praise the Lord are you grateful to be in the house of God on a Sunday night oh let me ask it one more time are you grateful to be in the house of God on a Sunday night hasn't God been good to us today I'm so thankful I'm so thankful I won't be taking your attention to the book of uh the book of Acts chapter 27 the book of Acts chapter 27 and verse 22 uh but before we go there I would be remiss not to um say from the bottom of my heart how thankful I have been to have the opportunity to address you to preach to you to teach to you uh to just worship with you and experience what God is doing in Knoxville Tennessee it is marvelous in my eyes um you know we're all human and sometimes we can take the goodness of God for granted and sometimes we forget to come into our local assembly with fresh eyes and to truly perceive and to see everything that is taking place and uh but I'm an outsider so I haven't taken it for granted I haven't gotten used to it but God has blessed you God is partnering with you you are partnering with him and what an honor to be Co labers with Jesus Christ in this end time hour and I'm so grateful for all that God is doing and the students and the children and the adults and the elders uh I'm just thankful I'm so thankful I give honor to Bishop mcco and to Pastor McCool and to Pastor Anthony and Pastor Nathan their wives um they have made me feel like family over and over again and uh you heard it if I get to come back that means I'm going to have third time street cred and it it might just get a little dangerous I y'all might have y'all may have to pray for me I may get a little arrogant and um so I'm I'm grateful and what an amazing surprise and special gift uh to be on the platform with Aaron Curtis love you so very much and um if you don't know Aaron and his wife um I will say of them what I said of your leadership Wednesday in this morning uh they are Christians and as redundant as that is I just haven't found a greater compliment than dubbing someone a true Christian and I'm thankful for these um this couple and their their Devotion to Jesus Christ I want to go to the word of the Lord and I'm going to there's no pressure apparently there's no pressure uh but I want to just do my best to deliver what is on my heart and so I'm going to take you to um Acts chapter 27 Acts chapter 27 and I'm going to begin reading in verse 22 acts chap 27 and verse 22 uh this is a very significant story The Great Apostle Paul is on his way to a destination by boat however he is a prisoner and he is in the middle of a storm and we break into this story in verse 22 and we read his faith infused words and this is where I want to begin my message tonight Paul declares in Acts 27: 22 and now I exhort you to be of good cheer for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you only the boat for there stood by me this night the angel of God whose I am and whom I serve saying fear not Paul you must be brought before Caesar and lo God has given you all of them that sell with thee then he begins to repeat himself and he says wherefore s be of good cheer again for I believe God that it shall be even as it was told me how be it however here's the caveat we must be cast Upon A Certain Island chapter 28 and verse one tells us and when they were escaped then they knew that that Island was called Mita or Malta I believe God's going to speak to us one more time tonight how many of you believe that how many of you truly believe the Lord is going to speak to you I desperately want him to speak to us so by the help of God's spirit I want to preach to you tonight on this simple subject there's honey in those rocks there's honey in those rocks would you turn to your neighbor and would you tell them there's honey in those rocks would you turn to your other neighbor the one you keep rejecting all weekend and would you tell them there's honey in those rocks and and could I just ask you to pray with me and to pray for me as I pray for myself and as I pray for you God I thank you so much for another opportunity to be in your house God I don't take it for granted I don't take it lightly God I pray that you would Tabernacle Among Us I pray that you would dwell Among Us I pray that you would Minister and do what only you can get credit for I give you great praise and great honor yours is the Kingdom and The Glory forever and ever amen amen amen somebody say in Jesus name Jes Paul is powerful Paul is a mighty mighty man of God his life is prolific his life has been profoundly used by heaven and yet in this moment Paul no doubt does not feel powerful he probably feels powerless because he is a prisoner surrounded by other prisoners he is in the middle of a Roman vessel being tossed to and fro in the middle of a stormy season it appears that his life is being driven by the wind and the waves and yet even now he has still the cargo of heaven and even now the hand of God is still guiding him he emerges from below deck water loged drenched in rain and there's this declaration on his lips somehow he is smiling in the middle of the storm and he begins to utter these words be of good cheer he not only says it once but he says it twice Divine repetition be of good cheer I don't know about you but in my flawed Humanity there's some messages I need to hear more than once I really do need to hear about the grace of God again because when I have heard it I believe it but then life begins to come at me once again and I believe that perhaps my life can maybe just maybe go a little further than the grace of God in its failures and mistakes and then I hear that Divine repetition once more I hear about Grace again I hear about Mercy again I hear about love again Holiness is worth hearing again the gospel is worth Earth hearing again I'm so grateful that same Apostle Paul would say I write unto you again I call to your remembrance I I speak according to the same manner I'm thankful to hear glorious words from this Bible more than once because my faith needs to hear it but my Humanity needs to hear it again and again he declares to everybody that will dare to listen be of good cheer I notice that when I don't have a B in my hand I just clap more so you're going to have to deal with my clapping I I I I I I see those listening to him and I I I see those hearing what he is saying and I I I I I see their discombobulated faces if you don't use the word discombobulated you really need to add that into your vocabulary it'll make you sound smarter than you are I I I see their discombobulated faces and and and everything is going a they could potentially die and yet there is this man declaring to them be of good cheer I didn't clap my hands I hope you're proud of me be of good cheer I can't help myself be of good cheer it doesn't make sense why is this great man of God the storm has gotten to him hypothermia has settled in he's getting Delirious we are about to die and yet he says it not once but twice be of good cheer but now we can understand and we can unpack why he is so emphatic why he is infused with Faith and Hope This is why the Bible lets us know the why he gives us the why he says this very night the angel of the Lord stood by me now I need you to get out of the sanctuary on a Sunday night and I I need you to get on that Roman vessel for just a moment the wind is blowing the rain is coming down everything is topsy turvy they have thrown things overboard everything is slipping and sliding and yet Paul said I saw something standing this night the angel of the Lord stood by me I feel like clapping again if you could get your eyes on the heavenlies I would remind you if you could get your eyes on the heavenlies you would realize that your calling has not slipped your lord and savior has not slipped you are connected you are Tethered to something that is anchored behind the veil you may be slipping you may be sliding but if you can LIF your eyes from politics you can L your eyes above CNN and you can L your eyes above the diagnosis and you can L your eyes above unstable emotions and you could get your eyes on the throne Heaven Is Still Standing our calling is sure it is steadfast it is not flimsy Paul said I'm not just declaring Hollow words I'm not just declaring blind optimism no no no no I I I see you ever notice when you declare faith that that uh you will be diagnosed as having Blind Faith you're you're just ignoring reality you don't really understand everything that's going on you're just closing your eyes you're just ignoring everything you're giving into cowardice you're you're you're you're you're you're just being avoidant I I I would I would argue that I I I don't I don't have Blind Faith I might just have crosseyed faith because I not only see what is in front of me I also see what is above me I see the diagnosis but I also see that he is a Healer I see the pain and the trauma but I also choose to see that he is still the healing bomb of Gilead I see the world that is frothing over in vness but I see also that in these last days he is going to pour out his Spirit up on All Flesh if all you see is all you see you haven't seen it all can I say it one more time if all you see is all you see you have not seen everything you have got to see the Unseen you have got to see what you got to see what heaven is doing you got to see what heaven is accomplishing you got to see what heaven is working on your behalf Paul says this night the angel joy of the Lord stood by me and he told me Paul you're going to make it to your destination and you're not just going to make it to your destination but everybody with you is going to make it as well however you're going to have to crash and the boat is going to be destroyed speaking of North American uh uh Congress I I was at North American Congress and I I was about 5 minutes from my hotel but your boy was being lazy I didn't feel like walking to the Hotel so I did something very Millennial I decided to Uber instead of walk for 5 minutes it's the problem with our generation bless God and so I uh I just didn't feel like walking to the hotel and so I got in the Uber and uh we were making our way to the hotel I could see it and all of a sudden I noticed the driver was shaking and I thought you know what I really could judge right now but hey you know what I'm made de I get it no worries and uh then then then then they uh ran a red light and I said oh no that's not going to work fam that's not going to work and I said uh you can drop me off right here and they said they they said uh they said your hot tells right there I said but you can you can drop me off right here and they said I I'm trying to protect whether it was a you know um a male or female but it it was a her she she she was just I don't want to feed into The Stereotype but but uh she she was like the the hotel's over there and I said but you can drop me out right here please I really would like it if you drop me off right here I'm trying to go to heaven but I ain't trying to show up early you you you have to hear what they are hearing everybody's going to make it but we're going to crash everybody's going to be safe but there's going to be wreckage it does not make sense it is a this this this weird dichotomy that somehow the the the container is going to be completely annihilated and destroyed but somehow the contents are going to be safe and secure it does not make sense um can I just let you in on a little lesson that I have learned when you ask the Lord to do a new thing in your life he will answer that prayer and God is so serious about doing an old a new thing in your life that he will allow some old things to break Jes I I have learned in my life uh that that sometimes um some sometimes things carry you for too long sometimes we are carried by our comfort zon sometimes we are carried by old commitment sometimes we are carried by old prayer lives and God desires to awake us and sometimes to awake us he breaks us I I if something is shattering in your life I just I just submit that perhaps it has carried you for long enough because God will do a new thing in your life but sometimes he will allow the old thing to be torn aunder and to shatter and to break in order to get you to that new thing the Bible lets us know that that that that that the command is given for everybody that knows how to swim to swim that that everybody is almost murdered and yet yet Paul is is able to save them and and he's able to to stop and he said no no just just let everybody get to the shore let everybody get to the land and so the command is given if you know how to swim just just swim get to the land and the Bible says that those that knew how to swim they they got to the land first now I love that crew I celebrate that crew I am not that crew H well I just been doing a whole lot of confessing this weekend and trying to be really transparent and you keep judging me so I'll just you know I'll just step out by faith again and expect you not to judge me even though you will judge me I don't swim I don't swim is there anybody here that doesn't swim either oh wow everyone just knows how to swim except me okay okay okay there's a few of you trying to make me feel better the Bible says that everybody that knew how to swim swam to the shore they made it but then the Bible says that the rest clung to broken pieces of the boat but the Bible says that they still made it some made it on strength some made it on knowledge some made it on their abilities others made it on Brokenness but everybody made it you know what I love about FC Knoxville is that when you come to the house of God can you can you run up here can well just I mean all of you sure why not everybody every everybody the whole church when you come to okay so who's going to be strong and and who's going to be broken so you're going to be strength and you're going to be strength and you're going to be Brokenness and you're going to be Brokenness this is what's so amazing about a church family this is what so amazing about Sunday night church is that you come in bloody you come in weary you come in broken but then you link up with strength and strength and Brokenness can shout in the same altar a promotion and a job loss can walk to the same altar a diagnosis that has not been reversed can step into the same altar as a healing that is already confirmed Bible says that everybody made it everybody made it now stay up here I I have a question I it's a really deep philos philosophical question I just need to know how did they know that everybody made it how did they know that everybody had made it well I did some studying in the Greek and this is what I this is what I deduce I think somebody counted one two three four there was more than four at Code Orange Revival there was more than four there was more than you in that bible study this is why we believe in followup this is why we believe in being accountable yes sir because everybody counts you count I forgive me for being so simplistic but somebody is counting on you somebody is depending upon you that's what it means to be accountable because if you're not at Sunday night there's not another Sunday night and if you're not at prayer meeting there's there's if you're not at Sunday night there's not another you if you're not at prayer there's not another you if you're not worshiping there's there's not another you if you're not growing in the knowledge and the grace of God if you're not maturing there's not another you one I know there was more than this one two three four four I think there's I see bubbles there's somebody out there there's somebody about to sink we cannot we can't I want to celebrate that we're all here but we've also got to showcase the fact that he's not here and and and hold on just a minute we're going to come back to the Celebration hey hey hey you can't die in the Deep you can't get die in the Deep come on you're going to make it you're going to make it come on you got to get to the shore you count you count I don't care what the stats say I don't care no no no you got to you got to get you got to get to the sh I remember there was both of you come on I remember when you got the Holy Ghost and I remember what God did in your life and all right we pause for a commercial break 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 was this everybody I feel like there was somebody else I feel like there was somebody else let's count again come on we we got everybody counts one two oh fac is just one of those places if you go missing nobody's going to know no somebody's going to know somebody's going to figure it out somebody's going to find out somebody's going to text you so uh forgive me for being maybe this is too simplistic but I just need somebody watching online to realize you count you matter somebody is counting on you one 2 three 4 five six seven there was somebody else there was somebody else was it you I think it was you was it you I think it was you hey hey you got oh no no no you you can't drown in the cynicism you can't drown in the negativity you can't drown in the isolation everybody's I just believe believe that everybody can make it why can't everybody make it why can't we pray for one more Soul why can't we teach one more Bible study it's not just one more it's another singular soul that has a personality that has giftings that has dreams that has calling 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine is everybody here has everybody made it I just believe that where God is taking fac every single person in this room can go I just believe where God is taking this school every student can go I just believe where God is taking the youth every young adult can go Why can't your marriage go Why can't your family go Why can't your friends go why can't people that are not in this house yet go that have not receive the spirit yet go I say why not Hallelujah you made it we made it some of oh we giving high fives to everybody we made it fam we made it some of you made it on strength some of you made it on Brokenness but we all made it we all made it some of you were shouting and giving God praise some of you were bloody and busted you done drag yourself in here but everybody made it everybody made it I want you to notice what happens the Bible says that everybody has made it they've come out of the cold they've come out of the chilly Frozen Waters but the Bible lets us know something really uh I think it's I think it's really I think it's really significant I think it's worth reading acts 28 and verse 2 says the barbarus people showed us no little kindness for they kindled a fire and received every one of us because of the present Reign and because of the cold now how many of you uh it's it's almost January we're going to start singing It's My Season to be blessed new chapter see you're scared to say it because that's what we said coming into this year that's it's a new season it's a new chapter new favor and then you walked into this year and if you were like me you said uh we got a receipt on this can we take this back do we have a 30-day refund I thought I was walking into a new thing a new chapter a a new blessing new favor am I the only one but this is what I've come to understand and realize everything that they they had swam out of looked exactly what looked exactly like what they made it to everything that they were stepping into looked exactly like what they had just stepped out of and this is what I have learned when God does not allow you to step into something new he is asking you to become something new I said it Wednesday I'll say it again people will change their job they'll change their clothes they'll change cities they'll change churches without ever changing their heart and their mind that's right it doesn't matter if everything changes externally if nothing changes intrinsically but somebody said we don't have to accept the climate right we don't have to just take the temperature we can change it somebody said let's build a fire I talked about it in Chapel but I got to talk about it again somebody has to make up in their mind on Monday to build a fire somebody has to make up in their mind after cold orange Revival to build a fire when the hand of God got on that fiery bush in the Old Testament the Bible says that the attention of Moses was arrested not because a bush was catching on fire but because it was not consumed it was something quite normal for a bush to conver and turn into flames in the dry arid heat of the desert but what was not normal is for a bush to keep burning and keep burning it was not withering it was burning it was not turning into ashes it was burning it was not wilting can I just speak over this church it is not the will of God for Revival to be a moment to be a month or a season why can't we catch on fire and stay on fire I've got biblical precedent for the fact that you you can burn on and burn on you don't have to burn up you don't have to wither you don't have to go back to just a spark you can catch on fire and your faith and your intercession and your righteousness and your tenacity and your commitment can stay on [Applause] fire Moses said I've never seen a fire like this most bushes just catch on fire and they turn into ases but this bush just keeps burning on and burning on I wish that would be a parabolic picture of this church they haven't burned out yet they haven't burned up yet they just keep burning on they're human they have bad days but they've got Sabbath and they've got mercy and they've got Grace and they've got prayer rooms and one day at a time one moment at a time one service at a time they just keep burning bright for God said let's somebody nameless but notable said let's build a fire they didn't have a position they didn't have pedigree somebody whose name is unknown just said we're going to build a fire and the Apostle Paul said I'm not just going to let you build a fire by yourself I'm going to help you build a fire there is no magician that is too great that they can't help build a fire there is no preacher too great that you can't help build a fire there is no Elder there is no saint there is no congreg that has too much seniority that you are excused from helping build a fire and you know what we need more than fire Builders we need fire Keepers there's a flame going up there's a fire already burning but we need somebody to fuel it we need somebody to protect it we need somebody to add to it don't you wait until you're on staff don't you wait until you're on this stage we need you can I keep preaching just a few more minutes they said we don't have to accept the climate we don't have to accept we don't have to accept the elements of the weather we can change it you see hypothermia it's going to settle in if they don't build a fire there's so there's so many unique nuances to hypothermia but this is the one that that that interests me the most when hypothermia sets in one of its most horrific deceptive qualities is that when hypothermia sets in you can begin to feel heat and begin to feel warm when there is no fire burning Lord Jesus oh this is why you got to build a fire at home because there's too many coming to the house of God and they're feeling the heat of a fire where there is no Source it's your fire for your home for your mind for your spirituality but if I come into this house and I feel heat from a fire that I haven't built it may just be that hypothermia is setting in because when I go home and it's only ashes and when I go home and there's no prayer when I go home and there's no time in the word I'm feeling the heat of a false fire I'm feeling the heat of a fire that hasn't been built but the Bible says that Paul said I'm going to contribute to this fire and when he did a Viper jumped out of the heat didn't jump out of the rain didn't jump out of the cold I'm sorry I'm I'm just simple it it it jumped out of the Heat have you ever noticed that as you engage in spiritual warfare those things that have been comfy and cozy begin to be agitated and now things are going wrong not because you're doing something wrong things are going wrong because you're doing something right and so you have a decision mama you have a decision daddy you can step back and say ah we're going to let somebody else do all that spiritual warfare stuff we're going to let somebody else fast we're going to let somebody else stretch in their giving we're going to let or you can make up in your mind I'm going to keep praying and I'm going to keep fasting and I'm going to keep keep submitting and I'm going to keep aligning my home in accordance with the word and the kingdom and what does the Bible say the Bible says that he shook that Viper back into the fire the same fire that exposed it was the same fire that destroyed it but you got to keep on praying and you got to keep on fasting and you got to keep living in righteousness Deliverance only takes a few seconds Building A Fire takes a process there's too many people that are stepping into this Altar and you're trying to shake Spirits into fires that you haven't built hell is not afraid of a Sunday night shout as long as there is nothing burning bright in your home tomorrow morning purging your mind purging your decisions purging your heart there's some things we can't shout our way out of there's some things we can't dance our way out of it's going to take dis it's going to take decisions it's going to it's going to take having a sound mind it's going to take Building A Fire for our mind and our marriage and our spouse and our babies and for ourselves Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday and then we're going to have to keep stoking it I don't pray because I'm spiritual can I say it again I don't pray because I'm spiritual I pray because I'm carnal I pray because I'm human I don't fast because I'm spiritual I don't come to church because I'm spiritual I fast and I come to church because I am carnal and I will become more carnal and I will become cold and hardened I need the fire of God to burn bright can we clap our hands right now Paul what you going to do with that Viper i w Shake It Off I can't always control what tries to latch on to me in this end time hour but I do get to determine what I hold on to and the Bible does not tell us it was a harmless snake it was a snake full of harm it was a Viper but as soon as Paul Let It Go it had no harm on him notice the transition all of a sudden he's bitten by this snake and everybody's saiding oh he's a murderer they're accusing him they're bringing up his past the problem is they weren't wrong he's got a snake he's got a snake latching on to him poison is trying to infuse his veins and all of a sudden he's not just feeling the attack he's here in the attack this is a murderer this is his end oh my but you can't just shake off what is trying to latch on to your spirit you got to shake off the voices of humans around you that do not perceive and realize what God is truly doing in your life listen watch he shook it off he shook it off and the Bible says that it had no harm on him and the Bible ible says you know why you're an you know why you're a target of poison because you're an Agent of Change you're an instrument of healing let me prove it the Bible says the Bible says that in verse 5 of chapter 28 he shook off the Beast Into the Fire and felt no harm how be it they looked upon him when he should have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly but after they had looked a great while and saw no harm come to him they changed their minds and said he was a god see how fickle humanity is one moment he was being accused the next moment he was being praised but persecution nor popularity will stop the church oh yes neither will hinder what God is doing through you now watch verse seven brother Aaron you can come to the piano musicians can come I'm almost done notice you got to hear the rest of this story verse 7 in the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island whose name was pus who had received us and lost us three days courteously and it came to pass that the father of pus lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux to whom Paul entered and prayed and laid his hands on him and healed him so when he was done others also which had diseases in the island came and were healed that is why you are a Target of poison because you are an instrument of anointing you are a vessel of healing this is bigger than you this is bigger than you Paul you can't control what latches onto your spirit but you can control what you hold on to but now there's a man who's going to die unless something happens and Paul you don't have the luxury just to hold out the perfect hand the Bible says he laid his hands plural upon him he laid the bitten hand on him the scarred hand on him the Bible says that man was healed it segu into an islandwide Citywide Revival and healing begins to flow where poison should have virtue begin to flow where Venom wanted to all because a man of God said I'm not holding on to that I'm not holding on to that I refuse to let that put its thingss in my [Music] faith I'm going to let it go I'm going to let it go you had to come to this island Paul you had to come here you had to be cast you had to be thrown upon these rocks you had to you had to come to Molita Malta you had to crash upon these rocks the Bible says something so special to me verse 10 they honored us with many honors and when we departed they laided us with such things as were necessary all of a sudden it comes time for Paul to move on and when Paul leaves this island the Bible says he is loaded down with what is necessary storms have a way of teaching you what is essential and non-essential trials have a way of identifying what truly matters in life Paul you thought this was going to be the death of you it was just the development of you Paul had said three times was I Shipwrecked he had no idea that this was going to be the [Music] fourth but this is not where he would die this is where he would develop can I tell some of you on a Sunday night hell wanted your obituary but God's just going to add to your resume Hallelujah this is not where their story ends this is not where their Ministry ends this is not where their gifting ends not on these rocks I'm going to add to their file I'm going to add to their resume I'm going to add to their story another tale of the dramatic goodness of God stand with me if I'm Paul I'm looking around and I'm asking what are the point of these rocks why am I here why did we have to crash upon Molita or mola I didn't ask for the storm I didn't ask for the snake bite I want to show you the definition of Mita I want to show you the definition of Malta they can put it on the screen if they have it Malta simply means honey I was in Greece I fact check myself Malta Mita simply means honey in the Old Testament God told his people if I need to bring honey from a rock I can how does a rock naturally produce honey it doesn't It's Supernatural how is God going to answer your prayer the same way honey comes out of a rock how is God going to sustain you the same way honey comes out of a rock yeah how is going to how is God going to oo I feel the witness of the Holy Ghost how's God going to bring that new job how's how's God going to bring Clarity to your career who you're going to marry how how's God going to tell you the next chapter of your life how how's God going to going to see you through this junk how's God going bring significance out of this the same way honey comes from a Rock Paul you you don't you don't you don't realize you didn't ask for the storm you didn't ask for the snake bite you didn't ask to be thrown upon these rocks it may be today it may be tomorrow maybe next [Music] month but Paul one day you're going to look back and you're going to [Music] say there was Sweetness in that storm and there was there was poison that wanted to go through these hands but now there's Ministry flowing through these hands and I could have died on these rocks but I found honey in these rocks I'm telling some of you tonight my message is over but I'm telling you right now that the people in these in this room right now there's other people that are counting on you there's people that are counting on you you and you can make it it may be today it may be tomorrow maybe next week it may be a few months but you too are going to look back and say I didn't ask for the storm I didn't ask for the snake bite I didn't understand these rocks but Ministry is flowing through these hands Venom doesn't get to a fence doesn't get to and I didn't realize it then but I I realize it now there's honey in those rocks that's where I grew that's where I developed Malta is not where I die it's not where you can find my obituary it's where God decided to add to my resume can we lift up our hands all across this room right now whether you came tonight on strength or you came tonight on Brokenness I want you to step out from where you are with your hands lifted would you descend into this front right now would you come as close as you can would you bring your friend would you bring your neighbor would you bring your spouse would you bring your babies you don't have any biological family in this room you got spiritual family would you make a decision to build a fire would you make a decision to let some things go would you make a decision that you're coming out of the cold you're coming out of the rain you're not just going to accept the elements but you're going to change the climate mama daddy young adult teenager you're going to build a fire in your house you're going to build a fire in the lunch break room you're going to build a fire on your playlist you're going to build a fire in your everyday life Honey's gonna flow it's not all Jagged it's not all rough it's not all hard Honey's going to come out of these rocks sweetness is going to come forth out of this storm come on I feel the richness of the Holy Ghost right now I feel the rich I feel the richness of the Holy Ghost would you lift
