now as i was leaving tonight the house to come for prayer the wife and i drove separately um and as i was leaving i was hearing her talk about having someone go out and get a bunch of roses tonight and she said i want to give a rose to every woman that's in my class tonight and i said well that's no fair i said you've caught me at the last minute these men get nothing tonight so here's what i want you to do when you see your wife after service and they've got that rose say isn't that wonderful what brother carpenter got you all right you know creation and i guess when we start with home life this is where we begin we begin with creation creation is a an awesome an awesome thing uh to study creation i i received an email from brother xender a few days ago with some facts about creation that i i want to share i'm going to share with you tonight and before i read my text the email stated said one may observe god's accuracy in the hatching of eggs those of the canary they hatch in 14 days those of a barnyard hen in 21 days eggs of ducks and geese in 28 days those of the mallard in 35 days eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days notice they are all divisible by seven number of the days of the week now if that if that's not enough for you we see god's wisdom in the making of an elephant the four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction no other four-footed beast is made this way god planned that the animal world would that this animal would have a huge body too large to live on two legs for this reason he gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily no other creature has these the horse rises from the ground on its front on its two front legs a cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first how wise the lord is in all of his creation but it goes on each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the ryan ryan each orange has an even number of segments each ear of corn has an even number of rows each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains every bunch of bananas has on its lowest roll an even number of bananas and each row decreases by one so that the one row has an even number and the next row an odd number it's amazing isn't it the waves of the sea roll in on shore 26 to the minute in all kinds of weather all grains are found in even numbers on the stall god has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day a great botanist once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil moisture and temperature he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed the lives of each of us may be ordered by the lord in a beautiful way for his glory if we will only entrust him with our lives if we try to regulate our lives we will have only a mess and failure but if we will let god regulate our lives men then we will have great success creation creation if you have your bibles and we stand with me i invite your attention now to the great creation chapter in the great creation book of genesis it's interesting genesis is the beginning and it has our creation genesis chapter 1 verse number 26 and god said let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth so god created man in his own image in the image of god created he him male and female created he them and god blessed them and god said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth moveth upon the earth and i'm going to stop right there and i want to entitle this first session this first session that i have much prayed over and much thought about what do we need first what do we need first and i've simply entitled this what every man needs to know what every man needs to know father i thank you tonight lord for this wonderful group of men of the first apostolic church god a group of men that i believe are a notch above the average church-going man god i pray tonight as we have set out to address our home life our marriages our children that god in an age that is has an all-out war against gender identity has an all-out war against marriage as defined in the holy writ oh god tonight i pray that you would instill your wisdom and knowledge in us that god we would be able to walk uprightly in a world that cannot tell its right hand from its left god touch us tonight in jesus wonderful name we pray and everyone said amen you may be seated brother randy cogdill is a man's man he is a man's man those of you that know him know he's big and burly and he's got hands like like he wears boxing gloves he's a builder a man of the woods but i watched that man the other morning as he and i were having some fellowship i watched him begin to thank god i watched him begin to thank god he said sunday morning in service he got overwhelmed he began to count his blessings he began to think about his son cody who works here at the church he was either upstairs on a camera do ushering doing work here he talked about his daughter mackenzie that's helping out in unlimited class and helping out there and he began just to say i've got so much to be thankful for and i agree with brother randy when you want to count your valuables they don't start and you're safe they start in the house of god so i'm not buttering you up to dress you down i personally believe that there's a group of men that attend church here at first apostolic church that are just a notch above the average church going man and i do appreciate you tonight i do appreciate what every man needs to know the first thing every man needs to know is that he is created by god now to us tonight that may be the obvious thing but we live in a world that is battling and warring to erase any image of god from this world it will not be long before you encounter if you have not already encountered it as i you will say thank you ma'am only for the man to correct you excuse me sir and they correct you again we are living in a world that will do its best to try to intimidate us to make us conform to their ways i can't do a lot about the world but i can meet for a few moments on a wednesday evening with a group of hungry-hearted men and say that we are truly in need in this hour thank you men we are created by god as men as males as masculine the bible says in verse 27 that god created man in his own image in the image of god created he him male and female created he then so every man would know tonight and remind himself i am a creation i am a creation of god but verse 26 or verse 27 excuse me would lead us into verse 28. after we're informed by our great creator that we were created by god the first communication that god had with man the very first communication in verse number 28 it goes like this and god blessed them and god said unto them it's the very first communication that we have between creator and creation let's not skip over this part that says blessed what does this mean in the hebrew the word here blessed means to kneel before it means to adore to kneel and to adore so now we have god creating a man and then we find god using language that he kneels before and that he adores or that he loves if you understand luke chapter 3 and verse 38 is going to shed some light on why god would kneel and why god would adore is because genesis or excuse me luke chapter 3 and verse number 38 goes through the genealogies and it says which was the son of enos which was the son of seth which was the son of adam which was the son of god so we understand that just as any parent or grandparent kneels before a child not in the worship of that child but in the gentleness of a father to a door to look not from a lofty size height down but to bend a knee and to be able to look into the eye and to behold something that you love what every man needs to know tonight including your pastor is that we are loved by god we are loved by god i can't make that statement about everyone in your life but i can make that statement about god gentlemen tonight god loves you what every man needs to know the first communication that was made between creator and creation god blessed them and god said unto them i believe in the scriptures that what we are seeing here is man becoming aware of the presence of god adam becoming aware as he wakes up and flutters his eyes from creation gathers his thoughts together and now his creator is adoring him his creator is communicating with him that you are made in my image that you have become aware of your spirit essence or the presence of your creator we must understand tonight that when we were made in the image of the likeness of god that god is spirit and we have spirit we have spirit we have that invisible part of us that's eternal that invisible part of us that's eternal the outward shell is aging by the moment the moment you were born you become you begin to age the outward is aging by the moment but be well assured tonight men you have a spiritual part every one of us have a spiritual part of us that god wants us to be aware of this spiritual part of us is of utmost importance that we maintain a connection between our spirit creation and his spirit creator it plays such a role in our lives our spirit communicating with his spirit god was letting adam know making him aware of his spirit spiritual sense and in proverbs chapter 18 verse number 14 the wise men begin to inform us about the importance of our spirit in proverbs chapter 18 and verse number 14 it simply says the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit who can bear brethren whatever man needs to know you get your strength from your spirit what every man needs to know your strength comes from your spirit the wise man said that a spirit of a man will sustain the word there sustain means to uphold it means to help it means to hold up it means to support the spirit of a man will support his infirmity the word infirmity there means weakness what every man needs to know is that we all have weaknesses every last one of us have weaknesses our weaknesses may be in different shapes and forms and different causes there may be a weakness here because a man doesn't even know what his biological father looks like there may be a weakness here because a man had some kind of a turmoil or he had something happen in his life but hear me tonight hear me there's not a man here in this room tonight or watching online and the man in this pulpit all of us have a weakness but that's not negative because the bible tells us that the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity his weakness can i tell you that your worship of god will bridge every weak infirmity that you have in your life that's why it's so important to be a spirit worshiper of almighty god can you give god a hand to praise right now we get our strength from our spirit the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit a wounded spirit who can bear he leaves it up to a question if you have a wounded spirit if your spirit is wounded that it cannot operate correctly if your spirit is wounded to the place that you try to get your strength outside of your spirit he just simply says who can put up with that i believe the answer is no one can put up with that because the spirit of a man and i hope this in the days to come helps us to understand why it's important to worship god in our spirit the spirit of man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit who can bear we get our strength through our spirit proverbs chapter 20 and verse number 27 simply says the spirit of man is the candle of the lord searching all the inward parts of the belly what is the purpose of a candle the purpose of a candle is to light what is the purpose of light the purpose of light is because of darkness in the darkness you cannot see but in the light you can see you see we really don't know what lies underneath the surface of us men until we allow the spirit to become the candle of the lord to search out all the parts of us the enemy likes to deceive us and tell us our our problems is such and such when all the while in the dark crevices of your soul is an issue that has gone unresolved and all it would take would be for you to allow the spirit of god to enlighten you and you would begin to see it's not my brother it's not my sister but it's me oh god standing in the need of prayer a spirit of man is the candle of the lord it lights up parts of us it reveals parts of us we get our revelation of ourselves through our spirit we find out truly who we are and who we're not when we allow that candle to light inside of our souls it was in isaiah chapter 66 and verse number one and i must tell you god is angry as these verses are being written in isaiah 66 and verse number 1 he says thus saith the lord the heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool where is the house that you have built unto me and where is the place of my rest for all those things have my hand made and all those things have been saith the lord now now once you get i want you to understand it's the analogy is god is looking for a place to live god is looking and god is still looking for a dwelling place god's looking for a place to live in your home god's looking for a place to live in your lives and so god is saying to israel i'm looking for a place to live and of course they're they're beginning to say well god live here in the temple or god live here and he says my hands have already made these things heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool and he's he's angry because they're trying to get god to live in a building but watch how god turns this verse two for all those things have my hand made and all those things have been saith the lord but to this man will i look now keep in mind he's looking for a place to live he says i'm not going to live in your temple i made the i made the rocks that built that temple i'm not going to live in these man-made things he said but let me tell you what i'm looking for he said but this but to this man will i look even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembleth at my word now i want you to know something tonight i want god to be looking toward me i want god to be looking to live inside of me but what god is looking for is someone of a poor and a contrite spirit now the word poor here means lo in the opinion of himself contrite means to be smitten he says i'm not looking for the man that believes he's got it all together you can have it all together in a lot of areas of your life but it's all going to fall apart if god doesn't live in you he said i'm looking for that man that has smitten the high opinion of himself i'm looking for that man that on a regular basis confesses with his tongue god i need your help when the finances are good he's looking for a man that says but god i need your help a man of low opinion of himself contrite smitten a lot of books have been written on what's entitled brother brad the beatitudes you probably couldn't put all the books in the world that's been written on jesus sermon on the mound and called the beatitudes we've heard them blessed are blessed are blessed are but do you know in that famous discourse of the beatitudes it starts in matthew 5 and verse number 2. and he opened his mouth and taught them saying blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven before he says anything else about any other beatitude he says we've got to get it correct on the first attitude because a beatitude is an attitude he says before i tell you anything else about living a blessed life i've got to first tell you that you must have blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of god now listen to this if our spirit isn't right if our spirit isn't right it doesn't matter if we have good actions the wrong spirit disqualifies the right actions the wrong spirit so we'll come to church the wrong spirit disqualifies the right action you can have the right action tithing coming to church even down to not wearing certain apparel you can have the right action but do you have the wrong spirit because the wrong spirit totally disqualifies the right action you can have brother thorpe i believe as a schoolteacher you'll like this one you can have the correct answers on the test but if you cheated to get them you are disqualified yeah the right answer is on the test but brother tharp comes by and finds out you cheated for those answers your test is disqualified now let's go back for a moment to isaiah chapter 66 see maybe some of you in verse number two see maybe some of you tonight thought well you're going to talk to us about opening the car door for our wife you're going to talk to us about saying honey and sweetie and all of those things you're going to talk to us about all these different things maybe by the end of the month i'll get there but what good is it if you're not communicating with your creator because i promise you what needs to happen more in your home is not you and your wife learn how to communicate it's for you to learn how to communicate with your god if you'd like to clap you go ahead do you remember with me and isaiah when i told you that the lord was looking for a certain man and that that man was of a poor and a contrite spirit well i want to go back there for a moment in light of the beatitude that he begins by saying i want you to be blessed i want you to be poor in spirit i say in 66 2 he says for all those things have my hand made and all those things have been saith the lord but to this man will i look even to him that is pouring of a contrite spirit and trembleth at my word he that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man he that sacrificeth the lamb as if he had cut off a dog's neck he that offereth an oblation a drink offering as if he offered swine's blood he that burneth incense as if he blessed an idol yea they have all chosen their own ways and their soul delighted in their abominations what's he saying if you've got the wrong spirit i don't care if you come and slay an ox in the altar it's like you murdered a man he said if you got the wrong spirit i don't care if you bring a sacrifice of a lamb he said you might as well bring a dog in here and cut his head off he said if you don't have the right spirit pour all you drink off and on the ground it's as if you brought pig's blood in here and throwed it down he said i don't care about your burnt incense it's as if you raised your hands and blessed and altered he is saying your spirit has got to be right what every man needs to know is that the first thing he has to get in control is his spirit he has to realize that he was made in the image in the likeness of god the only way that he can the only way that he can make it in life is to allow the spirit on the inside to communicate with the spirit on the outside just for a moment in the middle of my bible lesson tonight could we lift our hands and just cry out to god help us god oh god help us lord tonight god help us lord to be able to smite our pride help us oh god to be able to smite our haltiness god oh god help us to be able to break down the things that we put between you and us god oh god we were made by your spirit lord oh lord i reach out to you tonight lord i praise you tonight god i magnify you tonight god oh god help me to smite my pride help me to smite god my plans lord oh god i was made by you and i was made for you god help me god to be able to communicate with you again back to the beatitudes back to the first beatitude blessed are the poor blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of god blessed are the poor that word there is the the bottom of the words that jesus could use to denote poverty it's it's more than just poor it's at the bottom of the of the of of of the word the verbiage it's the worst poverty that you could ever have he said blessed are the poor the poverty and spirit for theirs is the kingdom of god their poverty in spirit opens up to them the unsearchable riches of almighty god oh hallelujah you see the first beatitude must be poor in spirit it doesn't matter if you mourn if you're not poor in spirit it doesn't matter if you fake how meek you are if you're not poor in spirit doesn't matter how hungry you claim to be after god and thirsty after god if you're not poor in spirit it doesn't matter how merciful you pretend to be or pure in heart or peacemakers are persecuted if you are lacking that poverty-stricken spirit it doesn't matter the rest of the beatitudes simply do not work this word here poor means to be poverty stricken this word poor means to be reduced to begging reduced to begging beggars have absolutely no pride when a man is so hungry that he'll go out and beg he'll go out and beg for his food beggars simply have no pride at all and of course tonight i'm not talking about natural bread i'm talking about being a man that realizes god if i have to beg i will god if i have to beg i will now i want you to know and i've given some thought to this today i've just set brother tyler and i really i really just kind of i really just kind of meditated i really just kind of meditated on this today because you've often heard pastors say god doesn't want you to beg him god doesn't want you to beg him i just want you to know i'm kind of rethinking that thought i'm kind of rethinking that thought because i really believe that we have to get a spirit that's willing to beg because if god doesn't touch us woe be to us if god doesn't help us will be to us i'm not near as concerned about what's coming up on us as a culture as i am about us meeting the culture without god so god doesn't want to touch it god doesn't want us to beg brother carpenter the bible says in psalms 37 verse 25 brother carpenter please look at this verse with me god doesn't want us to beg i have been young and now i'm old yet i have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread that's right he said no begging of bread but you see bread is not what i really need god is what i really need the natural things of this world is not what i really need tonight what i really need is god i can't live without god for in him we live and move and have our being not only is my life doomed if i don't have him but my marriage is doomed if i don't have him and not only is our marriage doomed if we don't have him our family is doomed our children are left open to be raped by every demon of hell that comes through and some of the most cruel things that happened to the old testament to one king there was one king that was so cruelly treated that they made him witness they would not allow him to close his eyes while the wicked conqueror brought that man's sons and daughters before him and slew them in the midst while he was not allowed to close his eyes without god brothers in our lives satan will suit to it that we have to live years watching him rape and murder our children when all the while if we could have just been a man that god was looking for a man that was willing to say god i need a touch from you tonight on this wednesday night god what i have come to church more for is more than just to keep my wife off my back god i want you to know that i need you tonight more than i need anything else and god if i have to beg you lord please touch me god please touch me tonight oh god i need you more than a raise i need you more god than my football team to win god i need you more than anything tonight god i need you what every man needs to know brother or i i closed my eyes today because i was contemplating because i've been i've been a big promoter of saying god don't want you to bag him and i find myself having something in my head speaking that says you know son of man i did a lot of things in the bible for beggars i did a lot of things in the bible for beggars mark 7 32 and they bring unto him one that was death and had an impediment of his speech and they beseech him that means begged him to put his hand upon him i don't read where jesus ever said don't beg me i don't read word he ever said hey you don't have to beg me i read where they came begging and because they had their spirit open maybe we're not seeing what we want to in our lives in our marriages and our families maybe we're not seeing what we want to men because we don't have a begging spirit about us luke 9 38 and behold a man of the company cried out saying master i beseech thee look upon my son for he is my only child i'm begging you he didn't say you don't have to beg me isn't it noteworthy that the very first miracle brother lawless in the book of acts the very first miracle that was performed by the church what's the common denominator here a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried whom they laid daily at the temple gate of the temple which is quite beautiful to ask or beg for alms of them that entered into the temple this miracles that we seem to have a common thing it's the miracle of a beggar getting his eyes open it's the miracle of a father getting his son delivered from a demon it's the miracle of a lame man walking and leaping and praising god what did they all have in common begging begging oh god touch our spirit oh god touch our spirit in john chapter 4 and verse number 32 excuse me john chapter 4 and verse number 23. in john chapter 4 verse number 23 jesus speaks to the woman and he says but the hour cometh and now is when the true worshipers true worshipers i would say if there's a true worshiper there must also be a false worshiper when the true worshipers shall worship the father how you can read it on the screen say it please how are we to worship the father how are we to worship him it goes all the way back to creation when he created man and he bent down and adored him and allowed him to know you our spirit being and now jesus says the true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth notice that word spirit there is a little s a little case s capital s is the spirit of god a low case is our spirit he says we are to worship god in spirit and in truth for the father seek as such to worship him god is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth brethren tonight everything every everything a man needs to know whatever man needs to know is that you have got to have somewhere deep down in your soul an understanding that your strength lies in your spirit your strength lies in your connection through your spirit with his spirit and as your spirit connects with his spirit he can help you overcome every personality flaw that you have he said and i pray this prayer i would that men pray everywhere lifting up holy hands without doubt or wrath wrath anger a lot of men are so angry and they don't even know why they're angry they're angry with being life being unfair they're angry that life does not have a level playing field they're angry that they have to rub shoulders with other men who were set far ahead of them by life just being more level and things being more right in their life and they're angry but i am here to tell you tonight you don't have an anger problem that cannot be solved and conquered if you will just understand take your spirit and when it comes time to come to the house of god understand tonight none of us have the luxury of standing through a worship service and not giving praise and honor to god none of you have the luxury of standing and saying in 10 minutes this will be over i'm here tonight i'm desperate tonight i'm a beggar tonight my life depends upon it tonight god i reach out to you tonight lord anger anger and doubt doubt is this really worth selling out to doubt is this really worth the 100 selling out that i feel every time i come god wants to remove that doubt but god wants our spirit to connect with him and if our spirit is to connect with him is it any wonder that jesus said these words in john 3 verse 5. jesus answered verily verily i say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit notice that is a capital s that is the holy spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of god brethren hear me tonight when adam sinned that day and he broke the law of god he died spiritually his connection between him and his god was dead but some thou a few thousand years later on a hill called calvary the god man shed his blood and he gave instructions to the disciples to tarry ye in jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high and on that great first pentecostal morning when a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind filled that upper room and 100 faithfulness 120 faithful disciples of jesus christ were filled with the baptism of the holy ghost that reconnection that connection was reconnected and ever since pentecost we have had the opportunity to be born again of the water and of the spirit i would did every man that's received the gift of the holy ghost would lift their hands right now and begin to worship and praise and magnify the name of jesus oh holy spirit of god inside of me connect me with you o god oh the conquering spirit the overcoming spirit the life-giving spirit lord come upon us tonight almighty god come upon us tonight lord i love you and i praise you come on worship for a moment come on worship for a moment right now i love you lord i love you lord i love you lord i know your body's tired i know your mind is tired but there's a spirit deep down inside of you that needs to connect with the great spirit of god tonight what every man needs to know what every man needs to know first things first he spent a couple of verses blessing bowing down and communicating and after that when he ministered to the man his ultimate need your ultimate need tonight i promise you brothers i speak the truth in jesus christ and lie not your ultimate need tonight is god and it can't be so obvious that you do nothing about it you've got to connect with your creator stop trying to connect with creation and then connect with your creator material things never have nor ever will make you happy without god without god material prosperity will only complicate your already messed up life so he goes to verse number 29 of genesis 1. god our father our creator has set first things first adam your spirit being connect with me and then in verse 29 the second communication and god said behold i have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed to you it shall be for meat and to every beast of the earth and to every fowl of the air and to everything that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is life i have given every green herb for meat and it was so you know what god brother brother seth you know what god takes care of now our material needs he says i've already given you everything in life materially that you need i've already don't worry about it i've given you these trees i've given you these fruit give it you can take trees and build a house you can take the fruit you can eat i've given you already everything you already need but you gotta understand that came second but their connection to god came first is it any wonder that the commandment that god gave them did not have to do with god it had to do with the material world he said don't ever put the material world above me he said there's a tree out there i gave you all these trees i gave you all the fruit you're going to live by them you're going to cut the trees down and build houses you're going to pluck the fruit you're going to plant the seed you're going to live from the wheat you're going to live from the corn you're going to live from the fruit but see there's one tree the knowledge of good and evil you're not to eat of that tree don't you put that tree before me brothers we commit spiritual suicide when we allow material things to come between us and our creator you will never make enough money to keep you from being a worshiper of god if more money means less church i say less money and more church if more money is causing me to think highly of myself that i'm just a notch above everybody else then god take us back to poverty but i want my soul to always beg oh god for you would you just lift your hands right now would you just lift your hands right now oh i pray this bible class tonight hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah oh hallelujah hallelujah listen to me tonight listen to me tonight it's not that difficult men you're a great group of men you're a great group of men a pastor could not ask a pastor could not ask for a great group of men and young upcoming men in this church micah chapter six and verse number six and i'll close with this you remember you gotta meet your wife tonight she's gonna have that rose you remember what we talked about right micah chapter six and verse number six wherewith shall i come before the lord and bow myself before the most high god shall i come before him with burnt offerings and with calves of a year old now listen to listen to the man now brother ridge you listen to him this man is asking how can i be acceptable before god because what the devil plays over and over in your mind is you're not worthy you're not worthy you you you don't make the big bucks you're not worthy you don't have the talent he plays that record over and over what could i give to god how could i come before the most high god verse seven watch watch the man watch the man will the lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousands of rivers of oil shall i give my firstborn for my transgression and the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul watch he's trying to to get things right with god benjamin he's trying to say what would it take for god to accept me and then the answer comes in verse 8 oh i hope you see this he had showed thee oh man what is good and what does the lord require of thee what is it but to do justly to love mercy and to walk humbly before thy god in other words he doesn't want thousands of rivers of oil and thousands of rams he doesn't want some sacrifice you're unable to give what he wants you to do tonight is a man simply to stand to your feet and confess i am poverty-stricken god without you god i need you in my life more than ever before he's looking for a man that doesn't care how he may look to his friend on his left or how he may look to the friend on his right he's looking for a man that's bloated he's looking for a man that's struggling in pornography he's looking for a man that's struggling with giving a prayer life he's looking for a man that's struggling really being his true self that'll stand to his feet tonight and lift up his voice to say god help me oh god touch me tonight god oh god help me tonight god oh god i need you tonight lord i need you
