I would call your attention to the Book of Numbers the 10th chapter The Book of Numbers the 10th chapter and we're going to begin reading at verse number 28 numbers 10 reading at verse number 28 thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies when they set forward and Moses said unto hobab the son of regel the midianite Moses father-in-law we are journeying unto a place of which the Lord said I will give it you Come Thou with us and we will do thee good for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel for a few moments this morning I would speak to you on this subject we are on a journey let's pray savior I love you God I'm so grateful for every individual that's in this house those who are tuning in on the multimedia platforms now God I pray that you're ever anointed word would be delivered to our hearts with understanding with love and with care God let it reach down into our hearts and speak to us let us always be led by your Mighty power for all this we're grateful and thankful in the G the name of Jesus we pray amen and amen we are on a journey I would confess before this entire congregation all that would hear I have never been accused of being too uh sedentary are inactive in my behavior I thankfully grew up in a generation that did not medicate children for being a bit active or I'd have been in trouble terms like being hyper had not yet been coined in my childhood and uh it was also before widespread decaffeination took place so I'll tell you about me the closest thing I ever had to any kind of diagnosis in my child childhood Behavior was from my mom who occasionally said you act like you've got rabbit in your feet and other times she'd say you act like you got ants in your pants now I may be the only person that's ever been told that I don't know but from my perspective I simply felt like that when you are awake it's time to see and do all you can sleep was a necessary evil forced upon me by a nap or Nightfall I also confess as we move into the present day that age has tempered some of those attitudes in my flesh naps are not near as bad a word as they used to be can I get a witness in the house and I do apologize to Nate and Ashley Anthony and Kelly if I've passed any of these Restless traits on to Easton Eleanor or Callaway but I will also deflect a bit saying I got it from my mom and dad too but please know in the spiritual sense numbers told of a journey that was taking place God had called a nomadic traveling roaming wandering people when he first covenanted with Abram who had become Abraham that journey in spirit would be one that would remain in God's call for his chosen people over generations and centuries I Proclaim and maintain the Church of God still in a spiritual sense need to have rabbit in our feet and have the mentality that this present world is not our home this is not where we're planning on staying we're on a journey today David said it this way in the Psalms 39:12 hear my prayer oh Lord and give ear unto my cry hold not thy peace at my tears for I'm a stranger with thee and a Sojourner as all my fathers were he was another generation several away from Abram but he still had that desire to be on the Move spiritually he said I'm a Sojourner if you look up that term to sojourn it means a period of time when you stay in a place as a traveler or a guest but it's a temporary stay Albert Brumley the author the author of the song that we sometimes sing the old hymn I'll fly away also copyrighted and arranged a hymn that was called this world is not my home the first verse said this this world is not my home I'm just passing through my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue the Angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore I'm here to tell you I'm on a journey you're on a journey if you're serving the same God that I'm serving you're not planning on staying in this world for very long I'm headed someplace Stephen said and God spake on this wise that his seed should sojourn to a Strange Land for if there's any doubt in your mind just look around you read the headlines hear the news watch the telecasts we're living in a Strange Land there's a lot of things going on that I'm not accustomed to there's a lot of things that I'm not at home with in this old world what's happened to this old world it's strange to me it is a Strange Land the lack of a moral compass the willingness to embrace and Elevate s ful living and debauchery is strange to me I'm not at home in this old world Mankind's cruelty one to another I'm not at home with all that takes place but you see I'm on a journey now I mentioned that when God covenanted with Abram he was covenanting with someone whose lifestyle was nomadic that term to be a nomad defined is a member having no permanent Abode and who's tra who travels from place to place to find fresh pastures for their livestocks I'm here to tell you while that may be in our bloodline we are not Nomads for you see we have direction we have a destination and we have a promise we're not aimlessly wandering around we're not just following after every wind that blows through every new doctrine that takes place in fact we have a definite Direction 1 Timothy 1 and4 said neither give heed to fables or endless genealogies which minister questions rather than Godly edifying which is in faith so do now the end of this commandment is Charity out of a pure heart and of good conscience and un and Faith unfeigned from which some have swerved and have turned aside under vain jangling defined vain jangling are Idol talk meaningless chatter or disputes over trivial matters sounds like a like x Facebook used to be Twitter to me let me tell you we're not aimlessly on a journey we have a destination we have direction we have a goal and we have a promise yes Timothy also was told by Paul in 1 Timothy 6 oh Timothy keep that which is committed to thy trust avoid profane and vain babblings oppositions of Science and falsely socalled which some professing have AED concerning the faith Grace be with thee amen I submit that if we aren't careful as Christians we have even L that word science to always appear to be an opposition to Christianity but true science will bear out there is a God everywhere his handywork is all around us I do not allow those so-called who represent all science to say there is no God and to be atheistic and agnostic I'm here to tell you if you look around the world if you look at the intricacies of all that we have our God created it and we're on a journey to be in a place with [Applause] him don't take my word for it let me quote Albert Einstein he said I want to know God's thoughts and the rest are mere details Warner Heisenberg who is the German theoretical physicist and one of the key pioneers of quantum mechanics hasselberg was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics in 1932 for creation of quantum mechanics brother Ron you just retired you're a mechanic maybe you can get into quantum mechanics right now I can't even spell it but here's what Heisenberg the creator of quantum mechanics said the first Gulp and I quote the first gulp from the glass of Natural Science will turn you into an atheist but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you let me tell you as man gives all of his doubts and confusion when you get to the very when you get to the very end God is still there he's still in charge he created the heavens and the Earth his handywork just formed all around don't let man's ideology put doubt in your mind God is still in control he created it all when I was at the University of Tennessee took me a little while to figure out that they had something that I wanted I wanted a diploma and there's some of those folks that if you became very aggressive in what you believe they wanted to fail you just or their principle or lack thereof I got in one of the entry-level biology classes and uh they started telling about how many thousands of years ago this happened there was this by happen stance big bang and all of a sudden just make sure you're awake that out of all of this disorder by chance order came in place and there was an opportunity to to ask questions they got to a certain point and I said where did that come from and said well that came from where did that come from and she started backing up to this part well that many thousand where did that come from and about the fourth where did that come from she said you're a Christian aren't you if you go back it's the word says in the beginning God I'm here to Proclaim today in the beginning God there is nothing before God there will be nothing after God I'm on a journey to be with my God I have no doubts I have no Direction other than a journey to heaven we're on a journey together this morning I'm headed someplace you see there's a destination Hebrews 11 and 8 said by faith Abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive an inheritance obeyed and he went out not knowing whether he went by faith sojourned to the land of promise as in a strange country dwelling in Tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob The Heirs with him of the same promise for he looked for a city which has foundations whose Builder and maker is God I'm not home yet I've got a destination oh rumbling so eple copyrighted this world's not my home but you see not only do I have a destination and I have Direction I have a promise just as God covenanted with Abraham everybody in this house we have a promise in Acts 1:4 scripture tells us and being assembled together with them commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the father you see not only do I know where I'm going I've got a promise right now which sayith he ye have heard of me for John truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence you're promised the Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost is promised to you the revelation of the apostolic message was then fulfilled in Acts the 2 chapter preacher you going to read that again no I'm going to recite it then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are far even as many as the Lord our God shall call I've got a promise I've got direction I've got a destination and I've got a promise today but in our text there was another little statement for Moses speaking to his brother-in-law said we're journeying into a place which the Lord said I will give it you and he said come come now with us if we ever get to thinking that we in the apostolic move movement have an exclusive ticket we're sadly mistaken we're making an invitation hey I want everybody that can go with me I want every individ my mama mol man she she raised a bunch of preachers my father and his twin brother and their younger twin brother they and there the my my aunt married a preacher and there's uh Next Generation Next Generation next she wasn't much of a public speaker but if you ever asked mul to testify mark it down she' testify whatever she was going to testify but the end of her testimony you you knew she wasn't finished or she said this she said I want to go to heaven I want to take everybody with me listen I want to invite everybody to go with us on this journey this is not an exclusive Journey I'm Not In First Class trying to stay from everybody else we're in this trip together we're on this journey together come on and go with me you've got a promise too it's not exclusive it's not limited to any ethnicity or color it's not going to be bound by prejudices or socioeconomic position it's for everybody for your children and them which are a far off even as many as the Lord Our God shall call come on this journey no boundaries of Economics education and it excludes no race no nationality or any ethnicity Jesus in his Parable concerning the great supper said this Luke 14:21 so the servant came and showed the Lord these things then the master of the house being angry there wasn't enough folks showing up to the supper he said go out quickly in the streets and the lanes of the city bring in hither the poor the M the halt the blind preacher why would anybody from the church take their time to go out and hand out food because when we meet the need many time of the carnal man the spiritual man's heart can be opened to give an in invitation to come to the journey that we're on and the Lord said to the servant go out into the highways and the hedges compel them to come in that my house may be filled Luke excuse me Isaiah 5358 and on the highway there there shall be a way and it shall be called the way of Holiness we are inviting everybody that would journey to get on the Highway of Holiness it says the unclean shall not pass over it but it shall be for those the wayfaring men though fools shall not ER therein no lion shall be there nor any Rous Beast shall go up thereon it shall not be found but the redeemed shall walk there have you been redeemed have you been purchased by the blood of Jesus I've been redeemed I don't deserve to be on this trip but he paved my way and he invited me to come on and I want every one of you to go with me and The Ransom of the Lord shall return come to Z with songs and everlasting Joy upon their heads they shall obtain joy and glad and sorrow and sign shall flee away now let me pause here here's what this is saying if you'll give me the latitude we're on a journey but we need to enjoy the trip we ought to have joy on our trip serving the lord is not putting you in the hum drums and putting you under some kind of bondage when you get on this journey and you commit to this trip you see that's a problem some folk can't make make up their mind whether they're going this way or they're going that way you need to get a madeup mind today I'm going to make it to heaven I'm going to do everything I can I'm going to serve God I'm not going to be [Applause] distract I'm I I'm trying to contain myself but I want you to know I'm happy about the journey I'm on he he said there's going to be Everlasting joy and there's going to be Holiness on this highway brother LS Hera pinned the words he said I'm not only going to make it but I'm going to enjoy the trip brother LS used to tell story about a lady that came up to him kind of had the words wrong said this lady said I really like that song you sing I'm not going to make it but I'm going to enjoy the trip I'm going to make it but I'm going to have a good time while I'm going serving God is the great listen don't go around with the Molly grubs whatever that is I can't even spell it listen if you're serving God don't find desires of this world tempting you it's the greatest life we can live young people let me talk to the young folks enjoy the journey enjoy the trip 1 Timothy 4:11 and 12 says this these things command and teach let no man despise that youth that includes you don't despise your youth don't do things now in your youth that you're going to despise later let no man despise thy youth instead here's what you're supposed to be but be th an example of the Believers in word in conversation in charity in spirit in faith in Purity enjoy your youth it's the greatest time in the the world to serve God in your youth man there's there's some cares of life you're not having to deal with right now I I promise you uh just just take it from an old 66 year old man there's some stuff you can do now you're not going to be able to do later do it while you serve God it will be the most rewarding memories that you will have it will be the greatest thing events you'll go to people you'll serve people you'll meet it it will be so rewarding to remember camp meetings conferences revivals things that you've done uh people that you've helped enjoy let no man despise your youth I have seen some despised youth in the past present company excluded okay let me tell you you're eventually going to age many and most will enter into marriage you know what you need to do you need to enjoy a Christian marriage the way you enjoy a Christian marriage is good make good decisions before you get married I realize this is not marriage retreat but I'm speaking to the church this morning I'm speaking to the unmarried this morning there's some things worse than being married and that's one being married to the wrong person you can't serve god with that's why we preach in teach to be not unequally yolked together with unbelievers it'll cause you problems in every facet of your life it'll cause you financial problems if One Believes and tithe and and one doesn't it'll it'll cause you all kind of interpersonal problems if one wants to go to church and one wants to go to the honkong look I'm too old to be politically correct today y'all just hang on with me hang on we're on a journey we're traveling together enjoy your marriage first Peter 3:7 says likewise ye husbands dwell with them speaking his wives according to knowledge giv honor unto the wife as unto the weaker vessel now please notice what it doesn't say it doesn't say giv honor unto the wife as the weak vessel it says as un to the weaker vessel it's not saying listen that some lady's going to have to dumb down a lot to be weaker spiritually than her husband man y'all can sit down man we're going to quit shouting quit walk Walking the bench bags listen gentlemen this means you got a responsibility to be spiritually strong be a spiritual leader in your family not an ogre not a bully because you are two together that have become one however it is your responsibility this is simply while it's a spiritual statement contrary to all the social noise that you're hearing there's a difference between men and women are you being political no I'm being biological and I'm being scriptural scripture tells us he created male and female but here's what it goes on to say giving honor unto the wife as under the weaker vessel as and as being hirs this is what you'll inherit together of the grace of it didn't say heaven said the grace of life now let me pause here for when you preach like this we have a wide range of life experiences in this room and on the internet some of you have suffered the Heartbreak of a broken marriage please do not take what I'm preaching today as condemning of you or that you made some unpar unpardonable mistake there's some of you who have lost a mate in death but instead understand I'm still giving instructions to the unmarried and whatever state you're in you can get on this journey together with your mate and you can find a prayer life and a prayer time and a direction for a marriage that's in trouble he said as being hirs together of the grace of life that your prayers be not hindered boy it's hard to talk to the Lord when you've been curing you wife it's kind of tough to be real spiritual when you've been having Battle Royal yeah you've heard the story but I'll repeat it story goes as a man and woman having one of those discussions on the way to church husband and wife you they don't argue but we have intense discussions sometimes they were having an intense discussion they walked into the church they said everybody praise the Lord Gody lifted his hand started praising the Lord wife said you hypocrit you were just all over me we were fighting in the car he said I'm mad at you I'm not mad at God maybe he was just needing to repent I who knows enjoy your marriage enjoy the Delight of a Christian Mar it's the most delightful life that there is and if God blesses you with children enjoy your children Psalms 1273 says lo children are a Heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the room the the fruit of the womb is his reward and arrow are they in the hands of Mighty Men so are children of the youth happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them they shall not be ashamed they should shall speak with the enemies in the gates now there's a a lot you can glean from that and time would not permit me to tell you all that we can find in that but suffice to say moms and dads whatever state of parenting you're in right now enjoy it in the lord it's not always going to be there I mean today's toddler will be tomorrow's drivers permit you better enjoy what God has given you what God has entrusted in you they're not Rugrats they're not little demons you need to love them you need to care for them you need to discipline them and train them up as they should be trained scripture says because if you do that now bible promises us when they're old they won't depart apart from it there's some seeds you can't wait till they turn 17 and say well now I'm going to let you decide whether we go to church or not I'll repeat Bishop's story of the individual that contacted him said I need you to counsel with my son my my son doesn't want to go to church anymore would you please counsel him and see if we you can counsel him in coming to church Bishop saidwell I I try to help anybody said how old is the guy said he's seven needless to say Bishop did not go to a counseling session he said all he needed to is on the phone uh my brother he said if your son and the the guy's uh logic was this he said I'm afraid to make him go to church I'm afraid I'll turn him against Church Bishop said do you make your son take a bath aren't you afraid you're going to turn him against water listen there's some stuff we got a responsibility as parents right now don't send your kids to church bring them to church don't tell them how to live show them how to live don't say you need to live live like that person or this person don't make Heroes out of the world make Heroes out of the church get them involved early you you see these young folks running around here with cameras technology playing music you know where they started as little bitty bits I I I I've seen too many times our our teachers and instructors we don't wait till they turn 17 they get them up here when they can barely walk man some of they get up here and we're going to sing a song about Jesus and they'll break down Squall and cry that's okay they well Mama we keep on keeping on we'll have kids choirs and we'll have Christian schools and we'll have child care why because we're going to try to train up a child in the way you should go when enjoy your children enjoy this journey I hasten could I also say to the rest of us enjoy aging enjoy aging boy some of you don't want to say Amen now CU you're afraid I'll be Proverbs 16:31 says the Hy head is a Crown of Glory if it be found in the way of righteousness age ought to teach us righteousness your white hair is a Crown of Glory if it's found in the way of righteousness otherwise you just an old fool that that's not in the Bible that's just uh that's the book of M look you make and dye that hair but you can't deny that face Lord have mercy some of y'all can't wait till I say and finally well old age as far as this is going to go so you you know we're getting close to the end let me tell tell you don't be ashamed of who you are but don't get old before your time either you you got value in the house of God don't retire ref fire just find something else you can do I I remember Bishop telling us here a while back few years back he had a problem with his knee and he got his knee worked on doctor said don't develop a Hab habitual limp he said sometimes if you got an injury he said even after it heals if you developed a habitual limp he said you'll go around like this bishop said this ain't a limp it's a Swagger I'm here to tell you wherever you are in a stage of Life enjoy the journey we're going to heaven together musicians come quickly they'll think I'm quitting stand with me enjoy the the trip enjoy the journey Proverbs 20:29 said the glory of a young man is their strength gray hair the Splendor of the old look old dude don't try to blame your Mischief on a midlife crisis don't think you can TR trade your 40y old on 220 don't go around buying you some smedium shirts so you can know say Suns out guns out you know just be who you are be what God made you stand up and be a leader in your family even in your old age stand up and be counted I'm on a journey I'm farther along than some of the rest of you come on with me it's a great trip we're on allow me to analogize or if I use the word maybe I could develop a new word I'll parabolized H Through The Years songwriters poets Riders have compared our journey to riding on ships you know the old ship of Zion trains this train is Bound for Glory this train uh buses planes we used to sing uh I'm going to New Jerusalem here I come you can't take a bush you can't take a train the only way to get there is go down in Jesus name all that I guess that's why nobody's written a song about to get on this moped and let's go home this is a mass transit Journey this is not a single occupancy trip we're in this thing together I want to go to heaven and I want to take everybody with me our text said that here's what's going to happen he said come with us and we will do thee good the journey will do you good first Timothy 6:18 said they that do good that they be rich in Good Works ready to distribute willing to communicate laying up in the store for themselves a good foundation against the times to come that they may lay hold on eternal life 1 Timothy 4 mentioned good Doctrine I'm paraphrasing but with all of that said with all we've talked about with all the advantages of this journey I mean today if I was putting together the sales pitch flyer for everybody going on the journey I want everybody to see page after page you can enjoy this journey at every stage of your life but notice from our original text numbers 10:28 it said thus were the journeys of the children of Israel according to their armies when they' set forward Moses made the invitation unto hobab but verse 30 is a sad statement because here's what hobab said and he said unto him I will not go but I will depart to my own land into my Kindred listen we've been delivered from the life of sin we've got our ticket punched we're ready to go we're on a journey but sadly the invitation of the church the invitation of Direction the invitation of a promise the invitation of goodness and an ultimate destination for some does not supersede traditions and rituals of sin that can replace those things with Revelation at this invitation Christ has extended an invitation to all of us the place I'm headed is heaven and the final stop on this journey unless the Lord comes back yes is death but you see when you're on a journey like we're on death while a temporary separation brother the Matt while a temporary separation we haven't made our final destination yet somebody hear me in this house today we haven't made our final destination stop oh there may be a temporary separation for those who've gone before us but 1 Thessalonians 4 said this in verse 15 for this we say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel with the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air so shall we ever ever be with the Lord we're going to be together forever brother Ry I haven't made my journey I I hadn't made the last stop yet but I'm not running from it I'm not afraid of it I'm going to enjoy the journey while I'm here but I'm not afraid of the trip let me ask you in this house today for it said Comfort one another with these words if the stage of life you're living in today you're not finding the peace and comfort of Christ I'm going to give you just a little head start this morning to make your way to an altar and say Lord I want to get on this trip but I'm not going to wait long cuz everybody else is going to come if you want to get on this trip trip would you step out if you're on this journey would you follow them right now and I want us to come proclaiming I'm going to get all I can from the Lord I'm going to make my travel plan sure and I'm going to invite everybody I can with me to go on this journey would you come believing and praising this morning [Music] hallelujah hallelujah yes Jesus in the Jesus I want to be with you Jesus I'm on this journey and I won't turn
