Why We Believe What We Believe (Part 9)

if you have your Bibles and would turn with me to the Book of Matthew Matthew chapter 3 and verse number 11 we continue with our series why we believe why we believe what we believe bring my monitors down please why we believe why we believe what we believe and the baptism of the Holy Ghost tonight and I'm so thankful to have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost amen there's nothing like the baptism of the Holy Ghost Matthew chapter 3 and verse number 11 John said I am indeed baptize you with water unto repentance but he that cometh after me is mightier than I whose shoes I am not worthy to Bear he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire whose fan is in his hand and he will thoroughly Purge his floor and gather his wheat into the Garner but he will burn up the the chaff with unquenchable fire why we believe what we believe the baptism of the Holy Ghost Jesus I ask God that you would anoint my heart tonight Lord you have called me to minister you've called me to preach and teach and I ask you God that you would anoint my heart tonight that I may feed your people God if you will anoint me I will be so careful to give you the glory and the honor for using me tonight to minister God God touch hearts in this place may we live leave here encouraged that we have the baptism of the Holy Ghost in Jesus name we pray amen and amen you may be seated tonight the purpose of the baptism of the Holy Ghost let me just if for those of you that are keeping notes the purpose of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is to know God in the power of salvation the purpose of the Holy Ghost is to know God in the power of Salvation and after you know God the purpose of your life the purpose of your life is to share him through the change that the Holy Ghost will make in your life to share him with others through the obvious change that the Holy Ghost makes and through the word of God that you will receive your whole life's purpose is to know God your whole life's purpose is to be able to share him with those that see the change and to share him with those that allow you to minister the word of God to can I tell you there isn't a higher joy in your life like knowing god there isn't a higher joy in your life like being able to point to somebody that you help lead to God to The Wonderful Plan of Salvation now God is not against us having Hobbies God is not against us having careers God is not against us having families God is not against us having friends but can I tell you none of that should be the chief purpose of your life the Holy Ghost the purpose of the Holy Ghost is to know God through the through the uh Power of Salvation John begins to talk about the Lord Jesus and he Compares his ministry John the Baptist ministry with the ministry that Jesus would have he makes a comparison he says now I have baptized you I have immersed you with water because of repentance I have immersed you in in water because you have repented but there's one that's coming after me that is mightier than I and he shall baptize or immerse you with the Holy Ghost and with fire now let let's deal with that fire for a moment because that fire there represents purification when God gives you the baptism of the Holy Ghost your sanctification begins your purification begins and uh it's being you you're being purified you're being made more like him more like Jesus by that Holy Ghost that spirit and that fire of God that's burning out anything that is unlike the Lord next John uses an analogy of a farmer a farmer that is harvesting wheat he talks about the farmer that goes out to get wheat there is the grain the heavy grain of the wheat the part that we make bread out of and then there's another part called the chaff the chaff is the shell around the grain you don't make bread out of the out of the shaft the chaff you don't make bread out of that as a matter of fact there's a process that you go through you take it to a stone floor you take the wheat to a stone floor and there you begin to beat the the wheat in beating of the wheat with a with a fork like what what we would know is a pitchfork you begin to beat the wheat it loosens the grain that Bread is made from from the chaff that's around it but then the wind begins to blow and they begin to take that wheat and they begin to throw it up in the air the wind the chaff is light it's not it's not it's no nowhere anywhere heavy like the grain is the Caff is blown away by the wind and All That Remains at his feet is the grain that the bread will be made from and then he says he's going to gather the wheat into his Garner or into his barn he's going to gather the grain into his barn he's going to do something with the grain he's going to make bread he's going to feed people with the grain but the chaff he takes it piles it up burn turns it in an unquenchable fire and of course the analogy there is that you understand that you want to be the wheat you don't want to be the chaff and the only way that that separation can come is for you to be baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire I I want him and I know you also you do too I want him to burn up everything in me that's unlike him I want him to burn up everything in my life that's unlike like him jealousy bitterness worldliness whatever it is Holy Ghost burn up everything in me that is unlike that is unlike you John said that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Ghost and with fire it will be later on in the Book of John chapter 3 and verse number three that Jesus would speak of this baptism in John 3 and3 and says and Jesus answered Ed and said unto him Nicodemus verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God now there's there's two ways that you can interpret this and I believe that both of these ways I believe that both of these ways are I believe that both of them are I believe that both of them are are correct I believe that the only way that you can see heaven is to have the baptism of the Holy Ghost that's the only way you'll see Heaven is to have the baptism of the Holy Ghost you say well brother Carpenter can I ask you a question do you believe I have to have it to go to heaven can I ask you a question why wouldn't you want it why wouldn't you want something from God if God wants to give it to you wouldn't you want it well sure you would you would want it so you you can look at it for both ways that that unless un you're born again except a man be born again verse three he cannot enter he cannot excuse me he cannot see the kingdom of God and and again myal my my my word about seeing Heaven is true but I believe there's another interpretation too and I believe that is to perceive the kingdom of God to understand God's ways you see a carnal mind cannot understand spiritual things they it cannot understand spiritual things a carnal mind cannot understand why we're here tonight at Bible study a carnal mind decides that God God should be God should be happy and oh while while I'm on the subject I thank God I think the final count they gave me Easter Sunday morning we had 1,023 people here at church he said God deserves a hand clap offering 1,23 was here Easter Sunday but the carinal mind says that God ought to be happy just getting me one or two days out of the Year all right the carnal mind would say well I don't even really believe that God cares that I would even go to his house that's the carnal mind he he can't he can't see he can't comprehend he can't see the ways of God he can't see that the way to be blessed is to give of yourself he can't when it comes to he he can't he can't see the kingdom the cornal mind can't see the kingdom of God it's everything about the kingdom of God whether it's coming to church or tithing the carnal mind just kind of uh short circuits when it comes to that it's kind of like I I can't give because I'm I'm in need and doesn't understand because he has he has a carnal mind he cannot perceive the kingdom of God he cannot understand why you come out from the world and be separate he can't understand these things so therefore it takes the baptism of the Holy Ghost to perceive the kingdom of God As a matter of fact Paul said it this way that no man speaking by the spirit of God the Holy Ghost can say that Jesus Christ is cursed no man speaking of the Holy Ghost can say that Jesus Christ is cursed but neither can any man call Jesus Christ Lord Jehovah except by the Holy Ghost you can't even get the revelation of who Jesus is without the baptism of the Holy Ghost it takes that that spiritual birth uh in your mind that spiritual at spiritual perception you you see the Jews had an issue the Jews believed that they were going to heaven simply based on one thing would you like to know what it is the Jews believ they were going to heaven based on brother Justin based on one thing and here it is what would put them in heaven was that they were born a Jew that's all it took that's all it took once that little boy little girl came to the knowledge they were of the uh uh uh of the Seed of Abraham while they just threw their hands up and they said man I'm already in the Pearly Gates I'm I'm I'm already in heaven because I'm born a Jew now doesn't this begin to make sense why Jesus would tell Nicodemus who thought he was already going to heaven that he would tell him these words except a man be born again he said to him one day he said to a bunch of Jews one day he said think not to say that we are the Seed of Abraham and Jesus pointed down to a bunch of rocks laying on the ground and he said God is able to raise up children unto himself by these rocks right here so we we understand what Jesus said in John 3:3 verily I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God Nicodemus probably was offended at that because he thought he was already in heaven Nicodemus responds in verse four by saying how can a man be born when he's old can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born he is sarcastic and he is offended because Jesus has just told him you're not ready for the kingdom of God Jesus answered said you want to know how the new birth comes verse five Jesus said verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and that's water baptism and of the spirit that Spirit baptism he would you read it with me would you read it would y'all read it with me tonight he he cannot enter into the kingdom of God I believe that's pretty simple we don't need any Greek we don't need any Hebrew we don't need any elaborating on it it's pretty simple he said unless you were born you want to know how you've been sarcastic and tried to say something out being born again in your mother's womb and I'll tell you how you're born again you're born out of the water and you're born out of the spirit or you cannot enter into the kingdom of God again in John 7 and verse number 37 in John 7 verse number 37 Jesus attended a feast that they had and at this Feast they had a little ceremony of pouring water out of a silver picture down the steps of the temple and it was to symbolize the day that God would pour His Spirit out you remember the story about Ezekiel had the vision but the tyer of water coming out from under the door of the temple remember that and the water was ankle deep and knee deep and waist deep and they would pour this water it was an elaborate ceremony they would they would come out and blow trumpets and they would pour water down the steps and they would tell the people one day this is going to this is going to come it was in the midst of that that verse 37 takes place in the last day that great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink now let me stop there and bring attention to one word he's got to be passionate about what he's saying how do you know that he's passionate because he cries it out he lifts up his voice in a passionate cry he cries out saying if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink in other words get your mind off of this ceremony over here get your mind off of what you're seeing verse 38 he that believeth on me as the scripture has said now that's real important how do you believe upon him as the scripture has said Look At Me Now doesn't say you got to believe on me as Mama tells you doesn't say you got to believe on me as your denomination tells you you got to believe on him how church as the scripture has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water but this spake he of the spirit which they that believe on him should receive for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified now he said when I'm glorified when I die on the cross when I raised from the dead on the third day when I send into heaven I'm going to send the Holy Ghost back to this earth and they that believe on me will receive the Holy Ghost if they believe on me according to the scripture it's very important you can't believe on him just any way you can't believe on him just any way you've got to believe on him according to the scripture well what's so important about that Mark chap 12 in verse number 24 and Jesus answering said unto them you do Heir therefore because you know not the scripture look at the order of this brother Nolan he said you Heir Heir means to Veer off the path it means to go from the right way you have aired From the Path he said you have aired because number one notice the way it's laid out you don't know the scripture you have aired into false Doctrine you know what'll keep you out of false Doctrine true Doctrine true Doctrine will keep you out of false Doctrine don't study false Doctrine study true Doctrine and if you'll study the true Doctrine when false Doctrine comes around you'll be able to spot it and smell it a mile away you'll say that that's not that's not true Doctrine right there that's not the true Doctrine right there now they tell me they tell me maybe some of you Bank clerks can can help me out but they tell me that they trained the bank clerks on how to spot counterfeit money not by handing them counterfeit money but by handing them the real thing they get the feel on their fingers for the real thing and so when the fake comes through they're able to spot it oh this is not real and see don't don't study false Doctrine don't don't go online and study what this cult believes and what that cult believes and matter of fact I'm just going to tell you don't go online to find out what the apostolics believe cuz I've had to tell more people we don't believe that we don't believe that we don't believe that you want to know what we believe go to the word of God the word of God will spell it out for you don't don't study false Doctrine study true Doctrine tonight that's what we're studying look look at this now go a go ahead and give him a hand clap of Praise right now Jesus said you you have aired you've AED you veered off because you do not know the scripture neither the power of God would you see how the power of God is connected to scripture he just didn't say you've AED because you don't know the scripture he said you've AED because you don't know the scripture and because you don't know the scripture you don't know the power of God either oh friend there's power in these scriptures there's power that's in these scriptures well let's go to Mark chapter 16 while we believe what we believe the baptism of the Holy Ghost Mark chapter 16 verse number 15 some of the last words of Jesus on the earth as recorded by my mark he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature gospel means good news boy it is good news it is good news he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be and these signs shall follow them that believe Jesus said if you believe on me according to the scripture out of your belly shall flow rivers of Living Water God does not give you the Holy Ghost so you believe on him God gives you the Holy Ghost because you have believed on him you got to get it in that order you got to get stript shed down in that order it'll help you it'll help you to receive the things of God if you will read scripture and know what scripture says hey I'm going to tell you something if putting a weight amount on your refrigerator helps you to dieet I wonder and it changes you all right I wonder how much if we could post some scripture whatever you're struggling with in life whatever's got you pinned against the wall I wonder if you started putting a little sticky note on your rearview or you started putting a little sticky note on your your nightstand and when you went to bed put your watch on the nightstand you read to where whatever it is that you're that you're struggling with if you feel like you're all alone if you had scriptures there I will never leave you I will never forsake you I'm telling you Church there is power when we read the scripture you just don't read the scripture and that's it you get God's power to back it up these signs shall follow them that believe what are they in my name they shall cast out Devils they shall cast out Devils if I would stop there for a moment and ask you to get out of your mind uh walking down the sidewalk and casting the devil out of somebody and they're foaming at the mouth there is a lot of devils at work in our lives when we're Sinners and we don't even know it there's a lot of devil matter of fact the devil wants to be be as disguised as he can because if you ever identify him as the devil he knows that it's the end of his show but see when you're a sinner you got a lot of devils in your life you don't even know they're working you got habits of Destruction in your life you got things that's robbing you of your joy and your peace but oh let me get the baptism of the Holy Ghost and I begin to cast out destructive Devils out of my life things that are going to put me in a early grave I begin to cast them out so yes I do believe in casting out Devils they that believe these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out Devils somebody said tell me what his name is in my name they shall cast out Devils you know you something when you pray pray in Jesus name matter of fact let's don't let this creep in it's in the religious world but I hear people in in prayer in Christ's name we pray well say Christ's name Christ is not a name Christ is a title he's Messiah that's what that's what Christ means that's why you say Lord Jesus Christ Lord tiing that he's the Lord Jehovah of the Old Testament Jesus tiing that he's God manifested In the Flesh Jehovah is our salvation and Christ identifies him as Israel's Messiah but don't just pray and say in Christ's name I pray or his name I pray say that that name in the name of Jesus I pray in the name of Jesus I give you thanks God what a wonderful name these signs shall follow of them that believe in my name they shall cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall speak with new tongues now there are those that want to say well that that that just talking they're going to have a new way of speaking they're going to have a new way of speaking but the Bible gives us too many scriptures that when we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost we speak in a new tongue we speak in a new language you know to really get a grasp on this language we need to go to Genesis chapter 9 and verses 1 and two for a moment and then Genesis chapter 11 beginning at verse one we going to talk about language and the role that language plays Genesis 9 verse number one somebody give me somebody give me a hearty amen tonight come on come on don't you love the word of God Genesis 9 And1 and God blessed Noah and his sons and said unto them be fruitful multiply and replenish the Earth the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every foul of the air upon all that move moveth upon the Earth and upon all the fishes of the sea into your hand are they delivered he said here's your command Noah here's your command here's the your command three sons and three daughter-in-laws here's your command go into all the world be fruitful multiply replenish or populate populate the earth now follow me on this God's got a plan for the Earth when God was telling Noah and his sons brother Holland to go into all the world there were parts of the world that were not yet populated that God already had a plan for the people that were going to be in that land so God tells him go ahead and travel and replenish and be fruitful and multiply that was God's command that was God's command now let's go to Genesis 11 verse number one the Bible said and the whole earth was of one language and one speech and it came to pass as they journeyed from the East that they found a plane in the land of Sinar and they dwelt there now here's the people following What mo what God told Noah replenish multiply be fruitful here's the people they all have one language there's not English and Spanish there's not all there's only one there's only one language it came to pass as they journeyed from the East doing what God told them to do that they found a plane in the land of Sinar and they dwelt there beginning of a mistake God told you to stay on the move but now they dwell in this place called s and they said one to another go too let us make brick burn them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and slime had they for Mortar and they said go to let us build us a city and a tower whose top May reach into heaven and let us make us a name lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth look at what they decide to do they decide to do opposite of what God told them to do God said I want you to replenish I want you to multiply I want you to fill the earth I want you to stay on the move but they come to a place and they decide they're going to dwell here not only that they decide they want security so they begin to make brick Oh What a secure life it's going to be we're going to make brick and then they had slime from mortar and then they said let us build us a tower whose top May reach unto heaven now some some and and I don't think you're totally I don't think you're wrong at all I think it's an idea but did they want to build something to escape future flooding did they want to build a tower that if God's wrath if the if the flooding came again they could run up to the top of it and they could escape the Judgment of God the Bible said let us have a name let us build us a name let us do this let us have a city here we know God said to go into all the world we know that God said replenish but this is what we want to do can I tell you you can do what you want to do but the Great Divine inspector will come to see you you can do what we all have a free will tonight we all we all we all have a free will and I in the younger days of my Ministry and I think I've got victory over it I think I hope I have but I I was really dogmatic that people were going to Worship the Lord if they came to church one way or another the Holy Spirit or my intimidation they were going to worship God and u i i i would I would stare at people I I would I would stare at people I would just like you know and then when that wouldn't work I used to get down in the aisle and i' I'd do like this and I'd look down and of course you'd had people you know and one night going home my wife got tickled she got to laugh and I said what's funny she said I can't tell you and you know that have you ever had your mate tell you that they're laugh oh I can't tell you what no so no tell me you almost get in an argument saying I want you to tell me she saidwell tonight when you went down the aisle said it looked like the wave at the Tennessee football game said when you went by they went up and when you left they went down all right but the truth of the matter is truth of the matter is I can tell you you need to worship but it's your own will whether you worship tonight boy and if you'd worship you'd really like it if you'd really get in church the way you ought to get in church man it'd be a whole new life for you you you you would love the things of God it's so will but the Divine inspector's coming down the Bible said in verse number the Bible says in verse number five of chapter 11 Genesis and the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built and the Lord said behold the people is one they are they have all one language and this they begin to do and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do God said they're going to do it God said now when God tells you you're going to do you're going to do it God said you're going to do it why they all got one language they've all got one speech they're communicating in unity they've got one language and they got one speech and God said they're going to do this they're going to stay right here and they're going to build this Tower and my plan my will is not going to be carried through then God says this in verse 12 verse 7 excuse me go to let us go down and there what we going to do we're going to confound their what language that they may not understand one another's speech and the Lord scattered them abroad from th upon the face of the Earth and they left off to build the city therefore is the name of it called Babel because that's what they that's what that's what they uh uh the resemblance of babbling if you don't know a foreign language you go in a country and you don't know a foreign language you stand there and listen to them and it's kind of like what one what the world they're saying is just they're just making sounds no that that's a language that's a language there so all of a sudden they've got the same language and the carpenter is saying bring me a 2 four 8 ft long bring me a bucket of mortar I need a half bucket up here and all of a sudden you've got confusion breaking out a man is speaking a language but the man he's talking to doesn't they don't understand it and it sounds like that they just a bunch of babbling but let me tell you something it's God doing the work God got his will fulfilled by entering into the mind in the tongue of man and allowing him to speak a language that he didn't know God's will because it says in verse 8 so the Lord scattered them abroad from then upon the face of all the Earth and they left off to build the city therefore the name of it is called Babel because the Lord did there confound the language of all the the Earth and from F did the Lord scatter them abroad here's God's will is it not church he scattered them abroad where upon the face of all the Earth so God got his will accomplished because I need people over there in Israel I need people I need people over here to start a government in Rome I need people over here to start another uh start another but if you don't follow the will those people are not there and my timetable doesn't work but God said I'll go down and I will do do a miracul anytime God does a work it's miraculous I will do a miraculous work upon man and I will change their language and they will do my will after the language David gusk A Commentary says the he he makes reference to the Lord confused the language of all the Earth he says the division of the languages is a fascinating subject modern linguist no no man know that man did not invent language man did not invent language any more than man invented his own circulatory and nervous system modern linguists believe language is so unique that the only way they can explain it apart from God is to say that it was part of a unique evolutionary process those that study language know that man did not come up with language language cannot be uh the product of man putting together sounds all by himself language is so complex gusk says because languages exist as whole systems not as small parts put together most modern linguists believe all languages came from one original language boy they have hit it right on the head they're exactly right do you know all the languages in our world today all came from one language what was it it was God's language it all came from just one just one language brother Carpenter we're talking about the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues well let's go back to Luke chap 24 now and I'm going to use I'm going to just kind of tuck away tuck away Genesis 11 don't go far from it Luke 24 and verse 45 then opened hether understanding that they might understand the scripture and he said unto them thus it is written and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem and ye are witnesses of these things and behold I send the promise of my father upon you but T ye in the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high it is God's will for the gospel to go to Every Nation on this Earth it is God's will you don't have to pray about giv to missions it's already God's will it's God's will for every nation for every tribe every village every neighborhood around the world to have somebody come to their neighborhood and tell them about the good news about the Gospel of Jesus Christ it is God's will well we're praying about starting a jail Ministry to see if it's God's will brother John Stone it is God's will anything to do with the reaching of lost souls is God's will it's God's will it's God's will it's God's will well he said 'I want you to go into all the world and preach the gospel and I want you to take my name now do you remember something about do you remember something about Genesis 11 what did they say let us make a name and a city and a tower that we may be known but in the New Testament it's not about us being known it's about him being known you see things change in the New Testament we fall under the will of God the gospel of God that he wants this in all the world so the name we're taking is not our name and the city we want to build is not our city it's all about his City but notice something he said this is my will go into all the world preach the gospel this is my will but wait a minute don't leave Jerusalem until you have been ued that word endued there means clothed with power from on high you have got what I want but you don't have the power to fulfill what I want you know that I want the gospel preached in all the world but you don't have the power yet and the power came in Acts chapter 2 and verse number one follow this now and when the day of pent cost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place does that sound familiar what did they have at the Tower of Babel brother Marshall they had Unity they were in one speech they were in one language what do they have on the day of Pentecost the Bible said they were all with one Accord in one place Church let's strive let's battle that when we come to the house of God God we have one thing on our mind and that one thing is lifting up Jesus Christ that one thing is listen you won't get anything out of church if you've come to get even with somebody you won't get anything out of church if you've come to try to hurt somebody but if you'll come to worship Jesus Christ you'll get so much out of church you you'll just get so much out of church matter of fact this may be a long time since I mentioned this but I ask you parents that have children in our Christian School please don't come up to teachers at church about school issues well it's so convenient it might be convenient but it's not fitting cuz I don't want to come to church and hear why my boy got in detention I don't want to come to church and hear why my boy or girl fa let's be equal why my girl failed the class there's a school for that but when it comes to W yeah buddy I got something treed right now but when it comes to Wednesday night Sunday morning Sunday night that's all about Jesus that's all about him I've come in one mind in one Accord because good things happen when we get in one mind I'm going to live for God I'm going to serve God my family's going to be saved on and on and on and on they were in one one Accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind it filled all the house where they were sitting follow me now and there appeared unto them clothing tongues like as a fire and it set up on each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance can I tell you tonight he told them he said I want you to go into all the world preach the gospel but don't go until you're endued with power from on high I don't want you you don't have the power to do it you shall be Witnesses unto me youen when you get the Holy Ghost In The Plan of Salvation you get a purpose in your life to burn out anything that's unlike Jesus Christ amen you you you want to you want to become more like him when that temper flares up you say come on Holy Ghost burn burn that out of me when that habit is robbing you of your health you say come on Holy Ghost burn that desire for that addiction out of my life and I'm telling you I'm a testimony of one addiction smoking cigarettes although I was 16 years old I was a as addicted as could be but through the power of the Holy Ghost thank God many years ago I laid them down and God gave me the Victory and if he did it for cigarettes he'll do it for drugs he he'll do it for alcohol he'll do it for pornography he'll do it for jealousy he'll do it for bitterness whatever is unlike Jesus he'll do it and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and begin to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them the Ence they got the Holy Ghost they got the new tongue and they got that power they got that Holy Ghost they got that that they got that power let me end let me end this Bible Lesson they got the Holy Ghost but they didn't fully follow what God wanted they loved staying at Jerusalem oh they love Jerusalem historians say that when the Holy Ghost fell on the day of Pentecost that the few years after the church was not doing its job the church was just staying at Jerusalem that it's been numbered that there were millions millions of water B baptized in Jesus name Holy Ghost filled Believers in Jerusalem but that wasn't God's will so we have Acts chapter 8 and verse number one and Saul was consenting unto his death and at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem and they were all scattered throughout all the regions of Judea and Samaria except the apostles devout men carried Steven to his burial and made great lamentation over him as for Saul he made Havoc of the church entering into every house and hailing men and women committing them to prison therefore they that were scattered look at verse four now we're doing the will of God they that were scattered abroad went everywhere doing what preaching the word according to a commentary they say that the word word scattered can have two different meanings it's the same word but it has two different meanings in the ancient Greek language for the ideal of scattered one has the ideal of scattering in the sense of making something disappear you you you you're like you're scattering someone's ashes you're making it disappear the other word for scatter has the idea of scattering in the sense of planting or sewing seeds this is what it meant when it says and they were scattered abroad and went everywhere doing what preaching the word aren't you thankful they got scattered abroad aren't you thankful that the gospel left Jerusalem jumped over the Atlantic Ocean landed somewhere on the on the East Coast aren't you glad wherever you were at that the Holy Ghost found you in your town in your city and you got filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost I'm glad that it got scattered abroad oh I think we can give God a little bit more praise I said I'm glad it got scattered abroad I'm glad it got scattered abroad I said I'm glad it got scattered abroad I I'm glad somebody scattered a person on my job that witnessed to me I'm I'm glad somebody scattered a bus and got a bus to go by my house and pick my grandpa up I wouldn't be in church today if it wasn't for somebody that scattered it just let me take the last two or three minutes and run down a few verses Acts chapter 4 and 31 and when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word of God with boldness can I tell you there's nothing like giving you confidence like the Holy Ghost maybe we ought to maybe we ought to lay down some of these leadership books that tell us how we ought to give a presentation and maybe we ought to find a prayer room and get filled with there is nothing like pushing your low self-esteem out like the baptism of the Holy Ghost you hear me there is nothing that makes you feel like treasure like receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost acts 5 verse number three acts 5 and three Peter said but Peter said ananas why has Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost well I don't even want to go there very far because I just tell you what right now I wouldn't want to lie to the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost is kind of like what your mother my my mother used to do me this way when I was a little boy she Saidi going to ask you tell me the truth she'd say look into my eyes she said Mama's got a special thing I don't know if you're lying and I look in there said I stole it mama hey when the Holy Ghost starts talking to you don't lie to it I I just stop right there are we all in agreement we don't want to lie to the Holy Ghost you you you check Anan well you'd have to go to the other place to check them out but anyway this don't lie to the Holy Ghost acts 7:51 acts 7:51 you stiff necked and uncircumcised and heart and ears you do always resist the holy don't resist the Holy Ghost don't resist the Holy Ghost give into it yield to it yield to the Holy Ghost Ghost is as easy as just receive it yeah don't beg for it just receive it that's truth God wants you to have it I said God wants you to have it yeah yeah Ju Ju Just receive my Bible you see that it's not hard it's it's not just receive the Holy Ghost amen amen just receive it you you you sit down acts 9:31 therefore had the churches rest throughout Judea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost can I tell you the Holy Ghost is a comfort it's a comforter to know that you've got the Holy Ghost why we believe what we believe the baptism of the Holy Ghost would you stand with me right now and can we just Rift our hands up and could we just ask God lord I want to receive the Holy Ghost Lord oh God I love you tonight Lord I
