Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Noah: the good, the bad, and the ugly

  • He opens the lesson by reading the text entire: Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard, and he drank of the wine, and was drunken, and was uncovered within his tent.
  • Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brethren without — in a mocking, scoffing, belittling way — while Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father, and saw it not.
  • When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had done unto him, he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren — the curse is placed on Ham's son Canaan, and Shem and Japheth are blessed.
  • The Bible tells us the good, the bad, and the ugly of the characters in the scripture: Noah was a righteous man who found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and the Bible also exposes him as the first recorded drunken man in the scripture — we would do mighty well to respect the things of God, regardless of what condition we find them in.

Scriptures: Genesis 9:20-27

Nimrod and Babel: ruling our own lives without God

  • He reads on: Cush begat Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one in the earth; he was a mighty hunter before the Lord — and that 'before the Lord' reads as defiance, not humility: he is not serving God, he is creating his own reputation.
  • The beginning of his kingdom was Babel; and the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech, and they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
  • That is directly opposite to what God commanded when they left the ark — go to the east, the west, the north, the south; spread out and repopulate the earth. Genesis 11 is humanity's symbol of ruling their own lives without God, and an act of rebellion against God.
  • God came down and confused their language — that is why it was called Babel, because they sounded like babbling people who could not understand one another — and they separated; and Babylon becomes the root, the foundation, of everything that is anti-God.

Scriptures: Genesis 10:8-10; Genesis 11:1-5

God finds one man: the call of Abram

  • At the very same time Babylon is trying to take root, God has a plan: if he can get one man in a covenant with him, he will take that one man and produce a special race of people, later known as the children of Israel, and bring through the twelve tribes what was called in the garden of Eden the promised seed — none other than Jesus Christ.
  • You do not have to come out of a heritage of Christian families for God to use you: Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, and they served other gods — Abram was not called out of a one God home, but out of a home that worshiped many gods.
  • He reads the call: Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
  • God's calling is only a calling until you respond: by faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed, and he went out, not knowing whither he went — and by faith he sojourned in the land of promise, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise, for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Scriptures: Genesis 11:31; Joshua 24:2; Genesis 12:1-3; Hebrews 11:8; Hebrews 11:9

Flawed people, and the God who keeps his promise

  • He warns the class on the outset: do not leave here tonight believing it is all right to be flawed because Noah did it, or because Abraham did it — this is not a license; we are all damaged goods, flawed people, but flawed people can be used of God, because flawed confession leads you to the strong arms of a God who says, I'll hold you.
  • Abraham's flaw was lying: he lied about his identity and his relationship with Sarah, telling her to say she was his sister because he feared they would cut his throat to take her — and he lied twice, until wicked pagan kings had to come and rebuke him.
  • After these things — after his flaws — the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward; and when Abram pointed to the steward of his house as his heir, God brought him forth abroad and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: so shall thy seed be — and he believed in the Lord, and he counted it to him for righteousness.
  • The next flaw is one every last one of us has: patience. Sarah said, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid Hagar; it may be that I may obtain children by her — and Abram hearkened to the voice of his wife. You will fight your hottest battles when you are halfway there.
  • What you think is the answer will turn around and hate you: Hagar conceived, and her mistress was despised in her eyes, and Sarah said, My wrong be upon thee... the Lord judge between me and thee — but Abram said, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand.
  • Ishmael is the father of the Arab race, and the son of the flesh will always mock the son of the spirit: Sarah saw Ishmael mocking Isaac and demanded Hagar be sent away.

Scriptures: Genesis 15:1-6; Genesis 16:1-3; Genesis 16:5-6

The promise, and God's financial plan

  • God needs an Abraham because all the earth needs to be blessed: he tells of young couples who came into this church as poor as Job's turkey, minimum-wage people, who heard the word of Babylon say you cannot afford to tithe until you get out of debt — and heard instead the word of Malachi: bring you all the tithe into the storehouse.
  • Any financial plan that tells you to hold off paying your tithe until you get out of debt is not God's financial plan.

Scriptures: Malachi 3:10

The struggle

  • He reads the next generation: Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca to wife; and Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived — after twenty years of waiting, in the pattern of the twenty-five years his parents waited.
  • The children struggled together within her, and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? and she went to enquire of the Lord — and God told her two manner of people were in her womb: an Esau of the flesh and a flawed Jacob who loves God, and the elder shall serve the younger; the younger takes over control.
  • Your struggle becomes your testimony unless it becomes your tomb: Joseph told his brothers, you meant it evil, but God meant it for good, to save much people alive — so be quick to forgive every person in your life, and don't cut people out of your life, because you just may cut off your Judah, the very line God is bringing the seed through.

beautiful billboard lesson number four unlocking unlocking the Bible Genesis chapter 9. verse number 20. and Noah began to be a husband and he planted a Vineyard and he drank of the wine and was drunken and was uncovered within his tent and ham the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father and told his two Brethren without and Shem and japheth took a garment laid upon both their shoulders and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father and their faces were backward and they saw not their father's nakedness and Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had done unto him and he said curse be Canaan a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren and he said blessed be the Lord God of Shem and Canaan shall be his servant and God shall enlarge japheth and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem and Canaan shall be his servant father I thank you tonight for Lesson Four as we make our way through your wonderful word tonight father I pray that you would give us a heart of discipleship to want to learn more about your word Lord the more of your word we know father the more of you we know blessed tonight give me the ability to articulate give me the ability to teach tonight in Jesus wonderful name amen amen and you may be seated brother Erickson ended last week with the flood ended last week with the command of Noah and his three sons to go into all the Earth and to repopulate all the Earth be fruitful multiply and repopulate the Earth after after the flood now I want to say something on the outset the onset of this Bible lesson tonight that the Bible tells us The Good The Bad and The Ugly of the characters that are in the scripture now when we begin to read our Bibles and we see these men that maybe we only knew Noah as a righteous man and he was a righteous man we knew Noah as the man that found favor Grace in the eyes of the Lord and that he did but the Bible also exposes Noah that he planted a Vineyard and when he planted the vineyard and grew the grapes and produced the wine that he is the first recorded drunken man in the scripture it tells us that he became intoxicated in his tent and that he removed his clothing and lay naked in his tent and we know that his son ham came into the tent and saw the nakedness of his father and went out and told his two brothers Shem and japheth and we see here that the beginning the seedling of something that affected not only ham but you will notice with me in Scripture that when Noah cursed ham for what he had done he mentioned Ham's son Canaan he didn't necessarily say curse be ham he said curse be Canaan the son of ham and to the best and there's a lot of speculation that has been about this down to some believe and I wouldn't put it completely off the table that that ham went in and physically touched his father's nakedness and then came out and told it in a mockery way to his two brothers who treated their drunken father the direct opposite of what ham did ham went in saw the nakedness of his father and comes out and tells in a mocking way a scoffing mocking belittling disrespectful way fathers in the tent naked but the two sons Shem and japheth had so much respect for their father that they got a blanket and they did not go into the tent with their faces toward their naked father they put the blanket on their shoulder and they backed into the tent and as they backed into the tent they lay the blanket to cover their father's nakedness when Noah awoke from his drunkenness and knew what ham had done he blessed Shem and japheth but he placed a curse upon Canaan the descendant of him could it be that here is they see we would do Mighty well to respect the things of God regardless sometimes in what condition we find them in because there's a Little Seedling here turn over with me to Genesis chapter number 10 and verse number 8. and Kush beget Nimrod now Kush is the son of ham his wife birthed him this son Cush and we know that ham is the one that belittled or saw lightly made little light of the drunkenness and now in verse number eight Kush beget nimrod Nimrod would be the grandson of ham he began to be a mighty one in the Earth he was a mighty Hunter before the Lord and I want you to understand how that reads when he says he was a mighty Hunter before the Lord that before the Lord there is one in defiance he is one in defiance he is not a humble he is not serving God he is creating his own reputation he is a mighty Hunter but he is doing that with the spirit of defiance before the Lord verse 10. and the beginning of his kingdom was babble or Babylon the beginning of his kingdom you see in Genesis 11 and verse number 1 it said and the whole earth was of one language and of one speech he came to pass as they journeyed from the East that they found a plane in the land of cyanar and they dwelt there they said one to another go to let us make brick burn them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and slime had they from order and they said go to let us build us a city in a tower who's taught me reaching to heaven and let us make a name let us make us a name unless we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth and the Lord came down to see the city which the at the see the city and the tower which the children of men built the Lord said behold the people is one we see here just simply for time's sake but it simply tells us there in Genesis 11. that a group of people but we know who they were led by they were led by nimrod they were led by this man that was in direct Defiance before God they they purpose to build a tower and build a city to have a name from themselves what's wrong with that well what's wrong with that that's directly opposite of what God Said should be done when they left the ark Noah and his three sons the Commandment of the Lord was go to the east go to the West go to the north go to the South spread out repopulate the Earth just just go and that was what they were to do but you see this Genesis 11. is Humanity's symbol of ruling their own lives without God that's why we're all here tonight that's why we're all here tonight because we know that the pain and confusion when we try to rule our own lives I don't want to rule my own life I want my own life to be ruled by God's word I don't want to be a mighty hunter in opposition to the Lord I want to obey and so this Tower of Babel became Humanity's symbol of ruling their own lives without God this was also an act of rebellion against God because God had said the opposite he didn't say Bill Towers build cities make yourself a name he said repopulate spread out and do my will and God came down and it doesn't matter how defying a person is all men shall stand before the judge and when God came down God brought confusion to that place because he separated their languages there that's why it was called Babel because they sounded like babbling people that were trying to communicate and because they did not understand one another's speech they separated and they went their own ways thus Babylon becomes the root or the foundation of everything that is anti-god everything that is anti-god but it's so amazing it is so amazing brother Hammond at the very same time at the very same time that Babylon is trying to take root God has a plan because God wants to take one man and get one man in a covenant with him if he can just get one man and he can get that one man he can get that one man in a covenant he can get that one man in a covenant with him he will take that one man and produce a special race of people that would later be known as the children of Israel and he will through the 12 tribes of Jacob bring to this earth what was called in the Garden of Eden the promised seed that would bruise the head of the serpent which is none other than Jesus Christ but he first has to find one man can I tell you let Babylon be built there will always be people that want to be in defiance to God there will always be people we will never live in a world that is absent of people that want to live in Babylon they want to build in Babylon they want their own name and they want it their own way but be you well assured that God is looking for an Abram tonight that is willing to believe him and trust him and let him do something marvelous with their lives let me give you a little background just a little background about this about this Abram Abram come from ER of the chaldees Genesis 11 31. Abram's father and you you put if you would put Joshua 24 and verse 12 verse 2 if you would put Joshua 24 and verse 2 on the screen you see tonight you don't have to come out of a Heritage of Christian families for God to use you you don't need to hang your head tonight if you're here without your mom and dad you don't need to hang your head tonight if you are the first generation to embrace this truth don't hang your head because when God found Abram look where he found him Joshua said unto all the people thus saith the Lord God of Israel's Israel your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time even Terror the father of Abraham the father of nakor and they served other gods Abram wasn't called out of a Christian Home Abram wasn't called out of a one God home Abram was called out of a home that worshiped many gods take comfort tonight take comfort tonight we'll cure what kind of generational things may be in your life if you will answer the call of God tonight God is able to take you Abram God is able to take you Sarah Sarah was Abram's wife they came out of ER of chaldees with lot his nephew in Genesis chapter 12 verse number one God's looking I believe God's looking for some Abrams tonight believe God's looking for some Abrams and I say Abram who are you talking about you talk about Abraham I sure am but God called Abram out his name was not Abraham when he called him out his name was Abram but because he believed and he trusted his name will later be changed to Abraham look at verse number one now the Lord had said unto Abram get thee out of thy country from thy Kindred from thy Father's House unto a lamb that I will show thee and I will make of thee a great nation and I will bless thee make thy name Great Thou shalt be a blessing I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed see there's what God was looking for God was looking for a man God didn't become overwhelmed with Babylon he took care of Babylon but why they're trying to be a Babylon God's trying to build a church while there's people that say I'd rather go to Babylon and have it my way he had an Abraham that he could save if you'll come out if you'll believe me if you'll trust me I bless you I'll bless those that bless you as a matter of fact in you Abram all the families of the Earth shall be blessed but you understand that God's calling is just simply God's calling it is only a calling until you respond it is only a calling that's all it ever is some people some people they try to get some kind of comfort out of knowing that God's called them that's wonderful but God can only put his calling into effect if we respond we've got to respond to his calling look at uh you would follow me down to Hebrews chapter 11. verse number eight he kind of brings it to light a little bit better Hebrews chapter 11. in verse number eight talks about Abraham by faith Abram Abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should have to receive as an inheritance obeyed he went out not knowing whether he went there's your faith there's your faith sometimes you have to have obedient Faith with God he went out where are we going can you imagine how Abram was trying to explain that to his wife can you imagine how he was trying to explain that to people around him God spoke to me which God God spoke to me well where do you say to go he just said to leave this place you see when God places a calling Upon Our Lives we don't need to live in fear that God cannot back up his word students God Can Has and always will back up his word you can Bank on God's word if God says I want you to go out just leave it alone you can Bank on God's word not knowing whether he went give me the next verse please verse Number Nine by faith he's so adjourned in a Land Of Promise as in a strange country dwelling in Tabernacles that was tensed with Isaac and Jacob The Heirs with him of the same promised for he looked for a city which hath Foundation whose Builder and maker is God so look at this while babylon's being built students God's Building the church there are people that are willing to have faith in God that said I'll make something out of your life I'll make something out of your life I'll do a special thing with you just like if I could use the Delaney family that's here tonight how they get called to a city to build a church probably I I don't know brother Delaney you're probably just like me but we've got all these big visions and we don't know where in the world the money is going to come from and we've been told to go to we've been told to go to Mount Airy and we've been told to go to Maryville and we've been told to do all these things but God we in our minds we can't worry about is the bill is going to get paid it's going to happen God says you leave that up to me you leave that up to me no I'm only going to go to Mount Airy when I figure it all out I'm only going to go that when I got all the answers to it God never blesses anybody like that way but give me a man or a woman give me somebody and listen it doesn't have to be in the student section tonight it can be in the trendsetter section because God is not finished or God doesn't wipe his hands of you when you sign up on Social Security there may be some of you that are 65 tonight or 75 tonight that God is saying I'd like to call you to do a work not to call you to do a work Bible says he went out called responded but can I tell you and get ready for this if you dare take what I'm preaching tonight if you dare leave this place and believe it's all right to drink because after all no I got drunk and if you dare leave this place tonight after I reveal the flaws and these great people of the Bible and you feel like you've got a license to do that because after all Noah did it after all Abraham did it can I just tell you something read my lips tonight sweetly you don't know God you don't know God because this is not a license to go out and be flawed I'm teaching this tonight to flaud people because come on we are all damaged goods we clean up pretty good after a while but underneath the suits and the dresses and the hairdos is flawed people but flawed people can be used of God flawed people come on Noah I don't believe you'd have ever been referred to in the New Testament as a righteous man if you hadn't got your act together and overcome the drunkenness of your tent praising praising him praise him right now Just Praise Him right now we're flawed people we're all flawed people we're all flaw people oh I'm gonna stop because I'm flawed no you don't stop because you're flawed you learn how to lean on the Everlasting Arms of An Almighty God when I am weak then he is strong in my life you see I gotta admit I'm I gotta oh my mama I couldn't teach if my life depended on it you see why you need to realize and admit you're flawed is because you're flawed confession leads you to the strong arms of a God that says I'll hold you your flawed confession the hypocrisy of trying to say you're perfect leads you to build your own Babylon it leads you to build your own little house will you sit around and talk about well I've never done this and I've never done that and I've never felt like this and I've got my little Babylon and the higher that I can go on the list of things I haven't done and I can build my Babylon in the midst of a bunch of flawed people how good that I look can I tell you you can build your Babylon but God's Gonna judge your Babylon you can build a house of Pride that God's Gonna Knock that house of Pride down but give me a flawed woman give me a flawed man they don't say I'm flawed I've got flaws but he made me a promise I've got flaws but he said he would never leave me in order forsake me what was Abraham's flaws he lied what'd he lie about his identity and his relationship with Sarah Sarah his wife they go down to Egypt and that's a whole story in itself why did they go down to Egypt because of famine come into land but why did they go down to Egypt and not lean upon God to provide bread in the wilderness they didn't have to go to Egypt God never wants you to be somewhere you have to lie about your identity I believe if Abraham would have stayed the course if Abram would have stayed the course God would have fed him with a raven God would have put bread from heaven God would have provided all those things for him but he went down to Egypt and when he starts getting close to Egypt he looks at Sarah and he says Sarah you're a beautiful woman and he said they're liable to cut my throat so they could have you so begin to say that you are my sister he lied he was flawed he not only lied once he lied twice about it sometime later he lied God had to give Wicked Pagan Kings dreams that the woman Sarah wasn't a single woman and Kings had to come and rebuke Abram and say why did you do this to us one king asked him why did you do this to us someone may have taken your wife in Lane with her and we would have brought sin upon us and so they sinned Abram out but just because you are flawed come on just because you have messed up doesn't stop God from saying if you will confess and confess your weakness we'll continue the story Genesis chapter 15 verse number 5 if you would put that you would put that on the screen for me or excuse me Genesis chapter 15. verse number one he's lied twice he's told Sarah just tell people you are my sister twice he has been shown he has showed a flaw he is lied he has showed a flaw he has little faith in a god of protection he has showed a flaw he has got little faith in a god of provision but when his flaws are revealed it's not time to run to another God for another calling it's time to keep the same God and let the same God now begin to work with you because you're going to be stronger now because you confess your flaws he's lied twice now here's chapter 15 verse number one after these things after what things after his flaws the word the word of the Lord came into Abram in a vision saying fear not Abram I am thy shield in thy exceeding great reward and Abram said and Abram said Lord God what would thou give me sin I go childless and the steward of my house is this Eleazar of Damascus he begins to try to think I've got a steward I've got a young man that I've raised up his name is Eleazar I got him he's like a son to me let him be my heir Abram said to behold but to me thou Hast given no seed Lord one born in my house is my heir and behold the word of the Lord came unto him saying this shall not be thine Heir but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine air and he brought him forth God brought him forth abroad and said look now toward heaven he's talking to a flawed man you hear me he's talking to a flawed man look now toward heaven and tell the Stars if thou be able to number them and he said unto him so shall thy seed be Abraham thinking Eleazar is going to be the heir God said to air is coming out of your own vows and he said come on out here and let me show you something he said Abraham look up toward heaven and now number the stars and if you can Number the Stars that's how your seed's going to be but then verse number six comes in and he believed in the Lord and he counted it to him for righteousness here's what he did here is the miracle of Abram here's what God was looking for in Abram and what God's looking for in US a man or woman who will believe what God says regardless regardless I am going on 83 years old we've never had children Sarah has passed the time of childbearing we've never had children it's never going to happen but when God took him out that night brother Ferguson and showed him the Stars and God said God's word your seed is going to be like the stars somewhere in Abraham's not his mind because Faith doesn't begin in your mind Faith begins in your heart somewhere Abraham put the regardless there and says I don't care how many years we've never had a child God if your word says it it's going to come to pass I believe on this Wednesday night that God is traveling the pews of the aisles the First Apostolic and he's trying to get some of you to stop trying to see him through your mind and start believing you through your heart and when we start saying God I don't know how you're going to fix all this if we'll take our hands off our lives I promise you God can do some pretty awesome things but we've got to take our hands off because Babylon is built by man's hands but the church is built by the hand of the Lord take your hands off your life so flawed so flawed and God gave him the promise but you know what happens to us Maybe lying is not your flaw but I believe this next flaw I believe every one of us have this next flaw I believe every last one of us have this next flaw patience after we've done the will of God patience gonna have a baby yeah I believe that the years went on the Bible said in Genesis 16. verse number one now Sarah Abram's wife bear him no children and she had a handmaid an Egyptian whose name was Hagar Sariah said unto Abram blessed behold now the Lord hath restrained me from there isn't it amazing when we start losing our patience we start telling what God's will is and the Lord ain't gonna let me have no children you know why you've lost your patience he said she said the Lord hath restrained me from bearing I pray they go in unto thy maid it may be that I may obtain children by her and Abraham hearken to the voice of his wife Shariah Abram's wife took Hagar her made the Egyptian after Abram had dwelt 10 years in the land of Canaan it took them 25 years to get them in Isaac but they messed up almost at the halfway mark and they got impatient can I tell you you'll fight your hottest battles when you're halfway there you'll have your biggest battles spiritually when you're almost on the verge of a breakthrough I've counseled more people more Merit more marital counseling people say we just get along fine through the week it's Saturdays and Wednesdays at with us you know what I sell them put your thinking cap on that's none other than the enemy mess you up on Saturday night so you won't come on Sunday mess you up on Wednesday listen I've just about I've got used to it you all know come on get a witness now if things are going to happen they're going to happen on Wednesday right it's going to happen on Wednesday can't happen on Monday Tuesday or Thursday or Friday gotta have them on Wednesday because that enemy the last thing that enemy wants you to come here show the hottest battle you got you need to say wait a minute Abram I think we're halfway there you know I'm tempted to take that little Lively Egyptian uh girl and I'm tempted to give her to you and and of course Abraham didn't kick back on it he he obliged her when she she brought her in the room and and he took her but you know what somebody's got to say I don't care how good the world looks we're halfway there I don't care how the world can come around and the world can show me a Hagar praise God we're halfway there let's don't give up now we're halfway there oh somebody ought to get a little faith in them tonight and start saying you know what I'm halfway there you know what I've kept myself all through school I'm about to graduate from high school and the enemy's trying to get me to do something stupid why I'm halfway there halfway there Abram harkened of the voice of sarri-eyed verse 3 and Sarah Abram's wife took Hagar hermaid the Egyptian after Hagar had dwelled after Abram had dwelt 10 years in the land of Canaan and gave her to her husband to be his wife he went in into Hagar she conceived and when she saw that she had conceived her mistress was despised in her eyes can I tell you what you think is the answer is going to turn around and hate you one day watch you look around and get impatient with oh I don't say this often but this is good I've not run down you still used to run down sit on the front row remember that and say hey that's good preaching it's too far to run down there all right can I tell you that you get impatient things will look good to you and you'll figure it out for God and you'll get you a Hagar relationship and just as soon as you get Hagar and bring her in and you become you you get Hagar pregnant Hagar I'll Stand and look at you and defy you and you will regret the day you ever let Hagar come into your life so what I'm preaching about tonight God's made you a promise God's major a provision God said you're special I'm working on doing something through your life Sarah said look at verse number five Sarah said unto Abram my wrong be upon thee I have given my maid into thy bosom and when she saw that she had conceived I was despised In Her Eyes the Lord judged between me and thee but Abraham said Abram said to Sarah Behold thy mate is in thine hand said she's yours you've got to deal with it you know too many people get them a Hagar pregnant then come to the pastor she came to Abraham and said oh she looks at me now and she she won't go get the water for me anymore and she won't she won't get my towels for me anymore she won't clean the house for me anymore she used to obey everything I said but she won't do that anymore said Abraham said you need to take care of this he said no no no no no no it was your idea to bring her in so if it's your ideal to bring her in it's your ideal to send her out see like brother Hammond said I thought that was so good the other night we can cast The Devil out of you but we can't cast the sins that you choose to live in those can't be cast out of you you invited them in and you've got to send them to the door all right but now they got a Hagar they have to deal with you know that's why we got you do realize you do realize that's why we got all that trouble over the Middle East because Ishmael is the father of the Arab race and I'm not I'm not blanketing all Arabs but at the root of that race is a wild spirit to fight against who the promised child who's the promised child Isaac's the promised child because 15 years later Isaac comes into the family Abraham's a hundred years old when Isaac is born and Isaac comes into the family and I don't know how many days this was I don't know if he was 13 years old I don't know but they were having a big celebration for Isaac a big birthday party for him and Sarah looked out and saw Ishmael mocking Isaac and she said you got to send that woman away because the son of the flesh will always mock the son of the spirit you take people that are Ishmael minded they don't understand why we worship they don't understand why we praise God they don't understand why why we keep music going and why is the pastor keeping that going why is the pastor walking back and forth the crowd I'll tell you why the pastor is because I'm wanting the spirit to come down I want God to know that we're serious about him tonight I don't want three songs a testimony an offering a Bible study and go home and bless your heart I won't have of them to come down I want the Holy Ghost to come down upon us but if you're a son of Ishmael you laugh at that if you're a son of Ishmael you don't have to go to the prayer room if you're a son of Ishmael you don't give the missions if you're a son of Ishmael You Buck ever a standard that can be preached You Buck everything that could be preached because you're a son of Ishmael I wish you just come over and finish teaching this tonight some promise I promise you be faithful to God young lady your day of your night in shining armor is coming but you got to be faithful you go ahead young couple step out and give a 10 like God says whenever things telling you we got car payments and we got to get out of debt first and I'm going to tell you what any financial plan that tells you to hold off paying your tithe until you get out of debt is not God's financial plan but young couple oh I can just start naming them tonight I can start naming people tonight that came into this church as poor as job's turkey and I don't know how poor job's turkey was but it was a poor turkey I mean to tell you they came into this church poor man I mean that that they lived in neighborhoods they were so poor that the garbage man ran and left a bag of garbage instead of taking up their garbage they were so poor the river only ran twice by their house weekly they were poor but they got in this church they were minimum wage people but they got in this church and they heard the word of the Lord the word of Babylon said you can't afford to tithe the word of Babylon says after you get out of debt you've been given to tithe but somehow they heard the word of Malachi that said bring you all the tithe into the storehouse Hallelujah I'm telling you you know why God you know why God needs an Abraham because all the earth needs to be blessed do you know why God wants some tithers in this church because we got to have more Billboards in this town to tell people that the apostolic we have got here we are here in this town my Lord I'll tell you I'm just going to have to worship for a moment I'm going to have to praise him for a moment right now because I feel my promise coming on oh I feel my promise coming on oh I feel my promise coming on you're too tired to worship God it's Wednesday night shut up Ishmael I feel my promise coming on I feel my promise coming on in this house Hallelujah film a promise I can't stand I feel my promise coming on feel the son of Promise come on a promise came obedience was in Abram's heart sign of circumcision was given to Abraham oh my mama sign of circumcision that's the score of that Abraham's knew the Judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah Abraham prayed him out of Sodom and Mara he brought him out of Sodom and Gomorrah Isaac was born and Abraham had his ultimate test to have to give Isaac up on an altar but Abraham did it Abraham did it let me go here for just a moment somebody say struggle say it struggle can anybody relate to that word come on can anybody relate to that word struggle you know that God has never had a man or a woman that he's done anything with them what they had to go through struggle God never had a man God never had a woman your struggle becomes your testimony unless it becomes your tomb it's what you do with your struggle get your thumb out of your mouth acting like you're the only one that's went through struggle stop isolating yourself because somehow your Ishmael has told you you're the only one having it rough and all these other people just floating here we just flowed in here filling the spirit no we don't float in here we fight hell to get in here fat healthy we fight voices that speak in our mind and tell us and everybody thinks you're a phony everybody thinks you're fake everybody thinks you're this now we can stick our Thumb in our mouth and get all isolated and sit back and act like we're the only ones going through this and I wish people would pay attention to me because I'm the only one struggling can I tell you you're not the only one struggling you're just the one that's struggling that's acting like you're the only one struggling but you show me men that'll run the aisles and I'll show you a Ben Lee that could say I just came through a day of struggle you show me men and women that can stand up and lift their hands and praise God and I'll show you men and women and say they struggled you show me some young people that God has made something with I'll show you young people whose homes look like a war zone who didn't even know who their mom and dad were that that had to go through life having friends that their mom and dad bought them all these gifts at their birthday they don't even know what their mom looks like they don't even know what their dad looks like they've been shoved around in a welfare system but you give me that same young lady you give me that same young man that'll stand up and say but I feel like God I feel like God can do something with me I feel like God should I know my daddy's a heroin addict I know my mama sold her body on the street corner but God told me to come out God told me to come out and he would make something out of me I'm just going in here in a minute I'm just going in here in a minute Jacob and Esau struggled Genesis 25 20. Isaac was 40 years old when he took Rebecca to wife the daughter of Beth UL the Syrian of padamaram the sister of Laban the Syrian Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife because she was buried and the Lord was entreated of him and Rebecca's wife conceived you know why they asked God God why God why because he's 40 years old when he marries her and 20 years later they still don't have a child did they start thinking wait a minute are we going to have to go through what your Mom and Daddy went through yeah because what your Mom and Daddy went through produce you if what listen I'm not one bit motherfarp I'm not one bit tempted to change how we have church I am not one bit tempted when they want to have seminars and tell us how we ought to do service and we you know you need to preach only no more than 20 minutes and and and you need to have the people in I'm telling you this stuff is being preached you need to have people in and out of service in 50 minutes to an hour they need to be out of there people don't want to stay two hours anymore they don't want all that in you can't get red face you got to read poetry you can't be red-faced and all that they're going to think you're mad and all that can I tell you you've come too late to tell me if it worked for my daddy Abraham it'll work for me if it work for my daddy it'll work for me I know it's been 20 years and you never had a baby Mom and Daddy went 25 years without a baby but they finally got a baby and then working Hallelujah I don't know why I want to say this but I think tonight if somebody would just take off running around this building I just believe that God no it don't make any sense tonight I just believe that God would begin to do some things I know it don't make any sense I I I know that I know the sons of Ishmael are gonna laugh about it come on come on come on come on come on some of you are fighting hell almost got your foot out in the aisle you ought to do something tonight you ought to do something tonight come on Ishmael oh Hallelujah come on Caroline come on Caroline worship come on worship come on worship if you've been going through hell begin to worship begin to worship yeah she may all may laugh about it Ishmael say you're gonna have to do it but I'm not wanting to birth an Ishmael I want to burn that I said I want to Burnt the Isaac in me struggle struggle yeah yes yes yes yes yes oh ishmael's Gonna Change the Way some of you dress around here Ishmael doesn't change the way some of you dress around here y'all done chains the way some of you act around here as a matter of fact there's some people not here tonight because Ishmael told them you don't have to come on Wednesday night well you can go ahead and build your Babylon Ishmael but Isaac said I need to forsake not the assembling of myself I need to come when the doors are open oh God you may standing with me God I want God to save my husband God I want you to save my children God I want you to give me a a miracle Rebecca said Abraham Rebecca said Isaac I'm not pregnant it's been 20 years verse 21 Isaac entreated the Lord he went to the Lord Lord Rebecca's Baron and the Lord heard Isaac's prayer and Rebecca conceived now here's where you got to hold on to me things will be calm till the conception but whenever a miracle gets conceived in you get ready for the struggle where's that at in the Bible she conceived and the children struggle together within her and she said if it be so why am I thus and she went to inquire of the Lord man I mean tell you it's one thing for a baby to kick but I mean she's don't know it she got two of them in her womb she's got a Jacob and an Esau she's got a Ishmael and an Isaac she's got one Esau he's the flesh she's got one flawed Jacob he loves God and they're battling together and I mean they're twisting and they're turning she goes to the Lord and said if I'm pregnant what in the world's going on that's what happens when you get pregnant with something in your family all hell breaks loose all trouble breaks roots and God said I'll tell you what's happening to manner of people are within you two manner is going on you've got a war of the Flesh and the spirit that said we're going to change things because normally the younger serves the Elder but I'm gonna turn it around and the Elder is going to serve the younger that's exactly right the old flesh had me Bound for many years it put a lot of cancer sticks in my mouth called cigarettes it did a lot of things to bring death and Damnation to me but one night I got born again and the younger took over control and the younger began to tell the Elder your feet are not going to the drug house anymore your hands are not going to hold alcohol anymore your hands are not going to hold cigarettes anymore your hands are not going to hold filthy magazines anymore you're going to become a new man and the Elder is going to serve you somebody shout the struggle shout it like you mean it in a struggle it's a struggle it's a struggle you better believe it's a struggle it's a struggle Jacob it's a struggle Joseph don't tell me about your dreams of greatness because right after your father puts a coat of many colors on you and you have your dreams of being great your brothers are going to hate you and throw you in a pit and you're going to struggle you're going to struggle you're going to be light on you're going to be mistreated and all these things and I promise you I'm going to let you go on my promise I'm sorry but why are you struggling Jacob Joe Joseph because God says I gotta take Israel to Egypt because Israel Egypt's going to be the furnace that I refine my people I'm going to put what comes through Abraham for 435 years I'm going to put it in the heart of the Furnace of the most powerful Empire on the world Egypt and when the clock hits 430 years I'm going to send a man down there that stutters he'll have to have his older brother with him that talks proper I'll send a man down there with a stick and that man will declare the I am boy I feel the Holy Ghost the I am that I am and Pharaoh you will mock at me and Pharaoh you'll try to duplicate but after 10 plagues I'll turn this city upside down to where you'll be throwing diamonds and gold into the street saying get the Hebrews out of here get the Hebrews out of here why are you struggling Joseph your daddy dies your brothers come down to Egypt and your brothers ring their hands Jacob is dead can't you hear the brothers can't you hear the brothers the brothers Judah was one of the brothers Benjamin was one of the brothers Simeon was one of the brothers hey guys father's dead he's dead we're in trouble Joseph is now going to require of us Our Lives and so they came to Joseph and they said we're so afraid you're going to take our lives he said it Grieves me that you have this perception of me guys Brothers you don't understand you meant it evil but God meant it for good to save much people so therefore you'll live but Watch What Happens if we live with bitterness and revenge in our hearts the normal Ishmael Joseph would have killed all his brothers but when you kill your brother that's offended you you killed Judah and when you killed Judah you'd unstopped everything that God started from Abraham because God wants to get a seed from Abraham through Judah to where it comes out in the New Testament as Jesus Christ can I tell you be quick to forgive every person in your life because you just may kill your Judah don't cut people out of your life don't cut people off out of your life you may cut the very woman that can pray and touch God and bring your backslidden son back to God again I want to tell you I've had every intention to let you all out at 8 45. but I think the harder that I try that the more that God just wants to say I'm in control and um May the Lord add 15 minutes to your day tomorrow
