how many are glad to be a citizen of the United States of America how many are glad to be a citizen of the Heavenly Kingdom oh that is not of this world well if you have your Bibles tonight let's go quickly to the word of the Lord I must say that I am beyond amazed tonight and knowing it is Fourth of July weekend I am beyond amazed at the number of regular people that would be here tonight that are out visiting family across the country we have a brother Heath Dodson got married found a young lady all the way out in California and so we got a great number here from our church that are there in California he's at Heath's dodson's wedding and uh so wow let me just say this wow wow but you know it wouldn't matter tonight it wouldn't matter tonight wouldn't matter if there's just a handful here we'd still be worshiping God because that's just how we roll here in Maryville that's just how we roll here in this place we just we just have church we just have church but uh let me let me say happy Fourth of July to everybody I hope on Tuesday I hope you just have a great day I said this morning that all diet plans unless your doctor says differently all diet plans are off eat as much Fried Chicken brother oh my brother and sister and made us two pies today thank you so much thank you so much and uh I I can preach with one of these things and I just take it off and I'll preach I I never forget one time I I held a Revival early in my early in my Evangelistic days I held Revival for a man and he rented uh the sellers he rented half of a dairy barn of a dairy barn he rented half of it on one side of the wall he had Chairs set up and we had preaching on the other side of that wall and you could smell there were cows somebody asked me how the Revival was going I said we're having a moving Revival but you know right there in that Dairy Barn people got the Holy Ghost people got baptized we had a great move of God we had a move Jeremiah 29 verse 4. I'm going to read one verse and just allow you to be seated after that then I'm going to continue to read thus saith the Lord of hosts the god of Israel unto all that are carried away captives whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon let's pray father thank you tonight for your wonderful spirit I thank you God for the spirit of the people that come to church with the mind to worship I thank you Lord for these people God that come with worship praise prayer and receiving the word on their mind Lord tonight if there's anyone here that does not have the Holy Ghost I pray that they'll be filled tonight if there's any here and they they have not yet been baptized in your name I pray that you would deal with them to go to the water tonight to be baptized I give you praise and ask you to anoint me in Jesus name we pray amen you may be seated let's continue to read build your houses and dwell in them plant Gardens and eat the fruit of them take you wives and beget sons and daughters take wives for your sons give your daughters to husbands that they may bear sons and daughters that you may be increased there and not diminished the peace of the city whether I have caused you to be carried away captives and pray unto the Lord for it for in the peace thereof you shall have peace for thus saith the Lord of hosts the god of Israel let not your Prophets and your diviners that be in the midst of you deceive you neither hearken to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed for they prophesy falsely unto you in my name I have not sent them saith the Lord for thus saith the Lord that after 70 years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you perform my good word towards you in causing you to return to this place for I know the thoughts that I think toward you saith the Lord thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected unexpected end one translation the ESV says it this way for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans for welfare and not for evil to give you a future and a hope let me go back to verse 12. then shall you call upon me and you shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart for a few moments tonight I want to minister the gospel to you on this simple subject and I'm really battling two titles but this one won out unauthorized voices unauthorized voices we might say well what was your second title Pastor the second title will simply get on with life get on with life you see Israel had neglected their walk with God they had neglected keeping the Sabbath days they had wandered far from God for several Generations until the corrective measures that God would choose for Israel and let me tell you something God never corrects us to hurt us he always does it for our well-being he knew that it would take more than one generation so God in his master plan that Israel would be taken captive the children of Israel would be taken captive they would be taken from their beautiful city from their beautiful City Jerusalem they would be taken captive from that beautiful city and they would be led down LED down to a city called Babylon look at the parallel between the two cities Jerusalem is the combination of two words girou which means City Salem which means peace so Jerusalem was truly the city of Peace the city of Peace some have said Peace by definition is the absence or peace is the absence of War but really by definition peace is the presence of God when you have peace you have the presence of God they were taken down to they were taken down to Babylonian captivity and the Prophet Jeremiah had emphatically told them that 70 years 70 years they were going to be in this city and God simply told them that they were to build houses verse five they were to build houses they would dwell in them they were to plant Gardens and eat the fruit of them they were to take wives and begat Sons and Daughters they would take their sons and find wives and they were to take their their daughters and find husbands and they were to increase there they were the reading there they were to have grandchildren they were to they were to raise their families there they were to understand that they were simply to raise their families in other words that's where the second title come in God just simply said this is the way it's going to be get on with your life this is the way that it's going to be but can I tell you even in God's punishment I find that he still takes care of his people he says you're going to build houses he said you're going to plant Vineyards you're gonna you're gonna have fields and you're going to have Vineyards and then he said you're going to marry and I say to God yes God yes God he said you're going to have children I said praise God to that and then I may don't nobody get up and go to the restroom because I might go running around this building he said you're even going to have grandchildren I said yeah come on now you know how that is I'm telling you if you don't have grandchildren tonight you've no you don't even know what living is all about you you yeah that's right sister Smith don't even know what you don't even want living I'm gonna tell you something you take them little grand babies and you take them little grandbabies and you can have the weight of the world on your shoulders but you let them little Haven children come through the door you you let you let them come through the door friend brother or am I telling the truth tonight you can let them you can let them come through the door and I'm going to tell you just let the world pass me by I just get one of them children and get up in the chair with me we were we were we watched our our Hampton this week we watched our Hampton uh the Zach and Lauren were busy with camp and we we watched him and bless his heart he got he got sick got him a little old virus and we we kind of cooped up in the hotel room with him for a couple of nights and and I finally they don't think he got on he did get on my nerves I'm gonna be straight I'm gonna be transparent he got on my nerves brother Purdue he did because every time I get him ready to get in his pajamas and I was getting my pajamas he always wanted to ask one question why is your belly so big he said what's that hole in your stomach Papa I said that's my navel shut up boy and get in bed I just go ahead and go to go can I tell you that even when God punishes his children it's still a punishment there's a little Joy left in there he says you're going down there for 70 years he said just find you a garden to plant and just find you a house to build and finds you a wife to marry and find you some kids to be born and find you some grandchildren because you're going to live there because in the midst of the Captivity in the midst of being from Jerusalem the city of peace to Babylon the city of confusion God said I still got a plan for you and I don't want you to diminish it's my will for you to go to Babylon but in Babylon I don't want you to become fewer in number in Babylon I want you to increase in your number so when I bring you out I bring you out I bring you out that you have that you have been increased but it's not only said that he said I don't only want you planting Vineyards and building houses and marrying wives having children and having grandchildren he said but I want you to have a social life he said I want you to get out among Babylon I want you to have social life in Babylon I want you to pray for Babylon this is what he said I want you to pray for Babylon I want you to pray for the city of your captivity I want you to pray for this city pray for this city to have peace and he said The more you pray for Babylon to have peace the more Babylon has peace the more you have peace and you know every Apostolic Church in America excuse me every Apostolic Church in the world ought to pray for their City we ought to have a burden for our city these words ought to come from our prayer lips God touch Maryville God touch Alcoa God touch green back God touch Louisville God touch see more God touched Townsend we ought to be praying for our County praying for souls to be born again praying for a Revival we've got this city we're going to stand brothers and sisters for what we've done to reach this city God give us Maryville God give us Alcoa God give us principle God give us Louisville God give us Seymour God give us Greenback come on somebody because the more our community prospers the more we prosper I know some may not see it this way if some may not see it this way at all some may Market this statement scoff at this statement but I'm always a firm believer that you got a right to be wrong but I believe with all my heart that Prosperity has come to Blount County I believe Prosperity has come to this County I believe that we're getting more industry than ever before Smith and Wesson all these different places that have moved in here and set up industry and I just believe it with all my heart he has blessed us with industry so that we can have those jobs so that we can have those jobs and so that we can earn an income to feed shelter and clothe our family but it doesn't stop there God's not going to bless us with finances so I have more trinkets in my garage and I thank God for all the good things God has given and don't you ever be ashamed that God has blessed you with something don't you ever hang your head he's a good God if you've got a good car you ought to say praise the Lord if you've got a nice house you ought to say praise the Lord you ought to drive up tonight and before you hit your garage door opener you ought to set in the driveway for a moment and say God I thank you for this house I thank you God for come on church I thank you for the good things that you've given me but I thank God tonight for the industry that's moved into Blount County because we got a world we gotta reach we got a world that we gotta reach with the gospel and it's going to come It's Gonna Come I thank God for the Peace of our city tonight he said pray for the Peace of the city but then he comes to verse 8. and he says thus saith the Lord because there was something happening false prophets false prophets had risen up in the midst of Babylon in the midst of their 70-year stint or stayed false prophets were rising up and false prophets were saying just any day you're going back to Jerusalem just any day you're going to go back to your city thus saith the Lord just any day you're going back and they begin to give false prophecies of going back and you know what false prophecies get give listen to me now you know what false prophecies give false hope that's why you better be Mighty careful when you say thus saith the Lord to somebody because guess what false prophecies give false hope guess what false hope produces delusioned Saints and guess what delusions Saints breed bachelin because they walk away saying God said and it never come to pass and so they were preaching thus said the Lord just any time anytime we're going back to Jerusalem just any time you're going to leave this place and guess what happens when you have false hope we lose our faithfulness of activity because if you believe that any day you're going back why build a house if you believe that any day that you're going back why plant a garden if you believe that any day and you get in the most horrible state that there could be in idleness if God has made us a promise and he has stay busy until the promise is fulfilled if God made you a promise of prosperity keep working your minimum wage job until the better one comes along but for God's sake don't quit your good job and wait for something that some preacher come through here and said thus saith the Lord You're Going to Be a Millionaire next year you keep on working at McDonald's you keep on working wherever you're doing and don't listen being inactive is the greatest thing the devil wants you to do stay busy in the house of God build you a house marry you a wife plant you a garden don't listen don't listen to the wrong voices that prophesy and tell you thus saith the Lord the Lord said I have not sent them they are prophesying in my name but I have not I have not sent them there's a brother here tonight I wouldn't call his name because I don't have permission to call his name but he told me years ago that he had a brother that went to one of these big Crusades where the man got up and it was a few hundred miles from here but the man got up and challenged them to give all their money and that God would provide the money for them within the next few hours that man had to call his brother and get enough money to get back here to get back home because the money never came can I tell you tonight as your pastor don't believe everything just because it says thus saith the Lord God said I want you to listen to me God said don't you give unauthorized voices listen you shouldn't just let anybody speak into your life I said you shouldn't let just anybody speak into your life if you're going to make directions about your life about your children you need to have a standard about who you allow to get your ear and to speak into your ear unauthorized voices giving direction has Shipwrecked a lot of families there's been a lot of matchmakers a lot of spiritual Cupids flying around that have said this one ought to get with that one when that one wasn't even in the faith to get with in the first place don't just allow everything to speak into your ear and to tell you thus saith the Lord there needs to be there needs to be the word of the Lord and the direction of the Lord and the principle of God God has nothing wrong with having patience God has nothing wrong with us using Common Sense everything doesn't have to be walking on the water Faith there's some everyday decisions that are made and you just need to put on your thinking cap and say God I believe that you want me to do this and I'm going to tell you something good honest-hearted even Christians good faithful people need to be very careful and when they feel something many years ago many years ago I received a phone call from a precious individual an individual to this day that I hold in high regard and they asked me the question if I would tell you that the Lord wanted you to do something would you would you do it and of which I did respond because I just felt like that was a mighty big theme and I tell you there's only one man that I would allow that statement to be made to and his name is Bishop Billy McCool there's only one man that I would allow to ask me the question if I tell you the Lord has said something where you do it there's only one man that I would go ahead and say yes because he is my authorized voice he's my authorized voice he's my authorized voice of which I said well I would certainly pray about it the individual told me that the Lord had told them I told this individual that I was to go back on the Evangelistic field for the Evangelistic field in in in in their estimation needed my boys I was to resign this church and I was to go out and go back to evangelizing but the more that we talked the more emotive that the individual is not even aware of because the individual already had the replacement that they wanted to bring the replacement here what I want you to know I still hold that individual in high regard but I think even good people's hearts can be deceived at some times you need to allow unauthorized voice to speak into your ear there's a lot of voices that can speak into your ear they know what your flesh wants to hear and they can go ahead and come listen who didn't want to be told you're leaving Babylon who didn't want to be told you're not going to have very more years here anybody would want to leave Babylon confusion and go back to Jerusalem the city of Peace everybody wanted to hear that but it was that Old Faithful Jeremiah that nobody liked to see him coming because he wasn't saying tomorrow we're going to leave here he wasn't building false hope he was building faithfulness he was saying buy a piece of land plant a garden build you a house marry your wife raise your children raise your grandchildren because in 70 years I'm coming back and I want you to be increase thank God for the prophet Jeremiah point one to this message tonight be on the guard for unauthorized voices that speak into your life thumbing over several chapters to the Book of Jeremiah Jeremiah chapter 38 just a few chapters later the scene here is Jerusalem for there has been a remnant of people and even a king that has stayed within the walls of Jerusalem but the Prophet Jeremiah said repeatedly surrender surrender complete surrender complete surrender to the word of God complete surrender to the will of God he prophesied there was a remnant of people there there was a king there there were some princes there with us and people there and also there were false prophets there were false prophets there they were false prophets there and these false prophets were saying don't listen to Jeremiah don't listen to him he doesn't know what he's talking about God's going to deliver this city God is going to deliver this city don't don't listen to him but Jeremiah repeatedly kept preaching you need to surrender and he simply said it this way if you don't surrender Babylon the Chaldeans are coming and they're going to kill you they're going to burn the city with fire they're going to Break Down the Walls but if you will surrender to the will of God and to the word of God God will put Mercy in the eyes of the captors and they will not kill you they will take you down to Babylon and there you will spend there you will spend 70 years let's join Jeremiah Jeremiah 38 and verse 2. thus saith the Lord he that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword by famine and by pestilence but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live for he shall have his life for a prey and shall live thus saith the Lord this city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of babylon's army we shall take it therefore the princes said unto the king we beseech thee let this man be put to death for thus for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city in the hands of all the people in speaking such words unto them for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people but they're hurt look how things are getting twisted today look out things are getting twisted today these false prophets came to the king and they said please put this man to death please put him to death he weakens us he's discouraging us he says he says that we got to surrender he says we got to bow to this thing called the saith the Lord he said would you put him would you put him to death he is not speaking good look at how this is church we are living in a culture that cause good evil and cause evil good this culture said we don't want to hear from Jeremiah we don't want to hear this word we need to put this word to death so the king gave them permission the king gave them permission and they cast Jeremiah into a dungeon wasn't just an ordinary dungeon it was a sewer there was no water but mire as a matter of fact as I studied this why they didn't just kill him straight out it was because even though they were wicked men they had a smidgen of conscience to where they didn't want to kill him but they knew if they if they lowered him down in a with a rope into the sewer that they would cut his arms the sharp ropes would cut his arms open up a wound he descends into the sewer the infection from the sewage would infect his body and he would eventually he would eventually die Jeremiah represents the word of God tonight and I'd like to ask you something have you done a self-checkup on the word of God in your life tonight where is the word of God in your life tonight is the word of God this is the word of God still the first thing you consult with when you get ready to make decisions is the word of God still very much alive or have you fallen pray like they did I don't like hearing the word of God I it seemed like the word of God is always telling me no and it's not that we've forsaken the word of God it's just we've put the word of God in an unhealthy Place we've we've put the word of God down in in a sewage place and it's soon Jeremiah is soon he is soon to die oh I don't want God's word to die in my life would you would you there's a bag under that Pew there there's a bag under that pew and I've tried to preach this the last three or four services and I I've not got to I've not got to my little prop here that I've got but they took they took Jeremiah and with the Rope they just lowered him down into that into that dungeon with that rope cutting his arms cutting his arms and causing cuts on him as he went down in into the sewer there and uh they left him there and the word of God is about to die can I tell you that we need to keep the word of God much alive in our lives hear o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord for in him dwell up the fullness of the godhead bodily and you are complete in him for God was manifested in the flesh scene of angels preached unto the Gentiles believed on in this world and received up into Glory if you have seen me you've seen my father I'll sayest thou then show us the father and it surprised them then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized ever one of you for there is salvation and no other for there's no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must without Holiness no man will see the Lord I'm glad to be Apostolic tonight I said I'm glad to be Apostolic tonight I said I'm glad to be Apostolic tonight what do you mean Apostolic I mean Apostle like I'm glad I preach what the apostles preach well what did they preach they preached repentance they preached repentance from sin they preached water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin I'm asking you how healthy is the word God if this ain't moved your needle tonight I submit to you your word of God is in the dungeon this evening in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God and the word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his now let me tell you something brother Purdue I preach in a lot of churches I preach in a lot of churches they ain't never preached them before I preach in a lot of churches I preach in a lot of churches a handful of people know who I am but the rest of the crew don't they don't know who I am all right and I'll tell you what I do when I go there they don't really realize it but I get up and I say I'm so glad to be here tonight I'm so glad to be an Apostolic preacher by Apostolic I mean Apostle like I preach what the apostles preach and I just went through that little spill that's well rehearsed y'all can understand that's a well rehearsed little spill can't you and I know if they sit there and look at me like a mule looking at a new fence it gonna be rough three nights of preaching he gonna be rough like a dog go rough it's going to be rough three nights of preaching you know why these people don't have a healthy relationship with the word of God I didn't ask you if I'm gonna oh no no weapon formed against me will prosper bless coming in blessed going out when that's all that can move your spiritual needle then I'm telling you you need to go down to the dungeon and you need to get the word of God out of the dungeon you need to stop listening to everybody just telling you what you want to hear you need just somebody to look you smack in the face and tell you you need to repent of your sins you need somebody to look you smack in the face and tell you you need to get down to this altar I don't care how long ago you had the Holy Ghost I don't care how long ago you've been in the church I don't care if you were in the church when I was born we all need God we all need God man I'm telling you uh I'm telling you it it it it it it it it it it it just rough it is thank God I think I think I Pastor a church of a bunch of ebed me legs all right I'm gonna tell you about oh eat bad me like here ebac milac is in chapter 38 of Jeremiah he's in verse 7. Jeremiah which represents the word of God is sinking deeper in the mire in the sewage death is ever taken away at him rats are running around the sides of the wall Jeremiah has no bread and no water he's in the sewage soon to die but watch verse number seven now when he backed me like and I believe I'm pastoring a bunch of them right now now when ebac ebet me like Lee Ethiopian one of the eunuchs which was in the King's house heard that he had put Jeremiah in the dungeon the king then setting in the gate of Benjamin he bet milac went forth out of the King's house and spake unto the king saying and here's what he said he said he's going to die down there King knows what he needs in his life and he says O King the man the word of God is going to die if somebody doesn't do something the word of God is going to die and the old King told he backed me like he said you take with your 30 men and you go down there and you get Jeremiah out of the Mutt and out of the mire I'm glad tonight and I Want To Praise You Maryville church I want to praise you tonight because there are more than 30 men and 30 women in this place that have the ministry of Evac millec they know what we got to keep alive in this church we gotta keep the man of God alive we gotta keep the preaching of the word of God not alive listen I'm not down playing I'm not down playing our coffee shop we can do without Global let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah and he bet me like the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah put now these old cast cloths and rotten Rags under thine arm hoes under the cords and Jeremiah did so you know why as loving as the world appears to be just cross them one time he's Crossing one time they'll put you in a dungeon so quick what are we what are we talking about now Council Council culture cancel culture we're sitting in a meeting the other day planning General Conference somebody brought up I hope this hotel don't find out where we stand on marriage and where we stand all this so they find out they liable cancel us out ah I don't know the almighty dollar speaks Mighty High to them but you know what if they do we go out and find us a field to have General Conference in hey you come I want to I want to come to an end here Hey Brother Jeremiah it brought him up out of the dungeon and the King said I want to privately meet with you and the King said just between you and I just between you and I what does thus saith the Lord what what's the Lord saying just between you and I and Jeremiah said the word of the Lord says you better surrender and you better walk out King Kings at a dive you better walk out that gate and you better throw your hands up to that Captain and when you throw your hands up to that Captain you throw your hands up to him he's going to have mercy on you and your wife and your daughters and your sons and said they gonna take you down to Babylon where you're going to get to build a house you're going to get to raise your sons you're going to get to bounce your grandbabies on your knees although you're in Babylon you're going to live your days out in Babylon that's what the Lord says and the old King did you do you all not see this today the Old King says when you step out through that gate said they submen on the other side that gate they represent the culture and said they're going to ask you what did you and the King talk about and said you just tell them that you were trying to get me to save your life from another prison you tell them that and Jeremiah told him what the king said he walked outside and he said I don't want you to tell I don't want you to tell them the truth why don't you tell them the truth you just tell them something else well let me just you can study this out in the in the 30th 39th chapter but the king didn't surrender the king put up a fight finally the captain of the Babylon Chaldean Army broke through and when they broke through and when they broke through verse 4 of chapter 39. it came
