Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The brazen altar and its horns
- The series on prayer reaches the brazen altar: acacia wood overlaid with brass, five cubits square and three cubits high, built to the pattern God gave Moses.
- The horns were made of one piece with the altar; an altar whose horns can be taken off has lost its power.
- Without the shedding of blood there is no remission; the priest killed the bullock beside the altar and sprinkled its blood round about.
- The wood speaks of the humanity of Jesus and the brass of the judgment He endured; the altar and its blood point to Him.
Scriptures: Exodus 27:1-7; Hebrews 9:22; Leviticus 1:5
The blood that cleanses, and the repentance it demands
- Walking in the light, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin; the one who says he has no sin deceives himself.
- If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive; but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
- God calls His house to repent and turn from all transgressions, so that iniquity will not be their ruin.
Scriptures: 1 John 1:7-9; Luke 13:3; Ezekiel 18:30
The fire shall ever be burning
- The priest burns wood on the altar every morning and lays the burnt offering in order upon it; the fire shall ever be burning and shall not go out.
- When the offering lay in order, fire came out from before the Lord and consumed it, and all the people shouted and fell on their faces.
- A sacrifice only partly surrendered is never fully consumed; the ashes are carried out each morning and fresh wood laid on.
Scriptures: Leviticus 6:12-13; Leviticus 9:24
The flesh profits nothing
- In the flesh dwells no good thing; the rich young ruler could call Jesus good and admire His works, yet would not pay the price of surrender.
- Love not the world, neither the things in the world: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are not of the Father.
- What is refused at the altar in this life will be answered for; habits and hobbies are not preached away but surrendered.
Scriptures: Romans 7:18; 1 John 2:15-16; Mark 10:17-18
Works of the flesh, fruit of the Spirit
- The works of the flesh are manifest — adultery, idolatry, hatred, drunkenness and such like — and they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.
- They that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts; the closing appeal is to lay the flesh on the altar and let God's fire consume it.
Scriptures: Galatians 5:19-24

have your Bibles in return with me this evening We are continuing We are continuing our study on prayer we're continuing our study on prayer and this has been entitled The Throne Room of God the throne room of God I started it last week and the throne room of God on prayer Exodus chapter 27 begin reading it verse number one God told Moses and thou shalt make an altar of shidom wood five cubits long and five cubits Broad the altar shall be four square and the height thereof shall be three cubits and thou shalt make the horns of it upon the Four Corners thereof his horns shall be of the same and thou shall overlay it with brass and thou shalt make his hands just let me make note of this let me make note of this would you notice how many times the altar is called a his is because it's a type of Jesus Christ it says in verse 3 and thou shalt make his pants to receive his ashes his shovels and his basins and his fleshooks and his fire pans all the vessels thereof thou shall make a brass Thou shalt make for it a great of network of brass on the net shalt out make four Brazen rings of the Four Corners thereof and thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath that the net may be even to the midst of the altar Thou shalt make staves for the altar staves of shied of wood overlaid them with brass and the staves shall be put into the Rings and The Stave shall be upon the two sides of the altar to Bear it to Bear it the throne room of God prayer father tonight thank you Lord for the great number of people God that have come out this evening to hear your word Lord I Thank you for the tremendous amount of Youth that have went to the youth room for our youth pastor to minister the word to them and Lord I Thank you for the men and women God that are left in this room to hear your word tonight Lord anoint your servant Lord help me to feed your sheep and oh God I'll give you the praise and the honor and the glory if you'll anoint your servant one more time in Jesus name we pray amen and amen and you may be seated tonight let me begin our Bible Lesson brother Mayo with a statement about prayer about prayer too many times we have closed prayer into a box that we only are concerned about when we have a prayer that needs to be answered when we have something that we can't do we have a disaster to hit our life let's say cancer let's we could say it could be family issues we have a disaster it's our business whatever it would be cancer whatever whatever it would be it's just a disaster and it's then that we get concerned about prayer and it's then we begin to ask somebody to pray and we begin to pray ourselves we begin to ask God ourselves now no doubt prayer is definitely definitely for the times in our lives for the times in our lives when disaster hits the Bible said this poor man cried to the Lord and the Lord heard him and the Lord delivered him out of all of his afflictions so I dare not want to be misunderstood tonight that I don't believe that when disaster hits that you shouldn't cry out to the Lord and you shouldn't turn to prayer but yet I do not believe the Bible teaches at all that prayer is just for one life falls apart prayer has been intended to develop a relationship in the one that is praying to become more like the one they are praying to prayer is designed that the one doing the praying becomes more like the one that is being prayed to now if I was trying to find an example of this in the Bible I could find it easily from Jesus praying on the Mount of transfiguration you know the story Jesus went to prayer and as he prayed as his prayer as he prayed his garments and his skin begin to Glow as white as the lightning he began His Garment his skin he began to Glow as light like as white excuse me as the lightning it's called the Mount of transfiguration and they were the the Peter James and John were so taken back that they asked they asked Lord is it good for us to even be here is it is it a good thing for us to even be here and then they got so carried away with what they saw never had a miracle did they ever request to build a tabernacle they never they didn't say Lord you turned the water into wine let's build a monument here but when Jesus was transfigured on Mount Transfiguration his skin began to shine and his clothes began to glisten they said Lord let us build here a monument a temple one for you and one for Elijah and one for Moses let's let's build here in the Lord no no well Jesus being the man became like what he was praying to because the Bible says God is light in him is light and there is no Darkness at all so the pattern is we become like the one that we are praying to and prayer is not just for those times of desperation but prayer should be a daily thing of Our Lives because we desire to become more like Jesus we desire to become more like him you see this evening if they would put that picture of the Brazen altar on the screen the Brazen altar was the first piece of furniture that the priest would see as he entered into the Tabernacle the Brazen Altar and I say Brazen Altar and the reason I say it it was made of shot him wood one of the most indestructible Woods that there is wood that there is but it was not only made of sheidam wood but then it was overlaid with brass it was overlaid with brass this wood represented the humanity of Jesus Christ that Jesus Christ would be flesh but the brass represented the Judgment of God that God that no there's no way that man can be restored back into God's presence without judgment there has to be a judgment in order for man to come into the presence of God now at this Brazen altar this Brazen altar was a place of death was a place of death that's interesting isn't it if you're looking for life you have to first come to a piece of furniture that represents death if you want life if you want life God said if you want life you've got to come first and you've got to come to a piece of furniture that's going to be known for one thing death death is what happens on the Brazen altar Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 22 Paul sums it up in Hebrews 9 22 Paul sums it up and he simply says and almost all things are by the law purged purged with blood Purge that means to to to to to send it away to purge it away purged with blood and without the shedding of blood is no remission so we find as we as we go into the presence of God that the first thing we've got to encounter is death death of this sacrifice well let's travel on the Brazen altar was not only a place of death but the death was a sacrifice the death was a sacrifice something of value that you were willing to put to death in order to reach life something a sacrifice if what you give God is Not of value then it's not a sacrifice if it's not a value if it's not of value to you then it's no sacrifice at all that's why God loves your attendance at the house of God because your attendance here tonight take some time that we all value we we all value time once it's spent you can't get a refund on it right once you spend time there's no refund you can't go back and say I don't like the way my day went I spent my day doing the wrong I want to refund you that's no once you spend time it is spent it's valuable time is valuable to all of us that's why probably everybody in this room tonight have one of those things on their arm all right why is it because time is time is very valuable to us that's why tonight us bringing time to this house God says I accept that as a sacrifice the Brazen altar was a place of sacrifice it was a place that something of value something with value was placed upon the altar remember what God told them God said don't you go bringing me your blind animals don't you come bringing me those scurvy sickly mange-eating mange eating up animals don't you come bring me the most sickly little old Sheep No when you come to worship me I want you to bring me the best that you've got I I want you to bring me I want you to bring me the best now can I tell you that I'm not against any hobby as long as it's legal and moral I don't understand all Hobbies but that's personal I can't preach that tonight I don't understand why men want to get out and hit a little ball and 18 holes and and and none of them say I've been golfing with something none of them happy you know I mean well anyway see I done went to Midland didn't I I don't I don't know why anybody would want to go spray dear step on them and get up at four o'clock in the morning and hang out of a tree and freeze to death and then shoot something and then have to eat it and convince yourself it tastes like chicken I don't I don't understand hey that's mostly the women are clapping right now I'm telling you it's very few men clapping around and I better I better go on but you know what you know what whether you're a golfer you fish or your what whatever or you're a shopper well whatever whatever you just better give God better emotions than you give to all the rest come on am I connecting tonight I mean if golf is going to move you so emotionally that you're going to take that putter or driver see they don't even call the things the same thoughts a putter a driver a chipper oh and I was I was Nolan and and I heard somebody that had emotions that I watched the man hit a ball and he said he said sliced it and it's down pretty good at me you slice watermelons you slice things so no no got up there and boom me at that ball I said you sliced It Bubba you sliced it he said no I didn't dance and that thing went he said by the way Dad holds your voice down all right but come on whether you're a golfer a hunter a fisherman or a shopper show some emotions show more emotions about your God give him the best give him the very best when you come to God's house hey if you're willing to set four hours on a concrete slab and walk two miles to a football stadium be willing to come and sit on a comfortable Pew for an hour and a half and so and give God praise and give God give God glory and you do that and you do that and you do that and you do that the place of death the altar was a place of death the altar was a place of sacrifice it was a place that you brought something valuable you brought something valuable and you you you laid it it was a it was a it was a place of sacrifice look at Leviticus chapter 1 verse number five the altar was a place of death without the shedding of blood there is no remission the altar was a place of sacrifice Leviticus one and five and he shall kill the bullet before the Lord and the priest Aaron's son shall bring the blood sprinkle the blood round about the altar that is by the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation it was a place it was a place it was a place of sacrifice the Brazen altar was the first essential the First Essential can you say essential it was the first essential place and and I had a cute little thing happen the other night I was preaching at a church and you know from time to time you all know Pastor I'll I'll because I'm going to emphasize the word sister sharp I'll say can you say essential and you all said right I was preaching the other night and I said I believe the word was continue or something I said can you say continue and a little boy on the front row spoke out loud and clear and he said yes foreign can you say essential raising the Brazen altar was the first essential step to God or a new life do you know that every time you go into the presence of God everything about God is fresh and new every morning it's fresh and new look with me in first John first John not the Gospel of John but the Epistle of John first John chapter one in verse number seven through nine listen to him talk to the church he says but if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have Fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us e t h cleanseth us that word there means it's a continual process it's a continual process repentance initially we initially repent and turn our lives around but if repentance is still Tethered to the Cross repentance will birth a desire for more of God repentance if it's Tethered to the cross will continually birth a desire we'll always have a desire so if you've lost your desire repent if you've lost your desire to live for God go back and change your mind if you've lost your desire to live for God just go back that's what repentance is it's a change it's a change of mind it's a it's a 180 it's a it's a it's a change in your mind and I promise you whether you've been in church two years 20 years 40 years 80 years if you will go back and think about all that God has done for you if you will go back there will be memories of Miracles that will come back to your mind and you will begin to see the goodness of God and your mind will turn again and you will begin to see that desire I want to clap my hands again I want to go up around the Altar and pray again I want to try to be a soul winner again I'm going to go back and get in the choir again can somebody see what it would take for me to teach Sunday school again there's something about a birthing of Desire when we're connected to repentance he said if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have Fellowship one with another and the blood of his dear son cleanseth us from all sin if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us can I tell you if we dare think that we have arrived and we're perfect that includes the pastor that stands here that includes everybody living in this room tonight and our blessed online congregation included if you have if you dare think you've arrived and you're just waiting wrapped up showroom ready for the trumpet to sound you done went and got deceived you've already got you've already got deceived we're not here tonight because some sinner may come in and they will need holy Kinney here to help them find God that's not why I'm here tonight I am here tonight because I am still in the process of him knocking off the rough edges of my life I am still in the process I've got a long way to go but I'm going to tell you where I want to be to be like Jesus to be like Jesus on Earth I long to be I long to be like him if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us if we confess our sins who's he talking to the church if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness look at Luke Chapter 13 and verse number 3 the Brazen altar was the first essential step to God or to a new life and you can't have that new life without first getting out of the way something of which God came and died for and that is sin it is sin that stands in the way between me and God anytime I regard sin in my life I'm allowing it to come between me and my God but prayer is designed not so when I get cancer somebody can pray or my life is falling apart oh God please touch but my life if my prayer life is designed so that I can come into His presence and he would begin to tell me he'll begin to show me my faults he'll begin to show me my weaknesses and and sometimes I'm going to tell him what they are he already knows them already but I want prayer that hot fire that destruction of prayer I don't want to live with my sin I don't want to babysit my sin I don't want to make excuses for my sin I want to get my life on that Altar and I want God to consume me completely so that I can be more like him how important is repentance this essential step Jesus said in Luke 13 3. I tell you nay but except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish you talk about something essential he said unless you repent you shall all likewise perish let's hear God in Ezekiel chapter 18 and verse number 30. let's listen to God speak to Israel he says therefore I will judge you o House of Israel everyone according to his ways saith the Lord God repent and turn yourselves from all your transgressions so iniquity shall not be what look at this closely shall not be shall not be your what can you say no say yes can you say what's an equity going to be and Equity is going to do what to us it's going to it's gonna run us you know don't take a lot of iniquity to run a person I uh motherly I had bought a brand new chocolate colored suit and oh I was so happy with it is a brand new chocolate colored suit and I had attended a funeral and at the funeral we went over to the people's house uh after the funeral service and I tell you who it was it was uh it was the waters it was Kelsey's grandmother that it passed and when I I had to go in between some cars and when I did I caught the sharp bumper with the side of my pants leg and it ripped about a three inch hole in them pants now me I took him down and had somebody sew them up and and it just had little probably about two inches away and three inches away but it was sewed up like that and I thought if I stand just right it won't that won't show but how many of you know that that ruined that suit right it it that just that little did you all know that just a little bit of iniquity will ruin everything about us this cancer will kill you just a little bit how much sin will keep just just it'll ruin you that's why he says I I want you to have a prayer life I want you to have a prayer Life Church that every day you come into my presence there's a light there and you're walking in that light and as you walk in that light you begin to confess your sins and as you begin to confess your sins I will allow the blood of I will allow the blood of Jesus Christ to go through the cleansing process it will be it will be ever it will be ever cleansing you the Brazen altar was made of wood and overlaid with brass let's read a little bit about the altar Leviticus chapter 6 and verse number 12. Leviticus 6 and 12. and the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it it shall not be put out and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning and lay the burnt offering in order upon it and he shall burn thereof thereon the fat of the peace offerings look at verse 13 very closely the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar it shall never go out it shall never go out it he said it shall ever be burning it shall never go out now go to chapter 9 and don't get confused just because chapter 9 is after chapter six it's not necessarily in this order Moses was told to build the Tabernacle to build it exactly like God showed him in the mount and Moses did he put the he put the the wood on the altar at the burnt offering he put the water in the labor he put everything in its place he put everything in its place and when they dedicated it Leviticus chapter 9 verse number 24 took place Leviticus 9 and 24. and there came a fire out from before the Lord the fire came from the holiest of holies fire came from off of the Ark of the Covenant there came a fire out from before the Lord and consume the altar upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat and when all the people saw it they shouted and fell on their faces the reason the fire on the altar was so important to them is because that was the fire that God started God said I'm going to start this fire in your life and when I start this fire in your life it's going to be your responsibility to keep it burning it's going to be your responsibility to keep it burning it shall never go out do you know that God will keep the fire on the altar if we will keep the wood and the sacrifice on the altar I'm sorry God doesn't waste his time with empty altars he doesn't waste his time when there's no intentions and there's no desire and there's no love for him he doesn't send any fire but give me fac of Maryville give me a group of people that will come to the house of God on a Wednesday evening some have come an hour before service to teach classes some come at least 30 minutes before service to spend time in prayer and all show you a god that'll say look at the wood and look at the sacrifice I'll keep the fire I'll keep the fire burning church God gave us the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost and it was tongues of fire and he wants us to keep it burning don't let it don't let it go out don't let it go out I read from some commentators tonight about the burnt offering they say this is the law of the burnt offering this offering was previously described in chapter one and spoke of and it spoke of consecration it spoke of consecration you understand that that our church services are designed yes for The Sinner and the prodigal to come running home yes it is but in the midst of the altar is the place for The Sinner and the prodigal to come running home the altar is always the place for the church to come and rededicate and re-consecrate our lives please don't ever become a person that doesn't frequent the altar please don't ever become a member that doesn't know what this altar looks like because keep that fire burning on the on the as long as you're physically able you ought to come up around the altar as long as you're physically able to walk and I guess if you're physically able to go to Walmart you'd be physically able to come to the altar all right so so be fair with God don't put God to a higher standard I don't don't you know because our flesh see our flesh see that's what we got to kill because our flesh will deceive us well I understand I understand right back here I just said you can but your your pastor has said God is a god of consecration is he not worth it is God not worth me coming up oh I know I I know listen listen our flesh loves to hear these words you may be seated and they really our flesh really loves to hear these words you are dismissed their flesh we have to get control of our flesh we have to say oh flesh you're going to the altar you're going to be consumed upon the altar the this was a spoke of consecration the animal had to remain upon the altar in a slow burn for a long time which was tended by the priest the priest would attend the altar throughout the night the priest would take turns the priest would take turns they had fleshooks and they would take turns reaching up and getting the animal and turning it over it's come on let's burn on this side let's let's turn it and the the priest would do this because it wasn't a sacrifice until it had been totally consumed wasn't truly a sacrifice until it fell through the great the great that was on it and there was nothing more there was nothing more than ashes it was nothing more than ashes that's when the shovels come in when there was nothing more than that than ashes so Pastor I would like for God to give me a beautiful life do you know what God is looking for he will give you a beautiful life if you will give him some ashes if you will give him some ashes of a totally consumed life oh God will give you a beautiful life as a matter of fact that's not just a good little thought that's Bible for the Bible says he will give us Beauty for ashes the Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness oh I want to get on that altar tonight and totally allow God to consume everything about me that is not like him God consume everything God consume everything about me now you do know that we're not in the Old Testament we're in the New Testament now we're not bringing sheep and goats and bullets now the sacrifice that's to go up on the all to resist and we are to present our bodies as a Living Sacrifice Paul says in Romans chapter 7 and verse number 18. Paul says these words referring to the flesh he says in Romans 7 and 18 for I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing for to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not can't you relate to that I can got good intentions I want to do but what I want to do I don't and what I don't want to do what's the issue here what's the issue here flesh it's flesh that traps my good intentions it's flesh that encases a heart that says I really want to live for God I really want to serve God I don't want to be doing the things that I'm doing so how can I break out of that flesh I thought you'd never asked you gotta crucify it you gotta put it to death you see people that are dead don't talk flesh that is dead doesn't talk we have got to totally crucify our flesh and keep it on the altar but it can't it you can't do it from Wednesday to Sunday to Sunday to Wednesday you can't do it that way if you're going to be an overcoming child of God you've got to have a prayer life build a fire in your home put your problems on the altar on the mornings keep putting them on the mornings and the mornings and the mornings and the mornings you see this flash is where we get in trouble first John 2 and 15. first John 2 and 15. listen to what he says to you he says fac of Maryville love not the world neither the things that are in the world If any man love the world the love of the father is not in him for all that is in the work for all that is in the world here it is the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the father but of the world everything about the world is trying to get your flesh to lust come on buy this you deserve it put it on your credit card refinance you deserve this you need this you'll look good in this this will fit you well this will help you it's all designed it's all designed everything commercials is designed in such a way to get you to think if you buy that car you're going to look like that Slender Man standing beside it if you buy if you buy that that that new refrigerator or whatever you're going to look like that Slender Woman standing beside it you're going to look like it it's all designed for that the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh the pride of life oh if we can just give what our flesh desires can I tell you we need to crucify our flesh there's not a car that's going to make you happy there's not a home that's going to make you happy listen I don't know where the finest home in this county is but if you're unhappy tonight you could get that they could come and hand you the key to that home but I promise you after a while you're going to be unhappy in the best home here in this town because the things of this world will never bring you the joy and the contentment that our God can bring you oh don't you want to be a lover of him tonight I I do I do it's an interesting story here in Mark 10 17 Mark 10 17 goes like this and and when Jesus was going forth into the way there came one running and kneeled to him and asked him good Master good Master what shall I do that I may inherit like eternal life Jesus said unto him follow this now Jesus said unto him why call us thou me good there is none good but one that is God you know why Jesus said that to him is because all that young man was looking at was the Flesh of Jesus Christ he was a good teacher he's a miracle worker I'd like to be like him he's a good this and he's a good dad and when he came and he said good Master what shall I do to inherit eternal life Jesus just said I want to know why you called me good why did you call me good now let me correct you there's none good but one and that is God is it any strange reason that that young man walked away and did not sell everything he had and follow Jesus because he was driven by his flesh that's why when Jesus said sell everything you got come on follow me and the Bible said he went away sorrowful you know why I did he was driven by his flesh can I tell you that God can offer us the treasures of heaven but if we're driven by our flesh we'll be just like that young man and we'll walk away from here because we make decisions based on how it appeases our flesh well with just a few moments left tonight let me take you to Galatians chapter 5. in verse number 19. in case we need to be reminded what the flesh looks like Galatians 5 and 19. now the works of the flesh are manifest you want to know what the flesh looks like you want to know tonight you want to check yourself to see let me see if I got any works of the flesh going on here he says well let me just show you what it looked like The Works of the flesh are manifest which are these adultery fornication uncleanness lasciviousness and all these fall into sexual sins all these fall into sexual sins if you want to know what the works of the flesh look like pornography is a work of the flesh fornication any any unsanctioned sexual act outside of marriage is considered fornication and God didn't lead you to that other man God didn't lead you to that woman and God didn't lead you to get together before marriage and know each other don't don't be don't don't be deceived I uh not hear it not anyone in the congregation but many years ago I had someone want to meet with me want to want me to pray over something with them that the man had left his wife and was with another woman and he was getting unhappy with this other woman and he was preying on whether he should go back to his first wife I see you don't pray about it you don't have to pray about it go back how do you know because it was a work of the flesh that got you in this you see if eating cabbage makes you sick you don't have to pray about stopping come on somebody right oh man I'm out brother you pray for me I'll be cabbage again I'm sick every time I eat cabbage I get sick would you please pray for me I might pray for your brain but I ain't gonna cry yeah because you just got it you know don't nobody think I'm blaspheming there's some things you don't have to pray about well there's something she's like you know I pray about okay we step out of sexual sins idolatry idolatry that's self -centeredness the worship of self It's All About Me you're frequently taking selfies of yourself they don't call it selfie for nothing all right self idolatry witchcraft oh Brooklyn there's nobody around here oh and you think that we got any witches well let me say let me tell you this you know what witchcraft is the Bible says Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft what is we what is what is witchcraft trying to get an answer other that from God some people don't like the answer that God has given them so they want their own answer they rebel against what God has given them and that's the same as witchcraft witchcraft hatred variance emulations wrath stripe seditions heresies envying murderers drunkenness revilings now you say missed it he didn't name me one time don't get too comfortable because it right now I'm going to nail everybody and such light in other words he says I didn't have to name it but if it's kin to anything I just mentioned if it's canned anything I just mentioned and such like of which I tell you before as I've also told you in time past that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God but the fruit of the spirit now notice the two you have the works works of the flesh but if you pray and allow the spirit of God to come into your life every day in a relationship you don't have the works of the spirit you have the fruit of the spirit I don't know about you but that sounds much better than works of the flesh fruits something produced I'm telling you you can't grow fruit overnight and you can't have
