell you marker god is going to put you in a situation one day that you're going to have to call the church god's going to break the back of your pride you're going to have to god's going to god's going to lay on your heart and god's going to tell you that he's going to give you an answer if you'll call the church and ask for a prayer so i i don't i don't i don't even want to run the markers off from online even if they have to delete delete a lot of your comments that you make these they separate themselves they're sensual they don't have the spirit that's why they act the way they do but i'm doing what i said i wasn't going to do i'm not but you beloved you you you you but you beloved building up your selves on your most holy faith now how can i build myself up how can i build myself up how can i build myself up how can i build myself up when others are tearing me down but ye beloved building up yourselves on your most holy faith praying in the holy ghost do you know when people are tearing you down that the enemy wants you to start tearing them down and somebody said it wisely they said if both of you are slinging dirt you're both losing ground amen and so when they're tearing you down you know what you need to do hey they're trying to tear me down they're questioning my integrity they're questioning things about my life they're trying to tear me down and i'm starting to kind of listen to it i'm starting to kind of be beat down and but all of a sudden i say i need to get to the prayer room and i get to the prayer room and i start praying in the holy ghost and i start building myself up and i start oh friend i start building myself up it don't matter what they say my god they're giving somebody a rest if they're talking about me they're giving somebody else a rest i just start praying in the holy ghost and i get myself built up you beat down pray in the holy ghost the prime example of this brother nolan is acts chapter 4 and verse number 21. the prime example is acts 4 and 21 living color they had done a miracle it was not received by the religious the religious group arrested peter and john and the bible says in verse 21 so when they had feather threatened them that sounds like tearing somebody down don't it threaten them threaten them we live in a day of threats don't we threatened them threatening them and when they had further threatened them they're beating them down they let them go finding nothing how they might punish them because of the people for all the men glorified god for that which was done look at verse 29 and between 21 and 29 peter and john leave they go down and they get in a prayer meeting and now the prayer meeting is in session and in verse 29 they're in the prayer meeting you know that's the best place to take your threatenings to if you feel like you're being torn down the best place to take your spirit is a prayer room they had directly eight verses puts them in a prayer meeting and here's what they say and now lord behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness we may speak thy word by stretching forth thine hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child jesus and when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled with the holy ghost they had already been filled but they're filled again they were all filled with the holy ghost and they spake the word of god with boldness they had a little beating a little threatening a little arrest should have been given the key to the city and they were giving the boot to the city should have been thanked they should have said man here this man's been laying at the gate called beautiful for years and here peter and john come by and he's healed they oughta celebrated them and instead they didn't want them to preach the name of jesus and they threatened them now peter and john take their threatenings into a prayer meeting and there in that prayer meeting they knew what the threats were intended to do to beat them down but in the prayer meeting they said oh god give us boldness and when god answered their prayer they were all filled with the holy ghost and spoke the word of god with boldness you know what we need today we need to turn the tables on life and show life that it's not god's will for life to affect the church but it's god's will for the church to affect life it's not god's will for circumstances to affect the way you act it's god's will for you to to turn the tables and cause people around you to act differently first corinthians 14 and 2 talking about this building yourself up spirit praying in tongues praying in tongues first corinthians chapter 14 verse number two listen to paul for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto god for no man understandeth him howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries verse number four he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that prophesieth edify at the church i guess i i'd like to offer some advice to some people that have a poor self-image of themselves pray in the holy ghost a pair of shoes a suit a certain look a certain tan a certain car a certain set of friends is not going to give you the self-image that praying in the holy ghost can that's right we think we got to have the things of the world to make us important we think we got to have what what what disney tells us a girl ought to look like or or hollywood ought to tell us what a boy ought to look like and how a family ought to look like it we're waiting till we get those uh statuses to feel good about ourselves you'll never feel good about yourself a lot of them people are committing suicide and they're on drugs but oh give me somebody that don't have two pennies to rub together and let them start praying in the holy ghost give me a young man that hasn't even seen who his biological father is he doesn't even know where he's gonna sleep next month but give me that young man in a prayer room building up his whole self on his own and in the holy ghost i'll show you a young man that god can make something out preaching to you tonight church i'm telling you we don't need the things of the world we've got all we need in the holy ghost let's just let the holy ghost pray through us let's let the holy ghost roar through us he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that prophesied edified the church you see there's another purpose for tongues that's the unity of the church folks everybody look up here tonight the thing the devil's going to fight first is our unity he's a master of distraction and diversion he gets to working over here when he's really working over here all right you know what he wants he wants our unity but you know one way the bible tells us well let's just see something everybody say unity please understand that what the devil wants is our unity what god wants is our unity he's proven too many times what was going on on the day of pentecost that caused him to come like a mighty rushing wind they were in they were in one accord he's one accord and he came look at what david said in the old testament psalms 133 psalms 133 and verse number one psalms chapter 133 and verse number one can we read it together as a congregation i think we're talking about unity to be good if we all read it together right i'll start it i'll start it behold president how good let me read it for you all right behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity you say well we're all here tonight it doesn't mean we have unity we all go to the same church we all baptize in jesus name we all got that initial infilling matter of fact just for a moment i'm not i'm not only about to get think i'm going to dismiss you everyone that has the baptism of the holy ghost initial evidence of speaking with other tongues would you stand right now all right you may be seated and i know you might thought we could get out here early no i promise you so we got we got that in common don't we we all spoke in tongues right but can i tell you you can be together but not unity and i've heard the old-time preachers say it this way you can take two cats time tail to tail hang them over a clothesline you've got togetherness but you don't have unity we can be in this room and not have unity ephesians 4 and 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace can i tell you it's work to keep unity endeavoring means work it's going to take work to keep unity endeavoring work keep guard that means to guard endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace the enemy is after our unity we've got to work at keeping unity we are a people that love god first apostolic church of maryville soon to celebrate 40 years we are a people that love god we are a people that love the apostolic message we are a people that love the house of god we are a people that love one another we are a people that love our christian school we are a people that love the ministries of this church and i know this is going to come across as egotistical but we are a people that love our man of god we love our man of god we want to hear our man of god we want our man of god to tell us how to live we want our man of god to bless us when we've done good and we want our man of god to blister us when we've not done good we don't want our man of god to sugarcoat we don't want our man of god to compromise we don't want our man of god to back up we want our man of god to preach preach preach preach preach that's what this church has been made of we love this place we love the house of god we love all that this now you may be seated first corinthians i didn't talk about all the school and that to get up to the part to talk about the man of god i understand how that can be that can be received i i totally i i totally understand it can be received as man that's egotistical i don't know how that guy can get up there and say say things like that i could just get to be like i could just be like it's not personal i could just be like the guy that told me he said oh i never teach on tithing said i bring somebody else to do he want me to come in he said i'd bring somebody else to come in and do that he said so if they're going to get mad at somebody they get mad at you and i'm thinking that's a sorry reason because there's a blessing to tithing i would rather be the pastor that teaches things that blesses you so that when you do them and you're blessed you say man we got a great pastor man he's he taught me the word of god you don't go wrong when you let a man of god lead you in the word of god you don't go wrong when you have a man of god that you look at and say that man's telling me how to live for god that man's got a connection with god that man that man is going to study the word that man's going to have his hand on the pulse of the church that man is going to have his eye he's a watchman on a wall he's looking out toward the horizon he's not going to wait till the enemy gets at my kitchen door he's going to start telling me when the enemy is way off and the disc hey i see some danger coming down the road church i see some danger coming down the road first corinthians 12 and 25 simply says this that there should be no schism in the body that schism means division it means it means it means it means means it means a a division we don't we don't need anything we don't need anything or anyone it's going to get real quiet i hate to end this way but we don't need anyone or any we don't need anyone or anything to divide us any person that tries to divide you is not of god it was in the bible men and women who could not accept who they were in the body of christ wanted to be other members of the body of christ but god hadn't made them a foot god hadn't made them a hand but they couldn't be content that god hadn't made them an eye or they had they had to go and they had to be something that god hey just be what god's made you just but they couldn't be who god so they caused a schism in the body it caused a system a division they found a little something that they could they could start going around the church they could start going around the church and hey do you know that right over here and uh now now right over here in the bible right let me show you my old brother carpenter now old brother carpenter pastor he's good man he's a good man he's good man but but he believes we're going before the tribulation he he if he could get as deep in the word as i am he would see that we're going to go through the tribute he would go through the tribulation now whether that man's right or not he's wrong he's wrong in the fact that he has come in among a body of people that have submitted himself to a pastor right if he believes that we're going to go through the tribulation and you better start saving pinto beans and shotgun shells and all that go somewhere win you some souls get you a church and teach that but you're wrong to come slipping around this church we're going all the way through whether we are not i'm going to i'm going to teach something you have pre-trib you have mid-trip you have post trip and some of you don't know what that means pre-trib means we're going before the tribulation mid-trip means we're going midway through the tribulation post-trib means we're going after the tribulation i like to say we're pan it's all going to pan out it's all just going to pan out do you even know lord i'll let you in on a little something i'll let you on with something and if you believe this you see if you believe this you can believe this but i don't believe it but there's some folks that are dogmatic it's got to be wine for communion it's got to be wine it's got to be wine and they've got all these facts of why grape juice ferments on the third day and jesus rose it's got to be wine and they've been so dogmatic about it that they make a doctrine about it and they when the fellowship meeting is over brother johnson's church they don't take their church over there brother johnson's why don't you go fellowship with johnson because he don't believe in taking wine for communion the very thing communion symbolizes is unity so here's how i do it here's how i do it at general conference when we have communion i have a table over here and i tell them it's got wine over there on that table because there's folks that don't believe they believe it's grape juice and they don't want to take they don't want to take wine so i got a table over here for grape juice and i got a table here for those they're going to do wine and then i tell them let's keep the unity let's keep the unity up we see it be wrong if somebody's here tonight somebody's here tonight they'd be going around well you know pastor's wrong pastor's wrong because he does this you're calling you're causing a sism in the body over something that who knows who's right if i'd be willing to admit that who knows who's right i i i believe all my heart i believe is the way i see scripture i the way i see scripture understand scripture we're going to go just before the tribulation begins that's just how i see it and how i read it and i could spend another hour at which you don't want me to i could spend another hour telling you why i believe that all right but if he doesn't come if we if if there is a system comes out let's just be ready to live for god listen just be ready to serve god i think we miss the mark when we try to set a date on when the i think the lord kind of warns about setting that why don't we just get in one mind and say let's just stay ready let's just stay ready for the coming of the lord let's let's just stay ready for him go ahead and stand with me right now anybody comes well i'm gonna say something real pastoral tonight let's just raise our hands and worship god just for a minute would you please i i just want you to cry out to the lord with all your heart right now just come on now listen to me tonight for a moment let's keep the unity around here let's keep the unity we're apostolic can i tell you if i was so mindful i could have every friday night filled with taking our choir to some denominal church in the greater knoxville area and let's all get together let's all just get together and lift up jesus let me interpret that for you let's all get together and not say anything controversial yeah i'm not interested in that i'm not i'm not interested i'm not interested in wasting our time all right because how can two walk together except they'd be agreed you know for a long time we've heard about charismatics you know and we've got to protect the church against charismatics but there's something i fear more than a charismatic spirit and it is a word schismatic i saw it i systematic yes matt listen listen systematic systematic are y'all hearing that and according to webster's dictionary is one who takes part in division i fear the schismatic more than the charismatic while we well while while we have been letting the devil keep us tantalized with or we don't become charismatic the enemy slips in all around with skismatics schismatic stops the unity of the church togetherness of the church there's power there's power i'm not trying to be a lord over god's heritage i want to be a shepherd that protects the flock i don't want y'all to be let off somewhere so we're the kirk and i i went and visited this little church they don't have the truth and i i felt the lord there i felt the spirit no you failed a spirit you felt a spirit now they may have felt the spirit but you could feel a spirit that leads you to believe this is right but how can something be right if it's doctrinally wrong and i don't want you to get tied up i don't want our little girls get off somewhere where they don't preach truth some boy look if some boy look at her wants some nice looking pentecostal girl and the next thing you know they're married and he promised he'd bring her to her church but now he goes back on his word and says no i just don't like how they do down that first apostolic can i tell you i'm not really concerned about charismatic as i am schismatics let's keep the unity of this faith in this church we don't have to compromise to grow you hear me we don't have to compromise to grow this church and it amazes me some of these people that don't have truth can't feel their buildings they can't feel their buildings because men don't want to come to something that's not right but if you preach right the hungry are going to come i'm going to end on this we don't have to compromise to win our lost loved ones we don't have to compromise to fill this building for 40 years we've been an apostolic church and bless the name of jesus
