When Alone Is Lethal

would you put your hands together give God a great hand of praise tonight I'm he's glad to be in the house for the Lord tonight Hemi believes that you're blessed of God this evening so blessed of Lord this evening well brother for the hot shower what about brother Hightower being baptized the day I walked into the Sevierville church at two o'clock they told us that we had they told me that we had a first-time guest with us I met a gentleman and he started off the conversation and he was looking for a church he said I'm tired of going places and hearing man-made doctrines he said I'm going to find a church that preaches the Bible I said sir you just stay right where you're at I think I can help you thank you you're glad to be apple scholar tonight I'm so glad Peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost I'm glad to be apostolic would you stand with me tonight for the reading of God's Word thank you so much thank you so much I'm going to go back to school and brush up on my vocabulary so I can learn a bunch of words to tell you how thankful I am that you love God and that you're faithful to the Lord and that you're the apple of God's eye man I'll tell you something I don't know of another this miracle church my father-in-law told me he said one time he said Kenny you're top drawer you're top drawer and I I didn't okay top drawer my mother-in-law told me later said that's a compliment said he puts all of his valuables in the top drawer of his dresser I'm gonna tell you miracles top drawer buddy his church is a top drawer in church what about our student section over here they're top drawer hey wait while you're looking for Genesis two and 18 would brother Luna in Oakridge liens on brother sister croucher so much and they have been such a help over there about every Sunday they're baptizing people we're glad to have evangelist Dennis and Evelyn croucher back home with us I tell you I'd be a few minutes try to make you feel good tonight y'all look so faithful to come to church this is one of the most faithful churches I'm just going on with this small group so I want to try to speak what I feel God's given me would you give me a few minutes of your undivided attention just a few moments Genesis chapter 2 and verse number 18 and the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone I will make him a help meet for him for a few moments denial want to preach to the church this simple title when alone is lethal when alone is lethal father tonight thank you for the men and women that are here tonight that truly love you God they love you a witness of that love is their faithfulness to the house of God your house and Lord as we are attempting to go to another level in this new year as we are attempting God together the church together so that no one is left behind and no one is left out God and that we can add to our number of God Lord I just pray that you will anoint these efforts Lord God you would anoint us God as we see as never before our need for one another God anoint our hearts tonight in Jesus name we pray amen amen you may be seated I also like to welcome brother sister step with us tonight pastors Miami Florida we so glad sisters now I know that there are times that we need to be alone with the Lord that we need to be alone with the Lord I know that there are many times in the scriptures Jacob got his name changed to Israel when he was alone with the Lord so I understand that being alone is not lethal when you are with God but being alone without God can be lethal studies have proven that people that find themselves alone and by the way you don't necessarily have to be by yourself to feel alone you can be in a marriage and feel alone you can be in a family and feel alone you can attend first Apostolic Church but still feel alone alone studies have proven that being alone can lead to depression being alone can lead to sleep disorders being alone can lead to you developing type 2 diabetes heart disease has been connected with people being alone high blood pressure has been connected to people being alone mental health and emotional problems have been connected to those that are alone being alone has been one of the leading causes of someone finding themselves substance abuse being alone not being connected Japan has the largest percentage of elderly people over the age of 60 that they say it is an epidemic you can go online and research it's an epidemic of their elders dying alone dying alone now I can't think of anything more sad than dying alone I was called to do a funeral some time ago and there was three people there me the deceased in the funeral director what a sad sight to be in to die alone they say in Japan that they've actually had to develop a whole new department of the cleaner of bodies that have decomposed because the person had been dead for months they died alone I believe what brother Ericsson has felt led to lead the church into is something that connects us something that brings us together I understand all the research that's been done to those that are alone physically but the greatest danger is when we face spiritual loneliness spiritual loneliness disconnected from the body and to stand at night that we are in the shape that we're in called sin because a woman named Eve was all alone with a serpent and I understand the Bible says that she gave to her husband that was with her but I am not so sure that that means that while Eve was being tempted I'm stood there I believe she simply found herself alone in the garden with the tempter it's amazing when we find ourselves alone those that have suffered from what would be termed as a physical loneliness claim that they hear voices they claim that after a while they hold conversations and they hear voices it's amazing how that II had heard the voice of God to tell her that all the other trees you can eat but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil do not eat of that tree for in the day that you eat of that tree he will surely die but it's amazing how being alone and we hear the opposite of what God has said how that somehow what we had been forbidden to take now become something that we look at through the eyes of a voice of being alone and we know that Eve took of the fruit and we're in the shape that we're in today because of Eve it was able in chapter 4 of Genesis verse number 8 Abel lost his life because he got alone in the field with Cain he was alone in the field with someone who despised his worship we come down to a man by the name of Samson Samson only has one verse that it talks about he had a friend in judges chapter 14 verse number 20 it says but Samson's wife was given to his companion his companion is his friend it's the only time in all of Samson's life you hear of Samson having a friend he kills the lion alone he kills an army of Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey alone he carries the gates of Gaza miles down the road and you guessed it alone but what good is a few spiritual accomplishments and victories alone if ultimately you lose the battle in being alone you see in Jena in judges chapter 16 verse number 4 he said and it came to pass afterward that he loved a woman in the valley of Zurich whose name was Delilah and the Lords of the Philistines came up unto her and said unto her entice him and see we're in his great strength lieth and by what means we may prevail against him that we may bind him to afflict him and we will give thee every one of us 1,100 pieces of silver now I want you to look at one thing there look at how the Philistines were united look at how the Philistines were one it is a sad day when the enemy can come together but we can the enemy came together and they plotted the demise plural the Lords of the Philistines came together and they pooled their money together and they said Delilah find out where his strength lies that we may bind him and of course from verse number six from verse number six all the way down I believe it goes all the way down just in verse 16 it's a little game he begins to play with her he tells her will if you'll do this with my hair I'll lose my strength and you take new ropes and you take limbs of trees that you weave it together a little game in all three times she did what he told her and then she beckoned for the Philistines to come in now come on let's put our mistake for a moment I speak for a moment here he is alone with this woman named Delilah and she is crying on his shoulder she is saying you don't really love me if you loved me you would you would tell me where your secret lies and finally he starts to toy around with her a little bit and he tells her it wasn't the right thing he tells her he let me go back up he tells her let's see he says there that verse number six and Delilah said to Samson tell me I pray thee tell me I pray thee we're in that great strength life and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee Samson said unto her if thou bind me with seven green with sore limbs that were never dried then shall I be weak and me as another man he said take take limbs that haven't been dried out he said kind of bind me up with them and said I'll be just like any man well guess what she did she tied him up with those those sticks and then she beckoned for the Philistines to come in and get him he just got up and cast the sticks off she says again you you really don't love me you haven't told me and he tells her again he kills her something else it wasn't right and she did it and call the Philistines in and then another time she did it and called the Philistines e'en and I'm starting to wonder are you just plain not at home up here I'm reading this thinking men when are you gonna catch on this girl doesn't love you well I mean how many times are the philistines gonna have to come out and you're gonna yeah the Spirit of God is gonna come on you and you're gonna fight and run them out that's well and good but how many times is it going to take before you finally wake up and realize you're not my friend you see being lonely has a way of taking common sense away from us sometimes meeting all by ourselves can take common sense away from us if wet paint means wet paint then wet paint means wet paint but if I don't have a friend to be there and say hey look you touched you once don't touch it again we need to understand the power of being spiritually connected to one another because the enemy has got a Delilah for every one of us and I need somebody's voice in my life to say come on come on Kenny come on Kenny you need to think she's got it to you that way once she'll do it again we could spend a lot of time with Samson how about David man after God's own heart how about David the psalmist the young boy that full plate is flute out in the pasture fields as you watched over sheep that love Jehovah how about David a boy that took a won slingshot five smooth stones and brought down the mighty Goliath but what goods that David because second Samuel 11:1 says and it came to pass after the year was expired at the time when Kings go forth to battle that David sent Joab and his servants with him in all Israel and they destroyed the children of Ammon and besieged Rabbah but Damon carried still at Jerusalem do you know what brought David down it wasn't necessarily the site of Mishima it was the site of being alone there wasn't someone there to warn him and to tell him somebody needed to be David's friend and say David you need to get on the battlefield that's where you belong David I know we've got many victories behind us but David you need to get on the battlefield you don't you don't belong in an inactive state David you're a warrior you're a fighter you belong in a fighting position because the devil is that roaring lion that is always out to watch for us and he waits until we are alone David's mistake happened when he was alone it's a man in the Bible by the name of Elijah what a brave man he is he's willing to stare down the false prophets of bale and issue a challenge the God that answers the fire let him be God if your God Belgian answered my fighter will serve ale but if Jehovah answers my fire will serve Jehovah they said well and good it's Elijah that gets out and taunts the worshippers of bel as they prophesied and danced upon the altar they had built to have bel answered by fire it's Elijah that gets out and says cry a little louder maybe your God is in a journey or maybe he is asleep it's Elijah that gathers them all together at the end of the day the prophets of bale had all day long to try to get got the bell to answer my fire but at the end of the day I believe God's looking for a people like me reveal to be a church at the end of the day we're going to be the church at the end of the day at the end of the day Elijah steps out and prays a 58 word prayer he steps out and prays 58 words and at the end of the 58th word the heavens cracked and fire comes down and consumes the sacrifice it is Elijah that tells they have you better get your chariot off this mountain it's not rained in three and a half years and I hear the found of the abundance of rain it's that Elijah that makes his way back to Jezreel but in first Kings chapter 19 and verse number 1 and Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah Elijah say let the gods do to me and more also if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time now let's stop here for a moment let's just stop here for a moment I could pray 58 words and call fire down from heaven surely I can pray 25 words and take the head of Jezebel off I don't get some of this so I read something so I mean I call fire down from heaven I can look 850 false prophets in the face and call them out but one little woman doesn't even come into my presence he sends a messenger to tell me about this time tomorrow that I'm going to be dead verse 3 and when he saw that he arose and went for his life and came to birth Sheba which belongeth to Judah and left his servant there I want to show you a mistake I believe that was made I want to ask you something after he lied you did a most notable task pray 58 words brought fire down prayed again and brought the rain after a drought of three and a half years can I ask you where is Israel to thank him where is the nation of Israel you can read it you don't read where people came up and slapped him on the back and said thank God somebody's finally come around you see sometimes we need to encourage one another in the Lord God knows the devil is beating us down enough we need to courage one another in the Lord we need to tell somebody miss you're doing good man I think you do I hope brother I hope for the hot shower has 200 people today to kill him brother hot shower we're proud of you you got that like you see that man walk down here in front of everybody this morning and has to be baptized in Jesus name I just I just think that sometimes we may be able to fight Jezebel if I just have some of my brother's coming up and saying stay in there man that's a good thing you're doing I really like to see you in the altar I wonder if we can change some behavior if we would start bragging it may not be what we want it may not be exactly what we want but if I can brag on you when you're doing a - maybe I can see you do a five and if I can brag on you when you're doing five maybe you'll do a ten I wish somebody just helps me praising good night let's encourage one another let's encourage one another Jezebel's coming tomorrow all of Hell's discouragements coming tomorrow maybe I can face Jezebel if a brother or sister comes up and says I'm proud of ya you're doing a good job keep give keep on going over keep on good I purposely brag on my student section here you'll be a fool of a pastor not to brag on your student section yeah but you've heard what I've heard yeah I've heard what you've heard but I also know that just telling them how lousy they are and how messed up they are is only going to call it cause them to live down to what I'm preaching I'm preaching before I'm preaching the future missionaries I'm preaching the young men and young women of God I'm preaching the young men and young women God's gonna come down and God's going to put a callin on their life and it does not yet appear what these young people shall be they're going to be world changers we're gonna set one day you're some of us are gonna walk in with walkers one day and here's some of these young men and young women tale about turning the world upside down I believe come on won't you put your hand on somebody right now it'll give you courage Oh in the name of Jesus just occurrence I'm other day and I said to her I said you are a great example to us you're a woman oh I love the hired Sam I say men I said you're a woman of a great example right now she kind of looked at me like you talking to me you better believe I'm talking to you sister Widener because there's a lot of people that sometimes they get Social Security age and they check out from church they don't want to check you out from the workplace they check out from the church house somehow they get in their mind they don't have to go to church anymore they don't have to live for God and then they got to they've served their years thank God for some white headed saints of God that are coming on it some of them are Walters some of them on crutches are making their way into the house thank you thank you for every man that is falling the gun back up and he's in this race tonight thank you for every woman that is fallen but it's not back up thank you thank you I like it for the prayer Thank You Elijah for the rain maybe I should run through a troop and leap over a wall if somebody will encourage me you won't find one burst brother step you'd think after three and a half years of no rain and no crops somebody would said thank you but they didn't and they set him up for Jezebel every unappreciated Saint is a target for hell every unappreciated Saint is a target for hell so if every unappreciated young person in st. is the target of hell I want to make sure that nobody goes home tonight without feeling like they're special and that God hasn't calling for them and you listened I feel I really do feel a product fetish spirit on me right now I didn't say apathetic spirit I said on prophetic spirit I feel a prophetic spirit on me right now you hear the self the word of the Lord there's not a man woman boy and girl in this congregation tonight or watching by the World Wide Web that God has given up on you saith the Lord there's not a person that has seen so much that has made the blood of Jesus of no effect there's not a man woman boy or girl ha ha ha ha there's not a man boy or girl that's outside of the arm and the hand of safety tonight you hear me when Jezebel comes for you in the morning you slam the door in her face and tell her I am appreciated sorry but I gotta dance just a moment sorry but I got a worship just a moment come on sing again lady come on sing again woman I don't believe Sister Grider would mind me saying this but the enemy had her in such a shape the enemy had stolen her soul but her husband made their way to first Apostolic Church where we don't run spiritual credit checks on people when they walk into these doors we look at them through the eyes of a brand new day and because somebody was looking at them through the eyes of God's gonna give you your song back you were blessed tonight with the woman stepping out here and beginning to sing the songs of joy come on help me crazy drain is the Lord and greatly to be praised I don't think people backslide because of marijuana I don't think people backslide because of beer I don't think people backslide because of the standards I believe the number one thing that causes a backslider is they begin to feel all alone and when they're all alone the devil begins to come to them but somehow the small groups in 2020 he's going to shake the mouth of the adversary we're gonna grow God's gonna add to our number one woman one stinking what Bible said when he saw that he rose the wind for his life and look at the mistakes he begin to make can anybody point out a mistake in chapter verse number three see when the devil gets you on the run you start making more mistakes the first mistake you made was running but he gets you on the run you start making other mistakes how many sees another mistake he made what was it left to servant he at least had somebody help him don't leave your servant this year I feel how loud Jezebel gets don't leave your servant don't leave somebody that's got a word from the Lord for you you have to serve it there but he himself what a day's journey into the wilderness and came and said under a juniper tree and he requested for himself that he might die and he said it is enough now it is enough no God never called any of us to say it is enough he has called us to say it is finished it is finished I've made up my mind it is enough I've had enough I want to die take away my life I'm not better than my father's he lay and slept under a juniper tree and behold the angel touched him and said unto Him arise anew he looked and behold there was a cake baking of Cole's cruse of water at his head and he didn't eat and drink and lay down lay him down again the angel of the Lord came the second time touched him said arise and eat because the journey is too great for thee I promise I'm going to stay long right here sometimes we think it's spiritual issues when we need to take care of our what this man needed was a good meal and some rest don't make major decisions sometimes we're praying for people's spirits when we need to learn how to take care of our bodies all of us need some rest I said Bible says yeah I know it's quite the Bible says the Bible says in verse 9 he came thither into cave and he lodged there behold the word of the Lord came unto him and said unto Him what doest thou here Elijah what are you doing here he said I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant throw down thine altars and slain thy prophets with the sword and I even I only am left and they seek my life to take it away wait a minute do you know that being alone the devil can turn facts around in your mind he says God your people are killing the prophets but first kings 18 and 40 the truth is Elijah said unto them the children of Israel take the profits of Balaam that not one of them escaped and they took them and Elijah brought them down to the brook Keshawn and slew them there it's an amazing when you're all alone use your facts turned around ain't nobody living for God well the biggest things the enemy will try and a youth group or in the church I'm the only one living for God you better be careful when you get the mentality you're the only one the only one in this church living I'm the only one in this church your tech you're publicly testifying that you're about to take the fatal blow of loneliness I'm the only one serving you God God took him on a little journey through earthquakes and fires and then at the end in first Kings 19 and 18 God's done told him it's not over you've got Kings to anoint you've got another prophet to lay your mantle upon but God had a PS for him PS Elisha yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel all the which all the needs which have not bowed and to Bale and every mouth which have not kissed him in other words God was saying to Elisha you're not the only one there's seven more thousand that maybe God was saying if you'd go join a small group you'd understand there's some others that love God just like you God might have been saying hey you're out here thinking you're the only one and you're being discouraged here the only one I've got seven thousand that are just as spiritual as you are but you've got to get out of your little one-two-three group you've got to get out and you've got to begin to mingle with other people and you'll begin to see that there's others there that love God like you the wise man Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes chapter four verse number seven then I returned and saw vanity under the Sun he said I saw something that was absolutely vanity it had no profit to it there was no profit to this what is it there is one alone and there is not second yeah he hath neither child nor brother now the only way you can have either me without child or brother is one or two things number one if you're without child you've never married and if you're without a brother you're not in the family and he's simply saying this is a horrible sight because you've never married it's time we marry the church the Bible in Isaiah puts a blessing upon our children and says your sons and daughters shall marry the Oh Zion I don't want them to be long Rangers I don't want them to be all alone 2020 I want us to marry the church get in the family of God have a brother yet there is no end to all of his labor neither is his I satisfied with riches neither saith he for whom to our labor and bereaved my soul of good this is also vanity yay it is sorter male two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor for if they fall the one will lift up his fellow but woe to him that is alone when he followed he hath not another to help him up again if to lie together they have Heat but how can one be warm alone if one prevail against him two shall withstand him and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken I won't tell you why you need to be in a family a church and connected to a group because your emotions are up and your emotions are down we go through valleys and we cross mountains and sometimes when I'm in the deepest darkest Valley and I haven't seen the Sun Shine in a long time I need to be yoked up with a brother brother Richmond that's on top of a mountain smelling good fresh air that can reach down in the valley and say come on brother carpenter some good air up here stay in the race keep on climbing see when I'm down somebody can pull me up and when I'm up I can be looking down to help somebody to pull them I was down there I was down at the gym at the mall working out the other day a little and brother Ken garrison battling cancer came up and I see brother Ken about every time I go in there he came over to me and he stretched out the conversation this way he comes home he comes mainly on Wednesday nights Ken starts the conversation out like this he says you know Shawn Emmons is a good man yeah he is a good man Ken he is a good man he said you know he encourages me he'll come up and ask me how I'm doing now do you know why brother Hammonds is connected to Ken because well the Hammonds just went through what Ken's going through and it's a mark of spiritual maturity when you go through something and you master it or you get the victory you don't want the sweat off your brow and forget about everybody else you become very sensitive about others that are around now I can go up to Ken and I could say Ken God's going to help you God's going to heal you but I've never had cancer I don't know what it's like to hear the doctor talk about the blood levels in the the cancer levels going up and all that but take a man that has been there he walks up and he begins to say ken I want you to know God's got there I want you to know this and I want you to know that that's why we need to get connected as never before because if we're all alone what's going to happen it was a story came out in Reader's Digest a few years ago it was a story of a family a family of four in California that on a Saturday afternoon decided they would take their car and they would go out into into the desert and there they would have a picnic and explore the desert out out in the there in California but they didn't take a cellphone with them tired of answering the cell phone tired of all that let's just all alone go well it would have been a perfect family day with one exception they drove way out into the desert off the beaten path and their car broke down for days they were out there in the hot heat of the day and in the Sun in that the freezing at night the father knew a little bit about how to survive and they even begin to take their own urine and filter it for drinking water nobody came looking for them because they were a family that was known sister Sheila to stay to themselves they weren't connected to anybody they didn't attend regular a church there was nobody a church that would say they're missing they wasn't even really connected in their apartment complex even on their job they weren't connected so when days went by finally someone said something's wrong and a park ranger accidentally came up on them their children within hours of death and you know why because they were all alone nobody to check on them you need people in your life we need people in our lives that can speak to us we need people that can come up to us and put their hand on our shoulder and say are you doing okay is everything okay you need people like that in your life you need people when you're down and that you listen you're doubting things and you're low and things are not working out and all of us here me Church here me Church it's not all Sunday night camp meeting it's not all gifts of the Spirit operating it's not all giving the unexpected ten thousand dollar check in the mail it's not all giving the two dollars 50 cent raise on Monday there's some times we go through season when it's the pitch dark night and we can't understand we're doing right but ever the bottoms falling out but it's in those times that God has you connected to somebody that says help let me help you stay in this thing you know God's never left us you know God will be right there with us come on let's keep praising God let's go to the prayer room let me just kind of bring this to a close to give you my opinion on some of these scriptures I'll tell you if it's my opinion mark two and three says and they come unto Jesus bringing one sick of the palsy which was borne of four for people carried this one man I'm gonna stop and pause about that for a minute could you get four people to carry you to Jesus if there was one in town that could do anything needed to be done could you find for selfless friends to get you to Jesus but the Jeremy I want and this is where this is where I come in I'm gonna have this I wonder if before that man got sick of the palsy if he hadn't been a good friend I just want a nice and I can't prove this don't ask anybody to prove it and I'm not gonna get to heaven and God's gonna say to me departed to outer darkness you preached up a wedding in the book but I think there's a principle here do you know you get out of life what you put in it do you know you get out of this church what you put in it you put your life in this church you get life out of this church sometimes it's easy for people to walk away so I don't know how they walk away I know how they walk away they don't have nothing in it when you have nothing in it it's just easy to - it's just easier to pop them up and take your folding chair down the road and start another church somewhere who you didn't have anything in this one but when you put something in something in hell begins to mess with your life you don't think about leaving because I got something in this thing here I got something in there I got something in this thing I got some memories here I've seen some people baptized I've seen some people get the Holy Ghost weird airing that Marion would you stand right now near it since they just keep standing till I get through talking about you boy come in here had him a what they call that a mullet they call that a mullet then what they call it is that what you do when you play golf what is that well he had hair down his back he had all kind of metal through his tongues and all kind of metal all over him but death Lord started coming to church and in a revival God baptized remember Holy Ghost and in a revival he got baptized in Jesus name and you know what happened I begin to watch you to get connected to other young people other young people begin to surround it Tyler our would other young people begin to surround it and it wasn't long that boy walked in and he's got him a haircut anyone long that boy can come in and Pete had some surgery throwing some of these nails out of his head and he wasn't long he was getting the choir handbook any wasn't long come on come on I'm telling you tonight he didn't get that all myself he got connected to something keeps anybody upset down you keep standing Derry singing the choir working the kitchen doble grounds right got elected we got a group here Azusa Street riders got elected the president of our chapter here in Maryville a young man that we give him due respect but can I tell you what changed him tonight he got connected to something and something got connected to him and here stands a young man tonight that's got his head on straight hell had a lot of plans for him but we destroyed the plans of hell and Garriott your future is bright my son his bride and my helping the small groups out I just don't think that he just got sick of the palsy and said I need four people to take me to Jesus I think that he had probably mowed a few yards I think he probably heard of a few people sick and went down and took care of their house a little bit maybe he heard of a brother having chariot trouble maybe he heard of a brother that had been sick you see the people that find themself carried before is the people that's made a lot of investments I don't know about you God you all know this is a truth I'm gonna show mercy to every person in this church I'm gonna she said a little family moved into the village and didn't look like they had good clothes where she was known to knit him some clothes and take him down she was known for good words well the Bible said she died she died and they gathered at the funeral and they brought all them coats there but you know what happened one of the attendees at the funeral did you know what I heard that the Apostle believe that just the shadow of Peter walkin by one of them women standing there with a coat maybe a baby bonnet maybe maybe maybe maybe an address that that dorcas has made somebody said well go get Peter and then went and got Peter and when Peter came to the funeral he walked up to the casket took Dorcas by the hand and lifted her up and the funeral service turned into a resurrection service and
