Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The texts: a child born, a Son given — God with us
- Tonight's installment of the series deals with the dual nature of Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ both God and man.
- "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" — the child born and the son given are the man; the Mighty God and the Everlasting Father are God; that one man is both man and God.
- "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel."
- Matthew gives the interpretation of Emmanuel: "God with us." When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, they did not look at that baby in the manger and see a second person of a godhead; they knew that baby was Elohim, Jehovah, the one and only Almighty God in Christ.
Scriptures: Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22-23
First, love the one God
- Asked which is the great commandment in the law, Jesus answered: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
- Before we were born again we loved a lot of things that were not good for us; since we found God and began to love him with all our heart, soul, and mind, there has been a change — we are better people, with better marriages, better families, and a better church, because we are loving the right thing.
- You really cannot love people the way they need to be loved if you do not first love God; love the one God, and it makes a better person out of you, and then a better world around you. Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord.
Scriptures: Matthew 22:36-40; Deuteronomy 6:4
"He that hath seen me hath seen the Father"
- "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." Philip said, "Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us," and Jesus answered: "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father... Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
- "I and my Father are one." You cannot get humanity and deity together any plainer than that.
Scriptures: John 14:7-10; John 10:30
Mary's son — and the only begotten Son of God
- After Jesus preached, the people of his hometown said: "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joseph and of Judah and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him." On the human side they were correct: he is Mary's son.
- But hear Jesus: he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. They were also correct that he is the Son of God — the only begotten of the Father. Both are true: the dual nature of Jesus Christ.
Scriptures: Mark 6:3; John 3:18
The mystery of godliness
- "Great is the mystery of godliness" — godlikeness: "God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." Who was that? That was Jesus — that was God.
- If you do not get an understanding of the dual nature, you will stumble all through the Bible: when you hear Jesus pray, you will think he has to be praying to somebody else. He is — he is a man praying to God. But if he were only a part of God, you would have one God praying to another God, and the answer given is usually just that it is a mystery; God has informed us through his word what the mystery is.
- You will never understand outward holiness, or the distinction of the sexes in dress, if you do not understand that God made a man and God made a woman — he made male and female, and he has not changed.
Scriptures: 1 Timothy 3:16
His glory, not given to another
- "I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."
- Yet hear the man Christ Jesus pray in John 17: "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one." God did not give his glory to another — God took his glory by way of his Spirit into the womb of Mary, and when Mary conceived and Jesus was born, Jehovah was inside the body of the man Christ Jesus, and he had his glory.
- "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." God said, I will not give it to anybody else, but I will wrap it up in flesh and bring it to this earth.
Scriptures: Isaiah 42:8; John 17:22; John 1:14
Glory shining through the man
- The first miracle — turning water into wine — began his miracles and manifested forth his glory. It was not a man that turned water into wine, not a man that caused deaf ears to hear, blinded eyes to see, walked on the water, or called a dead man out of a tomb: it was the Lord of glory shining his glory through the flesh. The miracle-working power in Jesus Christ was not human but divine.
- Jesus is "the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature."
- Glory is connected with light all through the word: "the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory"; there is no sun or moon in heaven because the Lamb is the light thereof; "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
- Christ will in his times show who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, "who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto" — and God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts "to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." You cannot see the glory of God outside the man Christ Jesus, and God did not want to be a God you could not see.
- On the mount of transfiguration, Jesus took Peter, James, and John up into a high mountain, "and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light" — not a glorious light shining down on him, but the radiant glory of God shining out through his humanity.
Scriptures: Colossians 1:15; Isaiah 60:19; 1 John 1:5; 1 Timothy 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Matthew 17:1-2
Why flesh? Blood for atonement
- Why did God take on human flesh? God is a Spirit, and a Spirit does not have flesh and bones, nor blood — God had glory and power, but God did not have blood. Yet innocent blood was essential for the redemption of the fallen, and only a kinsman redeemer could redeem us.
- "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." Atonement breaks down as at-one-ment: it was never God's will for us to be separated; the blood brings us back to one with him. God wants to love you more than you want to be loved — we are not chasing God; God is chasing us.
- As the high priest laid aside his glorious garments on the day of atonement and wore the ordinary garment, so God did not come in splendor: he robed himself in common flesh, born in a humble manger to common people, and the world did not recognize him — most people would not recognize the preacher himself in a ball cap and sunglasses at the store.
Scriptures: Leviticus 17:11
The kinsman redeemer with the right blood
- God's plan stood written beforehand: if a brother waxed poor and sold himself to a stranger, "after that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him: either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him."
- "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." Adam and Eve sold us into the slavery of sin, and every man after Adam had blood contaminated with sin — no man had the right blood. But Jesus may have got his flesh from his mother; he got his blood from his Father.
- We were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold, nor by any ritual, statue, candle, amount of money, or good behavior — "but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot," who was foreordained before the foundation of the world but manifest in these last times for us. What good would repentance, water baptism, or even the Holy Ghost do if there were no blood?
Scriptures: Leviticus 25:47-49; Romans 7:14; 1 Peter 1:18-21
The cry from the cross — and the what-ifs
- People point to the cross and ask who Jesus was crying to: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Mark records that at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Elo, Elo, Lama Sabathani" — but every time Jesus prayed, it was not God praying to another God; it was the man, humanity praying — the humanity of Jesus crying out as he made himself the offering for sin.
- The what-ifs: if there had not been a Son born in Bethlehem, there would never have been a church born at Pentecost, no Calvary, no precious blood shed for our sins, and we would still be in the slavery of sin, lost and on our way to a devil's hell. God did not have a back they could beat — but because he took on a body, they laid stripes upon that back, and by his stripes we are healed.
- As a Spirit, God could not be conceived, born, grow, eat, sleep, cry, be tempted, be beaten, be nailed to a cross, thirst, die, or be buried — you cannot nail Spirit to a cross. But since God went into the womb and wrapped his glory in flesh, he could walk the roads of Galilee, let a leper touch him, and let his power emanate from him. Thank God tonight for the wonderful plan of salvation.

let's continue tonight on our series why we believe why we believe what we believe and tonight we will be dealing with the Dual nature we'll be dealing with the Dual nature of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ both God and man if you have your Bibles join me in the book of Isaiah chapter n Isaiah chapter 9 and verse number six a very familiar passage but it preaches beautifully the Dual nature of Jesus Christ For unto us a child is born unto us a son is given the government shall be upon his shoulder his name Shall be Called wonderful counselor the Mighty God the Mighty God the Everlasting father the Prince of Peace Isaiah chapter 7 and verse number 14 Isaiah chap 7 verse1 14 therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel well Matthew 1 verse 22 Matthew 1 and 22 now all of this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying Behold a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and they shall call his name Emmanuel which being interpreted is God With Us why we believe what we believe the Dual nature of Jesus Christ father for the next few moments Lord would you anoint my mouth and my mind God would I that I would be able to feed your sheep Lord that there would be Revelation brought through your word tonight Lord I pray that you would use me as an oracle and God that you would open the hearts and the minds of people tonight on the Dual nature the Dual nature of Jesus Christ amen and amen you may be seated why we believe what we believe please understand tonight that this subject of the Dual nature of Jesus Christ is of the utmost of foundational foundational uh importance Jesus was asked and I I didn't give you these verses tonight I felt in the prayer room uh to to bring these to our attention and but the Book of Matthew chapter 22 and verse number 36 they asked him Master which is the great commandment in the law now we know that Mark added to that the first and the great great commandment Jesus said unto him Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart with all thy soul and with all thy mind this is the first and the great commandment now you know as well as I do that before we were born again before we became Christians that we loved a lot of things that were not good for us we loved a lot of things and we did a lot of things that were not good for us weren't healthy for us uh wasn't good for us mentally physically and all around wasn't good for our family wasn't good for us as individuals and wasn't good for us as families but once we found God once we embraced him and we begin brother able to love him with all our hearts all our soul and all our mind hasn't there been a change since we've been loving the right thing tonight we're loving the right thing we're loving the the right thing he he's never done he's never done us nothing but good never done us nothing but good and so we're better people tonight we're better people tonight because we love God we're better people we're better off we're better off we're better people better better people individually better marriages better families a better Church church because we love God we're we're just better we're just better and he he said um in verse 38 this is the first and the great commandment this is the first one and the second is lik UN to it Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself now follow me on this tonight it's not just uh it's not just an ordinary uh uh uh Doctrine one God when you believe there's one God and you begin to worship that one God and love that one God God with all your heart soul mind and strength then you're able to really love your neighbor the way that you ought to love your neighbor as a matter of fact you really can't love people you really can't love people the way they need to be loved if you don't first love God but when you love God the way that you should love God then it makes you better to reach out and to love other people the other people around you so I think about this with me now when we believe there's one God and we love that one God with all our heart soul mind and strength it makes a better person out of us and then we're able to turn around and we're able to love our neighbor as ourself and that makes a better world that is around us now this doctrine of the one God doesn't seem like something that really you know is it really all that important for you to teach a lesson on it well I believe it is I believe it is and I believe you're seeing that it is now that's verse 39 let's read 39 again and the second is liken to it Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself watch Jesus now verse 40 on these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets he said now you need to get these two you need to get these two down you need to get this love God here oh Israel the Lord our God is one and you're to love him with all your heart soul mind and strength and then the second you're to love your neighbor as yourself and then he said upon these two hang all the rest of the Commandments in other words what he's saying if we don't have these two there's nothing to else to hang on to there there's nothing else that we can that we can hang on if we don't have these two well this one God this one God manifested himself in In the Flesh we know we see the Dual nature now what I mean by the Dual nature of Christ he was fully man he was fully man and he was fully God he was fully man and he's fully God now think with me tonight he is fully man that was begotten in the womb of Mary he is fully God who is eternal now the God and there's a lot of people everybody just about all of Christianity will say well sure Jesus Is God but here's where a lot of them get off track they believe that he is just a part of the godhead this is where the Bible differs this is where this is why we believe what we believe when we say the Dual nature of Jesus Christ he's both God in man we're not saying that he's fully man and he's the second person of the godhead that was all that that first second and third person of the godhead was all a later development hundreds of years later a later development of religion dissected the one God of the Bible into three separate and distinct persons of which the Bible gives absolutely no Foundation to first second and third persons that it is not there it is simply not there so when we say that we believe the Dual nature of Jesus Christ he is both man and God we mean that he is the one God of Deuteronomy 6 and4 here o Israel the Lord our God is one we believe that Jesus Christ is the Jehovah the God part is the Jehovah of the New Testament that overshadowed a a virgin in the and the Old Testament overshadowed a virgin in the New Testament and Jesus Christ is both God and he is Jehovah he is God he is both man and he is God Isaiah said For unto us chapter 9 verse 6 For unto us a child is born that's man a son is given that's man the government shall be upon his shoulder that's man his name Shall be Called wonderful k counselor the Mighty God the Everlasting father the Prince of Peace that's God that one man is both man and God Isaiah 7:14 again therefore the Lord himself that's deity the Lord himself shall give you a sign Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son flesh and his name Shall be Called Emmanuel and Matthew gives us the interpretation of Emmanuel and the interpretation of Emmanuel is God With Us when Jesus was born in Bethlehem they said this is God With Us and at that time the doctrine of the Trinity that came about by religion two to three hund years later had not even had not even come into existence so they didn't look at that baby in the manger and say that's the second person of the godhead they knew that that baby in the manger was Elohim he was Jehovah he was the one and the only the almighty God in Christ in Christ Jesus now in John chapter 14 and 7 Jesus spoke to his disciples and he said if you had known me John 14:7 if you had known me you should have known my father also and from henceforth you know him and have seen him Philip saith unto him Lord show us the father and it saith us Jesus saith unto him have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me Phillip he that has seen me he that has seen me hath seen the father how sayest thou then show us the father believest thou not that I am in the father look at this humanity and deity at work here believest thou not that I am in the father and the father in me the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me he doeth The Works look at the humanity and the deity that is in Christ Jesus he said how do you ask show us the father have I been so long time with you that you don't know me he that has seen me has seen the father further proof of this is in John chapter 10 and verse number 30 John chapter 10 you really can't get any planer than humanity and deity in the person of Christ Jesus John 10 and verse number 30 Jesus said I and my father are one you can't get any more of of humanity and deity together than John 10:30 but let's go further to prove humanity and deity Mark chapter 6 and verse number three here's what the people said about Jesus Christ after he preached the wonderful message this is what they had to say they said in Mark 6 and3 is not this the carpenter the son of Mary the brother of James and Joseph and of Judah and Simon are not his sisters here with us and they were offended at him who did they say Christ was the son of Mary they're correct they're partially correct for Jesus Christ was the son of Mary but listen to Jesus in John chapter 3 and verse number 18 listen to Jesus now he that believeth on him speaking of himself is not condemned because he believeth not because he believeth not is condemned already but but he that believeth not excuse me is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God is his Mar son on The Human Side they're correct he is Mary's son is he the Son of God they're correct because he is the only begotten of the father so they're both correct the Dual nature the Dual nature of Jesus Christ now you you you might be sitting here tonight and you might be thinking now brother Carpenter exactly why are you going over this because if we don't get a understanding of the Dual nature of Jesus Christ you will not understand the godhead you will if you don't understand the Dual name nature and when we say he's both God and man when we say God we're not referring neither does the bible this is why we believe what we believe is the Bible referring to the second person of the godhead he is fully God he is Jehovah of the Old Testament he is the one God that Moses said that we were to worship but this one God is in the body of the man Christ Jesus that was begotten at Bethlehem from the womb of Mary if we don't have a good understanding of the Dual nature of Jesus Christ you will stumble All Through the Bible when you hear Jesus pray you'll come up well he's praying he's got to be praying to somebody he's got to be praying to somebody well he is he is a man praying to God or if you believe that he's just he's just a part of God then you have a a you you know I I'm out for conclusions not confusion all right because if you don't believe he's both man and almighty God then when Jesus is praying you have one God praying to another God and and and we know it's supposed to be according to the doctrine co-equal co-eternal and there's a lot of confusion that has to be written off and and a lot of times they just have to say well we know that we we really don't have a good answer for this and it's just simply a mystery you'll hear a lot of people just simply say it's just simply it's just simply a mystery it is a mystery but God in God has informed us through his word what the mystery is first Timothy chapter 3:1 16 great is the mystery of godliness and that word there means godlikeness great is the mystery of God likeness tell us about it God was manifested in the flesh seen of angels preached un the Gentiles believed on in this world and received up into Glory who was that well that was Jesus who was that well that was that was God so it it it it's a mystery if you if you don't have a good understanding of the Dual nature of Jesus Christ and I'll tell you something else you will never understand understand outward Holiness on a man and a woman if you don't understand the distinction of the Sexes if you don't understand that God made a man and God made a woman you won't understand the distinction of dress you it just won't it just won't make any sense to you but once you understand that God made a man and God made a woman and I know the world's tripping out over this right now but it it's it's still the truth amen uh God made male and female and he's not changed anywhere all right and that's what we believe and let me tell you what I know I'm getting off my subjects but that's why we believe what we believe all right we're not a bunch of lame brained religious Fanatics we believe God made man and woman because well that's what the Bible that's what the Bible says let me quickly get back to my subject matter tonight let's uh I want to talk to you about God's glory for a moment I want to talk to you about God 's glory for a moment and um I will um let's just read uh Isaiah chapter 42 and verse number 8 Isaiah chapter 42 and verse number8 listen to the Lord I am the Lord that is my name and my glory everybody say my glory and my glory will I not give to to another neither my praise to graven images he says I am the Lord and that's my name and my glory my glory say that again with me my glory my glory I will not give it to another I'm not giv my glory I'm not giv my glory to any other I'm not giv my glory to any other now just hang on to that and turn to John chapter 17 verse number 22 and listen and listen to the man Christ Jesus as he prays that great prayer in John 17:22 listen to the man Christ Jesus and the glory which thou gavest me I have given them that they may be one even as we are one can I tell you God God did not give his glory to another but God took his glory by way of his Spirit into a womb of Mary and when Mary conceived and Jesus was born Jehovah was inside of the body of the man Christ Jesus and guess what he had he had his glory watch watch this in John 1:14 and the word word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his what we beheld his what the glory as the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth can I tell you God said I won't give my glory to any other but God robed his glory god his Spirit his glory into the womb of Mary and from that womb came the son of man and the Son of God but God had his glory god had his glory wrapped up in flesh he said I won't give it to anybody else but I'll wrap it up in flesh and I'll bring it to this earth and I will let my glory shine through that flesh you remember with me tonight the first miracle that Jesus did what was it turning water into wine he took H2O and instantly turned it into wine and then the Bible says this is the first miracle that he be to show forth his glory it wasn't a man that turned H2O into wine it wasn't a man that caused the deaf ears to hear it wasn't a man that caused blinded eyes to see it wasn't wasn't a man that walked on the water it wasn't a man that called a dead man out of a tomb I'm going to tell you who it was it was The Lord Of Glory he begin to he begin to shine his he begin to shine his glory the word Glory the word Glory means to Adorn or clothed with Glory Splendor luster celebrating the value or nature of someone or something when God stepped into the body of Jesus Christ he adorned or clothed that person with his glory the glory of God is the Revelation and the manifestation of all that he was and he is God's glory is brought to light and manifested through the man Christ Jesus Through The Man Christ Jesus let me share this with you the the man Christ Jesus who is the man Christ Jesus Colossians chap 1 and verse number 15 reads like this Jesus who is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of every creature can I tell you that the miracle working power that was in Jesus Christ was not human but it was divine and it was the glory it was the glory of God go with me I know I'm reading a lot of scripture but don't you believe that our Doctrine ought to have a lot of scripture to it don't you believe it ought to have a lot of scripture to it matter of fact don't ever discuss a point with anybody that don't want to talk about scripture I remember my pastor telling a story about his Barber wanting to talk to him about the godhead and he be Pastor M began to talk to him about the godhead and the barber just spoke up and said no no no no I want to know what you think not the Bible but it don't matter what we think right it don't matter what you think it doesn't matter what I you you know what what we think is like noses on our faces it's like the cars that we drive they're all a little bit different right but oh when you go to the Bible it's not open for interpretation it just speaks what it means it just says what it says it fits together like a hand up in a glove don't try to twist it don't take your belief to the Bible and try to twist the Bible to prove your belief go to the Bible and get your belief and then go tell everybody that you know that you found a wonderful Revelation in the Bible I'm going to tell you this one God preaching will make a better person out of you this one God preaching will make a better man make a better woman out of you it it it will it will it will it will it'll make a better person out of you or read with me tonight look look look with me this evening in Isaiah in Isaiah chapter 60 we're talking about Glory here and now he said I won't give my glory to another but he took it to the womb and wrapped it up in flesh Isaiah chapter 60 Isaiah chapter 60 and verse number 19 he says the sun shall shall be no more thy light by day neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee but the Lord Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting life and thy God thy Glory now this is interesting because we read several times where glory is connected to light glory is connected to light he said he will be the Everlasting Light and thy God thy Glory as a matter of fact we're told when we get to heaven when we get to heaven there's no no sun in heaven there's no sun like we have down here on Earth there's no sun or moon and it gives the reason why for the lamb for the lamb is a what is a light oh I I I feel my help coming on tonight amen I I I feel my help coming on the glory just just notice with me just notice just just notice with me tonight how glory and light are connected first John first John John 1 verse 5 now not the Gospel of John but the Epistle of John 1 John 1 and verse number five he says then this then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you now they're saying this is what we received and this is what we declare that God is what light and in him is no darkness is no Darkness at all oh God is God is light and in him is no Darkness at all now just follow that glory and light with me f f follow it now 1 Timothy chapter 6 and verse number 14 1 Timothy 6:14 glory and light that thou keep this commandment without spot unrebuked unto the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ the Lord Jesus Christ is the subject matter here which in his times whose times Jesus Christ which in his times he shall sh or show who is the blessed and only potentate the King of Kings and the Lord of lords Jesus Christ is going to show this verse 16 who only hath immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto whom no man hath seen seen nor can see to whom be honor and power Everlasting amen I won't give my glory brother Yates to another that's what the Old Testament Jehovah said I won't give my glory to another but in the New Testament god of the Old Testament wrapped his glory up in flesh and begin to let his glory shine from the man christes Jesus Oh Hallelujah second Corinthians chapter 4 I believe this brings this plainly to light 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse number six for God who commanded the light to shine out of Darkness hath shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory look at this folks of the glory of God where are we going to find the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ you want to see what you couldn't see unless it took on flesh you can't see the glory of God outside of the man Christ Jesus because he dwells in a light that no man can approach unto and do you know God knew that and God wanted you to see that God didn't want to be a God that you couldn't see his goodness and his power so God robed his glory up in flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld him you want to see the glory of God it's in the face of Jesus Christ I believe tonight that what happened on the mount called Transfiguration when Jesus Took Peter James and John to a mountain and there Jesus begin to pray and something happened I believe that it was the glory of God not shining down on him but shining out of him look at Matthew 7 excuse me Matthew chapter 17 Matthew chapter 17 and verse number one after six days after six days Jesus taketh Peter James and John his brother and his his brother and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart and was transfigured before them the word transfigured there means to change into another form to transform or transfigure to change into another form and was transfigured before them his face did shine as the sun and his reignment was white as the light I don't believe that it was a glorious light shining down on him but it was the glory that he said I won't give to another another but I'll wrap it up in flesh and I'll put it on display down here on Earth I believe they saw the radiant glory of God shining through the humanity of Jesus Christ now we need to ask ourselves a question tonight why did God take on human flesh that's a good question why why did God take on why did he take on tonight why did he take on human flesh and I'm gonna give you two reasons if You' like to write them down God is a spirit and a spirit does not have Flesh and Bones nor blood and it is essential that blood innocent blood would be shed given for the Redemption of the Fallen there had to be blood and I I know I I know you may think I'm Blasphemous tonight but God didn't have blood God didn't have blood God had glory god had power but God didn't have blood but that's all right that's all right God may have not had blood but God had a plan there's two things needful there two things needful blood is necessary to purge us of our sins and we could only the blood had to come the blood had to come from a a Kinsman only a kinsman redeemer only only a kinsman redeemer could redeem us now why is it blood Leviticus this is what God wrote he wrote this when he didn't have the blood uh Leviticus chapter 17 verse 11 y'all still with me tonight you're just quiet because you're Spellbound right all right thank you I'll give you some coffee after church Leviticus 17 listen to God for the life of the flesh is in the blood and I I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for your soul you see at this time man was separated from God happened in the Garden of Eden happened when our our first parent parents Adam and Eve sold us out they sold us into bondage they sold Us by Disobedience into bondage they sold us out and from that time we were in from that time we were estranged from God we were separated from God but God said I'll I I'll I'll I'll make a a ritual in the law where you can take the blood of a bulock or a BL blood of a goat or a lamb and you can shed that blood on an altar and sprinkle it on a mercy seat and I'll let it be atonement atonement it'll be an atonement for you you know that's a simple word to break down and find the meaning Find the meaning of it search out a t at the next three letters are o n e One and the next next four is m n t mint and so what atonement is the blood brings at one me I'm meant to be one with you it was never my will for us to be separated it was never my will for Adam and Eve to disobey it was never my will for me to withdraw myself from you it was never my will but God said I've got some blood I've got a plan on the way and when the plan comes it's going to put at onement God wants to be one with us matter of fact let me just inform us all God wants to love you more than you want to be loved a man a man years ago and I'm not throwing off on the book please I'm not throwing off on the book and if he's listening I I love you bro but I'm not throwing off on the book but the book was called God Chasers all right but I got news for you we're not chasing God God is chasing us if you only knew how bad God wants to have a relationship with you he left Glory he left heaven and he came to this earth matter of fact I I'll show this to you the high priest had glorious garments the the Bible said there were garments for beauty they were the for for Glory the garments that the high priest were was a garment of glory and Beauty but on the day of atonement on the day that the high priest was to go into the holiest of holies and sprinkle The Blood On The Mercy Seat that day God said don't you wear your glorious garments but you put on a ordinary Garment of a priest don't put on your or don't don't don't you wear your glorious garments but you wear ordinary garments that's exactly what God did when God left heaven when God brought his glory Out of Heaven he he he he didn't come in splendor and power and all of that you would think but he robed himself in common common clothes and guess what they didn't recognize him that they didn't recognize him in common clothes had had he come shaking the mountains they would have said that's God had he come causing fire to come on the mountain they would say that's God but he was born in a little humble manger he was born to to to commoners and the world couldn't recognize him matter of fact they didn't they they kind of got a glimpse of him when he was 12 years old and he was astounding the rabbis in the temple but oh boy didn't I begin to recognize him when he turned 30 years old and he be to teach and he be to do Miracles but they still couldn't recognize him they said is this not the carpenter is this not Mary's son they just couldn't recogniz as a matter of fact most of you can recognize me in public you can recognize me in public if I got my suit and tie on but I stood right beside sister Ammon at Walmart in a ball cap and sunglasses and blue jeans and a t-shirt and hey dudes on my feet she never recognized me she never recognized she kind of looked over once and probably thought what's this weird guy looking over here what's what's he doing and it wasn't until I kind of gave a little way oh brother car she didn't recognize me but ain't the first time that that's happened God left heaven and robed himself for the purpose of atonement he robed him himself in flesh and the world he came oh I feel a scripture coming on he came into his own and his own received him not but to those that received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God aren't you glad you know who Jesus is tonight he's not the second person he's the first and he is the last he's not a part he is the almighty God he's the almighty God he's the almighty God I give you the blood for atonement now it took blood and it took a kinsman redeemer it took a kinsman redeemer Leviticus chapter 25 this is God's plan Leviticus chapter 25 verse number 47 can you say praise the Lord Leviticus 25 and verse 47 God said and if a Sojourner or stranger wax grows Rich by thee and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor now look at this he said if a complete stranger comes and starts living close to you and he he he he grows rich and you grow poor and sell himself unto the stranger or Sojourner by thee or to or to the stock of the stranger stranger's family you you you sell yourself to them after that he is sold he may be redeemed he may be redeemed again one of his Brethren May redeem him either his uncle or his uncle's son may redeem him or any that is not kin under him under his family may redeem him or if he be able he may redeem himself and I'm going to tell you there's two things we had to have to get our Salvation we had to have blood and we had to have a pure kinsman redeemer he had to have you see his blood had to be pure and you see there was no man whose blood was pure I don't care how good they may have been every man after Adam his blood was contaminated with sin he didn't have to the right DNA but oh thank God the Bible says in Romans chapter 5 or excuse me the Bible says in Romans chapter 7 and verse 14 for we know that the law is spiritual but I am carnal look at those next three words and say them with me sold under sin Adam and Eve sold us into the slavery of sin and the only way we can be redeemed the only way we can be redeemed is for a near kinsman redeemer that has the right blood that has the right blood that can redeem us and we know that that man Christ Jesus may have got his flesh from his mama but he got his blood from his father for it wasn't the blood of any ordinary it was precious blood amen it was Precious Blood that that that that that he had it was he was a spotless lamb that he had it was precious redeeming blood that he had he is our kinsman redeemer and he has the blood let me let me read let me just read you a little bit in 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 18 for as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers look if I could just break that down he would say you know that you wasn't redeemed with corruptible things you wasn't redeemed with silver and gold from the lifestyle that's been handed down from family to family to family we weren't Redeemed by any kind of ritual there's never been a statue that redeemed us there's never been a burnt candle that's redeemed us there's never been an amount of money that's redeemed us there's never been enough good behavior that's redeemed us the only thing that bought us and broke the family curse of sin was the Spotless blood well let me read it verse 19 but with the precious somebody say precious but with the precious somebody say precious but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without BL blemish and without spot who verily were for was for ordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you who by him do believe in God that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory that your Faith and Hope might be in God what faith would you have in Repentance if you didn't have the blood you might have a checkbook full of checks tonight but that don't mean you got any money what good is repentance if there be no blood what good is water baptism if there'd be no blood and you wouldn't even receive the Holy Ghost if there was no blood what good would it do to try to live for God even come on somebody even after conversion if there was no blood I got news for you tonight I'm so thankful that I was sold out under sin I needed blood and I needed a near kinsman redeemer and so 2,000 years ago a God that didn't have any blood and a God that was not a kinsman redeemer said I'm going to go down there I'm going to put my glory in the womb of the woman and when I am born I'll walk among them hey glory to God glory to God oh oh my God oh my God oh my God I love you Jesus down from your glory Splendor you robed yourself Lord I praise you tonight can I tell you if it ain't about Jesus it ain't about nothing if you're coming to the church as a social Gathering you're wasting your time if you're coming tonight waiting to hear a sermon that'll help you have a better marriage you're wasting your time we'll get to that but the most important thing is for you to know about the God God who robed himself in flesh doesn't that make you want to live for him God said I don't have blood right now I don't have a body right now I don't have something listen you can't nail Spirit to a cross you can't nail Spirit to a cross and God is a spirit and it was going to take a bloody Roman cross to bring us our salvation but God said that's all right I wrote that in the book I wrote In the book what it would take take when I didn't have what it would take but when it come time for me to do what I was going to do I came down and I took on a body that had blood and I was the near near near kinsman redeemer I was son of man I was fully flesh I was Son of God I was fully God oh hallelujah oh would you praise him with me tonight come on would you praise him with me tonight hallelujah oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah there was no body that God could nail to a cross till he became a man if the Jesus is a second person of the godhead why did he have to come out of a womb why couldn't he just walked out of a cave well that's that's ridiculous it sure is God didn't have a body and God I didn't have blood until the Incarnation at bethlehem's at bethlehem's manger somebody say praise the Lord Lord God could not answer the demand of the law which he had written because he is eternal and he is a spirit but he planted himself he planted himself into into the womb into the womb of a Woman by the name of Mary and he became he became he became what we needed many people have said from the cross Jesus cried out my God my God why hast Thou forsaken me and they they they they try to say see there he's crying out from the cross my God my God who's he crying who's he who's he crying to well I'm going to tell you the man every time Jesus prayed was not God praying it was the human pray now you got to get that in your mind when he prayed it wasn't one God praying to another it was Humanity praying as Jesus the man hung on the cross mark records at the ninth hour mark 1534 at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice saying Elo Elo Lama Sabathani which is to which is being interpreted my God my God why hast Thou forsaken why hast Thou forsaken me and the Bible answers that so that you would make yourself the offering so you would make yourself the offering for sin now let me let me I'm GNA try to bring this to conclusion but I want to go through a series of what ifs what ifs all right if there had been if there had not been a son born in Bethlehem there would never have been a church born at Pentecost if there had not been a son born at Bethlehem there would never have been Precious Blood to shed for our sins if there had not been a son born at Bethlehem we would not be here today if there had not been a son born at Bethlehem there would not have been a Calvary if there had not been a son born at Bethlehem redemption's price would not have been paid and we would still we would still be in the slavery of sin if there had not being a son born at Bethlehem we would be lost today and on our way to a devil's hell unless we appropriate the benefits purchased for us on Calvary there might as well never been a child born at Bethlehem we better take advantage of the child born at Bethlehem because the child was born at Bethlehem God didn't have a back that they could beat and since God didn't have a back that they could beat we would still be hopelessly lost when sickness comes our way but because God took on a body that they laid 39 Stripes upon that back praise be unto God tonight when we get sick we can claim our healing for by his stripes we are healed had God not become a man God could have never filled a vessel that would die and had that vessel never died we wouldn't have the hope of life after death thank God that he took on thank God that he took on that body now I know this may sound Blasphemous tonight but let me tell you what God could not God could not not be conceived in the womb of the Virgin God could not be conceived in the womb of a virgin God could not be born God could not grow God could not walk the roads of Galilee God could not eat God could not sleep God could not cry God could not be tempted God could not have his feet washed God could not be beaten God could not be nailed to a cross God could not thirst God could not die on Calvary God could not be buried in a tomb God could not resurrect from the dead God could not Ascend into heaven every eye would not will not see God they will only see Jesus face to face but since God went into the womb the flesh was conceived in the womb and he wrapped his glory up in flesh I know it's redundant but he wrapped his glory up in flesh and God could walk the roads of Galilee and God could step down and allow a leper to touch him and God could allow his power to emanate from him thank God tonight for the wonderful Plan of Salvation why we believe what we believe
